Natsume continued to play, even after he had noticed that the other seemed to be impassive, his eyes closed, was he finally asleep? Only after he had finished the entire song did he once again with draw his fingers from the keys. Turning back towards the other, he gingerly got up off the bench again, and made his way closer to the vampire. He needed to be careful, though he had decided to trust Koizume, he didn't want to jump scare him and have anything go awray, if the other wanted, he could crush Natsue in a second and the fox was intellegent enough to know it. Taking one silent step after the next, he made his way gingerly over towards the other until he was just beside him. He couldn't help but note how beautiful the other was once again, and now that he was asleep, even more so. The sorrowful eyes the other seemed to wear were now closed, so the vampire looked simply calm and peacful, though even like this the man exsuded a sense of power and strength.

Reaching up his hand moved before he could stop it, and with just the tips of his finger tips, he gently touched a strand of the others hair. It's was not as soft as he thought it would be, it was softer. His fingers trailed a bit more into the soft black hair and he found himself having to step back in order to avoid getting to much closer to the other. "I must look so creepy." He muttered to himself, and let out a soft laugh. Right, well he couldn't just sit around waiting for the other to wake up, and he doubted he could get into the tunnles between the houses by himself, so he decided it was time he do what he knew was a bad idea, go explore the city.

Looking around the room, he sighed in relief when he noted a large quilt strewn about a nearby chair. Making his way over to it, his tail swished excitedy as he pulled it off and made his way over to the other. Tugging it over, as gently as he could, he laid it over the others lap, he wanted to put it on him better but didn't want to risk the other waking up. Stepping back, once he was certain the other had been properly set, he turned and quickly hurried out of the room. It took him a bit to remember where the others closet was again, but once he found it he jumped excitidly. Right, he needed something warm, really warm.

Was the outfit he finally decided on, after rifling through the closet for a while. It was white with a very warm fur on the inside linning, and swoops of blue tha he assumed were symbols for something, but didn't know what. It looked a bit like a wizard jacket and he quickly took a liking to it. Still, it looked extremely expensive so he was going to have to take care of it. Pulling on a pair of white snow boots, he pulled down the hood and made his way towards the door. Only now did he remember he had no way to get there, they were not far but not exactly walking distance. Picking up a phone that took him a good 30 minutes to locate in the vast house, he called the same number he did earlier when he was picked up from the airport and explained that he had been 'given' permission to go into town, and was asking for a ride. To which the man on the other end agreed quickly and was there in no time flat.

"You look like you are settling into the area nicely, Sir." The driver commented, glancing athe young foxes large coat and excited expression. His face pressed to the window when he saw the large, iced over buildings coming into view. "Yes, it's really..interesting here?" He struggled slightly to find the right word. "You can let me out here." He spoke, noting a lagebuilding with strung up lights that read what he assumed translated to roughly, 'The Playhouse'." The driver gave him a wairy look, but stepped out of the car and made his way around the vehicle. Opening the door and helping the other climb out, Natsume winced slightly when the wind smacked him in the face but noted that with the coat on, it was much less harsh. "I'll be back in 5 hours exactly, in the same spot. You know the number if you need any assistance as well, correct?" The young fox nodded quickly, feeling like ak id who was trying to reassure a parent. Finally, he managed to get the go ahead and took off down the streets.

6 Hours later

The driver cursed softly, as he passed beside the car. The fox was supposed to be back an hour ago, and he had looked everywhere he thought the thing could be, but nothing. Heads were going to roll for this one, giving up, he picked up his cll phone and dialed Koizume's house, wiating for the other to answer so he could explain that he had managed to look the pianist.

Koizumi was vaguely aware of something in the back of his mind, something that was annoying him, distressing him. It took some time before he finally registered the ringing and was jolted awake. He scrambled for his mobile and hit a button the screen instantly lighting up as he answered, trying to sound awake and aware. “Koizumi speaking." he said, his voice strong and yet soft and warming at the same time. Where was he? He looked around the room only now registering that this wasn't his bedroom. There was a quilt over him. He frowned. Ohh, he had fallen asleep. The shock washed through his body. Him, he fell asleep, with someone else in the room, someone else in the house. He swallowed, he must be getting too soft and trusting. That was weird because he still had no trust in people, not after her. He swallowed down the fear "what can I do for you?" He asked wondering what the time was, it must be early morning by now, two, maybe three am, he wasn't sure. It had certainly been late evening when he went to sleep. Come to think of it Natsume was in the room when he fell asleep, he must have put the quilt there. That was kind, he thought hoping the other had helped himself to the bed. He wondered which bed the pianist had slept in, the other night he had been in Koizumi's own bed, but as it turned out that didn't work out so well. He put the thoughts aside and waited for a response on the other end of the line.

The driver cleared his throat, definetly not prepared to give the news to his employer. He had been given one charge while the fox was here, to transport him to and from, and he had already managed to loose him. Still, it would only get worse the longer he waited so he decided to speak. "Ah, yes, Sir. Sorry for the intrusion, but there seems to have been a misunderstanding. The fox called me and told me that you gave him permission to go into the city, "He added that part in first, wanting to ease the process and make him seem less guilty, "And I said I would be here an hour ago to pick him up. Well, Sir, it appears he is no where to be found. I have given him an hour but I thought it appropriate to go ahead and call you. I cannot find him, and I have tried."

The snow was coming down much slower now, and the scenery was beautiful. Natsume's eyes widened as he too everything in, the people all seemed covered in the most beautiful jackets and coats and scarves. However he saw a women wearing a fox pelt scarf and notibly shivered at the idea. Most the the buildings were coated in a slight layer of ice, making them appear all the more shiney. Carefully, so he didn't slip, he made his way down into the inner parts of the city, his eyes widened when he saw people actually skating on the ice, he didn't even know you could do that! There was a large ice skating rink of the middle of a square that had lights strone above it, and people were twirling and wirling around. Leaning on the boarder of it, he watched wide eyed. "Did you want to try?" A bouncy voice came from beside him, looking over, he came face to face with a girl who was a little taller than he was, and she was beautiful and pale skinned like most of the people in the country. Her breath could be seen in the air, and her emerald green eyes seemed kind, a wringlet of red curls hung frmo under her white hat. "I don't think I could,I would probably bust my face open." He laughed and she laughed along with him. "No no, it's not that hard, really. You don't look like you are froom around here, why not give it a shot?" She gouded, and he began to wonder why so many people had warned him about this land, and how supposedly all of the people here were harsh and ruthless.

"Alright then, how do I do it?" He asked, looking out at the ice. "Oh, it's simple, you just-" With a sudden push, he found himself shived right out into the ice and went spinning and sliding forward, not wearing ice skates made it impossible for him to even try to balence, "Go!" She finished, as she watched him go right into the middle of three men who were in the middle of the rink, talking about there own buisness. She laughed hysterically as she watched the young foriegner knock them all down like bowling pins. With her job done, she dissappeared into the crowd. "The fuck!?" One of the three cursed out, before pusing himself off the ice floor and reached down, hualing Natsume up by the back of the coat. "Your going to pay for that you brat!" He yelled before throwing the fox down to land face first to the ice. Natsume yelled out at the pain of the contact and looked up just in time to roll to the side to narrowly avoid a kick. He needed to run. Looking around quickly, he did the only thing he could do. The boy inside of the coat suddenly dissapeared, and a small white fox with red and blue head dyes, shot out from inside it. TRansforming there was his only option. He took off between the third males legs and dashed away, none to gracefully, further into the city.

"Was that a fox?!" Someone yelled out and the entire square went into a freenzy of laughs.

Koizumi felt himself become instantly awake at the words of the other man on the phone. The driver had lost his cute fox spirit. He cursed loudly throwing the quilt from himself and rushing out of the room. “You lost him!” Then he thought better of the words “In fact, you thought he had permission to leave, at ten o'clock at night, you thought I would let him go out into THIS city by himself and at this time of the night!” He could hear his voice rising and almost felt sorry for the man on the other end of the phone. But to let someone new to the city into it so late and by himself, that was nothing less than insanity.

Running a hand threw his hair he pulled it back and tied it with the string that was in his pocket, he always kept string in his pocket, it was a hang up of his, just in case he was caught without anything to tie his hair back with and it was seen as very bad form for an upper class citizen to be seen with their hair down. In fact it was the sign of being lower class, it meant you couldn't afford to have your hair tied back because of the cost of something to tie it with. Running through the mansion he said into the phone, trying to keep his voice calm “Where are you now? Where did you leave him” At the front door he pulled on the long brown fur coat and wrapped it around himself before tying it around his waist and setting into the freezing cold night air.. “What was he wearing?” He asked as he stepped into the car and started the engine connecting the phone to the speaker system within the two seater sports car.

The driver winced at the raising voice of the other, before sighing to himself. He was right, to be fair. He should have gotten spoken permission from his boss instead of just taking the others word for it. Thinking back he spoke, " He was wearing a white and blue coat with a large hood. I am on my way to the skating square, I heard that there was a foreighner that got into a fight with some guys, and somehow disappeared then a fox went running away nearby so I am hoping he is nearby. But that was many hours ago. If it was him and in that form, then without the warmth of the coat, I am not sure he is still.." The man trailed off and chose not to continue his words, not wanting to upset his boss even more. "He was left in front of The Playhouse but I checked there already and no one has seen anything like him." I will call you back if I find anything, Sir." He hung up.

Natsume padded along quietly, on the bright side he blended in mostly to the snow since he was white, only know was he cursing his red andblue accents that caused him to be spotted every so often. But most people nearby were a bit to busy to notice a small fox, and it was late so most were already asleep as it was. Natsume let out a loud sneeze, his fur rising slightly as he did, and he shook himself to regain the composure. He needed to think of what to do, even if he could find a way bck to the house, he couldn't face Koizume. He had lost the others nice coat back on the ice skating rink, and he didn't even ask permission to go in the first place. He shivered as another burst of wind knocked him back a bit, covering him in snow. Using his paws he managed to climb back out, and made his way onto the side walk again. Sitting, he looked around for anywhere he could go. "Fox?" Natsume froze as he heard the world, and he quickly turned around, hair puffing up in warning. However he stoppd when he found himself looking up at a tiny person, a child? The small boy had bright green eyes and dark brown hair, he seemed in awe at the animal he had just discovered. Natsume turned to run the othe wya, but quickly found the ground beneath him gone as small hands picked him up. Thrashing slightly he traid to get free until he found himself pressed up against the others chest. "You can come home with me! You are freezing!" as he spoke, he unzipped his jacket and rezipped it so that Natsume was between the boys chest and the coat was over them both. Koizume would have fought more, but he felt warmth immediately washing over him as the jacket covered him from the icy wind.

His eyes were heavy and he found himself nodding off against the warmth of the others body, his last thought was of Koizume, and how peaceful and beautiful he had looked when he fell asleep. Will I never see him again? He thought ot himself, before finally falling asleep.

Koizumi glowered as he drove. He didn't even know what he was going to do. Was there even anything he could do. That bloody little fox, he had even said he would take him out shopping tomorrow, why did he have to go tonignt. But no matter how angry he was he couldn't convince himself that he was angry at Natsume. No, he was angry at himself, if he hadn't fallen asleep he would have shown the other to his room, he would have locked the doors, he would have set the alarms. It didn't matter that he couldn't remember the last time he locked the doors or set the alarms the point was that he could have done it and then he wouldn't bwnin this mess.

The engine revved in the cold as it sped through the dark streets before finally hitting the lit ones of the high street. He parked in a layby and opened the car ddoor before jumping out and locking it behind him before he started walking briskly towards the ice rink calling "NATSUME! NATSUUUME!" his hands cuoped around his mouth to try and echp the sound of his fingers. When he reached the rink he started asking around after a male a little shorter than himself and a foreigner. No one knew. The crowds had changed and moved on, those that were there had now gone onto other things leaving only the newcomers who would stay another ten minutes and then leave again to go and do who knows what. He frowned, noticing something out of the corner of his eye. Something on the rink. Were they clothes? Pushing himself onto the ice he used his shoes as ice skates, it wasn't perfect but the theory held the same it just wasn't as quick. He croutxhed by the clothes and picked them up. They were soft but cold. Turning the fabric on hs fingers he recognised it. These clothes had been in his wardrobe. The vampire pursed his lips, they were expensive too.

He didn't know why he was angry but he needed something to be angry about and the theft and abandonment of expensive clothes just added to the growing list of things that were nagging at him and making his angry. Koizumi cursed a little too loudly and a couple of people looked over shocked to hear such words coming from the lips of such a beautiful and softly spoken male. He picked up the clothes and out the under his arm before heading back to the streets and continuing to call for the other. He had no other ideas.

Natsume's ears perked and he jerked his head away from the humans chest, struggling slightly so he could make his way up and listen clearer. Did he just hear the vampire? Excitement rushed through him, could he go home now? But he remembered all the trouble he had likely caused and doubted it severly. His ears lay flat against his head and he put it back to the young boys chest. "What's wrong? Sick fox?" The boy asked, frowning as he looked down at this new pet and held the fox a little harder. Why was he so sad, he barely new Koizume, but the idea of upsetting him, was just to much. The image of Koizume, peacfully asleep once again flashed through his mind. The sound of bells and a burst of warm air called the small fox back to reality.

Climbing up so he could see out of the others coat, he looked around and his eyes widened as he saw where he was. What looked like a store, full of expensive looking knik knacks, such as embroydered pillows, necklaces, small figurings. There was no one in the store except a beautiful young women who stood behind the counter, writing something in a note book, he assumed she was the shop owner. "Mom! Look what I found!" The child all but ran over to her, and only after she looked up did she notice her son had brought an animal into the shop. "Lucas! Drop that right now!" Natsume's ears lowered further and his tail twitched slightly in agitation, his kind couldn't growl but if they could he would have. When the boy only held him tighter, the woman rushed forward and began to sack at Natsume, her hand brushing by his cheek that he had landed on earlier when the guy had thrown him down and it hurt, it must have been bruised rather badly. It was enough for him to scratch at the childs chest enough for the boy to finally release him and he tumbled to the floor ungracefully. Once he gained his footing he ran straight past there fet and straight for the door, umping in the attempt to push it open but just slamming face first into it. It took him a few minutes to gather his bearings, but he was extremely aware of the large feet barreling towards him as the woman ran to the door and shoved it open before yelling, "Out! Out out out!" He didn't need to be told twice, he shot back out into the snow, icey wind hitting him in the face. It was in the middle of this that he heard it, that familiar voice.

"NAATSUUMEEE!"

Koizume, there was no mistaking it. Then, every worry he had dissappeared he knew he would be in trouble, but he was scared, alone, freezing, hurting physically and mentally. The small adventure wasn't good for him, even now felt his spirit was being crushed a bit. Why was he so hated, were the people here really that mean? No, not Koizume at least. Koizume had been kind and gentle and welcoming. Finally, the other came into view. Just ahead of him, there. His running and excitement however came to a stop quickly when he noticed the others position. He looked, worried, angry, aybe evne frantic, which seemed strange sicne the other always seemed so calm. He slowed to a stop, especially when he noticed the fabric the other was holding in his arm. The coat? So he'd found it, that was a bit relieving. Now, he had become over come with guilt, he'd been very irresponsible and caused the other to come all the way out in the middle of then night for him.

He would make it up to him, he would do anything, he just wanted ot go back home with the other. Koizume was kind he would pet him and tell him it was alright, right? Still, it was an idea he was going to cling to. Alright, he begna to trot closer to the other, he wanted to go home. But a sudden growl from just behind him got his attention. He turned in time to see a huge dog, hurdling towards him just before he ran straight into him, knocking him back, and the two animals tumbled back a bit in the snow. No, hes right there, i'm so close! The white haired boy thought, Koizume was right there, if he turned his head slightly he would see Natsume. He couldn't let it end now, bracing himself, he tried to shoot past the other animal, just towards Koizume. Relieve rushed through him when he was finally close enough and made eye contact with the raven haired male, home. But he didn't make it, one second he was running towards te other, and the next he found himself toppling over into the snow again as the animal ran right into his and bite into his shoullder deeply, and he cried out for Koizume.

Koizumi heard a dog growl by his left side. He couldn't find Natsume anyway. For the first time in a long while he felt something he hadn't for a while, something that he thought he couldn't feel again: fear. He was scared he wouldn't be able to find the fox and not for any reason as petty as money because he didn't want anything bad to happen to the male, he didn't want him to be hurt. Maybe if he found him he would send the male back home, this place was too dangerous and Natsume was too sweet and innocent. Koizume hated himself for doing this to the other, he should have gotten a local pianist/ Someone who knows the area and what it is like, where to and where not to go. But he knew the thoughts were not real. He knew that if he had to do everything again he would still have hired Natsume, he was the best for the job. It was his own fault for falling asleep.

He heard the dog again but this time another squeal that certainly wasn't a dog. He could see it now from the corner of his eye. The dog pouncing on something smaller than it. He frowned and turned to look as the dog came hurtling towards him. He tried to smell the air but it just smelt of animal, neither were bleeding yet or he would know in an instant but he kind of wished there was blood, then he would know in an instant where Natsume was. The others blood smelt different from most humans, he hadn't actually smelt it fresh in the air but this morning he had felt it beneath his fingers and he could smell that sweet scent that was mixed with something almost pine like, it smelt like a pine forest. Koizume looked closer and walking towards the dog he let his fangs draw as if he were going to bite and his eyes turned deep blood red as he glared at the dog. He didn't even need to touch it, it could sense his anger without even looking at him but when it did the animals tail slipped between it's legs and it rand whimpering down the dark alleys. It was harder for Koizume to turn turn his eyes a normal colour and even harder for him to retract his fangs. It always was. That impossible mental struggle he went through to try and not bite someone when he wanted to. He swallowed and focused for a moment before slowly his eyes became normal and his fangs shortened though one could still see the tips. He couldn't do it completely, his mind was too distracted.

Looking over he saw a small fox sprawled on the street, slowly he approached the animal and crouched down his fingers reaching out and touching the nape of the animals neck. He felt the pulse. The heart beat was faster but it beat to the same rhythm and the contractions were of the same pressure. This was Natsume he was sure. Gently he picked up the male and held him to his fur coat. The other was cold. He sighed. "Stay like that." He said gently his voice loosing the anger that was there earlier and returning to his soft tone that fluctuated like music. "We'll talk later." He opened his coat breathing in sharply as his body was slapped with the cold but he bore with it as he tucked the little fox inside the fur and under his jacket so the male was nearly against his bare chest except for one thin layer of fabric. He did up all the layers and held his arm around his chest to support the other. He hoped his body heat and the fur was enough to warm the male again as he made his way back to the car.

As he walked he dialled in his phone and called the driver. "We'll discuss this in the morning but I have found him." He hung up.

Natsume was in shock, but at least he was alive. One moment he was underneath the large K9, and the next all was quiet. No growling, no one was yelling or throwing anything at him, it was just him and the icee wind. He wasn't fully aware of what was going on, he felt pressure on his neck, and then the ground dissappearing and behind replaced with something much warmer. Looking up, worn out eyes widened as he realized who it was that had picked him up, one thing rang through his mind. Koizume. Had he chased the dog off too? He expected the other to yell at him, curse him even, but instead, he heard Koizume's soft words, and felt himself being craddled to the vampires chest before being engulfed by warm fur. His eyes closed for a moment, and could feel himself begining to relax, he was safe. Koizume had come, he was going to take him home. Was he going to punish him, or send him home even? No, Natsume, despite the horrid city he had experienced now, wanted to stay with the other. His ears perked up a bit as he lifted his head , however shame washed over him once again and his ears drooped as he settled his face back into the others chest.

He could already feel himself warming up, his fur was flat, which felt goodconsidering it had been high on end for most of the night. Shifting slightly, he adjusted himself so he could climb up the others chest slightly, using his back paws to get traction by pushing up slightly against the arms that were holding him up, he raised himself slightly so that he could nuzzle his face into the others neck without having to leave the sanctuary of the warm fur to much. It was a small form of affection, and he knew theo ther probably didn't even want it, hell, the man probably didn't even want him know. But what he felt when he saw Koizume, was not what he thought of when he saw just anyone. He felt safe, like Koizume was someone that would protect him, someone he could return to. He'd been running and tossed around for hours, and was completely drained. Finally, he let himself relax completely and closed his eyes, falling asleep.

Koizume felt the small fox move further up his body and snuggle into the crock of his neck. He couldn't help the faint smile that tugged at his lips and started to release all the stress. The feeling of the warm fur of the male under his coat was somehow relaxing and he realised, quite to his astonishment, that his teeth were gone, they were the smooth , straight teeth that humans had. He breathed in the cold air and sighed letting his pace slow a little he walked no longer in any rush to get anywhere.

He had been so busy shouting and his ace so rapid while he was looking for Natsume that he hadn't realised how far from the car they were. He knew this was dangerous, this part of town wasn't the best even by the low standards usually abided by. He swallowed nervously, he didn't want to get into a fight now, he just wanted to get back home and fall asleep an regain those hours that had been so rudely and stupidly interrupted. He was still annoyed but that could wait for now.

Finally he reached the car and unlocked it before stepping in and turning the heating up. He considered removing his coat and setting thee other down on the adjacent seat but he could feel the steady pulse of blood through the fox's veins and knew he was asleep, the pulse was slowler, steady and the pressure lower. He wasn't surprised after everything that had happened recently it would surprise him more if the other wasn't asleep. Carefully, making sure the fox wouldn't slip from his position he removed his arm and put the car in gear changing his driving style slightly so it was smoother so as not to disturb Natsume.

The man watched as tall, black haired male transformed into a thing of mythical proportions. Even from deep in the alley, he could see the red eyes and sharp teeth, a vampire. He'd heard that there was a fox spirit somewhere nearby, and had sent his dog to go retrieve him, however this, was something he did not expect. The gruff, redheaded male remained kneeling, he had a barely shaven gotee, and wore large gages in both ears, his look clearly an omage to the olden days of fashion. A smile spread over his face, first he thought he could sell the fox spirit and make a fortune, especially in this area, no one had ever even seen one. But this, this was pure gold. A vampire. Fox spirits were rare here, if anything non existant, but vampires, those were supposedly non-existant everywhere. With this, hecould make the fortune of all fortunes.

He watched silently as the ravened haired male carefully plucked the fox from the ground and turned. Only after the other was far enough away, did he pull out his phone and make the call. "Jeffory, i've got news for you. Bring the whole gang, right now." To his relief, most of his gang were in the bar nearby, so they would be there in time. He was going to do it, he was going to catch a vampire. The trick however, was catching it alive. By the time Koizume had made it to the car, it was already surounded by the mend hiding in the shadows. "That thing managed to get attatched to a pet, this is why you should never let your guard down, boys." He murmured to two mend standing beside him. He waited just until the car was going fast enough for the driver to feel safe, and he aimed his gun, and shot.

The cars back tire popped and he watched as it swerved and hit a patch of ice, causing it to serve into a nearby parked car. "One more," Another shot went off, this one much louder, as his team mate fired a large exploding shell just under the car , the explosion was just big enough so send the already realing car unti the air, causing it to land upside down.

Koizumi didn't even have time to react. His body was too slow this late at night, if he had been his ussual alert self it would have been fine but he wasn't. He steered int the swerve trying to gain control but just when he thought he had it again another shot went off. He knew that was it. Letting go off everything he wrapped his arms around his chest and held the fox with one hand as he lowered his head to protect himself. He knew all the theory of crashing cars but when you put it to action it could go wrong. He just had to hope for the best as he felt gravity kick in and he was upsidedown. He was thankful for the true rally seatbelts in the car as he felt his shoulders and his carry all the weight of his body.

Carefully he undid the seatbelt and felt the ceiling impact with his shoulders. Climbing out the car he hit a button as he did and pulled a small object from a draw. He hoped Natsume was okay, the other would have to be aware for what he was about to explain. Reaching inside his coat he pulled the male out and put the small chip in his hand onto the others fur turning it on as he did. Whispering urgently he said "Natsume focus please. That chip is too high a pitch for humans to hear, the less sound it makes though the closer you are to my house. It will go silent when you walk in the right direction. I will distract them so run okay. I'll meet you at the house." The urgencybin his voice was almost desperate as he got out the car and encouraged ANatsume in the direction of the house while at the same time throwing a bomb in the vague direction where he could smell blood.

It exploded. His teeth lengthened and his eyes turned deep red at the smell. This would be brutal and his body wasn't ready but he might get a good meal out of this if he was lucky and careful. The wind hissed through his teeth and he shivered in anticipation.

Natsume felt himself jarred awake by a sudden yanking pressure, his eyes shot open and the first thign he felt, was warm. However, the second, was that something was severly wrong, he felt out of place. It took him a few moments to notice that he was upside down. Everything was quiet, besides the slow aching creak of the metal from the car. He was more than confused, why were they outside still? Why did Koizume look like that? His ears went straight up as his tail twsted franticaly while he tried to figure out what was going on. He was with the other, they were going home, know Koizume was setting him down in the snow and telling him to run home? He looked from Koizume, to behind them when he heard the crunch of foot steps on the snow.

8 Large men emerged from the shadows on top of the two who had come out already to shoot there guns. The red headed male had his gun aimed straight for Koizume's head until the bomb went off. Smoke filled the air and coughing and screaming ensued. He was scared. He just wanted to go home. Natsue ran behind the other and bit at his heels, and tugged on his pants leg, wanting him to come with him too. He didn't want to leave Koizume here, he came all the way here to save him, only to get stuck in this situation. However, Natsume was used to a life of peace, and calm surroundings, so he had no idea what to do or how to react in this situation. There was a loud click, before a hole appeared in the snow, just to his left. Someone was shooting. The fox dropped his hold on the others pants, and quickly back peddled, looking up he gave the vampire one last look before turning, and taking off in the other direction.

Running home from where they were, even as an animal, was going to take him two hours at least. So Koizume had two hours, if he wasn't home by the time Natsume got there, he was going to find help. Four small paws pounded into the snow as he quickened his pace, running towards the house, using the chip as a guide.

"Come on! We can make this nice and quick!" A voice called out to Koizume, it was the red head. "Before you injure any more of my men. What a story this will be, a great and powerful vampire is going to fall to measely little us, because he chose to come get his pet. What a waste." The red head emerged from the smoke, favoring one leg. "What about the fox, I don't see it?" One of his members called out, but the man just looked annoyed and shook his hand in dismisal. "It was just a fox, we have bigger fish to fry right now." He brought his attention back to the other and gave him a grim smle before the man to his left pulled out a cross boy and the one to his right pulled out a jar of what could only be assumed as holy water. "Now, let's see what your made of."

Katsumi grinned his long teeth showing, shining in the moonlight. This guy was right, they were small fry. Smash fry, but there were still a lot of them. He raised an eyebrow at the bottle of water and couldn't keep the smile from his lips "silly, very silly." He laughed out. He was glad for their foolishness though, it might just be the thing that saves his life. These things in stories couldn't be further from the truth. Stupidities like silver bullets and cross bows were ask fantasy. A bullet could kill him like it killed anyone else the difference is that vampires can slow their body down so they appear dead and while in such a state they can heal.

If these men had ignored the stories they probably would have escaped with their lives tonight but koizumi was in a bad mood before and it had been made worse. He tilted his head as he inspected the crossbow that was being loaded and aimed at him: too slow. The holy water: too stupid. The command: he had a limp now, he wouldn't last long.

Koizumi ran to the left but fiented and light on his feet moved right. His footsteps were silent and his movements quick although they weren't as quick as they needed to be. Running at a man he picked him up and bit into his neck sucking deeply into the bloodstream. The blood was hot, it burned in his veins, a burning he hadn't felt in so long. The taste was like fire a sightly charcoal aftertaste, but that was only this man. He took another long draught before forcing his fingers to drop the man, he had stood still for more than five seconds and rule due if he stood for more. Add the man fell his swooped his right hand out and his long, sharp nails sliced the others neck across the bite marks. This way no one could fantasise about vampire killings. Better safe than sorry.

He moved on. The speed at which he ran increased dramatically. His eyes were more alert, he could see everything in the darkness as if it were day. The new blood rushing through his veins allowed him to smell every male in the area, they all smelt of blood and he wanted it.

Natsume continued his run, but soon found himself slowing to a stop when he heard another gun shot go off. Was the other really going to be alright by himself? He'd come all this way and Natsume had just left him to fight by himself, it was the foxes fault the other was in that situation anyway. If he weren't coming to save the white haired boy, then he would not have been out, or there at that time of night. He shook his head to clear the doubts, and once again picked up his speed. He was going to trust Koizume, if he said he would be home then he would be home. The snow never seemed to stop int hie country, wind smacked him and caused him to topple over a few times, once into a nearby snow bank causing him to hiss slightly in agitation.

For the most part, he was lucky for it though, since the wind haze made it difficult to see a white fox, he was able to avoid any humans seeing him. It didn't take to long to get out of the city and everything was dark, calmer even in the long stretch of woods that led to the others houses. Somehow, this was almost worse though. It was darker, much darker here. Though he was able to use the tracking device still embedded in his fur to find his way, he kept stumbling over things nd ended up awalking face first into a tree at some point. Grumbling he used a paw to wipe the front of his face to soothe it before resuming. After what felt like an eternty, his ears perked as he saw a faint light, rushing forward as best he could in the deep snow, he saw the house. Alright ,next problem, he was a fox. He couldn't open the damned door, and if he turned back into his body and the door ended up being locked he was going to freeze to death in minutes.

Scratching at the door, he waited to see if the other was home yet, and going to let him in, but to his dissapointment, there was no answer. He was freezing in every sense for the word, aching, and worried, he didn't even want to know how badly bruised he was going to be when he saw his human face and body. That was a problem for later, for now, he needed to get warm and wait. He trotted around to the side to look for a window and jumped up onto the sill, but of course, the damn thing was locked. I would have been pointless to go back to his house, it was likely in the same state. A burst of wind knocked him off however and toppling back intk the snow he went. He closed his eyes tightly as the harsh wind pressure stung his eyes, his ears flat against his head as his tails rose to cover himseld. Hunkering down into a very tight ball, he waited for Koizume right in front of the door.

---

A man with a green hat and blonde hair was far away from the fight, having taken off in the begining, he knew it was a bad idea. "We should have just taken the fox, skinned it and left it at that." He mumbled, knowing fully well that his friends and mates were likely being torn to shreds by that thing. Even if it was there own stuidity that got them into the mess, he was going to make the vampire pay, he just needed to figure out how.

Koizumi rushed at another man, his thirst for blood driving him as he went for the one with the crossbow. Before the other could even react the bow as flying through the air only to hit the limping man across the joints of his legs, the male toppled with a scream. The scent of blood filled the air; that one would never walk again. Returning his attention to the one that had held the crossbow he stood in front of him and his hand snatched at the other neck. He lifted him of the floor intending to kill him and drink his blood.

Suddenly he saw what he was doing. He had sworn he wouldn't do this. Wouldn't become this person. Pain rushed through him as he saw his work. Not physical pain, nothing that simple. This was mental pain and it hurt so much more. He dropped the male, letting him fall to the floor in a crumpled heap, still alive but only because of koizumis sudden realisation. He groaned trying to ignore the man inside him that wanted more.

Taking a deep breath koizumi knew what he had to do. Slolwy he approached each man there and made sure none would ever walk well enough to hunt him again. A jab to the spine here; paralysis, a strong kick to a leg there; shattered bone. It didn't take long. Hopefully emergency vehicles would arrive soon for them after hearing the commotion and gun shots. Koizumi left of silents footsteps. He wanted to get back to Natsume quickly. To hold him close and apologise. Apologise for everything.

He had to take a deep breath to steady his nerves as he ran. It had been a long long time since he had lost control like that. He ran from them as he had run from her many years before. As fast as he could. Not even noticing the frees. Not even noticing the darkness.

He reached the house, he was breathing heavily. Even with his vampire speed he had just run insanely fast. He looked into the house noting that thew lights were off and so no one was in. He frowned wondering where koizumi had gotten too and fearing for his safety. How long had he taken? He didn't even know. He didn't even have a rough estimate. It could have been minutes or hours. He swallowed nervously as he approached the door. His foot was about to go down when he noticed how the snow was indented, that was not like that earlier nor should it be now. He frowned and croutxhed as. He pushed the thing layer of snow away to reveal a small fox. Koizumi sighed relieved. Gently he picked the other up and unlocked the front door Immidiatly locking it again and going upstairs to his room where. He tucked the other into his bed and started lighting a fire only now realising how cold he was, he had lost the fur coat in the fight. When the flames were roaring he turned around and let the ruined clothes fall from his body.

Natsume was absolutely frozen, he felt miserable. Physically he was aching, but even more so emotionally. His worry for the other was debilitating. What if he wasn't okay? What if they got him? What if he was being torn to bits now? What if he was dead and Natsume was never going to get to see him again? He could still feel the way the others arms had held him clsoe when he found hi, he didn't want to believe that he might never see him again, and it would have been his fault. Despite how determined he had been to stay alert, he couldn't keep it up. Once again, he foult that familar touch, and the cold quickly began to receed. He shifted in his grip and then it hit him. Koizume was home, if he could move a bit better he would have absolutely gone on a frenzy climbing all over the other and councing aorund but his body was just to stiff.

He felt the warmth of Koizume dissappear when he was put into the bed, and he couldn't help but already begin missing it. Carefully, after a few moments of warming up, he was abel to move a bit more freely. Once he could, he carefully climbed out of the covers the other had placed him in and did what he had wanted to do all night. Jumping off the bed he skittered and skidded slightly on the floor, the polished finish manking his small claws have less traction when he tried to go to fast. Once he regrained his footing, he bound over to Koizume and went straight towards his feet, knuzzling aginst his legs and going up on his back paws and using his front two paws to keep himself up right, looking up at the other his tail began to flick and swish quickly.

He turned around and ran in a few circles before returning to his spot beside the othe. He didn't remember the time he waslast this happy. Howeer, his relief party was short lived, however, when all of the nights events hit him at once and he remmebered how much trouble he was likely in. His ears and tail with drooped and he turned back towards the bed, speeding up a bit so he could leap up onto it, then quickly slinking his ways back under the covers and putting his head on his paws. He did not wanting to face the vampire at all right now, he was just to ashamed at all the trouble he had caused.

Koizumi smiled as he felt the soft fur against his legs. He was glad the other wasn't hurt too badly and could still move about. Despite the days events he nearly laughed as the other stood on two legs against him, it was so cute and the way his tails swished against the floor was adorable. He felt his teeth finally retract as he was calmed down by the other even though his eyes still glowed a deep blood red.

He saw the other skitter away and could feel the reason. He knew he had wanted to reprimand the other but now he wanted to sleep, such things could wait until morning. Seeing the fire was rising now koizumi put another couple of large lathes onto it before he walked over to the bed. He would have changed into some night clothes but the will power for such things had left him so he just got into bed beside the little fox wearing only his underwear.

The vampire sighed audibly when he relaxed into the soft pillows, his hand stretched out across the bed until he found Natsume hiding under the covers with his ears back. Katsumi gently stroked the other from head to tail before affectionately scratching the back of his neck and stroking the top of the fox's head. Somehow the action made him feel a little better, a little more relaxed.

Natsume was shocked when he heard no words from the other, he didn't think that the vampire was going to yell at him, he had to much class. But was he even going to scold him? Or maybe he wanted to give him the silent treatment? The fox let out a big puff of air in a sigh, that didn't seem right either. He had actally laughed and smiled at the other, it was a sight he'd been wanting to see all night. Maybe Koizume understood that he didn't mean any harm, he just got over excited.

He heard a small whoosh of hair as the fire picked him, but remained under the covers. Despite not sad, he felt amazing, the covers were warm and soft and the air here smelled familiar to him already. He didn't hear any foot steps, but felt the bed dip a bit under the weight of someone climbing onto it which got his attention. Was Koizume going to stay with him? Despite being safe and sound in the others home, he was honestly still a bit scared, everything he had seen that night had just built up on him, so the other would certainly have been a welcoming comfort.

He laid still as he felt the bed shift a bit more as the other distributed his weight, meaning he was laying down. The vampires body became barely visible under the covers beside him, and if he could have, his ears would have got red. There before him was Koiume, only it looked like he was only in his underwear. He averted his eyes, but not before he saw how well built and toned the other was. He shifted back a bit when he saw theh and coming towards him. Was he going to get tossed out of bed? But to his surprise, he felt he large, familiar hand petting him. Koizume really was amazing and kind. He closed his eyes and nudged his head into the others hand slightly as he enjoyed the treatment. Afte a few moments, he climbed back to his feet and leaned back a bit so he could stretch out sleepiy. MAking his way through the covers, he climbed up ontop of Koizume's stomach and crawled up his chest before finally slipping his head out, his ears perked up. Walking up and over the other, he made his way just beside Koizume's neck and circled around in his spot once before laying back down in a circle, letting his head rest on the vampires chest and the rest of him in a circle between his head and shoulder. Finally content, he closed his eyes and fell asleep.

Koizumi smiled as he felt the other move into his hand. He found it very endearing when the other affectionately nuzzled into his fingers. He felt better like this as his doubts and fear slowly began to melt away and the room began to warm up. He felt the other move and shifted his hand away assuming the male probably didnt want to be this close to the vampire.

When he felt soft fur against his stomach and gentle, light paws stepping on his skin he was a little surprised having not expected anything like that to happen. Still he was released that the other didn't hate him and didnt mind being this close to him. He gently petted the other before feeling the soft fur glid over his skin towards his neck. He stiffened briefly before relaxing again. He wasn't used to things being that close to his neck, it made him feel vanerable but as the other lay down with his head on his chest he relaxed again. It surprised him that he felt comfortable being so close to the fox, normally he wouldn't let anyone this close for fear they would try and stab him in the back while he wasn't watching but maybe it was just the fact that Natsume was a fox at the moment.

He let the thought slip from his mind as he fell asleep. He was vaugly aware that his hair was still tied up but he wasn't about to wake himself up to take it out so he just ignored it. It wasn't long before koizumi was fast asleep, his heart rate slowing to nothing, only the occasional soft thump that kept him alive, his body felt much better after the drink he had had that evening. He wouldn't admit it though.

Natsume was he first to wake up, shifting slightly, his eyes peeked openand he looked around for a moment in confusion. Helf felt a soft, steady warm puff of air behind him, and glanced over to come face ot face with once again, a sleeping Koizume. He jumped up quickly, startled, but within seconds remembered what had happened and that he had fallen asleep night tot he other last night, mainly becuase the closer he was to Koizume, the safer he felt. Sitting back, he glanced around the room, the window as lettin in a dim, grey light, because of the constant cloudy weather, so he could only gues what time it was.

Well, first thing first, he needed to get back to human shape and see the damage last nights activities had done to him, but before that, he was going to need clothes. But after he lost the others extremely nice jacket, he didn't really want to even go near the vampires clothes at this point. Making his way to the edge of the bed, his paws dipped into the blankets with heach step, he jumped down to the floor. Wincing slightly and stumbling, as he noted how much his shoulder joint ached. It took him a moment to remmeber what had happened with the dog, but he was at least relieved that Koizume had been there before it had peirced the skin, so he had no chance of it getting in fected in the long run. Walking around the bed, he padding down the hall until he made his way all the way back to the closet he had previousy visited. Looking around to make sure the other was no where to be seen, he shifted back and within moment, the white haired boy was standing back up and using his hand to brush his hair back. Reaching back, he stretched out finially bac with opposible thumbs.

He began to search through the closet for something he could wear, not wanting to pikc anything to nice. He settled on a pair of under wear he found, and simply slipped on what looked to be a large, white colared shirt that probbaly went under some kind of expensive suit, but was nothing more than a masic under shirt with cuffs. He slipped it on, and brushed t out,it went down to just above his knees. Well, this as the best he could do. Content with this he then made his way to a bathrom which took him a decent amount of time to find. But what he saw in the mirror was a bit of shock. His right cheek was red and bruised, and he could see by the open coloar that there were dark, circular purple marks from where the dog had gotten him. Reaching down, he lifted the shirt a bit to reveal varying bruises covering his torse. Looking down at his fingers, he saw that they were scratched up and caked with dirt and cried blood from all his running.

Sighing to himself, he figured it better to at least get cleaned up first, a bit ashamed that he had fallen asleep on Koizume apparently covered in all of this dirt. Making his way to the room with the large bath in it, he removed the clothing he had found, and sunk into the water, sighing contently. He began to wash and scrub himself, and before long, he was once again smooth and clean. Climbing up nd out, he pulled on his clothes again, and made his way down to the kitchen to see if he could make some breakfast for Koizume.

When koizumi woke the other was gone. His first thought was to panic that the male had left again but after a few seconds he calmed himself a taking a deep breath he smelled the air. Natsume was here. He could smell the blood. It was obvious the male had hurt himself last night but that didn't surprise katsumi, he had hurt himself as well though undoubtedly not as badly.

Shifting he deliberated over getting out of bed. He was comfortable and knew as soon as he got uonhis body would be aching but he felt dirty as well and really wanted to bath the blood of himself. He could still aste the blood on his lips from last night and he hated it, hated the fact that he had killed someone when he promised himself he never would. He tried to justify it to himself but he couldn't, even the fact that he could have very easily died if he had it done it couldn't console him.

He had to get the blood of himself. Shifting he swung his legs over the edge of the bed and got out trying to ignore the pain in his muscles, he deserved it for what he had done. He sighed and made his way to the bath pulling the hair tie from his hair as he did and letting it fall down to his waist. He wanted to make a cup of tea first but he might run into Natsume and he couldn't face that yet so he just went for a bath to try and wash everything of his body.

Natsume was making an absolute mess, he forgot something rather important, he was a horrible cook. The vampire didn't have much food he noticed, though of course that made sense since he was a vampire of course. So he already had limited options, and he had managed to spill a large amount of the ingredients. There was flower covering the counter, and paper towels all over the place. In the end, he was left with a simple set of sandwiches.

Sighing to himself, his ears twitched lightly in annoyance, he had wanted to make the other a nice breakfast but he felt like he failed. Rinsing everything off, he looked over everything to make sure it was clean before picking up a large plate he found and setting both sandwhiches on it. Carefuly, he then put the tea he had stooped onto it, and made his way upstairs. Pushing open the others door, he poked his head in and looked to the bed. "Excuse me, I made bre-." He stopped, frowning when he noticed that the other was not there. Did he get up to go somewhere? Holding the tray closer, he looked around for a moment.

His ears perked up slightly, he listened for the other but heard nothing. But again, it's not like vampires spent there time thundering around houses. Turning around, he made his way back to the kitchen and set the platter down on the table. Leaning over he sat in one of the large chairs and leaned forward in it, putting his head on the table, he began to trace circles on the mug beside him. This is what he was afraid of from the begining, Koizume was a big important writer, he had al ife, he wasn't going to be able to spend so much time with someone he just hired for music. The idea of not getting to see the other often made his ears droop a bit. He'd grown to find comfort in the others presence.

Katsumi sank into the water but soon found that he couldn't enjoy the relaxing heat this morning and it did nothing to ease the tension in his muscles. He could feel how tight his pack was with worry and stress but the water didn't help. Sighing in frustration he grabbed the soap and sscrubbed vigorously at his skin trying to wash the blood of himself and the stress of the previous day.

Katsumi sscrubbed at his body until his skin was pink trying to wash away what wasn't there. When he finally stopped he knew his skin was a little raw but it would heal quickly enough, the fresh blood causing though his veins was speeding up his metabolism and healing his body. After washing his hair katsumi got out the bath and wrapped a towel around his waist before going to find some fresh clothes. Something that would make him feel like himself again.

Going to the clothes room koizumi opened one of the smoothly sliding doors and picked out some black, neatly ironed trousers before going to another and took out a Chinese silk jacket, the type that was traditional of Chinese men. The green was deep with an embroidered pattern snaking up the front along the buttons. Koizumi went over to the mirror and picked up the simple wooden hair chopsticks from the table. He coiled his wet hair up into a neat bun and slipped the chopsticks through to hold his hair in place leaving only two small strands out that crammed his face on ear side. He didn't want his damp hair to ruin the silk of the clothes after all. He quickly dressed before going downstairs still feeling dirty but a little more like himself.

He intended to make a cup of tea and then go and write or read, anything to get him away from his own torturous mind. As he walked in he noticed the other and nodded. He couldn't bring a smile to his lips in his current mood no qmatter how hard he tried. "Morning." He said quietly, all the music gone from his voice. It was as if he had gone back in time to that day many years ago when she had...he stopped himself. He couldn't think about that. Not now. Now wasn't the same.

Natsume was to busy tracing circles on the table to notice the others foot steps until he was already in the room, He jumped slightly at the sudden voice, but immediately knew who it was. His ears perked up and he turned in his hair smiling, "Good mor-," He stopped as soon as he got a look at the other, he didn't look right but at the same time, he did not look wrong. His hair seemed clean, as he walked in a fresh scent followed him, his clothes looked freash as did his skin. But at the same time, a light seemed to be gone from him somehow, he seemed less soft, he didn't seem hard either. Lifeless, was more of the word. His ears drooped a bit s he remained silent, watching him for a moment before continuing. "Good morning." He smiled, though albiet a bit forced.

Stepping to the side a bit, he motioned to the food on the table. "Ah, Imade breakfast. Well, lunch maybe, i'm not sure what time it is. It's just a sandwhich, and some tea. I tried to make something better but it didn't go so well. All we really eat where I am from is produce, so there isn't much cooking involved. " His ears were perked back up as he ran past the other and got proper plates, setting them about the table, making sure not to look at Koizume. He had been wrong. Last night, he watched Koizume smile at him and pet him. He remembered how reassured and safe he had felt with the other, when he was picked up out of the snow and held close to him. He'd thought that everything was going to be fine but it clearly was not.

He didn't dare sneak a glance at the beautiful vampire in the room, he didn't want to see eyes of anger or dissapointment, though all he had seen earlier was bland, lifeless ones, and he wasn't sure which was worse to be honest. What had hapend last night after he ran away? Was the other hurt? He didn't seem to be favoring any particular body part. Taking his seat, he reached over and took one of the tea cups, then he realized how rude he was being. The other was avampire, he didn't need food, he probably had it painly for decoration, and Natsume had wasted it, he didn't evne ask if the other wanted anything. He'd taken yet another article o clothing, used theothers bath water, taken all of his kindess and in return given the other one or two songs. He was supposed to be an employee, that is it.

But he didn't want to leave Koizume like this, he lookedfine but at the same time not at all. He didn't give theo ther a chance to speak before pushing himself up from the table. "I'm sorry, I got ahead of myself and caused you trouble last night and this morning. I'll just get out of your hair and you can call me whenever you want me to play somethign for you. I'll leave the clothes here." He spoke, and went to walk past the other, one second he was there and the next he was a fox again, skittering to the front door, leaving the clothing he had one in a pile as it fell off his body.
