Atlas hugged the other just as tight putting his head in the crook of the others neck.

"I'm sorry I choose the pups over you.." He held him.

"Lev....I don't want you to get hurt."

He just held the other.

Lev frowned at the hunter but kissed the side of his forehead.

-" You didn't choose anyone, you didn't know what would happen." He explained with little patience.

-"I'm fine... and I would have handled it." He mumbled.

Lev placed a hand on the back of the hunter neck and caressed him gently trying to make up for how much he'd frightened him.

-"I didn't sense it at all, I'm not even sure when it came so close to me..." He explained in an almost amazed voice. "What did it look like?" He asked, wishing he'd seen the thing rather than just feeling its breath on his skin.

Atlas looked at him.

"I don't know..it was so weird like a black mist at the same time solid I have no clue."

He just hugged the other more.

Lev though of the description for a moment.

-"It'd be good if it appeared again." He commented absentmindedly, his thought were centered around the monster.

-"Let's walk around some more, maybe well find it."

Atlas nodded and held the others hand.

"YA let's kill it."

Altas didn't like that thing he already knew it wasn't right.

It was ironic how the first time Lev was genuinely intrigued by a monster the hunter wanted to kill it.

"What?! No! " He frowned at the other man and took a step away from him.

-"Now you want to kill it... " He said in disbelief feeling as though the man was intentionally messing around with him.

"I never said there aren't things that should be die. It gave me a weird feeling like if I let it live I'll regret it." He sighed looking the other.

"It wasn't right."

His eyes glared with anger he, didn't understand but that thing, his gut said it should die.

-"You're being ridiculous." Lev stated and narrowed his eyes on the hunter.

-"It's the greatest monster I've ever seen if you're going to slaughter it at least have a better explanation than "I feel it should be dead". " He argued.

"What all the sudden you have a moral compass. I thought you said that they should all die."

Atlas smirked pissed.

"I trust my instinct."

-"Go to hell." Lev just said it as a warning that the other was getting him immensely angry.

-"You don't get to call me out on having no conscience just to get what you want now." His voice was much sharper than he'd ever intended it to be in a conversation with the hunter.

-"You can trust those things, you can trust your "instincts" but you can't trust me for once? Or does it really look like I have no idea what I'm doing and need you to take care of me?"

Atlas's eyes widened.

"What the fuck did you say to me!" He yelled. Atlas Had never shown this side of himself to anyone since the academy. He learned to suppress his true anger. His eyes narrowed looking at the other.

"I don't get to tell you, you have no morals! Me I've been fucking living with you!"

He was his fingers clenched into fist.

"You may have gone to the fucking academy like all you rich kids do but you know nothing about this, I trust animals, because they trust their instincts and know what is right and what is wrong. I trust myself because I was raised right. But I have never in my life since i lost them have ever trusted another fuck human being." He snarled the last part.

"Humans a fuckign pathetic."

-"You're fucking pathetic." At this point Lev's tone didn't even show any anger, his voice was dark and serious.

-"Anyone with half a brain would trust me, even though I'm a moral less rich kid, vrather than you. I was straightforward with you, and everything I ever said to you was honest, i trusted you over and over again... and you... you just pretend to like someone you obviously can't stand for some messed up reason." He only frowned moderately at the hunter as he spoke but it was apparent he was holding back much.

-"... do whatever you want to that thing, just don't expect me to help."

"Fine." Atlas siad sharply and turned.

"I will no longer be staying at your residence."

He started the walk back to the house to collect his things. He got there soon after and started to pack Drac came up onto his shoulder.

"Hey bud. Were getting out of here...I think it's about time to go back home." He sighed Atlas knew he still had leave time so the first time in years he was going back home.

"Let's go."

He hopped in the car and turned to leave.

This time, rather than blame himself and go on a rampage trying to get himself hurt Lev felt like a fool, like he'd been played. Of course part of him wanted to go after the hunter, he'd truly been honest when he'd told the man he cared for him. However, now he felt it wasn't up to him to stop anything, if the other wanted to leave and never return he would just cope with it just as well as he'd done when his friends shunned him. He was better off alone.

As the hunter packed and drove away he didn't do or say a thing.

Atlas drove and drove, not thinking doing nothing. It took hours before He got to the nearest town.

"He Drac should we stop and get some good old dinner food." The little animal sqeaked in reply.

Atlas smiled and turned into the dinner that was in the town walking into it.

Lev seemed almost calm on the outside, he was a mess of feelings on the inside but he wouldn't let it show even if there was no one around. Enveloped in perfect silence he stood beside the window where with his forehead pressed against the glad and looked out into the forest. Soon enough, he could see a large dark mass, a darkness passing by the edge of the woods and the sight of the creature watching him as it snuck by soothed his pain unusually.

Atlas sat down at the counter and ordered.

"Ah It feels good to be just us two."

It was a total lie...But what could he do now Lev didn't even believe that he liked him let alone love him..

He quickly shook his head. Getting rid of the thoughts.

The sizzling bacon came. "Awesome."

Lev didn't know how he felt about the hunter any more, but be knew that he felt lonely and now he was certain there was no one in this world that even cared if he as there or not but at least with that, he could do what he planed without worry.

With his expression still blank he dragged himself outside and casually headed over to the shadow that lingered along then front of trees at the edge of the clearing.

Atlas ate and ate, the bacon ws so good He set the money on the counter.

"Thank you ma'am" he yelled

"Come back again."

Atlas jumped back into the car and head to the town he grew up in....It was around 8 hour away...

"well let's get started."

As he came up to the creature Lev watched it with curiosity at first. The being didn't seem threatening and it looked back at him calmly, its shadowy form gradually transformed into something smaller that appeared weak and fragile. It howled a melodic tune, and slowly its cry unfolded into a song that sounded devastatingly sad to the human. Before he could even realize it, tears were sliding down his cheeks.

Atlas drove and drove and drove, 8 hours past but it felt more like 18 hours. Once he got into town he was to find the small town house his friend owned. He was there fast knocking on the door.

A tall man 6' 4 or 5 , answered the door a beer in his hand a child in the other probably around 6 years old, he had dark almost pitch black hair.

"Well I'll be damn if it ani't Al." He smiled at him "I haven't seen you since those bastards took you away"

Atlas looked at the man.

"Mind if I crash here for awhile Nick?" Atlas asked timidly

"Ey you know what I said anytime you need someone I'm here for you little bro."

ATlas smiled brightly as the man let him in setting down the now awakened child, Atlas didn't really know the child it was due from Nick girlfriend the year he was taken. Nick was only about 23 now, he was alway atla's sotra protector an older brother.

"Hey Rain, this is your uncle Al."

Atlast crouched down to meet the child.

"Nice to finally meet you Rain."

Lev followed the creature into the forest and its form remained small and depressed all the while. Soon enough Lev didn't see the monster at all though, he didn't notice when it vanished this time and in truth he still felt it close by. He didn't think for a second of turning back or wandering off, instead he followed the phantom blindly. In an instance. He remembered how he'd followed the hunter, running after him without even knowing where the man wanted them to go. A sharp pain warned him not to think back to that and so did another sad cry from the monster.

-"Your pain is hurting us Lev." He could hear from behind himself and a hand layer gently on his shoulder. Of course he recognized the voice and glancing behind he saw a familiar face smiling at him sadly. He was sure he was losing his mind

"Wow your big." Rain was cute, Atlas remembered her mother while she was a nice teen only 16 when she had her. Nick being the older one told her if she didn't want to take the child he would care for it because he already had a steady job at the old bar to. Atlas rembered that was the first and last time he saw Nick cry, Because the women told him as soon as she had the kid she was leaving for a different town and to never contact her...Nick really did love her.

"I'm not as big as your dad though." Atlas replied.

"Yah...Daddy I'm going to bed..okay..See you Uncle...." She yawned walking off to what atlas pursumed was her room.

Atlas looked up at the other man.

"You've done a great job Bro. It's really amazing." Atlas complimented.

"Nah, Its all your doing I mean I really do owe everything I learned about raisen a good child from your mom and dad..and of course you Al." Nick put his arm around him.

"I'm sure you came back here for a bunch of fucked up stuff Al and you need help or some time away. But for tonight as a brother reuoin let's just drink." They sat at the counter each a beer in their hands.

"To brothers ."
