Dion turned his head to look at Basil when the question was asked. He hadn't expected the other to pose such a question after his offer for Basil to come was rejected. Turning back to look at the sky, he replied. "If you live in a village, there is never a moment of solitude. When you need help, there will definitely be someone there to aid you. Everyone is friendly and the children play together. No one is left out of anything and birthdays are celebrated by the whole village. To summarize it all, a village is a very lively and happy place." Dion paused then continued,"as long as the humans aren't around to ruin everything." He covered his eyes once more refusing to let the tears out. Once he got everyone back, Dion would do everything he could to make sure that their peace was never disrupted again. He would protect them and never let anything like this happen again.

Basil kept his eyes on the sky as Dion spoke about living in a village. He always lived in solitude, he helped himself, he didn't need to celebrate his birthday, and he's never interacted with any of his kind besides his mother and Dion. He separated himself from everything, the thought of going into such a crowded place made him feel sick. He'd be completely lost, unable to keep up with the pace of the others. But it sounded intriguing to live in such a place, he was curious about it. He looked over at Dion, feeling bad he brought up the topic. "I don't think all humans are bad. There may be many that are terrible but my mother said she met many nice ones as well," his voice soft. Bringing up his mother was okay in this situation, he was just sharing the knowledge she had given to him. "If I were to live in a village, would I even be accepted because of my view on humans and the world? No, I'd be an outcast for sure." He wanted to try living in a village to have company around, but he didn't want to be shunned because of his mothers teachings on the world. His view must be different from many of his kind, it was probably odd to think humans were good creatures. His mother taught him never to judge a person by another's actions.

Dion gave Basil a sideway glance before looking back at the sky. "Yeah? She must be lucky then, getting to meet nice humans. The ones I met weren't nice at all,"he said bitterly. Even if there were nice humans as Basil had said, they probably weren't powerful and that's because they were nice. The bad ones used dishonesty and cruelty to rise in power. Then whatever they did to Nephylyms influenced most humans to do the same. If Dion had a chance to meet the nice ones first, he probably wouldn't have been so bitter.

"If you were to come to my village before it was burnt, you probably wouldn't be outcasted since most us hadn't had the chance of meeting humans. But after everything has happened, I don't think that they would accept the views of humans being nice. We've experienced first hand what they are capable of," Dion continued. "But if there really are nice humans, I would love to meet them,"this he said softly. Humans made him wary but meeting the nice ones wouldn't be a bad idea at all.

Basil sat up, staring at the ground. "You can't judge many by one's actions. That's what my mother said. It's not fair to blame all because of some, it's like saying since one nephylym murdered someone, we all are murderers. It's not fair, but I guess the world isnt fair," he tone cold. He didn't want to talk about it anymore. It was making him sad thinking about all the bad the humans did to his kind, but all the good that wasn't being recognized. He was stuck in the middle observing both sides, unable to say or do anything. He brought his knees to his chest, hugging his arms around them. "Is it really a good idea for me to go with you? My mother used to say I was a fragile flower, anything could destroy me instant. From what you've been saying, it sounds like I wouldn't survive out there." He would be honest, he was scared, but his curiosity would take over. He'd forget about the dangers, allowing himself to be so vulnerable.

"Maybe it's silly to say, but I'm tired of being alone. But I don't want to be with too many people either. I've always had it just me and my mother, the two of us against the world. But now I'm alone again, what am I supposed to do? I need company but I don't want to allow myself to be near people. I don't like having many people around me, seeing my flaws. It scares me, but I'm so scared of being alone," he started to ramble. This was the first time he was able to express his feelings to someone. He felt so lost and he needed guidance, Dion just happened to be there at the wrong time when he started to let himself go. He hurt from being so alone, now he had someone to share that empty space with, but he'd soon be gone as well. Just like his mother. The world brought many cruelties upon people, he was no exception. "Oh, sorry. You don't have to listen to my nonsense."

Listening to Basil's words, Dion could almost feel his pain. Basil must have really missed his mother and Dion could understand. He too missed his family. Dion sat up and moved to hug the Nephylym from behind. "You're not alone anymore, I'm with you," he said, tightening his arms slightly. "Its fine if you don't want to go with me and I won't force you. But I want you to know that the world out there is so vast, it'll be a pity if you don't see it." Dion didn't want Basil to feel uncomfortable but at the same time, he didn't want it to just end like that. "If you're afraid, you can depend on me just like I'm depending on you now when I'm injured." If Basil did go with him, Dion would make sure to never leave his side just like his mother did. "It'll be fine Basil. Everything will turn out fine."

Basil could feel the tears welling up in his eyes. "How can you be so sure it'll be fine? Nothing is fine in this world, everything disappears, vanishes," his voice meek. He felt his shoulders shaking as he began to cry. The first time he cried in years, all his unwanted emotions just flowing out of him. Having another of his kind around brought out such an emotional part of him. "You're here but then you'll leave too, just like everything else in this world," he spoke between sobs. He wiped the tests from his face as they kept flowing out. He gripped on the hands that were wrapped around him, keeping them securely there. He didn't want Dion to let go, he didn't want to let Dion go. He wanted to keep him there, keep himself reminded that someone was near him for once. He needed the warmth, he felt so cold. He needed to feel secure once more, he felt so lost and alone. "I can't... be alone anymore." He groped the hands tighter, letting the tears fall from his face, hitting his knees.

Dion kept quiet as Basil voiced out his heart. He placed his head on the Nephylym's shoulder and tightened his arms once more if only to reassure Basil. "I promise you Basil. I promise that as long as I am alive, I shall never leave your side,"he vowed. "Even if you chase me away, I won't leave." Basil had suffered, he had been lonely for so long while Dion grew up with his village. Only when he lost his village did he realise how lucky he was and after he saw Basil's situation. "You won't be alone anymore."

Basil stopped crying after a bit and began to laugh. "To think it only took a day for me to start crying and fussing. I'm sorry you had to see me like this," his voice scratchy from crying. He kept a hand on the hands wrapped around him, making sure they weren't letting go yet, the other hand he used to wipe away any remaining tears. "I can't believe that though Dion, I can't live in a village with you. You need to be in a village to recolonize it, you are going to leave me alone. It's inevitable." He leaned into the hold a bit, out sprawling his legs. He kept his eyes on the ground, not daring to make eye contact with the head on his shoulder. He had completely forgotten that he needed to take the boy down the ladder in all his emotional mess. Dion being there just reminded of how be missed his mother so much and how he was so empty when she left. Basil finally felt the hollowness inside fade with the other boy there, he felt warm and fuzzy inside, complete. But that was going to be ripped away from him soon. The world was giving him a source of joy just to take it away, cruelty knew no bounds. "I do want to go with you though, I want to see the world, I'm just so scared of leaving. I've always lived comfortably, suddenly leaving that is quite scary, you know? I'm sure you do."

Dion frowned at Basil's words,"I don't mind you crying in front of me." He kept his hold on Basil and took a whiff of the Nephylym's forestry scent. "Who said that its inevitable? It id impossible to be together every second, that I must admit. But it doesn't mean that I can't come to see you," Dion argued. After recolonizing the village, Dion could still visit Basil any time he wanted. He wasn't going to let him be alone again, that was for sure. "But that is only if I succeed. If I don't succeed in recolonizing my village, I would probably be dead then. The village won't exist anymore." Dion hated to think this way but there was a possibility that he may lose his life in the process of recovering his fellow villagers. No one could predict the future and the humans had such a huge reign over the world, Nephylyms couldn't compete. "But we would most definitely still see each other if I return to the village."

"How can you be so sure? How dis you be so sure you won't forget all about me?" his voice meek. He didn't know what to say anymore. He was so confused by Dion and his words. If he were to die then Basil would never see him again, if he were to recolonize the village then it'd be his main priority rather than some silly boy who feels lonely. "Please don't speak of death right now, I can't bear to think of you dying." He looked at all his surroundings. They were peaceful, they made him feel calm. Calm was a nice feeling to have in such a situation. "We should probably get you back down so I can change your bandage." He didn't move though, he just sat there, keeping his hand on the arms still around him. He really didn't want to move from the relaxing position. It was warm, he needed the warmth.

"I won't forget about you Basil," Dion said firmly to prove his determination. "I made a promise to you and I intend to keep it." Dion smiled and nuzzled his face into the other's neck, happy that the other was worried about whether he lived or not. He found it ironic that they had only met the previous day yet were already so attached to each other. Must be because they were the same kind seeking comfort in each other. "But I don't want to go down yet. I'm feeling a little lazy,"Dion whined and began to rock the both of them back and forth. "The blasted foot can wait." He was reluctant to leave the comfortable position they were now in and the Nephylym was warm, just like his village had been. Dion was perfectly contented where he was now, why not prolong it a little.

Basil laughed when Dion nuzzled his face into the brunettes' neck. "Dion! Stop!" he breathed out through his laughs. After his laughing fit he closed his eyes when Dion started to rock them both. "Ah, fine. You got me. But I better not hear complaining if it starts to itch." He honestly didn't want to leave either, but the others health still took priority over relaxation time. But hearing the other whine he gave in. It was pointless to argue over such a trivial matter. They both wanted to stay there, Basil wasn't going to try and fight over something he didn't want. His eyes hurt a bit from all the crying he did, he'd rather not try opening his eyes to see the brightness of the sun, a headache would surely be involved. But he was fine with how things were now, everything else in the world could just wait for them. They needed a bit of time like this, they deserved it.

"Nah..I don't think it'll be itching for a while since you've changed it this morning," Dion said nonchalantly. "So you probably won't be hearing any complains," he said and grinned although Basil couldn't see him. He didn't cease his slow rocking and placed his chin on Basil's shoulder. It was peaceful now, Basil had stopped crying which was a good thing. And the comfortable silence of the forest calmed his heart. Dion closed his eyes, enjoying the current peace, reluctant to break it. But good things had to end, they couldn't stay like this forever. But perhaps a little longer. He enjoyed Basil's presence and company. "Basil, what nice things do your mother say about humans? I would like to know,"he asked out of the blue. If there were nice humans that a Nephylym had seen, Dion wanted to know more about them. So far, his mind had been clouded by fear of witnessing their bad deeds but never the good ones. Dion wanted to know what kind of good things humans could do.

Basil was letting himself zone out, enjoying the world around him. His eyes shot open when Dion asked such a strange question out of the blue. He squinted his eyes and covered them, not prepared enough for the sun. "You're going to make me cry again, I hate thinking about her," he said calmly. "She always was fond of humans. She met many that treated her well. She used to say how kind they were, gentle, caring, intelligent, and creative. They are good at heart, they make beautiful works, and they show compassion to others when in need. She always had a high view of humans, but she never let me out to go meet one. Maybe in the end she was still scared they would take me away," he hummed. He fully opened his eyes, taking in the world around him through sight. He didn't feel as upset talking about his mother as he usually would. It felt nice to talk about her views on the humans and how she saw them as wonderful beings. It wasn't causing pain to talk about the past and what they spoke of. It was a nice change of pace for him, talking about the world around him was great.

Dion blinked then apologised,'sorry, I shan't talk about her anymore in future." He mentally slapped himself for asking about such a touchy subject. How could he not have any common sense? Basil had said that he was lonely after his mother left, obviously he wouldn't like talking about her. Qhen Basil started describing the humans from his mother's views, Dion stopped berating himself and listened intently. All that Basil had said seemed impossible to him but it was the views of a Nephylym, it couldn't be wrong. He knew that they were intelligent and creative. But Dion wondered how gentle and caring humans were like. "They sound nice. I hope we can meet some of them when we go out there."

Basil shrugged, pushing Dion's head up slowly and bringing it back down. "It would be nice but it might be hard to find them over the greedy slobs," he hummed. Though he heard the stories about the nice humans, he wasn't sure such kind people still existed. They might have all been swallowed up by their pride and greed, their kind hearted ways being cast out. But he still had hope that they were out there, he had hope he could meet someone so nice, prove that all humans weren't as evil as everyone envisioned them to be. But it might just be wishful thinking, he didn't know. "This is nice, you're so warm. But we have to head in sooner or later, my legs are starting to feel irritated from all the twigs pushing into them," he laughed. He didn't want to go down, but his legs were becoming sore. He couldn't move until the other got off of him, but he was patient. If the boy wanted to stay a little longer he would let him. He just hoped they could leave soon.

"Of course I'm warm," Dion said with a chuckle. Nephylyms were warm-blooded creatures with warm body heat, which was why they felt the cold easily. "Oh? Then I guess we'd better go down then,"he said trying his best to keep the disappointment from his tone. Hugging Basil and talking to him felt nice and comforting. He was reluctant to go down but unwound his arms anyways. He missed the other Nephylym's warmth immediately. "Gahh!! Its cold!," he exclaimed and wrapped his arms back immediately. After a while, he grinned and unwrapped his arms again,"we can go down now."

Basil laughed when the other immediately wrapped his arms around the brunette once more. After a while Dion did removes his arms. "Alright, let's go then," he hummed. He stood up, brushing the dirty off of his legs. He crouched down letting the other climb on his back. He moved towards the opening, going down once more. He quickly closed the panel, locking it securely before heading down the down. Basil walked towards the bed like the first time he carried Dion down, letting his off. He sat next to Dion, yawning. "I'm so bored, I'm half tempted to sleep again." He laid on his back, staring up at the ceiling. He let himself relax into the bed, glancing over at the other nephylym. "I'm excited to finally leave this place and go on an adventure for once. It gets so cramped in here."

Dion wrapped his arms around Basil's neck and let the other take him back into the hole. When he had been placed on the bed, he moved to let Basil lie on the bed. When the other Nephylym had settled on the bed, Dion crawled over to him and sprawled over his body. Dion lay over Basil's tummy and took his hand playing with his fingers. "Yeah? You'll find that its very different feom what you see here," he said. "The humans are very clever and have succeeded in developing a civilised society." He turned his head so that he was looking at Basil,"you'll be fascinated by them."

Basil smiled widely when the other laid on him, the warmth returning to him once more. He kept his eyes on the ceiling, trying to imagine what the society looked like in other places. He had seen the small colony of people from the village down the road, but there wasn't much to watch. He saw what he mostly did on his own, nothing really seemed out of the ordinary to him. "Is that so? Well then I guess that just makes me even more excited," he said cheerfully. Basil honestly didn't mind the thought of leaving his comfort zone if Dion was going to be with him, it made things less scary. He relaxed with the other nephylym over him, nothing felt wrong with the other there. This is the kind of company he had been craving all his life, if only he had it when he was younger. It would have been much more affective, he could've learned how to deal with things properly, something his mom didn't teach him. He learned about herbs, food, gardening, and how to live. He never learned how to face reality when it got tough, he always would diassociate himself from it if it got too rough for him to handle. He barely grew out of that as he aged with the years. "You're going to make me fall asleep again, you're so warm. It's extremely relaxing," he hummed. He really didn't mind the other on top of him, he was just trying to find things to talk about, not wanting silence to fill the room once more.

Dion shifted his position to lying beside Basil and pulling the covers to cover them both. "We might need a disguise though, going into human territory,"Dion said thoughtfully. The thought had just came to him and he found that they hadn't a appropriate disguise. Should they pat some dirt on their faces and pretend to be homeless. But they would have to wash it off at some time if some passionate human decides to help them. Or face skins? Humans seemed to have invented them although it wasn't perfect, but enough to change their faces. Dion stopped thinking at that point. No point thinking about it now, he should enjoy his time now. "Is that so?"he asked with a grin. Dion wrapped his arms around Basil,"you're warm too. Let's just go to sleep then."

A disguise to go into a human town? Basil thought that was ridiculous, he'd rather be seen than be seen in a fake form. All he ever did when going into the human towns was keep himself in the shadows, sneaking around. Other times he could openly walk around because the humans were too focused on themselves. He never had a run in, he wasn't noticed. Perhaps that would work best for both of them? Unless they needed to interact, then a disguise might come in handy. Then the idea wasn't so ridiculous, but it still was a bit. Basil could save that for later, talking was becoming too hard. He was quite exhausted from the tears that had drained him of his energy. Crying definitely took the fight out of him for the rest of the day, he needed to regain some energy, a nap would help that. He snuggled into Dion, thankful he put the blanket over them. The heat was circulating through, the warmth secure in its place. "Okay, okay. I'll sleep, but only this one time," he teased. It really was nice to have another nephylym around, he was doing things that he didn't do in forever. Such as sleeping in the same bed as someone. It felt like a whole new expirience again, perhaps because the other was still a stranger to him.

Dion dived into the Nephylym's warmth and tightened his hold on Basil. Taking in the other's scent, he closed his eyes and smiled while burying his face into Basil's hair. It felt comfortable, safe and just lying here made him lazy to ever get up. The feeling was difficult to describe but Dion just knew that ue didn't want this moment to end. He threaded his fingers through the Nephylym's hair and played with the strands, combing through the soft silkiness. He did this until he finally fell asleep. Through the darkness of his mind, Dion felt Basil's presence the whole time subconsciously and the smile remained on his face physically. He was so so glad to have met Basil, to be able to experience something that not even his parents could give him. He wouldn't leave Basil no matter what happens from here on.

Basil closed his eyes, letting the feeling of the boy relax him. He felt his hair getting played with, causing him to laugh a bit. He hated his hair, it was extremely hard to deal with. But it felt nice being touched, no matter where it was. His breathing became slow and steady as he drifted off into a deep sleep. Basil never thought he could be so at ease with another nephylym around, he just thought they would be nice company. But Dion was more than nice company for him to talk to, he was a lot more than that, he was something special. Would it feel the same if this were to happen with other of his kind, or is Dion the only one? Perhaps Dion would be the only one since he was the first Basil could truly attach to. He shifted his body slightly, laying an arm over the other. He didn't dream, it was a pitch black work for him as he slept. But it was nice for a change, not having to deal with any nightmares or any confusing dreams created by his wondering thoughts.

((So sorry, i didn't realise that i hadn't replied to this))

Dion awoke in the midst of his transformation. Rubbing his eyes, he looked at Basil who was still asleep beside him and smiled. He moved his hand to push away a strand of hair on the Nephylym's cheek before pushing away the sheets to frown at his feet. It had once again gotten hot and itchy. Dion wondered if it was even a good idea to refuse changing the bandage the previous day. Now it was uncomfortable. He prodded at his feet with a finger to see if it would hurt but it didn't. That was enough reason to encourage him to scratch it.
