Even if a million miles separate us, the world stuck in between. You'll always be near me in my heart, forever and eternity: you and me.

~Ryosuke Takafumi - Forever and Eternity: The Album

Dozing quietly in his room, hand loosely holding onto the pencil in which he'd been using moments before, Ryosuke Takafumi stares out the window from his bedroom window on the third floor of the humongous mansion in which he called home. It was nice outside, the weather perfect for skateboarding or doing something fun, but instead he was stuck inside, studying. Or well, trying to study that is. His mind kept wandering to other things, like next band's practice, or the photo shoot and video rehearsal that was to take place during the weekend. In Ryosuke's opinion, homework was lame, but at the same time it also helped him keep a hold onto what he really was. A regular teenager in high school.

Last night at dinner he and his mother, well, his caretaker, Mufukine, had a conversation about this whole thing, and she had decided that maybe it would be best if he had a tutor, since his life as an idol often got into the way of classes, and because he missed so many he didn't always get every thing that was taught when he was gone. At first he told her it was a stupid idea, he didn't need a tutor, he could figure it out on his own. Even so, she told him to think about it, and to make her stop talking about the whole subject he'd agreed; now, as he was stuck on a question and daydreaming about other things, he was beginning to think that the whole 'tutor' idea wasn't such a dumb idea after all.

So, coming upon that decision, he sends a quick text to Mufukine and set down his pencil, closing the text book that had been laying open on his desk. Leaning back in his chair, he takes a deep breath, sighing loudly, looking up at the ceiling while stretching his arms over his head. Sticking to nearly every square inch of the ceiling, and a good part of the walls as well, were posters of different bands, as well as some of his own. Included among them were also photos, letters, and other such things from fans and admirers, and a small portion of the wall was dedicated to photos of his friends, his band mates. Goofing off, laughing, spending time together when they could. Some were at amusement parks, others at huge malls.

On the floor was a shaggy blue and red carpet, he had a huge bed that was decked out in gothic sheets and blankets, a multi level shelf was covered in books, and he also had a T.V., with lots of game consoles, with a shelf dedicated to all the different games he owned. Next to this was a huge music system, with enormous speakers and a multi deck cd holder. Scattered around the room were trinkets and such, in the corner leaning against the wall was his guitar, next to it were two amps and the plugs that went to them. A set of double doors opened to a walk in closet stuffed with all kinds of different clothes, and another set of doors swung out to reveal a balcony in which at least ten people could sit or stand comfortably. There were a couple of chairs and a table out there. On his desk was a mess of papers and other desk items, a lamp, and his cellphone. And all over the floor was a mess. Some might say it was cramped or unorganized, but to Ryosuke, it was how it was supposed to be.

A buzzing indicated that Mufukine had replied to his text, and he read what she wrote. 'Alright then. I'll contact a few people and see if they can find someone. I'll let you know once I get some information. -Mufukine Mizuo-' Tossing his phone aside after sending an 'okay' in reply, he gets up from the chair and walks over to his bed, flopping onto it, laying on his back, closing his eyes. Slowly he drifts off to sleep, exhausted from overworking his brain on complicated equations, and soon enough he was lost in the world of dreams.

Who is Ryosuke you ask? Well, he's an idol. He's the lead singer to a band named Danger Zone, a very popular group throughout not only Japan, but other countries as well. Their label was 'Colorful 5', a group that takes things like this very seriously, often pitting each of their own against each other, so as to keep them at the top of the popularity scale.

Ryosuke Takafumi. 18 years old. Resident of Tokyo, Japan. High school student. And world class idol. Who would have known?

Akihito returned home after a busy morning, he had gone to a friends’ house to help them move out and then he went off to the grocery store to buy a few things. He was in a rush because he was expecting a phone call regarding a job interview. He had currently finished university and he was looking for a job. His family and friends wanted to help him but he turned them down saying that he wanted to make it on his own.

The minute he entered his apartment, the phone rang, he quickly took his shoes off and he rushed to the phone. “Hello!” he answered. “Is this Kageyama Akihito?” an aloof voice said.

“Yes.” He replied in a serious tone while trying to catch his breath. “The position you applied for has been filled. We are sorry.” The line was cut and so were Akihito’s wings. He’s been trying too hard to get a job but he ends up with nothing in the end.

He frowned but still hoped that something else would come up and that cheered him up a bit.

It wasn’t the first time he was turned down anyway. He poured some water into the teapot and he prepared a cup of instant noodles along with some pickled cucumber he made himself the night before. While waiting for the water to boil, he thought of checking his bonsai out in case they needed watering. Bonsai don’t need to be watered every day, only once their soil is damp. He was very careful with them and he took great care of his bonsai.

The water was ready and the teapot was whistling a crazy tune. He poured the water inside the cup and he covered it with a plate so the steam wouldn’t escape. He lied on the sofa on his right side exhausted looking at his own reflection on the black TV screen. The more he was looking at it, the more he started questioning his own skills. “Why is it so difficult to find a job?” “I got all these diplomas I worked so hard to get. What for?”. He took a deep breath and he went to the kitchen to eat his meal. After eating, he went to his bedroom, he changed into his pajamas and he thought it’d be best for him to lie down for a bit till exhaustion wears off.

Around 1930 p.m. his phone started ringing. He picked it up and he checked the caller ID, it was his friend Hana, she was a tutor too, they’re not very close though. He wasn’t really in the mood to talk to her but he felt an urge to answer.

“Hello, Hana?”

“Hi, Aki! How are you? How’s job hunting going? “

“Let’s talk about something else, shall we? Like why you called me for example!”

“I don’t think you should talk to me like that since I got some good news for you!”

“What? I’m invited to one of your notorious social mixers?”

“I’m gonna turn you down!” he said in a cold tone.

“Relax, would ya? I have a job offering!”

“What are you talking about?”

“I got a call from a friend and she told me that there is this high school boy looking for a tutor and since both of our schedules were full, I thought of you!”

“High school, you said?”

“Yeah, he is a bit weak and he needs help.” Are you interested?”

“Yes, yes, of course I am.”

“Excellent! I just texted you the family’s landline number.”

“Thank you so much! How can I ever repay you?” his tone became all cheery!

“Well, you are always welcome to my social mixers!”

“About that…”

“Haha, I’m kidding! Oh, I gotta go now! See ya!”

“Bye!”

He hung up and he was in a euphoric state, he almost cried of happiness!

“Finally, I made it …well, in a way…” he said and he rushed to call the family’s number.

He went to his inbox and he started pressing the phone buttons, he was waiting for someone to answer till someone finally did, it was a boy’s voice.

“Hello, My name is Kageyama Akihito and I’m calling for the tutor’s job.”

The ringing of the phone woke him from his sleep, and for a moment he just let it ring. However, it does not stop, so he assumed that Mufukune wasn't going to answer, so gets up from the bed and crosses the room to where the landline was placed on a small side table, accompanied by a lamp and some sticky notes with a glass filled with pens and pencils. Sighing, he picks up the phone. "Hello? Takafumi residence...Huh? The tutoring job. 'K. Um, wait a second."

He sets the phone down for a moment, and opens the door to his room. "Hey! Mufukine! Answer the phone! It's some dude calling for the tutor job!" Rolling his eyes, he closes the door again, and picks the phone up once more. "Well, Mufukine should answer soon, so yeah." And right as he says this, another voice appears on the phone. "Ah, hello? This is Mufukine Mizuo speaking. I've been told you're calling for the tutoring job? Instead of speaking over the phone, would you be willing to meet somewhere to talk about the job? You can choose the place, so you feel more comfortable."

Ryosuke groans, slightly disappointed that someone had actually called in reply to the job. He knew he'd agreed to the whole idea, but he still thought it was a pain. Flopping down on the bed again, arms spread out from his sides, he sighs loudly, groaning dramatically. What was the point in going to school and studying and doing homework again? Oh yeah...it was to feel halfway normal, be like all the other teenagers his age who weren't living the life he was, the life of an idol. Even so, he felt the struggle, and often found himself caught between the two, loving and hating his lifestyle at the same time.

Rolling off the bed a second time, he goes out of his room, making his way to the kitchen, straight to the refrigerator. He rummages around in it for a bit, pulling out a soda, some left over noodles from last night, and an apple. He knew that dinner was about to be fixed in a little while, but he was hungry now. Brain food, he would call it as an excuse if Mufukine caught him with it. He knew he had to watch his weight and body size, because being an idol was not all about just singing in a band. He also had an appearance to uphold, as he was also a model for different rock star labels, and not only that his band had it's own line of clothing. It was hard work, staying a certain size, but he'd done it for nearly eight years of his life, so for him it wasn't a difficult task.

Retreating back to his room, he wondered if Mufukine was finished talking to the person who'd called. From how the caller's voice had sounded, Ryosuke deduced the individual to be a male, probably older than himself. No doubt he was, why else would the guy have time to tutor him? Munching on an apple he picks up the book he'd abandoned earlier, and turns to the page he had left off on, but after only about five minutes gets frustrated and chucks the book across the room, where it collided with the wall, landing with a soft 'thump' on the floor. "Damn it...I hate this."

“Of course, we could meet!” Akihito felt nervous but he agreed anyway.

“There is this small café at Yoyogi, 4-3-1.Would it be possible for you to meet me there tomorrow around 1200 p.m?”

“Yes, that would be great. I’ll see you then. Thank you for calling.”

“Thank you for accepting meeting me in such a short notice. Have a nice evening.”

Akihito hung up and he felt rivers of sweat running on his cheeks. He is not the type of person who enjoys meeting new people even if it’s work but he thought it’d be time to finally get over it.

He went straight to his wardrobe to choose the clothes he was going to wear tomorrow.

Making a good impression was important to him. He went for a pair of black trousers, white shirt, a black sweater and a black tie. He was so excited about this job but he didn't want to tell his family about it in case things didn't work out well for him.

He sat on his bed thinking about what he would tell, even what he is going to order!

He was a bloody perfectionist. He sat on his desk facing his computer. He opened a folder named “WORK” and he printed his CV in case that woman needed it.

He set his cell's alarm clock for 0900 a.m. and he placed it on his desk.

Time passed by quickly and it was almost midnight.

He couldn't help but thinking tomorrow’s meeting. He kept torturing his mind with questions to which there was no answer except for everything was going to be fine and just be nice and polite.

The time was 0200 a.m and he still couldn't sleep. He kept staring at the ceiling at a loss. He was so sleepy but he couldn't sleep at all.

He got up and he made himself a cup of hot chamomile tea so he could relax a bit. He went to the living room, he sat on the sofa and he turned the TV on. There was nothing good on except for some drama series reruns. He lied on the sofa and he decided to watch one on Asahi TV channel.

He finally managed to fell asleep after a while.

Morning came, the sun was shining bright, and the alarm went off. Akihito opened his eyes reluctantly and he sat on the sofa. He felt like he was hit by a truck but he had to forget about it and stand up! He stood up and he went to the bathroom, he took his pajamas off and he got into the bathtub to take a bath. Once he was done, he wrapped a towel around his waist and he walked towards his bedroom. He took his clothes out of the wardrobe and laid them on his bed.

He blew his hair dry, he applied a small amount of cologne on his chest and his neck and then he got dressed up. He prepared an envelope with papers that may be needed and he put it on his desk along with his cell phone and keys.

It was 1050 a.m., he realized he got some time before meeting up with that woman so he made himself a cup of tea and some pancakes to eat. It wouldn't take long for him to get there.

After finishing up, he put the plates in the dish washer and he went to his bedroom to pick up his stuff. He grabbed them and he headed towards the front door. He put his shoes on and he headed out. He took the train and by the time he got there the clock said 1145 a.m. He had 15 minutes to spare so he went inside the café, he sat down by the window so he could have a better view of the people passing by and within a few seconds the waitress showed up and asked him what he would like to order. Akihito told her that he was expecting someone so she should come back again in a while. She agreed with a smile on her face and walked away. The clock said 1200 and Akihito got all nervous as he saw a woman entering the café. “What if it’s her?” he thought to himself.

The woman walked up to him since the rest of the customers were mostly women. Akihito was becoming more nervous.

By the next day all had been figured out for where and when Mufukine was to meet the man who had called in order for a job as a tutor. As much as he knew that it was for the better, once again Ryosuke was complaining about how much of a pain it was going to be, having to spend every day or so with someone to teach him equations, word problems, and all that other stuff they were learning in school at that moment. It was a weekday, so while Mufukine was out talking to the tutor candidate, Ryosuke was in a classroom, staring out the window, bored out of his mind.

It was about 12:00 or so when Mufukine arrived at the place she was to meet Akihito, and heads inside. It was a rather nice place, and she stands still for a moment as she scans the layout of the building, trying to spot anyone who seemed to be waiting for her. A waitress steps up to her, and asks if she was looking for someone, and when she told the woman that she was there to meet with someone, she points out the table next to the window. She thanks the waitress, and heads over to where the young man was sitting. She had with her a messenger bag, and was wearing a green button up coat, with a brown shirt underneath, and a tan skirt that reached to just beneath her knees. Mid-calf white socks and brown button loafers covered her feet. Around her neck was a pale pink scarf, and perched upon her nose were a pair of light brown glasses.

She walks right up to the table, and a faint smile forms. "Might you be Kageyama, Akihito-san?" Her voice was kind, and from what she appeared, was a very homely person. "My name is Mizuo, Mufukine. I'm so glad that you agreed to meet with me to talk about the tutoring job. Thank you once again." She bows in thanks, before sitting down, setting her bag on the seat next to her. The waitress then walks over to them, asking if they would like to order anything to eat or drink. "A cup of green tea would be nice, thank you."Once both orders had been taken, the waitress walks away, and Mufukine waits for Akihito to speak.

Back at school it was finally lunch time, and Ryosuke could be found on the roof top, with his friends. Well, they were more than friends to him, they were his band mates. "So, Ryosuke, you looking forward to next practice?" A bright blonde haired individual asks. His name was Masaki Tutiya, and was completely dedicated to the band and its' success. "I know I sure am!" The one who spoke had brownish blonde hair, a red clip holding some of his bangs back, and a grin on his face. This individual was called Souta Sasaki, a complete goof ball and the prankster of the group. He was also the youngest.

In Souta's excitement, he knocks the bento out of the hands of a green eyed brunette boy sitting next to him. "Seriously Souta, look what you just did. Sometimes I wonder if you're ever not a complete buzz ball..." The rather grown up one was called Kanade Hinohara. He was indeed the most mature out of the group, and the oldest. Despite his maturity, he enjoyed being around the others. "Sometimes I wonder if he does it just to get attention. Is that it Souta-kun, do you act like this to be noticed?" Rei Ibuki, the jock of the group of 5, and one of the most popular guys in school teases at Souta. "We already have one attention hog, we don't need a second. With mister lady killer and handsome over here..." He pokes at Ryosuke, who raises an eyebrow. "Seriously dude? Come off it. We all know that Kanade is WAY more good looking."

With that comment said, they all laugh, even Kanade. Even as they were joking around and enjoying their lunch, Ryosuke couldn't help but let his mind wander to what Mufukine was doing at that moment, wondering if she was talking to that guy who had called last night. But after Rei speaks up again, he lets the thought go, and concentrates on what he was doing right at that moment, not what someone else was doing, smiling as he listened to the conversation going on around him, and chiming in every now and then.

Akihito looked at her with a broad smile on his face; he instantly felt a feeling of warmth consuming him. Her voice was gentle and that put Akihito at ease. He thanked her once again for accepting to meet him and while they were waiting for their order to arrive, he was asked about about himself and his studies as well as why he decided to apply for the tutor’s job and he told her. He didn't say that he’s been looking for a job all this time; he thought it’d be best to leave that part out.

Their order arrived and the waitress put the cups on the table wishing them to enjoy their beverages! Akihito thanked her and smiled.

He took a sip of his hot tea and he focused more on her and the young man he was supposed to tutor. “So I was told that a high school boy is looking for a tutor, could you tell me which are the subjects he needs help with?” Akihito asked. “Is he failing any classes?” “Once I am aware of the situation, I’ll be able to create a schedule for him and depending on the help he needs, we will arrange the hours as well.” “Did he have any other tutors in the past?” “No matter what’s the case, I’ll do anything in my power to help him and I’m sure he will catch up in no time” he said in a confident tone.

While explaining the whole situation to Akihito, he tried to imagine how this boy would look like. He thought that if he looked like her, he’d be a very sweet and beautiful person. Akihito was interested in beauty but not on other’s looks, the kind of beauty each one hides inside them.

He loved to observe people because he could find out a lot about them, their beauty.

He took another sip of his tea and he looked at his watch. It was 1320 p.m. "Time went by so quickly!" he thought to himself. This was when his cell rang, he excused himself and he picked up. It was his brother telling him that he needed his help for something and that it was an emergency! “I can’t right now, I’ll come over later.” he said.

Mufukine listened quietly while Akihito spoke, taking mental notes about the man, what he was like, where he'd been, everything that the male said, she stored away in her mind. All the while she didn't speak, allowing the man to make his introduction, letting the personality of Akihiko slip through. She wouldn't just allow any person tutor Ryosuke, she had to find the perfect one. And from what she saw so far, Akihito was starting to fit more and more in to that slot of necessities.

Their drinks arrive, and this time it was herself that was being asked the questions. One after another they came, and she answered every single one. "Yes, he is a high school students. As for which classes...well, all of them. So far he isn't failing any, thank goodness, but he's come close in a few of his studies. Mainly math, science, and English. Before now he's refused to have a tutor, but finally he realized he wouldn't be able to graduate without one, and agreed to allow me to find him someone to help him." She smiles warmly. "Ryo-kun can be quite a handful at times, but he's a sweet boy."

She had noticed that Akihito seemed to be calculating something, from the look in his eyes. Her eyes twinkle softly, and folds her hands around the cup of her tea, before taking a sip, sighing at the delicate and delicious flavor. Setting the cup down, she speaks up again. "If you are wanting this, we can set up a time in which you can meet Ryo-kun...?" However right as she asks this, Akihito's phone rings, and she falls silent, allowing the call to be taken, silently waiting, drinking her tea patiently.

It had indeed gotten quite late, as they'd been talking for a bit, and Mufukine knew that in about three more hours Ryosuke would be out of school for the day. Hopefully the meeting didn't take too much longer, as she had things to do at home before he got back. Pulling out a piece of paper and a pen from her bag, she writes down something.

Takafumi House

4-8-12 Siuyuko, Niawa

Tokyo 100-8994.

Also, she writes her personal phone on it as well. She slides it over to him, and once Akihito had finished his call, she speaks up again. "This is the address to the house. I thought it would be best to write it down. Not everyone knows where Ryo-kun lives, and I think it's quite best that it stays that way. And, in case you need to contact me, that is my number." Once they had decided a time when it would be best for him to come over, she stands up, bowing once again. "Thank you for your time. I look forward to your visit. I must be heading back, it takes about an hour by train to get there" Again, thank you." She smiles, and turns away, leaving the café, and heads back home, to ready the arrival of Ryosuke.

From what she'd done, it was quite obvious that she was hiring Akihito, and she hoped that the man knew this. Sitting on the train, she smiles to herself, glad she'd found the perfect tutor for Ryosuke. She only hoped that the boy would accept the other male, as he knew how hard headed and stubborn he could be. She remembered all too well on how he had acted when she started taking over as his care taker, but after a while he had warmed up to her, and they got along quite well. He once had even told her he thought of her as a big sister.

Akihito kept listening to her and he became more and more interested in tutoring the boy.

He really liked the way she talked about him. She must really love him, he thought.

“Like I said earlier, I’ll make the impossible, a possibility. I know how stressful and demanding high school can be.”

Akihito saw her enjoying her tea and he couldn’t help but remarking on how delicious this tea was.

He loved tea himself and the way it was made in this café was one of the reasons he wanted to meet her there.

“I’m so sorry about this. My brother really knows how to interrupt even when absent!”

“I heard what you said and I’m totally on board. I would love to meet Ryo-kun in person.”

“I think it’d be best to hear what he has to say as well and it’s a chance to get to know each other better.”

“I understand, please don’t worry. The address will remain a secret.”

Akihito found himself wondering about it as it seemed kind of suspicious.

“What up with all the secrecy? ” he asked himself.

He bowed back and thanked her for giving him this opportunity and he reassured her that he will do his best.

As he was watching her leave, he sat down to finish his tea in a hurry as he himself had a few things to take care of. After finishing his tea, he got up and he headed to the train station.

He got to the train station and while waiting for the train, the secrecy thing emerged again and his mind traveled in light speed and the deeper he was immersing himself in his thoughts, the more worried he would become. The woman was absolute about the location remained a secret. His train of thought suddenly got interrupted by the train arriving, he entered the doors and he found a seat next to a guy who was taking a nap.

“A yakuza son?” he thought. He wasn't the scaredy cat type of guy, he just longed for some peace and quiet. If he got involved with them, who knows what would happen next?

After a few stops, he arrives at his destination. He got off the train and he started walking towards the exit. He stopped by a vending machine to buy a bottle of water. He waited for a few seconds but the bottle was stuck so he slightly shook the machine and the bottle came out. He took a sip or two and he continued walking.

He finally got home. He unlocked the door and he took his shoes off.

He put his stuff on the living room table and he sat on the sofa.

He let a big sigh out and he lied down. He tried to convince himself that there was nothing for him to worry about and that everything would be fine.

His cell started ringing. He stretched his arm and he grabbed it, he checked the caller ID and it was his brother again. He answered the call “Subaru? What is it?”

The voice on the other end of the line sounded a bit upset.

“You forgot about me! You never called back!”

“I just couldn't, I was being interviewed for a job!” he didn't mean to tell him that, it just slipped!

“A job?””You got hired?” “I am so happy for you, brother!” the once upset voice got all cheery!

“Why don’t you come to tell us about it?” “Our parents would love to see you”.

“Mom will cook your favorite dish, you still love mom’s gyudon, right? “

Truth be told he loved his mother’s gyudon as well as all of her dishes. He could taste her love and warmth in every bite. He couldn't miss that besides he wanted to see his parents, he has been missing them. “Alright, I’ll be there in an hour”. He said.

“Good boy!”

“You better watch it!” he said angry.

“OK, OK, I’ll watch it!” “Bye!”

He hung up and he went to take a bath. Once he was done, he got out of the bathtub, he wrapped a towel around his waist and he went straight to his wardrobe. Since it was a family dinner, he chose a pair of skinny black jeans, a t-shirt, a shirt and a pair of converse sneakers.

He blew his hair dry and he sprayed a small amount of cologne on his neck and he got dressed.

He looked himself in the mirror and he thought that this kind of clothes made him look like a different person but he couldn't do otherwise. Wearing formal clothing all the time wasn't an option.

He was still very young for that! He headed to the living room, he grabbed his cell phone and keys and he stood in the hallway, he put his shoes on, he opened the door and he locked it before leaving.

By the time that Mufukine arrived back at the house, it was nearly time for Ryosuke to be finishing up with his last class of the day, before returning back to the house. She hadn't texted the boy about the interview, as she had decided to tell him with her own words how it had went, thinking that would be the best way to do so. Sometimes through messages on a phone, things could be read or taken the wrong way, and what was supposed to be good could go south.

She was working on dinner when she heard the front door open, and calls out to Ryosuke. "Ryo-kun, come to the kitchen after you put your things away, there is something I want to tell you." A muffled reply could be heard, before footsteps make their way up the stairs, where Ryosuke's room was. Well, on the third floor that is. He was in a slightly foul mood at that moment, he'd gotten a test back from a few days ago, and...his score wasn't exactly what he'd hoped it would be. Thankfully the grade wasn't failing, but it definitely wasn't something to be proud of, that was for sure.

After putting his textbooks and notebooks on his desk, and arranging his utensils for studying later, he retreats back down the steps, heading to the kitchen where Mufukine was waiting for him, apparently there was something she wanted to tell him. It had better be some good news, or he was going to be even more cranky than he already was. Entering the room, the brunette woman hands him a glass of soda, and motions for him to sit at the small corner table. They had an actual dining room, but this table was the most used, since it was just him and Mufukine most of the time eating in that huge house.

"So? What is it you wanted to tell me?" Ryosuke asks, taking a sip from his glass, enjoying the flavor of one of his favorite drinks; green apple soda.

"Well, you remember that man who called last night?"

"Yeah, what about him?"

"I met with him today, and we talked about the tutoring job." She got a bright smile on her lips, and she was getting the look on her face when she was really happy. Light pink cheeks, sparkling eyes.

"And?" Ryosuke prods, raising an eyebrow at Mufukine's enthusiasm.

"I think he's perfect for the job. He's really nice, and I think you'll get along really well with him. So, we decided on a date later this week for him to come over and visit! I'm already giving him the job. I'm sure you will like him. Isn't that great? I found you a tutor!"

"Yeah...great. Thanks Mufukine."

He gets up from the table with the glass of soda still in his hand, and gives her a half hearted wave, before exiting the kitchen, and heading back to his room; leaving a slightly confused Mufukine standing in the middle of the kitchen floor, wondering if Ryosuke was at least a little excited from her success. With a sigh, she just shakes her head and continues cooking.

In his room, Ryosuke takes off his clothes, staring at his reflection in the mirror. A thin, slim body met his eyes, one might call him too skinny. Slender, with no visible muscle for the most part, he was the visage of the ideal model, especially for gothic or punk, as well as fit the image of a rocker body. Piercings could be seen, as well as tattoos. Ryosuke sighs, giving his mirror image a disgusted look, before heading into the bathroom that was connected to his bedroom, and getting in the shower, deciding it might be a good thing to just relax under the hot water.

He knew that supper would be ready soon, but right now he just wanted to wash away the disappointment he felt towards himself, washing away the foul mood he was in, and come out refreshed. It was something he did often, and for the most part, this method of his helped. His mind wandered as he let the water run over him, wondering just what this person was like, knowing that very little people could impress Mufukine, especially when it came to him, Ryosuke. She was really protective of him, for more than one reason.

Akihito headed to the bus station. He rarely took the bus but the situation demanded it.

He took his portable mp3 player out of his pocket and he put his earphones on.

His playlist varied from classical to rock, he wasn't really fond of rock when he was younger but let’s just say that his brother initiated him into it. His brother has been a great influence on his life even though he is 6 years younger than him. He shuffled his playlist and his favorite song was on. “Rose Cross” by a rock band named Yukashi. The bus finally arrived and stopped right in front of him. Akihito got on the bus and since it was full, he picked up a ticket and he found himself a small spot near a window. He really hated it when that happened.

Engrossed in the songs he was listening to. He knew the lyrics by heart but he always wished he learned how to play the melody. A few more songs followed after he finally hit the stop button. The bus stopped, he put his ticket to a box next to the driver and he got off. He took his earphones off and turned off his mp3 player. His mother was always against her children listening to music while they were outdoors like in the street for example. She would scold him even at this age if she happened to see it. Akihito was almost near his parents’ house when 3 girls passed by him and they stopped to ask for the time. He noticed that 1 of the girls was wearing a watch and all 3 had their cell straps hanging out of their jacket pockets but he still answered them. They thanked him and he continued walking while listening to them commenting on his looks. He knew this was a ruse so they could talk to him. He wasn't getting that type of admiration a lot but there were times like this one that were a bit awkward.

He finally got to his parents’ house. He rang the doorbell and after a few seconds the door was answered by his brother.

“Why it took you so long? I’m starving!” he said in a frustrated tone.

“Hi to you too, Subaru!”

He took of his shoes and he headed to the living room where his father was.

His father got up from his chair and he welcomed him with a hug.

“We really missed you around here, son.” “You should come over more often.”

Subaru interrupted

“He won’t be able to come over often, he got himself a job!”

“A job?” his mother popped out of the kitchen.

“Thank you very much!” he whispered to Subaru angrily

“You’re always welcome, brother.” He replied ironically.

“Tell us more about it, what are you waiting for?” his mother insisted.

“Mizuko, let the kid breathe! He will tell us all about it once we sit down for dinner.”

Akihito looked at his father relieved!

“Hey, mom, are we eating yet? I’m starving!” Subaru complained.

“So Akihito, what’s new in your life?” his father asked.

Akihito knew that whenever his father was asking that question, it only meant one thing. Have you found the one yet?

Akihito sighed and called out to his mother

“I’m coming to help you, mom!”

“Will he ever change?” a rhetorical question made by his father

“No, dad, he will never change.” Subaru answered.

He looked at Subaru giving him a sarcastic look.

“It’s good to see you mom.” Akihito said while entering the kitchen.

Her hands were wet so she stretched them out allowing him to hug her.

“Did you really come to help me or you wanted to avoid an unpleasant situation?” his mother asked raising her eyebrow.

“I’m always willing to help you, mom. What are you talking about?” he nervously chuckled

“Of course, you are, my sweet son.” “Could you chop those onions and these scallions, please?”

“Consider it done! ” he said while grabbing a knife.

Akihito knew how to cook by helping and watching his mother cooking ever since he was a kid.

His mother’s way of cooking was so calm almost peaceful. She did everything on her own pace, she never rushed things. The smell of mirin, soy sauce and sake was overwhelming. It felt like old times when Akihito would return home from school and he would find his parents laughing at something random, his mother cooking, and him being so grateful for the family he was born in.

After he did what he was asked, his mother asked him to do a few more things before dinner was served. Dinner was finally ready, Akihito and his mother put the plates on the table as well as 4 glasses and a jar filled with water. It looked so delicious that both Akihito and Subaru were drooling. Maybe that was the only thing these 2 would be in full agreement.

“Itadakimasu!” they all said and they started eating.

“It’s amazing, ma! I’ll have seconds!” Subaru said with his mouth full.

“Delicious as always, mom.” Akihito commented.

“What about you, Gorou-san?” Mizuko said in a playful tone.

“Your dishes are always the best.” He said.

He really loved to tease his wife and he was always good at doing so.

“So son, what’s that new job you got?” Gorou asked looking at Akihito.

“Well…It’s a tutor’s job, I’ll be tutoring a high school boy named Ryosuke.”

“Ryosuke? High school? “ Subaru thought about it for a bit and then he asked Akihito.

“Do you know the name of the school he goes to?” Subaru became persistent.

“I didn't ask so I wasn't told. “Akihito said.

“Why you ask anyway?” “Is it about a friend of yours?” Akihito asked.

Subaru tried to change the subject and he answered with a question.

“Tutoring, huh? I expected something better from my big brother.”

Akihito just ignored him and he continued eating.

“Aren't you two tired of bickering all the time?” Gorou scolded them.

“Congratulations on your new job, my son.””We’re very proud of you.” Mizuko said cheerfully.

“Congratulations, son.” “Good luck with it.” Gorou said.

Gorou wasn't the kind of person who was good at talking but his sons knew that he was going to be always there for them.

“Thank you, mom, dad. ” Akihito answered and smiled.

It was around 2300 and Akihito decided to head home. He could barely catch the last bus home.

After saying goodbye to his family, he walked towards the bus station. The bus was about to stop so Akihito run as fast as he could in order to catch it. He barely made it. He got on the bus, he picked up a ticket and he sat on a seat close to the bus driver. He once again took his mp3 player out of his pocket and he put his earphones on. He shuffled his playlist a few times. “Midnight” by Circus was on. It was one of his brother’s new suggestions. He didn't get the chance to listen to it so he let it play. A few songs and a few stops later, he finally got home feeling very tired. He hit the stop button, he put the ticket in the box near the driver and he got off the bus. He was finally home.

He unlocked the door, he took his shoes off and he headed straight to his bedroom. He took his clothes off, he grabbed the bottom of his pajamas and he put it on. He then lied on his bed and fell asleep.

He was rinsing the shampoo out of his hair by the time he heard Mufukine's voice outside of his bedroom door, calling in to him that it was time to eat. Telling her that he would be down in a few minutes, he turns off the faucet and steps out of the shower, pulling a dry towel off of the rack where twelve or so big fluffy towels of assorted red, white, black, and grey were folded and stacked for his use. Wrapping it around his waist after damp drying his hair, he exits the bathroom, and heads over to his closet, picking out a simple pair of black shorts and a dark red t-shirt. Putting them on the bed, he finishes drying off before getting dressed.

Like he'd told Mufukine, it didn't take too long to get done, and he was downstairs in the kitchen once again, sitting across from her at the table. The meal, as usual, looked delicious; something he'd always liked about Mufukine was how good she could cook. He thanks her for the food before beginning to eat, and after a few minutes of silence and food enjoyment, Mufukine speaks up.

"So, how was school today?" She asks, looking at Ryosuke, who was poking at his vegetables.

"Did you really have to ask that?" Ryosuke mumbles, now jabbing at a mushroom.

"Yes, I did. I like to know what goes on in your life at that school. Tell me, learn anything new?""Maybe...Maybe not." A frown was beginning to form on his lips, and his sour attitude from before was starting to come back. Mufukine could tell this, and sets her chop sticks down, now focusing entirely on Ryosuke.

"Ryosuke, did something happen at school?" There was worry not only in her voice, but her eyes as well. A sigh escapes his lips, but he doesn't answer. "Please, tell me. Did you get in trouble? Did someone pick on you? Did something happen?" Ryosuke suddenly slams his chopsticks down on the table, splintering one and breaking the other. Mufukine jumps slightly, shocked by the sudden outburst.

"Nothing happened, okay?!? Could you please stop asking so many damn questions? I got a bad score on my test, in a class that I thought I was doing half way good in. There, you know what happened to day."

He suddenly loses his appetite and excuses himself from the table, telling Mufukine he was going to bed, and heads to his room. A hurt look was the last expression he saw on her face before he left the kitchen, and as he trudged up the steps and entered his room, closing the door behind him, he felt a jerk of guilt deep in his gut. He hated seeing that look on her face, or anything like it. Sad, disappointed... Even though she wasn't his mother, she had always been there for him like one, as his own was no longer in his life.

Mufukine shakes her head softly before cleaning up after dinner, and then heads to her own room, getting ready for bed, making notes and writing things on her calendar, as well as writing some other things down in a notebook. For a little while she reads a book, until it was late, before turning in for the night, hoping that Ryosuke would be in a better mood the next morning. Like she'd taught the teenager, tomorrow is always a new day, make the most of it. You might end up having the best day of your life. And after this, she falls asleep, knowing everything would be okay.

Flicking off the light, Ryosuke flops on to the bed, and closes his eyes, taking a deep calming breath. Tomorrow was a new day. He'd apologize for yelling at Mufukine, and then...maybe things would get better. This kind of attitude was not normal for him, usual he was care free and happy-go-lucky, smiling all the time...but even though that as what people saw from him, it wasn't him either. No, who he truly was deep inside was a secret from everyone, and at times...Ryosuke even forgets who he really is.

Turning on his side, he drifts off to sleep, his dreams plagued with that of Ichisei Private School, being stuck in a never ending testing room, always getting scores back with Failing grades, the other students laughing at him and pointing, calling him names; his band mates leaving him, saying they couldn't be with someone as stupid as he was. and the sad eyes of Mufukine painted all around him on the windows and walls.

Morning came and the sun beams pierced through the curtain attacking Akihito’s face.

Akihito covered his eyes with his hand and laid on his back for a while.

He wondered what time it was so he stretched his arm out and he grabbed his watch that was lying on his nightstand. The watch said 1200 a.m. He mustered up his strength and he got out of his bed. He wasn't the morning type at all. He went to the bathroom, he washed his face, he brushed his teeth and he headed to the kitchen. He poured some water into a teapot, he turned the hob on and he put the teapot on top of it. He opened his fridge and he picked up 2 eggs and a plate with 2 slices of bacon on it. The whistle of the teapot made him move faster. He opened his cupboard and he grabbed a mug and a tea bag, he placed the mug on the table and he dropped the tea bag in it. He then turned around and he grabbed the teapot, he carefully poured the hot water inside the mug. He had to wait for three minutes like the instructions suggested. Three minutes passed and now he was able to enjoy his tea. He grabbed a spoon and he removed the tea bag and he tossed it in the trash and the placed the spoon in the sink. After the eggs and bacon reached home temperature he heat up a skillet, he poured a tiny amount of vegetable oil into it and he cracked the eggs placing the yolks and egg white carefully on the skillet. He added some salt and pepper and then he started chopping the bacon. After the eggs were half done, he added the chopped bacon. He was waiting for the eggs to be done and the bacon to become crispy. He opened one of his drawers and he grabbed a spatula. He picked the eggs and bacon up and with the spatula’s help and he put it on his plate. He turned the hob off and he sat down. He was finally ready to enjoy his late breakfast.

The moment he touched his fork his cell started to ring.

“Tch.” He got up and he headed to the living room. He picked up his cell and much to his surprise it was Subaru calling. “Isn't he supposed to be at school?” he thought. He answered and a cheery Subaru said “Good morning brother! “

“It’s passed 1200, it’s not morning anymore.” Akihito replied.

“Yeah, anyway. I was wondering if you could spend a few hours with me and the guys.” Subaru got interrupted

“Why would I do that?” Akihito asked

“Cause I bet you have nothing better to do, it’s not like you have plans or anything.” Subaru answered with a hint of irony in his voice and he went on.

“We are going to practice a new song for the cultural festival and I want you to be here to listen to our rehearsal. ””The guys will be delighted to see you as well, so come.””You know how much your opinion means to me.””So are you coming, brother?” Subaru asked in a serious tone.

Akihito knew that was true, ever since his brother started Mejika, his rock band, he would always ask of Akihito’s opinion, his approval really mattered to Subaru. Ever since their childhood, music was a major part of their lives. Akihito was talked into taking piano lessons. He didn't want it at first but after a few lessons, piano was all he talked about. When his brother was born, he could play lullabies to him to sleep. Subaru has no recollection of it but Akihito never forgot. When he graduated from high school, he stopped taking piano lessons due to him being busy with university but he never forgot the tranquility and peace of mind this instrument offered him. When Subaru was 7 years old he was asked by Mizuko if he would like to learn how to play an instrument and his answer was ok. One day, Mizuko and Subaru were passing by a musical instruments shop. Subaru looked at the shop’s window in awe. He was mesmerized by a red drum set, he rushed in at once and he told his mother to hurry and come. Subaru looked at her and then he looked at the drum set and it was then that he decided that he wanted to learn how to play the drums. His mother looked at him puzzled. It wasn't what she had in mind for him but she accepted his choice and they bought the drum set. Subaru was a fast learner and his teacher was proud of him. After Subaru entered high school, he had the idea of starting a band on his own so he told his childhood friends and brothers Naoya and Tomoya about it. They agreed with him and they started having fun with it and they all enjoyed working together. Soon everyone at school knew about them and they even had fans showering them with compliments and gifts, girls mostly.

“I’ll be there in an hour, ok?” Akihito said.

“I knew you would do the right thing.” Subaru said and he hung up.

Akihito finished his breakfast fast and he rushed to the shower.

He took a shower and when he got out of the bathtub, he wrapped a towel around his waist and he headed towards his bedroom. He made his bed and he opened his wardrobe.

He grabbed a pair of skinny black jeans and a black t-shirt. His converse sneakers were waiting for him at the front door. He sprayed a small amount of cologne on his neck and he got dressed.

He then rushed to the door, he wore his shoes, he grabbed his cell phone and keys and he left after locking the door behind him.

The school wasn't far from his house so he decided to go there on foot. He knew the school like the back of his hand because he was a student there too.

He kept walking on the sidewalk thinking about the festival. It was a special day for every student, from nursery school to university. Everyone was eager and happy to show their artistic achievements so every year all students anticipated this event with a profound joy.

“I am really curious to see what Subaru has prepared this time.” Akihito wondered.

He knew his brother as well as the other members were talented so he was sure that the outcome would be amazing. He got to the school. The rehearsal room was located at the school’s yard, after winning a national school competition; the headmaster announced that Subaru and his band will be the only ones using that particular room. There were other rehearsal rooms as well but this one was the biggest in the whole school. Students paid lots of attention to him while leaving but he continued walking towards the room. Akihito stood outside the door and he opened it.

Subaru was elated to see him as well as the other members of the band. He was no stranger to them since 2 of them were Subaru’s friends ever since childhood. The fourth and final member of the band Masahiro joined the band 6 months after the band was formed. He was a transferred student from a music school in Nagoya. He answered to an ad Subaru had posted on some ads site and he contacted him, he was surprised to see that they were classmates which definitely made things easier. Masahiro knew how to play the drums excellent and that was what the band needed since Subaru was the singer of the group. He soon got to know them all and they've been best friends ever since.

“Akihito! You came, I’m so happy to finally see you again!” Naoya said all cheery.

“OH! It’s such a pleasure to see you again, what’s up?” Tomoya asked with a broad smile on his face.

“Akihito is always a pleasure to see you.” Masahiro said in a formal way.

He was always like that so Akihito didn't mind; he could actually be good friends with him because according to him, Masahiro and he were on the same wave length.

“See brother? You've been seriously missed around here!” Subaru said grinning.

“It’s nice to you guys, I’m sorry for not being in touch, between university and finding a job, I got lost!” Akihito said apologetically.

“It’s alright, don’t worry about it. We’re happy you’re here now.” Tomoya said.

“OK, so let’s rock my brother’s world! Shall we?” Subaru yelled with excitement.

“Yosh!!” they all shouted.

They started rehearsing their new song, Blooming. Akihito saw their music sheets and that name appeared to be the title of the song. Akihito sat on a chair and he relaxed while enjoying the music. He would occasionally hear his brother instructing Naoya and Tomoya, guitar and bass respectively. It was fun to see them working together and producing such a wonderful music. They all worked harmoniously together and that showed. Blooming was a song about people with great ambitions and their desire to reach the top even if they were struggling against all odds. It was about people who would achieve any goal they had set. That was his brother; he really expressed himself through his music. This was the real Subaru. After they were done rehearsing, Akihito stood up and clapped. “It’s really beautiful, I’m sure everyone will love it.” He remarked.

“Really? You really think so, brother?” Subaru asked nervously.

“Of course, my world was rocked and I’m sure the audience’s world will be too.”Akihito said smiling.

After a while, Akihito, Tomoya and Subaru started talking about the festival and the performance, they were very excited about it. Naoya was zipping his guitar case when the door opened.

A brunette girl walked in and looked around like she was searching for something. She greeted them and she walked straight to were Masahiro was, she found what she was looking for.

“Who’s she?” Akihito asked.

“A pain in the butt.” Tomoya whispered angrily.

“What do you mean?” Akihito got curious.

“She is Moyazaki Hiromi, classmate, stupid even though she is a brunette.” Subaru whispered back and continued.

“She is like obsessed with Masahiro and she tries to make him like her. It’s really annoying cause he doesn't like her at all and he has turned her down like tons of time but she insists.”

“I see. Why doesn't he ignore her or avoid her?” Akihito suggested.

“Masahiro is like the nicest person ever, he wouldn't be rude to anyone.” Tomoya said.

“Good luck.” Akihito said.

While Masahiro and Hiromi were talking, Naoya told Tomoya that he was going to the toilet and that he’d be right back. On his way out, he passed by Masahiro and he bumped against him forcefully. Masahiro looked at him and he saw him giving him a scary look. Naoya was a happy-go-lucky guy, he never did such things. Naoya run outside and Masahiro did as well.

Naoya entered the boy’s toilet and Masahiro followed.

“What’s wrong with you?” Masahiro asked him with a worried look.

“None of your business.” Naoya replied angry.

“Since when?” Masahiro asked in a demanding way.

Naoya tried to leave but Masahiro hit his hand on the toilet door Naoya was standing in front of keeping him from leaving.

Naoya lowered his head and Masahiro apologized.

Naoya kept his head lowered and he grabbed Masahiro’s sleeve.

“Let’s go back, ok?” Naoya suggested.

“Sure.” Masahiro agreed smiling.

The two of them got back and Hiromi was already gone.

“Where have you two been?” Subaru asked.

“Toilet.” Masahiro replied.

“Let’s call it a day and let’s go grab a bite.” Subaru suggested.

“I’m in.” Tomoya agreed.

“Count me in.” Masahiro said.

“I’m coming too.” Naoya said looking at Masahiro.

“Brother? You’re coming with us, right?” Subaru asked anticipating a positive response.

“Uhm.” Akihito seemed to be thinking about it.

“Ok, you’re coming.” Subaru said dead-serious.

Akihito knew he couldn't escape so he agreed to join them.

“How about burgers and fries?” Tomoya recommended.

They all agreed, they put their instruments in their cases and Subaru locked them in a closet. They left after locking the door behind.

School was already over so they headed to Tom’s Burger, rumor has it that they made the most delicious Japanese-style burger in the whole Tokyo!

As usual, the day that followed the evening was one of boring monotony, and never ending lessons, or that was how it was for Ryosuke anyways. Each class that followed the first seemed to be even longer, and by the time school got out for that day it felt as if he'd died and was walking around like a zombie, barely even functioning in what he was doing. His feet were automatically taking him where he was going, and next thing he knew was he was standing outside the school, book bag in his hand and his four friends walking next to him, heading down the front walk that led up to the building, and towards the gate that led to the street.

"I'm like, so stoked for todays practice!" Souta exclaims, jumping up and down all around the five, laughing a bit as he jumped high in the air, kicking his heels together and throwing his hands up, pumping the air with his fists.

"Souta, calm down. You're going to give me a headache." Kanade groans, though he was grinning when he says this, obviously amused by the youngest band member's enthusiasm.

"How can I calm down when I've been waiting FOREVER for this day to come?! Gosh, you should show a little bit of excitement too, you know?"

"Yeah Kanade, show some joy in the fact you get to spend the entire evening with us. That and we get to work on our music, we need to perfect the song we're working on for the festival. You do remember we're going up against other schools..." Masaki replies, smiling.

"I think it's the fact that he DOES have to spend time with us all evening is why he's acting like this. Wouldn't you agree, Kan-kun?" Rei teases the older male, who just rolls his eyes. "Hey, Ryo-kun, you alright dude? You look a bit spaced out..."

"Huh? No, I'm fine Rei. Just was thinking that's all."

"Oh...well, alright."

Only then, when they were at least fifty feet away from the building that Ryosuke was beginning to hate so much, did he show some sort of recognition as to what was going on around him. He remembered that the band was having a meeting at the place that Rei's family owned, to practice some songs, and to pretty much get together and hang out. It wasn't too far of a walk to the building in which they were to be working on their music, and fortunately it was located really close to a really awesome burger place, where they'd go after practice. It was called Tom's Burger, and was known for the most best made burgers in all of Tokyo, and well, Japan itself.

After ten minutes or so they reach the building, a brick three story place with a huge garage, which they go into via the side door. Rei's drums were already set up, and in the corner were the other member's equipment. It didn't take long to set up, and soon enough they had begun jamming, loud as heck and not caring at all about the noise they were making. Besides, one of the biggest reasons why Tom's Burgers got such a high rate of customers was this rare event when the people got to hear the music that was coming from the building three doors down.

All five of them got into it, letting their spirits go wild, Ryosuke pouring out his frustration through the words that he sang and the chords that he played on his guitar. They were all in perfect sync, as always. It was said that these five were the best match in a group there could be, in exception to a few other bands besides them, but still. National fame or not, they were great sounding, and they had fun, and that was all that mattered. To the boys anyways.

Music reverberated around them and the brick building, and people within a block could hear what was going on, some pausing to listen, and lots of high school and junior high girls started jumping up and down as they listened to the music that was being played. For the most part, 'Danger Zone' was most liked by teenagers between junior and college school ages, of both genders, but the most popularity of the members of the band itself was junior high and high school girls. However, there were the few older people who enjoyed their music, and that was quite alright.

Back at the house, managing things there, Mufukine wonders how Ryosuke's day went at school, and hoped that it had went better than the day before. Seeing him in such a frustrated state of mind made her feel bad for him, and as much as it hurt her when he yelled at her and got mad, she was more worried about how this was effecting the boy, rather than herself. She had made a promise to the teen's mother that she would do what ever it took to keep Ryosuke happy, and to never allow his days to drag his mood down, and having him act like this made her feel as if she was failing at her promise.

Honestly she hoped that she'd made the right choice in hiring Akihito as Ryosuke's tutor, but there was no way she was going back on her choice at that point. She'd stick with it and see what happened, hoping for the best. With fingers crossed, Mufukine could only pray that things were going to turn around once Akihito and Ryosuke started working together. As she worked in the kitchen, making extra for the others she knew were coming along home with Ryosuke after the band's practice, she sighs, listening to music playing on a radio, and funnily enough one of 'Danger Zone's' songs started playing, titled 'Forever and Eternity.'

They waited at the bus station for the bus to arrive. Subaru and Masahiro were discussing a few details regarding the arrangement of the songs; Tomoya and Naoya were playing a game on Naoya’s cell phone. Akihito stood near the bench Naoya and Tomoya were sitting and amongst their giggling and the street traffic, he found comfort in thinking that his tutoring would officially start tomorrow. He would finally get to meet his student and hopefully he would find out about that secrecy regarding him.

The bus arrived and they got on, they all picked up their tickets but only 4 seats were available.

They walked towards the seats and Naoya took the initiative to sit first.

Masahiro was walking behind him and Tomoya was behind Masahiro, the latter suggested Masahiro sat next to Naoya, 2 seats were available next to them so Subaru and Tomoya sat down. Akihito didn’t mind standing up. He took his cell phone out of his pocket and he checked his e-mails. Subaru saw him and he asked in a very nosy way.

“She said she’d text you?”

“Huh?” Akihito asked puzzled.

“Nevermind.” Subaru replied.

“Masahiro?” Naoya said.

“What?” he replied.

“I’m sorry about before. I don’t know what got into me.”Naoya said apologetically.

“It’s ok, don’t sweat it.”Masahiro replied and he patted his head.

“If something bothers you, you can always talk to me.”He continued.

Naoya’s eyes lighten up and he smiled.

“I will.” He said turning his head right looking outside the window.

“I suggest we do it like this, I think it’s better that way.” Subaru suggested

“I don’t think so. Why change the order?” Tomoya disagreed.

“Here we are.” Akihito said and he hit the stop button.

They all got up, they put the tickets in the box that was near the driver and got off.

“I’m starving!” Subaru complained.

“Aren’t you always?” Akihito joked.

They all laughed except for Subaru who was death staring at Akihito.

“Don’t give me that look, you had it coming!” Akihito said smirking.

They stood outside the shop and as they were about to enter Akihito heard music and someone singing.

“You guys hear that? Sounds like a band is playing somewhere around here.” Tomoya said.

“Yeah, I’ve listened to them a few times before.” Masahiro replied.

“People seem to like them a lot.” He continued.

“Who wouldn’t? Their music is great.” Akihito commented.

The 4 of them went ahead but Akihito just stood there for a while to listen to them.

He was taken aback by the sadness and loneliness in that boy’s voice. The music only added to the intensity of that feeling. He felt his heart pounding faster to every word he heard.

“Are you coming or not?” Subaru asked.

Akihito got startled and he just nodded.

“Is everything aright? You don’t look so good.” Tomoya asked him.

“It’s nothing, I’m fine.” Akihito replied.

They sat down and the waitress walked towards their table.

Are you ready to order?” she asked.

“5 hamburgers, fries and 5 bottles of water, please.” Masahiro answered.

“Thank you.” The waitress said smiling.

They all started talking but Akihito. He found himself zoning out as he kept replaying the song he listened to a bit ago in his mind.

“Hey, brother, the hamburgers are here. Are you listening?” Subaru said and shook him a bit.

Akihito suddenly snapped out of it and he looked at Subaru.

“The hamburgers are here.” “Are you feeling alright?” he asked worried.

“Everything is fine, let’s eat.” Akihito said.

After they finished their meal they decided to go to a karaoke bar and then they would call it a night since it was a school day tomorrow plus they had to practice.

The nearest karaoke bar was a few blocks down and this was where they were heading.

“Finally, it’s time for others to sing except for you, Subaru.” Tomoya joked.

“Haha, very cute, Tomo, very cute.” Subaru replied obviously a bit annoyed.

“Which song do you want to sing?, Naoya.” Masahiro asked.

“One that is sung by two people.” Naoya replied blushing a bit.

“You mean a duet?” Masahiro asked.

“Yes, with you if you don’t mind.” Naoya replied avoiding eye contact.

“OK, let’s beat them!” Masahiro said and he patted Naoya’s shoulder.

They arrived at the bar, they went inside and they asked to rent a karaoke box.

A young woman showed them the way to the room and she left after wishing them a great time.

Subaru and Tomoya went straight to where the song playlist catalogue was and they started browsing it.

Akihito sat on the couch, watching his brother and Tomoya fighting over who was gonna sing first.

“Have you thought of a song?” Masahiro asked Naoya

“Do you have any favorites?” Naoya replied with a question.

“My mind went blank.” He said and laughed.

“It’s ok, I know which song we will sing. It’s not a duet but we can turn into one.” Naoya replied determined.

“You do? Tell me.” Masahiro sounded excited.

“It’s not your style but …. It’s Last Snow by Kaya.” Naoya said.

Naoya couldn’t believe he was actually gonna do this but it was a now or never situation for him.

“It’s a ballad.” He continued.

“I don’t mind. I have heard of this song on the radio once and it was beautiful.” Masahiro said.

“Can we start first?” Masahiro asked.

“Yes, go for it.” Tomoya said before Subaru could say a word.

“Alright then.” Naoya said.

Naoya has never felt this nervous in his life. It wasn’t really about singing, he had a nice voice.

Masahiro set the song and it started playing.

“You go first.” Naoya said.

“OK.” Masahiro nodded.

They started singing and Naoya’s voice trembled a bit.

Tomoya looked at him as if he was doing a big mistake.

“A song about unrequited love in front of everyone? Is he insane?” He thought to himself.

“They’re really good, no?” Subaru said.

“Too good, I guess your position as the singer of the group is in danger.” Akihito teased him.

Subaru pouted and he looked the other way.

“What’s with them tonight?” Subaru wondered.

The song was almost done and it was Naoya’s turn. He looked deep in Masahiro’s eyes and he sang.It felt like they were alone in the room, Naoya’s voice dominated it and Masahiro couldn’t take his eyes off of him, he was dazzled by the passion and intensity he put in the lyrics.

The song ended and everyone cheered on them commenting about how great their voices were.

More songs followed and more bickering between Subaru and Tomoya .

It was almost 2200 p.m. and they left the bar. Akihito was sleepy, Subaru was angry because he didn’t sing all the songs he wanted, Tomoya couldn’t believe what his brother did, Naoya’s heart was pounding so fast he thought it would break and Masahiro couldn’t help but thinking the way Naoya was looking at him during the song.

They all took the bus home and they got off before the last stop. They all lived in the same neighborhood. They walked Naoya and Tomoya home, then Masahiro and then they got outside their parents’ house.

“Wanna spend the night here?” Subaru asked.

“Sure, I’m exhausted. I need to sleep.” Akihito said yawning.

By the time they'd finished practice, tired out by the intensity of how hard they'd played their instruments and sung their hearts to full volume, it was very late, and the restaurant was closing for the evening. They all looked at each other as they stood in front of the closed door, before just cracking up in smiles and laughing. All of them knew what was going to happen now, as this wasn't the first time they had gone over their practice time.

"Well looks like you're gonna have to let us come over and eat dinner with you Ryosuke!"

"Yes, I definitely look forward to Mufukine-san's cooking. Everything she makes is so delicious."

"You guys are hopeless. Though I have to admit, I have missed Mizuo-sama's delicacies. She's an excellent cook for sure."

"Not to mention very pretty, isn't that right Kan-kun?" Rei teases Kanade, who just punched his shoulder, making him wince slightly. Kanade might not look it, but he was actually quite strong for his slim size.

"You know, all four of you are pathetic...But you're my friends, that's why I deal with it." Ryosuke smiles at them, and they grin back.

Turning in sync, they all head the other way, knowing that a car was waiting for them, and sure enough an expensive looking black car, which turned out to be a very short limo, was parked on the corner of where the brick building was. They pile in, Ryosuke, Rei and and Masaki sitting across from Kanade and Souta. Once they were settled down, the driver starts the car and they head towards Ryosuke's house. It would take about thirty minutes by driving, and the entire time the five of them simply joked around with each other, listened to music, and had a fun time.

Arriving at the house, they get out, thank the driver for the ride, and go inside, Mufukine at the door to greet them. She had a bright smile on her face, happy to see that Ryosuke's friends were all looking healthy and well.

"It's nice to see you all again!"

"Hey hi Mufu-chan!" Souta exclaims, hugging Mufukine, who chuckles softly and simply hugs him back.

"Hello Mufukine-san. How are you this evening?" Masaki speaks up, while taking off his jacket.

"I'm doing quite well. And you?"

"I'm good thank you for asking."

"Greetings Mizuo-sama. Thank you for allowing us to come and stay for the night and partake in your cooking." A slightly blushing Kanade greeted Mufukine who smiles.

"It's no problem Kanade-kun, I've told you several time before, please call me Mufukine."

"Um, alright..." The others were laughing at him behind their hands, and Ryosuke was rolling his eyes, unamused by how Kanade was acting around Mufukine.

"Someone's blushing..." Rei pokes Kanade, who slaps his hand away.

"Well, it is getting late, would you boys like to eat?" Mufukine was amused by the group standing before her.

"YES PLEASE!" They all exclaim at once, before following Mufukine to the actual dining room, where dinner was set up.

As usual, like every other time before that, the food looked magnificent and tasted just as good. Before too long it was all gone, and they were thanking Mufukine for the fine meal, before leaving the room and heading upstairs, towards the huge room on the second floor where they all stayed whenever they spend the night. Five beds were in the room, one a different color, with a set of drawers set opposite them on the wall, and a nightstand right next to the bed. Each was color coordinated, so there was a red bed with a fire design, a red lamp and on the dresser was different types of red accessories, including buttons, pins, and scarves. This belonged to Souta. A purple bed with a swirled design, a purple lava lamp, and on the dresser across from it were different styles of eye patches, belts, and rings. This belonged to Rei. A green bed with a patchwork design, a old looking green lamp and on the dresser was a pile of hair clips, ties, a book or two, and some jewelry. This was Kanade's. Next to his was a yellow bed with a rainbow pillow and throw, with a shaggy yellow lamp, and upon that dresser was necklaces, a pile of cds, and a watch. The furthest from the door was a blue bed with the symbol for radioactive waste on it was placed, a blue lamp that glowed weirdly, and on that dresser were several different colored black, blue, and white bobby pins were placed, collar like necklaces and body jewelry galore. This part of the room belonged to Ryosuke.

Along with that individual stull was a huge TV, a gaming system and a music player. Mufukine had made sure that the room was clean before they had all arrived, so as usual it was spotless, and each of them go to their beds, but after a while Souta plops himself on Masaki's bed, who shoves him off, only to have Rei throw a pillow at him, and then they were all having a pillow fight, goofing off and having fun, music blaring in the background; this was enough to keep Ryosuke's mind off of school, unaware that tomorrow he was to be meeting Akihito tomorrow after he got home.

Subaru took his keys out of his pocket and he unlocked the door trying to be as quiet as possible since their parents were asleep.

They took their shoes off, Subaru locked the door and they headed upstairs.

Akihito was exhausted so he bid his brother good night and he went to his old bed room.

Mizuko left his old bedroom exactly how he left it; she even bought him a few pajama pairs in case he wanted to spend the night at their house.

Akihito opened the wardrobe and he grabbed the first pair of pajamas his hand touched.

He took his clothes off and he put on a pair of dark blue patterned pajamas and he lied on the bed falling fast asleep. Subaru headed to his bedroom, he changed to his pajamas and he lied on his bed as well. An hour or so passed and Subaru got out of his bed, he got outside of his room and he headed to Akihito’s room. He opened the door and approached Akihito’s bed.

“Aki.” he said poking his shoulder

“Aki.” he poked his shoulder again.

“Aki” he poked his shoulder one more time.

Akihito grabbed a teddy bear he used to play with when he was a kid and he threw it at Subaru hitting him on the head.

“Go away, I’m sleeping.” he groaned.

Subaru became persistent and he started shaking Akihito till he woke him up.

Akihito turned around, he turned the lamp that was on his nightstand on and he whispered obviously annoyed.

“What on earth is wrong with you?” he asked with a sleepy, frustrated look.

He grabbed his watch that was on his nightstand and he looked at the time.

“It’s 0300 o’ clock in the morning!” “People are supposed to be sleeping at 0300 o’ clock in the morning.” he said while looking at Subaru.

“Go to bed Subaru, I mean it.”

“ok, move aside.” he said.

“What’s going on?” Akihito asked.

“Let’s talk. We used to do that a lot, remember?” “We would just lie on your bed and talk till dawn.” he continued.

“Yeah, when we were kids.” Akihito said surprised.

“Go to bed and we will talk tomorrow.” He said.

“Is this your last word?” Subaru asked.

“Yes, now go.” Akihito replied and he turned off the lamp.

Subaru went back to his bedroom quite angry about what happened in there. He lied in his bed and closed his eyes.

A few blocks down, Naoya and Tomoya were arguing about tonight’s events.

“Are you a moron?””Do you realize how stupid this was?” Tomoya asked very angry.

“Would you keep it down?” “You wanna wake up our parents?” Naoya said and continued.

“I know what I did but I don’t believe it was stupid. I felt an urge to do it. It felt like I had to do it.”

“I just wanna tell him.””I’ve been waiting all this time.”

“Wait some more then.” Tomoya said.

“You out of all people tell me to wait some more?” “You?” Naoya was getting angry.

“How long are you willing to wait till you tell him how you feel about him?” Naoya asked.

“It’s not the same.” Tomoya lowered his head.

“How is it different then?””Subaru won’t be available forever, you know.” Naoya claimed.

“Shut up!” Tomoya demanded.

Naoya stopped arguing with him, it was pointless anyway. The two brothers were frustrated about their love lives and they usually lashed out on each other.

A few doors down, Masahiro was trying to sleep in vain. Every time he closed his eyes, he would see Naoya’s almost teary look. He got up and he walked towards his desk. He grabbed his mp3 player, he put his earphones on. Mejika’s songs always had a soothing effect on him, but not this time. He stood by the window and he looked at the moon wondering about tonight’s events.

Morning finally came and Mizuko as well as Gorou were surprised to see that Akihito spent the night there.

“Good morning, my Aki.” Mizuko said and went on.

“Are you hungry? You’ll have breakfast with us, right?” She asked him.

“Good morning mom.””Breakfast? Yes, please.” Akihito said smiling.

“Morning.” Subaru said while walking down the stairs.

“Good morning, family.” Gorou said while entering the house. He had just returned from grocery shopping.

They all sat down and Mizuko placed the plates on the table, she filled their glasses with orange juice and once she sat down they started eating. Eggs and bacon for everyone.

After they finished, both boys went upstairs to change to their clothes and leave since it was a school day for Subaru and Akihito had to return home and change to a more formal outfit.

After they got all dressed, they brushed their teeth and they headed downstairs.

“Are you joining us for lunch?” Mizuko asked with a happy look on her face.

“How about dinner?” “I’m meeting my student today.” Akihito replied.

“Dinner it is, we’ll be expecting you.” “Good luck on your first day.” Mizuko said and she patted his head.Subaru greeted his parents and Akihito and he headed to the front door to put his shoes on.

“Why don’t you walk your brother to school?” Mizuko suggested.

“He would love it.” she continued.

Before Akihito opened his mouth to talk, Mizuko shouted

“Subaru, your brother is gonna walk you to school today.”

“You better hurry.” She said to Akihito.

Akihito run to the door, he put on his shoes and he saw that Subaru was just sitting there.

“Are you ready?” he asked.

“Yeah.” Subaru replied.

They greeted their parents and they left.

On their way to school, Subaru finally got the chance to start that conversation he didn’t manage to start last night.

“About last night…” he paused.

“About last night?” Akhihito asked puzzled.

“You don’t remember anything?” Subaru said surprised.

“You’re talking about you barging into my room talking nonsense?” Akihito said.

“Nonsense?” Subaru pouted.

“I just wanted to tell you that I had fun last night and it was more fun cause you were there with us and I hope we get to do this more often, that’s all.” He said with a mix of frustration and excitement in his voice.

“It was nice, last night I mean.” Akihito said and he smiled.

Subaru’s face lighten up and he grinned.

They got outside the school’s gates and it was time their ways parted.

“Be good and pay attention to your teacher.” Akihito said

“Yes, mom.” Subaru said and laughed.

Akihito face palmed and he bid his brother goodbye.

Subaru waved his hand and he mingled with the other students.

After a few minutes of walking, Akihito got to the bus station and luckily for him the bus arrived fast.

He got on and sat next to woman who was holding a little boy.

Akihito wasn’t fond of kids but stared at the boy who reminded him of Subaru when he was little.

A few stops later and he got off the bus. He walked down the street on his way home when it dawned on him that he had run out of soil for his bonsai so he run to the nearest florist’s to buy some.

After leaving the shop, a few meters away he spotted a black kitten. He loved cats.

He went close to it, he picked it up and he petted it with care while smiling broadly.

The kitten rubbed herself on his neck and Akihito laughed because it tickled.

The kitten meowed and purred at his touch and he decided to take it home till he decided what he was gonna do about it. He couldn’t leave it on the streets. He was a few meters away from home and the kitty felt uneasy and it moved a lot. Akihito put the paper bag down and he played with the kitty for a while so she could calm down. The kitty looked him in the eyes and her face looked like she was smiling at him. Akihito picked the kitty up again and he headed home with a smitten look on his face.

He really loved cats and it always showed.

He unlocked the door to his apartment and he took his shoes off. He put the kitten on the floor as well as the bag. The kitten started sniffing around and walking around the living room. Akihito picked the kitten up and he put it on the sofa. The kitten lied down staring at Akihito who was busy preparing his messenger bag for tonight’s meeting. A few notebooks, some books and his pencil case were the things he put inside the bag and he zipped it up.

The kitty fell asleep and Akihito found himself staring at it for a while.

“Sublime creatures.” He sighed.

Cats are known for sleeping a lot so he thought he wouldn’t have a problem with it wandering in his apartment. He made a cup of instant noodles and he ate in hurry.

He had three hours left till the meeting. He went to the bathroom, he took his clothes off and he took a bath. He got out of the bathtub, he wrapped a towel around his waist and he brushed his teeth.

He then headed to his room, he opened his wardrobe and he grabbed a white shirt, a black pair of trousers, a black jacket and he laid them on the bed. He applied a small amount of cologne to his chest and neck, he got dressed and he headed to the door. He had two hours left and he knew he should hurry. He run to the living room he grabbed his messenger bag, he put his shoes on and it was then when he realized that he couldn’t leave the kitten alone. He had to think of something fast. He looked at his watch and he was relieved to see that he had time to make a stop before going to the boy’s house. Once he was ready, he took a small cage out of a cabinet and he put the kitten inside. Akihito used to have lots of pets when he was a kid and he also helped the strays of his neighborhood thus the cage.

He opened the door, he put the cage down and he locked it. He unzipped a small pocket and he tossed the keys inside. He picked the cage up and he quickly headed to the bus stop.

Once the bus arrived, he got on and he wished for the driver to drive faster.

He hit the stop button, he got off and he ran to his parent’s house.

His parents were used to Akihito bring strays home which they kept of course.

Akihito got to the house and he rang the doorbell. He had keys for his parents’ home but he had forgotten them home. His mother answered the door and she was surprised to see him.

“Hi, mom, you know what to do!” Akihito said in a hurry while handing her the cage.

Mizuko held the cage and he went inside. She definitely knew what to do. She had done it tons of times.

Akihito run to the train station, he had an hour left. He didn’t want to make a bad impression on his first day. The trained finally arrived and Akihito got on. After many stops and lots of anxiety, he got off the train and he headed to the exit. He literally run as fast as he could till he finally got to the boy’s house. He stood there for a while to catch his breath. While standing there he took a better look of the house and he realized that it was quite big. Once he could breathe normally again, he rang the doorbell and he was waiting for someone to answer the door.

The next morning began with a hectic start. Having five teenage boys attempt to get ready for school all at once was not a pretty sight, that was for sure, but it was obtainable. After having done so before, it was a routing thing that happened at the Takafumi residency, and it was definitely something to keep Mufukine on her toes, making breakfast for them all, as well as a lunch for each of them, something different for each individual boy. Souta had allergies, Rei was particular on how his eggs were cooked, Masaki was vegetarian and Kanade...well, Kanade didn't mind what his lunch was.

Writing a note for Ryosuke's teacher, she waves them off as they leave for school, the same mini-limo that had brought them to the house taking them to the school. With that dealt with, she then tackles the chores inside, trying to get the house in decent condition, even though it was nearly already perfect. She made sure that everything was in it's place, and while she cleans, makes sure that she has something to eat made and ready for when Akihito came over. Time definitely seemed to fly by, and before she knew it, it was only an hour and a half before the time in which he was to be arriving.

Ryosuke was dismissed from class, and leaves the school, once more climbing into the car, though this time he sat in the front, and it didn't take very long for them to arrive at the house. As much as he enjoyed being able to leave school early, he hadn't liked the fact that it was for something like this. Even so, it was to be expected, he couldn't complain. Opening the front door, he lets Mufukine know he was home, before going to the front room, tossing his book bag aside and tkaing off his shoes.

"How much longer until he gets here?" Ryosuke asks Mufukine, who had stepped into the room to hand him something to eat.

"It shouldn't be too much longer."

"Alright then..." He sighs, taking a bite out of the jelly bun that he'd been given, enjoying the flavor and sweetness.

Slumping back in the chair, he was just getting relaxed when he heard the doorbell ring. He allows Mufukine to answer, sighing loudly and slumping even further, so that only the very top of his head could be seen from the back of the couch he was sitting on. His feet were up on the coffee table that was set in front of the couch, his arms crossed over his chest. He was definitely not looking forward to it/

Hearing the ring of the doorbell, Mufukine hurries to the front door, and smiles.

"Hello Kageyama-san. Come on in. It's so good to see you." She steps aside, allowing him to come in to the house, waiting for him to take off his shoes before handing him a pair of house slippers. She then leads the way through the large house.

"Ryo-kun is in the living room." She leads Akihito through a hallway, and after a few moments they arrive at a huge living room with lots of furniture, a huge flat screen TV, pictures on the walls of what looked like a woman and man, with Ryosuke standing in between them, all three were smiling. He looked halfway young in that picture, around seven or eight years old.

"Ryo-kun, Kageyama-san is here to talk to you." She says this to the little bit of Ryosuke's hair that she could see from behind the couch, raising her eyebrows, though the smile on her lips does not fade even a little bit.

"...Alright..." Ryosuke replies, though doesn't move. Mufukine sighs softly, gesturing for Akihito to seat himself in one of the chairs, and says she would be right back with some tea. The whole while Ryosuke was quiet, not budging from his slumped position, his arms still lazily crossed over his chest. That day he was wearing a dark grey long sleeved shirt, expensive looking black denim pants with a brown belt, black converse shoes, and his usual piercings in his ears. He'd left his lip ring out, and even though one can't see it when his mouth was closed, he had a tongue ring in at that moment.

The door opened and he saw a familiar face. He felt relieved.

“A familiar face, that’s good.” He thought to himself.

The woman greeted him with a smile and he smiled back and said

“Hello, Mizuo-san. The pleasure is all mine.”

He stepped inside, he took his shoes off and he wore a pair of house slippers she handed him.

He follows her to the living room where the boy was according to what she told him.

Akihito was looking around the house;

He had never seen such a big house before. It was also spotless and well-decorated.

“Excuse my curiosity, but do you 2 live here alone?” he asked

He was like a kid exploring the world. He finally got to the living room, he was amazed by all the furniture but his eye caught a family portrait hanging on the wall.

“It must be his parents and him.” He thought. He looked at the woman in the portrait and then he looked at Mizuo-san and he noticed that they didn’t look alike therefore

“Could it be that she’s not his mother?” Akihito assumed.

He decided not to ponder with it any longer since it wasn’t his business anyway.

“Thank you very much.” He thanked her and he sat down.

The boy was sitting on a chair quiet.

If it wasn’t for his hair showing, Akihito would have thought the room was empty.

Dead silence dominated the room and Akihito felt very uncomfortable like he was unwanted and that really annoyed him. He wasn’t the type of person, who could tolerate such behavior. That boy didn’t even know him. Annoyance clouded his judgment and he decided to take matters into his own hands.

He got up and he approached the chair the boy he was sitting on.

He stood up before him; he introduced himself and he stretched his hand out to shake hands with a smile on his face trying to hide his irritation.

Akihito took a look at him and he was nothing like he expected. He didn’t seem like a high school student. He looked like a model. A beautiful one.

For a while the room was quiet, and all that could be heard was the ticking of the clock in the corner of the living room. Tick tock, tick tock, as the pendulum of the old grandfather clock swung back and forth, counting away at the seconds that passed by in the awkward and very tense silence enveloping the room. It was obvious that Ryosuke wasn't going to make the first move, and it seemed that Akihito had guessed that, because he got up from his chair. Startling blue eyes follow the movements the man makes, and even though he stops in front of Ryosuke, the teen doesn't move from his spot, instead, remaining as he was.

At first it seemed that Ryosuke wasn't going to acknowledge that Akihito had introduced himself, or pay attention to the hand that was towards him in greeting. Though a few seconds later he finally lifts his eyes to meet the eyes of the man who was standing over him, instead of staring at the blank spot on the wall which he'd been looking at. He stares for a moment, not blinking, before sighing softly.

"Takafumi, Ryosuke. It's nice to meet you." He unfolds his arms, and reaches out, accepting the hand shake, but lets go immediately afterwards, not letting the contact linger for too long. He looks away at that point, and sighs again. "You're irritated, aren't you? You can't fool me with a smile. I've seen that look in tons of other people's eyes when they meet me. So if you don't like me...then you could just leave." He glances at Akihito.

"But...if you do stay...well...it would be nice. I'm tired of getting bad grades." He tried to make himself look as if he didn't care one way or another, if Akihito stayed or went, but it was obvious by the fact that he'd finally unfolded his arms and was sitting up a bit more straight that he actually wanted the older male to stay.

"But you gotta answer one question. Do you like the music from the band Kiken Kuiki? Or in English it's called 'Danger Zone'?

The boy accepted his handshake much to Akihito’s relief.

He wouldn’t know what to do if things didn’t go that way.

Akihito was taken aback by the boy seeing right through him but he didn’t lose his cool.

“I can’t say that I don’t like you, simply because I don’t know you” he said.

“Maybe if you seemed more accepting to other people’s presence, things would have been different.” He continued.

“Why don’t you try it out and see how things go?” he suggested.

Akihito stared at his blue eyes when the boy glanced at him.

“That’s a kind of blue I haven’t seen before. It’s almost serene.” He thought.

Akihito kept listening to the boy carefully and he got confused by his behavior.

“He wants me to stay? “He wants me to leave?” Akihito wondered.

Could he be a tsundere? He thought to himself and laughed on the inside.

Akihito put his hand on his chin as if he was thinking about something and then he told the boy that he had two choices.

“One!” he said and he gestured number one and he got closer to him.

“You think about your bad grades and the chance that you might not graduate.”

“Two!” he continued while gesturing number 2.

“You can keep telling yourself that none really likes you, I go home and you continue failing.”

“You seem smart, I’m sure you’re going to do the right thing.” He said with a confident grin on his face.

Suddenly, he heard footsteps approaching the living room.

“Mizuo-san must be coming.” He thought.

He ignored the first few things that Akihito said to him, he acted the way he did for a reason, and there was no changing that easily. However, he didn't appreciate being ignored himself, and a frown forms on his lips when his question wasn't answered, instead the older male going on to say two things. They both annoyed him, and he made this known quite soon after the words had even left Akihito's mouth.

"One, I already know I have bad grades. And two, what makes you think I think no one likes me? For your information I have plenty of friends." He does the whole gesture with counting out the numbers with his fingers. He then adds a third. And three..." He wiggles his three fingers in a very dramatic way. "You didn't answer my question." He raises both eyebrows at him, a growing grin on his face, though it slips away when he too hears footsteps.

And sure enough, Mufukine appears in the doorway, a tray holding three cups of tea and a small plate of butter cookies. "Sorry for making you wait." She steps forward, and sets the tray on the coffee table, before sitting down in a chair. "Have you two been talking, Ryo-kun you need to open up to him and let him get to know you...he's a nice man." She smiles at Akihito then, and when she did Ryosuke simply rolls his eyes. "Is there any questions you have to ask me or Ryosuke?"

At this point Ryosuke speaks up, his voice final. "There's no need to ask questions, right? Akihito-san is staying...aren't you?" He grins a snarky grin at the older male, his voice sounding as if it were a challenge, his blue eyes twinkling mischievously. Ryosuke wondered what Akihito would say to this, and waits for his answer.

After the boy said what he had to say, Akihito felt the urge to answer back, he just couldn’t resist not to.

He cleared his throat and he followed the same gesturing pattern .

“One, regarding your grades, I was just pointing that out and two, you assumed by the look on my face that I was irritated by you therefore I didn’t like you, simply because you have seen that particular look on other people’s faces when they

meet you therefore you assumed again that they didn’t like you so you think that none likes you when they first meet you. On the other hand, having friends is another thing because you chose them to be with you.” He was about to go on but he got interrupted by Mufukine who appeared in the doorway holding a tray with three cups of tea and a plate of biscuits.

Akihito saw her carrying the tray and he helped her set it on the table.

Akihito was touched by her words and he smiled back.

“Not as nice as you have been all this time.” he said

He took a sip of his tea and he put the cup back on the table, he then took a biscuit from the plate and he took a small

bite.

“That’s a delicious biscuit.” he commented while looking at Mufukine with a smile on his face.

“Did you make these?” he asked her.

He took another sip of his tea, he turned around and he gazed at the boy who was talking at the moment.

”What’s up with the grin and the tone?” he thought.

“It almost feels like a challenge. Could it be that he’s challenging me or something?” he wondered.

Akihito loved to be challenged and he embraced it fully.

After the boy finished talking, he looked at him and said

“As a matter of fact I do have one question, Ryosuke-kun.” he looked at him with a cynical look on his face and then he looked at Mufukine.

“Mufukine-san, I do have one question for you.” he emphasized on the word you.

“Could we work together on making a schedule for me so it can be compatible with Ryosuke-kun’s?

I suppose you know his daily schedule already so. ” he asked her smirking.

While waiting for an answer, he looked at Ryosuke with a provocative grin on his face.

Both Ryosuke and Mufukine now look at Akihito, the teenager having a skeptical look in his eyes, though the challenging glimmer never leaves, and the young woman had a hopeful shimmering in her own eyes, a smile on her lips. She nods, motioning for Akihito to ask his question, and hearing those words her smile only grew. She nods quickly, and it seemed almost as if she were glowing with happiness. "Yes, of course! We can work on it right away if you want to! Thank you so much Akihito-san."

Ryosuke looks back at the older male, matching the grin, but the moment Mufukine looks to him his expression goes blank, as if turning off a light switch. One moment he was goofing off, the next he was more serious than a priest at a funeral procession. "So, are you okay with this Ryo-kun?" She asks, taking his hands in her own, as if begging in her own way for him to say yes, that he was indeed okay with what was going on.

For a moment, he was quiet, then looks away, turning his face. "Yeah, I guess. He seems okay..." He finally answers after a few seconds had gone by. Mufukine turns her attention to Akihito, and the second she does Ryosuke sticks his tongue out at Akihito, before getting up from the couch, dismissing himself, saying that he was going to his room if they needed him.

"This is wonderful! I'm so glad everything went so well, aren't you Akihito-san?" She looked relieved and happy at the same time. Getting up from the seat she'd been sitting in, she goes to a small desk that was in the corner, and opens a drawer, pulling out what looked like a binder with a lot of papers in it. Sitting down once again, she begins to tell Akihito the schedule for the next month. He was busy most weekends and Wednesday evenings, and the week after the next he was going out of town for three days, for something he was working on.

Meanwhile, in his room Ryosuke goes out on to the patio/balcony that was connected to his room, having changed clothing. He was still wearing the same pants, but was now wearing a black sleeveless shirt with a neon blue radioactive waste symbol on the front. He wore a matching bracelet on his left wrist, and a simple black band like collar around his neck. With this was a loose zip up hoodie with the same symbol printed all over the black material, and even the zipper had a charm for it.

Sitting in one of the chairs, he presses a button on the remote he was holding, and seconds later music was blaring from the huge system he had set up. It was one of his favorite American rock bands, Fallout Boy, and one of their newest songs, called Centuries. He looked out onto the street, sighing softly to himself as his foot tapped along with the music. He hoped that agreeing to let Akihito tutor him wouldn't led to any regrets...

Akihito looked at her smiling.

“I am very happy you have accepted my request.” He continued.

“Don’t thank me, please.” “The pleasure is all mine.”

And he finished talking with a warm smile on his face.

Akihito looked at the boy and he grinned provocatively at him and he was amused to see that the boy responded with the exact same grin. Once Mufukine looked at Ryosuke, the latter’s grin got replaced by a serious expression which made Akihito chuckled.

Akihito took another sip of his tea while waiting for the boy to answer to the woman’s question.

He placed his cup back on the table and he looked at the boy.

After Ryosuke’s positive answer, Akihito was surprised to see that the boy stuck his tongue out at him. The boy dismissed himself soon after and Akihito and Mufukine begun to work on his schedule.

After talking about the schedule, they agreed on starting after Ryosuke was back from his trip.

Akihito took a pen and a notebook out of his bag so he could write the days and time he could tutor the boy and then he torn a page out of his notebook and he wrote something like note.

“Could you please give this to Ryosuke?” Akihito politely asked Mufukine and he handed her the note.

Akihito genuinely thanked her for giving him this opportunity and he left. It was 2000 p.m already and he promised his mother that he’d join them for dinner.

Akihito run to the train station and he got on the train. He found a seat near a window and after he sat down, he looked outside letting a sigh out.

It took a little bit to get everything in order, but eventually everything was said and done, schedule set, and things were good to go. Mufukine sees Akihito to the door, and the whole while she had a smile on her face. It was obvious how very happy she was, excited for Ryosuke and glad that she'd found the perfect tutor for the teen. Taking the piec of paper that was handed to him, she promised that she'd get it to him right away, thanking him for taking the job, and bidding him farewell, waving as he walked away.

"I look forward to seeing you again! Thank you so much for everything." Once he was out of sight she turns around and walks back into the house, closing the door behind him and going straight to Ryosuke's room to give him the note that Akihito had given her to give to him. She wondered what it was, but she wasn't one to read something that wasn't for her, so leaves the paper folded. Knocking on Ryosuke's bedroom door, she waits for him to open the door, which he does a few seconds later. She hands him the note, saying that it was from Akihito, and then leaves, heading to the kitchen to make dinner.

Holding the note in his hand, he closes the door before unfolding it, reading the words that had been written, a small smile forming on his lips. He too was looking forward to the first lesson, truth be told. He didn't let it show at first, not wanting to let his inner feelings show too fully. Happy he was, but maybe not completely excited. Ryosuke places the note in an empty drawer in his desk, before sitting on the chair that set in front of it, relaxing and looking around his room.

Starting the day after tomorrow, he would be having Akihito come over pretty much almost every evening for him to be tutored. Wondering how well this would work out, he pulls out a piece of his own lined paper and begins to write, lyrics to a song that just now was forming in his head. Usually he had someone write lyrics for him from his producers, but sometimes he came up with his own words and songs, which was just as good, because it made more for the competition.

As he paused to think, he wondered what the other's were doing at that moment, knowing that Kanade was out with some other friends outside the band, and Rei was at a modeling shoot. Sighing, he leans back in his chair, looking up at the ceiling and the posters that were plastered to it, biting his bottom lip and thinking of something good to write. He had to make this next song perfect...To prove to that guy just how good he was.
