Plot: a family adopts a black groenendaal named Kuro, who can actually shapeshift to look like a human. The family has a black cat, who can also shapeshift. Kuro hated cats. But as time went by, the rivalry between the two turned into something much more...

Kuro padded softly across the soft carpet as he began to examine his surroundings. He took in every foreign smell and memorized it. There was only one unmistakable smell that drifted in the air-the smell of cat. There was a cat here. And the discovery wasn't pleasant for Kuro, but he'd have to cope with it if he wanted to stay here. He dis-liked cats with a burning passion. They were snooty and snobby and had no respect for the well-being for their master's newborns. Oh and how irritating they were. Kuro never came across a cat that didn't have the dying urge to provoke him.

 

Kuro continued his exploration, marking HIS scent whenever he went. Behind him followed his Master's toddler, giggling as she ran her hands along his back. Kuro didn't mind, in fact, he loved baby masters. Baby masters were adorable and down right fun. The greatest part about them was that they needed protection and he was the protector.

Adrian was under the bed sleeping and purrs softly, stretching out his arms and legs, opening his eyes slowly and rolls onto his back, rubbing his paw against his face. He slowly picks himself up and stretches his back, starting to clean himself off. As he was getting out from under the bed, stretching out his legs, Adrian then jumps on the bed and jumps near the window to watch the birds and squirrels that happen to stop by the window.

 

Adrian perks his ears up as he saw a squirrel look at him with no fear, slowly approaching the window. He places his paw on the window and wags his tail side to side. He watches the squirrel run away and he continues to look out the window, swaying his tail back and forth.

Kuro paused at a door, opened wide to reveal a small black ball of fur on the windowsill. It was cat-a small one. The scent of it was strong here in this room and Kuro took it upon himself to mark this room as his ultimate territory. A low growl arose from his throat and his lunged himself to where the cat sat, looking out the window. "Get lost, cat! I need this room for exploration!," he barked in attempt to intimidate the cat. He even jumped at the cat just for the pleasure of it.

 

"Kuro!!"

 

Kuro froze immediately. The male master towered above him, eyes piercing his. If Kuro had the guts, he'd nip at the male master and tell him to back off, but he didn't. It took about 5 minutes for Kuro to submit and leave the room. Exploration and the cat would have to wait..

Adrian swishes his tail as he watches the birds fly around outside. His ears slowly perk up, hearing a growl from behind him and jumps when he suddenly saw the adopted dog his master got. He narrows his eyes and turns his head to face away from the dog, starting to growl softly and his tail starts to puff out. Adrian lowers his ears as he was getting jumped at and looks towards the doorway, seeing the male master and watches the dog walk away.

 

Adrian stretches out and jumps out of the window, sitting in front of his master and looks at him slightly with a "why did you have to get a dog" look in his eyes.

The male master, Rodney, looked down at his small black cat whom gave him a look of question. All he could do was smile and pick up Adrian, cooing him and stroking his chin. Rodney felt that sooner or later, Kuro and Adrian would learn to coexist, for they had no saying in the matter.

 

Kuro continued his exploration to the outside. The grass was a beautiful green and white flowers decorated it. Oh, he was going to have fun later. He was sniffing along the fence when his nose picked up a scent of another dog. His eyes met those of a Tibetan mastiff, who growled viciously at him. Kuro snarled in return," some neighbor you are!" The bigger dog snapped its jaws and slammed itself against the fence, nearly breaking it. It's finally stopped its assault when it was called by it's baby master and trotted over to the youngster to return inside the house. " Crazy douche-bag," Kuro backed away from the nearly shattered fence.

Adrian looks at Rodney, lowering his ears a little and starts to purr when his chin was getting stroked. Swishing his tail side to side, still slightly puffed from before, he then jumps down and starts licking his tail, walking out of the bedroom.

 

He perks his ears up and runs towards the door, watching the dog bark at another dog and sighs, ~why must dogs be so noisy,~ he thought as he walks over to the living room and hides under the couch, curling up. Adrian slowly perks his head up, hearing the barks stop and he lowers his head onto his tail.

Kuro finnally had some sort of good feel for his new home. He had everything. A cat, Two masters, a baby master, even a crazy neighbor. All he needed was toys. His wasn't complete with out toys. Kuro like the ones that squeaked whenever he bit them. It was like the squeak of a dying rabbit or duck in between the crushing pressure of his jaws. Kuro also enjoyed soccer balls and was an expert at nawing away at them, leaving the poor toys in an unusable state.

 

Kuro came inside, laying beside one of the couches. Tommorow he'd have all the toys he wanted, even his own bed..

Adrian purrs softly as he was taking a little bit of a nap for a few minutes, until he noticed one of his catnip mouses were under the couch. He starts to paw at it a few times before taking it in his mouth and tosses it within under the couch chasing it for a few minutes.

 

Adrian looks over to the side, seeing the dog once again and picks up his cat nip mouse, walking into the kitchen to play more with his toy.

The next day seemed to come quick. Kuro had woken early, starting his day with body stretches and a patrol around his territory. The baby master was up to give kuro plenty of attention. She even let him outside. Kuro sniffed around the backyard for any trace of intruders until he reached the fence that separated his territory from the crazy neighbor's territory. As if cued, the brazen dog approached the fence, snarling.

 

"Dude. You're snarling for no damn reason. Ew, are you drooling? You must have rabies, man," kuro received yet another snarl from the bigger dog. Kuro snarled back. The dog began to slam itself against the fence, tearing at the wooden barrier. It was a matter of time when the dog tore itself through and pounced at kuro, it's jaws latching onto his neck. In defense, kuro sank his teeth into his attacker's leg, being able to taste the blood. The bigger dog moved back after receiving his wound, giving kuro the opportunity to attack.

 

Kuro went for the neck next, rapidly swinging his head from side to side as the other yelped in pain. Kuro tugged his attacker to the ground, continuing to tear at the other's flesh.

Adrian stretches out his arms and flexes his paws with a yawn, opening his eyes and licks his paws, rubbing his paws against his face with a purr. He goes into his master's room and lowers his ears as he walks out into the living room and plays with his toy for a few minutes, chasing it around the room as his other master let the dog out and hides under the couch until the dog was gone, coming back out to continue playing with his toy.

 

His ears perk up as he heard a big commotion going on and widens his eyes, running into the bedroom and jumps on the bed, pawing at Rodney with a meow, trying to wake him up so he could see what was going on outside.

Rodney awoke to a soft pawing on his face. He looked up at Adrian and the sound of snarling and yelps of pain could be heard. Immediately he jumped out of bed to investigate. Much to his dismay, he found kuro and the neighbor's Tibetan mastiff: kuro had the larger dog down in submission with his snout bloodied.

 

Rodney grabs the nearby broom and whacks Kuro hard in the nose. Kuro yelped and drew back and his victim limped back to his side of the fence.

Adrian watches Rodney get off the bed and curls up on the bed so he didn't get bit by the other dog, hiding under the blanket so he didn't here all the noises going on outside with his ears lowered, never enjoyed hearing loud noises.

 

Adrian perks his ears up and gets off the bed, running to the living room and lowers his ears, ~I didn't want the dog to get hurt.. I just wanted the fight to break up,~ he jumps up on the couch and curls up.

Kuro was dragged in by the scruff of his neck and thrown into his kennel. He felt no guilt at all. He felt rather proud of himself. He basically handed that crazy bastard his ass. But seeing how the male master was so upset, he'd have to be more careful next time.

Adrian slowly walks towards the kennel and looks at the dog, tilting his head as he watches his master walk away annoyed like. He slowly looks back at the dog and remembered how territorial he as, starting to walk away and lays on the couch.

Shifting was eat for Kuro--it always was. Whenever he wanted, he take the form of a master. Master form had its perks though, for he has white fur instead of black and his tail and ears stood out. Today was a new day and Kuro was happy. The male master had let him out of that dreaded cage and allowed him to roam his territory freely, except for the backyard.

 

The male master made a point with Kuro yesterday: "not to fight with the other dogs". He also proved to Kuro that he was the alpha of the pack and his commands will be yeilded to. Kuro had a fit when he was scolded, talking back to his master in a series of growls and whimpers.

 

Kuro watched as his masters left the front door, locking behind him. Now Kuro felt at ease to change freely without being caught. And he did so. The change wasn't painful, it sent tingles throughout his body. It was quick too, lasting only a minute.

Adrian was curled up on the bed, purring softly and swishes his tail side to side as he was sleeping briefly. He perks his ears up as he could now hear the dog move out of the cage, curling up and goes back asleep.

 

Adrian perks up his ears, hearing the door close and listens to the masters outside. As he was sleeping on the bed, hiding under the blanket, a little shine appeared and Adrian's new form with his arm peeking out from under the blanket. Adrian slowly pulls the blanket down and stretches his arms over his head, yawning and turns on his side.

Kuro checked the window, watching his masters leave the drive way. Once the disappeared from sight, Kuro went on rampage. He jumps on the couch and slides across counters. He opens the refrigerator and snacks on whatever he could find, except for chocolate. By the time he was tired out, the house was a wreck. The fluff from the couch piled like snow and food was scattered about the floor.

 

Kuro nodde in approval. This house was a master piece--it was his domain. Kuro movs to the rooms next, ready to tear apart what he could find.

Adrian jolts up from the bed and could hear alot of noise going outside the door. He groans softly and pulls the blanket over his face, trying to sleep but was startled once again. He gets off the bed, looking at the mirror and notices he was naked after transforming to his human form. Adrian blushes and puts on a robe on and walks out to the other room, looking at the big mess outside the bedroom. He sigh and looks around for the new dog, "hey what are you doing, our master is going to be mad at you."

Kuro stops what he's doing looks over at what was another person. Kuro sniffed abit, smelling the familiar scent of cat. Kuro went wide eyed," is that you, cat?!" Kuro couldn't believe it. The cat was just like him!

Adrian crosses his arms and blinks a couple of times, "wait.. so you turn into a human too? Why are you acting so surprise," he shakes his head with a sigh as he rubs his head a little, making his ears pop out, "yes I am the cat..."

Kurosawa was fairly surprised. It was very rare for there to being shifters who are cats, actually this was the first time he's seen one. Kuro formed some respect for the feline, " well this was unexpected."

Adrian looks at the dog and looks to the side while pouting, looking to the side, "why are you looking at me like that... is this your first time meeting a cat that can turn into a human?" He sits on the couch and rests his head on his palm, yawning softly and rubs his newly form hands on his face, still cleaning his face like a cat would.

Kuro sits on the floor, watching aridan's every move," it is actually. I never knew your kind can be shifters." Kuro began to pace about the living room ." How is it that you can do that?!," Kuro growls menacingly, " shifting is only known amoungst the canines!"
