“Thanksman-but I’m good,” Micah interjected at the earliest opportunity, only to correct himself quickly, “-Sorry man, its a pretty hectic week you know….And tea is not my cup of tea…” He chuckled a bit before sighing and lowering his gaze, his dreamy eyes seemingly at Jason’s feet for a while. The Christmas Musical was coming up and the rehearsals were intense.

“Well then, Jason,” Micah sprung up with a tone that indicated the end of conversation, “I’ll see ya on Friday,” he ended with a raise in his pitch. He raised his hand in a waive at Jason.

Jason smiled, nodding slightly. "I understand." He said simply, for a moment observing Micah. The other was so honest, with the exception of one single thing. Not many people were like that. "I look forward to it." He nodded slightly as a goodbye and turned around. However, after just a couple of steps, he stopped and turned back around. "Oh, my invite to watch our practice game on Saturday is still on, if you find time for it." He smiled again, his hands in his pockets as he took a few steps backwards.

"I can't wait to spend more time with you, Micah. See you!" The man smiled a bit wider, showing his perfectly white teeth before turning around to leave. What he said was true, but perhaps not in the way the other could understand.

Micah felt warm fuzzy feelings tug at his heart as Jason called back to him. “Yeah sure!” he replied emphatically.

"I can’t wait to spend more time with you, Micah."

Micah only smiled at him, his eyes crinkling happily as he waved back. He felt a warm tug at the heartstrings. I too want to be with you… As he gazed fondly at the fading silhouette of the man, he felt a growing sense of shame. It was perplexing, that he should feel shame instead of love or excitement. ’I’m sorry…’ he found himself muttering after the man was well out of earshot.

He swung the gates shut and turned around. He let out a fresh breath of air, stomping out all his earlier feelings. He smiled. There was only one thing that could cheer him up.

It’s Yaoi time!!!

The few days passed quickly and Friday finally came. Just as promised, Jason waited by the exit of the university. Leaning against the wall, the man had his phone out, casually swiping through the news. From time to time, he raised his head up, glancing around to make sure he hadn't missed Micah. A few times he noticed people staring at him, but they didn't matter much. There seemed to be a girl that tried to get closer to him, but she was ignored.

The clock of his phone changed minutes again and Jason found annoyance rising. Micah was late and it was damn cold outside. He breathed out a puff of white mist, reaching up to fix his beanie. He disliked it when people made him wait. He was never late, it didn't matter whether where he needed to be was important or not. His lips parted with a quiet sigh as he pushed both of his hands into the big pockets of his coat. Why didn't he bring gloves?

Oh-dear-oh-dear-oh-dear… Micah’s pulse skyrocketed as he darted through the packed hallway, “-Sorry-coming thru-‘cuse me-pardon me-“ He thrust a hand through the crowd while the other tugged away at his adamant tie. Please tell me he forgot about it or something…

His uniform was drenched in sweat, his collars upturned and sleeves undone. Can't go like this-have to change. Micah ducked behind his locker door and hastily switched to a grey turtleneck. He grabbed his black jacket and dashed outside the gates into the cold outdoors.

For a second he stood on the spot, holding his jacket in his folded arm, whirling his head around frantically and ruffling his hair rather idiotically, till at last he spotted Jason. Oh shit, he remembered. He jogged in his direction, panting and heaving. He slowed down as he approached the man, already crying out his apology, “-Oh man, I am SO sorry-“ he began. He paused only to take a breath, his fingers were pressing beside his eye sockets, as though he were saying ’Please don’t be mad’. “I’m SO sorry,” he repeated, this time shaking his head and hands vigorously. What was he, an hour late?

Jason raised an eyebrow, his cheeks rosy from the cold when he heard someone jogging towards him. A sigh parted his lips again, another puff of white mist leaving his mouth. "We should've exchanged numbers, you could've warned me you'd be this late." He spoke, pursing his lips slightly as he reached out, gently fixing Micah's turtleneck. "Put on your jacket, you'll catch a cold." He added before pushing his hand back into his pocket. "And let's go, I'm freezing." With these words, he shuddered slightly, yet still waited for Micah to actually get dressed.

"You owe me a cup of tea now, you know?" He said teasingly, a small smile brightening up his face slightly. The man began walking, looking around quickly. "I hate it when it's cold." He sighed out, moving a bit closer to Micah, their arms nearly touching as they walked through the streets. Jason looked at the younger man, frowning slightly when he saw the sweat glistening on his forehead. After a moment of thinking, he reached out and pulled off his beanie. "Put this on, you'll definitely get sick if you walk around like that." He spoke, holding his beanie out for the other to take. Even though his ears were cold, he wanted to be seen as the guy Micah could rely on when he needed help...

“I’m sorrryy…”, Micah winced as Jason ‘reprimanded’ him but was quick to recover. Oh thank god, he’s not mad at me! Micah breathed a misty sigh of relief, as though a colossal weight had been lifted off his shoulders. He grinned vaguely as he slipped into his jacket and started trotting beside Jason. “Yeah, I owe you a lot man…,” Micah added absent-mindedly. Why he owed him anything at all, Micah couldn’t tell.

’It is freezing’ Micah wanted to rejoin but refrained himself. “It’s nothing much,” he shrugged like a boss, bobbing his head, “Its just a little flurry, I’m used to worse stuff,” he bragged. A sudden gust of icy wind blew over his sweat-lined forehead. The tip of his nose tingled precariously as Jason offered him the beanie. Gosh, I don’t wanna look like a delicate flower to Jason…No, I couldn’t-” he thrust his palms towards Jason dramatically, “Don't worry, I’m spectacular, really” he grinned unconvincingly, “The forces of nature cannot touch Micah Anthony!” he announced, the sheer force of the declaration prompting the sneeze out of him.

“Achooo-“

His lips curled into a sheepish grin as placed a finger under his nose, muttering, “Hehe, no srsly I'm fine…”

Jason's lips tightened slightly as he raised his eyebrows, watching as Micah refused the beanie. A quiet sigh slipped past his thin lips as the other sneezed, just proving he, in fact, needed the hat. "Don't be stupid." He muttered, moving closer to put the beanie on Micah's head. "There, now try to not get sick, okay?" The man smiled slightly, pushing his hands back into pockets. Although it hadn't snowed yet, he felt like it wouldn't be long until it happened. Still, snow or no snow, it didn't matter for him - it was still cold, and he hated it. Plus, it got dark really early, which also wasn't something he liked too much.

"Come on, let's hurry up. We're almost there." Jason said a bit louder, a small shudder running down his body as a gush of air breezed past him. He couldn't wait until it was warm again. The man quickened his steps a bit as he saw the familiar door, reaching for it with his gloved hand. He slipped inside quickly, leaving the door open for Micah to come as well. A small smile graced his features as he took in the smell of cinnamon and fresh coffee, beginning to unbutton his coat. "Well, here we are." He smiled as he turned to Micah, his glasses fogging up from the heat.

The cafe itself appeared to be very cozy. For the most part, it was dominated by brown, although there were many colorful pillows scattered across the floor and on the couches, as well as armchairs. There didn't seem to be a lot of people, but the ones there appeared to be enjoying themselves. A few of them were reading books, taken from the shelves at the corners of the room.

“Stupid? I'm not being stupid, I'm just being helpful-” Micah protested under his breath, evidently affronted by Jason’s patronising gesture. But the warm sensation of the fabric shrouding his ears was enough to shut him up. "Well okay-,” he glanced away mumbling, “I’ll wear it if it comforts you...,” his muffled words trailed off as they approached the cafe.

‘Well, here we are.’ A smile lit up Micah’s face as a blanket of warm air settled upon him. He undid his jacket and held it in his folded arm as he looked around. It was a warm and welcoming place. Just the sort of place young couples would retreat to for seclusion. There were only a few people, and most notable a gay couple. Gay, I think, cuz they’re holding hands and stuff… Micah felt a sense of longing as his gaze swept past them and finally rested on Jason. He flashed him a lopsided grin with his gaze at his feet before noiselessly handing over the beanie.

Jason watched curiously as Micah's face lit up with a smile, however he didn't miss the longing gaze either. No, the other was definitely gay... Or at least, not straight. It seemed like just seeing a gay couple was enough to make him want for it himself. He smiled slightly as he accepted the beanie and shrugged off his coat, hanging it on the rack by the entrance. "Just put yours there, too." He murmured before glancing around. Thankfully, none of his exes were here. They could make it a little bit more difficult.

"What do you want? Something warm to eat, dessert or just drink?" He asked, casually heading towards the table furthest away from the window, right by one of the bookshelves. Jason looked up at Micah and let out a smile, gently brushing his fingers over the surface of the table. "The hot chocolate here is incredible. I usually dislike sweets, but this is an exception."
