jo_suzaku
- The Conquest - The bright ball of fire ascended into the sky, As they rode towards the battlefield. "Gather round, oh men of war", said the leader standing tall, "Our battle is about to begin. But before we go, I'd like to say - This war isn't over until it's won. You all know that we cannot fall. Our enemies may be strong and mighty. So it's up to us to make them pay. With our minds and with our hearts. Let us win this war for us." Then the leader with a mighty roar, charged straight out in battle-mode. Her subordinates saluted and cheered loudly. They had to win, it was a must. Following their leader, they headed out. She was like a beacon on their dusty road. Swords and knives clashed. Arrows flew. The war began with a mad frenzy. People were killed left, right and center. But the leader moved through it all with no fear. Their eyes raised towards her, the men fought on. To make sure those who fell would live on. As the battle waged on, the leader grew tired. But the man before her had steel blue eyes, so clear. He feinted to the left and doubled around. The leader was thrown off her horse, as she fell to the ground. She rolled to the side, dodging his attack. Stood up straight and continued her sword fight. He was strong, she was quick. He was merciless and so was she, as she swung herself around. The knife was small and plunged in deep, she did not feel it until she killed him with her might. Those clear eyes crinkled and softly said, "I will die. But this will be your last breath." She stood up and surveyed the mess. The battle was at it's fierce best. "Nooooo!" screamed the opposition as they witnessed their dear general's death. The sword was too heavy, she used it to support herself as she looked out at the rest. "Fight well, you brave soldiers of war. Don't you dare disappoint me", she said. She fell to her knees and the blood gushed out. A ghost of a smile played upon her lips as they won. Arms wrapped around her as she was carried out. "Don't you dare die on us", her men called. "Don't be dead!" She sighed as she felt the heat leave her body. She had taken out the leader. Her mission was done. The bright ball of fire descended slowly As they turned their backs on the battlefield. - Jo -
Saga
Tragic, it is. When I am on topic war/battle fields, it is always this flow of thoughts; "Honor and glory, such illusions perpetrated by heroes throughout history, have led countless young man to their bloody deaths, all for the sake of this valor and glory. There is no hope on battlefields, it has nothing but unspeakable despair. Just a crime we call victory paid by the pain of the defeated. Yet humanity has never recognized this truth."
