Fun fact#2: The "Hai" of "Gu Hai" means sea, the "Yang" of "Gu Yang" means ocean, and the word "Hai Yang" means, well, sea and ocean. I personally think the reason that Gu Yang as an elder brother was given the second character of the word "Hai Yang" as given name is that ocean is bigger than sea. "Gu Vito" makes no sense at all lmao!!! OMG what does Google translate think? (A good English name for GH's father tho) "White Chinese flag" however is a right literal translated term, his name literally means that (more than that actually, it's complicated). "BLY" is more like white "roin", you need to put "Hai" and "Luo Yin" together to make "Heroin".

Most tv programs needs prolly 6-8mos of shooting and some 3-4mos of editing. Then prolly we need to wait yes, for a year. Just my calculations too. But since this is a webseries, I doubt they'll be taking a whole year to finish this .. hopefully by October or November this could be aired. Im also hoping that Season 2 would give us more than what Season 1 already has.

If they film it in May, there is another possibility there, they might be planning to air it during their summer holiday period, somewhere around July and August. So we need not have to wait for so long then.:Excited:

Haha, it was the first thing I noticed. In the beginning, there was something about Johnny's eyes that drew me in. But then I fell in love with Zhouzhou's wooky eyes. Hehehe. I mean, gosh are they photoshopped?? I can't believe how flawless these guys are.... I wonder if they used a feature on their phones to soften the contrast.... Since canine teeth are so popular and most desired trend in Japan, I'd think Japanese girls would find Johnny so hot and cute! But I love his front teeth.

 

The guy next to him, I don;t recognize him...? He's quite handsome but his eyebrows are wild!!! Hahaha

I'm dying to see ep 10 now, finally some big developments are going to happen :8yoyo13: but I'm also pretty certain it's gonna end in a terrible cliffhanger or at least in the middle of the fight between BLY and GH, so waiting for ep 11 or later to see them together again will kill me too :_red_fox 5 from here til the season's end i feel like I'm just gonna be on an emotional roller coaster xD.

 

 

I found some statistics about the audience of Addicted on the QQ site that I thought was interesting. I'm especially surprised at how many male viewers there are of the series, honestly never would have expected there to be more men than women.

 

 

 

 

This one is about the level of education: PhD and above, College/University, High School, Middle School, Elementary School.

 

 

 

Ages of viewers. I still have a few good years left in me before I become statistically unlikely to watch BL lol.

So we're past ep 9 and still haven't had a single kiss or real development in the relationship (They're still not more than friends). Either the last 6 episodes are going to be crazy or we've missed so much development because of cut scenes that we'll have to wait for the extended series. If the series ends before they get together I think I'd be pretty devastated and while I would definitely be desperately waiting for series 2 I think some of the trust I had in the production would be damaged. Not to say I wouldn't support/watch but I'd be wary about the plan to bring the rest of the novel to life. How many series would it take to get to the end of the book? The behind the scenes makes it seem like they filmed a lot of stuff we have yet to see, but is that because of editing or because they weren't allowed to show it? Please let's kick this series into gear (even if you can't show kisses) give me relationship development. Give me BLY realising that he likes Gu Hai! Give me conversations where they grow closer. I need development.

Well wasn't planning to post anything since i'm just a lurker, well in terms of male viewers i can't talk much about the chinese men but i'm from indonesia and i can honestly say that some of my friends (yes male) watch this series and actually like it.

 

Not just indonesia tbh, i have friends overseas and most of them do enjoy addicted. Lets break it down, Addicted talking about the story in general flows beautifully, there is progression and you see how the relationship grows. SO yes to the contrary we guys do like a good storyline and no we don't look at the cast all the time and yes we do watch this sappy kind of series once in a while and yes we sometimes watch it with out gf.

 

but most importantly this series to some extent is very realistic, just because we are guys doesn't mean we are not open to other sexual adventures. In fact i've had my fair share of this kind of relationship (where i have a gf and i'm close to this one guy and etc). This kind of stuff is very common amongst guys (again can't represent the whole male population but yeah lol) it's just not many men like to explore more or even admit to having feelings for other guys.

 

Although it is to be noted we all went to private school so yes we are a lot more open minded and comfortable with our sexuality. It is kind of sad that a lot of guys can't be comfortable with their sexuality, i mean it's not like the sex is any different :Excited:

 

So yes all in all i am a guy and i watch this series and some of my male friends do watch this series too :Jumping around:

You took it the wrong way; I don't see why you needed to get all defensive. I am only surprised it's popular amongst men because the majority of BL fans are female. It's not in any way related to whatever stereotype of men you think I have.

If you have some secret to make guys watch Addicted, I would actually like to know cuz I've been trying to persuade my best friend to watch this with me for weeks now and he's still not budging :/

In my opinion, I think the author is trying to portrays their relationship now as something like they can feel a little special in it but they are still not dare to admit or confess to it openly. They still need some time to making sure of it, especially BLY, he's a bit passive and cool.

 

GH somehow is not straightforward too, he given out so much of hints, but he did not goes straight to the point. He is treating BLY more like a brother, keep saying that "it's ok, we both are men, bla bla bla...", maybe he wanted to test on BLY's acceptability and worried if he get rejected, their tie and relationship will be no more. So he rather spends some time to do more for BLY.

 

On the other side, BLY might be feeling insecured and confused too. He received so much of hints from GH, but GH did not confess to him directly. BLY might be also worried if he's misunderstood GH's kindness is actually just friendship, brotherhood, or even having any motives on it (that's why he's trying to get some clues from GH's friends). Or he might also wondering that what if he's really fell in love with GH.

 

Moreover, this is their first time having some feelings with a guy, there should be some feelings of uncertainties that keeping deep inside their heart. So, it's not that easy to going through all these barriers. Their relationship is like in a grey zone now.

i'm happy to see that many peoples are more open-minded nowadays. good story is a good story, doesn't matter what is its gender preference. my brother is one of open-minded person too & i showed him this series. he said it's good & he started watching it too. good to see that peoples started to leave the prejudice mind toward LGBT

I don't think that BLY knows that he likes Gu Hai yet, but he's noticed how much Gu Hai cares for him. I think the change in attitude came after Gu Hai drugged him and took him to the school nurse. He's been gradually seeing all the things Gu Hai does for him but I still don't think he knows that he (BLY) likes Gu Hai as more than a brother.
