(It's fine! I did it before too.)

Basil opened his eyes when he felt the hand touch his cheek, he sat up seeing Dion start to scratch at the cloth. "Stop Dion, no," he muttered, grabbing the wrist and tugging it away from Dion's foot. "The cloth will run into the wound. I'll go get the salve and a new cloth." He stood up, stumbling into the spare room, grabbing the needed supplies once more, and heading back into the other room. He was still drowsy from just waking up, he wasn't the most graceful on his feet. He didn't need to be either. It was just Dion who was seeing the clumsy side of him, not anyone who use it against him. Basil sat in he bed, quickly changing the foot once more. He rubbed the remainder of the salve on his pants like before, throwing the cloth in a wicker basket that he had taken from the humans. He needed to do laundry soon, but he was t sure Dion would let him leave without a fight. One Basil didn't feel like putting. "Sleep well?" Basil spoke through a yawn, squinting his eyes at the room he was in.

Dion stopped scratching when Basil grabbed his wrist. Obediently, he waited for the Nephylym to return, chuckling a little when he saw the other staggering around. As Basil changed the cloth, Dion opted watch what he did. He didn't want to trouble Basil anymore than he already had. If he watched, perhaps he could do it himself in future and not wait for Basil to do it for him.

"Hm? Yeah, i slept well but i'm not ready to get out of bed yet,"he replied and flopped back down on the bed, pulling Basil with him. Hugging the Nephylym's head to his chest, Dion started to ruffle the already messy bedhead. When he finallu stopped to take a look at his handiwork, Dio burst out laughing. Basil's hair didn't even look like hair anymore, Dion had no words to describe it.

Basil started laughing when the other pulled him down. "Stop! Hey! Dion!" he breathed out through each laugh. When Dion stopped, he pulled himself up, feeling the mop of hair that formed on his head. "No fair," his lips forming into a pout. The brunette tried to fix what couldn't be fixed. He brushed down some of the hair, but it didn't do much. He stared down at the boy he was still on top of. "I'll repay you for this, be prepared." He put his hands on Dion's cheeks, squishing them, causing the boy to make a fishy face. Having the other around was much more fun than he expected it to be.

Basil flopped on the bed, feeling his hair still doing some crazy form. He was half tempted to go back into his wonderful dreams, but Dion woke him up fully. How was he supposed to sleep when he was full of adrenaline? He wouldn't, he needed to find a way to wear himself out. "Hey, what do we do now?"

Dion was having difficulty with laughing properly since Basil was squishing his cheeks. He turned towards the other when he flopped back on the bed and too attempted to fix his hair while stiffling his laughter.

"Hmm...its night now and we're supposed to be sleeping,"Dion said thoughtfully. "But since we can't do that now...."he trailed off. Moments later, he pounced on top of Basil and attacked his sides with his fingers.

Basil started to laugh loudly as Dion tickled his sides. He snorted every now and then from laughing too much without gaining air. He squirms under the touch of the other nephylm, trying to escape the overpowering feeling. "No! No! Stop! Dion!" he shouted through laughs. Basil grabbed the wrists of the hands that's were tickling him, pulling the away from the reach of his sides. He didn't let go, knowing Dion could easily take advantage of it and start to tickle the blonde under him. His body felt tingly from the feeling, it was nice.

Basil stared at Dion, studying every detail as he had done before. He wanted to be able to burn the neohylym's face into his memory. He pulled the hands down near his chest, making sure the other didn't have any way of tickling him once more. "I stand no chance against you today. All these sudden attack on me," he laughed. He didn't once take his eyes off of Dion, he was so close yet so far away. It was driving him crazy that the other was there physically but not always mentally. He wanted Dion all to himself, even if it was selfish of him to act so greedy.

Dion kept tickling Basil even as the Nephylym told him to stop. It was only when the other grabbed his wrists did he finally cease the tickling. He threw his head back and laughed,"of course you don't. I am just that great after all," he said jokingly.

Letting out a sigh of contentment, Dion flopped down on top of Basil and buried his nose in the Nephylym's hair. He hadn't had such fun in ages. To think that he would be playing around like that with Basil. It wasn't a bad feeling at all to Dion.

Basil laughed at the comment. "So you are," he hummed. The brunette smiled when Dion dropped down. "Tuckered out already?" He let the boy's hands go, using a hand to play around with Dion's hair. This was the most amazing few days he was able to spend with someone. He was going to be able to spend it more often if he went with the boy. He honestly didn't want this to end, but he knew sooner or later it would have to. The thought brought him down. Dion would go back to his village and Basil would come back home, they would split their paths far away from each other. "Hey, does this really have to end later? Do we really have to separate because of our paths?"

The brunette hugged his arms around the other nephylm, holding his extremely close. "I don't want to let you go," he mumbled. His eyes wandered the ceiling, he felt so lost. He wanted to stop thinking about this, it only brought him down more. He pushed the thought out of his head. The other was in a vulnerable position, Basil took advantage of it. He began to tickle the other's sides, a catlike smile forming on his face. "Revenge!"

"Tuckered out?" Dion asked disbelievingly

"You wish!" He exclaimed with light laughter. He closed his eyes and enjoyed the feel of Basil's fingers in his hair. It felt so nice that Dion didn't feel like getting up at all. He opened his eyes when Basil asked a question. "I already said that it won't happen. We won't separate even after we've done what we need to," he replied. He had just begun to relax into the Nephylym again when fingers connected with his side. Dion jumped up in shock and stared at Basil wide-eyed before his lips stretched into a mischievous grin. He tackled basil onto the bed and began to tickle the boy while avoiding Basil's fingers as best as he could. Tickling did affect him but not as much as Basil. Dion would win this.

"I give! I give!" He was laughing so hard he couldn't breathe. He was squirming under the tickles of the boy, not being able to tickle the other much. It was a mistake to try and tickle Dion, but he couldn't help himself. He had to try and get some sort of revenge, that was not it. But it was nice to be able to play around with some body, especially the other nephylym. He was so much fun, no words could even describe how happy Basil was to have the other around. His breathing settled when the other finally stopped once more. "No more, I don't do it again," he said, taking in a deep breath. The air finally returning to his lungs, he sighed loudly.

"I understand what you're saying, I just... I don't see it happening. I guess," he mumbled. In Basil's world everything vanished eventually, that meant Dion as well. He would be too distracted by his people to come see the brunette, it was just going to be a fact. The brunette was prepared to accept it even though it hurt. He wasn't going to let the loneliness bring him down anymore, he knew he needed to go and venture into the unknown. He needed to socialize with his own kind, but he couldn't let go of the past with his mother. It was just so hard to break the rope that tied him down. "I don't want to be alone, but I won't let myself be near others either. How do I fix that?"

Dion ceased his tickling when Basil surrendered. Feeling rather proud of his victory, he plopped down on the bed beside the Nephylym and closed his eyes. Dion listened to Basil's words and sighed before opening his eyes again. He could tell that Basil had gone through a lot if he was this hard to convince.

"You must have really lost a lot huh?" He asked. "But that doesn't matter to me. No matter how insecure you feel, i'll persuade you again and again, as many times as i need until you finally believe that we won't part." Dion moved to give the Nephylym a tight hug,"got that?"

Basil snuggles into the hug, it felt nice. He didn't want the other to continue to pull away, he wanted to keep Dion there. It was his only warmth in the cold underground home. "It's amazing you haven't given up on me yet," he spoke softly he knew his mother would've if he acted this way. The other was something extremely special, he brought so much joy to his heart. This feeling felt new, something he never felt alone with just his mother. How odd, what was this feeling that was making him attach so much to the other. "I'm so glad I met you," he hummed, a wide smile growing on his face. This was an amazing new emotion that he wanted to feel a lot more of. But that included having the other nephylym around, he knew that. But anything was worth it, even if he had to leave. Perhaps he could feel tons of new emotions like this one, it excited him to think such a thing was possible. This was more than an attachment to a simple home, he was able to learn new things about himself and his feelings if he left with Dion. His heart raced st the me feeling, something I he just couldn't figure out what it was.

Dion tightened his hold on Basil. "There's nothing bad about you that i have to give on," he replied. Basil really thought too badly about himself. Dion honestly thought that the Nephylym was the most amazing person he had ever met. He was kind, beautiful and special to Dion. Nothing could change that. It wasn't believable perhaps to others since they had only just met a few days ago. But Dion knew that this feeling was genuine, he would never give up on Basil. "I'm glad i met you too," he whispered softly into the latter's ear. He really liked Basil after all. Dion closed his eyes to simply enjoy the Nephylym's presence. Meeting him was probably the best thing that could have ever happened to Dion. "Let's just sleep like this."

Basil smiled widely when the other said there was nothing for him to give up on Basil for. It was hard for his to keep himself up, he always thought he wasn't really needed. He was left once, maybe he blamed himself for that entire situation, he could've done something to make his mother stay. He was okay with sleeping, it would put him in a better mood than he was right now. It was nice to have the other there with him, to make him feel calm and cozy. Sure he had tears, and he showed how upset he got easily, but the other was always there to comfort him. Dion didn't give up on him yet, he had hope the other nephylym wouldn't ever give up on him. "Hm, I'm okay with that. A nap sounds nice, we sure do sleep a lot though," he teased. His eyes closed, washing away any of the depressing thoughts they were held in his mind. Trapped there, but then Dion was around he set them free. He didn't have to worry about them lingering in the back, bringing him down farther into the dark cave which he was being held. Basil was lost in the cave and Dion was his light, shining the way out.

Dion laughed at how true the other's words were. They really did sleep a lot. "Well, it is night now. We can only blame ourselves being too lazy and sleeping all day when it was light." He nuzzled his nose into Basil's neck as he spoke. "Unless you want to change your routine and sleep in the day instead?" He joked. "I wouldn't mind at all." He closed his eyes and smiled, taking in Basil's soothing scent. It always calmed him for some reason. But Dion couldn't fall asleep, he had slept too much during the day after all. His eyes were closed, but his mind was awake.

Basil laughed, feeling the nose run against his neck. He was ticklish, especially on the neck area, feeling odd having it be touched by the foreign nose. "I can't sleep now though, I'm not tired. I have slept enough today," he chirped. His eyes opened, knowing it would not help him much, even if his eyes were closed, lying to himself to fall asleep. But it seemed impossible, every part of him was wake, his mind, his body, himself. He just couldn't make himself sleep if he wasn't tired, never could, even if he took something to make him drowsy, it never worked. "I would change my sleeping schedule, I enjoy the night a lot. It seems like a lot of fun to be able to stay up when the moon is out. I rarely get to see it since I sleep before it fully comes out."

Dion opened his eyes again as Basil spoke. So the other couldn't sleep too. He couldn't help the smile that came to his lips when Basil took his joke seriously. But Dion couldn't sleep either and moving around at night didn't seem like a bad idea. He unwrapped his arms from Basil and sat up. "How about a walk then?" He suggested. "My foot is recovering well. I'm sure a short walk wouldn't hurt," he turned his gaze on full blast. Staring at Basil intensely, hoping to convey his message that he really wanted that walk and hopefully Basil would allow it.

Basil stared at him, laughing. "Don't give me such an intense gaze, it's scary! Alright, but I'm carrying you up and down the ladder," he hummed. The brunette sat up, getting off the bed, stretching. He looked at Dion, "No complaints either, I don't need you getting hurt on the ladder." He run his fingers through his hair, combing it back. It felt so nice to be around the other so much, never getting tired of every moment they spent together, and they were spending a lot of time together. Usually someone would get bored of spending this much time with someone, not him. He savored every moment as if it was his last, worrying that it was.

Dion muttered under his breath and nodded his head in defeat. Basil fussed too much over him and although he didn't mind that, he found that he placed a lot of burden on Basil. Dion knew that becausr he was there, the other couldn't do the things which he did before Dion came along. Things like gathering supplies to live. Basil had to stay in the hole because Dion didn't like being alone and happened to injure his foot. If he didn't step on that blasted twig, he wouldn't be feeling so guilty now.

He let Basil carry him up the ladder and out of the hole as per usual. "I'm not a burden to you am i?" He asked hesitantly.

  • 3 weeks later...

Basil helped him up the ladder, making sure to be quick about it. His body could only handle so much of going up and down the ladder with someone on his back. He was starting to tire quickly from having much more exercise than he usually did. When he got the other he, he leaned back, letting him step down. Then he froze with the question asked. A bother? How could Dion be a bother? He loved having Dion around this much. "No! Of course not! Don't you be thinking you are either! I don't see how you could be," he said thoughtfully, trying to rogue sour why the boy would ask such a ridiculous question. There was no way he was a bother. He was injured and in need of help, how was that being a bother? Basil decided to help him on his own decision. No way Dion could be a bother.

(It's fine really! This happens to me at times too. No worries.)

Dion smiled at Basil's insistent reply. "If you say so," he said thoughtfully. He couldn't feel Basil's body trembling slightly beneath him but said nothing about it. Still, worry ate at him. This was why Dion didn't approve of Basil carrying him up and down the ladder so often when he could do so himself. The boy was starting to tire out his weight and constant moving about. When they had got out of the hole, Dion slid off Basil's back and limped in the direction of a cluster of trees. "Let's go that way. I haven't had the chance of truly exploring this forest yet."

(Still violently worrying about the fact I didn't reply. I am sorry though. It took me so long.)

Basil followed him silently, dropping the question the other had previously presented. Had he set up the little landmarks this way? Did he even know where they were going? He didn't explore as much as he should've, sticking to certain areas of the forest, he hadn't gone down this way before. It was going to be fine, he knew his home, he would find his way back with no problem. He never worried about the idea of getting lost, he didn't have much to worry about at all. Or he didn't. Dion brought a lot of things to him that he started to worry about, usually benign a lighthearted fool with no worries or cares. Hell, he even loved being around humans, even if they were considered evil to his own kind. He didn't ever think about how they could easily take him away and sell him off. The thought never crossed his mind before, with having Dion around, it did. Was he just being a foolish person? Surely he wasn't. He had lasted this long, nothing has ever happened. "Humans are... scary creatures, don't you think?" He spoke it softly, looking back at where he needed to go. The question was different from what he meant, he didn't mean what they could do, but how they lived.

Dion had found a stray but sturdy stick to help partially support his weight. While swinging it around slightly, Basil's question made him pause in his steps and turn to look at him.

"They are very scary. The fact that they could do anything to achieve the results they want which is also why they dominate the world. But i must admit that i respect them more than i fear them," Dion replied and continued to walk aimlessly. The talk about humans was a serious subject to him. They were so powerful and knowledgeable that Dion just knew that they couldn't be trifled with. But he had to bring his people back, and that meant going against the humans. "But you aren't scared of them. Aren't you Basil?"

Basil had to think about the question presented back to him. He wasn't afraid of them, in fact, he showed much admiration for them. Humans were creatures that could easily be loved, but they were scary, living through poverty and torture everyday of their lives, facing it head on. "I suppose I'm not. I love them. Humans have brought many things into this world, amazing things. I believe our kind learned from them in the beginning. Perhaps I'm also grateful for that," he said softly, liking around the trees, seeing if an animal was approaching. With an injured Dion, he needed to be aware and cautious of his surroundings, protect the other with everything he had. "I enjoy the humans and their company, why should I fear something I enjoy?"

The whole time that Basil was speaking, Dion hadn't looked away even once. Even when the boy had stopped taking, Dion continued to stare, trying to read the boy. He looked away when he finally seemed convinced by something of if Basil was telling the truth. Dion stared into the darkness ahead. The only light came from the moon above them, somehow it seemed comforting. "If you truly think that way, then I find it a pity. Because the humans would never think that way about us. Their success has led them to become arrogant and greedy. Creatures and animals like us, those who aren't human, would always be referred to as 'it' instead of 'he' or 'she', if you get what I mean. We're just like animals meant to serve them." Dion turned back to look at Basil, giving him a sad smile. "I'm not saying that you shouldn't love humans. But try not to get too attached, because you never know when they might disappoint you."

Being told his words were found to be a pity, upset him. He got to expos fence the good with the humans, never the bad. Unlike Dion who only experienced the bad. They were looking at it from opposites of the fence, unable to see the view of one another. He shouldn't be pitied for believing something that he found to be true. Dion didn't underwater it because he never saw it, that was the only problem. It still hurt Basil, hating that the other pitied him for being foolish. He knew not to get too attached, he would still love them for their knowledge though. For what they were capable of, making the nephylym kind just as capable. It wasn't fair to judge all humans for many of their mistakes. It was the same as saying all the apples from one tree were rotten just because one or two already were. He stopped, grabbing Dion's hand, intertwining their fingers. "You haven't seen it yet. I'll make sure to show you how good they can really be. You show me the bad, then I'll understand you more. I've never seen them burn down villages, or sell us off to prostitution and slavery. But I have seen them help and show kindness. I want you to see that too."
