Name: Katsuhiko Takagi (first name, last name)

Height: 1,73m (5ft 8”)

Weight: 60kg (132.28 lbs)

Position: Seke

Likes: coffee (especially vanilla flavoured), waffles, cakes, whipped cream, almost any sweet food, snow, bathing, playing the piano, singing, blue and violet roses

Dislikes: spicy or bitter food, hot weather, loud noises, not being able to lead

Appearance: Always wears clothes made of more exclusive fabrics like silk and likes to wear ornaments/attires, so he keeps wearing a golden necklace, a golden bracelet and a golden ring with an embedded valuable ruby on his left ring finger. That ruby is called ‘Dragoneye’ He usually wears boots/shoes with light heels to pretend to be taller

World: modern world

Bio: Katsuhiko is the son of the marquis of the town and a countess of the northern country. After the death of his father he took over the mansion and the business and became a marquis himself. Even with his handsome appearance and his lightly small figure he can assert himself pretty much and is rather straightforward so he tends to be rude. He doesn’t care much about others and doesn’t believe in love.

Marriage was for money. Sex was to satisfy the lust. That was he told in this noble’s society. Since he went busy to manage the father’s inheritance he had less time to take care of trivial, but necessary things, so he called out for a personal servant who has to take care of everything, like waking him up, cooking his food and that he eats regularly. Additionally he’s really picky about food and tends to nag about it. Since he dislikes bitter food he just can’t stand burnt food – even when there is the slightest burnt mark he refuses to eat it. He has a huge scar on his back which reaches from his left blade bone diagonal to the spin on the middle of his back and a small one over his left collarbone. He tends to have cold hands even when he isn’t freezing.

The life as a noble isn’t that easy. Because of his nice appearance he’s badly wanted by human sellers and also his family is involved into a legend back in history so he’s also wanted by a strange cult. How much truth lies in the rumors of that cult?

Ashuria, a middle-sized town resting at the beautiful and pictorially Helonia Coast was one of the most important towns for import and export in the small country of the mild west of the continent. Even with its lively shipping traffic the whole landscape around the port city was brimming nature and the coast was famous among tourists and rich people. Due to its shipping traffic the town was blessed by wealth.

In the outer district resided the marquis of the town in a huge mansion made of bright stone from high quality which was enthroned in a wide and spacious garden. The whole estate was surrounded by a safe and solid wall. This was the home of Katsuhiko Takagi, the new ruler of Ashuria.

It was early in the morning and the sun shine reached the huge and soft canopy bed in that spacious noble adorned room behind the large window. The nasty sound of a persistant ringing filled the room and the slightly moving person in that bed growled annoyed. With a hit on the top of the alarm clock he intended to stop that obstrusive tone, but his fist only damaged the top and the ringing turned even worse.

“Geez…” the young man with the ebony dyed hair growled as he turned around and his deep purple eyes caught the time. The clock hand was on 6:30am.

Who the hell developed alarm clocks? That person had to be a sadist in their lifetime.

Katsuhiko huffed annoyed and sat up and moved to the edge of his dark purple bed. Still tired he ran his hand through his hair and his gaze wandered to the outside of the window. His sleeping room had bordeaux colored walls and an ebony floor. In front of his bed there was a dark purple carpet. The room’s inventory was an ebony cupboard, a sideboard of the same material, a small desk and a valuable piano in the right corner. On those bordeaux walls were small paintings attached.

Taking another deep breath the 26-year-old managed to get up and made his way to the closet. Katsuhiko wasn’t a fan of mornings especially since he had several sleeping issues. After choosing his clothes he left the room to head to the bathroom. To get to his personal bathroom he had to walk through the main corridor on which walls were huge paintings of medieavel scenarios and lamps in certain intervals. Even when they were in the modern world this mansion looked like it was from a former century. The atmosphere, the inventory, the lifestyle. Everything.

While moody he ran the hot water into the luxury cream-colored corner bath tube. Also the bath room was spacious as the rest of the mansion. It had two square sinks and a separated shower in an extra part of the bath which was almost a small room by itself. Slowly Katsuhiko immersed in the hot water with the foam and leaned backwards, closing his eyes with a soft sigh. Bathing was one of the best moments of the day. He liked the hot water around his body and the soft and sweet smell of cherry from the bath soak. Also he would like to expand the bathing time to eternity, but unfortunately his new position in the society didn’t allow him to waste much time. Being a marquis and ruler of a whole town was really troublesome and exhausting. After his father’s sudden death he was forced into that role. Katsuhiko was an only child so there was no other possible follower. But along with his death a lot of servants left the mansion. From time to time he noticed the shortage of personnel and thought of searching for a personal servant who would only take care of his own needs.

“Oh, shit!” left the males lips when he noticed he almost fell asleep. After washing himself he hasty dried himself off and slipped into the clothes. Purple shorts, black pants and a soft button-down shirt made of white silk. He shortly combed his hair, used a discreet fragrance and put on his golden necklace, bracelet and ring before he left.

Spiritless he made his way through the corridor to the room door beside the sleeping room and sat down on the leathery executive chair behind the huge desk which was in the middle of the bureau he just entered. The male pushed the button of the PC with his foot then put on some black shoes with small heels. Since he wasn’t the tallest he kept wearing those kinds of shoes. After all a noble should be authoritative so a slight taller appearance supported this fact. As if his rude tone wouldn’t gave him enough respect…

The noble nibbled on a pen while waiting for the PC to be booted up.

He doesn't like being caged and tries his best to avoid such a thing if he ever got in trouble with his master. If he did he would think of ways to get out of the cage, and would even go far as changing into a small animal to escape. If he stays in a confined space for to long he would develop a tantrum to try and break the cage or at least make it so he could escape.

But one night when he and his sister were allowed to hunt for a night, he stumbled across a black van and wanted to investigate.

He was capture and repeatedly beaten, soon forgetting of his past life, and learned to hate humans and of what they've done to him. He resented these monsters and tried to escape from their grasps many times, but failed each time due to the shock collar that was put on him. He later re-learned to change his form to any type of animal that he has eaten or seen. He re-discovered his love for music and would often 'sing' or in his dog-like form 'howl' along with the sounds. When he was bought he learned that he could turn into a human and would often try and trick or in some cases eat the one that bought him. He was sent back his price keeps getting lower and his cage more guarded.

They would often starve him to keep him from changing forms and from fighting back. The tranquilizers that once worked no longer poses to have any more effect to him. His hatered for humans increased the longer he stayed in captivity. He would often use tricks to get out of cages but later learned that he would never be purchased as long as he looked like a dog. But due to his pride he would never take on his human form in the cage.

Likes: Food, any kind of food, any music that he can get lost in. He loves to trick people into thinking that he's harmless. He is proud of his strength and loves to be praised. He likes large spaces where he can run, and the forest where he can be free from prying eyes. He likes the color red. And loves to relax as often as possible.

"Indigo! Wake up you filthy animal!" Victor heard someone call him by his Nickname. He gave a soft growl and stood up looking at the disturbance of his slumber. It was like this every time. Some guard would come to him wake him up at random times and leave. But this one stayed. He rather liked this one because he could imagine that fat flesh running down his throat, the fatty blood quenching his thirst. His stomach growled. He turned away from the man and laid down again. 'I can't eat him if I can't get to him.' he thought saddened by the mere thought of iron bars, barb wire, and what seems like an electric fence around his cage is keeping him from feeding on these low lives. He attempted to try and sleep again knowing that it wasn't going to be his day to leave, but he felt something poke him harshly on his side. He tried not to react to it, figuring that it was someone trying to get his attention. He refused to be bought by someone that would poke him constantly and treat him like a mutt. He gave a soft growl to ward them away. "Indigo!" the large man called and jabbed the poor creature in his side once more.

With his quick movements the fat man didn't see what happened but suddenly started yelling. Indigo snapped his jaws around the mans arm that held the stick, his eyes a small dim blue flame-like pupil started to grow brighter the more the blood ran from the mans arm. He tore some flesh away and swallowed it eagerly until something around his neck started tightening. He instinctively released the arm and started gasping for air, soon collapsing on the floor of his cage. "I forbid!" he heard the voice finally, and gave a soft whimper. It was a few moments after the words were said, did the collar around his neck finally loosened. Victor laid there gasping for air. "I don't think you would want this one, he's a little. . . temperamental."

"He only lashed out because you kept poking him like you would a tiger in a cage. They can only take so much before they bite a hand off. He's also unusual, and from what his papers say, very protective."

"Uh. . yeah, he's very protective." Victor looked at the men conversing and wondered if he really was being sold. It's been 3 years since his last purchase. And if anyone that hasn't been sold in at least three months was killed off. He was an exception because of his unique qualities of shifting into many kinds of animals, and the fact that he tries to eat anyone that even dares to touch the cage. Tranquilizers have stopped working on him because of overuse. He was beginning to get used to the shocks from his cage, so the last resort was starving him. It's been 3 days since his last meal, one more day and he wouldn't be able to hold this form anymore. And he refuses to turn into a human in the cage. Luckily he gets fed on the third day. On the third day a guard goes to him and gives him his food, and an added special treat if he's been good. It would sometimes be more food, a cheese burger, half a sandwich, or a chocolate bar. Those were starting to get more frequent since he loved sweets, and only one guard would do this for him. He liked that one enough to not think of eating the guy.

"Indigo is a real sweetheart once you get to know him, ain't that right buddy?" his favorite guard came back and Victor wagged his tail. He knew he wasn't going to get any special treat. From the dripping blood on his maw, and the bloody arm of the fat tasty guard. "Well, since you've been a bad boy you only get half a serving." the sternness in the guards tone was unusual to his ears. He was used to getting praise from the man. But it was to be expected since he nearly took off an arm from a 'fellow' guard. Victor gave a soft whimper and put his head down.

"Are you crazy? That beast is dangerous! There is nothing sweet about him!" he heard another guard speak up. He also bit that guard to and the scars on his arm and face and the slight limp is proof of that.

"Well maybe if you stop calling beast, and poking him he would act nicer." the nice guard said and the other scoffed. The nice guard gave a soft sigh and turned back to Victor, "Guess I won't see you anymore, huh?" Victor picked up his ears. 'Not see him anymore? Is he going to be put down? Is he going to get fired? What is happening?' Victor started to panic. "You're going to a new home, buddy." the guard smiled sadly at him, and Victor gave a soft whimper. No he liked this guard. He wanted to stay with him. He looked over to the men in a silent conversation. He then folded his ears back and laid down. He wanted to stay with the nice guard that gave him treats, and praised him for being good. He heard the cage door open, and felt a kind hand on his head. He was too sad to react to the nice loving touch that could only belong to one man.

"He's not going to hurt anyone, you can all stand down," the guard petting Victor lovingly said. Victor soon became numb to the touch, not wanting to feel such a love. "Come on, buddy. Heel." he felt something go around his neck. Victor with a sigh stood up and followed the nice guard that treated him so well. "Sit." Victor did as the man commanded and sat down.

"Hm. So well behaved. In the right hands."

"Tony, make sure that bea. . uh Indigo is safely secured."

"Yes sir, okay Indigo. Come with me and we'll load you up in the van. Heel." Tony said and Victor followed him.

"Here are the list of commands for Indigo that Tony had taught him. You shouldn't have any trouble, but just in case will give you the special collar if he ever misbehaves. Those commands are also on the list."

Tsuka.png

Victor was lead to the van that would take him far away from this place. He was put into a smaller cage the door left open while Tony pet him and gave him his serving of food. Victor was shocked to see that his food was his treat. But a full sandwich was there as well as a chocolate bar. He looked up at his guard and wagged his tail and waited to be told to eat.

"Victor," Tony said, this man was the only one that knew his true name. "You be a good boy okay? I don't want to see you back here again." Victor tilted his head a bit, "I don't want to see you sad anymore. I know what this place can do to you. And I don't want that for you anymore. So please. Be good." Victor could smell the sadness on the man, and knew that Tony meant what he said. "Speak." Tony said, and Victor was now free to talk until Tony said something.

"I will, Tony. I'm. . . I'm. . ." he felt a hand on his head and leaned to the touch. "I'm a good boy. And truthfully, you're the only one I wouldn't eat. You're to skinny for that." He heard Tony laugh. "Be safe. I. . . I wouldn't forgive myself if something happened to you." He wanted to say that he loved the man, but thought better against it. He smelled sadness again, and slight disappointment.

"I will Victor. I have a new command to teach you." Victor looked back up at Tony wondering about this new command. "This is only a command where you can freely speak your mind, do as you wish, and you will know this command. You'll know it so well that you won't even question it further. You'll be able to smell it no matter what." Tony started to get up, and lock the cage door, and his hands now rested on the doors of the van. Tony looked at him a sad smile on his lips, and Victor knew instantly of what was about to happen. He was never coming back. He was never going to see Tony again. He knew Tony only lived to see him. And on some nights he would smell it on Tony. He could smell the sadness, the depression, all the unhappy feelings. Victor stood up and gave a soft whimper. A single tear rolled down Tony's cheeks. Victor shook his head, wanting this to go back to being happy. Tony often told him of his life, of how he lived alone, that no one knew him personally like he did. No one. Would. Notice. "Victor. I love you." the doors shut and the van started moving. Victor began howling, and tried to break out of the cage. It was no use, he felt like the world was beginning to crash down on him. Everything he knew was gone. He looked down at the full sandwich and chocolate bar. He would still smell the love on it. It nearly filled the whole back of the van. Victor sat down once more, his favorite guard now gone. He gave a soft growl, hating himself for not saying it.

He bent down and began to eat. He then realized that this was the last day no matter what had happened he would never see Tony again. Even if he were to stay. The sandwich was made specially for him. 'He. . . really couldn't take it anymore. Tony, I'll be good. I promise.' he thought and laid down in the small cage.

It was now morning, he can actually see morning light. How long has it been since he saw the sun? Last night was horrible. He gave a soft sigh and ate the chocolate bar. He looked out the little window and seen trees. Trees! He could now smell the fresh air, and Tony. . . Victor watched the trees go by, and soon gave way to a different object. It was a little more clear then before and wondered where he was that had all these trees! He suddenly felt like a little puppy and began to get impatient. He wanted to know where he was. The van stopped and the doors opened. The sun streamed in he didn't even mind the yellow glow, it soon gave way to a green hue. His normally black fur shined blue, the dark band of green fur around his neck turned lighter with the black showing properly. He watched as two men grabbed his cage and started carrying him into the enormously large building. He wished to stay outside a while longer but knew that he couldn't be bad and try to escape. He had to be good. Or as good as he can and not get bad enough to get thrown back. The inside was spacious!

It was huge! He wasn't sure if he ever been in a place like this. 'Amazing! But. . . what is that smell?' he thought he was soon set down. He then wondered if he should stay in his hell hound form or if he should turn into a dog of some kind. He decided against it, and figured it would be best if he were his true self inside and pretend while outside of the house.

"If this beast gives you any trouble, be sure to send him back right away. He would only get worse if he stays." Victor heard this and growled softly. "Ah, shut up mutt!" Victor threw himself at the cage towards the insulting man. The guy stepped back and Victor could smell fear but it was soon covered up by anger. Victor locked eyes with the man and growled soft and low. He could smell nervousness coming from the man and he started to shake. Victor growled a bit louder, and the man soon knelt to the floor and started to reach a hand out. Victor flicked his tongue over his maw and tasted the mans obedience. Soon he was about to feast on the hand. But it was torn away quickly by the other guard, knocking the hypnotized man into consciousness once more. 'Damn!' Victor growled.

"Try not to look into his eyes. . . he's a real snake when he wants to be. . or hungry." the guard said picking up the dazed man. "Huh. . . Indigo. . . make it work. . . please?" the guard said to him, Victor growled hackles rising. The man sighed and soon left with the dazed guard.

When the cage was delivered by those men a young maid answered the door. The young woman in her early 20’s with the light brown-copper hair welcomed them with a smile at first. “Good morning. Welcome, gentlemen.” She spoke cheerful, but soon her smile disappeared after seeing the scenario outside. “Eh?” Speechless and perplex she watched them carrying the cage into the entrance hall of the mansion. “B- beast? Trouble? Send him back?” she recalled the phrases and then her eyes widened when she saw that abnormal creature inside that cage. A cold shower ran down her spine and covered her mouth with one hand to restrain a scream of fear. She almost freaked out. Without passing any words from her lips she also watched those men leaving again. After the door was shut she nervously walked up and down panicked. Then she noticed an envelope laying on the cave. It was addressed to her master. Who sent such a dangerous looking creature to someone?

“I- I call for my master. J- just wait a little longer… uhm… doggy.” She said quiet, her voice trembling of fear and soon rushed up the wide stairs which led to the upper corridor.

Katsuhiko did some clicks with the mouse to open several programs. He crossed his legs to get into a more comfortable position as he knew he wouldn’t leave the seat for a long while.

Before he could finally start with his work he heard the door bell, a small commotion and then the door shut. What was that? A look at the clock. 7:30am. Was the postman that early?

Not paying further attention the male turned back to the screen with the huge amount of letters and numbers when someone knocked at the door. “Yes, come in.” he answered and didn’t spend a look when the young woman entered and bowed politely before she began to speak. “Good morning, master. Excuse me to interrupt your important work-“ “What is it, Taya?” he cut her off forcing her only to speak what was necessary.

“Uhm… some men delivered a huge… package for you, milord. It is more… a cage with an enormous dog in it.” To think of those terrifying eyes and that growl made her shiver in fear again. Finally he paid attention to the maid and raised an eyebrow. “A cage with a dog? Why should I bother taking care of a pet? Send it back, Taya.” he spoke unimpressed and turned to the screen again. Taya got nervous and added quiet: “There is also a letter for you, Takagi-sama.”

Hearing the maid being persistent Katsuhiko growled annoyed and stood up, heading towards the door. Taya led her master towards the entrance hall were the cage still was. “Here, master.” When the male with the ebony hair saw it and the creature behind the metal bars he paused short before he slowly made his way down the stairs, his right hand sliding over the handrail. His eyes examined the creature. “A dog? I don’t think you can call this really a dog.” In his voice laid a bit surprise yet he hid the strange uneasiness he felt inside him. He moved closer, walking over the marbled floor, leaving a small knocking noise from heel to ground with every step. When Taya told him about a pet he never imagined to come across such a creature. He folded his arms while looking at Victor, his left forefinger resting on bottom lip. The male pretend to be cold as ever, but he also found himself being curious.

“Well, it’s really nice of the person to send you such an uncommon pet, right, milord?” the female babbled unsure, feeling very uneasy around the cage. “I mean I bet he could be really… uhm… cute..?”

“Shut up.” The male hissed annoyed and the maid flinched and apologized immediately. “By the way why are you keeping hanging around here? Work isn’t finishing by itself.” Katsuhiko gave her an angered glare before Taya gulped and left in silence.

Then he picked up the letter which were also delivered and leaned against one of the small pillars of the hall. The handwriting of the writer was nice and also very well-known by him. “Tse, what is she thinking?” he murmured after reading the letter and crouched down to face the caged beast more talking to himself. “She said I like challenges. Well, this time it might be a difficult one.” Again he had a look inside the letter than his purple eyes went back to the creature. “Indigo is your name as it seems. I would say ‘welcome’ if I would care about. From now on I’ll be your owner. Your master. So I expect you to follow any rule. If I see you behave you may get out of this thing.” He wasn’t sure if the beast could understand him, but he guessed so. Even when he spoke those self-confident words towards the other his heartbeat increased and he still felt a slight fear deep inside. To own him was far more than a simple challenge.

The young woman tasted of fear. He flicked a tongue out to taste more of it, and sat there and tried to not think of eating the poor girl to the bone. His eyes followed her movements he smelled the unease, and fright from her. He tried to act cute but he figured it wasn't working since he looked like a beast from hell. . well that is what he is. He wagged his tail a bit, his snake tongue hanging out. He heard her speak then leave. 'Nice place,' he thought as he looked around. 'I wonder what I can destroy in here?' he added the thought and gave a small chuckle to himself. 'I wonder if these people are edible? Or would they feed me proper food? Well I wouldn't mind if they gave me dog food. It's still food.' he stomach growled.

He decided to try and chew through the cage, but it gave small shocks to him and he soon became irritated and stopped. 'I have no choice but to wait for the pampered brat to show up.' he gave a soft sigh and looked around he soon the heard voices. The female from before was speaking. 'Taya. . . so that's her name. And the male Taya is speaking to is Takagi. So does that mean I belong to him? Great.' he thought and tuned out their conversation.

Soon the door opened and Taya stepped out leading someone. He figured it was Takagi. 'I wonder if I can eat him. If I eat him then maybe I can leave this place. I have to play this smart, the last five times didn't go so well because I was to eager and hungry.' he heard the young woman speak. 'She has a nice voice. I wonder if she can sing. .' it would do nicely if she could sing, he always loved hearing women with nice voices.

Looking over to Takagi and his remark of 'dogs' he dubbed it a good idea to stay in this form instead of turning into an actual dog. But then he caught the uneasy scent. His ears perked at this scent and wondered what else this man is hiding from his subordinates. 'He sounds cold, but he's scared. Maybe I can use it. Maybe I can use him.' flicking his tongue out to taste more of this feeling. He wanted more. He forgot how much he craved the taste of these feelings. How they smelled like. Maybe he could use it to quench that thirst as well.

Takagi was now curious. Victor did his best at keeping still and watching these humans look him over. He then heard Taya speak and turned to look at her. 'She's willing to give me a chance, how sweet. Okay, I won't eat her. For now.' he gave his tail a soft little wag to the girl and turned to the male. Victor folded his ears back at the males harsh words. 'You got it wrong. It's suppose to show your enemies your ugly side and show your commoners your kind side. At least show a little respect for those working for you. This place is also understaffed. Maybe they left because he is a terrible leader. Or maybe I should put an end to it and eat him. Although he won't be of any use to me if he isn't an animal but still I'd be doing this place a favor.' he thought.

He flicked his tongue out once more to get a better taste of the man that knelt down before his cage. 'Challenge? You think you can take me on? I know what you are feeling, sir, and right now you are scared.' he flicked his tongue out again watching the man curiously. The taste of fear soon burning into his nose. His tongue flicked across his maw. Then his nickname was said. 'You will never know my true name.' he thought and wanted to growl. He held his voice carefully and watched the man.

He tilted his head at the word 'Master' and wanted to laugh. 'I hope he doesn't expect me to lick his hand for gratitude. And what rules? Who's rules? I'll break your rules, and break you, and you have to obey my rules.' he thought. He behaved himself pretty well, much better then his last meal. The man let him out of his cage within the minute and remembered the taste of him. Oh so delicious! 'Be good.' he heard Tony's words ring in his ear. 'That's right, I have to be good. . . well try to be good.' He watched the man still tasting and smelling the fear, 'No you will let me out now,' he gave a soft growl. He hated the cage. And the man was close to his cage so if he pushed himself forward he would be able to at least get a small bite.

He threw himself forward towards the man his growl loud, the small shocks soon becoming larger and started to crack. He pulled himself away from the wall of his cage, his blue flame pupils glowing brighter. He gave a low growl and waited for the noise of the electric cage to die down before he would throw himself to the man again. As soon as the noise died down he threw himself against the cage once more his jaws open and clamping down on the bars of his cage.

He managed to bend them a bit before he had to retreat. He growled again more threateningly. 'Just try and 'own' me.' he thought waiting for the cage to calm down once more. He flicked a tongue out wondering what the human tasted like now, he hoped more fear.

'Victor, you be a good boy, okay?' Victor gave another growl. 'I'm not getting out of this fucking cage! Alright, calm down. Calm. . fuck it!' he thought and turned himself into a king cobra and striking at the cage. When that didn't work he started turning into a lion, then a wolf, he went as far as turning into a mouse to try and squeeze through the bars. He soon shifted back to his hell hound form and growled loudly.

Nothing was working.

He wanted out.

He then realized the mistake he made. He shifted. 'No, no, no, no! Now I'm nothing but a show pony for this blasted fool!' he growled again towards the man. 'If you ever put me in a show case your life will end!' He made a hissing sound.

The noble stood kneeling in front of the cage to examine the abnormal creature within. As long as the other stood behind those bars he had no need to fear anything though. He noticed the blue shimmer of the black fur and the flicking snake tongue. Indeed the creature was also very interesting. Soon when Katsuhiko felt safer the creature darted towards him, fortunately was hold back by the shock cage. But the male shrank away, jumped on his feet and did several steps back yet feeling a burning sting on his cheek, caused by a bleeding deep scratch he just got. With widened eyes he saw the beast rampaging in that small prison, trying to break out. Fixed in his moves his fear raised with every second, seeing the bars bending. When the creature would ever get out of the cage he would get killed. The male had to come up with something, but there was nothing he could use to tame that violent beast. He turned his hands to loose fists to stop them trembling. “Tse…” he lightly flicked his tongue dissatisfied over his own helplessness.

But then his eyes caught something incredible. That being suddenly switched forms to different animals and used their might for breaking through the cold metal. Even when it was a truly fascinating view several showers were running down his spine every time he thought the cage would yield and break. Finally Indigo gave up and a relieved sigh passed the nobles lips and slight color returned to the ashen face. Soon a smirk appeared on his face, getting hold of himself. “How bad that the cage is so solid, ne? And the little shocks are keeping you imprisoned.”

Before he could say anything else Taya rushed from rear rooms of the ground floor, wearing an apron over her maiden dress. “Are you alright? I heard several noises and loud growls.” She asked worried and came closer. Hasty the noble whipped away the leaking blood from his cheek. “As you can see everything is just fine.” He spoke and folded his arms, looking away.

“It sounded really worse, but glad to see you safe, master.” She moved towards the cage, noticing the bend bars. Her clothes smelled like sweet food yet she was inside the kitchen before she popped up. “He is really mighty. When he act like any other animal then it may be good to open that cage. Several animals are aggressive when they don’t feel well.” But opening the cage was impossible. “Takagi-sama where is he from? And does he have a name?” Taya asked her rude master curious.

“Indigo seems to be his name.” the male replied, leaning against one of the pillars again. “Probably from some illegal sellers, similar to human sellers.” It was incomprehensible why his own mother had business with such illegal sellers. Those people were far the worst humans – if they could be called ‘human’. They were disgusting and the places the victims were kept were the hell on earth.

Taya tilted her head. “Human sellers?” But Katsuhiko refused to talk anything else about that topic. It was a red rag to him; his hands resting on his upper arms tighten the grip into his shirt.

“I wonder if he’s hungry.” She mentioned in a soft voice “I’m about to cook either way. So, I hope you like pancakes, Indigo-kun.” The female with green eyes gave Indigo a short smile and then disappeared back into the kitchen again.

“That’s ridiculous…” the male hissed. He ran his finger over the wound on his cheek again which was still bleeding. It was probably much safer to return that creature, but also there were so many possibilities Indigo could be used once he knew his place.

Then the kind maid returned with an adorned and a simple plate. On the adorned plate there were six small rolled pancakes, decorated with chocolate sauce and whipped cream, in each one pinned a golden needle which could be used as cutlery to pick up the pancakes. On the other plate were also six pancakes arranged in a circle without any sauce or cream. With a polite bow she handed the adorned plate to her master and turned to the cage, placing the second plate inside it. “Hope you like pancakes. Enjoy them.”

“Taya.” Once she heard the rough tone of the marquis she flinched and turned to him. “Y- yes, milord?”

“You didn’t expect me to eat here in the middle of the entrance next to that beast?” His eyes turned to a cold glare.

“Well…” she searched for suitable words, but giggled lightly. “Having a good meal together is a good start of a friendship, master. Hope the meal will taste well. Now, please excuse me, milord.” She bowed and quickly left before Katsuhiko could shout on her.

“Tse…” he let out before nibbling at the first pancake. “There isn’t anything like that. Anything like friendship.” The male didn’t believe in friendship. Neither friendship nor love. Any cooperation was for a certain purpose. Nothing was based on feelings. So it was ever said. So he had ever seen.

With a sigh he looked over to Indigo. “You should eat them. They’re good.” His voice was less harsh than before. The reason could be the smooth taste of the pancakes which tickled his tongue. The noble did love swet food and Tayas pancakes were one of the best.

‘So… what next?’ he thought after finishing breakfast. The cage had to be removed from the entrance hall. It couldn’t stay there forever. But where else could it be placed? The safest place would probably adeep cellar or anything like this too keep Indigo imprisoned, but there was no suitable room down there. So Katsuhiko decided to let Indigos cage carried to the guest room while he planned to order special guards to look over his new ‘pet’. At first he ordered two additional servants to carry the cage to the upper floor towards the guest room. On the way his mobile rang.

“Yes? Takagi here?” he answered the call in his continuous unfriendly tone. On the other side was a counterparty.

“Hmmm… I received your request, yes.”

“No, not yet. There was… an urgent issue I had taken care of.”

“The meeting has to be delayed? Ok, the appointment will be still today? 3:00pm is just fine. I’ll be there. Bye.”

The call ended when they reached the guest room, the cage was placed on the bright carpet and the servants left. Beech ornaments encircled the white ceiling and was on each corner on the white walls, the inventory also was kept in a brighter wooden material. In the middle was a smaller canopy bed. Katsuhiko had a look around the room. With additional things he might keep Indigo imprisoned in that room.

The noble sat on the bed and crossed his legs, keeping a safe distance. “This was an exception that you got food just now.” he began calm and cold, yet it was an uneasy feeling being alone with Indigo. “When you behave you will get food and it will be good ones. But if you fail you will have to starve. Also as I said when you keep behaving well I will free you from that cage. Simple rules for now.” Honestly Katsuhiko couldn’t think of any important rule for now. After all he was been thrown into this situation now. He lightly twitched at his shirt’s collar as a sign of his inner disturbance.

'I will eat you to the grave!' Indigo hissed again but turned to look at Taya. She smelled sweet! He gave a light wag of his tail smelling the sweet smell. 'Okay, I like her. If she can keep smelling sweet I might not bite her. . . if she doesn't mind a little nibble.' he watched Taya a little more curious of her. When she mentioned if he liked pancakes his perked up. 'Wait. . . no! Take me with you!' He turned towards where she left and sat down waiting for her return.

He seen her return and smelled the sweetness on the plates. 'Taya, sweetheart! You are my favorite!' he gently flicked his tongue in a sort of licking motion on Taya's hand as she set down his plate. He looked up when the man spoke and gave a soft growl to him for being rude to his servants. He was glad that she left before Takagi could yell at her some more. He wouldn't be able to stand for it he started yelling. He might ruin his pancakes that Taya made for him specially. 'Not a believer in friends, huh? Noble bastard should learn some manners. I know mine.' he thought as he waited to be told to eat. He didn't like it, but it was one rule that Tony made sure he followed. Other then his dog commands this was one command he can't break no matter what. It didn't matter from who, as long as he trusts the food that was provided. The pancakes in his cage made his mouth water, his stomach started growling at him for not eating the food.

He looked up at Takagi when he said it was okay to eat, he watched him eat the one decorated with chocolate and whip cream. 'She could have been a little kinder with mine. Oh well it's food!' he thought and dug into his pancakes making sure to savor his first bite. 'If I were a cat I'd be purring right now~' he thought his tail wagging slightly. Finishing his pancakes and polishing off the plate as best he could from it's crumbs he laid down satisfied. He was so glad that there was at least one kind soul here. He examined the bent bars carefully and remembered the taste of Takagi's blood. 'Tasted sweet. Does he eat a lot of sweet food?' he wondered.

He looked to his new transporters, and started to wonder where he was going. He didn't feel the need to eat anymore so he stayed still as best as he could so as to not cause them to drop his cage. He heard something ringing and looked to Takagi and listened to him speak. 'Well this urgent issue feels honored. I wonder what the possibilities of me breaking out of this thing while hes away. Unless he's planning on setting up a security around me.' he thought.

He watched as his cage was set down, and looked at the male sitting on the bed. 'Simple rules. But once I'm out of this cage you have to think of a better strategy. You seen what I can do, and my only guess is that you haven't seen the list of commands for me and my special collar. If he gets a hold of it, I might have to think of a better way to destroy him. Eating him is out of the question, so if he gets that list I'll just have to behave and maybe get him to trust me. . . I hope I can do this. For now, I need to focus on getting out.' he thought and looked at his bent cage bars and flicked out his tongue. He looked at the man and seen him twitch slightly. 'He's thinking? Maybe the sweetheart can help me out? Once he leaves I'll start howling. I can only hope that she opens the door. . . maybe I can act cute? Aggressive didn't work, the only thing I did was misshapen my cage.' he thought and turned into a little kitten. 'Ah! It was starting to get cramped in here,' he gave a soft purr and stretched out on the floor of his cage.

'Maybe I'll just take a little nap,' he thought closing his eyes. He barely slept on his way over, and the thoughts of being in that van only brought a painful memory. He yawned and tried to doze in the cage, it was the only thing he can do until he's let out. That and he also enjoyed being a little kitten, one of his little guilty pleasures. They cause more havoc then a dog, and still get away with it because of their cute spell they put over the humans eyes. Well he thought so. 'I'll follow your rules until I'm out of this thing.' were his last thoughts before sleep overcame his tiny calico kitten body.

The noble took the letter which was delivered with Indigo in his hands and started to re-read it. Maybe there was information he had overread. Suddenly his mobile was ringing again and left out an annoyed huff before answering. It was the same guy as before.

“What is it?” he asked unfriendly. A tone that wasn’t suitable neither for his own position nor to speak with someone else out of this society.

“A crime? I don’t care. The police should take care of it.”

“Uncommon? A ship?” The male frowned while listening to the other and bend the letter forwards and backwards along with his raising anxiety.

“Ok. Should we meet at your estate? ..Alright, I’ll be there right away.”

Immediately after the call had ended Katsuhiko stood up and tossed the letter on the bed and left the room with gritted teeth. The information he just got were disturbing and even the others tone sounded worried. “Taya! Call for the chauffeur! I need to go to Earl Windhoff right away! It’s urgent!” he shouted before he entered his bureau. He grabbed a small black leather messenger bag, put in some documents and left the room in a hurry, running down the stairs and almost collided with the maid. “M- master…!” “I’ll be back in the evening. Can’t say when so no need to prepare dinner.” With those words the noble rushed outside the mansion and waited for the black shimmering car. He moved up and down impatiently biting on his bottom lip. ‘He should hurry. I can’t waste time. I need to know the details of the issue. And when it gets in public it will cause a problem for the ship traffic.’

Finally the car arrived and an older man in his 50’s got out and opened the car door on the other side and bowed politely. “A blessed morning, young master. Where may milord wants to be brought to?”

Hasty the noble took his seat and growled that the chauffeur had to hurry and told him the address. Soon the black car left the estate.

The door of the guest room was opened and the young maid entered, carrying a bucket with soap water, a mop and a sponge while lightly humming a melody. Then she saw a cat instead of Indigo. A cat? Wasn’t there Indigo? Was he some kind of transformer?

“Uhm, hello, Indigo-kun, I didn’t know you would be here.” She said and went in the adjoining room - an exquisite bathroom - and started to clean it while keep humming her melody. After a while she came back with a porcelain bowl - normally just a decoration - filled with water and put it in the cage with a smile. Seeing the small body of the lovely cat laying on the hard cold ground triggered compassion. She went to the closet and took out a fluffy pillow and a thin blanket. Somehow she was able to manage them inside the cage, but accidentally touched one metal bar with her arm. “Ouch.” She flinched and hold her arm when she was hurt by the voltage. A red burning mark appeared on the skin which had contact with the bar. Voltage and a very solid metal cage… Indigo had to be powerful and was feared by a lot of people as it seemed.

Taya stood kneeling in front of the prison feeling somehow sorry for that creature which was curled up as a cat. “You must be lonely, ne? Well, that’s the only thing I can do for you for now. “ Then she paused and continued calm: “And I don’t think Takagi-sama is a good owner for you. He… is not very kind. That’s why most of the servants left after he got the position of his father who passed away a short while ago.” The female couldn’t help, but to share her sorrows and thoughts with animals. “He isn’t a bad person… at least I think so.” She watched the curled up cat and giggled. “I wonder if I may touch you? Your fur looks so fluffy.” Slowly she reached for the small body. The sight of the cat form made her being careless

Meanwhile Katsuhiko had arrived at the Earl’s estate and was guided from the other’s butler through the modern building towards a big room where he was welcomed from the Earl. “Welcome at my moderate estate, marquis Takagi, please have a seat.” The man with the almost complete grey hair said with a warm smile and offered the young ruler a seat on the coffee colored leathery couch which was in the middle of the room. The vitreous coffee table was the center of the room and on each side a long couch. At the end of the room as a glass front which turned the room into a bright and friendly light.

“Morning.” The male replied and sat down, crossing his legs. “What’s the issue you want to speak out of the sudden?” The Earl didn’t tell him the details on the phone. That’s why he was even more bothered. Also he knew that man from several previous meetings along with his father. He was a long time counterparty of the Takagis. Earl Windhoff was informed about crimes when they were rare, weird and a possible problem for the whole town.

The other brought two small glasses and poured some plum whine into each one then took a seat at the opposite of the marquis. With a pleased grin he took his glass and sipped the wine. “Ah, the selection is very well this year. It’s as sweet as you like.”

“I don’t want to repeat myself, Earl Windhoff.” Katsuhikos sight turned to a scowl. He wasn’t a fan of small talk at all and additionally he was too bothered. But the other gave a short laugh. “You are always so serious, Katsuhiko-kun.” While being alone the older man switched to a less formal address. After all he knew the young man across the coffee table since he was a child. Then he took some sheets and began: “Last evening a ship was found near the haven and was dragged to the base to investigate it. It was a foreign transport ship from the western countries across the sea. The goods were burnt down and the crew missing. At least that was assumed, but… the strangest part was found inside the cabinets.”

Katsuhiko listened to the man with the grey hair and the dark grey suit in silence, resting his back at the backrest and sipped the sweet wine. His eyes were focused on the other, paid all his attention to the slightest details he received from the man’s speech.

“Finally the police found the crew - dead. They were literally slaughtered, probably tortured and pinned up at the walls. In the end there was no trace of an offender even after the special unity investigated the whole ship. But there is at least one hint: Strange hieroglyphics which were written at the walls.”

No trace? Tortured and slaughtered people? Left hieroglyphics? An uneasy cold shower ran down his spine and the young noble nervously bit on the edge of the valuable glass after asking the man for photos of the happening. The man nodded and warned him that they were not that harmless. Soon he spoke his warnings he passed him some photos of the cabinets. Katsuhiko sipped on the wine and choked on it once he saw them, coughed badly. The blood covered garbled corpses didn’t caught his main attention, no, his eyes focused on the hieroglyphics. Those leters were written in an ancient long forgotten language which died in the early mediaeval, but Katsuhiko was able to read it.

His heartbeat increased and all this caused a terrible feeling in him and looked over to the older man, hiding his confusion.

“It’s similar to the incident when viscount Shimada was murdered.” The Earl admitted. The young noble’s eyes widened while recalling his sentence disbelieving. He almost jumped on his feet. All these information were new to him. He only knew that the viscount was murdered in his own sleeping room. The details were unknown to him until now.

Earl Windhoff expected such a reaction und continued in a lower voice that he wanted to consider the young noble’s feelings. Viscount Shimada was one of the few in whose presence Katsuhiko felt comfortable. Then a year ago he received the message that he was dead. Murdered. The offender never was found.

“Send all information about the crime which involved Wataru and all you have and will receive from the current issue.” The male spoke hectic which was unusual for him. Then he took out some documents and put them on the table. “Here is the first half of the datas you requested. I have to go now and investigate the information you will send me.” With those last words the ebony haired man left the room in a hurry.

Victor's ear twitched at the sound of Takagi's harsh tone. Keeping his eyes closed and pretending to sleep he listened to the one sided conversation. 'Sounds like the princess is in distress. Should I save the poor helpless victim?' he mused to himself. 'No, she must be somewhere else. Hostages are no longer kept with the criminal. So where could she be? Right under our noses? No, all to easy. She must be kept close, but far from the savior. I wonder what the criminal would do to the helpless pitiful victim?' he thought tasting the anxiety on the poor helpless princess. As soon as the man left the room he gave a soft purring sigh and tried to sleep once more. He heard the muffled voice behind the closed door, “Earl Windhoff. . . I think I heard of that name before from a previous 'Master'. Oh well, none of my concern,” he yawned stretching out his limbs before curing back up again.

He was just starting to doze before he heard the door open once more. 'What am I a circus attraction?! Leave me alone already!' he wanted to growl out to the intruder but remained motionless and only hoped that they keep their distance if they want to keep what is called their arms. 'More like chew toys. Tasty chew toys. . .' the thought of food started making him hungry. 'Actually go ahead and stick your hand in here and pet the loveliest and fluffy kitty you've ever seen.' he thought waiting. Scent wasn't in his foggy mind and instead he listened for his prey to step closer.

His ear twitched at the sound of a voice he didn't quite recognize. He heard something invade his cage but he knew better to wait. He knew from previous encounters that he needs to wait before he attacks. He felt his fur move towards something and felt uncomfortable but waited. They always stick their hands where they weren’t suppose to and he practiced it enough times to wait for the them to have an urge to reach in once more. He twitched at the sound of something in pain. Everything in his body screamed at him to attack now while he still had the chance. He forced his body to lay still. Then his nose caught the scent of something. Something delicious. Burning meat.

Soon. Soon he would be able to take a bite out of that hand and enjoy the flesh, and salty blood. 'Just reach in here one more time. Unless you're one of the smart ones.' he thought and paid attention to what the food was saying. “. . . good owner for you.” Victor was confused by this and continued to listen, wondering who was a good owner for him. Thought of food no longer there for curiousness consumed him. “. . . his father who passed away a short while ago.” His ear twitched. Was he suppose to feel symphony for this owner? “He isn't a bad person. . . at least I think so.”

'Sweetheart who isn't a bad person? Who's father passed away? Who is a good owner for me?' Victor thought wanting to ask all these questions. 'What was I thinking about before?'

“. . . fur looks so fluffy. . .” the words didn't quite reach his ears until he felt something brush against his fur. Flashes of images from past events ran through his mind quickly.

“He looks so fluffy!” a little girl said and grabbed him harshly and yanked on him hard. He wasn't one for eating small humans. But the little girl didn't seem to like having her hand bitten, bleeding, and missing a pinky finger.

“Nice fur,” a hand grabbed his fur, a knife in the other with intent to kill. What else could he do other then to bite the arm that had him by the scruff, and snap the hand with the knife. The man was later found the next day with the record of 'Suicide'.

“Such lovely hair, makes me want to-” as soon as the woman touched his hair she was later found pinned to the wall with a knife to the offending hand above her head, and a slit throat.

“Victor, such a lovely color of fur,” a hand brushed against his ear he ripped the sleeve and backed away, having learned from his first few mistakes. Tony. He held his arm close to him, a shocked look on his face, looking at a growling wolf inside the cage. “Victor. . . I'm sorry.” For the first time Victor felt. . . guilty. Giving a soft whimper and lowering his guard.

Victor quickly stood up and back away from the hand hissing. The electric volts sending shocks to him. He looked at the woman above him. He swiped a paw at the hand, his fur on end, tail straight in the air, growling and hissing from his spot against the bars. 'Back off!' he wanted to growl out, to yell something. “S-stay away. . .” he managed weakly he pressed himself further against the cage wall, the shocks growing intensely. His voice was hoarse and sounded as if he hasn’t used it in a while. “I don't want to hurt you!” he almost yelled and started to cough. His earlier escape plan left him physically spent and with that much stress on his body he started feeling his chest tightening. He didn't like pushing his body to much, and only acted when necessary. His little coughing fit started to grow worse and he began wheezing. 'No. . . not now!' he thought and bent forward coughing trying to catch his breath as best as he could. Trying to calm himself down. 'Think of. . . think of trees!' he yelled at himself and tried to think of what trees looked like. . . 'They're. . . green. . .' his coughing started to get worse. 'What are trees!?' He gave a soft whimper and laid down feeling the cool metal. He began wheezing, sounding out of breath, and barely able to cough anymore. It was rare for him to have an asthma attack but in his current weakened state his chances rose.

  • 2 weeks later...

The young maid startled when the small figure suddenly stood up and hissed at her. “I- I’m sorry.” She said after she took back her hand then got panicked when Indigo suddenly was struggling. “Oh, no! What to do? What to do?” Taya stood up and hasty looked around, ran towards the windows and opened them in a hurry. After that the female also opened the room door for a light draft. Her eyes wandered around while she was thinking what else she could do for now. They stopped resting on the steel key which was tossed on the bed along with the letter. Being curious the brown haired went there and took the key in her hand, but immediately shook her head to get rid of the thought to open the cage to help the struggling little form. Even when Indigo had the form as a cat at the moment, she knew he could be dangerous. A look at the bent bars were already enough to be aware of it. She moved up and down in the room and nervously covered her mouth with a finger when her eyes caught the clock. “Ah, no! It can’t be that late! No, no, no…” The young woman with the copper colored hair took the cleaning utensils and rushed outside the room in a hurry. “The manor is definitely too large for one person to clean…” the maid was been heard.

What was the meaning of all this? Why wasn’t he informed before when there was a similar crime? Only because he knew the victim? ‘That’s pointless.’ he thought while let out a quiet ‘tse’.

Wataru, youngest son of the house Shimada, tall, long honey-colored hair and glasses. Always wearing clothes in blue tones and a smile on his face when needed. Though he was the only one who kept visiting Katsuhiko over and over again. The only person he thought of him as a friend. Or at least close to this.

‘Tse, not the right time to drift into old memories.’ The man with the ebony-colored hair interrupted his own thoughts and his eyes wandered around outside the car window.

The male was on his way back to the manor. Houses, street lights and people passed by the window while the car was rolling over the streets. In the daytime the streets were lively and there was an atmosphere in the air as if everything was alright. But the noble knew it wasn’t actually the case. Crimes became more often with increasing brutality. Normally only townspeople were involved, but this time a foreign ship was attacked so this incident could reach the surface and might influence the business with other countries. But that wasn’t the point which bothered him the most.

Suddenly the car stopped I the middle of a street, the street lights were green, but nothing was moving. “What is it now? Why don’t we moving?” Katsuhiko nagged and looked over to the chauffeur with an annoyed frown. “My apologies, master, there was an accident and it doesn’t seem we could continue our way too soon.”

A huff left his lips when he undo the car belt and opened the door. “This will take too much time. I’m going to go by feet to the manor.” With those words the noble left the black car and shut the car door with a bang. It wasn’t the safest way, but the fastest – and currently Katsuhiko didn’t care. He waited impatient at the pedestrian light until the light turned from red to green and he walked in a fast pace. Some people startled when they saw him passing by, but he didn’t bother at all.

‘Never go outside without a bodyguard.’ He heard his fathers’ deep voice recalling in his mind. ‘And when you have to leave the manor to go somewhere – take the car. Walking alone is dangerous. Even during the day.’

The male looked carefully around. When he accidentally crossed eyes with someone else the other looked away. They always looked away and never dared to talk to him.

While walking along the streets he suddenly stopped moving. There was a candy shop on the other side of the street… what a wonderful coincidence! The noble never thought that there was such kind of a shop. Being curious he had a look through the window inside that shop. Oh, just look at those delicious looking treats! They were calling him to buy them and the sweet smell of sugar.

‘A short visit doesn’t hurt.’ He thought and before he could say knife he was walking along the shelves were those many colorful packages of sweets were stored. Sweets were the only things the male couldn’t resist at all and they were necessary while working. He had a certain drawer of his desk filled with all kinds of different sweets and beside pens, pencils, a scissor and a ruler were lollipops resting in the pencil cup next to the screen on his desk. On his way to the chocolate section he picked up some lollipops, candy canes and pop rocks and when he finally managed to get to the checkout he also had four chocolate bars and two packages of chocolate covered nuts.

‘This wasn’t planned at all…’ The male cursed about himself to not be able to resist those wonderful little treats. Another ‘tse’ left his lips when he continued his way back to the manor which was in the outer skirts. To his relief the rest of the way was without any disturbances. Hardly after Katsuhiko entered the huge building he hastened towards his bureau. He tossed his bag into the corner and roughly put down the plastic bags from the shop on the desk before the male sat down on his armchair. While nervously biting on the end of a pen he clicked on the mouse to check the mails. Good, the earl was able to send the information that fast. The noble read the mail impatiently, but then tossed the pen away out of annoyance. The earl mentioned again that he might not want to see the pictures of the crime. After all the victim was a person he knew well. “I don’t need your pity…” the male growled then soon missed the thing in his hands he could nibble at. During reading the police reports he grabbed one of the new bought lollipops - strawberry/vanilla flavor – removed the paper and lightly sucked on it.

Then he got to the pictures and when Katsuhiko opened the first one he almost dropped the lollipop. The corpse on the picture was pinned up at the rooms’ wall. The arms were spread and the wrists stabbed with daggers. And… he was almost naked. The others pale skin was stained with deep cuts and his own dried blood. Watarus usual soft hair was messy and covered his hazy dead eyes. Next to him was the window from where it was possible to see the well-groomed garden with its several and colorful flowers. Katsuhiko knew the view from that window all too well. How often they watched it from there. How often he was in this room. Watarus sleeping room always had a pleasant atmosphere; it was bright and friendly. And now to see the blond blemished and murdered like this in this room…

A painful sting hit the noble’s chest and he breathed deep. This sight really turned his mind upside down. ‘Focus… just focus…’ he told himself, bit on the lollipop and turned back to the screen. It was a long while since he felt such a feeling. Wait… there was a symbol engraved on Watarus chest. The male zoomed in. It was a cryptic symbol where the four elements surrounded the center of the symbol where the sun was pictured. ‘How ironic to use a symbol of life on a corpse…’ Then he searched for other hints and swapped through the other photos the earl send. Just as the male thought he found another hieroglyphic message in the same ancient language again.

"Together we bleed, freedom will seek. May the ancient beast rise again."

A cold and frightening shiver ran down his spine. This message had a bitter taste and there was this piercing cold again. Like eyes were watching him. The male jumped on his feet shivering, his heartbeat increased and cold sweat were running down his forehead. “Damn…” Finally he was able to move again and left the bureau in a hurry, but that wasn’t enough. The male still felt that uneasiniess taking over his body. This fear. This paralyzing fear. He knew it all too well during the years. “Damn…” The male walked through the corridor disordered without any direction in mind. There had to be something, some place where he didn’t feel those piercing eyes. He was sick of it feeling it over and over again. “Eh?” Why was the door of the guest room open? And why the windows as well? The noble walked in fast and checked the cage, but asserted that Indigo still was inside. But why were the windows open? And why exactly now? He rushed to the windows and shut them. Then he stopped in his moves and was surprised. The pressure was suddenly gone. The cold he felt warmed up and disappeared. What was that? Then Katsuhiko turned around and his eyes wandered to Indigo and got an idea. Was it him? Did they fear Indigo? “I see…” he murmured, took the letter and the key and moved towards the cage. Once again his eyes wandered over the letter until he noticed a hidden message. His mother was carefully after all. After a short while he put the letter away. “Dogs commands, huh? I never thought you would listen to such simple things as dog commands, though.” Katsuhiko said a bit surprised and looked over to the lock. “I will let you out of this cage. Once you left it make sit, got it?” Once the message was received he finally opened the cage and waited with folded arms. Banish danger with danger… if that was a good idea?

'Just what I need to die in a cage!' Victor thought bitterly, weakly coughing and still wheezing. He tried his best to suck in air between coughs, 'Breathe in, hold. Breathe out, hold.' he thought breathing in but instead of holding his breath for a moment he gave a few coughs. He smelled the panic his Sweetheart was in and wondered if he liked that smell. 'Why is she scared for me? She should be scared of me.' he soon felt the fresh air, and could smell leaves, moist earth, water, and he began to think of his trees. He tried his breathing exercise once more sucking in the sweet air, the lovely scent and the thought of feeling the ground beneath his paws. 'Why does this feel so familiar?' he thought his sides heaving. He started thinking of himself running through the forest, free and wild, hot on the trail of a large game but he moved swiftly and quietly. His strong legs carrying him faster and faster, almost unseen by the human eye, if his black and blueish pelt didn't give him away first. 'Am I just imagining this or did it really happen?' he thought and opened his eyes once more to see the cold room. He seen shadows move, and heard tiny whispers.

"Not. In. My. Room." He quickly switched to his hellish hound form and growled the shadows and whispers away. "Stupid rats think that once I'm down they think I'm dead." He gave a howl that only spirits and other underworld creatures could hear to stay away from the room, and leave where he walks. "There is no way I'm going back. I hate it there." he softly growled and went back to his lovable calico kitten self and curled up on the makeshift pillow that his Sweetheart left for him.

He knew those demons, they cause havoc where they roam, knocking things over, giving off unpleasant feelings, and making the humans feel sad and depressed. He once pinned down one of those rats and demanded answers. They spoke in riddles and enjoyed his frustration, and edged him on to destroy them. He held it down until it spoke more clearly. He discovered that he had once come from their world, and from what those things described, the place wasn't that nice. At least not as nice as the human world was.

From his temporary freedom he had once, he seen the human place and rediscovered his love to hunt humans. He mainly prayed on females because of their easy nature, and if the human male looked good they would practically throw themselves at the male. He had the looks and the strength to over throw any human male to get the female to follow him. After a few failed tries he got a female to devour almost every night. Females soon became predictable, and he discovered that the bar is the best place for an easy meal. He doesn't like the smell of the bar, but for food he would surely endure the stench the building gave off in waves.

Victor relaxed and listened to the clock tic by, smelling the lovely scents of the outside world. His coughing fit soon melting away to the back of his mind. He got up and stretched his limbs, he couldn't even remember the last time he stretched. In the cages he refused to turn into any other animal, and he remained in a small and cramped cage for nearly 8 years. 'At least Tony took care of me the last 3 years in those cages.' he thought and gave a soft sad sigh. He walked to where the water was placed and lapped up a mouth full of water. As soon as the water ran down his throat he soon grew more thirsty and started gulping down the water. 'Tony always gave me bottled water. But this is okay too,' he thought and licked the excess water off his fur. 'Once I'm out of this awful cage I may as well make myself comfortable in this room. I'll put up protective symbols in this room to ward off anything that would dare ruin my domain.'

He gave himself a good shake and curled up once more. He's always been a light sleeper, ever since his second 'Master' gave him some training on how to protect a house, or the 'Master' and his or her pack. He didn't like it that much, but if he were to stay with them he had better learn how to 'humanely' protect those ugly smelling humans. At least from that kind of training he can do whatever he wanted to protect. He just can't bite and break the skin so that the offender bleeds. Just grab the sleeve and shake them until they are dizzy and pissing themselves. Once those humans figured out that he could turn into a human they gave him some other training that would help him protect the humans. It was a lot of hard work, especially with firearms. Once the training was over he killed his 'Master' and the 'Woman' he was with. The kids heard the gun shots and the butlers sent him back. He was restricted from using weapons of any kind.

He dozed a good while before he was awoken by a door closing from the main hall. He looked up blinking a few times and watched his open door. He felt something was off, and gave a soft growl. 'Something haunts these halls. It seems only active when he's here.' he thought and shifted to his hell hound form and sat in his cage watching the door to see if anything dared to enter. Something passed by and he growled low. It ran off quickly. 'I need to get out of here quickly and put up those charms. Those things need to know their place.' he thought and he smelled fear, panic, sadness, and urgency. Victor folded his ears back and let his jaws hang open, his snake like tongue flicked over his maw getting more of the smell and of where it's coming from. 'Fine. I'll protect him. For now.' he thought and gave another silent howl to let those rats know the boy was under his protection. He watched silently as Takagi walked in and shut his window. He turned back to the door and gave a silent growl to keep the things away from his room. He looked back to the Princess and waited to see what he would do.

'Sadly yes,' Victor thought hearing what the Princess had to say. 'Fine but put me in a dress and I'll be sure to rip out your heart and eat it. The same goes for a bow tie as well. Make me do stupid tricks and I'll make sure you have a slow and painful death.' he thought and watched as his cage was opened. He sat there and watched Princess for a moment before getting up and stepping out of the cage. Once out he could feel the floor and of how soft it was. It wasn't something he was used to, but he enjoyed it. He pushed the cage door partly closed and sat down in front of the man and looked at him. He took in the mans scent and could smell where he's been, and could smell two other men on him.

'One of them must be his driver, the other must be who he saw. He smells like he's been in a candy store. So my assumptions correct about him liking sweets. I can smell strawberry and vanilla on him and. . . was he walking? I can smell that he's been on the streets, I didn't know he knew how to walk by himself.' he thought and leaned forward a bit to smell him again and leaned back again looking at him. 'Just making sure you actually had a scent Princess. I can barely smell you under all the sweets. If I didn't know any better I would say you are walking eye candy.' he thought watching the man carefully.

He could smell that the human felt somewhat safe, and wondered if it had anything to do with him chasing those things out of his room. He folded his ears back and gave a soft growl but remained motionless. A stray shadow rat thought it could waltz in his room without his permission. He doesn't need to see the filthy creature to know they are around. 'Once I've properly protected this place I won't be seeing them around here ever.' He flicked out his tongue and waited for the next command.
