Zombie_In_A_Box
Logan blinked a few times, obvious confusion on his face. "Uh... What?" He raised his eyebrows before realizing Kerry must've noticed his disappointment about the other's low tolerance for spice. He chuckled nervously, looking away as his cheeks tainted a soft red. "It's nothing, really. There's nothing you should be sorry for! I just.. I love spicy things." He admitted with a quiet chuckle, nervously scratching the side of his head. This was embarrassing, to say the least.
BlaqueCatt
The brunette blinked, taking a moment to process what he had been told. Then he let out a soft chuckle, all of the tension draining from his body as relief washed over him. "You should have said something!" he exclaimed, the smile reappearing on his pale face. "I don't mind having spicy foods sometimes, especially if you like them so much. I just can't have it every day, or it'll make me sick." He ran his fingers through his hair awkwardly, and there were a few seconds of silence. "Well, anyway, I'll be home early tomorrow, so maybe we could do something? To, uh...get to know each other?" And to take your mind off of what happened.
Zombie_In_A_Box
"Really? Great!" Logan exclaimed happily, a smile gracing his features. The man clung desperately to things that made him feel at least a little bit joy. He didn't want to appear upset, at least not when other people could see him. After hearing the suggestion, Logan smiled again, nodding. "Sure, what do you have in mind?" He asked, his eyebrows raising slightly before he rubbed at his eye slightly. They hurt a bit from crying. "I'll try to start searching for a job tomorrow, definitely." He thought to himself, though he wasn't sure why. Perhaps it was to reassure himself once more, or to keep himself alive. BlaqueCatt
Kerry bit his lip in consideration, his eyebrows furrowed slightly as he wracked his brain for ideas. After a few moments, he replied, "I spend most of my time at work and at home, so my co-workers usually have to drag me out to places." Again, his pale cheeks flushed a soft pink color. "They've taken me out a few times, to the mall and the movies and some restaurants, maybe a bar or two. Do any of those sound good?" He didn't know much about 'going out on the town', as his friends put it; a perfect night to him was watching movies at home with a few other people and then reading before bed. He wanted Logan to feel comfortable while living with him, but he worried that staying inside would make the younger man more self-conscious. Zombie_In_A_Box
Logan waited patiently, a smile gracing his features as he saw Kerry blush. "Um... I guess a bar would be nice." He admitted quietly. Honestly, he wanted to drown his sorrow in something, and alcohol may have been the thing. If it was just one night, it probably wouldn't hurt, right? "Wait, do you have work the day after tomorrow?" He asked, blinking a few times. He wouldn't want to keep Kerry out for too long, and he himself probably wouldn't find the way back later on. Plus, the streets were pretty dangerous at night. Walking alone wasn't safe, for him or for Kerry. Especially if he was drunk... Which was bound to happen, as he had quite a low tolerance for alcohol. That was the main reason he usually didn't like drinking. Then again, he usually didn't have suicidal thoughts, either. BlaqueCatt
The brunette turned away from Logan, shifting onto his knees and twisting in his seat so he could glance at the calendar that resided on the wall behind the couch. Tomorrow is Thursday... "I have the afternoon shift on Fridays, which starts at twelve o'clock and runs until four o'clock. I should have enough time." He settled back into a comfortable position on the couch, studying the younger man for a moment. The blonde was standing in the middle of the room rather awkwardly, and it seemed as if he were out of place. Kerry knew that they were only friends, maybe only acquaintances in Logan's eyes, and that it would be some time before the ex-college student trusted Kerry enough to talk to him about how he was feeling. Being intrusive would only make the problem worse, but Kerry could sense Logan's discontent, could feel it himself - though on a lesser scale - and the knowledge that he was unable to do anything to help nagged at him incessantly. Kerry hesitated, then asked, with a small smile on his face, "Would you like to get some sleep? I can pull out the couch for you. Or you could look around the apartment, or watch something with me, or whatever." The young man had always been shy and a little socially awkward, though he had gotten better as he grew older. He was normally calm around strangers, but around friends and those he really wanted to get along with, he was easily flustered.
Zombie_In_A_Box
Logan smiled, a bit shyly, nodding slightly. "I mean... If it's better for you on some other day, I really don't mind." He added softly, lightly messing up his hair. The man not just looked out of place, he felt like that too. He brushed his fingers underneath his eyes as the fear of life itself flooded over him again. If people learned about him being expelled from college, there was a chance he wouldn't be able to find a job - or so he thought, at least. "Oh, just show me where the sheets are, I'll do it myself. You can do whatever you need... Or want, I really don't want to bother you!" Logan said quickly, eyes a bit wider. "I mean... I don't really feel like sleeping yet, so if you don't mind... I would like to watch something with you." He added, a smile tugging at his lips. He didn't want to sleep, mostly because he was scared of what he could dream about. He'd had nightmares each night after the expulsion, so sleep wasn't something he looked forward to anymore.
