Bardock
Bardock sat down still on the bed, resting his back against the pole on the end of the bed. Before he knew it, he fell asleep there, knowing that he had to be up soon to get the Prince up. A few hours pass and Bardock blinks his eyes open, looking around before he gets up, stretching his arms over his head. Bardock threw open the shades, looking at the sunlight coming over the horizon. He walked into his room then, pulling the armour over his head and clicking the sides in place. Then he sighed, readjusting his arm bands and his bandanna before he walked back into Azures room. Bardock stood by the bed, his arms crossed over his chest. He wished he could let the poor kid sleep, but he remembered his instructions from the night prior. So he lowered his arms, shaking the Prince softly, "Prince Azure.. its time to get up."
Key-Tokki
Azure could feel someone shaking his shoulder but tried to ignore it, reaching up he pulled the pillow down slightly before pressing his face into it. Sighing into it , he murmured softly in an attempt to get more sleep, "Cameron, come on, just ten more minutes. Have a heart." He whined softly, however his mind woke up a bit more and he remembered that Cameron was dead, and whoever touching him was definetly not the dead. His eyes shot open as he sat up quickly sat up, his hand shooting to his neck as the first thing he thought of was the previous night. Only after he noticed who it was that had woken up did he calm down. Closing his eyes and letting himself fall back to the sheets, letting out a sleepy sigh. "Right, i'm sorry Bardock." He spoke, there was a tired tone to his voice, he had never been a morning person. Running a hand through his bed headed hair, he sluggishly pushed himself out of his bed and made his way to the wardrobe. "There is a party today, we are going to bath, then get you some appropriate clothing. Don't worry, you will only have to wear it for a few hours." He assured the other before glancing at him warily. "Also, your back, hows it feeling?" He asked, looking for something to cover the small bruises on his neck.
Bardock
'My back..?' Bardock had thought to himself, and then blinked, looking over to the table where the pocket knife was thrown. 'That's right.. inwas stabbed..' his hand traveled to the back of his shoulder, where the bandage was and he winced. It hadn't hurt last night, he guessed from the adrenaline, but he felt it was sore today. Bardock, in no attempt to show any kind of weakness, just shook his head, "I am fine. How are you feeling?" Key-Tokki
Azure gingerly brushed his fingers tips across his throat before giving a slight shrug, "It hurts, but it will heal. Let me have a look at that," He spoke, his voice still full of sleep as he made his way behind the other man and carefulyl inspected the wound. "It's probably going to be sore, the knife was jammed in pretty roughly, but it should feel better in a few days. I'll have them put some medical herbs into your bath when you take one." As slow as a child who was gettign dressed for school, he pulled on some appropriate clothing, and wrapped a scarf around his neck. To his delight it was cold enough outside that the scarf would not be out of place. "We are going to get breakfast, don't mention anything of last night or I am sure neither of us will hear the end of it." He added wuirily, waiting for the other by the door. Bardock
Bardock watched Azure wrap the scarf around his neck and wait by the door. Bardock unwrapped the scarf, and then rewrapped it, gingerly loosening it up so it wouldn't hurt the bruises. Then, he softly touched his fave, where he was slapped, "What about this? What should I say happened?" His hazel eyes found Azure's, and he looked... sincerely concerned for the other, "Is Cameron the guy in the photos?" Key-Tokki
Azure was more than slightly shocked when the Saiyan touched his face, he could have his hand cut off if someone caught him touching the prince without due permission. However since no one was around, he was not worried about it for now. Reaching up, he touched his cheek and winced gingerly, not even noticing it before. Sitting back on his heels he thought for a moment before coming up with an excuse, "I fell out of bed, I used to sleep walk a lot, one time I even tried to jump off the balceny in my sleep, so that will be believable. If anyone sees your shoulder just say I was repreanding you for something." Proud of his solid excuses, he turned to leave the room but froze at the mention of the name. Turning back to Bardock, his tone was now a bit harsher. "I am a prince, you will not go through my things without my permission, I could have your fingers." Turning back around, he let out a sigh, not wanting to be to harsh, he added quietly, "The person in that photograph is dead, it no longer matters who he is-was. Come, we will be late." Azure promptly pushed open his door, not even checking to see if Bardock was following.
Bardock
'Fell out of bed? Would they really believe that?' Bardock raised an eyebrow, but he didn't question him. However, when Azure spoke harshly, it made Bardock blink in surprise. Even when he fought in the beginning, Azure never spoke to him in such a way. The brief explanation only made Bardock have more questions. But he just nodded his head, "Sir." He followed Azure down the hall. The whole way, he felt a twinge of guilt about going through his things. As much as Bardock was curious, he knew that Azure was right, he had no business going through anything. Bardock wanted to apologize, but he knew that Azure was probably a bit too irritated to say anything about it. It was clear that Bardock still had a lot to learn about royalty. Key-Tokki
Azure refused to look at Bardock the entire way down to the dinner haul. Not because he was still upset, but because of how guilty he felt about the way he had acted. Here this man had been ripped from his home, well the battle field, and thrust into the enemies hands like he was nothing more than a tool to barter with, and still he was behaving better than a noble prince in Azure's eyes. Sighing to himself, he let out another yawn, he really did despise mornings. He walked towards the dinning hall, and a few guards pulled open the door, allowing himself and his personal guard to enter. With a polite nod to his father who sat, eating a large turkey leg and discussing the weather with his mother, he took a seat and indicated a seat beside him for Bardock to sit. Only the personal guards where allowed at the table. Leaning back in his chair, he let out a relieved sigh before motioning for Bardock to get himself some food that was laid ou before him. But before either of them could move, the kind spoke. "My son! You look exghausted, did the new guard keep you up ?" A sneer crossed the kings face as Azure shook his head and said what he had rehearsed. "I nearly fell off the terrace again, in my sleep, so it was a restless night." He answered, avoiding the kinds eye, who responded with out a beat. "Come here, my boy." When Azure made no signs of moving, he spoke again. "Azure, come here." There was a threatening tone to the voice, so slowly, the prince stood. Making his way over to the king with his head held high. "Azure looked at him and spoke "Yes?" The kind promptly stood up and ripped the scarf away to reveal the boys neck. Raising his hand up, the king put his large hand around the princes bruised neck an squeezed slightly, not enough to choke him but enough for it to hurt. "You are lying to me, yes?" His voice boomed, clearly angry as Azure put both of his hands on his fathers wrist and struggled to respond. "No, no i'm not! It was a mistake,e Bardock caught me before I fell and it left a bruise." His father raised an eyebrow before responding. "Your personal caught you by the neck?" Azure simply nodded painfully, and the kind released his grip, leaving the prince to sink to the brought holding his neck. The queen simply watched in silence, clear sorrow on her face. Walking around the table, the princes father stopped in front of Bardock and slapped him in the back, making sure to do it right where the stab wound was, but the smile did not drop from his face. "What a catch! I'll tell you, had you dropped him, who knows what would have happened. Maybe you should play with the slaves next time they play some sports, I would love to see these reflexes." There was a dangerous age in the kings voice, and with that, he turned and headed for the door, having had enough of this mornings early festivities. Bardock
Bardock shook his head to Azure, pretty much saying he wasn't hungry. Which was pretty abnormal, since Saiyan's have a large appetite and could eat more than their fair share. Bardock however looked back at the King, who had sneered at him so ugly. It took everything in Bardock's power not to say something to him. Instead, Bardock blinked once Azure spoke about the terrace. 'He doesn't believe him..' The next thing nearly sent Bardock into rage. He watched the King grabbed his son so harshly by the neck. Bardock wanted to get ip, to say something.. but if that were the wrong thing to do... Bardock couldn't watch. He turned his head, shaking from anger. The slap right on his would made Bardock grunt in pain. And again, he felt like rising and throwing a punch right into his fucking face. But again, it would be the wrong thing to do. He grit his teeth angrily instead, "Thank you... SIR." Once the King left, Bardock growled lowly, 'Yeah, wish I could play, alright. How about my favorite game of my fist in your face?' Bardock closed his eyes, trying to calm down enough to maybe eat something, but no use. His anger was seething, not just from the slap, but the abuse on Azure as well. He'd never seen a father treat his son like that before. He'd be damned if he saw it again.
Key-Tokki
Azure kept his eyes on the ground as the king stormed out, he couldn't bring his gaze up to look at Bardock. He had assured the Satyam that he had things handled but clearly he didn't. Bardock might have been safe from the battle f field, but now he was in a much different kind of battle. One that couldn't be won through sheer strength. His king was once known to be the good king, however after Azures elder brother died he changed. He was no where near the kind man he once was, in fact many said he was down right cruel. The queen stood up, taking a step towards her son, she clearly wanted to hold him but instead she turned her back and hurried after her king. As soon as they were gone low murmurs broke out around the servants that were hovering nearby. Two of them rushed to the young princes aid but he simply picked up his scarf and ended them away. Making his way back over to his seat he silently sat down and put his head face down on the table. Only after a moment did he speak, not able to bring himself to look at Bardock out guilt, he order. "We have a lot to do today, eat something. I'm not asking. " There was a weiriness to his voice. He had only just woke up but this was clearly going to be a long day. Bardock
Bardock didn't say a word as Azure sat down. But he wanted to say so much. Or to let him know he was right there.. to talk to him. He opened his mouth to say he wasn't hungry, but once Azure spoke the order, he sighed softly. Leaning up, he grabbed some bread and started to tear off pieces, popping them into his mouth. Bardock could still hear the chatters of the other servants around and his blood boiled again, reliving those few moments over and over again in his mind. He needed to hit someone or something. Key-Tokki
Azure spent the next twenty minutes in a sulk before a servant stepped forward, drawing his attention. "Sir, the tailor is ready for the fitting for tonights event, when it so pleases you he asks you stop by his chamber." Nodding to her, he sat up and stood, he had no appitite and even though he had made Burdock eat something it was clear the Saiyan was not interested in the food either. Wrapping the scarf around his neck once more, he motioned for Bardock to follow him and in turn followed after the servant he lead him happily. It was pretty clear by now that most of the servants perfered him to his parents, and for obvious reasons.
Bardock
Bardock waited until they were far enough away before he said something to Azure. His arms folded over his well muscled chest, he spoke carefully, "Why did you allow him to treat you that way?" It was the best way that Bardock could phrase the question as they entered into another chamber. From what Bardock saw, the loads of fabric and various clothing, he assumed it was the Tailor's chamber. He stood a few feet away, his arms still crossed over his chest. Key-Tokki
Azure was not exactly caught off guard by the question, but was a bit shocked by the fact that the other had to ask it. Letting out a tired sigh he spoke, only when they were in the safety of the tailors champers. "Bardock, I understand that you come from a different place, but you have to understand that things are different here." Reaching up he gingerly tugged at the scarf, "He is the king, if you upset him he could have you beheaded. He is on his third personal guard this month, not because they are killed in combat, but because they upset him someway, somehow. Maybe they looked at him wrong, or just were at the wrong place at the wrong time, but he he had the first one executed and the second he beat to death in the middle of the night." Looking back over at Bardock, he spoke, "Bardock, you need to know your place. If it is the king, no matter what, you suck in your pride and you take it unless you want things to go worse." As he finished, a large breasted woman with guady red hair and huge glasses all but popped out of the doorway, a huge grin on her face. "Azure! My darling baby how are you! You never come to visit me anymore!" He arms wrapped around the prince and he couldn't help but feel his tension ease as the comfort of his old friend. "My god, you are all skin and bones! Are you not eating? I'm going to haveto alter all your beautiful clothes if you don't get some meat on those bones!" His gaze shifted froom the white haired boy to his guard and she continued without even skipping a beat. "Oh~, this is the new personal guard? I heard he was a gift, a peace offering? How lucky, this one certainly is a looker, you scoundral you!" She winked at Azure, before lightly nudgjing Bardock in the ribs, clearly excited. Azure just smiled at Bardock apologeticaly and laughed.
Bardock
Azure's explanation made Bardock even angrier. His fists clenched again, this tome so hard, warm blood was dripping onto the floor below. 'Beaten to death?? How weak was the last guard?? Azure clearly underestimates my strength. I could behead almost every person in this castle without even trying. The King was wrong about one thing.. his guards may outnumber us.. but the Saiyans were winning the war.. which is why I didn't understand why I was brought here..' The woman's chatter is what broke Bardock from his thoughts. He turned his head and body towards her, looking at her. His first thought was that she looked a bit strange. Those circular things on her face made her eyes look large and glassy. He held his tongue, especially when she dug her elbow into his side, saying he was a 'looker'. 'A looker? Did she just call me a harlot?' It was clear that Bardock didn't know a lot of the things around here, but he kept his mouth shut for now.
Key-Tokki
Azure continue to laugh at the woman as she turned and began gathering up fabrics before speaking. "So it's a winter party right? To celebrate the end of fall, you get cold easily so i'm going to pile on the fabric for you, alright?" She picked up a bunch of bright blue and white fabric and began to hold it up next to Azures face. "These will compliment you nicely, now, for your man candy." Azure stepped forward to speak. "He is a fan of his normal clothes so can you try not to get his something to extravegant?" He asked, to which she crossed her arms and observed the other for a moment before turning around and pulling out a large, satin black cloth and walking behind him before laying it across his shoulders. With a content nod she stepped back, "There we are, how about that? I can just attatch it to the armor on your shoulders and it will be like a throw cape, you'll appear classy enough for the party but won't have to change much. Plus you can keep your armor on this way." The woman gave Bardock a toothy grin.
Bardock
Bardock was silently grateful that Azure remembered what he asked the night before. But not only was he grateful, he was a little surprised. His hardened features softened then. Azure didn't deserve to be treated the way he was. Bardock refused to stand for it there on out. His fingers softly caressed the silky material, and he gave a small smile. It would be the nicest thing he owned. "Thank you." He looked to this woman and decided that even though she called him a harlot, and 'man candy', whatever that was, she would not be wished a painful death. Key-Tokki
Azure smiled as she run to the back and returned with a simple, male dress kimono. Handing the prince it, she smiled and spoke. "It's lined in wool on the inside, so you won't catch a cold." It seemed simple enough, and came with some simple shoes and gloves to match and he was more than relieved. The tailor was one of his closest friends but she had always been a bit weird, when he was younger she loved dressing him up in extremely feminine clothing, claiming it made him look absolutely adorable. He had been mistaken for flat chested princess rather than a prince on multiple occations because of her. Taking the garmet, he headed back out of the chamber and spoke towards Bardock. "I did most of my meetings and internal affair things yesterday, so today we are going to go get a few things from the market." Glancing out of a nearby window he added. "I know you are rough and tough, but I would really consider a jacket." He let out a laugh, heading back up towards his own chambers.
Bardock
Bardock followed Azure towards his chamber and nodded to the Prince. He then looked at the other from the corner of his eye, and then turned to glance at him, "A jacket?" He shook his head, signaling he wasn't sure what it was he was speaking about, "Saiyan's have a higher body temperature during the cold seasons so that we can withstand colder temperatures without needing extra clothing." He glanced at Azure, "But I will wear one if it will please you, Prince Azure."
Key-Tokki
Azure sighed slightly, when they made it to his room he pushed open the door and led the other in. Hanging up his clothing for tonight, as well as Bardocks, he went to the closet and removed his large jacket. It had been made for him a year ago and was a present from Cameron, so it was his most prized possession in his closet. Pulling it over his shoulder and arms he reached back and pulled the hood on it up. "Alright, i'm ready. You don't have to wear one if you don't want to, i'm certainly not going to force you." Letting out a laugh he went back to the door and pushed it open before turning to Bardock. "Ready?" His Jacket
Bardock
Bardock stared at the large jacket he was wearing, and let out a small laugh before he shook his head, "I am fine. Would you like to fly?" He figured he would ask before laying a hand on him. The market they were heading to was a little bit of a ways away, and he didn't want Azure to get tired from walking. Key-Tokki
"Mm" He made small noise of doubt before nodding, if the other was sure he would be fine without a jacket he certainly would not doubt it. His eyes widened slightly at the opportunity, his people did not have that ability to do, but he had always wanted to try it. Pulling the jacket tighter around himself he smiled softly and nodded. "As long as it won't be to cold, I have a pretty crappy immune system so it would really be great to fly, at least we could save some time?" He offered, coming off like an excited child a bit more than he wanted to.
Bardock
Bardock nods, offering his hand to Azure. Flying, to Bardock, is a great way for him to relieve stress. It takes very little energy and quite easy for him in the meantime. As he waited for Azure to take his hand, his other hand unlocked the Terrace in his bedroom and opened the doors. "I will keep you safe. Trust me."
Key-Tokki
Azure smiled and nodded, without a hint of hesitation, he pulled on the proper shoes and took the Saiyans hand. The Saiyan was in fact warm blooded, he could feel the warmth even through his thick gloves. Almost as though it was timed perfectly, snow began to fall from the clouds, laying in even thicker layers on the ground and covering the entire landscape in white." We are just heading down to the market town, please don't drop me." He joked at the other, prepared for the flight.
Bardock
Bardock nodded, leaning over once he had Azures hand, and he lifted him up under the knees and around the shoulders. Then, he easily hopped onto the edge of the Terrace, and took flight. His body heat pulsated through hos armour, much like a heating lamp as the air whipped a round his hair and face. But Bardock had been right, he was fine in the cold. They arrived at the market in minutes. Bardock lowered to the ground, his boots tapping against the earth softly. He proceeded to set Azure down then, and he crossed his arms back over his chest, "What do you need from here, Prince Azure?"
