Haimo holds onto the sobbing wolf tighter, rumbling softly while gently licking away the tears. "Easy there. I'll be fine and so will you. We'll get through this just fine." He rumbles while not letting the other get away in the slightest. He's even more determined to see to his mate's needs than ever, even though his body is torn between the need to care for his wolf and itself. His mind, however, holds no such conflict. His poor gentle little wolf. Haimo has to fight back the desire to go into town rampaging until all those who were involved in his mate's pain are eradicated.

He mentally forces himself to fight back a shift which would heal the wounds and allow him to tend to Ken without the limitations of his wounds, but with his freshly sewn flesh that would be a bad idea. Before they were sewn the chances of the patches of nearly torn off flesh healing wrong was high, with them sewn together the risk of the thread being stuck inside and causing infection was cause for concern. This causes him to release plumes of smoke in frustration from his nostrils as he's essentially powerless to ease his mate's suffering which is a new kind of hell for him.

Ken whimpered softly at his mate's words, trying to get himself to get a grip and calm down. It wasn't really a surprise that he broke down, but he still didn't like it. It made him feel like he was appearing to need constant protection... Well, with dragons all around, he probably did. His arms tightened around Haimo's neck slightly, one hand gently tangling into his hair. With time, listening to the dragon's heartbeat and breathing, the wolf managed to slowly calm down. His head hurt a bit from the tears, but he would get over it. "I'm really sorry..." He hiccuped out quietly, slowly running his hand over the other's hair. The warmth was helping him relax.

"I... Really don't think I can sleep, though..." He muttered, pressing a soft kiss to Haimo's forehead. He didn't want to sleep at all. Nightmares were the only dreams he had. Sleep... Sleep didn't help him feel any less tired. "Just, please, let me take care of you. It's all that I need." He pleaded softly, his fingers trembling a bit. At least that way he would have what to do, instead of laying around and thinking about his horrid experience. He could let himself be alone with his thoughts after Haimo was fed and asleep. The wolf knew he would not be sleeping, at least not properly. He could handle it. He had to.

Haimo snorts and settles himself more comfortably on the smaller male to make sure he can't slip away. "Then you can take care of me by taking a nap with me before we eat." He rumbles, voice already fading as he starts to slip off once again. This time though he's more conscious of his little wolf's own state and so will be focusing on how Ken is suffering and yet is unable to help alleviate it. So he'll do what little he can in getting the other to rest and feel less guilty.

As he falls into a light slumber, he flashes back to seeing Ken happily playing with the children and then being swollen with his seed after the Rut. A low pleased and impatient rumble slips out of him as he's eager to see it happen truly and then keep his little wolf constantly filled with his seed and child until there's so much happiness filling the other that any lingering shadows won't be able to haunt him.

After a couple of hours he groggily blinks and looks at Ken to see how the other is doing. While peering at the other his stomach lets it be known that it will no longer be ignored.

Ken exhaled quietly, watching as his mate fell asleep. He was trapped, quite literally. His head fell back against the floor, arms going around the other's neck to gently run through his hair. He'd let the dragon sleep without letting himself do the same. It was too risky. He was scared of waking up and finding Haimo dead, that would be the end of him. A smile tugged at his lips at the low rumble that came from the dragon. At least he was having a good dream...

A few hours passed and his mate finally woke up. He hadn't gotten a minute of sleep. Still, he offered him a soft smile, pressing a light kiss to his lips. "Did you sleep well?" Ken asked, gently massaging his scalp, combing through his hair. By now they were probably the softest they had been. He chuckled quietly at the grumble that came from his mate's stomach, lightly cupping his cheek. "Wanna let me go now so I can make food for the both of us?" He asked with a smile, although the dark circles underneath his eyes gave out his tiredness. Even so, it was clear the wolf would refuse to sleep. This wasn't too hard. He just had to go through a couple of days with little rest, he could definitely manage it.

At first Haimo was going to happily agree to having his mate bring him food. Then he got a good look at Ken's face and very nearly scowls. "If I let you up and get food you will then rest and sleep. I cannot idly lay here and let you run yourself into the ground like this. Injuries be damned I will get up and drag you to bed and show you just how alive I am." He growls lowly not at all joking. His entire demeanor radiates with barely contained frustration and concern.

Leaning in he sniffs the other along his neck and hairline as if searching for something but then another low growl slides out as if denied what he's searching for. "I had planned on waiting until an anniversary of some sort had come along to take you to bed and not let you leave until you were for sure with child, but now I am thinking I might either have to hurry that along or put it off for much longer if you continue at this rate." He rumbles while gently tracing the shadows under his mate's eyes.

Ken nearly flinched at the gaze he got from his mate. A heavy sigh parted his lips, his hands continuing to move slowly through his combed through hair. "Okay, I'll try to rest." He muttered quietly, just wanting to help the other. "You shouldn't hurt yourself any further than you already have. I'll be fine, even if I get a bit less sleep." He smiled softly, wiggling slightly. "Can you let me go now? I can't even feel my legs properly." He whined quietly, trying to lighten the mood at least a little bit. He wouldn't get trapped like this again, that was certain. It was too bothersome.

"Haimo... I can't sleep properly." Ken sighed out, letting his head fall back at last. "What if something happens while I'm not awake? What if you die?... I'm too scared to let myself fall asleep." Perhaps if his mate saw his reasoning he would understand. "Knowing you, you wouldn't even wake me if you needed something. I'm healthy in all ways, and you're injured pretty bad. If you let me take care of you, you'd get better sooner and I would be able to rest as well, knowing that if something happened, you wouldn't... Nothing bad would happen." He finished quietly, his eyes closing. Surely, he couldn't let himself fall asleep now. He had to go and make food. With that thought, the wolf forced his eyes open and looked at Haimo with a somewhat sad gaze. "So... Just let me go, and I promise I'll try to sleep a little bit."

Haimo's eyes narrow before his heard jolts back as though he'd been hit. "You think I'd be so proud and foolish as to not wake you if I needed you?" He demanded clearly insulted and hurt at the thought. Did his mate really think so little of him that he'd be willing to leave his mate and clan that easily. He'd been ready to let the matter go when Ken had promised to get some sleep but this was not something he could ignore.

A low growling rumble near constant, he leans back in eyes near slits. "You will get up and get us both food and rest, this is true, but it seems I will be forced to make you understand to not taking a dragon so lightly as to think this would be enough to make me leave this world so easily." Vow stated of proving his health and will to the other, he shifts enough to let the other get up though is still clearly agitated at the exchange. Even if the flicking tail behind him is more of a matter of thought than his tail actually being there. The smoke trailing out of his nostrils is very real though.

Ken flinched slightly, closing his eyes once more. "I didn't mean it in that way." He muttered quietly as he rolled out from underneath the other, slowly sitting up, his joints cracking from being still for so long. "Calm down, please." He murmured, far too tired to be willing to get into any sort of a fight. "Something could happen. Something that would kill you before you got to ask for help." He said softly, staying on his knees as he leaned down to press a small kiss to his forehead. "I still don't know a lot. Forgive me for the mistakes I make." He asked quietly as he slowly stood up, beginning to walk to the kitchen. He had to make food. Nothing would stop him from taking care of his mate anymore.

"And please, try not to move. Your wounds have to heal properly, and if you move around too much, the stitches will have been for nothing." He called out before taking out a big chunk of meat to cut up and then cook in a pan. In the meantime, he prepared mashed potatoes and brewed tea. The meat was cut into bite-sized pieces to make it easier for Haimo, and everything else didn't even need chewing. "Alright, now... Let me feed you." Ken smiled slightly as he knelt down in front of his mate again, the plate with food placed next to him as he held a piece of the meat in front of Haimo's mouth.

Haimo snorts at the thought of these injuries causing him to die so easily. "This isn't the worse I've been through and I'm still around. And this time you're here so I doubt anything will happen as you seem determined to focus on." Huffing at yet another apology from his mate he resigns himself to staying on the floor until the food is done. The smell of which has him sniffing and rumbling impatiently for.

After Ken settles in front of him, he stares at the piece of meat for a moment before moving himself to have his head on the wolf's lap before opening his mouth to accept the bite. As comfortable as he's likely to get in his current predicament he eats most of the food before yawning. Scooting off to position himself back on the floor to let his mate eat, and probably tend to the mess in the kitchen, he starts to drift into a light doze again feeling predominately full content. Despite their little spats over their difference, the house is feeling more like a home to him with the other in it.

Ken let out a small smile as the dragon moved closer to place his head on his lap. The younger male gladly shifted to make him feel as comfortable as possible before beginning to feed him. The Alpha didn't seem to want the whole food, which was fair enough, as the portion was rather big. Ken let out a quiet sigh and leaned back to eat himself, then, just as Haimo had suspected, went to clean up, putting away all the dishes and the remains of the food into the fridge. He was feeling sleepy, of course, he could barely keep his eyes open, but... He was still a bit scared. Still, Haimo convinced him well enough to at least try to get some rest.

With that thought, Ken got himself a pillow and two blankets - one to put on the floor to make it softer and the other to cover himself with. When that was taken care of and he had a sort of bed ready, the wolf snuggled up close to his mate and closed his eyes. "Just wake me if you need me." He murmured quietly, soon dozing off. He didn't quite have a lot of rest. As he suspected, nightmares kept on interrupting his resting. Even Haimo's presence wasn't enough. They weren't bad enough to make him wake up, though. Only whimper from time to time, although quietly.

With an acknowledging hum he wraps an arm around the smaller male to hold him close. Not being able to rest himself, feeling more restless than anything, tries to offer comfort whenever he hears the soft whimpers as his mate tries to get some sleep while rumbling softly. He can't but help feel frustrated and helpless that he can't do more for the little wolf sleeping next to him. The feelings are unfamiliar to the dragon and make his teeth feel on edge.

Ignoring the tugging and pain of pulling on his stitches, he shifts to pull the other more securely to him and nuzzles the soft spot behind the other's ear. Determination to get back on his feet soon settles over him. That will mean getting his mate out of the house for some time so that he can have one of his Betas come take care of the stitching so he can shift without worry. He can feel the muscles knitting back together as it is, albeit much slower than it would be if he was at full strength, but he'll be able to manage a shift to speed along the process by tomorrow.

Ken managed to get a few hours of sleep, which was nowhere near enough for him to actually rest, but it was the best he could do. He awoke with a sharp gasp, the image of his last dream still standing right in front of his eyes. Haimo, bloody, writhing in pain and worst of all - calling for his help. Ken felt like he was frozen in a block of ice during that dream... He couldn't imagine anything worse. With tears shimmering in his eyes, the werewolf let out a shuddering breath, gently wrapping his arms around the other.

"This is why I didn't want to go sleep." He whispered, fear and distress obvious in his voice and still shaking body. It was just a dream, he kept telling himself, but it didn't help. "Haimo... Please get better soon." He muttered out quietly, trying to even out his breathing and slow down his heartbeat. He felt pathetic and weak. He wasn't the one who suffered through the torture, and yet he was hogging all the attention to himself. He was so selfish. "Do you need anything? Food? Water? More blankets or pillows?" He began questioning in a shaky voice, pulling back a bit to look at the dragon. He needed something else to focus on, or he'd be swallowed by his fear again.

  • 2 weeks later...

Haimo huffs at the wolf having been jolted awake by the scent of fear and gasp the other let out upon awakening. With a short rough yawn he blinks at the other. "You being able to sleep well again is one thing, but the moment I am able to wear you out again then it will no longer be an issue." He states matter-of-factly before tilting his head. Shifting he gives himself a few test movements then gives a short decisive nod. "You can help me to the bathroom to shower and wash up. After that would you be okay going to the store to restock our food and supplies? I'll need a lot of food the next few days now that the healing is underway."

He's gambling that this will keep his little wolf out for at least a good hour or so which will give him time to have one of his Betas come remove the stitching and help him outside to shift. It'll heal most of his injuries if not all of them and allow him to test the extent of how long he'll need to ease on his duties.

Ken shivered, guilt washing over him when he realized he'd woke up his mate. He assumed, right after having woken up, that the other was awake the whole time. Why would he be? Selfish, selfish, selfish. His lips parted for another apology, but he stopped himself before the first word could slip out. It would probably only annoy Haimo anyway. "I don't want to leave you alone... I could find someone to stay with you, would it be okay? Then I could take the time and get everything..." He trailed off while slowly standing up.

Carefully, he slipped himself underneath the dragon's arm, trying to hold him up the best he could without causing too much pain or strain him. "Is this alright? Just tell me if it's too hard for you. I'll think of another way." He spoke softly, gently nuzzling his cheek against Haimo's neck to show his affection and empathy. He still felt tired. He was still tired. The dark circles under his eyes weren't disappearing anywhere, and he was a bit sluggish. If something was to happen, he probably wouldn't catch up on it quickly enough.

At the other's asking about bringing someone to watch him, Haimo couldn't be more pleased at the ease of his plan coming together. Though he's worried about how dark the spots under his mate's eyes are getting. Still, he nods while making sure that his signs and reactions to the pain and tugging are minimal if they show at all. "That would be fine provided it's one of my Betas. Do you remember any of them by chance? It'd be easier for you if you remembered how any looked instead of just my giving you a name and vague description." He asks though has little expectation of his mate remembering any other dragon. If he says so himself he's done a very good job of imprinting only himself on the wolf.

At the question regarding his own well being he gives a small smile and rumble while rubbing his cheek against the top of the wolf's head. "This is fine. I'm healing quickly and well so this is barely more than a twinge for one such as myself." He huffs trying to alleviate some of the other's fear and worry. In truth it still hurts a large amount but mostly due to the quick healing ability of his kind at work. The feel of one's muscles and flesh stitching back together is not a pleasant one.

Once they reach the bathroom, he's both relieved and annoyed as his muscles are nearly shaking from exhaustion. The energy and toll of the damage and healing from it is draining him far more than he'd hoped. Granted he hasn't been eating nearly enough to make up for the healing which is another reason why shifting is paramount. Making sure his irritation at his state doesn't show he gently guides them to the large natural spring. The healing properties of the water and the heat should aide him. Once settled he tugs Ken to him and gives him a kiss that is nothing less than possessive and thorough. Nipping as he pulls back he looks the wolf over. "I'll stay here until one of my Betas arrive to help me out." He states merely to help calm any hesitation Ken may have in regards to leaving him unattended.

Ken's gaze lowered at the question, shaking his head. "No, I don't think I even know any." He admitted quietly. Thinking back, he truly couldn't remember ever seeing even one of Haimo's Betas. Well, perhaps he had, but they didn't do much, or simply weren't introduced properly. "I'm sure I'll be able to find someone if you give me a name. Even better, you could name a few and I'd ask around. People ought to know them, right?" He smiled lightly, slipping himself more comfortably underneath the dragon's body to carry him.

As they reached the hot spring, he lowered Haimo into it, closing his eyes when he was kissed. He returned the motion, gently cupping his mate's cheek, stroking it lovingly. "Okay. I'll find them as quickly as I can, and then I should not take longer than an hour, an hour and a half at most. Take care of yourself, Haimo." He smiled softly, pressing another soft kiss to his lips before running off. He didn't take long at all to find one of the Betas, so Haimo would only have to be alone for fifteen minutes tops. Meanwhile, the werewolf himself gathered food supplies and medicine in case more was needed.

As he suspected, he took about an hour and a half, carrying two big bags of food and medicine, the latter only taking up a third of one bag. Genuinely, going up to the mountain while carrying such weight was exhausting for him - especially when taking his previous tiredness into consideration. He managed to get sweaty on his way up, which took him nearly twenty minutes alone. He still wasn't back to his full strength after the Rut, and all the stress really had a toll on both his body and mind. Looking around, Ken set the bags down for a moment, taking the time to breathe. He just hoped nothing had happened to Haimo while he was out...

Haimo lets out an amused and pleased sound at the admission. "While a bit troublesome for you I can't say I'm overly upset at you not remembering anyone else." He huffs with an overly pleased look almost seeming to preen. He nods at the question. "Yes. It's easy enough to find any of them and one should be nearby in any case."

Settling in he enjoys the soak and ease in his muscles until his Beta arrives. Opening an eye he stares the other down for a moment. "Get a knife or some small scissors. We don't have all that much time to get everything done." Even though his wolf said he'd be gone for around an hour, getting outside and then removing all the stitching will take some time. Then there comes the tricky part of shifting and making sure the flesh heals correctly. So that might mean partial shifts until he's healed enough to fully shift which could take a long time.

The other nods and helps Haimo out of the bathing pool then assists him outside, giving him a slab of meat he'd found tucked away somewhere. Tearing at the food after using his fire to roast it, he gobbles it down while trying to ignore the tugging and insistent small sharp pains of the stitches being removed. The food helps his fatigued slightly and gives him some strength as the itching healing feeling speeds up before fading as quickly as it came as the extra nutrients are quickly used up. By the time the first attempt at shifting occurs, it's been nearly forty minutes. Feeling the other stay right next to him, far closer than ever advised when one shifts into a much larger beast, he lets the change start feeling it almost drag and be painful due to healing taking up the energy needing to shift quickly and easily.

He feels his flesh swiftly knitting together even as his bone and skin feel as though they're moving through quicksand and sandpaper to readjust themselves. His Beta keeps a close eye on him then taps him to make him stop the transformation. "You need a meal before you can shift. I shall get a deer." He waits for approval before swiftly going off. Though only ten minutes pass when he returns with the food, Haimo feels the pressure of getting this done before his mate gets home to worry more. Though he wonders if a scolding or somesuch is in his future. Amusement filling him as he eats as much as he's able, he attempts a shift again. This time is much smoother and less painful, though not nearly what he'd achieve prior to the injury, soon a large dragon fills the backyard though easily recognized as being tired despite the proud baring.

Swiftly changing back his beta then assists him back to his room where he can rest. The marks not fully gone, but only fading marks of the deepest wounds are visible now. Leaving the rest of the skin smooth and virtually unmarked minus silver lines showing where there had once been gaping wounds.

Ken came back a bit too late to actually see Haimo's shift, but perhaps that was for the best. The young man would've freaked out completely, that was certain. He was sure he would find his mate somewhere comfortable, hopefully with his Beta taking care of him. Carrying both of the bags inside, the werewolf finally set them down inside, tilting his head up only to be greeted with the sight of Haimo, sitting on the couch, seemingly a lot better. The first emotion that rose up was gladness, and only then did confusion, and finally fear settle in.

Slowly turning his gaze to the Beta, it seemed like Ken was about to start shaking - whether with anger or fear. "What did you do?" He asked quietly, his voice rather sharp. Something happened. And that something could not have been good. Sure, the results were incredible, but... Ken could only think about what had to be done to achieve that.

Slowly stepping closer, his muscles sore from the running and heavy bags, Ken, of course, looked nowhere near as dangerous as a furious dragon, but he didn't quite look innocent either. He wasn't sure what was it that made these feelings rise inside, but the urge to protect Haimo from the unfamiliar Beta was stronger than ever. He didn't trust the other dragon. Lightly placing a hand on Haimo's arm, he stood completely between him and the Beta. He wanted answers, and he wanted them now.

Haimo gives his ferocious little wolf a tired but pleased smile. Looking faintly amused even. "Easy there. He only did what I told him to." Easing himself up, feeling sore and tired despite feeling thousands of times better, he pulls Ken to sit on his lap. "All that happened was he removed my stitches, found me some meat, and kept an eye on the areas as I tried to shift to make sure the healing went well. If they weren't healing properly, he'd have stopped me and re-stitched them."

He smiles while nuzzling the soft skin of the wolf's neck. "Look at my little mate, getting all fired up over me." He huffs letting his pride and happiness over the display be heard in his words. Giving a light nip he then leans back to yawn while his body reminds him he needs more food. Frowning faintly he looks at Ken and lightly squeezes him. "I don't suppose you brought anything that could be cooked up real quick is there? Even the little I managed has left me feeling..." He scowls and trails off clearly not liking admitting to feeling weak.

The beta gives a faint smile and shakes his head. "I'll leave you two be. Let me know if I'm needed again Alpha." With a short bow and wave he leaves the house.

Ken was nowhere near being relaxed or calmed down. Even when pulled into the dragon's lap, though he didn't resist, the young man stayed alert, shooting glares at the Beta. It was clear who he blamed for his own worry. "You what?" His eyes widened in shock as he turned to Haimo with obvious disbelief. "You were supposed to rest! Take it easy, not... Not shift!" He scolded the other, his worry surfacing in his expression and voice that had begun to shake slightly.

"Of course I'd get fired up over you. You're an idiot. What if something happened?!" He continued, holding up one hand, lightly placing it over the other's cheek. "I'm never leaving you alone again." Ken muttered, lightly pressing their foreheads against each other as a sign of affection. Although he was worried and slightly angry about this, he supposed all that mattered was Haimo being safe.

"I can heat up some meat. They offered me a few pieces that were cooked already. I won't take longer than five minutes. Don't even move." He said firmly, pushing himself off the other's lap. The young werewolf was obviously exhausted, but he pushed himself to carry the heavy bags into the kitchen, taking out a decent amount of already-made meat to heat up in the pan. Once it was warm, he brought it back to Haimo, settling himself carefully onto his lap. Placing the plate on his own lap, he looked up at his mate. "Can you eat by yourself or do you want me to feed you?"

At the little telling off he receives, Haimo laughs but stays put as Ken goes off to get some food. Wrapping one arm around the slim form, he holds the wolf close and nuzzles him. "I can feed myself. You just rest and try to eat a little as well. I'm not in any real danger anymore." He murmurs before taking the food and beginning to eat. He'll need to sleep some more after this, perhaps in the sun.

Despite the food he ate not that long ago, he eagerly eats the food provided to him. He might have to hunt instead of sleeping right away. Mulling that thought over he decides that he'll wait on hunting until his little wolf has calmed down and rested more. No sense in unnecessarily stressing him further. However, there is still the promise of wearing Ken out until he has no choice but to sleep deeply for an undetermined amount of time. Perhaps after they both try to nap some more.

That plan in mind he offers bites to the other male now and then to try and get him to eat as well. Though he does try to get Ken to eat close to half of what is on the plate. "Alright. You go to bed and I'll clean up then join you." Giving Ken a quick kiss he then scoots the male up and off towards the room before taking the plate to the kitchen. He quickly cleans up then goes to join his small mate for some needed rest and bonding.

Ken closed his eyes after Haimo said he could feed himself. Slowly, he let himself relax, his head falling against the dragon's shoulder. He was so terribly tired... The food that was offered to him he mostly turned away, so he ended up eating no more than a quarter of what he'd brought to Haimo. He was more focused on cuddling up to him and keeping them both warm.

He resisted weakly against going to sleep before Haimo, but the dragon seemed capable of walking by himself now, so perhaps it wouldn't do too much harm. The werewolf settled into the soft bed comfortably, already half-asleep when his mate joined him. Feeling the warmth of his body against his own, Ken snuggled up close, for once feeling at ease. Perhaps he could finally sleep properly. With this thought in mind, he drifted off in minutes, his arms wrapped loosely around Haimo.

He slept for over ten hours. Being that exhausted, it wasn't really a surprise. Waking up, his first instinct was to check if Haimo was there, and if he was okay. He wouldn't have felt it if his mate had wandered off while he was asleep. Opening his eyes, the young ginger let out a wide yawn, showing off the little fangs he had even in this form. Finally... Some peace after all the stress.

Seeing the other resisting sleep until he'd joined Ken in bed, causes a small smile and a soft affectionate huff to escape the dragon. Wrapping around the other so that his heat and form encase his smaller mate, he lets himself drift off without further thought. He doesn't sleep nearly as long as his wolf, and so does some things to help keep Ken from dwelling on what happened. Starting with cleaning the entryway thoroughly and utterly. After that he checks on the wolf to see if he is still sleeping before taking a quick wash.

That done he sets about a quick trip into the town to show that their Alpha is up and well. However, his entire demeanor tells everyone to not approach as his focus and intent is returning before his little omega awakes. It would not do to have Ken stress right upon awakening. In all the trip takes less than hour and he makes it back before the other is stirring. Pleased to make it back in time, he settles around the curled form in his bed to wait for Ken to wake on his own.

Drifting off himself for a bit, he nonetheless notices when the wolf starts to wake up and rumbles at seeing the other look for him. "You slept well?" He asks rubbing his cheek against the other's from behind.

Ken was flooded with relief and relaxation when he realized Haimo was still there, alive and well. "Mhm..." He hummed out while turning around, cuddling into his mate. "No nightmares this time." He smiled softly, still a tad sleepy as he nuzzled his head against the dragon's chest. He stretched out his body, letting out another wide yawn, blinking a few times to get the sleep out of his eyes.

Breathing in deeply, he looked up at his mate. "You were out." He muttered, not as a question, but as a fact. Slowly sitting up, the young wolf rubbed at his eye before looking at Haimo once more. "Are you sure you're feeling okay?.. Please don't strain yourself too much." He requested softly, gently cupping his cheek to press a warm, affectionate kiss against his lips. Clearly, Ken cared a lot. It was entirely possible he cared more about Haimo than about himself. That was simply how he was.

Haimo loosens his hold enough to let the other shift and turn before dropping a light kiss on Ken's forehead. "I'm glad to hear that." He rumbles, feeling relieved and happy that his wolf was able to sleep peacefully. At the remark he nods and laughs silently at the question before blowing a huff playfully in his mate's face. "I did go out and I am fine. I wanted to make it clear to my clan that their alpha is well thanks to his strength and abilities, but also to having such a caring and attentive mate who was able to tend to me during such a difficult time." Returning the kiss he pulls back with a nip to the full lower lip.

"I am fine pet. You should worry about yourself a little." Tilting his head slightly he thinks for a moment. "I should actually shift soon and hunt. It would be a good stretch for my muscles as well as heal any remaining injuries. Not too mention the heat from the sun." These are said matter-of-factly, but with no real sense of urgency. At least, not until he looks back down at Ken with a heat in his eyes. "Then once I'm feeling more rejuvenated I intend to make good on my promise my little omega. It is a bit soon perhaps, but enjoying you is a pleasure I shall never tire of." His voice deepens and grows to a husky rumble at the mere thought of them coupling and being able to fully enjoy and remember it.
