...feels like kissing scenes in Asian dramas in general are super awkward and/or weird?

 

Like, lips awkwardly clashing together or barely touching whilst the person involved has their eyes wide open forever and a day - and it's very evident that no tongue or any 'heat' are taking place. Like the actors themselves have never actually kissed anyone before and are just like "OKAY NOW I'LL JUST TRY THIS OUT! WATCH OUT!" The kissing in Asian movies and episodes always gives me a sense of "no please just don't, it will look fake and ruin my feels". Or am I maybe just being too harsh?? x)

 

Please point out really good, hot asian kissing scenes and prove me wrong! (Truth be told I've never watched a BL drama - please nobody kill me now - but that's mainly because of my huge fear of the awkward kissing scenes. *twitch*

Actually, I used to think Asians kiss 'weirdly'.

But then I saw one hot Japanese singer actually kissing and I was mesmerized by the movements. -laughs-

I agree with you. I have noticed the awkwardness when they kiss. Actually, even without awkwardness, the 'stiff kiss' makes the scene look...so f.cked up.

 

Take for example AV's, too.

I know porn is completely else, but...since it's porn...isn't it supposed to be even more in details?!

The kisses there are even more awkward. The good, old known 'French kiss' is completely...completely...f.cked up.

The tongues...they are moving wrong, I am telling you. D;

 

Until now I haven't seen a satisfying kiss in any Asian drama. ;I

LOL! I believe it's because the culture itself play a big part in that awkwardness. Hell, growing up just thinking of "holding hands" was a big big thing as it is so I can imagine that the actors/actresses sorta had to that internal battle for scenes that call for intimacy, and yes it's awkward to watch as well.

These two are my current favorite bl drama/series and both are chinese. Since I, too, don't usually watch bl drama or live-action (especially l-a).

And that's the reason why I don't watch BL Dramas actually i've never watched one just saw some scenes on Youtube cause I wanted to watch Takumi Kun Series and it kinda was disappointing. :/ What ForbiddenOath said makes sense. It's the same with Bollywood movies. The "kissing" and "love" scenes are like done as satire.

 

But it's different when you listen to Drama CD's. The voice actors are so so so damn good at this XD Guess it's better to stay at this.

They are indeed awkward. I'm always disappointed by the kissing scenes, the actors seem like they don't really want to do it, but they have to and it sucks so much.

 

I think that in Takumi-kun series they did improve by the last film, but just a little.

 

Antique, tho, that one has some pretty nice kiss scenes, and maybe that's why it stays strong on top of my fav BL dramas ever. That and because everything else is on point.

O-M-G Thank You I'm not alooonnee. I also think its so dam weird. I mean seriously if you are in love you should just really dig into that kiss, right?!. but they stand still like a stick. whhhyyyy?

 

I get the point if the eyes are open, if you wanna give a secen of "suurrprriisee" But after that moment is over you should close your eyes and .. dig into that kiss. It would be nice to see a real dam good kiss and not those... non kiss scenes.

 

I guess it has to do with some kind of contract the actors have...(I would not be surprise)

but still.... I wanna see some real nice luuv kissing
