I don't know much chinese either but. If you go to 0:45 mark, it says this is what they do the rehearsal. He screams "You kissed me!"

 

Then next, it says this is what they do off-shooting afterwards (not rehearsal) but I think that's a joke... it's still rehearsal >.

 

Next is what they do usually. Messin' around. They're just screaming at Johnny to 'get down' and 'what the hell is this?'

 

Then finally, they asked them that question.

Oh, the rape isn't that bad, I think. It doesn't seem to fit the series but I think it is considered 'rape' for certain reasons. Maybe BaiLuo gives in. I'm not sure. I asked and she said it happens in chapter 127. It's supposed to be their 'first time'.

Thanks for the translation of this video segment. I watched it before but couldn't understand what they were talking about. Actually I think I watched all the videos currently available on the net referring to this serie loll but most of them are not subbed and it's so much funnier when you understand what they're saying! They're really playful and silly. Especially our main cast! And yes I'm pretty sure they mean he kissed him off shooting because yeah he's always trying to kiss him. Maybe because he knows doing it annoys weizhou so much xD. But again makes me wonder if it's just to annoy him... Well this part gonna be tough... I don't really like when it's about rape too... In BL story people tend to see it like some sign of uncontrollable passion or something but to me it's just being totally disrespectful to the other person. I mean, since when is it considered romantic to force yourself on someone disregarding his feelings?? But still I'm not so surprised if they mention rape because it seems to me that this story will be rather mature and dark in some aspect and that's also why I'm sooo anticipating it. I'm sure the story will be awesome! Well we'll see.

I'll be frank with you. I like rape. I find it fascinating, but only between two men. Several reasons... and tons of factors to consider! I think humanity is so complex. And from what we understand today (psychological, biological, etc.) is just the tip of a massive iceberg. And it was only the last few years, we began to understand and accept homosexuality more openly. (except some conservative countries, of course) I'm not saying that someday rape should be socially accepted but I'd think there would be fewer rape scenes. There would be fewer stories like this. (But homosexuality's still a taboo all over the places so they won't go away any time soon.)

 

I understand rape is horrible and a sensitive issue, especially those who has been sexually abused before. But it's so common in BL works, that it's no surprise like you said! (because in this case, women are not THE victims) I thought Counterattack was going to have rape but the storyline is very different from what I expected. I thought it was going to be very dark and angsty due to its mature-audience story but so much comedy has countered that. Addicted, at first, doesn't look like it could have rape in it, due to very, very young men being in school. (You have better hunch than me!) But considering 'what is rape' in any series, you can decide whether it is dark and angst pretty much~~

 

So why do we romanticize some rape in media? Simply because of taboo (society) and because it's so complex and faceted that a human mind cannot fully understand it (psychology).

 

First, there is EGO. Ego is a natural problem for all human. It's impossible to stop it because it depends on the PHYSICAL world. For example, when you're born, you're not yet taught how to address yourself or others. Your parents give you a NAME. Why name? For identity purposes. Then they teach you not to address yourself with NAME, but rather with pronouns. "I, Me, My, he, she, they." This develops the sense of separation. And your EGO is born, developing to became its own identity. EGO develops a defense mechanism in order to survive.

 

Now, they say that rape is used as a TOOL. For power. To ensure power or defense. It can be seen as projecting oneself onto others, exerting their desires to get what THEY want. Sometimes just to give in urges. But that's rare. They're not doing it just because they're horny.) Sometimes, they do it to re-assert themselves of being 'adequate'. It is also used as POSSESSION. In BL works, men often rape to 'possess' others. Such as "HE'S MINE!" These traits are found in animals. For instance, animals mark their territory by peeing around and some animals rape females to spread the seeds for evolutionary reasons and to promote their own gene pool. Basically, 'property'.

 

Sadly, love is not possession. If you say, "He's MY boyfriend," So therefore, he's yours? There's a problem with this logic. No, HE's not YOURS. You and your boyfriend may be together but he is still a human being, just like you and anyone else. And you can't take possession of another person, only yourself. You always say, "This is MY house. MY car. MINE! I am Sloan." I become the property of the name, Sloan, some alias that does not EXIST!!! 'Sloan' is NOT REAL! It's just a name. It's incorrect to say "This 'Sloan' is a person." No, it is not!!!! It's just a reference to YOUR EGO.

 

This is where many men misunderstand or confuse. The meaning of LOVE. Love is REAL. EGO is not. They don't understand that it's the EGO that is speaking. EGO says : "He's mine! ALL MINE. I love HIM. How dare HE treats ME like this? Why doesn't HE understand that I love HIM? I'M doing this to show HIM!" It's all separation. It's an illusion. EGO is the downfall for all of us.

 

Does it mean that when they rape, it isn't really love? It's the EGO, not you. You CAN LOVE and still rape. He simply gives into his EGO, his false identity. It is not WHO he is.

 

I think in many works, rape occurs between two men who ALREADY knew each other and already started to have a relationship. E.g. Liking each other's company. But thanks to illusion of EGO and irrational fear (EGO's defense mechanism) of being rejected/hurt by others, they act impulsively on those urges. Then later regret it. I think that's something I like. It's interesting to see how complex a human mind can be.

 

If the rapist doesn't show any compassion (Obviously Guhai cares about BaiLuo but he just didn't know what he was doing) or show any regret, then no, it's not something I romanticize! So there is a lot of complex things going on~ emotionally, mentally, and physically. They never work in harmony!

 

So I don't see rape as some sort of 'uncontrollable passion' at all. Because of the reasons I just stated above. I don't see it as 'romantic' but a crucial part of the story. This series, I hope to understand Guhai and his struggles with his own thoughts and emotions. And also how BaiLuo deals with it. And that if Guhai really cares about him, he'll try to amend to make things right again. It's part of being human. Also nothing is more important than forgiveness.

 

Gosh, I am sorry for such a long post. But really, I am asking anyone to give this series a chance, even though it might have rape in it. After all, it's just a drama. >

You know what, I think I love you ... I totally love the fact that you can convey so easily what I'm desesperately trying to express. Well, english is not my forte so it's pretty much difficult for me to explain myself. I think it's gonna be utterly catastrophic but I'm gonna try to explain more clearly what I was trying to say. You expressed exactly the reason why I think this serie's gonna be interesting. Actually I don't know how they will convey the story and deal with this subject but I'm really looking forward to it.

When I said I don't like rape I didn't mean that I'll refrain from watching it or that it will make me less interested in the story. Actually it's the complete opposite! And as I said, I already had anticipated it. But it all depends on how they'll deal with it. I'm eager to see how they will manage to convey the inner feeling of the characters and it's exactly what I'm waiting for.

 

So yeah, I really don't like when BL story tends to overuse the theme of rape because I noticed it's generally an excuse for the author for being lazy. They tend to sexualise the storyline to avoid going deeper into it. Like "I don't know how I can deal with the relationship of the two protagonists and make them develop feeling for each other so I'm just gonna make them f*** and get it over with!" You know what I mean? And THAT really makes me annoyed. So yeah, I don't mean it's always like that but often I have this feeling when reading or watching BL story. And what makes me even more annoyed is that this topic (rape) would be worthy to be deepened.

 

To pick up where I left off, about "uncontrollable passion", I think I must correct something first. Actually it was already wrong of me saying it like this because, first, uncontrollable and passion are redundant. What I was actually trying to say is that people tend to romanticize rape (in love story) because they see it like a result of a strong love, a result of passion which is commonly admitted like a positive concept associated with love. But I don't think passion necessarily implies love neither is it necessarily positive. Etymologically, and by definition, passion is an intense feeling which is irrational and that one can't control. It suggests a state of passiveness from the one who suffers from passion. It refers to a violent and excessive state of mind in which one can't control himself/herself and so enslaves the person who acts on sudden impulses. The person just can do nothing but suffer from it.

So I don't agree when people drool over a rape scene just because they think that it's right since love must be violently passionate. But on the other hand, I totally understand that the concept of rape can arouse the viewers because after all it evokes something taboo and stimulate the imagination. As I said watching or reading about a rape scene isn't what bothers me, it's more about how the author deals with it.

 

But well, coming back to our protagonists, I still don't know the background of the storyline neither their character so I'm just gonna wait and see how it will progress. I just hope the serie will avoid the usual stereotypes.

I agree with you. It is more about the delivery of the message. The consequences we want to see too. Not an excuse to get two guys together! Certainly did to WangQing to delete all these photos when he got big (fame). Like I said in chat, it really places a barrier between the fans. It really limits their creativity. Yeah I noticed that too! I saw he wrote that he loves melodic metal on his blog and I was very surprised because it's not even the typical kind of metal. I was trying to find which bands he likes because I'm a big fan of melodic metal but I don't understand shit on his blog!! >_<.>

In the video he was playing bon jovi's song which is a pretty good rock song.

I didn't know he loves coldrain, I like this band too! They performed live in France not long ago as an opening for Bullet for My Valentine but I couldn't go see them. Well he obviously has good taste in music!!

I cant believe how versatile our lil Zhouzhou is!!! It looks like he has many personalities!!! Different hairstyle and different clothes make him look totally different!! I think he is a seke! lol

Oh wow... even I had a hard time spotting him. Haha, at one point, I thought he had a long hair, looking like a woman!! Oh, it was his hood. Lol, Zhouzhou looks all tough in this video... yeah well there's someone TOUGHER than you, BUD!

 

It seems that our Zhouzhou has a upper right tattoo on his back right shoulder.... They will definitely conceal that during the series....
