Ok, the secret to the meaning of paper sisters and paper brothers.... Baidu/Weibo always use the term sister paper (in that order chinese: 妹纸). It's chinese endearment for others who share the same passion in something. It's like finding common ground together. Originally, I thought it meant more like penpals. When you have penpals, they are from overseas or from other countries... because they called me that. So I consider everyone on here as penpals. Even though we're not technically writing to each other but same concept still... When I'm talking to my real life friends, when I say paper sisters, paper brothers, they understand I meant communities like this. (Instead of saying "oh other fans like me...", or "people from the forum where I post"... beh) Nothing is wrong with treating each other like family, right? xD xD xD Just think of this forum as letters. xD NOW everyone knows why I call everyone paper sisters/paper brothers!!! I think I should be locked away in an asylum... anyway my paper sister finally answered. She was quite shocked but unaware of this channel. How is it "official" though?? If ijustcant is correct, they're the investors and they can do whatever they want with the materials... but does that mean Chai Jidan agreed to it or not? I would think it's beyond her control. My paper sisters and paper brothers~ do you think this is wise decision or reckless action? like mchan said, in her opinion, it's a good tactic. She thinks the rules apply only for china online streaming / cinema. As long as the official doesn't upload the prohibited "scenes', it'll be okay. And the government can't ban it based on the uncut international version, since they know the DVD will be contained it & will be leaked out soon or later. Obviously there are divided opinions on this matter. Some fans were angry enough to demand a release of uncut version. Some of my paper sisters do not have problem with this since they plan to buy DVDs anyway. I think it's quite ridiculous and immature considering they knew of the regulations that were already in place. I guess it is in both good and bad light. For example it can be seen as some sort of rebellion. More and more are going beyond boundaries and limits but I don't think this rebellious attitude will have any effect on future regulations though~ Remember there are still rumors about shutting down all web series and BL themed drama floating around, so I wouldn't dismiss this so lightly. This probably won't impact them in any way since it's now out of the government's control, with internet bypasses, but I asked myself, 'well does it give them or us the benefits?' If you think it benefits us more, think again. It clearly benefits them more than us. They're not doing it for US. But for them. (so they can shut up about it and keep 'viewers' or maybe a big 'F.U.' to the government) Yeah, I have mixed feelings about it. I think some fans were overreacting about the cut-scenes, despite how outrageous a ban on simple display of affection between two people, regardless of sexual orientation is but with given circumstances, under the government respectively, remained as the way things are right now. And I hope investors have more power in the say. It could be a good thing. I don't know. But I'm one of the few who is against this idea. Because despite internet accessibility for everyone, the government won't care enough to change its regulations. As long as they contain their control within the country. So this move of releasing (not even full uncut version) on international sites will not further the acceptance of the LGBQT community. Because it won't have any impact. Because they would have to 'move' to international sites, away from their home country to increase exposure, but markets? You see, there's no point in 'sneaking' around the rules, the rules remain. And this 'sneaking' or might trigger an undesired action, rather than protesting its current system. 2. Yes I think it will affect DVD sales. In my opinion. Esp. International fans now won't buy the DVDs due to its easy accessibility and availability. I pledge to buy the DVD!!! I don't care if it came from 'official' channel or not. It's disappointing I think, considering they don't care about international fans but theirs so they can quench their thirst for some cut-scenes they could not even wait for. It was not worth the risk. Even if it was a big 'F.U.' to the government, and that they (chinese download and share everywhere inside) then it is even worse, because it gets personal. It's a direct attack on Chai Jidan. And piracy is already a huge problem in China. OK, so there I expressed my feelings all out here. I'm so terribly sorry to bring this up again! I just wanted to share my feelings and my takes on it. I don't think it will give them a hard time for season 2. I think what mchan said is probably right. Maybe I am all just paranoid!!! Just a tad disappointed because how quickly we are so addicted to it that a little move like this can cause massive damage or backfire just only to get a little 'high' on it and that addiction wears off. It's hella drug! But then again, how are we going to deal with the withdrawal once it is all over? We won't have anything else to look forward to. Please Register/ Sign In, in order to see the links. , actually i've been thinking about this matter since our conversation yesterday. i can totally understand your concern about this uploading matter. i know yesterday i said it's quite a good move, but now that i re-think about it again, i am actually quite worry about addicted's future. my biggest concern is that the government want to completely BAN the gay theme in china, but they chose to do it gradually, starting with cut-ban law. who knows what kind of rule they'll establish in the future? what if they make thing difficult to addicted & other movies later? one consolation in my mind is, as you said, maybe it's investor's decision to upload it. but i'm sure the investor is not stupid. they know very well how successful this series is & it'll be very silly for them to put the gold mine in high risk. and i believe they know the regulation better than us, so that they dared to put that bold act. as for dvd sales.. umm, since they only gave us "pecked kiss" in this uncut version & it's not even intense ones, plus i'm sure there will more intense scenes later which we don't know yet whether it'll be aired or not, i don't think we should be worry about the sales. like i said, they are not stupid (hopefully ^^) & they should know well how to boost the sales. not to mention, there are many cut scenes in the whole series which not related with sexual interpretation. so if we want to enjoy the whole stories (including the intimate scenes), we have to buy the dvd. - - - Updated - - - LMFAO Stomping MAD wife![/size] *stomps! stomps!* "Sorry there was a cockroach."
