Key-Tokki
The echo of pounding feet sounded through the halls, a small boy was being led, practically dragged, by a larger man, the resemblance made it clear that they were father and son. Huffs escaped there lips as they continued to run, faster, faster, hurry. "We have to hurry, Erium, if they catch us we will be killed and everything will be distroyed! Faster!" He yelled and the small boys bright green eyes widened as he tried his best to pound those little feet quicker just as the sound of shooting echo'ed somewhere behind them. "There!" The man screamed out as a large metal door came into view, the safe room, he would have to do it now. Bursting into the room at a dead run, he used all of his weight to shove the door shut behind him, it clicked into place. The titanium would last for now, gun shots could be heard on the other side of it, bouncing off of the well made door. With only a seconds pause, the man stopped and knelt beside his wide eyed son. "Listen, I need you to be brave for your daddy right, alright? I promised to take care of you, and I meant it. We, you and me together, can help make a difference." As he stated this the boy began to cry as he was led to the middle of a large drawn out circle on the floor, with various scribbles and symbles drawn all around it. Reaching into his pocket, he removed a small, simple red stone, no one would ever have guessed this small stone could hold the earths future. Putting it into the boys hands, he closed the tinny fingers around this. "This is everything, Erium, this is our future. Hold onto it." With that, he wrapped his arms around the young, quacking boy one last time and whispered in his ear. "I love you." Standing up he stepped outside of the circle, leaving his son in the middle of it and the chat began. An explosion went off in the small room, and just like that, the little boy and the man were no more. 10 years later The ever present smile was on Alcor's lips as he stood, watching two young boys playing tag in the park. His pure white eye lashes stood out In such a small place, it was inevitably that one of them would be tagged eventually, so why dely it? Why continue to run around if in the end, you will just become it? Yet another one of lifes questions flashed through his mind, a small laugh eliciting as he watched one of them finally cut off the other and just like that, the second boy was tagged. "How unpredictable." He spoke softly to himself, a slight teasing to his tone. A low bell sounded, which alerted Alcor to the ever passing time. It was nearly 7, getting late. He had come here in search for a certain alchemist that he had heard much about, turning away from the playground he began to make his way to the outskirts of town. After a short while he found himself standing outside of the address he had, reaching up, he knocked on the door. If the man wasn't home, then he had no idea what he was to do next. Gladis
His house was a mess; his clothes were a mess and his hair was a mess. Everything about Julien was a mess. Having fallen asleep with his nose quite literarily in a book, his posture was all but elegant. Nor was really the rest of his house. Used dishes were piling in and around the kitchen sink, appearing to be in desperate need to be cleaned. Between piles and piles of books (aka, everything he hadn’t been able to fit into one of the many bookshelves lining the majority of the walls in his cramped, two story house), one could find all sorts of treasures — among which dirty clothes unfortunately happened to be the most common. Once in a while Julien would take his time to gather all of it and bring it down to the laundry room in the basement. It was perhaps time to do that soon. The kitchen table at which Julien happened to be seated at the moment (or rather, bent over with an open book serving as his pillow), was littered with numerous empty tea cups and more books. Most of them had in one way or another to do with alchemy, though certainly not all of them. All of the curtains had been carefully closed, meaning that even if someone would even be mildly interested in seeing what was going on in the shabby old house, no one would be able to. The downside to this was that it also prevented any sunlight from slipping through the windows, which may explain the alchemists pale and rather unhealthy looking complexion. Additionally, Julien had made sure to place pillows around the edges of all doors leading to the outside, in turn making it extremely difficult for anyone to eavesdrop on whatever was going on inside (why now anyone would be interested in doing that). Resting on top of one of the bookshelves, curled into a fussy ball was a large, grayish cat. Another, slightly smaller and completely black cat had made itself comfortable on the sofa in the living room (among a pile of multi colored socks). There was also a bowl with a goldfish, which looked surprisingly clean. It was the sound of someone knocking on the door that woke Julien from his perhaps much needed slumber. Groaning softly he sat up in his seat and stretched, a wide yawn escaping his lips. Considering the position he’d been sleeping in, it wasn’t strange to imagine that he was feeling rather stiff. The professor glanced around rather blearily, trying to gather what was going on. Once again the sound of someone knocking on the house door reached his ears, finally causing the alchemist to spring into action. Hurriedly he fumbled around the table, trying to locate his glasses and nearly knocking over an empty tea cup in the process. After a brief moment of panicked searching, he realized that they were resting upon his head. ”How frustrating,” he muttered irritably to himself as he hurried out of the kitchen and through the narrow hallway, all the way to the front door. He took a moment to peer into the tiny peephole in the door, a slight frown painting his pale features as he tried to register who this stranger may be. White hair and white eye lashes, yet he didn’t look particularly old. Peculiar indeed. What if it's a trap? a tiny voice whispered in the back of his mind, almost causing Julien to simply pretend not to be home. He wasn't very good at dealing with people anyway. Yet for some reason he couldn't explain, he felt obligated to at least hear what this lad wanted from him... so with a somewhat quivering hand, he carefully undid the many locks he'd installed (just in case) and opened the door just enough to peek his head outside. Despite the fact that it was evening, Julien felt the need to squint his eyes at the light he wasn't really used to. Even if he was forced to leave the house at least once a week to buy his groceries, he'd still spent several days in darkness. "H-hello?" he greeted wearily, focusing his sky blue orbs on the strange looking young man.
Key-Tokki
Alcor could hear shuffling from inside, so took a step back, however a few whispers distracted him. Glancing over his shoulder, he saw two elder women who must have been walking there dogs. Both were wrinkled and haggered, looking a bit bent over as well, no doubt warn from age. The way humans aged, he just thought was amazing, how they could go from such smooth, soft creatures to such calloused, harsh ones. His simply occupying this body, has slowly the aging process slightly, making the boy look younger than he actually was. He heard the two women begin whispering again, and quieted his thoughts so that he could hear them. "That mad, what strange hair....is he visiting the shut in?" The slightly younger looking one shook her head in dissapointment. "All he does is sit in that god forsaken house all day, doing lord knows what. Agitha, I heard he sommons deamons. What if we have a satan worshipper in our community and don't even know it!" The women yelled, louder than neccicary, wit ha melodramatic look on her face. "Do humans really get so bored that they have to occupy there time with meaningless rumors?" He murmured softly, a slow smile spreading across his face as he had an idea. Turning around where he stood, he reached his hand up and waved over to them. They both haulted in there tracks, looking at each other then looking at him wide-eyed, clear shame registered in there face. Waiting until both of there attention was on him, he allowed himself to float three inches upward. It was extremely hard for him to walk like a human, so usually he would just hover accept for when he absolutely needed to walk whichwas only around humans. Wit hair as white as snow, and eye lashes that were pure white as well, he looked inhuman enough, the floating was more for his own ammusement than theres. He did not even have to say a word as the two woman took of screaming, there dogs running after them. Only after they were far down the road did he finally hear the shifting, now closed to the door. Turning his attention back towards the door, he watched as it was creeped open. Revealing no more than sliver of the others face and a beautiful blue eye that was glancing over him warily. He could instantly feel this mans power, or at least he had the ability to have great power. It was clear that this strange individual had yet to unlock it all. With no reservations, Alcor spoke, even for a human his voice was extremely soft and light. "Ah, hello there. I have been looking for you, you know, you are a rather hard man to find." The white haired male had still not lowered himself to the ground, and he could hear a car coming up the road, so instead of lowering himself, he simply put hand on the other mans door while speaking. "May I come inside?" Though he was asking polietly, he pushed the door back suddenly, surprising the other and straight into the others house he went. Hovering just above the ground as he glanced around the place. "Well ,this is very charming. You chose to live in a place like this, when you could also live in an immaculate house, clean of any mess. Why is that?" Alcor questioned curiously, completely on a roll as he continued to speak. "Oh, how rude of me. How about this, I will tell you what I have come for so we can just get that out in the open. Then, after we discuss it, you can allow me the pleasure of answering a few of my questions? You seem so unusual." His voice was light and excited, as he continued to hover in place. "If you have any tea, you could make us some, and I may have the chance to explain?"
Gladis
Floating. The kid was floating. What baffled and perhaps also horrified Julien slightly wasn't the fact that the boy was floating in mid air – seemingly completely unconcerned about his surroundings. It was precisely the latter. The boy was pulling stunts in public; something which surely would only draw more attention to Julien. It was a notion that all but pleased he alchemist hermit. As far as he knew, people were already talking about him. Now they would definitely start spreading rumors – and if Julien had any of his usual luck, chances were that they may find out about his whereabouts. The blond parted his lips to speak, though was quickly and quite impudently interrupted by the younger man; asking if he may enter. Letting him inside was better than having him keep on floating around on his doorstep – yet Julien was not even given enough time to answer before the kid shoved open the door. Julien stumbled back of a few steps, still not quite sure how to handle the situation as he stared at the boy in stunned silence. Then he came to his senses. Hurriedly he glanced around briefly before slamming the door shut, leaning his back against it as he tried to calm his abnormally fast breathing. "A-are you completely out of your mind?!" he hissed, ignoring just about everything else the white headed boy had just said. "D-don't you go around f-floating in public!" Julien looked absolutely panicked, tugging his slender fingers through his long, blonde hair in frustration. "W-wait," another terrifying thought came to his mind. What if it was a spy? An assassin? Someone sent to steal his secrets? "Who exactly a-are you?" he was grinding his hands together quite nervously, trying to think of all the places he was hiding his weapons – just in case. "Answers first, tea later," he added quite sternly, watching the boy with an intense weariness. His heart was racing, yet he actually managed to keep up an unwavering expression. Key-Tokki
Alcor watched the other, he seemed to be in a panicked tizzy, which was pretty entertaining for the latter. He watched, silently smiling, as the other stuttered and stammered through a sentence. The idea of floating or hovering was not knew to humans, they used it in comics and movies and even books, countless times. The white haired boy simply could not under stand why humans always reacted the way they did, if one of them floated up to him he would be more than welcoming, so why did they always insist on having a a poor reaction. Frowning slightly when the man ordered him not to float, he simply crossed his legs and lowered himself the the floor so he was sitting Indian style. Resting an elbow on his knee he leaned his hand against his palm as he continued to observe him, making a point to wait to continue until the human had properly calmed down. However, when he saw that this was clearly not going to happen, he figured he should go ahead anyway. "Who am I?" He repeated, not surprised by the question, humans were the same. Who are you? What do you want? The monies in the back! The stone had a bad habbit of wondering into others homes, but who could blame him? He was lonely, and humans were just so interesting, there reactions, the choices, that is what he loved the most. The fact that they had choices, opportunities, possibilities. What they could do was absolutely endless, if only the simple creatures could see that for themselves. "Well," He began, his tone as cheery as ever as he recounted the others questions. "Am I out of my mind? In human terms, perhaps. But I think I am right in the mind I need to be in, so that is all a matter of opinion. Also, I float sometimes, it happens. Walking as a human is to confusing, knowing which foot to use first, how much pressure to apply, it is all to much of a head ache. Relax, I was not seen, except for the women. There are many ways to answer that question, but I am Alcor, I actually need a bit of assitance from you, and I can assure you the reward will be great." Within a moment, the white haired boy pushed himself up from the ground with his hands and was now hovering directly in front of the other. From this distance he could see how beautiful this human was, he seemed well put together in the least. "No, if you don't mind, some green tea?" He added, holding his hands up in a respectful praying manor.
Gladis
Now when they were actually inside, Julien couldn't have cared less if the kid turned blue and grew three extra arms. Strange as it may be, Julien could deal with the floating. For some reason, none of that actually surprised him. Perhaps because he'd been spending the majority of his life studying alchemy; a trade in which a lot of oddities occurred. The boy didn't seem like some kind of spy or agent – though Julien still wasn't going to dismiss the possibility that he may be. At the very least he should relax, if just slightly, while still staying on his guard. His breathing calmed down and he straightened up, beginning to lock the door as he listened to the boy's words. Julien had already noted that he seemed very talkative. In human terms... The alchemist froze. In human terms? Did that mean this boy wasn't human? Suddenly every ounce of nervous mannerism expressed by the alchemist were like blown away. The alchemist had moved so quickly, it almost seemed as though he were inhuman himself. With his face only inches away from the strangers, he narrowed his blue eyes as he examined him carefully. "Are you an alien?" he asked, his eyes seeming to glint with almost hopeful excitement, "an esper?" frowning, he straightened up, putting some space between them as he dramatically tapped his forehead in thought, "n-no no... don't tell me. You're a-a deamon! A ghost who's come to haunt me?!" even if a normal person wouldn't have felt particularly excited at the prospect of being haunted by a ghost, Julien seemed thrilled at the thought. Oh how hopelessly easily distracted he could be... "I-I'm sure it'll be fine!" Waving his hand in dismissal at the fact that the two women had seen him (something Julien would most likely be agonizing over latest when he went to bed), he shuffled back into the kitchen, starting to clear the table to the best of his abilities. With nowhere else to put the used tea and coffee cups, other than piling them on the other, already piled dishes... well, it made for a very unstable looking pyramid like formation. The books he had to put on equally unstable looking piles of other books – more multicolored socks sticking out between them. Julien really would need to take his time to clean this place at some point. Due to never letting any air inside, it had become sort of stuffy and unpleasant too. Julien had never really payed it any mind until... well... now, when he had a guest. "Uh-uhm... I don't usually have a lot of people visit me so i-it's kind of messy... s-sorry about that," laughing nervously, he rubbed the back of his head before filling a tea kettle with minor complications (due to the piling dishes) and placing it on his hearth. "I-I don't have any green tea at the moment... will a n-normal black do?"
Key-Tokki
Alcor was more than entertained, the only people who ever seemed to share his excitement for, well, not walking, where children he would see. He had once lifted three children up at once, hovering just slightly over the ground, and even though they were clearly in no danger the parents had thrown a huge fit. Throwing things at him, hell even the cops were called, all when he was just making there young ones happy. Truly emotional creatures, humans were. He watched silently as the human began to collected himself, there was a dim golden glow around the other at times, it was clear to Alcor that if anyone could help him with his predicament, it would be this man. He had shifted back a good foot or two, his hands dropped from there mock praying as he crossed his long arms over his chest and continued to observe the gears turn in the others head. Even Alcor was caught off guard by the others sudden change in attitude, somehow, even if just for a moment, the human seemed to have gotten himself together. Then before Alcor could even blink, the blonde was directly in his face, staring right at him. The ever present smile the younger boy usually wore dropped for a moment when he was caught off guard by the sudden actions. He did not move until the other had backed up a bit, the smile returning to his face as he let out a laugh, this human was really something else. "A demon? No, I am neither a demon, esper, ghost or an alien. I am Alcor, and you may call me Alcor." The white haired boy said, as though threat were the only explanation the other needed. Watchign the alchemist make his way to the kitchen, Alcor fallowed quietly, taking in the charming little house all the while. It certainly had that lived in feel, stopping beside the table he observed the dishes and cups and was actually impressed. To be able to stack so many clearly breakable items so high with no concern was clearly a talent that should not be over looked. He remembered once, watching two old humans sitting around a table play a game called Jenga, or something like that. It consisted of a bunch of blocks, being stacked on a tower, and you had to remove a block one at a time, the one who removed a block that caused the tower to fall was the looser. Maybe this set up was a way for the human to practice for the game? Reaching out with a slender finger, he carefully knocked a cup out of place, the entire stack shook for a moment and leaned a bit, threatening to fall but to Alcors emense relief stayed up right. Holding the cup in the air he called out, "I think I have won this challenge!" Within moments, he had set the cup on the table and was standing beside the other. Putting his face a close distance from the kettle so he could see his reflection in it, he smiled before resoonding. "If I had human friends, I would have them visit me often. The world gets lonely traveling it by yourself, do you not think?" After he finished his statement, he looked at the blonde, the smile still on his face but his tone more direct now. "I am in a bit of a predicament, you see. I don't know if you have heard of the Philosipher stone, though it is a common story now. Remember back when it was used to cure cancer, and then dissapeared from the world? It dissapeared because the alchemist that originally forged it, merged it together with a living human so that it could defend itself and keep from being used as a weapon. But you see, this body was young, and i'm afraid that trying to contain me, it's dying. I can feel this body, dying. Alchemist, I need you to figure out how to remove me from the boys body, if it dies with me in it I don't know what will happen." He finished, as though he had completely explained everything. "Oh, and yes, black tea will do just fine."
Gladis
Almost feeling slightly disappointed that all of his guesses had been wrong, the alchemist pushed out his lips in a slight pout. Peculiar as he was, his guest had at least managed to catch Julien's interest. Even if he as an alchemist could dismiss the floating as a 'phenomena which may occur under the right circumstances', the scientist within him wanted to find out what exactly had made it possible for the boy to pull such a stunt. What was he? How had he done it? Clearly he wasn't human. Even if he was neither a ghost, an esper or an alien... there was no doubt that he wasn't human. At least as far as Julien was concerned. "W-well then, mr. Alcor," Julien started, watching the white haired boy in fascination as he managed to take out a cup without having the entire already unstable tower of dishes fall over, "I'm Julien D-Duval," as he said his name, his very slight french accent became somewhat more prominent, "feel free to refer t-to me by my first name, though," he said, his lips curving into a slight, polite but somewhat shy smile. "I think I have won this challenge!" "Well done," praised the Alchemist with a slight nod of his head, casting a brief glance at the tea kettle to see if the water was ready yet. It looked like it still needed a while before it would begin to boil. "I-If you wouldn't mind, could you clean that cup? I-I don't think I have any clean one's left," he himself would be using the same cup he'd used earlier. That way he saved himself the trouble of having to do any dishes... at least for the moment. Even so, he only usually ever did the dishes when he needed something – and then rarely bothered to wash anything he didn't need at the moment. This may also be an explanation as to why the air in the kitchen in particular, but also the rest of the house... wasn't great. It was a wonder the alchemist hadn't gotten himself sick yet. The house would definitely need a good cleaning at some point. At the mention of the philosophers stone, the alchemist froze – his sky blue eyes widening. He had indeed heard the story of the philosophers stone... was the boy trying to tell him that...that he was gazing at the infamous creation right at this moment. Too shocked to say anything, Julien tried to digest that information, slowly beginning to understand what the boys words actually meant at a whole. Feeling his legs beginning to give way under him, the alchemist pulled out a chair and sat down, frowning as he rubbed his temples. "S-so you h-have the philosophers stone i-inside your body? N-no... you are the p-philosophers stone?"
Key-Tokki
Alcor looked down at the cup in his hand, shifting over to the others sink he began to wash it out. Though he held the cup under the water for longer than neciccary since he was still distracted by all the dishes and items that were piled high. Glancing over at a nearby stack, he noted that they were all dirty, and shifting up he brought down a few plates and cups from atop the stack, washing them out at well. If this alchemist was going to help he, was was going to make a point to make his home more accessible for him. He listened to the other speak while contently cleaning out the few dishes he had picked up. Crossing his arms, he watched, slightly concerned, as the other man practically collapsed in a chair. The smile dropped rom his mouth for a moment, this human seemed really unusual, he seemed to have many quirks but over all the man had accepting he was inhuman right from the start and still offered him tea. He knew exactly what getting the other involved meant, and how dangerous it would be for the alchemist. If it were up to him, he would leave right now, to save this human the trouble, but he knew that that was not an option. Still, it still, knowing that if they were caught the other, Julien, would die. He had been up for a long time, and his body was begining to get weiry, so he settled himself on the ground in front of the other, putting his arms on the ground begin himself to hold his weight as he stretched his long legs out in front of him. Considering the mans question for a few moments, he finally nodded in responce before continuing. "I am, the scientist created me many years ago, and when the military units came for him, he had no choice but to merg me with his son. I used to be able to hear the boy in my head sometimes, but that stopped a few months ago, I think the body got to weak to hold us both so in essance he died. This body was just to young, and it had no powerful ability, it was and is a bad shell for me." Sitting up slightly, he added, "It is beyond my ability to run anymore, the body just simply can't take it, and if it dies with me in it then they might be able to pick up the residue of power from it. With that, they could build multiple atomic weapons." Looking straight up at the other, his face and tone with dead serious, he continues. "I love humans, I love this planet, please, Julien, help me before I become the downfall of them both." He knew exactly what he was asking, he needed to be basically ripped from the body, and insintigrated, so there would be nothing left of him to use. "The moment I was put in this body, I developed a waking conciseness, and I am greatful for all the things I have gotten to experience, but I am simply out of time i'm afraid." The smile returned to his face as he finished, he continued, his tone taking on a lighter vibe. "If you help me, I can give you one thing, anything you want, just name it and I will find a way to make it yours." With that, he sat back, waiting for humans answer. Gladis
Julien watched Alcor's lips part as he started to speak, readying himself to listen to whatever this strange boy had to say... until a terrifying thought hit him. Good god, why hadn't he considered this earlier? Most likely because he wasn't used to getting any visitors. There was a good reason Julien barely had any technology in his house and what he did indeed own was terribly outdated. He was well aware of that nothing released in this day and age could be trusted. Even the outdated technology was at risk, but Julien still felt like the chances that they'd been bugged were far lesser. Yet it was too late. The boy had already started speaking and all Julien could do was sit there with a pained expression, his hands trembling as he again and again tried to calm down enough to speak. He looked genuinely concerned, yet there was nothing he could do. His throat was dry, his body frozen in place as he was forced to watch Alcor say way too much. If only he'd been better with people, he could have interrupted the boy long ago, taking the precautions he felt were needed in a situation such as this. Quite frankly, Julien felt incredibly exasperated at his own inability to act. "S-stop!" he finally managed to get a hold of himself, quickly placing his trembling hand over Alcor's mouth to prevent him from saying any more. Nevertheless, it was too late. The boy had already said way too much. "Y-you need to be mow what you say!" he hissed, the look in his eyes just slightly crazed as he gazed down at Alcor. Once he was sure the boy wouldn't say any more, he removed his hand and took a deep breath. "You d-don't have a mobile phone on you, do you? O-or any other kind of e-electronic toy? I-if that's the case we need to leave a-at once..." maybe he was being paranoid, but one could never be too careful. Especially not when dealing with a secret like this.
