~*~FaLlEn*SnOw~*~
A palace of such pristine beauty, known for its' colorful gardens and almost heaven like appearance, the home to the heir of the supreme ruler of all Japan, the Emperor, 天の庭の宮殿, or Amanoniwa no Kyūden, the Palace of Heavenly Garden. Seen from a distance, it would look as if this magnificent structure was floating in the clouds, surrounded by a blanket of sweet smelling flowers. A home fit for a prince, and one of such blessed stature and persona. Living here, he had but a handful of servants and militia he could call upon, but he found no need. Shinseina, the Sacred Bird of Japan, was one of peace and solitude, preferring to keep away in his gardens, tending the beautiful plants alone, rather than deal with any person. Silence was what he enjoyed, listening to the sounds of nature, the water trickling in streams, the wind in the trees, birds singing to one another among the cherry blossom branches. Walking slowly through the flowers, a stone path at his feet and a colorful umbrella with tiny glass charms upon the rim in his hands, he was taking his daily routine, heading to the quiet spot deep within the garden, where it was almost near silent, next to no sound could be heard except for one's own thoughts, breathing and heart beat. It was a calming, yet spine tingling place, where Shinseina escaped to in order to clear his mind, and be by himself, without any single person knowing where he was. It was his hideaway, and also where his most precious and rare flowers grew. This time, he had within a rather old looking scroll, made out of rare looking fabric, that had a slight lavender tint to it, and smelled of the actual flower. In it was strange writing, similar to the characters in which he himself used, but some were different, alien in appearance. He wanted to take a look at this book alone and in silence, and had thus decided to take the scroll with him on his walk to his secret spot. That day he wore a colorful kimono, the obi almost tie die and rainbow like in appearance, as well as the geta that he wore on his feet. Reaching the spot, he sits upon a large grey boulder that had a shimenawa wrapped around its' middle. Unfurling the scroll, he begins to read, the umbrella he'd been carrying set aside on the ground, a slight breeze making the glass ornaments tinkle and jingle quietly, almost like bells. Exellda
As the prince read from the old scroll, little did he know he was reading a god's scroll. Not just any scroll... In the mystic, deep, flourished, lush forest lies a shine. Hidden from many mortals, the shine belongs to a god known as Shizen, or Shizen no Kami. He is Nature's God. All plant life blossom within his presence... Oh-- How the God of Nature blesses unfertilized soil. Nothing left unripe... The gracious god, one of pure kindness, grants life to any flower that wilts... -- ...Shizen no Kami's true form is rarely seen. Some mistake this for shyness around mortals... However, that is not so. The Nature's God changes appearances during different seasons, weather conditions, and even in sunlight. He is seen mostly in florescent violet kimonos... ...there is a saying, to have your garden blessed by the great God of Nature... To have everlasting beautiful flowers. Ones that may bloom all year... ...a sacred chant must be said... Whom ever calls out to the god shall be blessed... Bring a Precious Flower to your bosom, one that will please a god... -- Shizen no Kami... Bless the Garden Of which Flowers Bloom... Fertilize the Soil and save the wilting Plants... O God of Nature... May life grow from a Seedling and Blossom... May the Nature's God hear my call and resurrect the Flower... -- If the god hear's your words, the flower shall bloom again... However, as the prince read on, more and more words were becoming lost. Almost, seemingly and purposely smeared. As if someone didn't want the prince to read what information the scroll held. One peculiar sentence seemed to be deliberately smeared... To summon Shizen no Kami, one must say his whole name and he shall come... ~*~FaLlEn*SnOw~*~
His eyes take in the words that were written on the scroll, mesmerized by what he was reading. From what he could tell, this was some sort of inscription about calling a god to one's garden, in order to bless it. He pauses for a moment, imagining what it would be like to have a garden with never ending blossoms, never having to see the petals wilt and fall away. Closing his eyes, he could picture every single detail, every flower that grew, forever and ever. How lovely that would be, smelling the scent of the beautiful blooms all year round. Sighing, he opens his eyes again, and continues to read. But as he read on, he noticed that the words becoming smeared, at first only faintly, but then it was illegible, and he could not read anything else. One particular sentence stood out to him, one that suggested that if he said Shizen no Kami's full name, the God himself would appear before the one who spoke it, but it was so badly smudged that he could only make out a few symbols, and not the entire thing. Even so, from what he read, it seemed quite interesting, and decided it wouldn't hurt to try. What was the harm? From what the scroll had instructed, a flower, one that would please a God himself, was needed. Glancing all around him, his eyes scan each and every one of the plants that surrounded him, until spotting the perfect one. Standing from the rock, he crosses the grass, and plucks one bloom from where it was floating within a small pool of the clearest crystalline water. It had a slight scent of lavender to it, even though it was not of that species. In fact, no one knew of this particular flower, as it was not quite...normal. A rare flower, it had simply appeared before Shinseina one day within the water, and had grown in that small pool ever since. Holding it close to his chest, stroking a petal with his fingertip, he walks back to the scroll, and reads the words of the scroll as instructed. When he had finished, he places the flower upon the sacred rock on which he'd been sitting moments earlier. Silently he waits, breathing lightly and quietly, his eyes shifting back and forth, but after a moment...it seemed as nothing had happened. His shoulders slump ever so slightly, and a tiny smile appears on his lips, though his eyes shimmered with disappointment. "Of course...It was just some silly scroll..." He murmurs to himself, and turns away, picking up his umbrella and begins to walk away. However, at the entrance to the secret area, he pauses, glancing back at the rock and the flower resting on top of it, before shaking his head and continuing on his way. What had he been hoping to achieve? Why did he need the help of a god in the first place? His garden already was of such otherworldly beauty that he doubted anything else could be done to increase it's appearance. He himself didn't know that his own presence was one of the biggest factors in why it was the way it was. Heading back down the stone path after passing through the small shrine that maintained the entrance to his spot, going towards the main part of the garden, he looks up to the sky, noticing the clouds moving slowly in the azure blue. Pausing, he sits down on a bench that was set on the side of the path, resting for a small while, closing his eyes and just listening to the sounds of nature. This was the life, there was nothing he would ask for, or do, to change how he lived. No, he was blessed, and had everything he had ever wanted. Exellda
Up in the mountains and inside the mystic shrine of the God of Nature, Exellius took form. A kimono draped over him with intricate flower designs. The majority of his hair was pulled back into a long tail. As the wind blew, his hair and kimono swayed ever so slightly. His hair had a particular shine to it today. The god inhaled slowly, it had been forever since he had last been awakened into the human realm. When he looked around, it just occurred to him that there were no people there. Then who had summoned him? This was a rare case indeed. Actually, in the span of his life he had never been summoned this way before. Where was the sacred flower? Exellius stepped out of his shrine. Immediately that vines on the shrine grew, the grass below his feet turned a vibrant green, flowers started to grow and bloom... And the plants started to sway, caressed by the wind. They spoke to him, telling him where the sacred flower would be. They told him echoes of history, whispers of talk from the country side, the nearest running water... With every step he took, he created a trail of life behind him, a path that was vibrant with plant life. The plants seemed to be joyous as the god walked through the lush forest, they seemed to hum a sweet tune that resembled a lullaby. Exellius knew his journey was coming to an end when he found himself at a clearing, no, it was a pretty garden. The closer he got to the garden, the stronger the impulse was. The sacred flower was near... Somewhere is this beautiful garden. Exellius never knew humans could keep a garden so nice. For him, it was a happy sight. The plants, mostly the flowers, in turn, started to bloom around him. The garden was blooming more than ever, just from Exellius' happy presence. It was when he saw a sacred rock, he knew that the flower that rested upon its surface was his. As he approached the rock, the wind picked up just enough and the flower fell... right into Exellius' hand. What a pretty flower... Exellius thought to himself. He already knew what kind it was and he also knew that this kind of flower was extremely rare. Whoever summoned him chose fairly wisely. Exellius was pleased with the precious flower. Being summoned after all this time, Exellius had thought no one would call upon him again... but then again there was a time when the god didn't wish to be summoned anymore. He was now use to his isolation. What mortal left this flower and why were they no longer here? Exellius thought it was strange for someone to complete the summoning, yet not step forward to greet him. What mortal did that? However, as Exellius stared down at the flower, he could tell it was handled with care. Whoever had held this flower within their grasp clearly didn't intend to insult the god. Perhaps the mortal shall come again and that's when he could see for himself. Kneeling down, Exellius stuck the stem of the flower into the ground, right in front of the sacred rock. "You're words have been heard. Your garden shall be blessed..." Exellius hummed softly watching the flower grow into the ground before several other similar flowers grew along beside it. ~*~FaLlEn*SnOw~*~
A soft wind tugged at his hair and clothes, the scent of a mixture of sweet fragrances reach his nose, and Shinseina opens his eyes. It seemed that he had dozed off while sitting on the bench, and the day had slowly turned into early evening, the sky becoming a mixture of beautiful colors, like a water color painting on a canvas. He blinks a few times, admiring the view of the setting sun, before standing up from his spot, taking the umbrella once more in his hands. At first he turns towards the way to the palace, but something about the flowers stops him from taking any steps forward. Glancing at a rose that was right beside him, he tilts his head, brows furrowing just slightly as he tries to figure out just what it was about the flower that was different. Some might call him crazy, but Shinseina had always told others that if he listened, he could hear the voices of the earth, the songs of nature, whispering, chanting, calling to him. His gaze turns to the other flowers surrounding him, and that was when he noticed it...the flowers...they all seemed to be more...happy...Did that mean...? He turns around, gazing back up at the path that led to his secret spot, wondering. "Is it...maybe...?" He murmurs, retracing his steps back up the stone path, his heart beginning to race as the closer he drew to his hideaway, the more vibrant and joyful the plants seemed to become. Stepping through the shrine, and moving forward still, he goes into the clearing, but just as he was about to reach the view of the stone, a voice rings through the air, calling out for him. He pauses, heart yearning to see what had happened, but he knew that if he didn't respond, the servants would come looking for him. With a look of forlorn longing, he turns away, tearing his eyes from the opening that led into the secret garden, and heads back. "Tomorrow...I'll come back tomorrow..." Hurrying, he re-enters the main garden, where two of his servants were waiting for him. They bow to him, before addressing him. "Master. Your dinner is ready to be eaten, and there is a letter for you sent from your father." He nods quietly, and steps past them, heading towards the palace. The servants follow in his footsteps, and shortly he arrives. Stepping within the walls of his otherworldly home, his footsteps automatically takes him to the room where his food awaited. The evening passes quickly, and soon night falls, finding Shinseina in his room, laying down and staring out at the stars; the door leading out into the yard open as always, allowing a cooling breeze to find its' way into the room. His mind was stuck on one thing only at the point, even though he knew he should be excited. The letter from his father had noted that he was coming to visit, along with his mother, in about four days time. But even so, all he could think about was the strangeness of his flowers, and what was waiting for him back at the sacred spot. Eventually he falls asleep, his dreams a cacophony of colorful hues, sweet and subtle scents, and the faint presence of someone not of this world. A soft smile could be seen on his face as he slept, and in his appearance he looked almost angelic himself, his own beauty rivaling that of the plants and nature that was just outside where he rested. And that was just it. Because unknown to Shinseina himself, he too was different. Unique. A rare jewel in the midst of a seashore of pebbles and sand. Exellda
The Kami calmly waited, settling down near the brush and leaning against a tree. He was patient, he'd wait for the summoner to come. Very few had summon him over time... Even fewer could summon him physically... This fact also played a part in why the god was so intrigued to meet the mortal... However time seemed to tick on by with no summoner to be seen. When he listened to the plants around him, they told him to wait, to be patient and that he wouldn't be disappointed. Some spoke of the mortal, apparently male and at a ripe young age. The mortal had summon him, a single mortal who was young? How intriguing... In the past villagers would gather around and chant together. Maybe that was no longer common? Another thing Exellius wished to know was where the scroll was. Perhaps the human took it with him. Either way, it didn't matter. He would meet the mortal. The god had waited watching the sun move across the sky ever so slowly until finally, the plants told him that the mortal was coming. He too then heard the steps of the human, eagerness in his foot steps. It seemed that the mortal was interested to meet the god, as much as he wanted to meet him as well. However, he want to see the human first, thus the reason the god was hidden by the brush. Suddenly a voice called out, calling... Shinseina... So that was the mortals name? The foot steps stopped and from the gods view he could see some of the mortals features. Such as the kimono he wore, how young he appeared to be, and how his hair carried ornaments in it. Exellius watched and listened as he heard the mortal make promise to see him tomorrow. When the mortal left the god decided to come out of hiding. He would ow wait for the night. He wanted to make sure the human kept his promise... So when night finally came, he made his way towards the home of the mortal. As he approached, the god found a dead cherry blossom tree. It wasn't necessarily dead, it just wasn't the time of year for it to bloom. So Exellius touched the tree, bringing it to a full bloom once more. It was almost glowing with how vibrant it was. After a moment he let his hand caress the bark of the tree, "Good morning... Hummn, no, more like good night." He smiled softly a the tree. The god then wandered to the home, touching the outside wall. All material that use to be alive... Exellius made his way quietly around, looking, gazing at anything he considered to be new. He didn't worry too much about being caught because the form he was in... could only be seen by the summoner right now. So he could walk past any human that was awake and not have to explain himself to them why he was there. Eventually his steps lead him to and open door, that was the mortal's room. He gazed at the sleeping body in the room. He wouldn't disturb the peace here. He merely wanted to leave a reminder... In Exellius' hand bloomed a similar flower to the one the mortal summoned him with. In his other hand he formed a vase made of a rare clay and filled it with dirt. He stuck the flower into the vase and then watered the flower. "Make sure you come to visit me..." Exellius said quietly. He wondered if the mortal would hear his words in his sleep as he set the vase down, right in the middle of the doorway.
~*~FaLlEn*SnOw~*~
As he slept, a voice called to him in his dreams, unaware that the one speaking was not dwelling within his mind, but was in the very room as him, standing there in the moon light, illuminated by its' white light, and from the soft glowing that came from the now blooming sakura blossoms upon the cherry tree just outside his open doorway. The smile that was on his lips grows a little more, and in his sleep he responds to the god. "I will come...and visit you...I promise..." His voice soft and serene, innocent sounding. By morning, the warmth of the sun upon his face wakes him, and slowly he opens his eyes. He was surprised by the sight that he awoke to, and sits up quickly, staring at the flower in the vase. Where had that come from? Who had left it there? What confused him the most was the blossom that was resting inside of the clay vase. It was, in appearance, very similar to the one he'd left on the sacred rock within the secret garden...so how had that flower gotten here? Because he knew that none of those who served under him knew of that spot...could it really be...that he'd been visited by the god himself? He knew that he couldn't go out right at that moment, but once he was dressed and had eaten breakfast, he heads outside, going about his usual scheduled walk, but the second he was out of sight of the servants he hurries up the cobbled walkway, heading straight to the spot where he hid away all of his secrets. Passing through the shrine, he pauses at the entrance of the magical hide away, his eyes staring at the rock, and the flowers that were now growing in front of it. Slowly he steps forward, until he was standing right in front of the spot, before kneeling down, brushing the tip of his forefinger lovingly across one of the blossom's petals, treating it with the upmost care, like the delicate beauty it was. He had noticed from before, as he'd stepped out of his room, that the cherry tree had bloomed, and the way it had appeared, his eyes taking in the faint glow of the sakura, and knew...he had indeed been visited during the night. Folding his hands together, he bows his head and closes his eyes a little. "Thank you...Kami-sama...For blessing my garden..." His voice was quiet, but even in his whispers one could hear how musical each syllable that came from between his lips sounded, like that of a beautiful song, a lullaby from the heavens. "Thank you for granting my request, and hearing my prayer. I humbly call to thee, and wish that you hear my prayer. Please, let your blessing stay for all eternity. Kami-sama, I bow before you...and hope that you grant my request..." Pulling the flower from his hair, he places it upon the rock, in the space where he had lain the flower from last night. Once again, this bloom was a rarity as well, as most of the things that grew within his garden had some sort of uniqueness to them. There were common flowers too, but his pride and joy were the ones that you didn't see too often, the ones that you could only, for the most part, see in this place. Standing, he goes over to the water's edge, and kneels there, resting the umbrella he was carrying on his shoulder, and waits. Wondering if the god would show himself. Even so, if he did not, that was quite alright. Shinseina was content with just staying in that spot, listening to the water trickling next to him, and the sound of a song bird singing in the trees. The scroll in which he'd read from yesterday was placed in his lap, one of his hands resting lightly upon it.
Exellda
By morning and when the sun had risen up, Exellius was travelling back to the garden. Last night after hearing the mortal talk in his sleep he knew that he should keep his promise as well. He has rested at his own shrine, feeling as though he still wasn't welcome among the mortals yet. Thus, here he was, walking into the enchanted garden, much thanks to his blessings of course. But, it did have immense beauty even before he came here. From what the god could tell, the mortal would be arriving soon. Sure enough, as he walked hidden by the brush, he could see the human approaching the sacred stone. He watched the other male place another rare flower upon the stone, he could hear the whispers that passed through the other's lips. A soft spoken, kind mortal. That's what the human seemed to be. From his spot he watched the human go to the waters edge. Exellius decided, that maybe now wouldn't be a bad time to make himself known to the mortal. After all, the mortal should know who he's dealing with. He walked over towards the sacred stone, quietly, and grabbing the delicate rare flower he wondered towards the human. As he got closer he could see the human looking down into his reflection in the water. He is young, beautiful with youth, that was for sure. He didn't notify that he was coming, again as he walked life became to grow, he merely walked up to the young mortal, stood behind him. There was a precise moment when Exellius had his hands extended, that the other male turned to look at him. However, Exellius didn't stop what he was doing, he placed the flower back into the human's hair. The flower bloomed and curled itself into the mortals hair, seemingly making an elegant braid. "Beautiful." Said the god, however, the way he looked at the human it was hard to tell if he was referring him or the flower... "I think it looks better there, don't you think?" ~*~FaLlEn*SnOw~*~
Gazing into the waters of the pond, staring down at his own reflection, he smiles. Shinseina was content, and was unaware that someone else was with him, not noticing the god that was mere feet away from him, stepping closer until he was right behind the prince. However, the moment that happens he sees the reflection of not only himself, but someone else in the water, causing him to turn and look up at the visitor to his garden, eyes wide with curiosity and slight surprise. His eyes widen even more, frozen not in fear, but expectancy, and when the flower was placed once more in his hair, curling its' way into the spot, he raises a hand to touch the soft silken petals. Hearing the words spoken, his brows press together gently, unsure if he himself was being called beautiful, or the flower in his hair. Glancing at his reflection, he simply nods at the question, before asking one of his own. "Who...might you be? Are you a Kami-sama? Shizen no Kami?" He asks this as if it were a normal thing, as if gods weren't unusual, but there was awe in the way he asked it. In his words, he wasn't trying to be rude or inconsiderate, he was simply curious. His hand had returned to where it was resting in his lap, laying atop the scroll, in which the spell he'd said the other day was written. "If I might ask...why are you showing yourself to me?" Slowly he stands up, straightening the folds of his kimono as he did, and slips the scroll into one of the sleeves, before clasping his hands lightly in front of himself. His gaze never once left the face of the stranger's, his own large peacock feather colored eyes glittering and glistening with admiration and fascination to the one standing before him. As much as he knew how upset he should be with someone else finding his garden, he was not. In fact...he was quite happy that this individual was here, for reasons he could not explain. Exellda
The god found himself bemused by the mortal. This was certainly a change than what he was use to. The mortal treated him as if greeting an equal, as if he wasn't a god. Exellius couldn't deny if he liked that fact of not. However, he didn't like how the human was not afraid of him. "I am sure you know very well who I am." The god hummed softly, "I am the Shizen no Kami, you are correct." Unmoving as the boy stood up, the god replied simply with, "I usually show myself to the summoner... However, you're quiet the unique one. You were not there to greet me with a sacred flower. Despite this, I am very fond of the small collection you have here. Being awakened after many years... It was very welcoming." The god's eyes drifted to a nearby cherry blossom tree, he watched it for a moment as some petals fluttered slowly and gently down. Once his eyes came back to the human he said, "What do I call you?" he asked. He heard the name once, yet he wanted to hear it from the male himself. "And tell me, why did you summon me, then hmmn? You're garden is wondrous even without my aid."
~*~FaLlEn*SnOw~*~
His assumption about the man standing before him being, indeed Shizen no Kami, shocked Shinseina a little bit. He hadn't been completely sure, but now that he knew...His eyes lit up with complete admiration, and bows in respect to the god. "I am very sorry about not being able to greet you when you had come, Shizen-sama. I wanted to, please believe me, but I wasn't able to. I hope you can forgive me." He bows again, this time in apology. He was glad to hear that the god was pleased with his garden, a satisfied smile forming on his lips. As he straightened up again, he looks to the spot in which he saw the God gazing, watching a single petal as it drifted to rest upon the surface of the water that the tree was growing next to. A ring of gentle circles formed around it, until the water once again becomes completely still like before. He raises his eyes from the petal strewn water at the question that was asked of him, curious as to why the god was asking for his name. Surely he knew already? However, he answers nonetheless. "I am called Shinseina Tori, the Sacred Bird of Japan." He pauses for a moment, before continuing, answering the second part of the question that he had been asked by the god. "As to why I called out for you...well..." He gazes around at the flowers and plants that surrounded him, the colorful view that he loved so much. "I wanted it so that...I could always enjoy my garden, all year...never have to see the plants wither and die, to always have the scent of the flowers to smell, and the colors never fade...For this garden is my life, it is my joy...Yes, like you said, it might be wondrous already even without your aid but...I wish to never see it die." Once more his hand reached up to caress the flower that was braided into his hair. A thought struck his mind, about something the god had said. "When you said you were awakened after many years...did that mean you were...asleep? How is that so? That sounds like it would be...such a lonely existence..." He couldn't imagine being in a deep slumber for a long time, all alone, with no one to be with. Even though he chose to stay in his solitary state, Shinseina would, from time to time, go and seek company, and on rare occasions, leave his home and venture to the villages and cities that dotted the land of Japan, visiting his people and seeing what had taken place in his absence. Exellda
The god appreciated the eager politeness the young human had. Rest assured the god didn't feel that the mortal had to be formal with him. Exellius, in his mind, was only a nature god. Nothing more, nothing less. The Kami listened to the enthusiasm pouring out of the younger male, Shinseina Tori, the Sacred Bird of Japan. Shinseina, the god repeated in his mind, remembering the summoners name. A beautiful name for a beautiful mortal. A smile graced the gods lips. "Shinseina..." Exellius tested the name, "Your enthusiasm moves me. It makes me happy to see someone else who shares my opinion. I am flattered to be summoned to a beautiful garden such as yours." He complimented, "However, I don't feel as though you should be so formal with me. Shizen, Kami, or Exellius would be suitable ways to address me. I am merely a god of nature, nothing more nor less." To address Shinseina's question, the god nodded, "It was lonely but I guess being surrounded by nature helped me deal with it. For a long time I believed the scroll was lost and would never be found again. Which is why I was surprised to be summoned after all this time. I never knew I would miss to see mortals again... I thought maybe the scroll was destroyed or misplaced... However, looking back, I do know there was a time when I didn't wish to be summoned anymore... My memories have hazed since then..." Exellius then walked over to the blossoming Cherry blossom tree and the sat down at it's base. He motioned Shinseina to come sit with him. Folding his arms across his chest the Kami watched the mortal sit near him. "I know it's been forever... Also because I am radiating energy." As he said so, Exellius looked around and sure enough, even plants at a certain distance were growing. "It might also have to do with the fact that I am in a good mood. Or perhaps that I was summoned into a beautiful garden." Exellius also felt interest to the fact that his summoner was a young male, but alas, that was not something to say on a first meeting. ~*~FaLlEn*SnOw~*~
Shinseina was surprised when the god told him to not address him so formally, telling him that he could call him by three different things, each sounding rather personal, as if they were friends. However, he was glad that he was being given permission to do so, and smiles at the god. He had definitely like the sound of his name falling from Shizen's lips, it was beautiful, the way the god had pronounced his name, like music. Listening to the things that he was told, he thought about the scroll, that was now safely tucked into the sleeve of his yukata, glad that it had not indeed been ruined or misplaced. For as long as he could remember, this particular scroll had been in the possession of his family for quite some time, even from before he was born. He recalled a story that his mother had told him, about how having that scroll in the place where he lived now, was enough to let the flowers grow and bloom so beautifully. She had wanted the palace to be perfect for her prince when he moved in at the right time, and sure enough, it was. The scroll had been placed in the shrine before now, a sacred place. Blessed. Sitting down next to Shizen beneath the cherry tree, noticing how the flowers were growing all around the god, coming to life and becoming more vibrant than they were moments before. As he sat there, a vision reached his eyes, of that same place, and of some person sitting beneath it, though it looked like him, Shinseina, something about himself was different. He had a feral appearance, something not normal. His eyes, the way his hair was, even his clothing was unnatural. Frowning, the sight of himself like this concerned him, but it didn't last long. In fact, it was only a few seconds, even though it had seemed like a few minutes. His eyes look over at Shizen, hearing the words that were being said, though not quite processing them just yet. After a moment, he gives himself a little shake before answering what the God talked about. "Maybe it was all of those reasons?" He was still a little shaken about what he'd seen, but does not let the fear show in his eyes, no, instead he made himself seem as if nothing was wrong, and everything was absolutely right at that moment. He allows himself to relax, knowing that at least being around someone like Shizen would keep him safe.
Exellda
The god watched the young male sit with him. He noticed a peculiar look upon the boys face, however it was so brief that the god thought he had mistaken. The god didn't question it either. He merely leaned his head back against the tree. When the human finally responded, he nodded, smiling softly, "Perhaps you're right, it could be all of those." Shizen closed his eyes for a moment, letting the breeze carry his hair, caress it in the wind as it swayed. Exellius thought about the plants growing beside him, his thoughts shifted to the forest... and to the edge of the forest. He wondered how far the land stretched. He also often wondered what other things looked like. These thoughts made the god sigh, "Shinseina..?" the god asked quietly, "Have you even been away from this home?" He paused, "What I am asking is, have you traveled before?" The god had always wondered what it would be like to travel. Sadly, he never had and didn't want to admit he had never traveled before... At least further than the edge of this forest. His scroll may have. He may have been summoned to a garden elsewhere... But Exellius had never traveled... Another thing that the god had never done was that he never got to see other mortals. He never met new people besides the ones who summoned him. He was always in the garden and Exellius believed that he couldn't go out of the garden. He had always wanted to see what a village looked like, or even perhaps a small town... Yet at the same time, the Kami couldn't fathom what it would be like to be without a garden... Would he even survive? But, he was the god of nature... and wherever nature went, surely he could go too... Could he not? What the god wanted to know was if he could go outside of the garden... To be seen by others... Over the course of his life he had only asked this two other times. Once he asked, he never asked again... He didn't like the answers he was given the first two times... Curiosity made Exellius want to ask the young male, in the hopes he would have a different answer than those of the past... Times have changed, so hopefully this mortal would have a promising answer... "Might I ask a request..?" His eyes opened and he made eye contact with the mortal, "Perhaps you could show me the world outside of the garden..?"
~*~FaLlEn*SnOw~*~
Hearing a sigh escape the lips of the god made Shinseina look over at him again, tilting his head ever so slightly at the strange question that was asked over him. Had he ever been away from home, has he ever travelled. Shinseina wondered why he was being asked such a question, and for a moment he was silent, a mere second or two, before speaking up, and answering Shizen's question. "Yes, I have been away from home. But not very often. I travel to different villages and cities, though I find that even going for a short while is exhausting. You see, I've always been weak and rather sickly, even when I was little, that's why when I was old enough, my mother and father created this place for me, thinking it would help my health. It does for the most part, but even I get lonely, so once in a while I will go around the country and visit the people." He settles himself down against the trunk of the tree, folding his knees up close to his chest and wrapping his arms around his legs, clasping his hands in front of his shins. Just why was Shizen asking him this? Maybe it was just to get to know him a little better. But before he could ask this and confirm it, he was surprised by the thing he was asked of next. A request? "Sure, go on. What is it?" He replies, looking intently at the god. His eyes meet with Shizen's, and stares at the words that followed next. For a moment he was silent, processing the request that had been made. So, Shizen no Kami, wanted him, Shinseina, to show him the world outside the garden... A smile grows on his lips, and his eyes twinkle like shimmering diamonds. He then nods. "Yes, I think I can do that. I'm actually going to be going out in two weeks time, so...how about then?" While he'd been talking, his hand had moved forward to rest on top of Shizen's, and only now did Shinseina realize this. He quickly pulls his hand away, and looks to the side, a faint blush on his cheek. "Sorry, I...I didn't think about what I was doing. I hope you can forgive me." Exellda
The god found that he liked learning more about this human, he seemed to be more intriguing with every bit information that he gained. So Shinseina was frail? Poor thing. Shizen thought it was good that he summoned him. The garden was an excellent place for comfort, or at least that's what the god thought. He watched as the younger male sat next to him, hugging his knees. This human was precious and didn't even know it. Exellius could see something in him, yet it was only their first meeting. There was just something about Shinseina... that made the god want to ask questions, explore with him, perhaps even carry him if he was tired. He wanted to visit all around the country... "I would like to travel..." Shizen said quietly. Shizen looked over at the other male who's eyes twinkled and smile was infectious. Such a sweet human, he was. "I would be honored to go with you." A smile graced the lips of the god. His thoughts drifted slightly in wonderment of where he would go, where would he travel, and all together, what he would do with Shinseina. This human would seemingly become his friend. At some point during the conversation Shinseina had moved his hands on top of his hands. They were small, warm, and friendly. Just having contact... Was a feeling that the god didn't know he had missed... However Exellius didn't get to enjoy the comfort for long, the warmth of the other males' hands too soon disappeared when he apologized. The god took notice that Shinseina's pale face was dusted a faint pink. Exellius was quick to shake his head and reassure, "No, no, Shinseina, please don't apologize... Have you forgotten that I've not been summoned for a long time? Surely you would know how lonely that is? Never being able to leave, nor see anyone, nor talk or feel someone's presence..." Exellius moved before he could think about it, shifting, moving towards Shinseina. His arms wrapped around his small frame, as gently as he could, and embraced Shinseina, "Please consider me as a friend."
~*~FaLlEn*SnOw~*~
Relief spread through his entire body as Shizen told him that what he'd done hadn't been taken as rudeness or inconsideration. In fact, what the god does next surprises him, more than the question that he'd asked moments before about being able to travel with Shinseina. And of which, the prince was quite glad that Shizen had agreed to come along with him on his journey in two weeks time, something he was sure would be more enjoyable now that he had company to spend the days with as they were gone. He was looking forward to showing the God his world, and getting to know Shizen himself. Hearing the words that followed, he had to agree. Yes, he knew all too well what it was like to know loneliness, not being around anyone for long periods of time, having to stay in one place, without ever being allowed to step forth from that place, leave and go where he wanted. Forever alone, no one to talk to or share special moments with. All by himself, with only his garden, horse, bird, and the animals in the garden to keep him company. For sure, it was lonely, and a terrible feeling to have to endure. He couldn't imagine what it would be like, going even longer than himself being in solitude like Shizen had. A small gasp escapes his lips when he felt the warmth of the god's body moving closer to his own, arms wrapping around him, gently and carefully, as if Shinseina were a delicate flower, one which, at the slightest breeze, would fall apart with the petals floating away in the wind. For a moment he could say or do nothing, except trying to figure out if this was real or not, was this god...really embracing him in such a close manner. Was the heart beating so close to his ear reality, or was it just a figment of his imagination. The words that Shizen says, a creation of his own mind, or were they really being spoken? "I...yes...you're my friend..." He notices that the God had a faint smell of flowers, the strongest being of lavender and roses. After he realizes this, he blushes even deeper than before. "Um, Shizen...would you, like to look around the garden? I can...show you a few places...If you'd like..." There were a few particular spots that were special, but not quite much so as where they were now. One had a wooden pavilion like building, the walls open to the garden, and there was a wooden bench. All around it were flowers, and at a distance the ruins of some old structure could be seen, like from a fairy tale. "If you wish though...we could stay here..." To be honest, he didn't mind being close to the god, something about him felt...comforting. Warm and welcoming, a gentle entity who made him feel at ease. Even after seeing such a sight moments earlier in his minds eye, being so close, feeling the warmth coming from Shizen and the kindness that came from him...he soon forgot all about that. Exellda
A part of Shizen worried there, for a brief moment if he had moved too quickly, frightened the younger male. But sweet, sweet bliss came once Shinseina agreed to be his friend. He would remember this as he inhaled slowly, taking in the spring-like sensational smell that Shinseina had. At that moment, unbeknownst to Shinseina, Shizen could see small vines grow up the tree next to them, then blooming into pretty vibrant little flowers. He was happy, grateful as well as thankful. "Thank you Shinseina..." for summoning me as well... As he held Shinseina within his arms, he listened to his voice. And the offer Shinseina made at the end... Was all too tempting. He would love to stay near him. Exellius chuckled softly, pulling back just enough to see Shinseina's whole face. He couldn't help himself no longer, his hands reached up, pinching Shinseina's cheeks lightly, "My summoner is so cute, so fragile and delicate... Like a pretty, rare flower whom's beauty surpasses all that surrounds it." he said, letting the words slip past his lips like sweet honey. But once he realized what he said, he cleared his throat and stopped pinching the human's cheeks. "Sorry..." The god didn't wish to split from the mortal, however his perception of what was too close and not too close was a little off. So he suggested the next best thing, "How about we go look, but I let you have a ride on my back. I'll carry you and you can tell me which way to go... Pull my hair if you wish." The god joked, happy and content with being casual. "Unless you truly wish to stay here, then I will."
~*~FaLlEn*SnOw~*~
He looked into Shizen's eyes, noticing how the god had pulled away slightly, as if trying to get a full view of his face and what it appeared like at that moment. He blinks rapidly in surprise when his cheeks were suddenly pinched, and he blushes even deeper than before at what was being said about him by the god. Apparently Shizen realized what he'd said, and pinches his cheeks again, leaving Shinseina with cherry blossom pink cheeks. "A ride on your back?" He repeats, tilting his head slightly. As odd as that sounded, it would be a change of pace, walking through the garden often got quite tiring for him. "Alright." He really wanted to show Shizen all the beauty of his place, wanting the god to get to know him even more. And maybe as he shared his home, the god might be willing to tell a few things of himself. That would be nice, wouldn't it? Standing up, he straightens the front of his yukata, thinking about how this would work. Even at the thought of getting a ride upon the god's back made him feel a little awkward, but he quickly pushes the thought from his mind, not wanting to get too nervous and end up not going through with it. A light breeze flows through the branches of the trees, and with it came the scent of thousands of different flowers, the aroma in harmony with one another, not overpowering at all. After the god stands up, Shinseina carefully climbs up onto the god's back, wrapping his arms around the god's shoulders, his knees clinging to his sides. He felt a bit awkward at that moment, and he was sure that the god could feel how fast his heart was beating at that moment. His face was a darker red than before, but he stays where was at. He was quite light in weight, which was definitely a good thing. "Alright... Let's go..." He points to a small clearing that led further into the garden and further away from his home. There was so much to see, so Shinseina decided to guide the god to a specific rock that was further in the secret garden, a large rock outcropping that showed the entire expanse of the garden that only Shinseina knew about, well, himself and now the god. It was about a twenty or so minute walk from where they were, and on the way Shinseina pointed out flowers and birds and animals, as well as different special spots of his, from a hole in the base of a tree, which held different things he'd show the god later, to a path that led down to a stream and a small water fall. All the while he held on firmly to the god, his chin resting on the god's shoulder, feeling the silkiness of Shizen's hair against his cheek. They arrive, and Shinseina climbs down, gazing out at the picturesque view of the garden. He then turns to Shizen, a smile on his face. "What do you think? This is just the part of the secret garden...I haven't even shown you the main part of the garden that everyone else knows about...This is my hide away...my paradise...I hope you like it..." Exellda
Exellius turned so that Shinseina could easily get on his back and once the younger male established himself, Shizen looped his arms around the others legs to support him more. It surprised the god to learn that Shinseina was incredibly light, it seemed unnatural and unhealthy. The god felt as if he would break the other's small, frail form on accident if he wasn't too careful. On command the god went in the direction that Shinseina pointed. Along the way he would stop whenever the other male would point at animals or other pretty flowers or other places that perhaps they could explore some day together. Shizen was happy with the amount of knowledge the other male knew. It was quite the peaceful walk and the god would be happy to do it again and again. Being in the presence of such a wondrously spectacular and beautiful garden raised Shizen's spirit. The scenery was so moving to the god that sometimes he would hum a small tune unknowingly. Once they arrived at their destination, Shizen helped Shinseina get down. When he heard Shinseina talk and saw the smile upon his face, the god returned a smile. He reached over and ruffled the younger's hair. "Of course. I love your garden, in fact I am honored and grateful to be summoned into such a beautiful place. Out of the gardens I have been summoned to, I would have to say this is the most extravagant..." And it was true. It was also true that no one had been so kind and respectful to the god... Exellius then bowed to Shinseina, "I cannot thank you enough. Thank you Shinseina." Sure there was that one time... But that was in the past, and thinking about it made the god ache, one place in particular along his back. Exellius wished to not live through that again... A memory came to him at that moment. He remembered that day like it was yesterday... He remembered the feeling of betrayal and hate. He also remembered when he lost himself in the moment... How frightful he became to those who saw him and how the one who betrayed him framed him so perfectly... "How did you discover this? Or perhaps you wondered here?" Inquired the god, blinking in realization that he had spaced out for a moment.
~*~FaLlEn*SnOw~*~
With his hair ruffled, the faint pinkness that he'd managed to get to go away while they were walking returns, and he turns his face, to hide the fact that he was blushing. However, when Shizen speaks and says that he was satisfied with the view of the garden, he quickly lifts his eyes, looking straight at the god. Did he really? Shinseina was so glad, and a smile forms on his lips, not really caring at that point that his flushed cheeks were showing. He was happy about this, having been able to make the god happy. He blinks in surprise as Shizen suddenly bows in front of him, thanking him deeply for showing him the place. Shinseina shakes his head then, feeling butterflies in his stomach. Waving his hands quickly back and forth in front of him, while still shaking his head, he dismisses everything. "N-no, don't m-mention it! It was my pleasure, I really wanted to show you this....s-so, there is no need to thank me. Please, it is quite an honor simply having you here, in my garden...s-so...um, yes..." He felt like he was just rambling, so stops talking, staring out at the view, taking deep breaths to try and calm his nerves. Things go quiet around them, and Shinseina looks over at Shizen, who seemed lost in thought. The prince's brows press together lightly, but he says nothing, instead returning his gaze to the layout of the land before him. It sure was a beautiful sight, and he was so glad that he had it all to himself, and that he'd shared it with Shizen. Before now, he'd told himself that he was never going to share it with anyone else, but at that moment...now that he thought about it, he was glad that he'd shared the view. It made him feel...happy. He was startled from his own trail of thought when Shizen suddenly speaks to him, asking about how he'd come across the garden. Thinking for a moment, he had to look back on the first time he knew of it. Which was hard...now that he thought about it. "I...don't really know...for as long as I can remember, I've always known about this place. Even when I first arrived here, twelve years ago, for some reason...I knew it was here. It called to me...and showed me it's secrets...And...even before then, before I came to the palace. I somehow knew, that there was a garden like this...waiting for me. It's hard to explain..." Just as he was saying this, he suddenly feels something drip onto his cheek, almost like a tear. However, he was not crying. Soon after, another drop of wet followed, and he looks up. The sky was beginning to cloud up, and rain was falling from the sky. It looked like it wouldn't be long before there was a downpour. And sure enough, the heavens open, and it starts raining really hard. "We can find shelter over in that shelter." He points to a small spot to their right, a path leading to it. "It shouldn't take very long, maybe ten minutes to reach it..." His clothing was already starting to get soaked, and his hair stuck to his face as more and more rain fell. It was cold rain as well, not the warm rain he usually liked to be out in. And no doubt, even so, he shouldn't have been in that rain either. Exellda
Exellius noticed how the younger male blushed around him, at first he wasn't sure if the other had a fever, but no, he was correct, Shinseina was blushing. He was such a cutie. As expected, Shinseina was beyond polite, telling him that there was no need to thank him... However Exellius didn't feel that way, he truly was grateful, to the point flowers started to bloom at his feet. It was almost ridiculous how much energy he was radiating, nevertheless, Shizen couldn't help it when he was in a good mood. The view simply could never redone, it was simply spectacular. It was like a home away from home for the god. His influence just added to the beauty of it all. Although... When Exellius thought about it, Shinseina was the perfect piece to the whole puzzle. Shinseina was beautiful just like the scenery around him and Shizen couldn't help but to be enamored by him, the god suspected that the other male didn't know how beautiful he was... Exellius felt like he should inform Shinseina sometime. Then Shinseina trails off, and it was only then god realizes that it was beginning to rain. The rain quickly changed from small little droplets to a downpour within the minute. Exellius was quick to realize that they were both going to get soaked at this point. Judgement told him that he shouldn't let Shinseina get too soaked. He didn't want the other to get ill because he was frail. Ten minutes was far too long of time and with each passing second, his own kimono would be soaked through... Normally he wouldn't have minded the rain, had he been walking by himself and if the water not been cold. No, this will not do, certainly for Shinseina. The best thing would be to immediately seek the shelter. The god could only hope Shinseina would forgive what he was about to do, "Then lets make haste, shall we?" Then Shizen approached Shinseina quickly, scooping him into his arms, like a woman, in a bridal style fashion. Yet he was careful when he did so, conscious of his frail frame. He leaned slightly forward over the other, shielding Shinseina from the rain the best he could, it didn't matter to him that he would get wet. He was more worried for Shinseina. Then the god broke into a sprint, still with every step plants continued to grow... By the time they got to the shelter Shinseina had pointed out, the god had cut a little more than half the time it would have taken to walk there. Something Exellius hadn't noticed yet was that his hair was shorter, about shoulder length now, he was like a flower that closed when it was too cold. Once in the safety of the shelter, the god huffed, smilingly softly and set Shinseina down on his feet. "There you are, I hope you're not too drenched..." He was soaked but that was okay, his kimono was awkwardly and uncomfortably sticking to his back, however Shinseina seemed to be not as wet, which the god was pleased to see. ~*~FaLlEn*SnOw~*~
What Shinseina had not been expecting was the god picking him up suddenly, making him blush even darker than he was already, and make a small 'eep!' sound. The moment he was in Shizen's arms his heart started hammering loudly in his chest, and it was hard to breathe. Shinseina noticed how the god leaned slightly over him, proctecting him from the rain that was falling, and a faint smile blossomed upon his lips. The god was...so kind, and generous... To do such a thing, to carry him, a mortal...Not many a god or goddess was known to do things like that, but here Shizen was, carrying him, running in the rain, to get him to shelter. In little time at all they reach the shrine in which he'd pointed out at the rock where they'd been moments earlier, and Shizen sets him down. "Thank you..." He murmurs, rubbing his arms. He might not have gotten completely wet, but it was still cold, and he began to shiver. But he was distracted from the chill when he noticed that the god's hair had seemed to get shorter than before, wondering why it had done so. Such an intriguing notion, hair that changed length without cutting it...much like many flowers that he knew of. If it got cold or rained too much, the petals would close, keeping the flower from dying. "Hopefully it does not last too long...How are you? You got more wet than I, so...are you going to be okay?" A breeze rushes through, making goosebumps form on his skin, and shiver even more than before. Kneeling down, he sits on the floor, pulling his knees close to his body, trying to keep his body warm. Even getting like this could make him sick, and he did not want that. If that happened, he'd be stuck inside at the main house for a while, with the servants tending him non stop...Such nagging women. But he knew that they were the best, his mother had chosen them from her own. He wondered if they were out looking for him, knowing that they would think he was in the main garden. With that thought, he sneezes quietly. "Shizen, how long do you think this will last? It looked like it was going to be a while...the clouds were so dark when we got here..." He looks up at the god, worry in his eyes. He feared he wouldn't be able to make it back home by night fall, and if that happened, he would be in serious trouble. Exellda
Seeing Shinseina shiver was more of a concern to him than himself, "No, no, don't worry about me, I am fine. I am concerned for you, Shinseina, you are freezing." Brows furrowed, the god crouched down in front of Shinseina. "Don't worry, I'll wait with you here and make sure that you will be okay." How could he warm Shinseina up? Sure there was some way he could comfort him? The god hesitated, pursing his lips in thought. He questioned whether Shinseina would be comfortable with the idea he had in his mind... However, Exellius was worried that the other would get sick if he kept shivering like that. Shizen was a god of nature though... Not a god of heat nor weather nor healing... Plants couldn't provide heat... But Exellius could, perhaps even the energy he projected could warm Shinseina? Would Shinseina be okay with that? He supposed he could ask... Exellius got up, made his way to the wall, sitting down and making himself comfortable. He wanted Shinseina to know that this was optional... "Shinseina... Please don't shiver anymore... Come, let me silent your shivers, if you will." He wanted Shinseina to come into his embrace, hopefully he could use his body heat to warm him. However, Exellius was still soaked, or at least mostly the upper half of him. A frown settled it's way onto the god's face. This made him distraught. He couldn't possibly even try to warm the other male up if he was cold too... Well there was one way. "Would you mind if I shed the top of my kimono off? It's still soaked and I fear it will not help the situation. But of course if you do not wish to, you do not have to sit with me." His chest would be bare if Shinseina agreed, he didn't want the younger to become uncomfortable and Shizen was only trying to think of their best option while it rained. ~*~FaLlEn*SnOw~*~
A faint smile makes it's way onto Shinseina's lips as he watched the god try and think of a way to keep him from shivering and being cold. The concern and caring that Shizen was showing was enough to warm the prince all on it's own, but even so he was still physically cold. For a moment or two, there was silence between them, the only sound around them being that of the rain falling outside the shrine. And, from the sound of how heavily it was raining, the downfall was not going to let up any time soon. Looking up from his hands when he was spoken to, he was a little surprised when he was told to come over to the god, wondering what Shizen had in mind to warm him up. Though even so, Shinseina trusted the god, and gets up from where he'd been sitting, going over to him. When he reached the other male, it all made sense. Shizen wanted to warm him with his body heat, and that very thought made a faint blush form on his face. This shouldn't feel awkward, it was just a gesture of kindness. So, he leans close to the god, allowing himself to be pulled into the embrace of the god. However the next question was a little...unsettling, though not in a bad way. It just made Shinseina feel a little nervous. that was all. "I...do not mind..." He murmurs, allowing the god to do as he had said, and once that was finished he leans in once more, closing his eyes. He rests his head upon Shizen's shoulder, closing his eyes, and folding his hands in his lap. He could definitely feel the warmth coming off of the god, already his shivers were starting to cease. However, even so, it was not only Shizen's kimono that had gotten wet, as his had as well. Maybe not so much as Shizen's, but it was still wet from top to bottom. His hair was also wet, and so he reaches up and pulls the pin that was holding it in place, letting it fall. His hair, when down, reached past his shoulders, reaching to the middle of his spine, just beneath his shoulder blades. It was silky and soft, much like the rare silk that was sometimes weaved into the most extraordinary yukatas and rugs, it was a beautiful raven black in color, with a slight shine to it. A few droplets of water fall from the tips of his bangs, which fell into his face now that his hair was down.
