By the time Jason got off work, the sky was dark, a time were most people would be getting ready for a night out in the city. Of course not him, for he was hurrying home, after staying at work far to long in the past three days. Pulling his coat closer, he got out his phone sending a quick text that he was only going to be late for a few more minutes and went inside the bakery to get the chocolate cake he ordered hours before, a makeup gift.

 

This time after paying for the cake, he made a beeline straight to his, well their apartment, dodging cars and other couples on their way to their destination. Finally reaching the apartment Jason running up the flight of stairs, greeting the woman next door and opened the door to the two bedroom home.

 

Taking off his coat, he placed both on the couch breathing in the familar sents of the room. "Hey I'm back! Did you wait long? he called making his way into the kitchen, to see if his lover was there.

Olivia sat on the kitchen floor, carefully cutting various shapes from the baking paper. On the table, a big bowl of cookie dough was ready - as always, with plenty of chocolate chips there. She glanced at her nails, lip twitching in annoyance after noticing they'd grown enough to be called long by some people... That is, if she was a guy. Well, she was. She knew she was. Just, other people didn't know that - she was born as a girl, and to change her body wasn't natural.

 

As the door opened, Olivia glanced up, lips pursing the slightest bit. He was late, again. She didn't reply, putting all the tools away to cross her arms against her flattened chest; as flat as it could get when using only a sports bra. "Damn right I did." She spoke, mentally cringing at her voice. Each day was wrong, but no one else saw that. "You know what day today is? Friday. It was supposed to be our movie night!" She complained, refusing to even stand up.

Jason bit his lip, bowing his head in shame, he walked over to her "I know..I'm sorry. I got caught up at work, and there was...a lot of people in today..." Sighing after realizing, he was getting no where, he put on a smile and clapped his hands, "I know this wont make up for anything but~ I bought a cake and got some signed copies by your favorite author~" he exclaimed hoping to bring a smile on Olivia's face.

 

After planting a kiss on her cheek, he walked out the room to get her gifts, as to which than he walked back into quickly, handing her the books and placing the cake on the table, to get a knife. "Please don't be so mad at me...I promise I'll say no to when the boss asks me to work over time...if you want..."

Jason's actions didn't exactly bring a smile to Olivia's face - instead, her face lit up with both happiness and surprise. "Really? how did you?.." She asked, her lips staying parted when she was kissed on the cheek, a sense of happiness finally running over her. She felt happy in moments like this.

 

"I'm not mad, it's just..." She sighed, slowly lifting herself up from the floor, stopping Jason from taking the knife, gently entwining their fingers. "Not on Fridays, okay? Friday evenings are supposed to be ours." She muttered, bringing her other hand around her boyfriend's neck to press a kiss to his lips. "Put the cake into the fridge for now, I'm gonna bake cookies, then we'll go watch something. Sound good?" She asked with a small smile, lovingly running her hand through Jason's hair.
