Kaito couldn't muster up any other words after Katsumi responded to his previous question. The elegance the man had when he dodged another's swing, the finest he displayed when bending and twisting at this waist. Kaito found himself stuck in the motion that was Katsumi. He had never once seen a man fight like that. Not his father, nor the knight that protected him. Kaito soon forgot about his studies as he watched from the window. He stood at it, leaning himself on one hand against the sill, the other bent and rested at his hip.

This was a man Kaito could keep by his side, the King's dog. A sudden twinge of pain struck at his heart, and Kaito had to stand straight, placing his hand upon his chest to help it go away. Was that what he really wanted to call Katsumi? A dog? The twinge came back and Kaito closed his eyes, forgetting about the fight for the moment. Why would his heart hurt so much after calling Katsumi his dog? Wasn't that what the King's personal guard was? That's what his father always called his own guard. Kaito shook his head in disbelief of his thoughts. No, no! Father was a true King! He would never have misused his right as the King. Kaito's eyes shot open when he hurt a cry from the courtyard.

One of his men had found his way to the ground, unable to defeat Katsumi. He clenched his hand into a fist on his chest as he watched the fight continue between his men and Katsumi. But something deep within him stirred, something he had never felt before. He felt rage, yes, one he's felt before, but at who? And for what? He felt regret, and loneliness, cowardly. He felt...'dumb'. What had his father been teaching him all this time? What could make Kaito think that all he knew now was for naught? That what he was taught, had all been wrong. Kaito had hit a rough patch living out his days as King, and he didn't know how to reverse the affects.

He decided that standing at the window wasn't help the pain much. So he went to sit back at his desk, closing his eyes and pinching the bridge of his nose. Now wasn't the time to start feeling like this. He needed to keep strong in front of his men, in front of Katsumi. Kaito quickly thanked God for not allowing Katsumi to see him now. For he would surely question the King he follows and Kaito couldn't take that risk. He wouldn't want to lose Katsumi now.

When Katsumi next looked up his master was no longer there. He sighed, it was boring if he wasn't going to get a command of any sorts, he couldn't be bothered to play against these men of simple sword work who only rehashed tricks they had learnt from others, men who had no imagination and no right to call themselves knights with not even a single move in their inventory that they had created themselves and that they could use against an enemy.

In a blur of movement Katsumi sheathed his sword and downed his enemies without a weapon, at least it added a hint of interest into the scenario to be more liable to get cut by a blade. But it was over within seconds and although he had probably wounded every man's pride who had stood before him by sheathing his blade to finish them he did not care, after all he was not here to make friends, enemies were more entertainment that friends anyway.

Walking to the edge he picked up his shirt and pulled it on again before looking over to where the women still stood watching, a wry smile on her soft features. Walking over to her he pushed the soft strands of hair out of her face and said in his soft gentle voice "Penny for your thoughts my lady."

She looked at him for a moment and Katsumi got the feeling she was trying, attempting, to read him like a book. But you can't read a closed book. "What were you after by that scene?" She asked but Katsumi just chuckled before he responded "Not what I achieved I am shamed to admit." He looked at the women "Your arm my lady?" He asked as he made to go. She nodded her consent and walked beside him.

Katsumi wandered the palace grounds with her letting her leave the way as she talked. He listened to what she said and responded but didn't bother to store any of it in his mind, it was all useless drivel anyway. But she knew her way around the palace and it was useful to get to know the grounds.

When dusk started to fall Katsumi knew almost everything there was to know about the palace and knew where all the secret passages were and had a map in his mind of where everything lead. He even had a pretty good idea of where the secret ones lead although it was all just guessing. As he passed a corridor leading to his bed chambers he took the women's arm for the first time and said softly in her ear. "Follow my lady, I promise you shall not be disappointed." She frowned but allowed him to lead her none the less.

Entering his room Katsumi removed his shirt once more and threw it onto a chair, pulling the hair tie out of the fine locks and placing his sword down. He sat on the bed, leaning against the soft pillows and motioned for her to join. The women relaxed next to him as he trailed his fingers down her neck making her shiver though she made no move to stop the arousing man beside her. Slowly he trailed his fingers lower allowing them to make quick work of the strings keeping her corset tight before they slipped beneath her skirt causing her to breath heavier and let out a slight moan as his fingers entered her.

Kaito had all but had enough of the days events. After fighting the burning feelings in his chest for almost thirty minutes before Gallo came to fetch him, then having to check upon the inventory of his supplies, only to find that someone had been stealing food from the kitchen and wine from the winery, Kaito was exhausted. He had laid in bed for most of the rest of his day until dusk, when Gallo came once more to fetch him.

"Your highness, it is past your eating hours. Are you partaking in dinner tonight, sire?"

Kaito rolled onto his side, clothes still worn, the only thing he had removed was his armor, even his shoes remained tied on his feet. He groaned to Gallo, "I'm not hungry. Maybe later. Better yet, take it all to Katusmi. I'm sure he's hungry." Settling himself back into his earlier position, he watched as Gallo left the room, closing the door behind him. Clicking his tongue, Kaito threw his arm over his eyes, blocking them from what little light was left of the setting sun.

In the silence and darkness of his room he could hear Katsumi's door open. He thought about getting up to speak with him, but the moment Kaito realized another pair of footsteps following Kaito decided to leave it alone. "That damned dog is in heat. Disgusting!" Kaito's thoughts roamed once more, wrapping his mind around his Father and how he taught Kaito. Once more Kaito could feel that bubbling pain well up in his chest, and the burn of tears forming in the corners of his eyes.

How he wished he weren't alone. He missed his father greatly, and wished he could have learned more from the previous King. Kaito also wished that he could have met his mother. He had been told that he looked like her, with the same brown hair and eyes. Kaito curled into a ball just as the last of light left his room. Now he lay in utter darkness. He knew well that he wouldn't get a single ounce of sleep this night either. Perhaps tomorrow would bring better sleep.

Katsumi knew full well that his master was in the room adjacent but he never thought to stop, that would be far too boring and wouldn't amount to any sort of satisfaction. For a while he allowed the women to get her fill before he flipped her over so he was on top and she lay with her face in the pillows. He smirked as he pulled lightly on her hair and whispered in her ear. "Moan your desire for me lovely." He patronised her in his most seductive voice that dripped with desire and sounded as smooth as his sword and just as sharp.

Removing the rest of the women's clothes Katsumi caressed her smooth skin with his fingers before he pushed himself inside her with little preparation, he would never see her again, well maybe he would but neither of them knew the others name so what did it matter. The women was loud that was for sure and she begged, begged for more and begged to be kissed but Katsumi's lips never went near her body and certainly didn't touch her own plump lips and his leather trousers were never removed from where they en clothed his legs.

When they were done Katsumi sighed and went to clean himself up in the bathroom. When he returned the girl was already asleep on his bed. Rolling his eyes at how pathetic and weak women were he walked out of the room shutting the door gently behind him. He knew the bed was softer than anything he had slept on in a long time but he wasn't tired and couldn't sleep iin the same bed as someone else anyway. Walking over to a window in the corridor Katsumi glanced at his Kings door wondering if he was still awake before he crossed to the window and leant on the sill as he looked out across the palace courtyard and into the city, the coo wind blowing his hair slightly as he watched the silent streets and swooping bats.

Kaito thought he had been blessed with the feeling of sleep, but sleep never came. He lie awake for only minutes before he started hearing the moans of a woman. He knew exactly where they were coming from. squeezing his eyes closed, covering his ears with his hands and cradling himself into a ball on his bed, Kaito forced himself to not listen. To many times before had he heard his moans coming from his Father's room. This fact itself was probably the reason why Kaito disrespected woman more so then any one else he knew.

Lasting longer then what he was hoping for, Kaito found himself dredging the fact of allowing this man to stay in the castle. Figuring he'd had enough, Kaito swung himself off the bed, made his way towards his door and swung it open. With the force he used it wasn't surprising when it slammed and hit the wall behind it. Kaito took one step out of his room and found Katsumi standing at the window in the hall. He glanced at his room, the door had been closed. At some point Kaito must have missed the fact the noises ended before he left.

Kaito took the few steps needed to close the distance between his room and the window. Crossing his arms he stood before Katsumi, a stance that said 'I am the King. And you broke my trust'. Of course, the two never once had trust to begin with. He looked away from the man, his hair dancing about his shoulders, Kaito didn't want to show him much of his tear stained face. "I take it you've found some fun here in my castle." He still didn't look at him. Whether he as to disgusted, angry, or embarrassed for his minds thoughts, he couldn't tell.

Kaito glanced once more at the room in which Katsumi resided. He wondered if the woman, whoever she was, had remained in his room or had left. Perhaps he should banish her from the Kingdom. Perhaps all women. He scrunched up his face and tensed his body, trying hard to forget what he had thought just now. If his dog needed women, then he'd allow it. Just not where he could hear it or witness it. "I've forgiven you this time. But it shall not happen a second. Understood, Katsumi?"

Katsumi didn't look at the other merely saying "my lord we never had trust there is a difference between trust and orders. I do not desire your forgiveness not do I need it, you never forbade me to bed a women, if you had I wouldn't have done so, orders are everything my lord, learn the lesson." He didn't say he understood, it was a request and he was under no obligation to follow a request.

Continuing to look out of the window katsumi watched as a cat darted through the streets close on the two of a rat, it was as good as dead.

Kaito's eyes widened upon hearing the words Katsumi spoke. Of course he knew they were true, but somehow he wished it weren't. Kaito lowered his head, feeling somewhat disgraceful, and clicked his tongue. Tears began bubbling once more in the corners of his eyes. Why did he tear up so easily now? He'd never done so so far, it wasn't until Katsumi came to this castle did his emotions become unstable.

Without another word, and without looking at Katsumi, Kaito left him where he stood. Forgetting about the reason why he left his room in the first place, he went back. Slamming the door behind him, he leaned against it, fighting as hard as he could to force back the tears. He hated himself right now. What type of King was he to feel so emotional. He grit his teeth before pushing off the door and kicking at it once. Wrong thing to do. Kaito lost his footing as his bare foot, now burning with pain from kicking the door, forced him to topple over. He held onto his foot and quietly cussed out to the ceiling. This night had been enough for him, and he was done.

Kaito decided to remain on the floor. He had made no attempt to get back in to bed or to even get closer to his bed. After his foot had stopped hurting as fiercely as it first had, he lay on the floor. Kaito curled into a ball, hugging his legs close to him. He could care less at this point who would find him in the morning. Overcome with sleep, Kaito finally fell.

Katsumi rolled his eyes as the male disappeared, how boring. He had at least expected an order, maybe this boy wasn't the man he thought he was, a man who could command him and hold complete control over him, but still he wasn't going anywhere, he would just have to show the king that if he didnt give commands his wishes wouldn't be met. He smirked as he looked out the window. The women didnt seem like she was going to be leaving his room any time soon so he doubted he would sleep tonight - sleep was over rated anyway.

As dawn started to break over the parapits Katsumi returned to his room, the girl was fast asleep "lazy bitch." He murmured to himself, this was why he hated women. Picking up his sword he did the belt up around his waist and grabbed some money, he was going out to find a seamstress to make him some new clothes, his only shirt was dirty and he didnt feel like wearing something dirty.

As he wandered the city outside the palace the streets slowly began to fill, gradually people came out of their homes and started working. Filling the streets with a quiet murmer that slowly grew as the sun rose higher. He wandered into a number of merchants holdings, women sewing at their desks smiled at him but he didnt give any of them his patronage, they all had women clothing in the windows and the men's clothing inside wasn't half as good quality. Finally he came across a small shop near the edge of the city, in its windows were robes and garments and clothes of state. It was old and rarely looked used but Katsumi entered with a smile thinking he had finally found somewhere good.

It wasn't until late morning when Kaito woke up, an unusual time for him to be awoken. The nights events brought with him very uncomfortable sleep. He couldn't stop having dreams of the people in his life, of his mother who past, of his father who past. His worse dream was of everyone leaving him behind, not even looking back to see if he was following them. Of course he was, but each step he took the farther they got.

Kaito finally decided sleep was no more needed when he woke up, drenched in sweat, after watching himself get shot in the chest by multiple arrows, all from the people closest to him. Even Katsumi, in the dream, had shot at him four times. Kaito couldn't bare the pain anymore and remained awake for the rest of the night, watching as the skies changed hour after hour.

When morning came and the maid had come to wake Kaito up, he was already getting dressed. He had changed out of his linens from yesterday and now dressed himself in a blue silk shirt, black cloth pants and a black vest to accent the blue shirt. He had been sitting on the bed putting his shoes on when she entered. And it was when she came to finish dressing him did she notice his unsteady posture, the slowness in his stride, his eyes truly showed no sign of light in them. Kaito left the maid where she sat by his bed side, wondering what had become of her King.

Katsumi heard the tinckle of the bell that announced the presence that his silent footsteps hid. Even he couldnt stop the tickle of a bell. Smiling as he walked in he walked over to a display and inspected the handy work of the clothes; the stitching was tight, strong and precise. The fabric soft and pure, the cut of the fabric falling perfectly and the variety of clothes astounding. Nodding, satisfied he padded over to the owner, short man with small eyes who sat at the counter measuring fabrics and typing numbers.

"Morning good sir." Katsumi said cheerily well aware of the fact he lacked even a shirt and stood in front of this man with only his leather pants and a sword adorning his body.

"I need some clothes made and a shirt imediatly, if you can do it in the hour I shall pay you double." The man just looked at him raising an eyebrow obviously not believing the man before him had anything like that amount of money. Katsumi raised an eyebrow back before throwing the purse of gold onto the counter. "I ask again." He replied patiently. This time the small man got up and started working, picking up a tape measure he ushered the knight to the centre of the room and started taking measurements noting them down in a scrawl on paper before finally asking "what is it you require then sir?"

Katsumi considered the question. "A simple linen shirt, a number of different ones of different fabrics and for different occasions; price is no object might I add. I also require three sets of robes, one light blue, one black with silver trim and one pure white. All need to be lined beautifully and embroidered and embellished with elegance and style. On top of that I need simple leathers to go with all of them and a couple of spares." As he was talking the man noted everything down before looking up when the instructions were over.

"And what of thee shirt within the hour?" He asked

Katsumi thought for a second "simple but fit before a king and frilled sleeves. That is all. I'll wait here." He spoke before turning as the man scurrried of to start working and he was left to admire the clothes in the shop and watch out the windows as people began to hurry backwards and forwards.

Not more then an hour had past and Kaito had found his way back into his room, sneaking away from the work he had piled up before him. One maid had noticed him excusing himself towards his sleeping quaters, but thought nothing of it. It wasn't until another hour or two went by, and he didn't return she went to check on him. The maid had made it to his room and knocked on the door, there was no answer. She knocked again, this time calling to Kaito as she did so, there was still no answer, the maid entered. When she crossed the room and found Kaito, asleep in his bed, she tried to wake him. Unfortunately he never stirred, and became worried when after five attempts of waking him failed.

She had quickly ran out of the room, hurriedly running to Gallo. She had seen Katsumi leaving the castle grounds and knew he wasn't back yet. So going to his room would be fruitless. Soon Gallo and the maid were running back to Kaito's room. They opened the blinds and found that he still didn't stir. Which was abnormal, seeing how the sun rose into his room and sunk on the other side of the castle wall.

Gallo called out to Kaito multiple times, and to no avail, none of them woke the King up. Luckily for them, their worries had died once Kaito spoke, in his sleep. He had tossed onto his other side, facing the opened blinds. Thus causing him to wake up from the brightness of his room. Kaito opened his eyes, getting blind in the process. When he looked over his shoulder at the room before him he noticed Gallo and the maid staring back at him. Instantly he fell back onto his pillows and mumbled to them.

"Close the blinds. Leave me alone. I don't want to eat either. I'm staying in bed the rest of the day."

Gllo and the maid looked at each other, both wondering what on earth happened with their King. Gallo spoke up to Kaito then.

"It is unhealthy for my lord to stay in bed all day, especially without eating. If your set on staying here, please, at least let the cook make you something to eat."

Kaito shook his head, the best he could for keeping it against his pillow. Instead he raised his arm and pointed at the blinds and without looking back at the two spoke to them.

"Please Gallo, shut the blinds and leave me."

Before the two left his room, both absolutely struck with worry, Kaito called back, his voice cracking.

"Don't tell Katsumi."

Katsumi waited for a time listening to the soft cutting of fabric and the gentle mechanical sounds of the sewing machine as it pierced them and transformed them into something new and more beautiful. For a time he watched both the work and the people outside before he tired of such things and opened the window. The wind blew softly. It smelt fresh and clear at it's heart but surrounding that core was thee real truth of the world and that scent was fire, soft and hardly noticeable to anyone who didn't know the words of the wind but to Katsumi it was as clear as the day was bright, if only one bothered to open their eyes. He smiled, thee words had proven true, a fire was coming and it would wreak havoc upon the kingdom and upon his master but what form it would take he could not tell but for sure there was a little while of peace left in the kingdom.

Forty minutes later the little man coghed and held up the finished shirt. Taking it from his hands Katsumi pulled it on and did up the buttons. It fitted perfectly, it was designed to be loose but when he tucked it into his trousers it fell of his shoulders in such a way that showed off the power that they held. The sleeves were ruffled as he had requested and the fabric pulled tight just above his wrist with two neat pieces of string to adjust it with while the ruffles hung loosely to the joint in his thumb with just enough length to look royal but little enough to allow his hands to move freely when wielding a blade. Nodding, satisfied, he said "If your robes are as good as your shirts i have chosen well. I shall return tomorrow to collect at east one more shirt and pair of leggings while i shall collect the rest in a couple of weeks." Turning he walked away, leaving the bag of gold on the counter, it was more than enough for the clothes and he didn't need it any more. He was the Kings possession now and only the King could decided what he was and wasn't allowed.

When he returned to the palace he found his room instantly having in his possession now a mental map of the entire castle.

For a moment he paused outside the room listening. Someone was inside. Soft breathing, gentle humming, heavy footsteps - not as heavy as men's though. She was still there. He glowered at the door annoyed that his bitch was still in his room. Turning on his heels he walked back down the hallway in a significantly worse mood. Bursting into the counting room he saw immediately that his King was not there. Then where?

He checked every room that it was normal for a king to frequent, he wasn't in any of them. Finally he stopped maid in the hallway, in no mood to be polite or civil with the women he glared at her as if it were all her fault, his grey eyes sharp and foreboding, darkening with his mood. When he spoke his voice was as sharp as his blade and every bit as cold "For one so simple I ask a simple question: Where is my lord master the King?" His words were harsh but not as harsh as his voice or his eyes which burned with a dark hatred that his master would never see only hear of.

Kaito remained in his bed still, his sleep growing heavier and heavier as the day passed. Gallo had entered once more prior to him leaving for his daily errands to see if Kaito were hungry. Once more, Kaito turned down the food. He had been in bed for most of half a day. He felt fine, despite the spells of headaches he received from time to time. During those times he'd have to squeeze his eyes shut and hope they left soon. When Gallo entered the last time, Kaito had had one, but he made sure to not let Gallo know.

At some point he had fallen asleep once more. When he awoke for another spell he notices the shadows in his room. It was late in the day, with still much light to play with until dawn. When he tried falling back asleep he heard footsteps outside his door, across the hall. When they walked away without hearing a door closing behind them he figured he just heard nothing. But when the footsteps returned and this time Katsumi's voice followed, he turned over, facing the door.

Kaito was to weak to get up, so he began calling out to Katsumi, even though his voice was also weak and hoarse. As if a baby mouse were squeaking for its mother, Kaito called out for katsumi.

"K-Ka-tsu-mi....Ka-tsumi."

His voice scared him, never before had he witnessed his own voice to sound like that. And he hoped Katsumi could hear him, through his hushed tone. He didn't know what drew him to the man, but right now all he knew was that he wanted Katsumi by his side. Somewhere inside Kaito, told him he wanted to feel somewhat closer to him.

The maid was terrifies, he could see it in her eyes and feel the waves of fear rolling of her hot skin like a tidal wave. Her voice was caught in her throat and Katsumi would have pushed her against the wall and made her that much more scared if he hasn't heard his masters voice. His sensitive ears picking up the almost silent sound.

Turning on his heel then knight pushed through the solid oaken doors of his masters bedroom letting them slam shut behind him. Bowing, his hand over his heart he said softly, his voice like the softest silk once more and his eyes returning to their soft grey, the flecks of gold comforting once more rather than dangerous with anger.

The room was dark he noted. Dark and silent. He wondered what was happening but he stopped himself, his job wasn't to wonder, his job was to obey unconditionally, without thought for himself. So he would obey and not wonder nor question. He remained knelling his head lowered respectfully and his hand over his heart.

"K-Katsu-m-..." Kaito felt far more tired then he should have been. Perhaps he'd already spent most of his day sleeping, perhaps it wasn't. His throat was dry from not drinking, his head spun and his stomach churned from not eating. But no matter how he felt, he wouldn't give in to his body. He called out to Katsumi once more when he heard the doors shut, knowing well that Katsumi had entered.

When he heard nothing again, and silence fell once more. Kaito worried Katsumi had left, thinking in all this darkness he wasn't there. He called out once more, trying to call out louder, without his throat burning from doing so. At the same time he reached out in to the space between the two as if he'd be able to touch him, even though he thought he wasn't there. Kaito's eyes burned, tears threatening to fall again.

Was he alone? Did Katsumi, like his Mother and Father, leave his side too? Did Gallo? Was everyone in the castle, in the cities, the kingdom, gone? This frightened him more then anything. Of course he hid his emotions well behind his stubborn and ruthless attitude as king, but the truth always came out in the end. More so at night, in the comfort of his own self, away from everyone else. He didn't want to be left alone again, not anymore.

Katsumi tried his best not to but his master sounded so weak, nothing like he was yesterday that he simply had to roll his eyes although whether it was in annoyance or simply out of amusement he could not have said. "My Lord, the day is nearly over and the Kingdom needs its King. Why then do you lay here neglecting your duties to your people and giving me requests instead of orders. Did I not say before that I came to you because of your reputation as a ruthless man?" He spoke simply, rising as he did. As it stood at the moment he was under no obligation to be polite to the King, he cared not for rank or respect. Only for commands and orders and so far he had received none from his master so he would follow none and respect no standard etiquette.

Standing straight and tall, his blade at his hip Katsumi reflected on what a pathetic excuse for a day it had been so far, The bitch he had bedded the previous night remained upon his bed, no person within the castle could tell him anything particularly useful, he had spent the morning wandering the street with the unclean peasants of the realm and now his master appeared to be bed ridden with an incapability to order him around. His eyes betrayed his annoyance but he quickly softened it and forced himself not to purse his lips. The was his master and before him he would be a picture of perfection and composure.

Kaito couldn't stand being bed ridden himself. But the night's occurrences that kept him awake, and even the thoughts running cold through his blood now iced his heart. Hearing the slight annoyance in his knight's voice, Kaito knew he had done some sort of wrong. That's all he had been doing lately. Kaito lowered his hand that reached for Katsumi and pulled it back towards his own body. He tucked his arm under his chest and stared at him. He felt betrayed in that one instant as he remained away from his bedside.

Kaito turned over onto his side, facing the windows and pouted. Much like a five year old child would. He knew he was being pathetic and stubborn, but if it were a demanding king Katsumi wanted then he would either have to deal with a child's demands or wait for a proper King when Kaito had replenished his energy.

"How dare a fool like you not comfort his King. Fine, leave then, find another woman to bed. I could care less anyway."

Kaito's own words hurt him. He didn't want to be that cruel and rude to Katsumi. Kaito almost turned back over to apologize, but quickly relinquished that thought and remained still where he lay. He wasn't going to give in to his overwhelming and lonely feelings. He remained silent, listening to man behind him.

Katsumi looked at the back that was turned away from him wondering what he was to do. Despite his coaxing and his desires the King, it would appear he was yet to become His King, was refusing to give him orders preferring instead to throw backhanded requests at him that were full of undertones and desires that he did not care to contemplate. For a moment he considered leaving and finding another women as the male had asked him to but then that would have been obeying a request and he certainly wasn't going to rise to doing such a thing, it went against his word as a knight and his desires as a man.

So he moved towards the other and laying across the foot of the bed he put his arms behind his head and closed his eyes saying "If you are asking me to do so then I think I would rather not, that women refuses to leave my room and since I have gone about my personal business for the day and have nothing of Royal note that has been put upon me I think I shall retire for a while." A faint smirk covered his lips as he lay on the unnecessarily comfortable bed and beheld the inmost workings of his thoughts in the silence while outside the doors he could hear the pattering of feet against the stone hallway.

Kaito ignored Katsumi, whether he left his room or not he wouldn't do anything. Of course it would bother him to no ends if he had in fact followed his childish demand. When he heard no footsteps walking his heart beat was calm and content. But as soon as he heard them his beating increased, the blood rushing through his body faster then normal. He squeezed his eyes shut, as if the light were to bright for him. Kaito couldn't tell if the footsteps were coming towards him or not. It was when he felt the bed at his feet sink, did he realize the footsteps came closer to his bedside.

Kaito's eyes widened in surprise when Katsumi lay across the foot of his bed. He even spoke up to him, telling him he was ignoring Kaito's demands. Kaito clutched his shirt at his heart into his fist, a small sigh of relief flowing through him. He took one breath in before hazily he sat up, sitting side wards from Katsumi. Kaito didn't look at him, just sat there, knowing Katsumi would watch him in his steed.

When almost five minutes passed since he last sat up and neither had spoken a single word, Kaito decided it was time he did. He looked over at Katsumi, noticing the beauty and refinement in his choice of clothing. He practically looked away again, a small blush crossing his cheeks in the darkness.

"I-I'm sorry for my attitude. I know that's no way for a King to act. I hope you let me make it up to you once more. I'd like to keep you by my side, my knight."

Kaito looked at Katsumi once more, some confidence returning to the pale face of the restless King.

Katsumi fell into a sleepless trace, it was a state he had perfected through many hours and months of practise and allowed his body to rest while his mind stayed alert and capable of arising if even the slightest movement was out of the ordinary. His body was perfectly still and his breathing even almost a as if he were truly asleep.

The knight was aware that the bed had shifted, that his lord was sitting up, but for the moment he posed no threat and there was no immediate signs that hissbattention was required so he allowed his body to rest onwards and try to regain some of the energybhe had lost through his restless night. Of course he would have to sleep at some point or his body would collapse but for now this was enough.

When he heard the king speak he opened an eye and hummed his acknowledgement. "You need not explain yourself to me I am but your servant, I never said I would leave I can not without your order." He was silent for a moment before starting again this time trying to get through to the king with an analogy. "My king. I am sure one of your status has played chess. Prey tell me of a time a pawn has moved without the masters moving of him." He paused to let the words sink in. "It doesn't happen, I am that pawn and I require orders from my king or I can not move. That is why you struggle with me. It sdoesnt matter what you order me to do be it to lay down my life, lay down the life of another or sell my body for information. You may order anything of me as I am your pawn in our game of chess." He fell silent wondering if the other had understood "Your orders could be the wealth or distraction of this land." He added knowing that the winds never lied and they were getting heavier. Something was coming.

Kaito listened completely as the words Katsumi spoke sunk in. A pawn in chess that cannot move. He turned away from Katsumi once more, reflecting on his behavior to his knight. The man had told him already many a times, that he would not leave his side so long as he did not order him to. Nor would he do anything without the King commanding him to do so. Kaito nodded, not to Katsumi, but to himself. He had to be there for his King. To regain the strength he had just recently lost.

Kaito stood up from his bed, holding on to gain his weakened balance. When he did, he turned and walked around the bed, facing Katsumi as he remained laying on the bed. Kaito stood proud and crossed his arms over his shoulders. His stance was still weaker then it should have been, but exhaustion would do that to any man. His eyes however were starting to recover the power they once held. And as he stood there before Katsumi he swore that his behavior would change, that he would become the King Katsumi wanted to follow.

"It's time things change! Don't you think? Its time I rule my Kingdom the way I would rule it. Not the way My father or the past King's would rule."

Kaito's nightmares frightened him, always kept him up at night. But at the same time, when he really thought about it, the meant something. Perhaps they too were telling him to be the King Katsumi wanted. And it was now that he would make that decision. He walked off towards his separate closet, a room on its own that housed all of his clothes.

"Katsumi I need to change! Help me find clothing to wear!"

Katsumi allowed himself a slight smile as he felt the air around him shift. He truly had gotten through to his lord and master. His thoughts were only confirmed when the other spoke. The words were not quite and an order but then they were close enough for him to accept, one cannot expect a person to be perfect on their first attempt, after all even a king was human.

Standing up he followed the other into the next room and observed the closet full of all different kinds of clothes. It put the megar clothes he had ordered to shame, although he doubted this male had managed to find a seamster as good as his. The thought amused him but he kept it to himself.

Turning to his king he asked "what attire is of your preference this evening my lord?" His voice was level but still anyone could see the glint in his eye that made his voice dance and trwmbke with beautiful tones that could make grasses dance.

Kaito observed his clothing, He didn't want to stick with the normal silk shirts and pants. Perhaps something completely different. Something that brandished him as rightful King. He looked back at Katsumi after he has asked Kaito what had interested him. He noticed the beautiful clothing Katsumi wore, so perhaps something that could match his knight. Leather pants? A cloth shirt?

"What do you think Katsumi? Would there be something you would pick out among the rest?"

Kaito scanned trough his shirts. He was liking the red shirts he had found over the blue. One in particular that its sleeves stopped at his forearms, knit with an elegant embroidery around the cuffs. The chest of the shirt proudly displayed a small v-cut at his neck and once again embroidered with a gold stitch like the arm cuffs had been. The same stitch found its way down the sides of the shirt and around the ending of the shirt.

"What about this one? You don't think its too much do you?"

Kaito began scanning his pants, but no matter what he saw he couldn't find a pair of pants that would match the shirt. And he figured a nice over coat of sorts would be welcomed, instead of his usual armor. He stood staring at his pants for minutes later before he sighed and looked back at Katsumi.

"What do you think I should wear with the shirt? I've never picked out my own clothes before."

Katsumi waited patiently his eyes following the movement of his king as he stood before his inordinate wardrobe trying to work out which of the shirts to wear. He had to smile at it, here he was standing in the only shirt he possessed while this male was stood before the luxurious sight of more shirts and coats than one could possibly wear in a life time.

"Sire, such is not for me to decide but my own inclination would be to wear something simple to accentuate the ornate embroidery upon such a shirt." He bowed his head respectfully at the end before lifting it again and looking at the small king before him making sure not to meet the mans eyes, it would, after all, be extremely amiss of him to meet the eyes of the one who held him within his power pulling the strings behind his movements and words.

"Hmmm, I think you might be right." Kaito, resting his chin in his hand in a thinking position looked at his pants as if he were recognizing a piece of art. He finally chose a pair of brown cloth pants, somewhat baggy around the legs, but held firm to his figure for easy movement. He looked over at Katsumi then, noticing his eyes never meeting him. He had frowned mentally, making sure not to show it on his own face. Kaito began then to walk out of the closet.

"Do you have clothing Katsumi? I know I've only seen you in those two shirts, but I can order you clothing if you need some." He turned to Katsumi again has he walked over to his bed, laying the clothes on the bed. He stood next to them and watched Katsumi before even touching them again. "Oh, uh...I, uh...I've never put on clothing like this. Just this morning I attempted to put on these simple clothes and managed to miss a whole bunch of the buttons." Kaito slightly chuckled to himself embarrassingly. He hated to admit he didn't know how to do anything on his own.

Unfortunately that was how he was raised. Young master this. Prince that. My lord here. Your excellence there. And each and every person bent at their knees to give him anything and everything. Even now, he knew how to put the pants on, but the shirt was something entirely different. There were parts of the sleeves that it pulled and tightened. The waist was the same way as the sleeves too. It was normally a maid or even Gallo who'd help him change into such elegant clothing. But right now all there was were Katsumi.
