A forbidden love between two being so the oposite faith. This is the story of how their love unfolds.

Janus was a demon. Cold, unfriendly… Everything about him was unlikable from his abrupt behavior, his uncouth way of speaking, and his undaunting aura. But no one would have thought that this centuries old demon could even love another being… especially an angel.

 

At times, Janus wondered why he was involved with that angel. He cared deeply for the other… he just didn't know why he did. But that didn't quite matter. Loving someone after thousands of years of selfish living was quite the experience. But Janus found this ordeal quite enticing.

What could make a holy being so attracted to the oposite force? Delain would never have guessed that such evens could happen. It was unheard of for such a warm, caring, sweet creature to be coming together with a Demon. But he loved Janus even though he had no idea why he did." I couldn't believe it. I had fallen for this man. I can't tell anyone about this struggle." He was in such a risk to become Fallen. But he would take that risk.

Janus had spent the majority of his life alone. He enjoyed having Delain in his life. He sat down at a bus stop, watching the humans as they passed by. Janus decided that he wanted to just sit there idly because he had nothing better to do. He was actually hoping that Delain would come visit him.

 

Why did Janus just watch the humans? Because they intrigued him. They were complex creatures that Janus had only just began showing an interest in. Prior to this interest, he hated them with his gut. Delain must have caused him to be soft hearted…

"Watching them go idly by. I really do love this race." Delain couldn't really get enough of humans and how they go along with their lives. After centuries and centuries of their short existence, they made so much for themselves. They have the know how to take care of themselves. That was the most beautiful thing about it. The Angel would spend hours just sitting in once spot just to watch them go by.

 

Now he doesn't do much of that any more. The Angel had Janus now. It was a great gift to have a partner at his side. It made his immortal life a little fuller. Much better than being alone. He had more to place in his heart.

Janus hasn't seen Delain for quite some time. He looked at the night sky and sighed.

 

I want to see you, he thought to himself. I want to touch you and feel you, Delain… I miss you…

 

He always wondered why he was so connected with an angel. This feeling… it wasn't just attraction. In fact, it could have been even deeper than that. No… it was deeper. It was so unexplainable… Janus just went with his selfish desires and loved Delain. That was all he could do.

How long had the Angel gone without seeing his lover? It seemed to be sometime since the two of them had last seen each other. His skin slightly tingled at the lack of the Demon's touch. It was apparent that he wanted to see Janus again.

 

"I wonder how he's doing..?" he thought to himself.Does he miss me as much as I miss him? There's only one true way to find out."

 

Looking at his surroundings, it seemed pretty clear. No one in sight, not a soul out there. Without the slightest hesitation he spread his wings and softly swooped down towards the world below. Many might wonder why he would risk so much just to see a demon. If they asked Delain, he would have no answer for them. It was one of those actions that no one could really explain.

Days felt longer to Janus. He knew that life was no longer "his" alone. He couldn't be reckless or violent. Why? Because he held someone dear to him. Who was that someone? Of course it was Delain. Janus sighed to himself and took a cigarette out of his pocket. As much as humans annoyed him, he commended them for their creation of cigarettes. After putting it in between his lips, he rummaged through his pockets, trying to find a lighter.

 

"Crap…" he mumbled to himself.

 

A human must have seen his plight, because soon after, a man handed him a lighter.

 

"Here," he said.

 

Janus looked at the human for a moment in surprise.

Being on th surface felt so...invigorating. Delain felt fuller in his human form. He felt like the bigger set that roamed to their own pace. "Now, where would my Janus be at this time?"Looking around the rather vacant streets of the late night the Angel could see one man out. He mumbled and grunted, trying to light a cigarette. The man's appearance blurred and shifted right before him, sometimes human and other times...Demon.

 

Quickly, Delain made his way to the man and pulled out a lighter." Here." A smile spread across his soft lips at the surprise that crosses his lover's face. The Angel couldn't help but to giggle." It's me Janus. I've missed you so much."

 

Without hesitation he brought the Demon into a tight embrace, nuzzling his face into the crook of his neck.

Janus' eyes widened in surprise. The familiar voice and familiar scent of Delain caused his surprise to falter.

The usually cold demon felt unbelievably warm. Just seeing this familiar angel made Janus feel a million times better.

 

"Delain…" He said, embracing the Angel.

 

Time seemed to stop.

 

"Delain…! It's really you?"

 

He touched the Angel softly. "How have you been? I wanted to see you…"

 

Janus looked around. "No one followed you correct?"

"I'm fine." He replied softly." No one followed me. I made sure of it." Delain felt even fuller being on the arms of this demon. They hadn't seen each other in so long. The touch on he back felt so great. Even under his coat, his fingers felt maddening against his soft skin.

 

"I really missed you. Your voice,your scent, your touch, your kiss, all of it. I felt so alone being up there. It feels so good to be in your arms again."

 

A soft black started to spread across his pale cheeks. His lips hid in the dark scarf that wrapped around his neck. Delain looked up at Janus with wide eyes." I only wonder if we can spend a little time together...I really couldn't go long without you..."

Janus wrapped his arms around the other's waist, hoisting Delain up into the bench. He nudged his face against the angel's cheek.

 

"I've missed you as well, Delain… come closer." He knew that it was practically impossible to get closer, but he didn't care. He loved Delain and he couldn't get enough. The dark sky seemed to fit their mood perfectly. It wasn't uncomfortable. In fact, it was beautiful and warm. "Let's get out of this cold. Want to go to the human 's house that I am staying with?"

 

Janus slowly moved the scarf from Delain's mouth and suddenly, but softly, kisses his beloved Angel.

"I-I do..." Those were the few words that escaped his lips before they were covered by the Demon's. He kissed back softly, gently clinging on to the hair that rested on the back of Janus's head. He could feel true heat behind his beloved's lips, as if he was trying to make up for lost time. Delain did not mind this one bit.

 

"Why does something so bad have to feel so good? He makes my core burn. It burns for him."

 

After a moment the Angel had to pull back. Dark eyes hazed from their loving embrace." Before we move any farther,"He began softly." We should go to a more private place. I don't want us to be too exposed. I want to see were you have settled for the time being." Delain leaned against his lover's forehead as if he was trying to take in more heat. He truly did love this Demon. It wold be too hard to part from him.

Janus looked at Delain and gave a nod. "Of course." He stood up and took the Angel's hand. "It's not far from this area… it won't take to long."

 

As the demon led his lover along the street in silence, he thought about how much he missed this angel and how much he needed him. During their separation, Janus felt a cold feeling called loneliness. Janus hadnt felt lonely for such a long time. But now that his beloved was with him, he was fine with that. Once they finally arrived to a house in a residential neighborhood, Janus walked to the door first and opened it.

 

"I'm back," he called, beckoning Delain inside.

Delain looked around the cozy home that his lover shared and smiled. It was a little surprising that Janus would be staying with a human. The Angel knew that he did not really care for mortals. It gave him a little bit of hope that his beloved Demon was changing a little. No matter how long it took." This is really nice." He said." I'm glad to see that you're doing well for yourself Janus."

 

In his home above, Delain did not really know lonliness until he met the Demon. After that, he couldn't go long without thinking about him. He always wondered what Janus would be doing when he was not there. Would he go with other demons and go from there? He could never be sure. Either way, they were together now. The Angel did not need anything else.

 

"I'm glad that we are able to meet." He said as he stripped off his coat and scarf." This time had been a bit more tolerable with a relationship like ours,well, as long as we look human and be careful. Would be kind of funny to see all those religious nuts jaws drop when an Angel and a Demon kiss." Delain,as well as most servants of God and Lucifer always get a kick out of those who took the faith a little too far. It was something that he found truly entertaining about the human race." Ah... Beautiful..."

Janus walked further into the house and poked his head into the kitchen. In the kitchen was a human woman with long, red hair. She smiled when she saw Janus.

 

"Janus, good to see you back," she greeted him.

 

Janus gave her a nod. "Yes, same here."

 

The human looked at Delain, her eyes widened in surprise. "W-wow! He's beautiful! I'm Hannah. You are?"

 

Before the other could speak up, Janus answered, "His name is Delain. Yes, he's beautiful, but you can only admire him from afar. After all, he's mine."

 

Janus' possessiveness was a little surprising at times. He was usually seen as a calm and collected demon. To see him show such an immature side showed how much the human world had affected him.

 

Hannah smiled, giving Delain a mischievous look. "I see, hm… Well, are you hungry?"

The Angel couldn't help but to smile at the mortal woman in front of him. Such soft red hair. What a rarity in its self." Don't mind him Ms.Hannah, he just really misses me. We haven't seen each other for some time. It is a pleasure to meet you." Delain har always found Janus's possessive behavior a little cute. Only showed him how much raw emotion the cool and collected demon really held back. Well, ONE way he shows emotion.

 

"Thinking about it now, I am a little hungry. What do you have?" He couldn't really turn down such an opportunity. It was in his nature to partake.in such rare spoils. He just had to.

Janus didn't enjoy listening to his lover and Hannah speak. Yes, he knew he was being irrational. And yes, he knew he was being selfish. But why not? It was in his demonic nature. But still… as Janus watched Delain and Hannah speak, a foreign warm feeling clouded his mind. He was just happy to know that Delain seemed to be enjoying his stay, even if it hadn't even been that long.

 

Janus smiled and shook his head, his selfish emotions subsiding and being replaced with happiness.

 

Hannah looked at Janus as he smiled, a little confused. But she soon shook her head and shrugged it off and continued to answer Delain, "Oh I made chicken. I seasoned it with a lot of herbs from my garden outside. I made it because Janus said he hated the taste of chicken."

 

The smile on Janus' face faltered and he sighed. This human woman! Janus then looked at Delain and he averted his gaze. That was too embarrassing!

"Well that sounds lovely. I would love to try some." Looking over to his lover, he couldn't help but to feel a little bad for him. There was a bit of trading to the whole action. He could tell the embarrassment on his face. It was just a little fun to watch. He always seemed to be put off with him interacting with humans, or was it something else. He had to remember to ask Janus when the two of them were alone.

 

With plate right in front of him Delain started to eat. The herbs and sweet meat was a great shock to his senses. Some of the best food he had in some time." This is excellent." He said in between bites." Thank you,Ms.Hannah."

Hannah gave a proud smile. "No problem!" Then she smirked at Janus. "Someone else could enjoy it if he wasn't so picky."

 

Janus sighed. "Hannah, please stop trying to impress Delain."

 

Hannah smiled, making her own plate and sitting down in front of Delain. She studied the Angel carefully. "So what's your relationship with this mean spirited kill-joy?"

 

Janus sighed. Why was she so adamant about being so nosey and annoying?!

"We're a couple actually." The Angel couldn't help but to smile at this fact. Every time he thought about the time he and Janus had spent together made his heart swell." The two of us have been together for as long as I can remember. Due to certain circumstances with my line of work, I don't get to spend much time with him. So everytime we meet, we try to make the most of it."

 

Delain's eyes slightly dulled at the fact. Their opposit placement in the holy beings that yeh were was always just a problem for them. It would be great to be able to see Janus more often, but it just couldn't be done." I really do want to see him more, to live with him, but I can't pull through. It pains me to say it."

When Delain answered Hannah's question, Janus could see the flash of emotions in his lover's eyes. That fact… it made him so sad.

 

"That is so sad!" Hannah exclaimed. "What about you, Janus? How do you feel about it?"

 

Janus looked at Delain, then back to Hannah. "I… I wouldn't know what to do if I'd never met him. So I'm happy that I get to see him even if it's for a few minutes… but I miss him every time we are a part. I can't… I can't bear to part with Delain. I need him at times, even when he's not near… but at least I know that I'll be able to see him. In all, I hate this… but there's no helping it."

 

And he had given up long ago. To Janus, Delain didn't want to become a fallen angel. So he couldn't just abandon his life and job as an angel. It was almost inpossible. And the union of an angel and demon was clearly taboo. Even humans could tell you that.

"Such beautiful words dear." The Angel said with a sniff." I love you too."

 

Once he was done with his food, Delain pushed his plate away and started to stand." I must thank you again for the meal Ms.Hannah. It has been awhile since I've had a home cooked meal. If you don't mind, I would like to have a little bit of alone time with Janus."

 

If the risk of being Fallen was t enough to limit their time, then Delain's own work would be an even bigger factor. It really was heartbreaking not being able to stay with the one he loved. Whatever time they had together had to be counted. It always was herd to go without Janua for long periods of time. Almost shattering. Once they were out of ear shot the Angel leaned against his lover." I'm so sorry." He whispered." I really didn't want to say that much..."

Hannah gave an understanding nod. "Please take your time, you two."

 

When Delain apologized to Janus, the demon shook his head. "Please don't apologize, Delain. I spoke because I wanted to. If I didn't want to speak then j woukdnt have said anything." He pulled Delain close, feeling the warmth of the other.

 

This was so comforting and so peaceful. Janus would kill to get more time with Delain like this. He just couldn't.

He tilted Delain's chin up and planted a kiss on his soft lips and held his lover tight. When he pulled away, he said, "I feel like I will go mad at this rate…"

"Mm, it's getting harder for me as well. My heart always comes to tell me that I can't go long without you." Delain replied as the pair parted. Even after all the time they have spent together, he could never get over the sweet embrace that the demon gave him. It always made his skin crawl with passion each time they touched. The first time they had made love was something te Angel would never forget. After they had finished the two of them would lay, Janus stroking at his bare back while whispering in his ear.

 

"I love you, my beloved Angel.Never forget that I would do anything for you."

 

It was the first time Delain had ever felt that true affection. He wanted to show that feeling the most that he could. At any time that he could." Janus," he whispered softly." I-I was wondering...If we can make love." Delain looked up, as if he was pleading to touch once more." I want to feel you again... It's been so long. I don't know how long I can last."
