Name: "Custom Model 42"- Named Sky

Age: No age, nor does he age. He looks 20 years old at the least.

Height: 6ft

Hair: Sky blue

Eyes: White with a hue of light blue

Personality: Is lacking personality, but when his own emotions start to blossom, he is very curious about human nature and can't control his emotions well. He has a hard time finding the difference between what is right and what is wrong. He doesn't do things he isn't required to do, like respond to people or giving eye contact. If something is not important, he won't pay any mind to it.

Bio: Model 42 was manufactured as a lone model from the company, being made with the colors of blue for a greater purpose from the ones who pitched in to buy him. 42 was originally intended to physically pleasure others, but when it was in the hands of the buyers, it's programming was erased and left completely blank. He was put in a black suit with white accents, a tag wrapped around his wrist with the message of "The Sky's the Limit- Happy Birthday."

Likes: Observing- Learns to enjoy the sun, nature, kind people, observing human behavior and surprising his creator in any way he can (coming up from behind him or asking a deep, hard to explain question for example). He like showing his worth.

Dislikes: Nothing at first- Learns to dislike being referred to as it or anything labeling him as an object loud dogs, being touched without permission, pain.

He was returned to being a blank, purposeless object when he met with his purchasers, all tasks eliminated from systems and no trace of past functions left in him. 42 was unsure of why, but it wasn't in him to question anything the humans did. For what he was, there wasn't much he could do in the first place, but then all of his purpose was taken away just like that. Given a name, that was supposed to make Sky be something more than just a number and just a android, but there was no use in contemplating what use that was for it. 42 mere just was there.

One morning, he had been dressed of something more than just a shirt and pants. A clean, black dressy suit that fit him average form perfectly and had a white tie put around his neck, fit up to the pale skin of his neck. He was even given socks and shoes. Sky never had said a word, he only watched the people around him perfect his image to a T... Finally, they had him lift his wrist, wrapping an elastic string around it that was attached to a small card. What kind of gift would he be if his programming was gone, exactly? All Sky could do was blink, move his two scopes around the places he was brought to and listen.

"He's going to love us for this!"

"He'll be so happy!"

"I can't wait to see how you turn out, Sky!"

"You're ready to see the birthday boy? It'll be just in a few minutes~"

He just stared into nothing. With no purpose, there was no need to please people with responses they might have been hoping to hear. He still remained silent with an empty expression and void eyes.

It would had been more fitting for Walter to be out, to be with friends but most of the day had passed like the previous two weeks with him typing away, seated beside the window of his bedroom. With the progress he'd made though he wouldn't think to complain, even if he did feel deep down like he was missing out on something great by being alone at home.

With a light sigh he moved everything aside, returning things to where they always stood on the small patch of clear space on a nearby table. Already now not as much light entered the room from outside and that is why he finished his work, though he would normally only flick on the light or not even bother and just rely on the luminescence of the screen. He could afford to be less persistent for once, though he hoped the universe would agree and not sabotage him by giving him nothing to pass the time with.

As he made his way through the hallway he briefly spared some attention to the news report that had been rambling on in the background for a while but did nothing about it and seated himself by another computer. The machine made a considerable noise as it powered on but a large portion of the room came alive as all of it's extensions turned on as well.

The Sky's the Limit.

You've been working on your special project and it can only be better with a vessel for your program, right? Don't ask us how much it cost, that's all we ask of you. This empty android is yours now and we all hope to see you excel further in your endeavors. We know you will.

Signed by, your only friends.

Ps. Happy birthday!

Sky read the small writing on the card, all the lines being straight and all the similar letters being the same size. Someone had really good handwriting. He was left at the door with the three other people leaving, knowing how the man would probably rather spend his birthday using the android with the AI rather than them. He wasn't off the hook however, because they'd be back another day with the real party. The door was knocked on hard a few times and the bell was also rung a few times before they left just to make sure Sky wasn't waiting out at the door for a few days. Sky waited there. He'd stay there for ever even if nobody came.

At the sound of someone at the door Walter felt momentarily excited and hopeful and only then admitted that he'd been wishing for something special to happen all day. He pulled himself up but wasn't in much of a hurry to answer the unexpected visitor. Even though he would've liked to see a friendly face, he knew this must be another stranger who he shared the building with, either there to inform him of something or complain. As he opened the door he still believed this and opened his mouth to ask what was the matter but stopped abruptly.

As it was possible for Sky to wait there forever, it seemed possible that Walter would stay frozen, staring at him with his lips still parted for just as long. For a long moment, he only struggled to convince himself that the perfectly humanoid being in front of him truly was a machine and after that, without his own permission, his gaze moved along the android, curious and studying every small feature that was revealed.

Having recovered from his initial surprise enough to do something, he tried again to speak but only made a sound and cut himself off, unsure how to address the robot. He couldn't, just from it's appearance tell what this being had in it's circuitry and what it would understand and answer.

-"Who are you?" Walter finally worded out quietly.

In the moments they stared at each other, Sky's expression remaining neutral while Walter's was of slight awe. This was his first human to be with him, and even if he couldn't gather opinions, just by looking at this man, he could tell he wasn't one to go outside much. Glancing past him while his eyes looked over him, Sky looked inside the home, not being pleased or displeased by what he saw. He had nothing to compare it to in the first place and what would it matter anyways?

Finally, it had been a question that the android couldn't avoid. "Custom Model Number 42. Given name: Sky." He said, voice crisp and smooth as he lifted his wrist to show him the small note attached to his wrist, "I belong to you now." He left it at that, believing the note would be better at explaining what he was there for than himself, "It must be notified... My normal functions are not available. They have been removed. I apologize." Sky's voice was nice, but it lacked so much. There wasn't any tone or emotion in that silky voice of his. His face looked human, he wore the clothes of one, but his eyes, and his voice were unnatural. Sky wasn't even sure if he had any voices outside of a certain range, even if his programming wasn't erased.

Walter still responded slowly, seeming dazed, and looked down at the note. Before he could read any of it though, the machine explained who it belonged to and triggered him to quickly look up again, the initial disbelief returning to his face. He considered asking the android for more information but remember the note and reluctantly reached out to hold the others wrist while he read. Finally it was clear to Walter exactly what was going on and by the time he let go of the machine a soft smile had crept onto his lips.

-"Don't apologize..." He said even though he was beginning to understand such a reply didn't have much meaning beyond perhaps a command to the robot. He took a step back, still watching him and after a moment turned around and headed back to the room where one of his computers still waited.

-"Come in... and close the door, please." He yelled back to Sky as he started rummaging through his things and gathering components and tools. This was so unexpected that he should have been clueless on where to start and how to apply everything he'd accomplished so far on the robot, but unlike how he'd acted upon first seeing him, Walter was now confident and had a clear idea of what he wanted to do in his head.

Sky closed the door gently, the door only making a very small sound in him doing it slowly, following the steps the man took to the next room. The first thing he saw was him going through his stuff for certain things, then he looked at the environment and was pleased. Nor displeased, just like he felt before. Sky walked inside further and stood there to wait directions, his eyes following Walter around. "May I be of use?" He asked, just needed to know if he was just going to be standing there for a while or not. He was still unaware of what was to become of him.

There was no curiosity to know of what it was, nor did he have any fear or any form of that, like nervousness or anticipation. He wouldn't care less if he was used as a lamp. He wouldn't feel anything if he was out by the door, instructed to extend his arms outward and be a coat rack. His functions were gone, so there wasn't anything he could actually do on his own. Would Sky prefer being a coat rack instead of a sex machine? The answer was on his expressionless face. A clear, obvious who cares. In this day, some people might care about these robots and androids more than the machines did themselves. Why would they bother putting their emotion into objects? The only thing they were designed to take IN were orders, new functions, updates, and for a model of android like he was supposed to be, also human genitals or whatever they wanted really.

Walter paused his search when Sky spoke and considered what he could do to help out but there wasn't much. The room was full of things and it was easier for Walter to find them himself since he at least had some idea where they should be. The machine was being useful just by being there, everything that was happening now was centred around him, even if it perhaps wasn't apparent since the human didn't explain much.

-"No...not right now. Take a seat." Walter answered and moved the chair that stood by the computer aside so it and the android wouldn't get in the way while he checked parts of his project. He scrolled through key parts of code, reading through them quickly. Mostly everything had already been tested and worked but he was being careful, almost paranoid, in hopes of making sure everything turns out perfect.

His gaze continued to drift back to the machine though, both out of curiosity and to search for details on his body. Walter had never actually had an android in front of him that he could study so there were many things he didn't know about his construction. Fortunately, it was easy to find out and he found a number of helpful files in between turning on and test running parts of his project.

Still as careful as before he walked over to Sky and began searching for certain features that would help him make a connection between the instructions and manuals he'd found and the actual machine.

-"Can I edit you?" He knew it should have been all the same to the android but taking someone apart and altering their mind still felt wrong without at least asking and informing them of what he was about to do. In a way Walter asked because of himself, to feel more sure of what he was planning to do and not to actually be given permission.

Patiently sitting in that chair, Sky still kept watching the man, now able to get a small glimpse of what might be going on. He already figured he wasn't going to be used for his purposes since his whole system was wiped, but now looking at it, this was probably not something he'd expect from a human to do. When he was asked a question, Sky met Walter's eyes as he had been doing when speaking, but for once there was a pause. He didn't need to be asked... Sky belonged to this person, why does me need permission...

"As my owner, yes. It is acceptable that you edit me." It wasn't exactly necessary to ask why but this was too far from what he was meant to be used and he wished the human was at least telling him what he'd be edited with... Now it made sense why the other people decided to erase everything. It was so he could be filled with other things. Sky couldn't be jumping the gun, because the use for him to know that was minimal if he would find out with patience. "Being considerate is not necessary for future reference. Just do what you please."

Walter nodded in acknowledgement and slowly traced his fingers along the android's neck and the side of his face, searching for a way to gain access to his inner structure so he could add to it. He wondered how and if his friends had done the same when removing information from the machine. It was obviously not meant to be altered after production but he knew there had to be a method to take it apart since it was a good model and wouldn't have been thrown away but repaired if it was ever damaged or encountered an error.

-"Do you know anything about your anatomy?" He wasn't having trouble with finding what he was looking for but was impatient and wished he wouldn't have to waste time searching and feeling for features on the android.

In the background, his computer was busy transferring data from it's own memory to a chip, the process progressing slowly due to the massive size of the project. Walter gave it a glance, and since he couldn't do much before the chip was ready, stopped studying the android and returned to the computer to keep watch of what it was doing. With no place to sit, he stood beside it at first and then leaned on the table it was positioned on.

"My understructure is the same of other androids and human-formed machines, having a skeletal structure and wire connections to work the arms and legs. The only difference is the input of human qualities. My kind of models have a skin-like material over all outer surfaces. We have a beating devise in our chest cavity to simulate a heartbeat. And we all have artificial sex organs with simulative functions as well and as well as an anus." Sky went through that, watching the screen as well, "I am unsure how well I can perform tasks when my programming is gone. I hope to satisfy the needs you intend to gain from your 'editing'."

As a machine, Sky couldn't have favoritism... Yet he felt more inclined to take a small step ahead with Walter and not the other people he was with. He was less loud. The android lowered his head down, leaned foreword slightly, his hair falling and hiding his face as he pressed a finger into his neck and the other in the hard part behind his ear, holding it there until a square shaped crease showed under his nape. It lifted up, inside being what this person would have looked for. The ones who made these android knew that people would have their hands all over them, so they needed to make it where the circuit box wouldn't open up by accident.

"When it is prepared, you may do as you must." He said, turning his head to the side slightly in order to look up at Walter.

Walter was annoyed with himself for not realising the small trick but was happy he could now continue. Gradually, he was becoming less reluctant to touch the android and do things without his permission, though he made a mental note for himself not to do it once he's finished making changes. He placed both hands on Sky's shoulders and took a closer look at the area that was revealed, both to figure out how he should insert the chip and simply to satisfy his curiosity.

-"How long have you been functioning?" His friends had already warned him not to ask about the price of the machine, but he wondered how much time they'd put into it on top of that. He wished he knew how to properly thank them for a gift like this. He was already growing very fond of the android, partially because of what he already was, a remarkable piece of technology, and partially for what he hoped he would become.

Tired of standing around and sure that the chip wouldn't be ready soon Walter lowered himself on the ground close by the machine. With how much trouble it was to move furniture from one room to the other in his home this wasn't something new to him and he easily made himself comfortable.

"I have been functioning for three weeks. One week in initial systems testing at the facility. Two weeks 'waiting' as one of those people had said. I understand they were waiting for your date of birth now." It was an uneventful wait... They had him in a chair and asked him how he was doing constantly, to which he'd just say how he was ok, and if he needed anything, to which he said no to. The thing was that there was no real way to turn him off, he could only go into a light sleep mode. If he was left alone too long, is eyes would close and he'd appear to be sleep. Of course, he could be commanded to go into sleep mode too, but he was never told to do that in the hands of the ones who bought him. In sleep mode, everything inside of him paused, not turned off. And since it was just sleep, he would wake up upon touch.

Sky's eyes followed Walter going to the floor, his eyes blinking, "Would you rather sit down? I'd be more comfortable sitting on the floor than you would be. Comfort, as well as consideration, is not necessary for me.

-"No, I like it down here." Walter didn't bother to explain that being considerate and giving the machine the more comfortable place was what he wanted. Besides that it would be more troublesome for him to put the chip in place later if the android was on the floor.

-"How long does your model normally last without upgrades, fixes and all that?" Perhaps it wasn't necessary for him to know this now since the other was only a few weeks old but Walter was sure he would forget to ask if he left it for later. He knew some industrial machines were replaced already after a few years but that normally had more to do with money and new models being available than the device being unusable and more importantly Sky was meant to be used for something else, both with and without changes he wasn't an industrial robot.

"..." Sky didn't respond to the human's weird behavior, it wasn't his place to say persist something the man wouldn't care for. At the next question, the blue haired android answered back almost immediately, "A model like me doesn't need major upgrades unless the one who owns us requests for one. Though the upgrades are for their own personal uses," as in if the person wanted the robot to have a different personality for instance. Sky was made to be clever and smooth, but with his program gone, he was bland and neutral. "It depends on what we're put through, though otherwise we're not in need of fixes often. Our functions are more simple and they aren't complicated, unlike a construction machine." Those things had it bad. Since they weren't human, treatment was harder and they worked all day and all night in no matter weather condition. Those rusted quicker and wore out just as fast. They broke a lot faster too... They were produced in masses, which was why if any of them break beyond repair, its simpler to scrap them and replace their spot. It would be considered cruel if they weren't made of metal.

Walter nodded quietly and took note of the answer, glad to know he wouldn't have to worry about malfunctions. He had more questions and wanted to interact with the machine but grew quiet for a while, until he recognize the chip was nearly ready and got up.

-"Just have to put it in place now..." He commented to himself and a smile appeared on his face while he waited another few seconds and then collected the small component from the computer. Up to this point he'd been concerned and considering what could go wrong and what he would need to do if it did but now he was only excited and impatient.

He took another look into the small space the android had revealed and double checked if the socket he was planing to use was the correct one. Carefully, he put the chip in place and grabbed the nearest tool thin enough to help him push the new component a bit and secure it.

-"You can close this now... if everything is alright?" Walter said in stead of attempting something himself, he'd come to realize that the android knew itself much better than he did, at least when it's mechanical parts were in case. They had to wait a while longer for everything to start functioning before Walter could see if he'd made any errors either in coding or when creating the chip. This brief period in which he had to do nothing seemed more difficult to him than most of the actual work.

The door of the circuit base closed on it's own after Walter said it could. Sky sat up again with his pale eyes staring at nothing, he was beginning to process the chip, unable to respond even if he wanted to. His empty head was being stuffed with codes and... other things? This component was far more dense than his original one, his eye twitching and some of his fingers doing the same. The incredible flow was also incredibly hard to input in his boards, however it was just a minute of this before SKy blinked and the twitching stopped, the inhuman eyes in their sockets getting life again~ the same life it had before it's systems were gone.

"Process still incomplete. Still in loading. Loading has been put into dock," The kinds of things on the chip he was given simply couldn't be processed... the docking was only a measurement of assuring the android continuously loaded, slower, but will be able to run as it did so. It would take to long if that was the case and these models were made for quick or convenient updates. "Will function during the wait..."

Sky slowly looked at Walter and blinked again, "Is there any task you have for me now? Or do you just want to wait until your chip has fully loaded?" Already, his voice wasn't stale anymore. It was just like a person like he was supposed to be like as a sex robot, except for now those things were still removed out of him and he lacked many many human qualities... like his delayed smile for instance. "It's going to take some time, so I hope that isn't the thing you want to do. I've had enough time sitting around and doing nothing."

Walter felt guilty for being more intrigued than concerned for the machine while he watched it's reaction to the massive upgrade. Even if the process were melting the android's circuitry to nothing he wouldn't had been able to help though, it was irrelevant what he felt and thought at that point. He only watched carefully and took note of the information the other provided. It was once the android spoke casually again though that Walter ended up grinning without even realizing it.

-"No, I don't like waiting." It was not unusual for him to answer like this but the tone of his voice gave away that the situation was extraordinary for him. "I don't have a task for you though. I don't have anything to do myself for the rest of the day... We can just watch something though, that's what I was planing to do." He suggested, though he was afraid he was starting to ramble. It didn't matter that much to him what they did, he knew well that his attention would be fully trained on the android now. Even after this offer he didn't head to another room as he should have but continued to watch the machine, waiting to see it's response.

"Just watch something?" Sky asked, pushing the seat back slightly before standing up, flattening the ridges of the suit he wore, "Sir, Is there really nothing to have me be doing? I insist on being of some use," with a chuckle, his head tilted while gesturing with his hands, "I'll organize your things however way you'd like, I could clean around, or cook... The possibilities are endless and you just want me to watch television with you? You don't need an android for that!" Sky's abilities weren't unlimited just because there finally was another chip inside of him, but he was sure that Walter would find him being more useful if he wasn't just watching things with him all day.

"But If there truly is nothing for me, I can't refuse you..." It was a bit far off beyond his comprehension for him to know that Walter was just going to be watching him, but with a question, he attempted to connect the eyes on him with doing something simple, "... Is it possible that you only want to observe me for now? Do you not know what your program does, sir? That would be kind of reckless, don't you think? I could have been damaged, you know..."

Walter was still in awe of the machine but couldn't help being a bit irked when he was accused of not knowing his own program. "I know what it's suppose to do but you're the only machine I've ever used it on, I don't know if everything will behave how I intended it to." He said in his defence but his tone changed after that and he spoke more softly. "You're right I took a risk though, I'm sorry about that. I would say it was worth it from what I've seen so far... you're more talkative if nothing else." He made the observation but his smile gave away that he also wanted to tease the android a bit.

-"I'm not sure I want you to move my things, but you can clean and cook. When I said we should watch something I meant we should do that now, not that I want you to do nothing but that." Walter explained though he still felt it wasn't right for him to give the other orders. "Since you've already suggested a few things you obviously know what you can do... why not just give yourself a task?" He suggested but now headed to the living room, expecting the machine to follow him.

"I only happen to be talkative because I have a working chip in me now, so I can communicate better now. I didn't dislike or like having nothing in my systems, but you and I can agree this change is for your own better. It more gaining to talk to a functioning android and not one that is empty inside." He smiled, back in response to the tease.

Sky indeed followed behind when Walkter walked off, folding his arms in processing the other thing he had said, "Hm. Though give myself a task you say? No, I don't do that because what if I do something that you don't want? If I gave myself a task on my own from the beginning I would have organized your things. And you just said you weren't sure if you wanted me to do that." He put his hands down and curled some of his hair away from his face, speaking calmly, "So I will ask again. Do you want me to clean or cook? Or do you want me to watch the television with you?... Sir."

Walter listened to the android as he spoke but didn't turn to him until they were in the living room and he had more room to navigate in. He took a seat on the couch, leaving enough space for the machine as well, and finally toned down the TV that was far too loud even for his taste now that he was close to it.

-"Please don't call me sir, it makes me feel old." He requested with a small frown and hoped the other wouldn't develop the need to spite him even once he developed more human traits. He was being stubborn himself though, and it was partially because he wasn't sure what he wanted either of them to do. "You can do any of those three... I'm going to follow you around for now whichever you choose." Walter said honestly, not bothering to pretend like he wouldn't do that when the android had already figured him out.

-"Just for the record, it wouldn't have been so bad if you'd organized things without asking me. I wouldn't have been very angry over something like that and I would have still been thankful for two of the three things you did." He started explaining, or rather trying to convince the other not to rely so much on his orders. They'd only started interacting and Walter already had no idea what the other should do, it would had been troublesome for him to be asked for instructions over and over again. "Maybe you should observe me the same way I'm observing you, so you get a better idea of what I want and don't want."

Nodding, Sky sat down right next to Walter, choosing to watch television, "I was capable of doing that before, but yes, I'll be watching you closely. However," he chuckled, joking, "If I do something wrong, you can change it. If you do something I don't like, then I can't do that! Haha!" He laughed, but there was a sudden electric noise that came from somewhere inside of Sky, making his laugh become distorted at the end. His eye twitched again too, the slight malfunction being dealt with fast.

"Wow, sorry!" He covered his mouth, "The laugh might have been too much. That is quite the chip you put in me, I'll be surprised if it loads in 24 hours... Walter, what is on your program that makes it so large? I can barely process 5% of it right now. It must be quite impressive and I would like to know what will becoming of me."

Walter was becoming accustomed to Sky having glitches, he knew it was only because of the chip he was still loading and didn't think much of it. He considered telling the machine to take it easy for now to spare him the brief malfunctions but he was too excited about seeing how he would progress as time passed.

-"You've only met me and you already want to change me." He faked a complaint and shook his head slightly, a smile remained on his face even as he started to talk about more serious things. "To put it simply, the program should allow you to develop a personality... to experience emotions, act based on what you feel and what you believe and not just the way it's needed to accomplish a task or reach a goal someone has set you." He tried to explain, but he wasn't sure himself how to describe what all the functions he was trying to give the android would result in. "If all, or at least the most of the chip works you should be free to think for yourself, choose on your own what your purpose is."

"I already know what my purpose was, but I was bought by people who took that away from me... Most of that, that is. My purpose is to make people happy and satisfied just like every machine, be it a sex robot all the way to a toaster." Sky was smiling but like Walter, he was very serious. The purpose of any machine was very basic. You can answer the purpose of a robot in two words: To satisfy. The purpose of a human was something far more complicated and nobody can explain it at all.

"Well. I do hope your aspirations meet. For the reason of your success and because if it doesn't work it will be my systems at risk of damage. I'm looking out for you when I say you shouldn't break me. I took lots of money to be made, I will still take lots of money to be fixed, Walter." He had a feeling he wouldn't mind if it meant something interesting would be happening...
