GodofMischief
MC Name: Minho Age: 17 Gender: Male Position: Dragon's lover Personality: Minho can be a bit testy and snappish when his buttons are pushed and he becomes irritated. He isn't the most trusting of souls, yet that could only be expected due to his upbringing. For the most part, Minho is known to weigh and measure each action and word he speaks and be extremely observant of those around him. He might not spread his arms open and accept you in without a doubt, however, he is willing to give you several chances to earn his friendship. Beneath Minho's icy, stoic shield he truly has a heart of gold. Time and time again, he'll go out of his way to help anyone he sees that is in need. And if it is in his power to be able to protect someone, he will do so without a second thought. Sighing softly and looking around at the small stretch of land before him, Minho couldn't help it when he felt his heart drop to his stomach. Only yesterday he had been among people he had come to recognize as familiar strangers most of his life and yet now, here he stood....abandoned in Heaven knew where. He should have known something like this would happen, how could it not with the mark his face carried. The mark that destined him to be something of which he wanted no part of...even if the idea did send a few shots of interest through his solemn mind. A dragon's lover....Truly, that was a loaded statement. Especially for a boy that barely even remembered what it felt to love, a boy who had had everyone he had ever loved torn from him before his 10th birthday. To be told his entire youth that he was meant to become a dragon's mate...it had all sounded like rubbish to the long haired child. Due to the circumstances now however, he could safely assume that not everyone thought the way he did. Exhaling another heavy breath, Minho wandered a bit further into the island, just until the water of the lake lapped against the toe edges of his boots. Looking out at the beauty of the clear skies, Minho's shoulders sagged briefly in defeat before allowing himself to fall back onto the soft sandy surface of the lake's shore. He'd have to think of a way to get off this island sooner or later. He might not have checked for the amount of resources he had at his disposal to survive with, but he doubted it was much. Closing his eyes in mild defeat, the teen's mind raised with thoughts and calculations as he laid there. He knew panicking was no good as did he know crying would bring no help to him. He had to keep a clear mind and save himself, or at least try to...As he had been doing his whole life.
Kotorichan
Name: Rito Rineir Appearance: Human form- Tall, pale with short blue-white hair. Dark purple eyes and scars on his body. Dragon form- blue-white scales, long body with two pairs of wings and four horns. Age: ~3000 Gender: Bio: Rito doesn't usually spend time with anyone, including other dragons. He keeps to himself and isn't very talkative. He's also very serious and is pretty calm but can be terrifying when he actually does loose his temper. His family was killed by dragon hunters over the years so he lives far away from human settlements. He doesn't blame humans in general but is very wary of them. Winter was always such an annoying time of year for Rito. It was the time of year that all the dragons in the area would meet up and discuss politics. Things like who was living where and what other species had settled in their lands. If Rito didn't show up then someone might start pushing into his land, which he didn't want. The dragon had left as soon as the meeting was over, not wanting to socialize with the others. He was a little more than halfway to his homeland when night fell. With a sigh he began to descend towards a small island. He stopped by this island every year that he passed through so he knew he there weren't any human's living there. His feet knocked up a cloud of sand and he had to close his eyes until it settled. Rito folded his wings and glanced up at the starry sky. It was always so peaceful at night and this part of the world was so much warmer than his home. Sometimes Rito wished that he could just stay on this tiny island, but his current home was all he had left of his family so he could never leave it. Rito changed into his human form, it was easier to get through the forest like this. He picked his way through the trees and bushes, completely naked. There was a cave here that he always set up camp in. When he had stopped here on his way to the meeting he had gathered some firewood in the cave and set up some meat to dry. The meat was out of the reach of any of the animals native to this island, so it would still be there. He made his way towards the lake in the center of the island, frowning slightly when he picked up the scent of a human. They couldn't have come to this island in the few days since he was last here... Right?
GodofMischief
Laying down on the patch of sandy shore he had chosen, Minho closed his eyes for a few moments to enjoy the crisp night air. It wasn't as cold as the village he had been staying in, but it wasn't warm either. Truthfully, Minho had no idea how long he had been laying on this piece of dirt beside the lake but he wasn't in any rush to move either. He had no where to go, after all. He had been abandoned here, no one would be waiting for him or expecting him back home......Home....Minho wasn't even sure if he knew what that truly meant. Sighing the moment he heard his stomach growling, the young teen slowly pushed himself to sit up on the lake shore. Pulling his cloak's hood a bit further over his head to fight off the chill of the night, Minho took several moments to gaze across the vast beauty of the lake in the center of such a small island. Had he not been just dumped here, he wouldn't have minded coming upon this island on his own free will. It seemed like an interesting place to explore.....Yet not now when he had no resources to survive from until a dragon came for its "lover"....At least that's what the villagers thought would happen sooner or later. Hearing the subtle sounds of movement through the trees around the lake, Minho frowned and slowly got to his feet. His eyes swept the darkness of the area around him in a cautious manner. Where there had been dead silence before, now it seemed that something else was moving about. Something large and possibly even dangerous. Something Minho might be lucky to avoid. And yet, his curiosity lead him to call out in a tone as crisp as the air around him "Who's there?!". His expression still remained that of the stoicism of which he lived with, but his eyes flickered from one spot to the other in almost a frantic motion. If it was a predator, Minho could make a run from it. Maybe he wouldn't get far but at least he might be able to find a weapon along the way. "I can hear you! I know you're there!" he called out, muscles tensing just in case it truly was a predator of which would lead to him bolting out of there as fast as his legs could take him. Kotorichan
The human voice made Rito freeze. He knew that he had smelled something, but had hoped it was nothing. If he had brought clothes then he might be able to pass himself as a fellow human. However he hadn't excepted to meet any and so had left all his human clothes back in his home. Memories of other humans he had met flashed through the dragons mind. They were violent, unpredictable, and cruel. It would be hard to tell at first glance whether or not the human meant him harm. By the time he knew how dangerous this human was, it would be too late. It might already be too late, the human knew that something was there. Rito took a deep breath before changing back into his dragon form. His scales reflected light through the trees and his large body snapped branches as he walked. It made him much easier to be spotted but there was nothing that could scratch the outside of a dragon's scale. An enemy would have to slip a weapon under his scales or aim for his eyes. It was the safest form that he could take. "I should be the one asking that" His voice came out as a growl that shook the leaves on the trees. "This isn't a place for humans... You should know that" His head pushed aside the last trees before the lake. As he looked around he kept his eyes half closed to protect himself even more. GodofMischief
Hearing the growl rumble out of the woods surrounding him, Minho froze the moment a huge head pushed a few trees out of the way. Staring at the face of the huge dragon before him, the young teen's eyes must have resembled saucers the moment he took a small step back and swallowed thickly. Though he knew sooner or later a dragon would come upon this island, he was under no circumstances ready to meet one yet. He had thought of perhaps being able to escape the island before the dragon had made its presence known, yet that was all for not now. Taking another step back, Minho knew subconsciously that he would not be able to outrun the creature as easily as he hoped. The dragon was a big one, that Minho could tell by merely the size of its head. It would be able to catch him without even getting winded. Nevertheless, that did not mean that Minho would go down without a fight. Mate or not.....he wouldn't allow himself to be captured with open arms. This might have been his "destiny", but Minho had never wanted any of this in the first place. "I did not choose to be here.....I was brought against my will" he called out to the creature. He didn't want to explain in length the whole situation with his mark and the fact that the villagers thought him to be born for the sole purpose of mating with a dragon. That was nothing of the dragon's business. Assuming the dragon had no idea about how the humans thought when one of their own was born with a unique marking somewhere on them. "If you would show me the way off this piece of land, I would gladly never return....If you do not wish to assist me, then at least allow me the chance to find my own way off this island" Minho said after another moment, chancing yet another step back towards the woods opposite to where the dragon stood. His hands were shaking and his heart was pounding in his chest, yet Minho was proud of the confidence he still managed to portray outward.
Kotorichan
The human's words took Rito off guard. Of course it was impossible to tell if he was being led into a trap or not... "There isn't a way off this island without some sort of boat. Even for me it takes a few minutes to fly to the land..." The panicked appearance for the weaker creature made Rito lower his guard slightly. He stepped towards the edge of the lake and lapped up a drink, keeping one eye focused on the human. "You could try to make a boat of some sort... But it would be easy to get swept out into the ocean." There really wasn't any point in telling this human everything. It wasn't like Rito could do much about the situation, the human seemed to be ready to bolt at any moment. "Why were you left here?" He finally asked. "Are you some sort of criminal in your homeland?" There didn't seem to be many reasons for a human to be abandoned on an island like this, unless it was some sort of punishment. GodofMischief
Feeling his heart drop to his stomach at what the dragon said, Minho slowly curled his hands into fists as frustration began to swell in him. So getting to land would be nearly impossible....Even if that fact was disheartening in itself, Minho wasn't ready to give up yet. He had promised himself the moment his villagers had dragged him out of the village that if he escaped this, he would search for a way to find his brother. That promise had not faded from his mind....even if things were not as easy as he had hoped they would be. Studying the creature before him as the questions rained down on him, Minho weighed the pros and the cons about telling the dragon why he was here. It wasn't like he had anywhere he would be able to go in a hurry. Sure, his pride didn't like the idea of admitting the true reason of his presence here. However, thinking logically, he didn't really have much to lose. If push came to shove, he'd find a way to fight off the creature as long as he could. For now though, he longed to keep things as calm as they had been for these last few moments. "I am no criminal" Minho replied, doing his best to keep his voice steady and without wavering. "The people in the village I come from have a strange belief in an old legend that should be reduced to nothing more than a child's tale.....It is believed if a person is born with an unusual marking somewhere on their body, then they are meant to belong to a dragon.....Whether it is against their will or not" he said calmly. Raising slightly shaking hands to the brim of the hood that cloaked his face in shadows, Minho slowly tugged the hood back just enough for the moonlight to shine down over his features. The facial markings he had been born with and had dominated a large portion of his life, we're quick to make their appearance known. It would be hard not to notice them when they covered a quarter of his face, laying over the left side. "Because I was born with these marks, my family was taken from me and I was raised in a village that only thought to keep me until I was old enough to be brought here. They were under the mindset that a dragon would soon come to make me it's mate. As foretold in the stories of others like me......However, I have no desire to play along with any of that" Minho finished quietly, pulling his hood back over his face to cover it in shadows yet again. Bowing low to the dragon in front of him, he said "I will not waste your time any further. I assure you that I will do my best to leave this island as soon as possible. I have no desire to make you feel uncomfortable about my presence here. I beg you to give me just a few days and I will gladly take myself off your land". Kotorichan
The sight of the markings on the human's face brought up old memories that Rito had almost completely forgotten about. He hadn't heard about that legend in centuries. When he was younger there were many humans who believed in the meaning behind those marks. "I didn't know that anyone still believed that..." Rito murmured. After a moment of hesitation he changed into his human form, it would be easier to make a campsite like this. "You're right to refuse to go along with that role, it's rare for a dragon to wish to mate with a human." He kept the man in the corner of his gaze as he began to gather sticks and small branches for a fire. "Although if you plan on finding your own way off this island you must not have been listening. I can guarantee that you will find nothing but your own death." It was true, the dragon had seen the island from the sky and it would be impossible to get off with just a simple raft. Then again it would be dangerous to stay on this island. The wolves that lived on the forest were very aggressive, and it would take a lot of effort for a human to fight them off. Rito held the branches in his arms and stared at the man. It wasn't this human's fault that he was on this island... Unless he was lying, but it seemed like he was telling the truth. If he really was trapped in this place because of such a silly old legend... It might even be partially Rito's fault since they would have seen him here so many times. "Your name?" He asked bluntly.
