What is he doing? He took the butterfly away from him and now he was taking the worms out of his hand directly. Cyll frowns and sat on his backside, crossing his arms as he stared at the hooman freaking out over them falling on him. That's what he gets. He came closer seeing the one on his finger and grabbed his hand, looking right at him, as if he was committing a rebellion, and put Nagi's finger in his mouth to eat the worm. Cyll didn't know why on earth this creature kept telling him no when he was only grabbing up snacks.

"Worms are sweet." He said, licking his lips and returning to crossing his arms, "Stop 'no'ing Cyll... Nagi is no no no." Did he not know what they tasted like? They were sweet just like the candy he was given, but not as sugary... If Nagi knew, he wouldn't be such a Sinjk butt. Excuse the language. "Nagi try. Worms taste good. Juices feel good on my-" he opened his mouth and pointed at his tongue. The juices felt good on his tongue is what he meant.

Why exactly was this outsider telling him what he can or can't do? This was his planet, not his... It wasn't in Nagi's jurisdiction to be so... 'No this!' And ''No no no Cyll!" Cyll played around with his group's young ones all the time and he liked to tease them in a few ways and if Nagi didn't stop, he was going to be apart of something he didn't want. It wouldn't harm him or anything, but it'll just be hilarious to see him get taught a lesson... Cyll got a bit evil whenever he was grumpy.

Cyll frowned. Nagi freaked out. The worm didn't feel slimy, or sticky, but it felt very... ok, maybe Nagi just didn't like squirmy things. Snakes, worms, the weird tentacles that octopuses had... "Ah?" Cyll suddenly grabbed his hand and lifted it to his mouth. His fiery eyes met Nagi's with a rather defiant gaze. Slowly, he removed the glowing worm thing from Nagi's finger with his tongue. Letting go of his hand, Cyll crossed his arms again. "Cyll! You shouldn't eat other people's fingers! It's unsanitary! No. Do you understand? No!" Nagi felt like he was teaching a toddler not to eat everything it saw. Cyll said something about the worms being sweet, but Nagi thought that maybe his taste buds were just... broken or something.

"Stop 'no'ing Cyll... Nagi is no no no." Cyll whined, looking a tiny bit irritated, his eyebrows scrunched together. "Nagi try. Worms taste good. Juices feel good on my-" Cyll pointed at his tongue. On his tongue... which means his... taste buds? Yeah... I'm pretty sure they're broken...

"No, no, no, no, nononono worms. Bad. Worms. Bad. No eat bad worms." Nagi shook his head. "Nagi don't try." A slight updraft blew into the cave. The worms wiggled around. "Ah—!" Nagi jumped as clumps of worms fell everywhere. He felt something fall on his head. Nononononono...no! Trying to shake them off, Nagi felt himself tripping over... nothing, and fall towards the floor, which was made of, hard...hard... stone. Ahhh, why am I falling again? Nagi closed his eyes.

Knowing From previous observation, Cyll uncrossed his arms watching the creature freak out over more worms. Worms. They were at the bottom of the food chain and couldn't put up any defense against things wanting to eat them, yet Nagi acted like they would rip off and eat his flesh on contact. He sighed and grabbed Nagi just as he fell, "You're very weak..." He sounded almost disappointed, but when he pulled up the hooman, Cyll pulled him close to his chest and mumbled, "Cyll show Nagi they taste good. No need for fear."

Cyll took Nagi's chin and opened his mouth, then 'kissed' him, as in, he put his mouth on his and licked his tongue inside. All he was doing was showing him that his mouth was sweet because the worms were sweet. That they were good! To make sure he tasted it, he deeper his 'kiss' and was practically making out with him, getting all that nice worm flavors in Nagi's mouth.

It wasn't ethical for his kind, the primate looking creatures, to do some, this like this, but Nagi was being too difficult to be polite in this situation. If he kept turning down perfectly good food, he couldn't help Nagi no matter how much he wanted to.

"You're very weak..." Cyll paused. Pulling Nagi closer, he spoke again. "Cyll show Nagi they taste good. No need for fear." Oh really?

Nagi looked at Cyll. "Eh... how—" Cyll's face came closer and closer and suddenly Nagi felt the soft sensation of... something licking his tongue. It was... sweet?! Are the worms legit sweet?! What is going on?! It took Nagi's brain a moment to register that Cyll was... very close to him. They were touching, actually. "Mmph?!" Nagi was surprised to feel Cyll even more intimately... kissing him. Ah. That was what was happening. He's... pretty good at this? Well, not that I'd know.

Nagi lifted his hand and stroked through Cyll's soft fluffy hair. It somehow felt natural. Then, as if feeling intoxicated by the exotic sweetness he had obtained a taste of, Nagi shyly tried to kiss back. I really don't how to do this... how is it that he... seems so experienced?! Focusing all of his efforts on figuring out how in the world to kiss, Nagi forgot about the icky worms that were all over the place. I think I'm doing a pretty good jo— the cave trembled. The worms fell. "Nnoooo!" Nagi pulled away from Cyll and grabbed his hand.

"Let's go somewhere else, Cyll!" Practically dragging him, Nagi hurried away from those stupid worms, that indeed seemed to be tasty, but he was still not brave enough to try. Deeper into the cave, the population of the worms was less dense. More sparsely spread out, they still provided enough glow to see. "Cyll, do you know what's in this cave? Why did the 'gods' bring us here?"

Cyll was starting to think that Nagi was beginning to enjoy the taste of the worms since he was moving in his mouth too. See, it wasn't bad! He wanted to tell Nagi that, but he was also starting to taste a different sweetness in Nagi's mouth that wasn't from the worms. Did hoomans taste sweet naturally? It didn't make him want to eat he creature at all, he'd never do that, but it did make him want to taste more of his natural sweetness. And he was getting that until the cave rumbled and more of the tasty bug fell from the ceiling of the cave. Nagi pulled them apart and pulled him off deeper into the cave.

Away from the humid temperature of the outside, Cyll could feel that he was getting goosebumps from the chillier inside of the cave. Unlike Nagi, he wasn't born with extra layers of skin, aka clothes, on top of his dark, fleshy skin. It wasn't so bad though, so he didn't let himself complain about it. Anyways, Nagi asked him a great question! He completely forgot to nag the hooman on his coward behavior and smiled, happy to explain. His family didn't like to hear his ramblings, nor could they understand when he spoke in a strange language, which was the one he spoke in now.

"Water and food in safe cave," he went over to a small puddle that was on the ground, scooping some in his hand and letting it pour off, "You no like food though. Waste... Gods did not expect Nagi to be so wasteful of their... generosity... They brought us here. Alone from Ahki and other predators." The water was oddly sort of warm, so he cupped more in his hand and sat back, slashing his face and wetting his Snow White hair. Cyll also licked his lips to taste the last bit of Nagi's saliva on his mouth.

Cyll seemed to shiver a little bit. Ah, is he cold? Well, of course he would be, without clothes on... Nagi took his lab coat off and draped it around Cyll. Wait, does he know how to put on clothes? Taking Cyll's wrist he gently guided it into one sleeve, hoping he would get the gist of it and be able to dress himself. It really was like taking care of a child.

Cyll walked over to a small puddle. Eyeing it cautiously, Nagi wondered if there were also scary things in there as well.

"Water and food in safe cave." Cyll scooped up some water and let it drip onto the floor. I guess not, then.

"Is the water safe to drink? There might be malignant bacteria in there. You should boil and purify it first." Does fire even exist on this planet?! Nagi was a bit concerned. He was taught to never drink dirty, or possibly contaminated water when he took a basic survive-in-the-wild course. "You no like food though. Waste... Gods did not expect Nagi to be so wasteful of their... generosity... They brought us here. Alone from Ahki and other predators."

Gods, gods, gods... what are these gods... and what the hell is an Ahki?! He scrunched his nose. "Worms aren't food... well, at least not where I come from." he paused, and quickly added an afterthought. "And where you possibly also came from." Cyll scooped up more water, and splashed it on his face, looking very... content. A little amused, Nagi patted his head, like one would stroke a puppy.

"What is an Ahki, Cyll? And what other predators are there?" If there were these so called water monsters and predators on Lustris, Nagi wondered how on Earth—well, Lustris, Cyll managed to survive. Perhaps he was taken care of by wolves as baby, like in those ancient myths. Are there more humans on here?

"Ah, it's sort of warm in here..." Nagi took off the sweater he had on, revealing a T-shirt with an adorable kitten on it. Stretching, the male sat down beside Cyll and gingerly stuck a finger into the puddle. It felt wet. Like water. But it still glowed... Scooping up a handful, Nagi watched as it slowly dripped down his arm, and onto the floor.

It's definitely more dense than water. Reaching for a sample collector, he remembered they were in his lab coat pocket. "Sorry Cyll, hold on... I'm just grabbing something..." He dug around in one of the numerous pockets, and produced a vial. Taking a dropper, he put five droplets of the Lustrian water into the container and quickly sealed it, making sure it was air tight, and that nothing would be able to get in, or out. He dug into another pocket, and took out a small box, sliding the vial into a clamp that held it still, preventing it from colliding with other small vials and breaking.

He tucked everything neatly away, but his finger touched something. Something metal. He pulled it out of the pocket, and remembered they were all given an emergency Swiss Army Knife. Nagi had changed his a bit, and had added bits and pieces of useful things he thought he might need. Oh! Some matches... and flint?! Why did he bring both matches and flint?! Shaking his head at his slight stupidity, Nagi thought it would be fun to show Cyll fire. Or would it scare him?

Eh, there's water here... it'll be fine. He took a match and gently struck it against the stone of the cave. It lit up, dancing slightly, swaying in the direction the air was moving in the cave. Wait, what?! For some reason, the flame was not a bright golden color, with bits of orange and white. It was a violet color, tinged with blue and in the very center, silver.

Was it just him? Or was the wood of the match burning down faster than it should have? Quickly extinguishing the match, Nagi scurried to take a sample of the ash the fire left.

Cyll wasn't even paying attention to anything Nagi was doing with the water and his sample taking. He kept stroking the lab coat, never feeling something like it before... In his touching session, he watched the hooman take off another layer off his shell. Looking at his limbs, they looked a lot like his. Fleshy and soft. Nagi wasn't the same color as him, but there was no doubt in his head that both of them came from the heavens. Cyll was born from it and put here, Nagi came from somewhere and was fated to meet him.

His amber eyes looked at the fellow creature when he looked about done with whatever he was doing and was about to answer his question about the Ahki, but he was interrupted by the sight of seeing him pull out small tiny sticks with red stuff on the tip. What it was, he didn't know. It almost reminded him of a lollipop. Cyll would have stolen one from Nagi if he wasn't completely shocked by what happened next. The stick suddenly got bright and it started to glow on its own, except it was moving around too.

Cyll's eyes got huge as he put clenched the lab coat around him and scuttled back a few feet. "N-Nagi," the light died and the stick was all burnt out, but he still pointed it at and refused to come any closer, "Nagi is from fire?" He's seen fire before. When storms come, lightning strikes. Sometimes it made fires... But fires weren't something that not even he could do, being the descendant of thunder itself... Were they related?! If he was from thunder and Nagi was from fire... That explained why the hooman wasn't more capable than him. Thunder was more powerful, and so was Cyll. It made so much more sense now!! "Cyll was right. Nagi from the sky. From fire..."

He came back close again, putting his arms around Nagi and disregarding anything he was about to do. When he squeezed the man, it was so strong he might get legit hurt. "Cyll not realize Nagi was from the fire... I am not surprised any longer that Cyll and Nagi have met. Our father wanted us to be together..." Cyll had already given himself the responsibility of taking care of the hooman and to make sure he was safe. That idea only was strengthened in his mind.

  • 2 weeks later...

Nagi watched a bit gleefully, amused, as Cyll's eyes grew wide as he saw the match go up in flame. He scurried away quickly, as if intimidated."N-Nagi," he whimpered. "Yes, Cyll?" "

"Nagi is from fire?" Cyll gingerly pointed at the burnt out match. Oh, so he does know what fire is. "Uh, no, I didn't come from... fire." Nagi paused, wondering what Cyll was thinking, again. "More... gods?"

"Cyll was right. Nagi from the sky. From fire..." Cyll cried out, excitement lacing his words. "..." Nagi sighed. How was he supposed explain how humans... were created?! Nagi paused, finished up his sample taking, and scratched down a couple of notes.

"You see... Cyll, humans don't come from the sky, or fir—" Hmm?! Nagi felt something wrap around him. Ah. Cyll squeezed him tightly. "C-Cyll... what are you doing?" Ignoring him, Cyll whispered a bit gleefully, "Cyll not realize Nagi was from the fire... I am not surprised any longer that Cyll and Nagi have met. Our father wanted us to be together..."

Hah?! Cyll really was delusional. And why did he sense a protective vibe from him?! "A-ah... Cyll, it's a little bit... hard to... breathe..." Nagi patted the white haired male's hand and gently urged him to stop constricting his air supply. Pushing him back, Nagi ruffled his hair, feeling for some reason... fond. Of Cyll, that is. Pulling on one side of his lab coat, Nagi straightened it, stopping once to run his hands through Cyll's hair again. It's very soft...

Yawning, Nagi stretched. He had no sense of time on the ever so dark Lustris. Perhaps it was getting late? "Mmm..." Nagi looked over at Cyll. "Cyll, I'm getting a bit tired. Is it all right if we rest in here?" Looking at the stone floor, it was surprisingly clean... and strangely polished looking. Glowing of course, as well. He wasn't sure how comfortable it would be to sleep on a hard surface, but it couldn't be too bad, right?

Cyll's orange eyes closed, having Nagi run his fingers in his hair felt very nice and relaxing. He wished he did it more, opening his eyes and seeing the hooman stretch, "Rest... here?" Cyll never slept in a cave for no good reason before, "If Nagi wants that, Cyll say okay..." He was used to sleeping out in the trees and such. He'd either lay on the soft body of his mother or his watch duty friend, or in one of the large tree leaves higher above in the canopies. They were enough to hold him in it, unfortunately not anyone else in his family, they were all too heavy.

Speaking of them, he bet they were worried for him. Cyll took it upon himself to inspect the strange thing that came down from the sky and he hasn't come back to them yet. Bringing Nagi to them, he bet they'd be very surprised... They'd let him hang around them if he told them he was not bad... The only problem would be that Nagi sucked at climbing. That meant he couldn't maneuver well at all. The only hope for him would be that once they got higher up, he wouldn't fall off the thick branches. Cyll couldn't risk leaving his side at all, or else he'd fall.

"Nagi meet others later. Cyll's..." he paused, thinking very hard of what words to use. While he tried to find a word, he leaned on Nagi, biting his lip. After some thought, a word came into his head and out of his mouth. He didn't recognize it, but it felt right to say it, "famly.... My... family. My family worry for Cyll, because Cyll has not been back for long time."

"Rest... here?" Cyll looked a bit surprised.

"Yes. Sleep in cave."

"If Nagi wants that, Cyll say okay..."

"Good."

Nagi rolled up the sweatshirt he had dropped on the floor a little while ago, and fluffed it up into a makeshift pillow. It was somehow getting increasingly warm... he thought it was probably safe enough to sleep without a covering of some sort. Nagi lay down, and started to close his eyes.

"Nagi meet others later. Cyll's..."

"Hm?" Nagi listened to what Cyll had to say.

"famly.... My... family. My family worry for Cyll, because Cyll has not been back for long time."

Famly? "Ah! Family?!" Nagi quickly jolted up, looking at Cyll. Was it possible that there were other humans on Lustris other than Cyll? Perhaps a tribe of them? A whole entire new race! Perhaps he would make an amazing discovery!

Or maybe he was raised by wolves...

"Cyll... is your family also... human?" Nagi stared at Cyll, awaiting his answer.

Nagi slept that day, mind filled with Cyll, humans, and amazing discoveries in the name of science.

------------------------------------------------------------

"Ow...owowOWOW... ow!" Nagi woke to a sharp, cramping pain in his lower back. He rubbed his eyes, and awoke... to see a glow worm DANGLING ABOVE HIS HEAD.

"Aaaaughhhh!!!" He scuttled about five feet back and tried to calm himself down.

Okay. You're on Lustris. In a cave... filled with those... THINGS!

Why was he so easily startled?! Especially on a morning... He watched as the little worm dropped to the cave floor and started wriggling around. It inched toward his sweatshirt and Nagi prayed to whatever god Cyll said he was from to save his sweatshirt.

Oh, God... please don't let it touch my sweatshirt!

But whatever god there was, was obviously not answering prayers that day, because the worm, with much effort, wriggled its way onto Nagi's sweatshirt, and planted itself right in the middle.

There. That's proof right here that Cyll's "gods" don't exist!!! My sweatshirt...!!!

Nagi asked if there were hoomans too and he looked quite excited too. His family were not, in fact, hoomans at all so he stared back at Nagi, not saying anything. Cyll pretended like he didn't understand by ignoring him and putting his head on his lap to sleep just to avoid telling him no for now. When the both of them slept not too long laterthe white haired one held himself tightly in the lab coat like a cocoon, his body pressed close to Nagi. It was just natural for him to want to be next to the other, he was warm and mostly, they were practically one... The way Nagi responded to his words about their gods, it didn't seem like he might not enjoy being one. Why?

When he slept, he was happy to have a very special dream... The tall god walked close to him, his large hand going to his head, ruffling his hair just like Nagi had done. For some reason, his Father wasn't smiling happily and lovingly like he usually was in his dream. It was a sad smile... It made Cyll feel sad too... He didn't smile either, looking up at his God before saying "Don't be sad... I'll be back before you know it." Those words weren't his though. It was as if he was watching this through him, but he wasn't in control.

"I know," the god chuckled and crouched in front of him to be at eye level, his hand still in his hair, "Just know that when you wake up, it'll all be okay. You know what to do, right?"

"Yes... Call the station back as soon as wake up."

"Good boy," the taller smile widened, but he sounded like he'd cry, "I pray all goes well, son..."

Cyll came was quiet, but in the next moment, he jumped closer and hugged his Father, "I'll miss you."

"I'll miss you too. I await for the call when the time comes... Be good,-" he was cut off by the real world.

"Aaaauughhhh!!!"

Cyll was scared by the loud cry and sat up, the lab coat falling off one of his shoulders in his shock. His eyes were beamed awake and in confusion, thinking there was something bad happening. Looking around, there wasn't anything except a worm cornering Nagi... Looking down at the white coat, he sighed because that was no reason to wake him up. His eyes were still on the coat, for a little bit too because... This was... T-This was what his Father wore every time in his dreams!! He just realized it now!

He grabbed it and took more closer details of it, his jaw dropping, "Nagi... Nagi!!" He bounced and crawled to him, picking up the worm and tossing it to the side, pointing to the lab coat, "This is-!"

"Ooooo... Oo." Low cooing sounds were coming from outside, they got louder as it was clear they were coming closer towards the small cave. Cyll stopped what he was saying because the noise was familiar. He smiled and grabbed Nagi's shoulders, "Cyll's family! My family!" He knew they might have sent some one of them to search for him. They must have been so worried. Cyll momentarily forgot what he was going to saw, turning his head to face the direction of the mouth of the cave, he shouted a few coos of his own so they'd know he was here...

He bet they came closer to here because of Nagi's scream. Nagi's scardy baby side was useful for once! Mere seconds after he called out there was a big dark figure at the cave mouth, big eyes like yellow moons. It was large but also slender in some areas of its body. Small ears despite its large face, a spring-like tail and long appendages... It was a monkey. Sort of. The huge glowing eyes and the size of the creature was not very normal though.

Worm. Worm! WormwormwormwormwormwormWORM!

Nagi was in the middle of his morning meltdown, when he heard a rustling sound. He stopped freaking out, as he watched Cyll slowly blink open his amber eyes. He looked cute, in a sleepy way.

"Oh, C-Cyll... did I wake you up?" Nagi half smiled at Cyll, keeping his eyes on the worm.

Cyll was like a radiator. He literally radiated heat, even when he was sleeping. The white haired male had curled up nice and close to Nagi, keeping him quite warm, even without blankets. He was very cuddly. Very, very cuddle-able... unlike the worm!

Nagi shuddered, still looking and thinking about the worm.

"Nagi... Nagi!!" Cyll's urgent voice cried out, startling Nagi, causing him to bang his head on the cave wall behind him.

"Uuwahhh..." Nagi watched as he batted away the worm without care from off of his sweatshirt.

"This is-!" Cyll pointed at his lab coat with fervor. Hmm? Does he not like my lab coat?

"Ooooo... Oo." Nagi paused. He thought he heard something. "Ooo...Ooooooo..." He turned around, to see what was making the noise.

"Ahhh!" Nagi was startled, again, as Cyll grabbed his shoulders excitedly. Why am I so jumpy today?

"Cyll's family! My family!" Cyll sounded so excited. Wai-what? Family?

Nagi looked at the entrance into the cavern. "OOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" Cyll called to something, somewhere.

Nagi saw the eyes first. Big, glowing, yellow circles. Scary, big, glowing circles. His first instinct was to grab Cyll's arm and pull him back, behind him. What is he doing, calling to them?!

His grip tightened, as the creatures advanced. Closer. Closer... "Cyll's family! My family

"Hm?" Nagi wondered what he had said. Cyll's fa... family?! Nagi stared at the lumbering creatures. What were they?! Some sort of primate? The creatures' limbs were long and lanky. Its ears were small and flat, somehow making the face of the animal look very threatening. Its creepy eyes swept over Nagi, and then Cyll. The big yellow orbs focused on Nagi. It came closer. Closer.

Then, with a swoosh, it leaped through the air, and landed right in front of the two hoomans. It still stared at Nagi. Slowly, and what looked deliberately, it slapped Nagi's hand off of Cyll's arm, and menacingly stared. Again. Pushing Cyll behind it, the monkey-thing's tail slowly reached toward Nagi's neck.

Nagi stared back, aware of the long, brown, wire-like tail coming his way. He knew how to deal with this. Reaching into his pocket, eye contact still intact with the primate's he pulled out a little blue thing wrapped in plastic. He unwrapped it quickly, and threw it at the monkey.

"Eat it! It's good," Nagi calmly said to the animal. If Cyll liked blue-raspberry candy, then surely, his family would like, and hopefully be tamed by it, as well!

Cyll expected one his friend to be the one to pull him away from Nagi, but he didn't look like he was just about to let Nagi off the hook for touching him. He looked over from behind the creature and blinked, frowning when he saw how its tail was about to choke his friend Nagi, "Ooo-Oo!" He hit the beast's side to try and get it to stop, which even the beat of his fist didn't look like it would hurt the alien monkey that much at all. It had thick skin under it's fur patches, and since it was busy staring down Nagi, it ignored Cyll, keeping an arm in front of him to block him.

When Nagi tossed over the lolipop, the creature took a small step back and glanced down at the pop before focusing on the strange creature once more. Cyll smiled, looking over the large arm. Nagi was smart doing that, because the tail drew back slightly as his friend picked up the candy, smelling the sweetness of the hard ball. Cyll patted his friend this time, making more coo noises and clicks too. The large creature responded to him and turned towards him with a low bellow that could be mistaken as a threatening sound. But Cyll, in response, smiled and took the candy from his hand, looking at Nagi, "He likes sweet things," he looked at the candy and gave it a lick, then brought it to the creatures mouth, pointing at his own tongue to try and say it was for licking, not biting, "Lick. Good!"

But it didn't understand. It opened it's mouth, it's dark purple tongue and gums, covered in a lightly illuminated saliva, were seen as it chomped down on the whole blue circle, it only lasting one crunch before it was swallowed. Cyll frowned and sighed, "Never listen to Cyll..." He also wanted some more candy and if it had taken a simple lick, he would have licked it again too... But Nagi was lucky that didn't happen, he'd find it extremely gross.

It licked its lips and sniffed Cyll's hand to see if there was anything else left besides the stick. To distract him, the white haired boy tossed the stick to the side and went over to Nagi, wrapping his arms around him as it went to investigate the stick. It was just a stick. It looked back at the two, coming closer while baring it's sharp teeth.

"Nagi," he said, pointing to the hooman, "Nagi... Nagi good! Nagi and Cyll..." he patted Nagi's chest and then his own, and pointed upward, "Both from Father. No bad. Nagi good!" Cyll smiled excitedly, because judging by the flick of it's ear, he knew he was understanding...

Though this speak of Father or anything related to any gods was recognized by these the creatures he lived with since he spoke about it so much, all of his family ignored that talk completely because they didn't believe any bit of it. They saw Cyll just like them. Cyll was apart of their family now and it didn't matter where he came from.

Even the large creature sighed at Cyll's words. The dark skinned male's orange eyes looked so bright, he looked very excited, hoping for Nagi to be accepted enough to go home with them... Not even his friend could refuse him, clicking and making more ooos. The creatures behind made plenty of noise too, the bugs on the ceiling wriggling even more in distress of the noise, falling from the ceiling in small patches.

"Nagi," he looked at the man, taking his hand, "Says you can come... But Nagi has to stay close to Cyll. Nagi will be okay if with Cyll. With me.... Okay?"

  • 2 weeks later...

Nagi watched as the animal cautiously examined the blue ball of sugar and artificial, most-likely-will-cause-diabetes-if-too-much-is-consumed flavoring. He smiled gleefully as the animal picked it up with its tail and curiously sniffed it. "He likes sweet things," Cyll said to Nagi. Ah, so it's a "he"? Well, I guess I'm saved... by myself~ Nagi observed Cyll coaxing the monkey-thing to lick the lollipop. "Lick. Good!" Hmm... Nagi wasn't sure if it was safe for the creature to consume the lollipop. Many studies both in the past and present had shown that processed foods, and just foods in general made for human consumption were particularly detrimental towards animals.

Nagi began to stop Cyll from feeding the animal the sugary treat, but watched, fascinated as it opened its cavernous mouth, and bit off the whole entire candy ball. "Never listen to Cyll..." The white haired boy looked down at the white stick left in his hand. Tossing it to the side, he strode quickly to Nagi. As if protecting him, he hugged Nagi closely to him. Awkward... Cyll was too short to assume a protective stance...

"Nagi," Cyll paused, as if to see if "he" was listening. "Nagi... Nagi good! Nagi and Cyll..." he trailed off. Patting Nagi, he continued persuading the primate not to harm his... ...friend? Perhaps? "Both from Father. No bad. Nagi good!" Does this monkey understand what Cyll is saying? The hulking animal's eyes were big and a bit unsettling, but he couldn't sense any intelligence, or recognition at Cyll's words.

Then the monkey began clicking. And cooing. And making weird noises that freaked Nagi out a bit. But Cyll started doing the same thing, and Nagi just ended up very befuddled. *Plop* *Plop* It was something soft and squishy. Landing on his head. It squirme—IT WAS THOSE GODDAMN WORMS!!! This time, Nagi was the one who clung to Cyll. "L-let's leave these caves... okay, Cyll?"

"Nagi," Cyll gestured toward the monkey. "Says you can come... But Nagi has to stay close to Cyll. Nagi will be okay if with Cyll. With me.... Okay?" "Okay! Okay! Now let's get out of here, away from the worms!" Grabbing his sweatshirt and lab coat, Nagi rushed out of the cave, full speed. Why am I so jittery today? He didn't remember being so... disgusted by the worms the day before...

Oh, motherfudging god of the monkeys... why...?!!!! Forgetting about the mushrooms, Nagi felt himself running on empty air for a bit. It was incredible, really. But then he fell. "Aughhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!" He fell for a full five minutes. Ah, the atmosphere and air must be denser here... more friction... yes, yes, I might not die! Nagi opened his tightly shut eyes to see a whir of greenery. Glowing, shimmering greenery. And then he landed on something springy. Another mushroom, perhaps? Nope... it was... a trampoline?! Hah? What. He felt himself being catapulted back into the air a few times before gathering the courage to guide himself out of the path of the bouncy contraption. "Ooof." He felt his legs buckle, and crumpled to the floor.

There Nagi was being terrified of glowing worms, he ran out to the exit, but at the speed he was going at, Cyll realized that he was going too fast and not being careful. "N-Nagi!!" He ran after Nagi, but it was too late, "Naaagiii!!!" Crying out as he reached the cave mouth, he looked down to try and spot the man, but he was nowhere in sight, the greenery blocking any sight of his friend. On his pure instinct, he jumped after Nagi, but instead of falling, he was caught by the large hand of one of the creatures behind him, "Let go of Cyll! Nagi! Nagi fell! Nagi fell! I have to save Nagi!" He yelled, but wasn't let go. His group members all looked at each other as if they all had the same thought in their heads. That they were glad Nagi fell down because they didn't like him. The white haired human was completely caught off guard with the fall, he didn't even have time to properly process what him falling down meant. All he was thinking that he needed to go after him and save him from falling. If he fell into water, he was dead. If he met the ground, he was dead. If he lived after the fall, something could just stroll by and eat him.

The alien primate kept holding onto Cyll and leaped out onto a lower mushroom and then up, grabbing a think hanging vine. The farther they carried him, the louder Cyll began to cry. The first thing on the planet that resembled him. Spoke the same special language as him... he was gone. How could he have not kept him from jumping out of the cave like that? He wasn't even considering that it was Nagi's fault for being clumsy. Nagi was just like that, he couldn't help it. It was Cyll's job to keep an eye on him and make sure he didn't do something exactly like this! "Naaagi!" Sobbing, he kept moving around, wanting to get loose, but he was firmly gripped by his friend in his hand. They haven't even been together for a full day... They had so much to talk about. They were supposed to be together by fate.

He couldn't get free for some time and the more he struggled the more tired he got, the crying didn't help. He kept weeping Nagi's name, his eyes letting out tears like a waterfall, but suddenly when one of the branches his temporary captor was on broke under its weight, the creature made a gasping noise and accidentally loosened his grip on Cyll. Cyll's eyes widened and he instantly gathered strength to break free completely. He fell on a branch and before anyone of them grabbed him again, he made a run for it, back where they came. He wasn't faster than his family, they were far bigger and stronger than himself, but because of his smaller size, he was able to take a more denser path, the vines too thick and bundled up for them to have followed him. All that was going through his mind was how he had to find Nagi and as fast as he could... He had to find him and save him before he fell, the poor thing not understanding how he would have fallen all the way down a long time ago. In his mind, he just felt like nothing could possibly put them apart.

He gasped for breath. His heart was pounding too quickly, from the rush of the fall. What in the world was a trampoline doing on Lustris?! He gulped down some more air, trying to calm himself. But a near death experience wasn't something to be very calm about. He shakily picked himself up, and brushed off the ashen dirt dusting his pants. Walking around the trampoline, he tried to figure out what it was made of. No springs were in sight, nor bouncy silicon or rubber... so what was it?! He gingerly touched the rough, stiff surface. It was the hide of some kind of animal. It wasn't a trampoline! Some creature, or creatures were merely tanning a hide stretched over a structure of rods... was it possible that humans were on Lustris?!

It was not possible for some sort of... animal to know how to skin an animal and cure and tan it. He looked around in bewilderment. Who...? The "trampoline" lay in the center of a large, open area. Only one hide. Nagi checked the underside of the hide, wondering what kind of animal it was. Ah...?! He recognized the fur. It looked like the fur of one of the monkey people Cyll called "family." He was disturbed by a rustling noise.

Without warning, 7 small holes appeared around Nagi and the "trampoline." Huh? And out from the small holes, short, bony creatures scurried out. Their eyes were large and bug-like, their skin a pale, sickly lavender. They poured endlessly from the holes, surround Nagi in seconds. "W-wha—?!" What were those things?!

Nagi regretted leaving Cyll. Really, how was he to escape this situation?! One little creature trod forth, closing in on Nagi, while the others kept a 2 feet radius around him. He stared down at the short thing. "Caelus de venis?" (You come down from the sky?) Foreign sounds came out of the creature's mouth as it waved its lanky arms, gesturing up, then down, waving back and forth. "Estne deus?!" (Are you the god?!) The creature spoke louder, seemingly more... angry? Nagi looked confusedly at the creature.

The creature seemed to lose it, and with a flick of a finger, the army of small things charged at him, jumping on him, mobbing him. "Ahhhh! WHAT THE FUDGESICLES!!!" Nagi struggled, writhing around, throwing creatures off of him left and right. But they never seemed to end. Until one creature shrieked, raising Nagi's radio transmitter in the air. Everything froze. The first creature who had spoken to him waved his hand and every single creature backed off. The radio transmitter was handed to their... leader (?).

The creature stared into Nagi's eyes deeply. "Tu. Es. Deus." (You. Are. The. God.) Waving his hand, the creature was given a small silver device. The leader creature bowed and handed both items to Nagi. And just as quickly as they appeared, they disappeared. The trampoline... was also somehow gone. He looked at the two items confusedly. The silver device looked like a recording device. He tucked his radio transmitter into his lab coat pocket and turned the silver device over and over in his hands.

After wandering around for a while, Nagi felt the signs of hunger. The wind, however, carried a fruity scent and Nagi curiously followed it, wondering if this fruit was safe to eat. And then he fell. Urgh... I hit my head on a rock... Feeling a bit lightheaded, he wondered what had made him fall like that.

A banana peel. A BANANA PEEL!

Nagi couldn't hide his irritation and chagrin. A banana peel. So where were the bananas? Looking up into the trees, he saw a small clump of crescent moon shaped fruit. Oh! There they are! But he doubt he could climb. *Plop* A banana dropped down in front of him. Oh! Luck— Another hit his head. Peering up into the tree, he saw one of the big monkeys that looked like Cyll's "Dad". The bananas continued to rain upon him. Cyll must have gotten his tendency to throw fruit at people from them...

Nagi chuckled. And ate bananas while the monkeys slowly exhausted their ammunition. Ah... but why do I feel... so dizzy?! He picked up another banana and proceeded to peel it. But why was the banana wet and slick... and red...? Nagi slowly slipped into unconsciousness, head hitting the ground once more, a suspicious pool of red stuff (ketchup?) staining the ground.

"N-Nagi..." Cyll weeped when he eventually came back to the site, grabbing a thick give from a tree and jumping down the way Nagi fell to catch him before he fell to the ground. But he wasn't anywhere to be seen. Panting with panic, he scratched his hair and ran around the area, checking under rocks to see if he was anywhere to be seen. He did not want to see him dead and he didn't want to think that some beast came by and ate him. But he couldn't understand how Nagi could have fallen so quickly. He should have done it slower so he would be able to come back for him. He never would leave him by himself willingly.

The poor Cyll wiped his eyes and ended up tripping on a smaller mushroom from his lack of focus. It reminded him to trip because Nagi tripped a lot too. He held his knees and put his head on them, crying, "Cyll sorry, Nagi... Nagi come back... Please..." He sobbed, continuously rubbing his eyes and wiping his red, puffy cheeks, "Don't leave me..." This was bad, because he could barely see now, his eyes constantly ending up blurry from the tears.

All his life, he had been different from all the other living things on this planet. The underwater beasts, the Ahki, the birds, the lizards, the PoPo, and everything else, they were NOT like him. Cyll fit in nevertheless, being apart of a great family, but they were not him and he was nothing close to them. For the first time... The very first time, he's met another creature that was as small as him, can walk on two legs and was able to speak the language of the gods with him. And now what? He was gone. "Nagi..." He kept saying his name, curling into a smaller ball to himself. What has he done? He should have kept a better eye on him, if he had, Cyll would have grabbed his arm and pulled him back well before he came close to the edge of the cave mouth. He had no one else to blame but his own self.

When would his next chance be to meet anyone else from the great Father? He messed this one up badly and not only would he probably not get another chance, he didn't want another change. He still wanted Nagi. He couldn't accept that he was gone, he didn't want there to have been anyone but Nagi.

Sniffling, he eventually got back up after who knows how long of grieving in that little spot. He couldn't give up yet right? Nagi's body was still nowhere around, he hasn't seen any blood and he hasn't heard any creatures rustle in the greenery once. Looking around, he wondered which direction he could go until something made the decision for him.

Cyll heard the coos and noises of his family's kind way overhead. They must be looking for him... Be bit his lip and ran off through the thicket. He ran on and on in attempt to run away from being found already and also to possibly reach a Nagi faster. As he got distance, a sweet smell caught his nose. It was hard to smell from his stuffy nose, but there was no mistaking the waft of ripe bananas. He stood still for a moment, Turing to pinpoint the direction of the sweet smell.

Following it carefully, he came to a small clearing, seeing nothing until he took an extra step and saw what was there on the ground.

His odd colored eyes widened and he sprang towards the fallen scientist, "Nagi!!" He sat there, pulling Nagi's body closer to him, "Blood..." He had stroked his hair but his hand was covered in the red stain. "What did Nagi do?" He frowned, tears balling in his eyes again, but still had overwhelming hope. "S-Stay." Cyll dragged Nagi out of the open, taking him to a small place surrounded by big, leaves in a cluster, illuminating the small area brilliantly.

Cyll dashed out of the safe area for a few things. He gathered a few small, white berries, a tough skinned, neon tinted leaf and a purple fruit. He was back to Nagi quicker than Nagi would have been able to say "oops" and was quick to smash together the berries with some of the purple fruit's juice as well on the leaf. He carefully rubbed the mixture on the bloody wound on Nagi's head and covered it with that leaf, which would stick in place as if it was just a bandage.

He sat down and brought Nagi close again, resting the man's head in his lap. Cyll couldn't help but cry again and pray to his father for thanks of finding him and for healing as well. He stroked the other's head softly, "Cyll is here to protect Nagi... Never leave my side, Nagi... Wake up soon... P-please wake up for Cyll."

Sh*t... I shouldn't... have... left Cyl...

-----------------------------------------------------------

"Nngh..." His head hurt. A lot. It was something like a hangover... but maybe a couple thousand times worse. It hurts so much... TOO much... He really just wanted to stay unconscious until the pain had dissipated, and the wound healed... Reluctantly cracking open one eye, he winced as his head throbbed. He opened his eyes to a distraught face staring down at him. Amber eyes glinted with... tears? An ivory strand of hair fell into the dewy eyes and Nagi opened both eyes completely, before blinking once, slowly.

"Argh..." He shifted his head uncomfortably. One hand reached for the wound on his head and the other rubbed his eyes completely awake. "Hmm?!" He felt a leaf and some sticky goop holding the leaf down on his head instead of some bandages. "W-what is this stuff...?" He looked once more into the warm orange eyes. They belonged to a pale face framed with what looked to be rather silky hair.

Ugh... why is it so dark?! ...Oh! Right! Lustris! Where could Akira-san and them possibly be?! Leaving a wounded comrade...

"Who are you?" Nagi asked calmly, realizing he could possibly have been kidnapped... by a crying stranger. A crying stranger who was human. Gasping, thousands of possibilities whirled through his mind. How did a human besides us researchers come to be on this planet?! Abruptly sitting up, he groaned as his head disoriented him.

When his head stopped feeling like someone had smashed it in with a hammer, he stared intensely at the severely under dressed guy in front of him. "Please tell me your name and how you came to be on Lustris. Can I confirm that you are male... and human?" Nagi reached in his pocket for a scribe and stylus, tossing a melted, unwrapped blue raspberry lollipop onto the ground and licking the sticky sugar off his hands.

Picking up the sweatshirt that was for some reason on the ground next to him, he draped it around the white haired man. "You must be cold, sir. Please take that." Raking a hand through his hair, he gently poked at the leaf in his hair before peeling it off. "Could you have been the one to do this? You have my thanks." Nagi bowed his head slightly and patiently waited for the man to answer his questions.

He never cried like this before and he felt his eyes so weak from crying so much, yet somehow, when he heard Nagi make a noise, his eyes widened and his sniffling stopped purely to be able to hear his Nagi better. It still felt like a miracle to see his eyes open, even though his faith in what he believes in was so strong. Cyll's heart pounded and it was hard to control his breathing at most, his chest rising and falling as if he just ran a ten mile race. Happiness... Nagi woke up just like he should... Relief. Nagi would be under his care again, he wouldn't be alone... His eyes meeting the other's it just made those feelings burst into bigger things. A small smile became of his lips and he really wanted to hug the man and squeeze him, but he wouldn't. Who knows what happened to Nagi while he was by himself.

The smile that was on his face fell flat after the next line he heard Nagi say. "Who are you." Huh? He was Cyll. Cyll... He hoped that Nagi wasn't being serious, but his reactions didn't seem fake at all. He genuinely didn't know who he was. His face turning blank as he was asked questions, his excitement started to die down. The lively orange eyes of his lowered as he started to realize that he had actually forgotten him. Forgotten everything. Cyll was zoning out a little with that sinking in, but he lifted his head up a little after having the man put the clothing over his shoulders.

"Cyll... Um... " He really didn't know the right words to say at in in this situation, but he turned to the lollipop that was tossed to the side, picking it up by the stick, wanting to help jog the other's memory somehow. Cyll came closer to him, he nearly was close enough to have their chests pressing together, "Nagi?" He touched his bare, tanned chest, "Cyll. This is Cyll. You know Cyll! Me and Nagi spend time together. Nagi gave me candy! Candy sweet~" He held up the pop and gave it a lick, but it had dirt on it that he was too worried to notice and he spit out the taste, sticking out his tongue and shaking his head. "C-Candy not from the ground. Lollipops..." He tossed the candy to the side and shook Nagi, "Nagi came from the sky and met Cyll!"

Nagi waited patiently for the boy to respond, face impassive as ever. "Cyll... Um..." Cyll.. so that's his name... "Could you please write it out for me?" He held out the stylus and scribe. "Ah, and last name too, please."

"Nagi?" The boy had a confused and slightly bewildered look on his face. Startled, Nagi looked at him strangely. How does he know my name...?

"Cyll. This is Cyll. You know Cyll! Me and Nagi spend time together. Nagi gave me candy! Candy sweet~" The lollipop was picked up... and licked. "Sir. You mustn't do that. There may be unknown parasites in the soil here on Lustris." He quickly scribbled down some notes. Speech disorder, seemingly uneducated, possibly has met me before...

"C-Candy not from the ground. Lollipops..." Nagi watched as he spit out the dirt. Knows lollipops don't come from the ground. "Nagi came from the sky and met Cyll!" The white haired boy exclaimed, sounding somehow desperate. "I don't believe we've ever met, sir. Were you born here on Lustris?" He continued questioning the boy, hoping to glean some discernible information.

He rapidly fired more questions at Cyll; How old are you? How have you survived on Lustris all on your own? Where do you stay for shelter? What do you eat? He stared at the male intensely, wishing he'd just hurry up and answer straightforwardly. He really needed to go find his co-workers and get some professional medical help.

"All right. That's enough for now. Do you know where I can wash this—" he pointed to his head, "off?" He stood up, brushing off regolith off of his pants. "Water would be nice...does Lustris have a fluid similar to water?" His throat was feeling quite parched and he wanted fix his hair. [lol] "I'll take you to my co-workers afterwards and we can get to the bottom of things. Perhaps you need a speech pathologist..."

"Let's go this way." Nagi pointed to the left and started walking. He reached for his radio transmitter, but instead grabbed a small silver object. Hm... what is this...? I don't ever recall putting and object like this in my lab coat... He slipped it back into the pocket and rummaged through again.

Looking behind him to make sure Cyll was following, he finally found the pesky radio transmitter. Punching in a code, he waited for it to connect. Bzzt...Bzzzt... He paused mid-step as it crackled with static electricity but continued walking as it seemed it wouldn't connect no matter how many times he tried. Sighing, he stopped and looked around, slightly panicked as he wasn't sure where he was. Unfurling a piece of biopaper, he examined the satellite image synthesized map of Lustris. I still don't know where we are...

"Cyll, sir... do you know where we are?" He beckoned to the other and showed him the map.

Being blasted with questions didn't make him happy one bit. Nagi was alive and well! But he wasn't remembering a single thing, the more the man rambled words that he couldn't comprehend at such a fast pace, the more Cyll felt it was hopeless, not giving the man a response to a single thing he was asking and wasn't saying anything to his comments. But when he got up to leave, Cyll did the same, taking the arms of the sweatshirt that was on his shoulders to make sure it wouldn't fall. Following him, the younger male rubbed his forehead, still distraught. How could this have happened? Nagi hit his head... okay...? Did the thing he hit his head on steal his memories? Cyll wanted to know how he could get his hooman back, but his thought was disturbed by Nagi, who gestured him over.

He walked up faster to be at his side, his amber eyes looking at the man and then the map of the overgrown he was being showed. "... Where we are?" CYll hasn't seen this thing before and in the moment he was a little distracted. He lifted his hand and tried to touch the holo map and his hand went right through, "Wh-" The map image went fuzzy, "Woaaah!" He smiled and waved his hand in and out of the hologram map. Cyll smiled back at Nagi.... but he forgot that Nagi wasn't like he was before. He felt like ever since he woke up again that his connection between himself and the other hasn't been the same.

Cyll's eyes dropped and his smile did too, his excitement falling flat like a balloon after having it's neck cut with scissors. "Where we are..." he looked at the map more seriously, seeing a few things he recognized. For one, the largest tree on the map. He knew where that one was. And because he knew where that one was, he was sure he knew where they were. He went around the map and looked around in the details, "Nagi and Cyll... Here..." he pointed to an area, then walked ahead slowly with his head lowered.

  • 1 month later...

"... Where we are?"

The white haired boy's inquisitive voice held the slightest hint of intrigue. He waved his hand through the hologram and his eyes lit up as he saw it turn fuzzy.

"Woaaah!"

He glanced at Nagi as if to share his glee, but the smile fell flat as if he had remembered something upsetting.

"Where we are...Nagi and Cyll... Here..."

Cyll pointed to a densely forested area and walked away, head lowered.

"Sir, where are you going?"

Nagi, with his longer strides caught up to him easily. Taking ahold of his arm, he pulled them both to a stop.

"Are you all right, Mr. Cyll?"

The expression on Cyll's face worried Nagi a bit. Wondering if he had any honey-lemon candy, he rummaged through his pockets and pulled out a translucent, amber ball wrapped prettily in fiberplastic.

"If you do not feel well, we can stop and take a rest."

He smiled reassuringly at him and unwrapped the candy before reaching up and—WHAT AM I DOING?! His hand was almost at Cyll's lips about to feed him the candy. Stepping back, he hastily retracted his arm and apologized profusely.

"Ah, I am so sorry Cyl—apologies, I mean Mr. Cyll. I only wished to give you this to rejuvenate you."

He offered the ball of candy to him again. What was I thinking?! Ugh... it's probably because he's so child-like... it makes me want to take care of him or something... But he knew that there was definitely something more to it.

The heat from his fingers was making the ball sticky.

"I assure you, sir, that it is not poison. If it does not suit your taste, I do have others."

He chuckled nervously.

"It's a bit of a guilty pleasure of mine."

Cyll didn't flinch nor make any movements as Nagi came closer to him to feed him the candy, which he didn't mind at all. He would prefer it because the action was something he could have expected from his previous Nagi. But then Nagi stepped back and apologized hastily and... Hm. Nagi would actually do something like that wouldn't he? Blinking, he stared at the other male while he apologized and spoke on about the candy. His nervous chuckle even managed to raise him up a bit as well~ It was good to hear the man sound nervous. It made him more real. Cyll smiled a little and nodded, "Yes. Cyll knows." He grabbed Nagi's wrist with a strong grip to make his hand come to him closer, to which, he then opened his mouth to eat up the candy and the tips of his fingers, sucking the candy and the leftover stickiness from his fingers.

He let his hand go once he got all the flavor and the candy, backing up and nodding again, Cyll stared at him again, correcting him with something he didn't like, "Nagi says mister and seer to Cyll," he pointed to his bare chest, "Cyll is Cyll. Not seer or mister... I am Cyll." He pointed to the other, "You are Nagi. Okay?" Being called those things felt like it took away from their friendliness towards each other. That and he didn't know exactly what those titles meant. He just knew he wasn't any of them. He wasn't Mr.Cyll or sir, he was good ol' plain Cyll.
