This story begins with heartbreak, when love is taken advantage of. Then becomes betrayal, when self defense and justice destroy a man's way of life. And finally continues on to possibly become resolution.

Hiroto Takahashi

Likes:

Love, Charity, Food, and Honesty

Dislikes:

Causing pain in the innocent or ones he loves, Mindless action, Breaking his promises, and Betrayal.

Personality:

Walking around with a heavy conscious and a chip on his shoulder, Hiroto is honest and down to earth. He finds himself often donating to charity, or helping strangers- he's really too trusting. However, the chip that sits idly on this blonde's shoulder is from a sin- a choice he made many years ago that haunts him every day and night of his life. Because of this choice, the young man swore he'd never hurt a person he cared for again, and he'd never betray anyone even if his life depended on it.

History:

Born into a wealthy, yet interesting family, Hiroto didn't seem to share the same urge his family did about the family business. What was the business, you may ask? His family consisted of blue bloods- and their goal was to shut down all the gangs in the local area, in hopes of keeping crime down. Many, many years ago, Hiroto had a childhood friend- he was his best friend. One day the other boy convinced him that he was in love with the blonde. In secret, Hiroto had these sorta of feelings for his dear friend. One thing lead to another and later that night, they both lost their virginity to one another. Promptly, the other boy denied that he ever had feelings for Hiroto and left him, saying," I hate you, and never want to see you again." Heart broken, the man vowed he'd never hurt anyone he loved. Later on in his life, Hiroto was a rookie in the local police department, and they had him on a run he shouldn't have been on with his father. They both got a hit about a local gang about to do an arms deal and rushed over. Before the boy could react and backup could arrive, the gang's boss was shot to death, and his father the same. Blood across his face, and a hot gun in his hands, the rookie had killed his first criminal. Tears fell over his cheeks as his saw his father bleeding, and had realized that the older man he had shot and killed was in fact his old lover's father. It took years for the young blonde to hurdle the emotional turmoil. Now he's back on the force as a detective and ready to save the city. Maybe even find his one and only love, but who knows? I'm sure lady time does.

Byword:

"Lady time knows my secrets."

My hands won't stop shaking... An ice cold gun appears in the blondes hands, No... Please- not this dream again... The darkness surrounding him becoming a warehouse, the outside lit by red and blue lights, accented by the city's neons. As his breath became shallow, the sound of a bullet shot through the air, Oh god! Blood splattering back on him, covering him from head to toe. Those shallow breaths becoming panting," D-dad?" He asked as he looked down at the bloody man in blue clothing, dying at his feet. "See what you did son? You did a bad thing..." "No! It wasn't my fault! I had to shoot him!" A familiar voice suddenly spoke from behind," No you didn't, Hiroto" Spinning around, the blonde felt a gunshot go through his chest and echo around him," I'm sorry, Mikazuki-kun..." Smirking, the dark haired boy replied," I'm not."

Jolting awake from his sleep, the blonde panted as sweat beaded on his face. He ran a hand through his hair as he tried to stead his breath. That dream... Again? Maybe I'm not ready to comeback yet. Pulling the covers off of himself, Hiroto stood and made his way to the bathroom where he'd shower and get ready for work. Before long he was in the kitchen of his modern loft, mostly colored in blacks, grays, and some accented whites. Sipping morning coffee, the newest detective to the TPD couldn't help but look back on his beloved friend, curious about where lady time had left him- what he was doing at this exact moment. "He's probably still asleep if he's anything like he was, he used to hate the sun..." Hiroto often looked back and pondered o his lost friend, curiosity killed the cat they say...

Mikazuki Miki

Likes:

Power, Money, Sex, and Cigarettes

Dislikes:

Any talk about Trust, Loyalty and Love

Personality:

Often called self-centered, arrogant prick. Miki usually use backhanded compliments as insults. He is a master at maintaining calm and feigning shock when others blow up in anger. He enjoys having the last word. When questioned about his feelings, he immediately shut down any emotionally honest communication. He keeps his heart tightly locked and never really trust others.

History:

Mikazuki Miki was actually a young boss of a gang. Unfortunately, the group was swallowed and disbanded after a trusted confidant of his father betrayed them. He wanted to seek revenge for the death of his family. He changed his name and hid his past. And he was ready to use any means necessary to achieve his goal. He would step on anyone if it could take him closer to his enemies.

Byword:

"I couldn't care less."

Arching his back, his fingers gripped the sheets beneath him while his head thrashed back and forth on the pillow. Sweat covered his lover’s nude body, making his skin glisten in the soft flickering of the candlelight. Ryuu looked over his shoulder, and yanked the man closer. They kissed as his body yearned for more. Before he started to speak however, a shadow of his father stood beside his bed. "To my murderer?" He shouted with his eyes flashing with hatred and accusation. He saw his father's clothes were soaked with his own blood. His mother stood by his father. She was crying with tears of blood. "Ryuu, my son." Her voice pained and anguished. He jerked away from his lover. No. He was the enemy. He saw the hands of the man holding him just a minute ago stained with blood. Then, he was suddenly alone in a dark long tunnel. He kept running away from something. He didn't know what was chasing him but he knew he couldn't be caught.

Beep-Beep-Beep

Jerking upright in bed, Miki woke up in the sounds of his phone. His heart was beating fast and he struggled to catch his breath. "Morning." He looked at his left and saw a woman whose name he couldn't remember, smiling at him and pressing her body against his skin. "You can take a shower before you go." He opened his drawer and lit his cigarette completely dismissing the woman's flirting. "Heartless prick." He stood up to take the call as the woman rushed to take a shower after throwing a pillow at him which he easily dodged.

"Ahh..." Sweat drips slowly down his temple, as pants fill the immediate air surrounding him. "Ahhnn- Ah! Ngh." Those amber eyes almost squeezed shut, trying to feel everything. "Ryuu..." Whispers the blonde softly as he moved over the man...

The traffic couldn't move fast enough, he thought as he tapped his fingers melodically across the steering wheel. What-a-day he chose to come back, a day full of random mid-day traffic, and every light in the district turning red. Finally sighing, Hiroto stared out the window, just gazing at nothing. I wonder if I'll be late- I really thought I had left early enough. I guess I was wrong. His mind begin to wonder to all the times he was late to something, and he could only think of his first love- his closest friend... BEEP, BEEP Honked the vehicle from behind as he jolted out of the day dream and began down the blackened road. The Lady of Time was certainly unforgiving...

Before long, Hiroto pulled into the parking garage, his ID number tag just above his head on the windshield. Crawling out, the man shut the door, taking in a deep breath. It had been at least eight whole years since he last stepped on this concrete... Eight long, agonizing years... But that was in his past, and has long since been over. Walking into the station, Hiroto couldn't help but be floored at how different and new the precinct looked, he could barely recognize the place. Almost instantly a friendly voice cut through the nostalgia, and it was none other than the chief of police. "Hiroto Takahashi- It's fantastic to have you back, son." The chief was an older man, late fifties, maybe early sixties. Some said he should retire, but he just turned the other cheek. "Chief Daitsuno, it's been too long..." He said charmingly, shaking his boss's hand. Maybe this won't be so bad after all...

Miki knew he was being rude and the outburst of the woman was understandable but he couldn't care less. He maintained his calm before his expression darkened as he heard his assignment. "Understood!" He answered before he was cut off, nearly throwing his phone in irritation. He had to clean up a mess. The man was working him hard and it was driving him mad. "Sh*t. So useless." He exhaled white clouds of smoke, his brows in a single line. He collected his clothes and rummaged the pockets for a normal-looking white card. He tossed a wad of cash on the bed before he swiped the card in the handle and stepped inside the cabinet. Inside was a hallway to his real residence. He had a quick shower and walked out in a nice clean suit. He opened a compartment and kept his partners in the back of his waistband and at his chest. He never left for an assignment not fully strapped. He wasn't surprised to see the chaos in the deserted outroom. The woman did a good job flipping and trashing everything in it. Without a second look, he walked out of his unit and stepped into the ride waiting for him.

A black SUV pulled over the side of an abandoned factory. A man in a suit stepped out and walked inside following the subordinates who greeted him and escorted the man inside. The men inside straightened their backs at the sight of the new comer. Their encirclement broke and one side parted immediately. The tension was almost suffocating. The man let his escort lit his cigarette. "So, who's going first?" Cold voice and sharp look focused on the group of men kneeling and bleeding on the floor.

  • 2 weeks later...

"Omph- Hah" Hiroto let out as the chief of police gave him a hard smack on the back," Ah! My boy, many things have changed since you were last here, not mention that pretty little officer that was to be your partner is all grown up now!" With suddenly wide eyes, the blonde looked to his boss," Y-you mean S-Sumi-" "Sumiko Hamasaki, don't tell me you for my name already?" A sharply feminine voice pierced Hiroto's ears as his eyes met the smirking gaze of a younger woman. "I could never forget your name, Sumiko..." He said with a disinterested expression, and a even less than statement to follow," You'd never let me." Laughing abrasively, the brown-haired voluptuous babe walked over swiftly and pulled the taller man into a tight hug, almost refusing to let go as he tried to pull away from her. "Uh- A-are you sure there isn't any other person on the force who needs a partner?-" He asks begging towards the boss, "Nope, just you and me!" Spoke Sumiko. " Sumiko can't seem to keep a partner, they keep transferring or end up injured in an police event," reasoned the older police man. "I wonder why..." Mumbled the blonde under his breath as he turn his head away. "So, what is our first duty, chief?" Asked Hiroto reluctantly.

There were a group of seven men who were caught dropping ashes on the business. The organization was on edge with the constant raids that had been knocking on their doors. These seven were just lizard tails but any "kind" methods that were employed produced little to no help. Thus, here he was-tasked to dispose some trashes. "You'll be pissing on your royal pants soon enough. hahahaHAHA..urf" The captured man in his late thirties said defiantly but ended up licking the floor after a severe thrashing from the surrounding boys. He seemed to be the little group's leader judging by the cocky attitude and irritating voice. He puffed out smoke looking down at the man who just spoke and beaten yet grinning silly. Veins popped on the boys head. You could see them releasing their irritation by kicking the other six who seemed odd having smug expressions on their swelling faces."For a dying man, you have some guts." He expressionlessly said. But deep down, he was nervous. 'Something's wrong. If it was just dealing with these seven, why was he even have to come down here. The boys can easily deal with these pests.' His instinct was to get out of here. Living this life, he had learned to trust his insight which had saved his life in more than one occasion. He had orders though. Squeeze them for the last time before dispatching them. "Start this little party." He hissed lowly before pointing the gun to the youngest of them and pulling the trigger. Soundless gunshot was followed by the blond man's body falling limply and lifeless.

"Ah!" Yelped the blonde as he gripped his head, a headache was coming on cause Sumiko had been yammering for the past hour. I don't see why the boss paired me with this lunatic. The woman never stopped... Ever. Just asking about mindlessly dull things, like ; Hows life? What have you been up too? How have you been? Seriously, just shut up. Growling to himself, Hiroto's lips curved into a bored and irritated expression. What was the goal for today again? Oh, yeah. Listen to the radio for a hit or something. Sumiko's high pitched voice pierced the blonde's ears, forcefully, for about an hour or so before the radio suddenly began spewing out codes. "We have a possible shooting and 10-66 at 6th and Yuritaka road, all available units in the area please report-" Instantly picking up the radio, Hiroto tries to snipe the seemingly easy assignment. "This is unit 314, we are in the area and can assess. 10-4." "Copy that 314, you're go." Finally, geez. "Yay a mission!" Sumiko yelps as she jumps up and down in her seat.

There were so many things he abandoned for the sake of achieving his goal. For survival.. For gaining trust.. For a higher position.. He had long forgotten the times where he would be shivering at the thought of killing someone. He had hardened his heart to the point of numbness. He understood what he need to do and how to do it. The first thing he discarded was his conscience. It was hard at first. Back then, he knew revenge wasn't easy or just dipping your toes into the water. It would cause ripples no matter how silently you tiptoe. Then, the rest was just going with the flow as he started drowning. It was then, he let his heart go. He watched it sinking further and further with no other choice but to drift away... to go down at the bottom. Saving it? Useless thought!! It wasn't because he couldn't but he just wouldn't.

Killing one or two left him unfazed. He ordered the boys to start the last round of "questioning". But the remaining six were tough. They knew they were done for and refused to move their tongue. But he just watched coldly and unaffected.

Taking a deep breath, Hiroto felt the adrenaline begin to pump through his veins, just like it once did many years before. Exhaling, those dark eyes seemed different, the kindness pour from them- he was officially in "cop" mode. Smirking as he placed the communicator where it belonged, he couldn't help but feel a since of relief; Maybe my life can go back normal. Flicking the lights on, the blonde turned the sirens on as well, cause showing up late to a crime was no good in his book. Putting the vehicle's petal to the metal, Hiroto took off, cars and trucks frantically trying to move out of the policeman's way as he swerved in and out of traffic. "WHOA! HIROTO-SAN, SLOW DOWN!" Cried out his partner," No way! This is the best part!" He said grinning furiously at her uneasiness, Whatta wimp.

"Dispach, this is 314, we're current in transit to reported location. We'll be there in 2 minutes, please standby for more info." "10-4, 314- be careful." Beginning to slow down to a "safer" speed, the man flicked the lights and sirens off. He liked to pretend he was a ninja. Parking just on the corner of the dark, and gloomy corner street, the blonde looked to his counter part. "Call for back up if you hear anything, kay?" The dark haired girl furrowed her brow," No way, you're going alone Mr.! Bosses order's!" She exclaimed as she crawled out of the vehicle grinning from ear to ear. Rolling his eyes, the man growled," FINE. Just- be quiet okay?" "I'm not stupid," Sumiko huffs out softly. Are you sure..? "What?" "Nothing!" Oops, must have said that out loud.

As the two officers made there way down a long alley, the man took note of a black SUV, like the one described in the code. Signalling the woman to stay put, Hiroto pulled out his handgun, and steadily began to maneuver towards the vehicle. The setting was looming and seemingly ideal for a mob or gang related meeting, and this was unsettling for the man. "This is Detective Takahashi, I'm at 6th and Yuritaka, I'm requesting back up for what maybe a gang related event. Please report." "10-4, Takahashi, all available units have been dispatched- standby." Inching towards the vehicle, he took notice of the huge, old warehouse it seemed to guard. Hmm... Now ducking, Hiroto ran for the black vehicle, his back against it's flat gloss paint. With his back now against the vehicle, he spun and stood at the driver side window, gun pointing at- well, nothing- but what could have been a person. Crouching back down against he SUV, he crawled along side it, peering over the front bumper. Maybe I can get a view of what's happening inside the warehouse. The front door was cracked, maybe... Just maybe... The man squinted," What is going on...?" Hiroto whispered to himself.

Even though Miki wasn't a high valued member as he wanted, he achieved quite a lot in the past two years. He didn't need to do these works with newbies. But it's not like he could say anything to that ugly bastard Yoon. That's why he was royally pissed. He leaned on a column as he watched in the sidelines. "tsk... There's no need to prolong this." He wasn't like the others. Though he wasn't afraid to kill, he didn't get any satisfaction in doing it either. He looked at his victim and what he saw was but a pig to be slaughtered. He gave the signal and one by one the remaining six was falling with their eyes open. He never tried to understand why some people on this business get high on killing. Some of these new boys was smiling and seemed to be enjoying the deed. But some were white as sheet and one puking his guts out at the corner. He just shook in disappointment but none of it was shown on his face.

Of course, as the leader of the little group, he was the last to be disposed. Seeing his comrades fell, changed nothing of the haughty expression of the middle age man. He really dislike that face. "Boss!" The boy who threw up tripped on his own foot in his hurry to reach him. The boy actually leaned closer to him. He would normally push him away if not with the word he whispered. "Damn!" Miki suddenly stood straight and crushed his cigarette under his boots. His eyes were lit with ferociousness and his killing intent seeped out. Some boys looked at his direction while the boy who reported to him was on his knees, shivering. "STOP." He shouted at the one who was pointing a gun to the leader. "YOU." His steps were heavy. He was so furious he lifted the leader on air choking him by the collar with one arm. *coughs* "I told *coughs* you. hehe"

His eyes squinted. That explained the smug expression of those seven and the uncomfortable feeling he had. His suspicion was more or less confirmed. "This was never cleaning a mess." He unconsciously said out loud. "gahahaha. It was. But He just forgot to mention who was to take the fall." The middle age man laughing out loud irritated him. He threw him down after slipping his free hand behind the man's right earlobe. An inverted triangle mark. "So that was it, huh?" He spotted a stack of steel and sat there. He pulled out another cigarette and lit it. He was screwed over. That Yoon set him up to take the blame. There was no use for struggle. According to the puke-boy, the building was most probably surrounded. He closed his eyes and puffed out smoke. Through the laughter ringing to his ears, he remembered the face of a certain guy.

"-Dectective Takahashi, please do not pursue the criminals in suspect. Do you copy?" Hiroto's head fell back against the SUV, he really wanted to go inside, guns blazing- in all honesty, he just wanted to see what had happened. It was strange how someone tipped them off about the whereabouts of this underground operation, it just didn't add up. You can't hear any of this from the road, and it's really far off the beaten path... "-Dectective do you copy?!" "Yeah, Yeah. 10-4 dispatch." Geez, these guys are annoying anymore. Yet, the blonde wasn't prone to listening when his senses were flying off the charts. Curiosity sometimes got the best of him. "Units will be arriving in 1 minute, please stand your ground." Eyes trained on the cracked door of the warehouse, the officer muted his radio, and began walking crouched over to the building. Standing up with his back along the metal body of the warehouse, voices of young men freaking out and some of foreboding fate echoed from inside.

Before the blonde could peer inside the place, the reinforcement had arrived. Cursing under his breath, Hiroto carefully returned to his people, only to be reprimanded for a short moment. "-Nevermind it..." Growled the sergeant low," Let's bust these low-lives" In seconds, about 25 armed officers from the TPD surround the building. All the young bloods waiting to invade the warehouse, waiting on the sergeant's command. "Go!" He lipped with no voice, throwing hand signals to the groups. In they went, the words "Freeze! Toyko Police!" echoing off each officer. Standing by the sergeant's side, Hiroto looked up to him," Isn't it strange that we got a hit like this? We don't usually get tips this good." Shrugging, the upper officer began inside the building. "Don't over think it, this is good for us."

Sighing, the blonde followed. Once inside, the man's eyes got wide, really wide. Flashes of old memories flooding back. "I hate you, Hiroto!!! "Snap out of it, Detective." Inhaling sharply at the sudden hand on his shoulder, he nodded to the officer. "Yeah- sorry. Haven't seen this much blood in a long time is all." Looking over the mess in the center of the room, his gaze skimmed across the criminals apprehended. Seems it was a gang thing- they must have been turned in by their boss, they were set up. "Takahashi!" Yelled an obnoxious female voice, that could one belong to one women he knew," Come here." Walking over hesitantly to the women, he grumbled," What is it?" Pointing at a brown haired young man, no older than his twenties, she spoke softly- carefully. "That guy, he looks familiar... doesn't he?" Looking up at the young man she pointed at, he felt as if he had seen that face once before. No, it wouldn't be. He's long gone. Shaking his head, the blonde dismissed the woman," You're just crazy, Sumiko..." "No I'm not! Hey! Hiroto! Come back!" You're really loud, shut up...

Miki removed both of his guns from his body and tossed them to the nearest boy. "You.. finish him." The boy showed a shocked expression but completed his task. He was already on the net, he knew. But he didn't even bother informing the others. The boys were newbies and the organization was more than happy to throw them to the flames if that would stop the current series of raids. He carefully removed his black gloves revealing another set of white gloves underneath. He then pulled out a metal flask from his suit. He smiled as he watched the gloves caught fire after pouring every drop from the flask. Reducing the charges was all about erasing the evidence.

After the last shot, he could hear the faint sounds of multiple footsteps. The sounds were approaching them. Sitting over the top of the piled steel, he watched the chaos ensued. He saw the terrified expression of the boys. Some started running only to be toppled and shot by some officers. Curses and angry snarls from both sides. Miki sat quietly as if watching a live show. Of course, he didn't escape the eyes of some. More men surrounded him. In their stances, he knew they were wary of him. They had their guns raised. In a third person point of view, he appeared to be the most dangerous. But the center of attention just finished his smoke not caring about his own predicament.

Miki wasn't stupid. He had kicked the burned glove under the cracked floor before everything got nasty. He didn't worry about it being discovered. None of it could be traced back to him. The boys wouldn't dare mentioned him. After he reminded them of whom to watch out for if ever they tattled. Matching it with a grave tone, who would open their mouths about him. Even if got caught, he had some ways. So, he didn't worry. Besides, this wasn't his first time. To him, laws were only as terrifying as its enforcers. In his life, he never felt the need to put laws above his eyes. It was just convenient rules for the powerful to wield against the weak. No more, no less. He sneered inwardly.

Like every bust, the criminals were apprehended pretty quick, but the investigation was never over when they left. Good thing Hiroto wasn't a rookie, or he'd be stuck cleaning up a pretty big mess. Now standing outside of the warehouse, the blonde counted the guys as they were brought out," One... Two..." He thought to himself. Until one walked by, cuffed. Maybe Sumiko was right after all- That'd be a first- maybe, the man did look familiar. The way that dark haired man held himself up and kept a dark grin on his face- Brr... A shiver ran down the detective's spine as random flashbacks came to him. "Hiroto, we want you to help question the criminals, we don't have enough man power at the moment," the sergeant said as he placed a hand on the blonde's shoulder. Being shocked back into reality let him confused. So soon? I just got back... Sumiko ran over," OH CAN I DO IT TOO?!" Rolling his eyes the sergeant agreed," Yes... But, Hiroto- Make sure she don't do anything stupid." "Awh! What?! I don't need a baby sitter!" Dark hues fell back onto the man with brown hair, that seemed so familiar, Can it really be him?

After sometime all the officers had cleared out the warehouse, the criminals were brought back to the precinct, and the detectives were preparing themselves in the viewing room of the interview corridor. Lightly tapping his lip, Hiroto paced the small room with a glass window, mirrored on the other side of course, looking over what seemed to be the small gang's leader. We got information that he went by the name Miki, but the department couldn't be sure. He... Looks so much like him... But it can't be him... Can it? The detective was waiting on the results of the finger printing to comeback, to see if they could hit a match. Groaning in agonizing boredom, Sumiko sighed," Loooook, I take it back. He doesn't look familiar- let's question him... PLEASE." "No... I have a gut feeling that he could be in the records..." Reasoned the blonde as he peered upon the young man cuffed to a steel table. "If he hasn't burnt of his finger prints already," snarled the woman softly. "Shut up, Sumiko."

As one of the officers braved to come closer, Miki flicked his cigarette and jumped down, crushing the lit stick underfoot. His lithe movement startled the officers and made them nervous. Their guns pointed at him with their fingers on the trigger, ready to shoot. He betrayed their expectation for a hot struggle and pursuit when he raised both of his hands in surrender.

He never had a thought of escaping. The idea of running away with the numbers against him was stupid. He was clearly used this time but he had fun. The useless effort to escape of the newbies was also fun to watch. With two soft clicks, cold metals was around his wrist while his rights were read. He even heard the shaky breath that the brave officer drew in. He snickered at the nervous display. Must be new. They were ushered out while some men surrounded the bodies on the floor.

The way to the precinct was uneventful. Boring. He was pushed inside the interrogation room. His eyes roamed the small, dingy room before he was shoved to sit on the chair. His gaze was clear though. Not a sign of fear or nervousness. It wasn't his first time but it had been a long time. He was careful. Always moving in a calculated move. If he had anything left to value, it was his life. Not because he wanted to live but he needed to. He had things to do, a goal to pursue. Until then, he would not breathe his last. He threw his head back and he reclined to rest his back, waiting patiently on the room, tapping lightly on the table in a rhythmic pattern.
