The Plot

Genre: SoL, Drama, Romance

WARNING: TWINCEST

Having friends as children can be great. Spending time together, having fun, making memories. Being twins and being each other's best friend is even better. Ryosuke and Takeshi were inseparable as children, never going places alone, always having the other with them wherever they went. Their favorite thing to do was eat cherry flavored popsicles together while sitting on a bench under a tree in their backyard. However, as they grew up, their preferences changed, hobbies and music, shows to watch and foods too. Ryosuke became more punk, wearing dark clothes, listening to punk/rock/goth music, getting piercings and tattoos, and dying their hair different colors, while Takeshi took a more jock turn, getting a spot on the varsity basketball team, getting awards, becoming the most popular guy ins school, getting scholarships to colleges. But one thing never changed. They always enjoyed that time they shared eating those cherry Popsicles. One day, in early spring, the jock gets an invitation to join a national team, which he accepts. The punk gets invited to become lead singer for a band. Before they go their separate ways, they promised each other that whenever they met up somewhere, they'd share that favorite moment every time.

Sitting on a bench, Ryosuke stares at the ground beneath his feet, his hand holding onto a popsicle. And, positioned next to him was his brother. The two had just gotten out of school for holiday, and were taking a break before walking home. "It sure is hot today, huh?" He asks, glancing over at his brother, in fact, was his twin. A smile firms on his lips as he bites into his treat.

"So, you looking forward to summer break?" He knew they'd planned to do something together later in the week, but the first few days were uncharted waters. Ryosuke was planning to just laze around at home. The two lived in an apartment together, having moved from home with their parents so they could go to the highschool they wanted to this time. Last year they weren't given that option.

The days recently had gotten hot, and even the night was hot now. And in weather like this, all Ryosuke wanted to do was be lazy, or play his guitar. Now that it was summer vacation, he'd be able to do just that. And spend time with his brother, which he enjoyed doing. Later that week they were to go to the beach, staying at an inn a few nights. They'd be taking the train there, since neither owned a car just yet.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Takeshi sat on the bench beside his brother, Ryosuke. He had his head tilted towards the sky, admiring the dazzling radiance of the sun. His popsicle rested in his hand, the cool juice dripping down the stick as it melted under the hot summer heat. He placed the popsicle into his clean hand, smearing the sticky red liquid onto his jeans with the other.

Letting out a low yawn, Takeshi nodded in reply, "Mm, It is summer after all”. He leant over his brother and repositioned his hand, “careful, that popsicles going to be heading down south if you don’t hold it upright”. Takeshi smirked as he pulled himself back. This had been there tradition ever since they were kids; the first day they got out for break they would get cherry popsicles.

Reaching up he ran his free hand through his hair as he considered his brothers question. "I guess so, spending another summer harassing you seems pretty fun" He joked, letting out a low laugh as he reached up and hooked an arm around Ryosuke’s neck, pulling him closer in a playful tug. Taking another bite out of his treat, he kept his arm around the other before asking. "So, what exactly do you have planned for us over the next few weeks?"

Ryosuke just raises an eyebrow when Takeshi fixes the way he was holding his popsicle, snickering softly to himself. Typical Takeshi. That was Ryosuke's nickname for his brother, well, one of many nicknames. "Yeah, well, you got it all over your pants, dork face." He sticks out his tongue playfully, revealing the piercing that he wore. Today it was a green ball, that glowed in the dark, with a black star on it.

"Hopefully you don't harass me too much this year." He laughs as he was grabbed by Takeshi, pulled against the other in a playful manner. "Aw, man, gross dude, let go! You smell terrible!" Plus Ryosuke was eying the melting popsicle in Takeshi's hand, afraid it was going to drip in his hair, which for the moment, was a light brown, with a red streak in his long bangs. He presses his hands on Tekeshi's side, to try and escape the other's grip, but knew his brother was stronger.

So, for now, he gives up and answers the question. "On Friday we're going to the beach, and we'll be staying in an inn for the weekend, then come back on Monday. Then, Wednesday we're going on a hike. Another Friday through Monday we'll be camping out in Okinawa mountains, near Kyoto, where we'll attend the summer festival." He pauses, staring down as his popsicle fell from the stick. "Damn...anyways, you should learn to make plans yourself sometime, for some reason I'm always the one making the schedule."

He wasn't complaining though. It gave him the chance to hang out with his brother, for himself. Since at school he was always with a crowd of people that weren't really Ryosuke's type. In fact, it was a surprise for most when they first find out Ryosuke and Takeshi were twins. Ryosuke was a rebel: piercings, tattoos, dyed hair, clothing, music, the whole thing. While Takeshi was the school sports star. Totally popular, great at athletics, buff. And yet, despite the huge difference, they matched perfectly together.

Takeshi loved watching his brother’s futile attempts to escape his grasp. He always took great pride in being the stronger one out of the two. Takeshi kept a tight grip on Ryosuke until he finally gave in to his superior strength and spoke about the events he had scheduled for the twins.

Truth be told, Takeshi wasn’t all that interested in what they were going to do over the summer period, all he really cared about was spending time with Ryo. To keep his brother happy he listened intently – hanging onto every word. ‘Isn’t it obvious that I don’t care about what we are doing?’ he thought to himself. It was clearly the reason he never helped out with the planning.

Takeshi looked down at his brothers popsicle, which had now splattered on the ground, “don’t say I didn’t warn you” he said in a smug tone, looking back up to Ryosuke and winking. He sat for a moment in quiet thought, subdued by the suns heat, “So the beach is up first then, huh?” Takeshi loved the beach, it gave him an excuse to strip down and show off his impressive physique and be admired by the other beach dwellers.

“Why don’t we go and buy another popsicle” Takeshi said with a grin on his face, “after all, the tradition is to eat the popsicles, not paint the floor with them”.

Ryosuke grumbles, hearing the smug comment that Takeshi had made to him. "Yeah, well...it's your fault too, Takeshi. You're the one who has me in a head lock..." At this statement, Ryosuke jabs his brother in the side. Being the younger of the twins, he'd always been the smaller one, unfortunately, in all areas. But he really didn't let it bother him. Size only got you so far.

"Yeah, the beach is first." Even though he usually didn't like that sort of thing, he looked forward to being able to cool off in the water. His own body was thin, but still fit, being slender and wiry, rather than muscular like Takeshi. Also, unlike Takeshi, he had several tattoos and piercings, one in a rather unmentionable place.

Rolling his eyes, he hears the suggestion Takeshi makes. "Sounds nice. I'd agree to that, but uh...you kinda still have me in a hold! Could you let go please? Cause you do really smell bad. Like sweat. What the heck did you do today?" Once he was released, he straightens upright, fixing his hair, and checking for any sticky spots. Finding none, he stands up, picking up his bag and skateboard, as well as slinging his guitar onto his back.

Waiting for the other to stand, he then sets the board on the ground, steps onto it, and pushes off, rolling away, swerving back and forth. As they head to the convenience store he pulls off many tricks, grinding on benches and polls, flipping his board, doing jumps. All the while keeping close to his brother, music blaring from his headphones, one of the clip on ear pieces dangling down. The only tournament he'd ever been in was a skateboarding one for all of Japan, and he'd gotten first. "So, you paying for it this time?" He calls, making a circular pattern around his brother, hands in his pockets. "Since I bought the last ones. AND I'm paying for the trip. The least you could do is pay 240 yen for a popsicle."

(Side Note: 240 Yen roughly equals $2)
