Zombie_In_A_Box
Alexander felt undescribable anger rising inside of him as he stared at the waitress with fury-filled eyes. "You better be." He nearly growled before hurriedly turning back to Beckett. Seeing the other in such state was incredibly scary... He felt so helpless, so goddamn useless. His hands were trembling as he crouched down next to the other, doing everything he could think of to help the younger continue breathing. Although right then, he wouldn't have refused someone helping him breathe as well. When the ambulance arrived, Alexander began feeling a bit light-headed from the stress of this situation. He barely nodded at what he was told before managing to get outside, taking in deep breaths - well, attempting to. A woman gently calmed him while he tried to get his breathing under control. He was absolutely terrified at the moment... Seeing Beckett like this reminded him of his brother dying. Back then he was also helpless.
BlaqueCatt
After being led out of the restaurant by the EMTs, Beckett took a seat on the back of the ambulance. An oxygen was strapped to his face, one that covered his mouth and nose, and he was told to try and relax. He leaned back against the wall of the vehicle, his brown eyes closing. His body was exhausted, as it had struggled to keep him alive with the allergen present, and he was still trembling slightly. What a time for this to happen... He sighed, wincing slightly when the action irritated his sore throat. He opened his eyes, though, when he heard someone talking nearby. Upon glancing to the side, he saw Alexander talking to a woman. He looks as bad as I do. Despite being told to stay put, Beckett sat up straighter and rasped out, "Mr...Black." Zombie_In_A_Box
Alexander flinched at the sound of someone calling out his name. It seemed like he was easy to freak out in such a situation. After realizing it was Beckett, the raven let out a heavy sigh and turned to the young man, his hands trembling. "You stay quiet and relax." He said firmly and gently pushed the other back to his place, just as the woman placed a hand on his shoulder. The man froze up, his body going stiff until he realized it was fine. After turning to the woman, Alex appeared to be terrified. He wasn't sure what was wrong with him, but it wasn't the first time he lost all control over his body when in a stressful situation like this. BlaqueCatt
The brunette frowned as he realized that something was wrong with his normally level-headed boss. Instead of being calm and collected, he was jumpy and easily startled. Just calling his name made him upset...what's going on? Beckett partially pulled his mask down so his voice was clearer. "Are...you okay?" he asked. His head spun once the words had left his mouth, and he quickly put the mask back into place, sinking back against the wall of the ambulance. He hadn't had a reaction this bad since he was a kid. I'd forgotten how dizzy it makes me. His brown eyes fluttered, but he focused in Alexander, waiting patiently for an answer. Zombie_In_A_Box
Alexander was still trying to get his breathing under control when another question came his way. The man waved his hand as the woman held a hand on his back. "I'm fine, I-I'm alright." He muttered just loud enough for Beckett to hear. It took him a few minutes to stop feeling as if he couldn't do anything, yet he did manage. Of course, the woman calming him down was a big help as well... When he finally felt a bit more like himself, the raven turned to his employee and let out a quiet sigh. "Don't try and talk anymore." He said with a significantly calmer tone, although he wasn't fully relaxed yet.
BlaqueCatt
The young man's eyes were half-closed, but even beneath the sleepy haze his concern was still clear. "Are you...sure?" he questioned, tilting his head to get more comfortable. The action caused his bangs to fall into his eyes, but he decided against brushing it away, as it would likely just fall right back into place. "You look up...set." He only needed to stay on the mask for about an hour, but it was very possible that he would fall asleep before that time was up.
Zombie_In_A_Box
Alexander frowned, gently running a hand over Beckett's hair as he nodded. "I'm perfectly fine, you should just sit back and relax, okay?" The raven sighed as he leaned back, rubbing his forehead. This whole thing was giving him a massive headache... He closed his eyes, breathing evenly although his heart still beated like crazy. He was still extremely worried about the younger, although now it seemed he could finally keep most of it under control.
BlaqueCatt
The brunette's cheeks flushed lightly when Alexander gently touched his hair, and he averted eye contact, glad that the mask disguised most of the red coloring. Why is he so worried about me? he wondered, sneaking a peek at the older man as he also reclined against the vehicle, though standing. I'm grateful, but I'm really all right and I barely know him. "Are you sure you feel okay?" he asked again, assuming that the man was in pain when he rubbed his forehead. "I'm sure they can give you something." He broke off for a moment, wheezing as his throat constricted, before swallowing and wincing. "Oh no...will I be able to drive you home like this?" he realized after a moment. Zombie_In_A_Box
Alex nodded slightly, pushing himself off the wall, ready to go and find himself some medicine when Beckett caught his attention again. The raven raised his eyebrows at what he heard, disbelief in his eyes. "You're joking, aren't you? I'll call us both a cab." He said firmly, making it clear there was no other way he would accept. "As if I'd let you drive like this..." He mumbled in frustration as he looked at his employee, tiredness showing on his face. He desperately needed sleep... BlaqueCatt
Beckett saw the exhaustion on his boss' face and immediately felt guilty. "I'm sorry," he apologized softly, fiddling with the oxygen tube connected to his mask. He stopped after he realized what he was doing and folded his hands in his lap, squeezing them together tightly. "I bet this hasn't happened to you before." There was a small smile on his face, but it contained no humor. I've ruined his evening. So much for trying to be friends with him. "I'll make it up to you," he continued, not realizing that his voice was getting quieter with each word. The swelling in his throat had diminished, but it was still sore and made it very hard to talk. He was also still recovering from the stress his body had been under while struggling to breathe. Zombie_In_A_Box
Alexander frowned in irritation, pursing his lips into a tight frown. "There's absolutely nothing you need to apologize for. What you need to do is relax and calm down." He said with the frown staying on his face. A heavy sigh left his mouth as he shook his head, staring at Beckett with disbelief. "There's nothing you'd need to make up to. Just try and get some sleep, I'll get you home when you wake up." The raven promised as he looked around for the woman he'd been talking to before. After spotting her, the man asked for some painkillers, vaguely motioning to his head which now felt as if it was about to split into two.
BlaqueCatt
Beckett watched Alexander walk away with a despondent expression on his face. He logically knew that none of this was his fault, but he couldn't help but feel guilty that his boss was irritated and in pain because of what had happened. A soft sigh escaped past his lips, and he rested his head on the side of the ambulance again, closing his eyes. Now things will be even more awkward during work...assuming that I still have my job. The stress was beginning to get to him, and he squeezed his eyes shut to hold back tears. After a few moments, he did fall asleep with one of the EMTs checking his vitals again. Zombie_In_A_Box
Once Alexander got his painkillers, he drank them and went back to Beckett, finding him asleep already. He sat down in the vehicle and leaned back against the wall, resting his eyes to ease his headache. It didn't take long for the medication to work; that was something he liked about his body. About an hour later, he was gently awoken by the very same woman that'd taken care of him before. "Excuse me, sir, you need to go now." She said gently as she helped the raven stand up. He let out a long sigh before glancing at Beckett, nodding lightly. "Alright." He barely muttered out that much before gently picking up the younger male, careful not to wake him. He was going to take them both to the cab and then either get Beck to his house if he didn't wake up, or take him to his own.
BlaqueCatt
Beckett, being the lanky man that he was, weighed less than expected when lifted. He wasn't by any means malnourished; he simply had a body type that was on the smaller side. His eyes remained closed when the oxygen mask was removed from his face, and all he did when picked up was twitch and make a quiet, somewhat confused sound before falling back asleep. He was silent and motionless as his boss carried him to the cab, and there was no reaction when he was placed down and strapped in. His head tilted slightly to the side, as he was sitting up, but it was clear that the medication they had given him, when combined with the stress was enough to knock him out, as he was actually a rather light sleeper. Before Alexander entered the cab, the waitress that had served them approached with a strict-looking woman in a suit. The waitress looked guilty and irritated, and the woman appeared incredibly stressed. "I would like to apologize for my daughter's careless actions," she said, and the waitress pouted. Her mother shot her a dark glare before continuing, "I am the owner of the restaurant, and I hired my daughter so she would learn responsibility. Apparently that didn't happen. Rest assured that she will not be working here again--" "Mom--! "Be quiet!" she snapped, sighing before smoothing out her skirt and straightening her glasses. "I will pay for all medical expenses and there is no charge for the meal." Nervously, she tucked a strand of hair that had fallen looe from her bun behind her ear; it was clear that she was trying t avoid being sued. Zombie_In_A_Box
Alexander, when he saw the two women approaching, gently laid Beck on the back seat and asked the driver to wait a little bit. The raven crossed his arms as he listened, refusing to even glance at the waitress who was responsible for all this. "Your daughter was openly flirting with a few customers, including myself. I certainly hope she won't be working here." He spoke coldly before letting out a sigh. "I will not sue, however I don't know how my friend there will decide to act. I can see you're working hard for this restaurant... I know what it's like to be responsible for everything..." The man offered the woman a small smile, letting go off the coldness at last. "Now if you'll excuse me, I should go. Thank you for taking care of this whole situation." At last, he could go home... And it seemed Beckett would be coming with him for now. It didn't take long for them to get to his appartment where he was first greeted by an enormous dog - his beloved Doberman. Usually it lived outside, but he was feeling nice enough to let it stay inside for the night. As he stepped inside, he brought Beckett closer to himself until he got to the bedroom where the younger was gently placed on the bed. Alex himself walked off to the kitchen to first feed his dog and then eat something, as he wasn't really able to eat at the cafe.
BlaqueCatt
The brunette slept through the entire car ride to Alexander's house, and he didn't even flutter his eyelids when the taxi pulled to a stop and he was lifted out of the car. He did flinch when the Doberman started barking--and he would swear when he woke up that his hand had been licked by something--but there was no obvious response from him. Once placed onto the bed, he turned onto his side in a subconscious effort to become more comfortable, his head resting on his arm, which was tucked in close to himself. The effects of the medication would wear off in a couple of hours, though.
Zombie_In_A_Box
Alexander was able to eat in peace, without hearing his employee waking up. Guess the guy would be sleeping for some time after this experience... The raven yawned widely as he stretched, deciding to join the brunet as well. He shouldn't mind aharing the bed, right? He definitely didn't want to sleep on the couch. With a heavy sigh, the raven dragged himself off to the bedroom and plopped down on the bed after changing into more comfortable clothes. In a matter of minutes, he was asleep, shifting closer to Beckett from time to time. It was how he always slept - if someone was with him in the bed, they were bound to end up in his arms. BlaqueCatt
Though Beckett was normally a lighter sleeper, the medication he had taken made no room for consciousness. It left his mind foggy, and even in his work clothes, he found himself incredibly comfortable. Certain sensations did appear in his dreams every so often, though, sensations that related to what was happening around him. The dog licking him, for example, and the sound of the taxi door slamming shut. I wonder if Mr. Black will still be there when I wake up, he wondered, clueless to the fact that the hour had already passed and that he had been taken somewhere else. Probably not. I'm sure he'll go home. I hope I have enough change to get a ride... Eventually, after things around him had calmed down, his thought process slowed again. {Time-skip?}
Zombie_In_A_Box
Alex ended up throwing one arm around Beckett's waist comfortably, the other over his head, as if shielding his eyes from the unexistant light. His grip was almost like steel - nothing and no one could get out of his arms without first waking him up. Especially when he was in such deep state of sleep, as he was right now. At some point during the night, he pressed his forehead snuggly against Beck's neck, finding relaxation and comfort in such a position, especially since his wife usually took his employee's place. It seemed like the woman had already left, however... ((I'm sorry, I really want to see Beck's reaction to waking up in such a situation ))
BlaqueCatt
{No problem} Even though he was deeply asleep, Beckett still felt the comforting weight of Alexander's arm around his waist. It made him feel relaxed, and as a result he slept more soundly than he did when alone. As a child, he had loved to cuddle with his sister when he got the chance, and though as an adult it was embarrassing, he still found the simple touch to be pleasant. Unaware that he was actually being held, assuming that the sensation came from a dream, he rolled onto his other side so he was facing the older man. Their foreheads touched, and the brunette snuggled closer, attracted to the others body heat. As dawn approached, the young man stirred. It was around six o'clock, the fine that he usually woke up for work, and he let out a quiet sigh. His eyes gradually opened, and he blinked a few times to clear his vision. I should get up now... He moved to get up, and frowned when he found himself stuck in place. What...? He focused his gaze on what was in front of him, and he froze, his eyes widening and his breath catching in his throat. It took him a moment, but after he realized what was going on his face flushed profusely. His attempts at breaking free of his boss' iron grip failed, and he stuttered. "M-Mr. B-Black? I was sleeping with his arms around me? It was mortifying, and he wondered why he hadn't been taken to his own house. However, he couldn't forget how safe he had felt last night. Zombie_In_A_Box
Alexander took a while to wake up even when his name - well, surname - was called out. Groggily opening his eyes, the raven blinked sleepily, for a moment just seeing something really bright red. Once again, it took him a little bit to figure out it was a face. With a sigh, the man freed Beckett from his grip as he pulled away and lazily sat up. "Morning." He greeted casually before getting out of the bed. "The shower's just outside the bedroom, first door to your right. The kitchen's on the left, after you go through the hall." The man explained as he walked off, stretching. He planned on explaining how the other got here as they ate the breakfast... He also needed to feed his dog. With those thoughts in mind, the raven walked to the entry room where his dog's bowls were. He poured some food into one of the two bowls, while the other he filled with water. Gods, he needed to change out of these clothes.
BlaqueCatt
Beckett gaped slightly, disbelieving in how casual his boss was acting under the current circumstances. How was he not embarrassed by this? It was so awkward! Although, he considered, he was the one who decided to stay with me in the first place. His blush deepened and he shook his head, standing up and trying in vain to smooth out his ruffled sweater. That doesn't matter. I should be grateful for him taking care of me. Besides, he was probably tired and wasn't even thinking straight. The brunette had the urge to take a shower, but he didn't have a change of clothes. I'll just wait until I get home. He exited the bedroom and walked into the hall, where Alexander was feeding his dogs. "Um...thank you for taking care if me, but I should be going now." He gave him a small smile. Zombie_In_A_Box
Alexander turned back when he heard his employee's voice, frowning a little bit. "Are you sure you're feeling okay? I didn't want to wake you yesterday, I could take you home now." He suggested, while his doberman walked up to Beckett, sniffing him curiously. "Hey, Peggy, don't scare him." The raven chuckled as he walked closer to the younger man, looking at him with concerned eyes. "If you need a day off after yesterday, feel free to take one." He said before turning to walk to the kitchen. He seemed to be the type of a man who expected people to either follow him if they wanted to talk, or stay quiet. "Anyway, do you want to eat before you go?" He asked as he entered the spacious kitchen. Alexander always adored cooking - form when he was a teen, he used to think of various meals from cheap ingredients to make them feel more expencive. BlaqueCatt
The younger man's smile became a bit more genuine and less forced when Alexander asked if he was okay. I still barely know him and he's worried about me. He nodded reassuringly, reaching down and holding out his hand to the dog, letting her sniff him before petting her head gently. "I'm fine, really. I don't want to trouble you anymore tha I already have. I can eat at home." He wanted to spend more time with his boss, but he didn't want to be bothersome. He said nothing about work, though; he had a feeling the other would object to him going, so he would just show up on his own.
Zombie_In_A_Box
Alexander shook his head with a sigh as he walked towards the fridge. "I insist that you eat with me. You haven't troubled me a lot either way... Besides, I enjoy cooking, so I'd be grateful if you tasted something I made." The raven finished with a smile as he glanced over his shoulder. "What do you think?" The man asked as he got out eggs, butter, milk, some cheese and various vegetables such as bell pepper, cucumber and dill.
