The backroom was filled with strange magical artifacts, some of which were encased in glass and had 'do not touch' signs on them. Mrs. Noria had Alec fill out a few forms and write down what days he was available. She looked over the days he had written down and followed him back out to the front of the shop. "You can start on Friday at noon, Heina will be here and

he can help show you what to do"

"Ah okay . Thank you very much. If you want, you can keep the cookies to snack on. I'll get some on the way back home." Alec said then bowed. He then walked passed Heina and waved, smiling at him. "See you Friday."

 

Once he was far enough and hidden in the trees, he bounced in place. He was excited he got the job. His ears popped out and his tail wagged. He smiled and went to his home, he also decided to call his mom and speak to her about what happened.

Heina was a bit sad that Alec was leaving already, he would have liked to get to know the other boy a little better. "Are you sure he should start Friday? There's a lot going on isn't there?" He asked, glancing over at his boss.

 

"Well, he'll need to learn eventually. It'll be one of the quieter nights and I don't want him to start on a busy one" Mrs. Noria said with a smile. "Don't worry, you'll be there with him"

A few days passed and it was Friday. Alec was nervous his first day. He dressed in something comfortable, but was stuck glaring at himself in the mirror. His Ears and tail wouldn't go away. He tried really hard to calm his nerves, the only reason they were out was because of the stress building up on his first day. He'd be with Heina all day also...he blushed at that and then screamed, rubbing his face and then paced, breathing in and out. He stopped and sighed heavily when he felt his tail and ears disappear.

 

Once they were hidden, he slapped his cheeks and walked to work. He kept calm, making his way through the forest and then arrived at the town, going to the store and peeking in, seeing Heina. He smiled a bit and then went in fully. "Hi Heina..." He said quietly while waving. "I made it."

Heina had been at the counter, bored, for the past few hours. He perked up at the sound of the boy's voice. "Hey Alec, ready for your first day?" He stepped out from behind the counter. "It's gonna get busy in a couple hours, but you don't have to worry about it. You can just watch me and learn for next time"
