Kirito let out a laugh as water rained down around him from the splash the other had made. Cameron had insisted that he could reached the top of the tree and get the fruit without falling into the water directly below it, but clearly he had failed that mission rather terribly. Kirito pushed himself up from the sand bank he was sitting on and carefully wadded into the water, reaching down his hand to help his fallen comrade up. However, Cameron took a hold of his hand, and instead of pulling himself up, he pulled the other down, there was another splash. Kirito now found himself looking up at Cameron, wide eyed, there was a different look on his friends face, something he hadn't seen before. "Camer-?" He started, but before he could finish he felt lips press against his own. Both of his hands went ip to push at the others shoulders gently but found he had little fight in him, why? Because somehow, the others lips on his own felt amazing on his own. Letting his eyes close, he pressed back into the kiss softly. He felt the other shit slightly, and opened his eyes, and the first thing he saw were cat ears. The man he was kissing was no longer Cameron, it was Shinya?!

Kirito jolted lightly, eyes shooting open as he stared straight up at the cieling, trying to catch his breath. However, he immediately noticed something was different, there was a weight on him? Glancing down slightly, he came face to face with the sleeping Kanier. He was more than confused, he remembered tumbling into the room earlier, then falling into the bed, then what happened? All he knew was that he now had a sleeping Kanier on him. Glancing to the side, he saw that it was already dark out, crap, they were probably late for dinner. Sighing softly, he carefully plucked the other off of him and slide out of bed, making his way to his closet and pulling on some fresh clothes as he softly spoke up in an attempt to rouse the other. "Hey, it's dinner time. Can you wake up? Shin?"

Shinya's ears instantly moved as his body was pushed off of his own. He sighed softly and rolled onto his back, "M-mm.." he said softly and blinked his eyes open. "Is it really?" he rolled out of the bed and stretched his body out. "I didnt plan to sleep that long." He chuckled softly a hand running through his hair as his ears flicked slightly trying to push down the hair that was standing up. "Did you have a good dream? You seem happy.." he smiled softly and smoothed out his clothing looking in the mirror to make sure he looked alright.

He walked to Kirito and smiled, "Does your dad plan to make us eat with him?" he asked sighing softly, "I don't think I can take another silent dinner just the two of us in our own little world." he said softly leaning against the wall not facing the other male allowing him privacy as he started to change. His fingers ran down his body to his tail as he pulled it in front of him slowly running his hands through the fur. His thoughts couldnt stop running from Kirito, he kept thinking about before he had fallen asleep how Kirito pulled him into a hug and just fell asleep with him in his arms. He found it...cute and yet he was confused. He didnt know how he was supposed to take the act, as a form of affection? No..he was half asleep there is no way he meant what he did, if he did he wouldn't have waited till falling asleep to pull him against the other.

Kirito couldn't keep his cheeks from flushing slightly when he noticed the other rolling out of his bed, they really had fallen asleep in the same bed? He hadn't done that with anyone other than Nia or Cameron, and to do it with someone he just met, was he already that comfortable with the guard? The Kanier guard at that. Bringing his gaze back to the closet, he nodded, Was that a good dream? I ended up kissing Shinya, does that make it a dream or a nightmare? He wondered quietly to himself, reaching down to smooth out his white dress shirt and black leggings he had on. Kneeling down he pulled on a pair of soft black shoes that resembled slippers before nodding his responce.

"We are a royal family, we eat dinner and breakfast together every day. We don't usually do lunch at least since everyone is usually busy with something, so at least we get some time off there." He spoke as if being a prince was his dau job, and in a way it was. His gaze was pulled however, when he noticed the the other playing with his tail. For a moment, kirito almost wanted to reach over and run his fingers over the fur himself, it looked soft, warm, almost inviting even. "Alright, well we ought to hurry up, being late twice in one day can't end well." He murmured, needing desperately to get some movement in his limbs, and a distraction from Shinya. Kirito was not an idiot, he knew when he was developing a crush, and he knew how bad it would end up, this needed to be nipped in the bud right now. Without even waiting for a responce he pushed the door open and headed back towards the dinning hall. He couldn't worry about it right now, no, actually there was nothing to worry about, nothing was going to happen.

Shinya nodded lightly and sighed, "Well thats good..that you slept well. Sorry for having fallen asleep with you, I stayed up all night the night before and you were holding onto me and I didnt have the heart to move you." he chuckled softly before he pushed himself off the wall following the Prince. "I understand you are a royal family, I guess its just weird to me. The Princess and her family never ate with one another. She would always eat with me or her other pet she had and would make us keep her company all night long. Frankly...I never saw her with her father the entire time I was under the royal service." he said thinking aloud as he had finally caught up to Kirito.

The slight cold shoulder kind of hurt his feelings however he didnt let it show greatly, however his ears betrayed him every time and they stayed flat against his head in pain or rather hurt. He pushed open the door to the dinning hall for Kirito before following him to the same seats they had sat in before. Shinya sat silently his body tense as he stepped into the role he was to play. He kept his head high and didnt look away from the others circled around the table. He really wished he could just look at Kirito till his cheeks turned pink when he noticed but he knew that couldn't happen, let alone the fact Kirito didnt feel that way about him nor would he ever. He sighed softly and relaxed some his stomach growling lightly but only audible for him and Kirito to hear. To think about it he hadn't eaten all day, he wasn't eating because Kirito wasn't, he had completely forgotten about being hungry until the smell of food came to his nose.

Kirito gave his guard a slightly nod before stepping into the hall after him, dinner was even more of an event than breakfast was. Now there were three jestures around the room, all focusing on making there good king laugh, and to the princes great pleasure, he was laughing heartily. Despite his fathers sour mood earlier, hunting always cheered him up, so he seemed to be in much higher spirits. He could tell the Kanier was a bit upset about something, the others ears were still downcast slightly, even after they entered the dinning hall. It really was like having a kitten. Looking from Shinya, to the food on the table, he remembered the others vow to not eat until his prince did. Shit, that was right, if he didn't eat then neither would his guard. While he was still feeling pretty alright, he knew the guard was probably starving.

With a slightly sigh of defeat, he gave in. Reaching forward, he poured a large bowl of his favorite soup that was sitting just to the right of where he was sitting. Leaning back in his chair, he glanced over at his guard, and gave him a reassuring smile before bringing a bit of his soup to his mouth to show that he was finally going to eat. If Shinya had not been here, than Kirito would not have agreed to eat anything at all, so clearly the man was doing his job well in protecting the prince. Everything looked like it might start looking up, the king seemed happy, the room seemed marry, and he was sitting next to someone he liked, enjoying his food. However, after only a few minutes, he began to feel a bit..odd. His head felt cloudy, and his throat was begining to hurt. He'd managed to down half of his soup, but there was no way he was getting any more down. Reaching over, he took ahold of Shinyas hand tightly, letting out a low cough. "I need to go back to my room." There was an urgence to his voice as he spoke, looking directly up at the Kanier.

Shinya smiled softly his own thoughts going to food as he began preparing himself a plate of anything that looked good. But before he could eat anything he felt a hard squeeze on his hand and the faint whisper of Kirito as he stood and pulled the Prince up from his chair and helped him out of the dinning hall. Luckily the King was too busy with other matters to notice the sneaking away of his son once again. Once out of the hall Shinya swung Kirito up into his arms and he practically ran back to the room before pushing the door open with his back grunting lightly in the pain of it all.

He rushed to the others bed and laid him down, "Whats wrong?" he said softly his heart hurting slightly but unable to figure out why. He leaned over and felt Kirito's head, "...I didnt even try your soup before you ate it...I should have tried it just in case maybe thats it.." he said softly and he looked down dejected but his mind was on other things as he paced slightly. "What do I need to do Kirito." he said softly his own hand squeezing the others softly. He was worried about the younger male,, he was really worried about him. He didnt know what was going on but no matter what it was he knew he could get the Prince back to a healthy state.

Kirito was using the other as a support, though it was working well he couldn't help but be relieved when he felt the ground drop from his feet and once again felt the familiar warmth of his guards chest against him. Immediately his eyes closes, letting himself relax into the others hold contently. One of his hands clenched the others shirt, and the other lay across his waist as he was carried towards the room. "You don't have to go so fast." He murmured softly, and he meant it. By the direction the guard was going, he knew he was heading back to the princes room and he knew he was going to be put to bed and for now he just wanted to relax against Shinya, it was calming. He could feel the others grunt vibrate lightly through the mans chest and shifted slightly, looking up to make sure his Kanier was alright.

All to soon, he felt the bed under him, despite wanting to stay in Shinya's arms he revved in the warmth the bed brought him. He was more than confused as to why he wanted to just lay in the others arms so much, but chose to ignore facing that until a later date. Kirito's eyes felt heavy, but he had been sleeping so much recently, it as to the point where he felt like he was sleeping his life away. He wasn't sleeping beauty and it wasn't fair for him to leave the other alone so often. So after he managed to get a hold of himself, his eyes slowly opened and he brought his gaze immediately to Shinya. The pain in his stomach was already receeding, if there was something in the soup he clearly hadn't had enough for it to be any serious problem. For now, his only concern was that the other hadn't even gotten a chance to touch his food. His hand tightened around the others and he shifted slightly so he could look at him properly while speaking. "I'm alright, don't worry i'll be fine. Can you get a servant and have them bring some food? You promised to eat if I did, right?" His voice was lightly, but laced with worry for the Kanier.

Shinya didnt take the time to listen to the younger male, his only concern was walking to the others room and laying him down so he would be able to rest. He sighed softly as he felt the other male seemed to not want to leave his arms, when he sat him down in the bed he stayed close to the other allowing for him to pull him closer if he wished it, "Yes, I did promise that but I'm not so hungry as to need to eat when you are suffering." he said softly his ears flat against his head.

"Plus, I seemed to have lost my appetite anyway, I'm more worried about you than anything else." he said softly and he leaned into Kirito's hand so it was on his ear and he sighed softly, "You seem to want to give me a heart attack the first week I'm here Kirito." he chuckled softly and it was a worried laugh however it was a sweet and kind one as well. The muscles in his shoulders went lax as he looked down, "I'm sorry I made you eat something, Seems that ay have been the problem." he said sighing softly. He seemed to believe that the entire ordeal was all his fault.

  • 4 months later...

Kirito stretched out slightly under the covers, smiling slightly to himself when he noted how soft the fur on the others ear was in his hand. "I don't think it was anything bad, there was probably just ome uncooked food, I saw two others looking a bit green before we left as well. Are you sure you are feeling okay? Didn't eat anything uncooked? Ah, wait, of course not you didn't get to eat anything at all." He murmured, once again guilt washing through him as he closed his eyes and sighed at the situation, despite the fact tht the other was acting like it didn't even matter, he certainly cared. "Well, one thing is for certain, you deserve a raise." He teased lightly, laughing a bit.

"You were trying to take care of me, you have nothing to apologize for. You know, before you came I didn't want a new guard. I think it's wrong for anyone to prioritise myself before anyone else, you are clearly a good fighter. You could be somewhere else, doing a million different things of more importance than here. Still, I have to admit, i'm glad you became my guard." He spoke, and just as he finished there was a knock on the door. Frowning lightly, he glanced over at the door, sitting up slightly just as a bright, blonde haired boy burst through the door. His eyes were a bright blew and he seemed to be the same race as Kirito, in fact there facial structures seemed a bit similar as well. "Cousin!!" He called out, the smile on his face widening then dissapearing as he spoke in a mock tone, "I heard you were ill! I was so worried!" Kirito's face remained annoyed as he watched the other. "Arron, i'm not feeling well, can you leave?" As he spoke, Arrons gaze turned from Kirito to the Kanier and his eyes widened slightly. "Wow, you actually did it. A Kanier as a slave? They really let that hapen?" He murmured, a bit shocked.

"He is not a slave, he is my guard. Now as I was saying, can youkindly le-," He was cut off when Arron was across the room and in the next instant, standing beside shinya, leaning in close to the others face as he took him in. "Wow, there kind really are as pretty as they say huh? Are you all this good looking, or is it just you?" He asked Shinya, ignoring all protest that Kirito was spouting.

Shinya smiled gently and he leaned into the hand still touching him, "No I did not get to eat anything, but I'm fine I ate alot of food during lunch so I'm alright." he said gently and smiled pulling away slightly so they were arms length apart. "I hope it was nothing too bad and it was just some uncooked food...I may be killed if you are hurt too badly." He laughed softly hearing the raise comment and he blushed lightly, "That would be nice but I'm ot getting paid at all for this job..let alone do I need money." he said gently looking over Kirito's face.

Shinya sighed softly and shook his head, "I'm here because its waht I like to do...I like serving as a guard Kirito. You are correct I could be anywhere I could even be the leader of the guard but you know I enjoy this job." he said gently and looked up hearing the knock and he pulled away from the boy just so he was sitting on the bed next to him. He watched the confrontation between Kirito and and the so called cousin and he didn't do anything as he was fighting with the boy.

When Kirito started to ask the blonde haired boy to leave Shinya moved to stand and escort him out but he was greeted with a face to his own and he blinked at the small boy before him. He smirked at the comment and he tilted his head, "Beautiful? You flatter me. Its natural for us to be beautiful..however since we are so unwanted no one really cares about the looks anymore." He shrugged and leaned away from the boy slightly. "I would prefer it if you didn't refer to me as a slave.." he said under his breath looking at Kirito for some form of help or rescue knowing if he touched the boy he would be in trouble with the king.

Kirito knew it was going to be trouble the moment the last words left the others mouth. "You would prefer? Maybe you don't know your position here, please, let me inform you." The blonde boy began to speak, his tone dark, Kirito was already getting out of the bed, sliding in front of his Kanier, he held his hands up in a defensive manor. "Arron, please, he didn't mea-.."Before he could finish his protest, he was shoved out of the way so that Arron could face the Kanier directly before he continued. "You are here because you are a slave. A replacement. A chess pawn. A peace offering. You, are, nothing. If you die, no one is going to care. Your people will just send a new replacement. How dare you talk to me as if we are on the same level, you disrespectful little-." He was cut short, by a sudden punch flying into his face, causing him to real back and fall backwards to land on his butt. Arron held his cheek in pain and stared wide eyed at the prince who looked anything from happy. "You will apologize. You will never disrespect my guards again, or Shinya." The arrogant boy scouffed, "I will never apologize to that thing."

The air around Kirito seemed to almost shift, his face remaine calm and impassive but the floor under his feet began to turn to ice that slowly began to spread and crack around him. His hair seemed to raise just slightly, as if he were in zero gravity, and his jacket began to blow to wind that was not even there. "Alright!, Alright alright! I'm sorry, Shinya i'm sorry!" He called out finally.

Shinya shifted and he tilted his head listening to what the boy had to say. He shook his head watching as Kirito was pushed out of the way and his eyes moved to the joy before him. He listened and he was right, he was expendable and flexible no one really cared about him. And that's what kept him in line, the fact the small body was right, he didn't move to stop him and he didn't move to say anything g to him he believed in what he said.

To his surpirse Kirito pushed himself before him and forced an apology out of the small boy. Shinya looked at Kirito and he sighed softly, "it's fine. Don't worry about your words.." He said softly and looked away from them both his ears back on his head and his tail flicked in aggravation. He had been right, he was just a pawn, a play thing of royalty and if he died no one would care another being would take his place and life would go on without him.

Kirito glanced over at Shinya and somehow the others words just made him angrier. "Shinya, you are my guard, and my friend. You are not a pawn, I mean it. To me you are someone that I would not be the same without, you can't doubt that. " He turned towards the Kanier, and went to speak but his cousin cut him off again, "If he doesn't want to accept my apology then whatever." Kirito rolled his eyes at the other, giving him a pointed look. Reaching up, he put his hand on his Kanier's shoulder and spoke, "Shinya, listen to me," But before he could finished, a loud ringing began, something that sounded like an alarm was rining, extremely loud through the entire castle.

Kirito glanced around confused and just as four large soldiers rushed into the room, the largest one yelled. "Sire! We are here to evacuate you to the shelter." Kirito's eyes widened, "What? What the hell, what's going on?" He called out in shock, his cousin was still on the floor from where he had fallen back when the alarm went off. "We are under seige."

Shinya looked at the small boy on the floor and he shook his head as he listened to Kirito, he sounded like he meant what he said but they had only known each other for a few days. "I don't accept it because you don't mean it." he said sickly and looked at Kirito as he moved closer to him. "Your highness..you do not know me more than what I have told you. I am your guard yes and I'll protect you with my life but you do not need me as a person here." he said sadly and he looked up his ears picking up on the panicked sounds outside before the alarm went off.

He moved instantly when the guards came in, he pulled the boy off the floor and moved grabbing Kirito's hand and he looked about them. "Get the boy to the shelter, I can take care of the prince on my own. I'm highly trained for this kind of situation you look after him and I'll take care of the prince." he said sternly his leadership showing up slightly. He moved going to the door opening it and he flinched hearing a loud bang. "Kirito, stay close to me..don't let go no matter what." he said lowly to the prince so the other men wouldn't hear as they pushed Ayme and the prince out of the room in the direction of the shelter.

To say that Kirito was shocked was certainly an under statement. The last time something like this happened, it was the Kaniers, and his best friend died. He didn't want that to happen again, not to Shinya who had nothing to do with this. His grip on the others hand tightened slightly, and if the Kanier didn't tug him suddenly, he likely would not have moved from his spot. He was a prince, he was kind, and regal. No one was ever disrespected or mistreated when he was around, but now, having to deal with this again, all of that vanished and he appeared to be nothing but a scared boy. His grip on the others hand tightened even more, and he had to keep his eyes trained on Shinya and completely avoid everything else around him.

"Nia." He murmured out, mostly to himself. Then, speaking a bit louder, he tugged at the other and repeated. "Nia! Last time she was in the castle when it happened, we have to get her first!" He was becoming frantic, looking around quickly, the air around him was beggining to feel heavily, almost like it was full of static. The hue of his eyes was begining to brighten slightly and the roar of thunder could be heard in the distance. A storm was coming, and the young prince who was naive to the ways of actual battle was loosing it. His magic was unstable and everyone knew it, which was mainly why the king did not put him in extremely stressful, or unpredictable situations, but now no one was around and he was completely loosing it.

Shinya moved easily pulling the prince away from the other guards looking around noticing guards running out to the main gates to greet the threat which bombarded their castle. He could feel the tightness around his fingers however he bit his lip and took it knowing that Kirito was scared and he needed the reassurance that he was safe. He squeezed back and he patiently walked with the prince moving against the walls almost like he was apart of them to stay out of the site from any known threats which could be passing by him as he evacuated the Prince. He felt the harsh tug on his arm as the Prince stopped speaking softly and Shinya shook his head going to him, "Kirito?" he asked softly and he was interrupted by the name of a girl and he instantly understood. Kirito wasn't worried about himself he was worried about the little girl who was a friend to him, he moved easily noticing the wild look in the Princes eyes and the clutched hands and white knuckles.

Moving easily he moved his hands on either side of Kirito's face and he leaned into him pressing a soft yet firm kiss to the small boys lips. He pulled back knowing it would make the boy think of something different than what was happening, "I will save her, don't worry I'll get her. After I get you to safety I'll go back for her and bring her to you safe and sound. I swear it. Please...control yourself...everything is fine, I will save her." he said softly his face determined and his lips at the first of the sentence brushing against the boys lips. He looked over his face, "Let me get you safe and I will bring her back to you..you need to calm down Kirito you can not lose control here, not now, you will hurt not only our enemies but our friends as well." He said softly and calmly looking over his face.

Kirito felt like the world was both slowing down and speeding up around him, he could feel the trickle of energy he was releasing slowly begin to grow and grow but really had no way of reigning himself in. He was going to loose it and he could feel it, but maybe things would be fine this time around? His eyes widened slightly however, as he was completely caught off guard by the Kaniers unexpected action. The static from the air around them began to slowly subside, it took a few moments, but finally, everything internally on the prince seemed to die down as he regain control of himself thanks to his Kaniers sudden motion. The young Ionion was to surprised to even be embarrassed. His gaze bore right into the Kaniers as he triedto completely grasp the situation presented before him.

Closing his eyes for a moment he let out low breath as if attempting to release the tention from his body, only opening them again when he wascertain he was in control of himself completely again. "Alright, ill trust you, Shinya." He spoke softly, glancing around them to see that the hall around them was completely bear. There was another loud bang, and and a long vibration began around them. Kirito steadied himself again the wall before carefully making his way to a windowed opening. Leaning outide slightly he looked towards the source of the noise to see a large cannon ball cariening right towards them. Finally, it was like the prince woke up. His eyes seemed to shift to a golden color, and the air around him once again became lit up with golden static that seemed to move all around him, his hair seeing to rise just slightly as though it held no gravity. The only difference was that now he had a cool head. Turning on the ball of his foot, he shot forward, a trail of golden parks left in his wake, and grabbed his Kaniers hand. Without giving the other any kind of warning, he jumped up to the window adjacent to the fire ball, and jumped out of it, pulling Shinya with him. A large impact was heard seconds later as the two fell towards the ground. Bits of the building began to crumple down, a large pulse of energy went off in a circular pulse just before they fell to the ground, slowly there decent drasticaly enough for them to land on there feet. The sound of lightening and he turned to see his father standing on the tallest building in the entire castle grounds, with his hands in the hair. The same golden electricity that Kirito seemed to yield shot from his fathers hand and instantly the entire area was lit up by hat resebled a golden electric wall. Each cannon ball that attepted to gt passed it friend and crubled to peices as soon as it hit the wall. This was the power of Ionions and why they were so feared. However only the royals possed abilities so strong, and it was why it was said that all royals fate were to be driven mad by there own power. "Come on Shinya, we haveto find her." He spoke, motioning towards the far end of the castle.

Shinya really didn't understand what was going on, he watched as Kirito slowly gained control of himself as he searched his face and he smiled lightly his ears falling back as he nodding at the trusting comment. The next thing he knew he was being thrown out the window his hand tightly grasped by that of Kirito as a gold light illuminated from the boy. He cried out mostly in surprise as they descended to the ground but was glad to feel the stone below his feet. He looked about him and he noticed many armed figures headed to them and he moved fast. He pulled Kirito to him and he started to run, "Dont you ever do that without telling me again. We are a team..you can't just go around doing reckless things like that." he said sternly his ears back as he listened around the castle. "The north side of the castle has been breached and men are filing in now, you seem to be wanting to come with me to get her...so i will let you tag along as long as you promise to let me do the fighting...I can't risk your life." he said to the body closest to him. Just as he said that four men rounded the corner they were running to with weapons, and Shinya instantly noticed they were not of this castle. One tethered an arrow and sent it flying, Shinya moved easily and he pulled Kirito away from his body enough that when it hit him it wouldn't attack the boy.

He felt the excrutiating pain through his lower abdomen, he cried out as the arrow took him down to one knee, his ears moved easily however and he pushed Kirito away from him as the men walked to him and he smiled softly as blood formed on his lips. "You'll have to try harder.." he said and moved easily and took the man's sword closest to him and pushed him away from his body letting out a cry as he did so. The blade in his hand sank into the tallest mans stomach as he ran at him, he fell to the floor clutching his stomach.

Shinya moved on sure footing, the archer was last, the man he stole the sword from ran and the archer stood feet away from him tethering another arrow to let loose on him. He spit the blood out of his mouth and he moved breaking the arrow which protruded from his stomach letting out a cough. His tail moved and his ears were back in anger as he watched the man let loose another arrow and he simply started to walk toward the flying arrow. Dodging it he laughed and took off in a full sprint to the man standing before him however he passed him in a whisp of color and fur. He then stood up straight behind the man and moved his sword wiping the tip off, the man before him fell to his knees as his head slid from the base of his neck hitting the ground with a thump.

He looked at his work before he started to walk to Kirito, he made sure they were out of danger for the most part and he groaned softly as he pulled the boy to his feet. "Come on...we need to keep moving...they are in the castle." he said taking his hand with his own blood soaked one and he started walking to where the men came from. He picked up the bow and arrows that the archer had and slid it onto his back along with the sword he held in his hands.

As Kirito was scolded by the other, he nodded, not wanting to take the other off guard to often, but knowing that there was just certain situations where stopping to talk was not going to help, and he needed to take action. Leaning back on his heals he frowned slightly, the idea of letting the Kanier do the fighting was not something he was to fond of. Cameron's face flashed through his mind and he had to shake his head lightly to clear it. No, Cameron was not Shinya, they were both good in combat in different ways and he was going ot trust the other. Everything was going to be fine, he had to believe that.

The air around him began to spark again as though it was charging up when he saw the oncoming enemies. However he was running out of energy extremely quickly and the sparks were just becoming weaker and weaker, and he knew in an instant that the arrow that was fired was going to peirce him. He closed his eyes for impact but found himself instead falling to the side as his guard pushing him to saftey. His eyes widened as he opened to see blood coming from Shinya's mouth. "Shinya!" He called out as soon as he saw the wound, his kind had healing magic, but had didn't have near enough energy left to help a wound like the Kanier had just gotten. He watched the other fight, and the now decapitated head hit the ground. The prince winced slightly for the others sake sa he was helped back ot his feet. Reaching over, he took a hold of the others arm and held it tightly in his hand.

"No, Shinya. You aren't going to run ahea of me like i'm a helpless damsel. Now you are evne injured. We are both going to find her and we are both going to get out of here." He left no room for argument, kneeling in front of the other, he took off his jacket and ripped off a long sleeve, tying it carefuly around the others waste to try and at least slow the bleeding that his guard was now experiencing. A cannon peirced the wall that his father was trying to keep up,and Kirito pushed himself up just in time to hold out a hand and block it with the golden energy, it sizzled to peices before crumbling to the ground. He began panting slightly before turning back towards the castle and begining there search for the small child. "Nia!" He called out, as the castle continued to desintergrate around them under impactful blows. It didn't take to long however, before a shifting could be heard ina room to there right, but before the small girl came bursting out of a nearby room sobbing, wide eyed. She through her arms around the princes legs and burried her face again him, her shoulders shaking visibly. Kneeling down, he wrapped his arms around her and began to shush her. "Nia listen, you need to caml down, we have to go. My dads barrier is failing, we can't stay here." He spoke lightly, but she simply shook her head. "No, this is home! This is where mom and dad were born! I want to stay!" She yelled out, sobbing harder before she pushed herself away from him and switched to Shinya, hugging him tightly instead and wanting him toside with her. "Nia-" He started again, but a huge vibration knocked the three off there feet as the large blouders began to rain down upon the city freely. Meaning the barrier was now completely gone, and his father had fallen. Letting out a cure, he held his hands up and braced as he set up a new barrier, however with his depleted energy and the sheer size of the barrier he was trying to create it was clearly not going to work solidly. The first three impacts it took it held strong, but with the fourth then the fith it began to splinter, and finally, the sixth hit it took, it shattered. Causing the prince to cry out and slacken as he fell face first to the ground. Nia's eyes widened as she turned to her prince and ran over to him, pushing at him in an attempt to wake him up. With him out cold nothing was going to be able to protect them from the boulders raining down.

Shinya laughed softly at the small boys comment, however the Prince was a damsel to him, his life depended on the boys safety. Had he been hit with the arrow that now pierced his own side then he would have the blow reflected on him by the King when everything was still again. He laughed gently and watched Kirito as he nervously fixed the makeshift bandage around his wound. He winced roughly sucking in air through his lips as he closed an eye, his ears falling flat, "Eh.." he stood on his own just using the boy for slight support to stand then he was fine with himself. He turned to the castle walls which were falling and tearing apart every time it was hit with an impact. He watched as the King visibly got weaker.

He turned to Kirito and he moved easily, "Stop using so much Kirito...you're weakening." he said softly but noticed the words fell on deaf ears. He sighed and followed him easily the pain barely phasing him but he felt it. He called out for the girl with his Prince and waited patiently, he picked up on the sound of scuffling feet and furniture before the small head poked out of the room closest to them. He watched the interaction between the two and he sighed gently, knowing she needed the proper words first before she would listen. He winced jumping lightly as he felt the arms go around his legs and he laughed gently, "I'm sorry Nia But I side with the Prince, we must flee now..There is no room to discuss what we should do. Or what matters to us...you will die if you stay here.." he said gently caressing her head gently. He felt the impending danger however he didnt register that Kirito was the one that stopped it for he was disoriented from the ground making him fall. As the gold light left his fingers he watched his Prince weaken just as his Father had and he moved to him instantly moving Nia off f him gently. "We must move now..." he sighed and winced as he bent picking up the small boy in his arms and he carried him.

He walked to the far castle wall which backed into the woods which were in between the city and the castle. He watched as men with weapons invaded the castle, he had one option, staying here would get them all killed or the prince captured, fleeing from the city into the immense woods that bordered the castle was his best option. He looked at Nia and he motioned for her to follow, "Come, I'll keep you safe but you must stay with me...hold onto my tail if you have to but do not fall behind." he said gently to her shifting the small boy in his arms wincing as he did so. The blood flow was moving faster now and his shirt was soaked as blood ran down his side and leg.

He made his way to the woods his feet moving surely, he looked back to make sure the girl was following soundly and that no enemies were following them to his hiding spot. The trees swallowed them and shrouded them in darkness, he didnt stop however and he kept walking. His legs moved fast however slow enough she could follow, if she lagged behind he would pick her up too and carry her on his back if he needed. He was getting Kirito to safety even if it was his own safety. Finally as the sounds of the burning city were behind him and the sounds of the forest surrounded him instead he sat Kirito down with a loud grunt from himself. He looked at the girl and he sighed softly panting and sweating from the trip, "I'm sorry...that we had to leave your hometown...you will see it again I promise you." he said softly and caressed her cheek with the hand that wasn't covered in his own blood.

Nia's eyes widened slightly as she attempted to hold onto Kirito when the Kanier pulled her away, if it were any time other than now she would certainly have thrown a tantrum. This wasn't the first time she had been around the prince when he was uncontious, and last time it happened she refused to let go of his shirt sleeve until he showed signs of stirring. However right now he showed no signs of even being alive other than the steady rise and fall of his chest. Her hands out stretched for her friend again but she didn't get a chance to take a hold of him again before Shinya had reached down and plucked him up from the ground. She screamed as another blast nearby shook the ground under then again, and now there only form of protection was gone.

The small elf made sure to keep extremely close to the other, though she feared that a stray blast would blow them to bits. Her tiny hand reached out and she took a hold of the others tail tightly, as though she was holding onto it for dear life. "Are we going to be okay? Is Kiri going to wake up? Why are you still bleeding? You are going to be okay, right? "She began to question everything, she probably would have just sat quivering in that room the entire battle had the others not come back for her. She managed to calm down a bit however when the castle began to disappear from view. She had grown up there, but the only person she considered her family was in the Kaniers arms right beside her. Shinya too, she didn't know him much and most people around the castle seemed to hate him, but she found herself wanting to be his family too.

As soon as Kirito was sat down, she used the opportunity to rush around Shinya so that she could take a hold of the bottom of the prince's shirt tightly. She looked up to see the large, blood stain on Shinya slowly getting larger. She was young, but even she knew that there was no way that was okay. Reaching over with her free hand, she lightly pulled at the othersarm before speaking. "There is a small cabin near here that the last king used as his get away when he was dying. We can hide there? I can show?" She spoke, giving him another light tug before pointing in the direction adjacent to them where she knew the cabin was. She only knew from her many play dates with other children around the castle grounds, where she had stumbled upon it one day playing hide and seek. It seemed like the perfect get away.

Panting Shinya leaned against the base of the tree looking down at Kirito and he coughed blood trailing down his jaw. "Yes..he will be fine...And I'll be fine too dont worry about me." he said gently and he moved smiling to the girl. He then winced his entire body shaking as his ears fell back on his head, he breathed through the pain, he was bleeding too much, he needed the bleeding to stop or else he would pass out here. He looked up lightly hearing the last part of the girls words, he knew that if they stayed here neither of them would get any better.

He moved and he pulled Kirito into his arms wincing again and he slowly stood to his feet wavering slightly on his feet. "Alright...please lead the way...Kirito needs to wake up and the only way I can do that is getting him somewhere safe.." he said breathing heavily and he moved slightly starting to walk in the direction she had pointed to. He wanted Kirito to wake up, to help him, he knew the boy would know how to physically help him with the wound. Shinya was only able to cut off the wound in order to stop the bleeding but healing and stitching and such was something he wouldn't be able to do on his own. They had already been walking for what seemed like hours and he wanted nothing to do but sit and wait for the boy to wake up so he could walk himself but that was something he couldn't do, he was the boys guard and he would need to take care of him even despite his own wounds.
