"I don't know... I can't remember anything about my life as a human. I could have been the worst person in the world or just someone who made a dumb mistake" Evan grumbled before taking a bite of his burger. He chewed and swallowed before speaking again. "I don't know what you like about demons, all the ones I've met are terrible."

He had only met a few other demons but all of them were complete assholes. He took a sip of his milkshake and looked up at the fallen angel. "Were you ever a human? Or is that only demons"

Gilda sighed as he listened to the other man. He then tilted his head to the side as he pushed his food around. His eyes looking over the others face. "Not all Demons are bad." He said as he chuckled.

He then looked down at his food and back up at the other as he nodded his head at the question. "I was human once." He said as he crossed his arms over the table. "It's been so long, i don't remember what it was really like." He said as he sipped his drink. "I didn't know i was going to be an angel. But my ticket to be choosen as one, was i gave up my life, to save someone else's." He said with a smile.

"You sacrificed yourself?" Evan frowned slightly. "I guess that's like a free ticket to being an angel" he took another sip of his milkshake. "Why'd you sacrifice yourself? Do you remember?" He continued to eat, trying to think of what would have made him into a demon. He didn't feel like he was the type of person to kill or rape people, but he really couldn't tell.

The man sighed and continued to eat. It was hard for him not to get lost in thought about his own past, he just wanted to know and no one would tell him.

Gilda shrugged. "I don't remember much. All I know is that I saved someone, and who that someone was. Other then that, I have no memory of my life. All I know is that in my human life..." He began the other as he picked up a piece of chicken and took a bite. "You see, I never wanted to be an Angel, I didn't know what would happen, all I knew is I had to save her." He said as he swallowed the bite of chicken.

"I didn't even believe in heaven or hell. I didn't even believe in the devil or in god." He then leaned back and sighed. "And after all the good I've done. I couldn't have my happiness." He told the other. "See, Angel's and god are not as good and nice as everyone thinks. We are just as cruel and hateful as Demons and the Devil." He said as he narrowed his eyes. "Angel's go out and mess with humans all the time. We lie to them, steal from them, sleep with them torture them."

He shrugged. "Not all Angel's do, but some. The move higher level Angels have four faces, long curved claws, huge bat like wings and razor sharp teeth. We are not all... pure white and pretty." He said as he sighed. He looked down as he messed with his thumbs. "I didn't look like this when I was an angel. I don't even really look like this as a fallen one." He said. "I still have my wings, they are just tattered and broken... Many of my feathers are still white, but over the course of time, they are turning black."

"That's so strange... You're the first angel I've met and I've only met asshole demons" Evan slowly twirled the straw in his milkshake. "Although... I guess I'm not that much of an asshole and I must not be the only one" His gaze wandered to the window, thinking about this new information.

"I guess good and evil are pretty opinion based... Someone could be considered a war hero in his home town and a terrorist overseas. So who knows how it's actually decided what makes you an angel? You could have sacrificed yourself to save someone who went on to be a murderer" He shrugged and brushed his bangs over the scar on his forehead. "Sorry, I'm just thinking out loud. I guess I just think of angels and demons as absolutes somehow"

Gilda's eyes widened as he looked over the scar on the others head. He reached out so fast and pushed the hair out of the others face and stared. "This... Scar.. It's.. Not from a regular bullet... It was not man made.." He said as he stared even more. People started looking their way as Gilda slowly sat back and cleared his throat. He mind racing as he frowned. Pressing his lips together and thinking. His stare no had a far away look as he sat there, his eyes shifting colors as he thought.

A sharp pain shot throughout Evan's head, it had never hurt like this before. "Don't touch that!" he snapped, immediately slapping the fallen angel's hand away. He screwed his eyes shut and held his head in his hands, waiting for the pain to fade away. "What the fuck did you just do?" The demon gasped through the horrible pain.

It took almost a full minute for the pain to fade away, leaving Evan gasping softly as he tried to regain his composure. He shot Gilda a fierce glare and pushed his hair back over the scar.

Gilda fell back into his seat after gasping and coming back to his self. "It.. Can't be.." He whispered, tears coming to his eyes. He gathered his things as he slammed some bills on the table. "I'm sorry.. I- I have to go." He said as he dashed from the café and raced down the street.

It can't be him... He.. He didn't even know who I was! He didn't recognize me.. My true love.. If it is you... You'd remember me.. Right?" He was thinking this the whole run home. Once he reached his house he flung the door open and slammed it closed. "No.." He placed a trembling hand to his lips.

Evan scowled as the man ran off. "What was that about...?" He was tempted to follow Gilda but soon decided against it. "There's no point..." He muttered to himself, quickly standing up and making his way home. As he walked he wondered if he would bump into the fallen angel again. Maybe he would stop by the bookstore where he had said he worked. It wasn't like the demon had anything better to do with his time.

The next day he did stop by the bookstore that Gilda had mentioned. For some reason Evan had been unable to get the fallen angel out of his head. He was honestly worried about the other man, he had seemed so upset the night before.

Gilda had somehow summoned the strength to go into work the next day. He was pertending to be upbeat and happy. He went to turn and greet the newest guest as he heard the bell over the door ring. "Wel-" He paused as he stared at the other. His heart jumped as he looked down.

"Welcome." He said as he turned away. He knew the other didn't deserve this, For it was not his fault he did not remember. But it still hurt. He then turned, a smile on his face. "Sorry about last night. Just, seeing that brought back some memories of mine." He told the other as he shrugged. "But don't worry about it."

"That was cold" Evan muttered, pushing his hands into his pockets. He felt somehow drawn to the other man, as if he wanted to know more about him more. Although Gilda's bad attitude was starting to piss him off. "You freaked out yesterday so I just wanted to make sure you were okay. But I guess you're totally fine and you just hate me for some reason"

The demon scowled, he didn't like being treated like this without any reason. "I'll just leave then" He snapped, turning to leave. He didn't understand why he was so bothered by the fallen angel being slightly rude to him, it was that bad. Usually Evan would have just felt a little annoyed, but right now he was extremely pissed off.

  • 2 weeks later...

Glida felt bad after that as he rounded the desk and reached out to grab ahold of the back of the others shirt. "No! Wait.. I'm sorry. I know I haven't been the most... pleasant company and acting the way I did." He said as he let go of the others shirt before looking around as he took the others hand and led him into the back. He then looked up at the other. "It's just that.. You trigger memories for me and I don't know how, or why and it's.. scary."

He then sighed as he pinched the bridge of his nose and looked up at the other male once more. "I am sorry. I don't mean to be.. so cold or rude."

Evan frowned and turned back to the fallen angel. "What do you mean memories? You were fine until you saw my dumb scar..." He lightly touched his forehead to make sure his hair was covering the scar. "How did that make you freak out that badly? I don't get it..." He looked away again and sighed. "I thought I might have finally found someone I could talk to... It's impossible to relate to humans since I don't remember my life, and they can't relate to me because they're still alive..."

Glida sighed once more and leaned against the wall as he looked at the ground. "You are welcome to talk to me about anything. I'm sorry I freaked out on you.. It's just.. That's where.. They shot him." He said as he then sighed again and pushed his hair from his face. "I'm sorry, I wont look at it or touch it. And I wont freak out again.." He said as he offered the other male a small smile. "I really am sorry."

"That's it...? I have a scar in the same place as your old boyfriend?" Evan frowned at the idea. "I'm pretty sure that the head is a pretty common place to get shot..." He shrugged and pushed his hands into his pockets. "But if it bugs you that much then I guess there isn't a point to making you hang out around me... I'll just go find someone else to spend time with"

Glida tilted his head up and glared at the other man as he pressed his lips together. "It's not just about that, it was also the same type of bullet, which is not a human made one." He told the other as he then shrugged. "You weren't making me spend time with you. I enjoyed it." He said as he stepped up even closer to the other as his voice dropped. "Accept my apology and... Come over to my house tonight, i'll cook something." He said.

Evan raised an eyebrow at the other's words. "What? Do you think I'm your dead boyfriend?" He smiled slightly at the suggestion of dinner. "Sure, why not?" The demon pushed his hands into his pockets and glanced around the bookstore. "What time do you get off tonight? I can meet you here when you finish"

Glida glared at the other once more at the comment as he pressed his lips together, but he didn't say anything as he pushed his hand into his hair and sighed lightly. "I get off work at nine." He told the other male as he tilted his head up and looked at him once more. He then smiled as he did look at the other before turning on his heel. "I have to get back to work. I'll see you later tonight." He told the other as he waved a little and went back up toward the front.

"Yeah... I'll see you later" Evan said, ignoring the glare. He gave the angel a light wave and turned away, quickly leaving the shop. He really didn't get Gilda's behavior, it was like the man blamed Evan for something. The demon wondered if he should even bother trying to get along with the other, it didn't seem very promising. He sighed and went back to his apartment to wait for nighttime. Just before 9pm he came back to the bookstore and waited outside.

Gilda sighed once more as got back to work. He couldn't get his mind off the Demon as he worked. He kept a smile on his face as he worked and when night came, he was almost bouncing off the walls. He cleaned up as he went to the back and changed out of his work clothes and back into his street clothes. He locked up the shop as he went to wait for the other, only to find out that the Demon was already there waiting on him. He smiled a little as he came up next to the other. "Hey, sorry about that earlier." He said as he nodded. "ready?"

"Yeah, were do you want to go?" Evan reached for Gilda's hand to hold but stopped himself. He didn't know why he had done that, it just felt natural somehow. "Sorry" He muttered, pushing his hands into his pockets. "Uh, I actually don't know how many places are going to be open this late... Besides fast food places and bars..."

Glida chuckled as he placed his own hands in his own pockets. He then tilted his head up as he looked at the other. "I thought we were going back to my place and I was cooking for you." He said as he smiled a little. "Also, I have some alcohol." He said as he reached up and slid his hood over his head and his hands back into his pockets.

"Oh, right... I'm not used to anyone cooking for me unless I pay them" Evan laughed softly. It was true, he didn't have anyone who cared enough to cook him food and he himself hated cooking. The demon's apartment had a high class kitchen which had never been used for anything more than boxed mac-n-cheese. "Well, show the way"
