In the heart of the city where most corporate employees work for the good of their company is the busiest place where only the number of money talks most, name, relations and connection to other companies as for human reasons … It barely gets recognized or acknowledge by the board but everything in the city is provided for the citizen’s convenience, just to keep It’s people progressive in their daily lives and performance at work. The City may be considered as the heart of the country that stretched out from one place to another. Conflicts between companies became an ordinary matter. Like asking out a random girl as a street punk with words sugar coated wearing an angel’s smile and a demon’s aura, anything for the convenience for the company itself. Conflicts between employees are treated with care because it may bring down the performance of the company and delay the work of another department.

There are rumors spreading out and No company know about this rumor. It is said that in a certain company has a demon known as the stingy and greedy demon lurks in the company that only one percent of the business proposals are approved and it’s not that easy to get an approval from this demon. The demon’s name is Daeji Akiyama, a young finance executive of the company at the age of 28. Hey may have the looks of an idol but when it comes to work people are scared of him and see him as a great demon of treasury.

“Mr. _____ I believe that your business proposal is …. How do we say this in a friendly way?”

Daeji taking his moment to think for the right words to use or to describe as he looks down on the folder he declined placed on his desk as he repeatedly taps it.

“Mediocre maybe? … But best described as garbage to burn so try again next time … or do not try at all. As far as I can remember all your proposals are the same one after another. Now if you Excuse me for my work here is done.”

It has been a tiring day for Daeji by just looking at the work from his subordinates and endlessly denies them because there is no future in it, if it gets approval and the money of the company will go to waste. Daeji does not want that to happen.

He exactly leaves his work at exactly 18:00 for there are other things he need to do and rarely goes overtime if badly needed. Today there is change of his routine where he goes to the library to borrow a number of literature books and return what he previously borrowed, for he finished reading them yesterday and met its exact due date. Normally he just picks random books to his liking, the cover, paper, design and oddness or its appearance but the most important to his description is the smell of the book. Daeji has this odd trait of determining the book's potential by its scent, you might be mistaken that he has scent fetish, actually he does not. It only occurs in terms of books, Nothing else.

Though the story does not matter as long there is something he could read on and gain knowledge and use them to his advantage. And he moves on to his next agenda.

As he finally reached to his condominium and immediately prepares dinner that suites his taste and flavor which met his satisfaction. He took a moment of rest before he cleans up the table so that he could proceed to his bed and read books as he finishes his day. His lifestyle may seem lonely at first due to the room's surroundings and environment, amazingly clean and very tidy. You rarely see a single disturbance of the room's aura. Daemon enters his bed wearing only boxers under the cover and he picks up his first book to read which he describes it old and tattered at first. He expects from the book some complicated words that may challenge his vocabulary from it, since it's appearance is amazingly old. In every turn of the page makes him laugh, for the contents are all about the demon lores as such. It made him laugh thinking such thing exist, But he still continue to read it. As he turn a page he accidentally cut his finger from the pages and his blood spilled. He immediately puts down his book and start rummaging to his cabinet to disinfect the cut and treat it.

The underworld was to say the least a very dark unhappy place to be in. It was a very miserable place to be. The glory of the demons has long passed, and all that was left was despair. With no way out, they were forced to live with no hope of finding a way out. Well… not entirely. There was one way out of here, but it only the desperate used it. No real demon gave himself up to humans.

“Anyone heard anything about Akira?” Kiri asked.

“Last time I heard he gave in to humans…. such a shame” the winged demon answered with a sigh. “No one has seen him in….. who knows how long”

“Shame? More like good riddance” the horned man replied somewhat angrily.”He’d never aspired to anything good anyways”

“How can you be so rude?” Kiri asked, offended.

The horned man just shrugged. He wasn’t going to waste his precious time arguing about a nobody. The most demons felt the same about Akira as he did. They felt as if he betrayed them by giving in. Only Kiri felt bad for him, no one knew why. It was a mystery to them.

“Give it up kid, you’ll never see him again”

Dark smoke filled the room as the blood touched the page of the ancient book. When the smoke disappeared a young man with silvery hair and purple eyes had replaced it. Finally, he was free… except he wasn’t, well not entirely. The silver haired man looked around the room he was standing in with curiosity. The demon quickly concluded that it was a bedroom. It had been a long time he had seen one. As he looked more carefully he wondered what year it was. The decor didn’t look like anything he’d seen before, he had to explore more later.

It didn’t take long for him to spot the man who he assumed summoned him. The purple eyes ran over his more or less naked body, he didn’t look like much as he frantically searched his cabinet. Hopefully his first impression of his new master was wrong, but the more he watched him the more sure he became. All Akira could hope was that his new master wasn’t as cruel and unreasonable as his last one.

Pushing the horrible memories away he sat down on the bed, waiting for his new master to find what he was searching for. A quick whiff told him that it probably was something related a cut or a tiny wound. As the demon silently waited he began to wonder if his new master knew what he’d done, or if he’d be surprised when he turned around.

It took him a while to locate his aid kit inside the cabinet. Soon he was able to pull it out and place it on the surface of the bed drawer. The bleeding stopped when he was in the middle of the search. Still he will disinfect the cut to avoid any infections that may affect his work performance. Engrossed at such task Daeji was not able to feel the presence of the intruder until he finished wrapping things up. Daeji is about to put back the kit and finally he took notice of an unknown intruder inside the room. To be honest Daeji is surprised by this intruder. With his mind is bombarded with questions and doubt he may sue the security agency later for letting an intruder in without the permission of the resident. It seems that this intruder waited for him to finish his cut to be treated, instead of robbing his possessions or do any harm to him.

Daeji remained calm and keep his composure; yes he is internally surprised by the intruder being inside his room and waited. First, he has to cover his bare skin with a robe from his closet. Before he gets cold and then confirms the situation he is in.

His mind full of questions for this intruder that he does not know which questions to ask first. As far he can observe from this intruder it happens to be a male with amethyst eyes and white hair, “unusual color". But he has guts to casually sit on my bed” He thought. But he has to be careful for it seems that he is armed with a long blade. Daeji just assumed that this person wanted something from him, but has no manners when it comes to territory. Daeji crossed his arms looking at the male’s eyes.

“Get your ass off my bed and kneel on the floor.” Obviously that these words are only orders. He waited for the male to do so and when he does Daeji continues to speak.

“As you can see that I have plentiful questions for you to answer, I won’t waste my saliva to ask these but instead you will speak at your will. I expect you are a smart creature to predict my questions. I will ask you more questions when you are done speaking” Daeji carefully explained to the male intruder.

Daeji only hope that his life won’t end here, since he has nothing with him. Not even a single weapon with him for self-defense. If the intruder’s objective is to kill him, then he would have done so long ago. When he was busy tending his wounds. Daeji decided to take a seat on his bed facing the male’s direction looking at the eyes deeply as the intruder continues to explain his reasons.

“Get your ass off my bed and kneel on the floor.”

At his words, Akira slowly began to rise from the bed. As he shortened the distance between them, he continued to assess his new master. It hadn’t even been five minutes and he had already started to give orders. Well… it wasn’t like he had the right to complain, following orders was part of the contract after all… along with other things. The silvered haired man gave an internal sigh, but did as he said, throwing away the blade as he did so. The blade disappeared into thin air as he threw it away. Aki’s purple eyes met the other male’s for just a second, before his eyes went back to the floor.

“As you can see that I have plentiful questions for you to answer, I won’t waste my saliva to ask these but instead you will speak at your will. I expect you are a smart creature to predict my questions. I will ask you more questions when you are done speaking”

“So this is the man I’ll be serving for the next…. decades” Aki thought to himself, before he opened his mouth to speak.

“I am Akira Mikato, but you can call me Aki” he started. It was clear that his new master had no idea what he had done. Silently he wondered if he even knew anything about magic, or even if he believed in it. The demon used his tongue to wet his lips before he continued.

“You summoned me by using the book” he continued.

This was the first time he had actually needed to explain about he was and what not. His previous masters usually (if not always) had a plan about what to do with him, or at least knew what he was. This made him feel a bit… uneasy, since he was more of an action guy more than a words guy.

“And as the contract stated when you summoned me, you are my master. I will be your servant until you decide that you no longer want me, or until your life ends”

Amethyst eyes met his master’s, as if to show that he was he sincere with what he said. Although he quickly looked down again, knowing fully well that he was the inferior one.

“I’m at your service, no matter what the task is” the demon finished his brief explanation.

All that he ruled out was the history of the book and the history of himself, but it didn’t seem as if he was interested in hearing it. All he could hope that his brief explanation was satisfactory.

Daeji saw the male's weapon vanished with just a simple move. It made him wonder for a moment, on how he does such trick and where that weapon went. But there are other important matter that needs more attention than vanishing objects and magic tricks. He brushed out of his mind and pays attention to the male's explanation.

“Hmm odd words you say... Hearing fantasy words such as, summoning you from the book I just borrowed for the library." With his eyes locked on the male and continues on, "But I am pleased to hear that you will offer your services to me until my retirement or any action that displease me. That makes you my personal servant.” Using the word 'servant' seems inappropriate. It may sound scandalous to the public ears and cause him trouble in the future. He corrects himself immediately, “Though it would be better to have you as my personal assistant, where you just have to assist me in my need which is also a perfect description to your purpose here.”

It seems that Daeji is satisfied with Akira’s explanation and use the situation to his advantage. Right now he notice the time, it's already pass his schedule of reading books. He gets off his bed and gets his wallet from the bed drawer and gave his business card to Akira, "I'm Daeji Akiyama. A finance executive in __________ group of companies. Having you as my personal assistant would be a great help. I wonder if you can handle my demands from now on. But for now I have to instruct you on how things work here but first, on your feet and follow me." It has been a tiring day for Daeji to do any more than this, but for now he has to endure a little effort just for his personal assistant. He waited for Akira to get on his feet and goes out of the room leading him to an empty room. "Futons and spare clothes are in the closet." From now on this is your room to use and it has a bathroom. Breakfast is at six in the morning, anything else?" He looks at Akira's eyes for any question or confirmation.

“Though it would be better to have you as my personal assistant, where you just have to assist me in my need which is also a perfect description to your purpose here.”

“Just tell me what it is that you need, sire” Akira said in a humble voice.

"I'm Daeji Akiyama. A finance executive in __________ group of companies. Having you as my personal assistant would be a great help. I wonder if you can handle my demands from now on. But for now I have to instruct you on how things work here but first, on your feet and follow me."

“I will do my best in serving your every command, no matter what they’d be” he bowed his head slightly.

As he followed his new master he looked around. It seemed like a fancy place. The old masters he had usually lived poorly, and wanted to use him to either get power or get revenge on someone who put them in such a miserable place. However this didn’t seem to be the case with this one. This could be interesting….. or utterly boring. It depended on what he was used for.

" From now on this is your room to use and it has a bathroom. Breakfast is at six in the morning, anything else?"

“No, sire” he said, keeping his composure the best that he could.

This was…. unusual to say the least. He never had had a soft bed, or a room to himself. They always ordered him to sleep on the floor.

When Daeji left the room Akira sunk down on the bed. He had never once laid on something so soft in his life before. Yet he couldn’t sleep… the thoughts of his home wouldn’t leave him. How were they? Was it still as run down and miserable as it was when he left all those years ago? Have the hunters taken over? And more importantly would they accept him if he returned? Kiri probably would. Kiri…

Kiri ran down the streets of the run down city. Hunters was chasing her. After running down the alleyway she was trapped in a dead end. There was no hope for escape, even with her full powers. It was useless, but she wouldn’t go down without a fight.

Akira woke up early the next morning. Despite last nights worries he felt well rested. As soon as he got dressed the new clothes Daeji gave him, his tummy rumbled. He may be a demon, but even demons need to be fed. His tummy rumbled again. How long had it been since he last got fed?

It didn’t take him long to find where dinner was served. The chair he sat on was very comfortable. If this kept up he’d feel less like a servant and more like a guest. Was that a good thing or a bad thing? He didn’t know the answer, all he knew was that it was very unusual.

Daeji is displeased to be addressed as 'sire'. He close the doors behind him and put himself in deep thought, he should correct Akira first thing in the morning about it. He went back to his room sitting on his work place with his desktop on. It seems that the event won't put him to rest yet, because he has to print out the tasks for Akira. A day without rest won't risk his performance at work or his plan.

His first impression about Akira so far is: lost and confused even his timeline is outdated since the word 'sire' is used during the medieval times who has high nobility. But it can still be used at this time, but rarely to be seen or heard. But Akira said it himself that he is a servant. He only hope that Akira could perform his tasks well despite of his appearance. His first impression may get him wrong, so he has to discover more about Akira later. It's still impossible for Daeji to believe that the book can immediately contact the employment agency and bring the employee right away. His mind is a total mess thinking about it. For now he has to layout the chores for Akira and what he can possibly do in the near future.

Time surely runs fast when you are busy. Daeji noticed the birds chirping outside the window already, only to know that it's already sunrise. It's true that he is already tired from the yesterday's work but still have the energy spent for the chores layout for Akira. He prints out the task and puts it on his file and goes to bath and have his breakfast. He brings down with him his spare outdoor clothing for Akira to wear temporarily. It may seem to be very long and baggy for Akira to wear. He added to his plan that they should go to the tailors and clothing stores later. Luckily today is his day off, which means that there is no extra work to be done from work and concentrate to the situation he is in.

For now he reach out his spare clothes for Akira and prepared a simple breakfast; toasted bread, a pair of bacon and eggs with milk as beverage. Since someone's stomach is rumbling shamelessly.

"Your first task in the morning is to wake me up when breakfast is ready. For now I'll be serving breakfast, next time you should do it better than this."

Daeji places the plates on the table for them to eat on. His cooking is not good as a chef but it's enough for something g to fill a empty stomach. Cooking is not part of his skill, which is why he can only do simple breakfasts. There is no hope when it come to lunch and dinner because is expectation is high and the skills is low.

"Come and sit down with me because I'll be asking a lot of questions about you and your abilities while we eat."

Daeji takes out the folder with his print out and checklists to note on.

"First, I want you to drop addressing me as sire. I prefer to be addressed as Mr. Akiyama." Daeji takes a bite of his food and continues on,

"For your position as my personal assistant I want you everything that may ease my work with no troubles and conflict. It would be nice if you study about the city streets and places since I want you to drive for me."

And the orientation goes on about Akira being a personal assistant and a butler. Soon he finishes his plate and leaves the cleaning to Akira. Packing all the stuff Daeji needed before he gets off the room.

"Come down to the condominium parking lot when you are done, don't make me wait unreasonably long."

He went off ahead to the basement to start his car and listening to the calm music, as he waits for Akira to arrive. Daeji didn't told his plans to Akira but it's going to be a long day of walking around the city.
