A Writer's Dream

It had been three years since he had been brought to this pet shop. And three years ago was the last time he had been in his proper form. By nature, he is a neko. But for his skills, he is able to transform into the body of a kitten. Now he was trapped in his pet shop, unknowing to the owners of just what was within this little body, being sold off as a house cat of all things.

It had happened right after he had been out away from his village. He had only gone for a stroll in the forest before he had been trapped. But before anyone could get a glimsp of him, he had transformed into the body of a house cat. No one needed to know that there were still wild anthro's in the forest. He had done his village a favor by hiding his true identity from everyone. But now he were here, in this tiny little pet shop.

He did his best to play the part of a kitten. Playing around in the decently sized cage along with other kittens that the owners had brought in to be sold off. But he was different, even in this form one couldn't help but notice the slight differences if watched long enough. Then again, most people would write it off and think it was just a fluke than anything else. He would never show anyone his true form, or that's what he thought anyways.

Though, it happened all to quickly on one sunny afternoon. Right before the shop closed, he had been taken out of the cage and placed into a new, smaller one before being taken out to a car and being driven off to a new place. His body curled up into a fuzzy ball as his bright green eye's contrasted against his black fur. His eyes had only closed for what felt like a few minutes before he heard the door open and felt the cage moving under him.

A small mewl left him before the cover was taken off the cage. He couldn't help but close his eyes at the blinding light, but once his eyes adjusted he opened them to see that he was now within a rather large room. A grand staircase standing in the middle of it and various doors on either side. His cage was set onto the floor and the door was opened to allow him to get out. But he was leery of what was happening to him.

It took Taki some time before he pushed himself up and timidly made his way to the cage door, his bright eyes darting around to make sure that something bad wasn't going to be happening to him. Unknowing to him, he had just been sold off to someone whom just so happened to be waiting out in their car for their purchase out back. He had to shut his eyes from the blinding light before he was put into a carrier box and taken out to the vehicle. A soft mewl left him as he had to shift his weight in the box to keep himself from falling over.

He came into the store looking for fish food, and came out with the complete opposite. A kitten.

He knew that his little goldfish Omar wouldn't be impressed, but a kitten was just the kind of spirit Olivar Scott wanted around his tiny one bedroom apartment. Omar wasn't much of a help when Oliver came home from a stressful day of school, or a bad date. He was pretty much just eye candy. Something to watch when you were bored.

When Oliver first entered the pet shop, mews and yowls filled his ears. "We got ourselves a fresh batch of kittens," a kid behind the counter called, "pretty annoying, eh?" Oliver nodded meekly. "We don't have enough customers to sell the poor things... I'm pretty sure you're our most popular customer, and all you buy is fish food." In reply, Oliver nodded and smiled. It was unfortunately true. This pet shop had just opened around his campus, so whenever he got off school he'd pick something up.The only customers they really had were students and the occasional parent visiting their kids, but rarely did anyone buy. Most of the time, people came in to look at the animals.

"Maybe I'd be interested?" Oliver shuffled awkwardly and adjusted his scarf. The employee simply stood behind the cash register, his jaw ajar, "You talk?"

Oliver felt a thin blush arise to his cheeks, chucking at the reaction he received.

He was taken to the back of the store toward a small black cage that contained the kittens.

He opened his mouth as if to say something, but only nodded and laughed at the adorable sight.

Looking through them all, the knelt down and poked his finger through to feel their soft fur. One little orange one nibbled and pawed at his finger, treating it like a toy.

“Would you like to see one?”

Oliver nodded.

The employee opened the top of the big cage and let the brunette look through them to see which one caught his eye.

One of them seemed to stand out -- he was quieter than the rest, and didn’t seem to be as active. Oliver pointed to him, and his light green eyes seemed to stare back up at him.

“Ah.. that little guy.. He seems a bit, uhh, slower than the others, y’know?”

He shrugged slightly and nodded. He didn’t mind. He felt that this little guy resembled himself in a way; quiet, and shy. He thought it was cute.

After signing a few papers and picking out a cute little emerald collar to match his new friend’s eyes, the employee packed the little kitten up in a small brown box with a few little holes in the top. Oliver was fidgeting in excitement as he got into his car. He strapped the box down to the seat, and drove home a few blocks. He was glad that he hadn’t walked down to his classes today.

His apartment was small, but it was on the very first floor, leaving him with a nice little backyard and gardening place for his green-thumb. He liked to think it would be a pleasant place for a kitten to explore.

“We’re home!” He whispered quietly into the box before placing it on the floor and opening the lid, letting the little black cat breathe again. First thing he usually did when he got home would either be end to his garden, check his KissKupid profile for any new messages, or just play World of Warcraft. Today, he went straight to his computer and searched for “clever names for black cats”. This immediately brought him to a website containing millions of pet names.

“These don’t sound very clever…” Oliver sighed and looked over to the kitten, cocking his head to the left. “Chester? Kingley? Loofy? Mewington? ... Poe?” His eyes widened. “Poe! That’ll be your name! It has no deeper meaning but, heheh, you look like a Poe.”

The kitten had no idea what was going on as he was placed into a plain box. His ears twitched wildly with a small frightened mewl left him. No matter what he had done, the box was shut without another word. Great... He was being sent off to some person's place. He had been warned in the past that horrible things happened to their kind if they were caught. And it seemed to him that he was going to end up dead... or worse.

The box kept moving on its own and he faught to keep his balance until suddenly everything stopped. His eyes had adjusted to the darkness in the box, save for the small amount of light seeping in from the holes that had been placed for air. Laying himself down and curling up, trying to dig himself into a corner of the box as if it was going to save him from the impending doom that he sworn he was headed for.

The sound around him of an engine starting only had his fur stand on end. What the hell kind of place was he at?! He kept asking himself that. But it was when the sound of the engine had stopped that had him jumping in fright. Once agian the box moved on its own, and he found a hiss escaping him. That was until the box had been opened. He noted the man had not tried to take him out of the box either.

It had taken him a moment, watching the man as if he suspected foul play. Yet, when the man moved away to another part of the room, that is when he slowly peeked his head out from inside of the box. His bright green eye's darting around to see if there was any reason to stay in the box and not get harmed. Finding nothing to prove his point that this was the end, he slowly began to climb out of the box.

Only did he turn the box over as he tumbled over the edge, the box laying top up ontop of him. A startled hiss escaped him as he backed up. Only causing the box to drag across the floor and bump into a wall. Again, another hiss escaped him and his fur stood on end. He couldnt get this thing off of himself! Which was only causing more stress on himself in a strange man's home.

(lol, its alright. You did really well in your post. I didnt see many mistakes at all.)

Oliver continued to talk to himself as ‘Poe’ had his little dispute, clicking away on his computer, pretending the green-eyed kitten knew what he was saying. A sudden bang interrupted his speech, and he immediately spun his chair around toward the sound.

“Oh, oh my.” He placed a hand over his mouth and giggled as he got up to tend to the poor cat.

“Are you okay, Poe?” Oliver knelt down to the box, picking it up gently and sliding it behind him. “Oh jeez, you look just about scared to death..” He tsked the cat gently and scooped him up into his hands. “Let’s find you something to entertain yourself.” Oliver thought about the cliche things you’d use to tease a cat, like a pen, or a piece of string. But Oliver wanted something unique.

“Aha! Omar!”

The little fish’s bowl sat just upon his dresser. Oliver could create a little set of stairs with his drawers to let the kitten stroll up without falling. He had also seen little cats online using sock drawers as beds. That would be adorable~

Since his home was so small, it literally took him about the steps to walk into his bedroom from his living room. He placed Poe on his bed and pulled out his drawers so they were in a stair-like position. “See this little guy? This is Omar, he should keep you busy for a little while.” The goldfish swam up to the top of the tank in search for food, and Oliver tapped some off his flaky fish bits into the water.

“Knock yourself out. I’ll be reading.” He plopped down beside Poe and let himself fall onto his bed. Then he turned onto his shoulder, and grabbed the book from his side table.

Poe as he was named, was currently backed up against the wall. The box that was ontop of him, making his hissing and growling muffled. However, it was when the man's voice reached him and the box being lifted that had him slowly calming down. His bright green eyes lifted for a moment before he was being scooped up into his arms. A soft unsure mewl left him. Where was this man taking him now? It felt strange being carried off.

The man continued to talk and move him to a different room before setting him down on the bed. His tail twitched behind him as he sat down. Watching what this man was doing and only beginning to become curious as to what he was doing with those drawers. Poe's had tilted when he heard the man.

Waiting until the other had moved onto the bed, he jumped down and jumped up the makeshift steps that gave him a way up. He peered into the bowl, watching this new creature he wasnt even sure if he had seen something like this before. His tail dangled over the side of the dresser and twitched as if he were concentrating on what this thing was. Standing after a moment, he paced around the bowl to get a better look. A soft chattering mew leaving his lips as if he were trying to charm the little fish in the process.
