~*~FaLlEn*SnOw~*~
I close my eyes The day light dies The dreams soon flow My imagination grows Stars shine and twinkle In the dark blue sky The moon is all alone And because of this I cry. I run across the sands of time Music plays, such a beautiful chime. Diamonds glitter, rubies sparkle red, My sleep is so deep, its almost as if I'm dead. I'm smiling softly, though the tears still fall, I sing a song, and hear you call. The sun now rises, burning bright and warm It kisses my face, with a heavenly charm. I open my eyes, But for some reason and being Even when I'm awake, My soul is still dreaming.

Whimsicawl
Please Register/ Sign In, in order to see the links. Luckily stumbled on your poem before I fell asleep... My absolute favorite is the structure and symmetry of this poem. "I close my eyes." "I open my eyes." Speak for itself. "My imagination grows" resonates with "My soul is still dreaming". You remind me of one book which theorized that the soul is nonexistent and is created by physician perceptions of our eyes as well as contemporary new age nonsense - a.k.a our soul is something created by our imagination. Your explicit connection of 'continuity' imagination->grows and soul->dreaming may implicitly state dreaming=growth. Which is lovely because dreams, growth and theme of continuity as well as the giant fantasy and emotion in between the intro and conclusion spin a statement concrete, but both transient. (Sorry for blabbing and maybe misinterpreting. I like this poem. )
