Never before have I seen such a rude and entitled post on a forum.

Arrogance is NOT cute.

Please point out where I was being 'arrogant' or rude??

Apparently, my post wasn't clear enough.

My point I was trying to get across was this:

I am saying that if Johnny and Zhouzhou decide not to continue the series, then why would we watch season 2 with two completely different actors? And why would they think we'd accept that?

Somebody made the effort to translate/summarise a facebook post into English - which is obviously not their primary language - and instead of being grateful, you insulted their effort because they used 'weird outdated phrases'.

Not to to mention the fact that your own English certainly isn't anything to write home about, so you really shouldn't even consider criticising others.

Regarding the show, as a fan, the actors don't owe you anything.

They put in the effort to make an amazing first season, but that doesn't mean that they should be berated just because they want to further their careers through other avenues.

Yes, it would be sad as this show has many fans, but at the end of the day, you're not important to them, as it should be. So, don't be so entitled to think that they somehow owe you a 2nd season.

If they decide not to return and you don't like it, then don't watch the 2nd season. Nobody is forcing your hand here.

then as I didn't mean to insult her in any way. The translated portion got me off-guarded and confused. Without any further explanations as to what she meant by these words.

And as for peripheral goods, they're not needed. I see them as waste of time.

You're just as pretentious as I am.

You made many valid points. But you totally missed my point.

Of course, they were great the first season. Where did I say they were not???? So how exactly did I berate them? We don't EVEN know if they will continue with season 2 or not. They haven't done anything.

And it's also entirely up to fans how they cope with this. And yes, I will NOT continue to watch Addicted if they will not appear in season 2. So that would be my decision. I already know many fans... including my friends will not watch season 2 without them. Does that make them just as bad as I am?

Having that said, I hope you get where you misunderstood me. If not, there's nothing we can discuss.

, there are a lot of weird outdated phrases you're using. Authorized body? Master tape? Sample? Peripheral goods? LOL Who the hell need them??? Look, everybody. Baby steps go a long way.

I don't know what you mean by outdated words? That's what the admin written there.

For anyone who understand mandarin/Chinese and English well, correct me if I'm wrong.

, it's ok.

a. 授權單位 - authorized body (means the authority)

b. 母帶 - master tape (means the raw video)

c. Sample - The admin is written it in English, 'Sample' (means the early model of the products)

d. 周邊商品 - peripheral goods (e.g. posters, souvenirs, gifts for the fans)

Ok, there IS a possibility that cast could be replaced. I asked a friend living in China how come she hasn't been talking much. There are too much going on right now that she could not keep up.

This is her words

i dont know. cuz they are becoming famous now, so many rumors about them, and we cannot distinguish whether it is true

She even doubted about them flying to Taiwan to film season 2. Even added laughing emoticons like it's an unbelievable thing or a joke.

So that's why I am upset by it all. I just cannot fathom that Addicted would be suffering the same fate as Counterattack. Why no one understands the negligence here? All the efforts were for nothing. The future is not just uncertain but slim also.

It's okay. Forget it. I saw on FB to find where the translation was from, thinking I'd have to understand the context but it was in Taiwanese. I cannot contribute to it. But thank you.

Ok. I think we're all getting a little too emotional now.... But it's pretty understandable considering what we just learned.... But let's keep a cool head for a while. And nothing's been confirmed yet anyway.

Here's my rant about all this.

I read a lot of comments about the fact that people find it unacceptable that Johnny and Zhou are not making it a priority to film addicted's season 2 and many people are now angry, outraged and see that like some kind of treason or think the guys are now just being self serving and are neglecting the fans who actually made them famous.

I may be totally wrong about that but I think people are forgetting one important thing.

Just a few weeks ago these guys were still just normal people who were also struggling like everyone else to make a living. And despite them becoming more famous lately they're still not some national superstars who get paid thousands or millions just to appear in a commercial or to act in a drama. So even if they have gained some fame lately I'm quite sure it's far from the point where they don't have to worry about their income. And as much as they must have enjoyed filming Addicted it was also first a job for them.

Actually, what I mean is that I'm sure it's not that they don't want to act in Addicted anymore or that they are not making a priority of it anymore but the guys may have already signed contracts for other activities while waiting for confirmation about the filming of season 2.

I think what actually screwed up everything was this ban thing. Since then, everything got fucking complicated. They can't broadcast the episodes anymore on chinese streaming websites, they can't sell the dvd either and they can't even hold fanmeetings. Actually, all the things that could get them some good money got cut off and now they're even struggling to find some investors in Taiwan and figure out how to sell the series there and film season 2. So at this point I'm not even sure the main actors were paid much for filming season 1... So even if Johnny and Zhou wanted to film season 2, since nothing has been confirmed so far and everything is pretty much uncertain too, they may not have been able to wait for it any longer and probably had to sign other contracts in the meantime, especially since a lot of opportunities came out lately. Like I said, these guys are still like everyone else, waiting for their check at the end of the month...

So as much as I'd be FUCKING ANGRY, DISAPPOINTED AND TOTALLY REVOLTED if they were to give up the filming of season 2, I'd still understand why they may had to.

But what I REALLY cannot understand is that Chai ji dan's actually thinking about filming it without them....

For me, not only is it totally suicidal but also if there's one person I'd be now questioning the intention it'd be her. I don't know, it's as if she's trying to rush everything now to make as much money out of it as she can while the series is still being considered hot by people.

Well... Everything is always about money anyway so even if it were true I'd still understand her reasons....

But I think even if some people may want to watch the story till the end even if the actors were to change, most of people wouldn't watch it and that'd be a fucking waste of money.

As for me, as much as I want to know the end of their story, since at this point in my mind Gu Hai IS Johnny and Bai luo yin IS Wei Zhou, if they were to change the actors it'd be like watching totally different characters so there would be no point at all for me. And even more since the charisma of the characters and the chemistry between them would obviously not be the same either....

And to be honest, as much as I want to support the cast now I'd probably reconsider buying the dvd too because I fucking hate buying dvd of a show for which I'll never see the end !

Personally I think the series has a huge following mainly because of the main casts. If they change it everything will be different . The feels , will be different .

But if they ever do change it, I would be disappointed. It will never feel the same again. The Johnny and zhouzhou have this chemistry that you can't never replicate . It feels and looks natural .

The series will never be the same if it's not them . BLY and GH forever. They represent the series. The face of the series.

I would totally understand if the casts will be be different because of their schedules and priorities but that wouldn't take away the fact that i would be disappointed. It is what it is.

But they should know it's Johnny and zhouzhou who made the series popular. They are the face of the series . They should make an effort atleast try please please . It will never look and feel the same . I know this for sure . I will be sad forever . No lies . I feel for them together. GuHai and BaiLouyin . 😍 Hailouyin .

Ok, I'm not getting emotional! (totally in denial right now)

Yes, I see it as some sort of betrayal. Because we, the family here, helped to bring awareness to their presence.. and this series, of course. And like I said earlier, it was like a huge slap across the face. And apparently, some people are totally fine with it because it's all part of 'business'.

If they decide not to return and you don't like it, then don't watch the 2nd season. Nobody is forcing your hand here.

No response? Then, I'd like to further add my comments.

I'd like to add that you're 100% right. But clearly there is a misunderstanding. It's the novel and the story that the screenwriter brought it to life but then it was slaughtered. So was Counterattack. (actually it was dropped, rather than slaughtered) I don't think you understand how it feels to have suffer through this all over again. You clearly went for more of a political correctness approach, though.

And you supported my argument in some aspects. Like if we're not important to them, then it's the same deal the other way. For example, Addicted season 2 without them would be worthless/pointless. But somehow you think I'm berating them just because I don't agree with this? You missed on earlier posts regarding CJD's "test" on fans. I don't think she did such a thing but nevertheless, truthful or not, I find this type of behavior offensive and unethical. And I think I have every right to be angry and frustrated about everything that has been going on. But you need to understand that it's an insult to injury NOT to cast Johnny and Zhouzhou. Again, with this in mind, considering they're famous because of Addicted, (It's obvious 'Addicted' is more important to us, the fans, than their other projects.) If they split for good, then so be it. I'll say my goodbyes. I don't see how I berated them. It just means I will lose my interest in them if they choose not to be in season 2. Simple. Especially when it would be considered incomplete.

Yes, they're normal folks,

just like us. Let's not forget that. I'd hate to see them, the victims being pimped by entertainment industry. That's the truth. For all we know, they could be short of funds, due to ban and all that shit... I am not placing blame on them but rather hoping that they'd be the same Johnny and ZhouZhou as we knew before, and they'd be just.... human, not less human. Not more distant. Away from the fanbase and start to act differently due to regulations under new managers or contracts.

They got too big. And now it's entirely up to them to take part in Season 2 or not.... People might say they don't have much of a choice. Yes, I believe they do have a choice. It could be THEM making them think they don't, who knows? I can't bring myself to believe that entertainment industry is beneficial for anyone. I'd hate if anyone says 'well that's business' Things are the same because people let it continue. We should be allowed to criticize the industry's ethics and practices- because we have young girls who are going anorexic because of the beauty standards in magazines. Today, that's changing. So I criticize the management. And it's being handled very poorly, due to various reasons and obstacles. A lot of things happened and it's getting out of control. Their priorities are not set straight at all.

Rather than worshiping them in their lights of the paparazzi and photographers. And not their lights in Addicted. What is the meaning of it, then? There are better things to consider, like their performance or the novel. There's a deeper meaning to life like this. So it's not unfair, in my opinion, to make up better time discussing something else and they'll do their own things. Considering makeyougo's quote, no biggie if they lose a fan or two.

It'd be a huge waste, though.

So if I stop being a fan of them, I am a bad guy? Again, I loved Addicted. And I loved Johnny as GUHAI and ZhouZhou as BLY, because they are THEM!!! and without them, I cannot see them. Then the storyline is left for dead.

So here we are, leaving in limbo.

, since you were getting emotional when quoting my post, I'd like to reply.

1) let us do not forget that the series is banned by Chinese government. If you are Chinese nationals like CJD, Johnny and Zhouzhou, I think, you need to be careful in your actions to avoid drawing the government's eyes toward you. Repercussions may come directly or indirectly, may come in various forms such as disallowing them from modelling/acting/singing in China, paying fines, criminalised, etc. I argue that this is something we have to keep in mind first and foremost when discussing about Addicted.

2) CJD is not only a script writer, she also runs a company. Zhouzhou is under her management, IIRC. Therefore, she has to think broader than scriptwriting. More than that, I think she is genuinely care about her actors, at least that is what I get from seeing her swift and firm response to protect Zhouzhou from the rumours.

She has to take into consideration the risks and benefits of producing season 2. If season 2 can not be aired in mainland China, how could the sponsors gain money from it? With regards to CJD and the actors, participating in season 2 is risky because of the ban as I have explained in previous point. Should they do that or not?

3) I believe that it is within our rights to state our opinions on Addicted, the actors etc. We can share that through official channels to gain CJD and the boys' attention. I am sure that after the statement/interview, lots of users already posted their thoughts on these official channels. These thoughts and responses are exactly what CJD and the boys need now, I think, so they could decide the risks and benefits of doing/not doing season 2. That is why I say it is reasonable of her to post that/do that interview in order to get the info that she/they need.

4) the statement/interview itself say nothing about Johnny/Zhouzhou do not want to star at season 2. IF they do not star, there are lots of possible reason: they are afraid of the government, they really already on contracts -and business contracts should be respected not because they are greedy or something but because that is the proper behaviour in our professional world -which I am sure all of us here know already- they might get sick or something during last minutes, they are not willing to star at season 2, etc.

And to be honest, saying "they could not participate in season 2 because of contracts" is the most diplomatic and popular reason to cover the truth; which can be anything as I have mentioned above. But since the conditions surrounding Addicted and the casts are complicated further by the ban (see point 1), we will never know the truth what is/will be happening now/in the future behind the screen. That is why I think we can not judge the actors straight away, saying that they are forgetting their roots, betraying the fans etc IF they do not play in season 2.

I personally would be very disappointed if there is a season 2 with different casts. I agree that Gu Hai is Johnny and Luoyin is Zhouzhou. I might get upset enough to the point of not caring any longer to Addicted, Johnny or Zhouzhou if that's happen. But for now, I am giving them the benefits of good faith.

Wow, after read all the buzz, I agree that BLY is ZhouZhou and GH is JY... I cant even conceive the idea of not having them on the show.. Its like, in the middle of 2000's, JK Rowling asking ppl if Daniel Radcliff could be out of Harry Potter's role... Or Peter Jackson replacing Elijah Wood and puttin another actor to play Frodo Baggins... they knew this would be worse than a nuclear hecatomb... people would die LOL.. onion8

For most of us, its not just about the plot... its not even close to it... its the BTS... the gossip about whats going on to our beloved Zhouzhouzy n' Johnny boy...

I think its not impossible that ZZ and JY may have wanted to renegotiate their contracts, coz they are the spinning wheel of the show, but producers want profits..

I dont know what to say... you guys said it all.. just waiting now. :cuteonion7::cuteonion7::cuteonion7:

As for me, as much as I want to know the end of their story, since at this point in my mind Gu Hai IS Johnny and Bai luo yin IS Wei Zhou, if they were to change the actors it'd be like watching totally different characters so there would be no point at all for me. And even more since the charisma of the characters and the chemistry between them would obviously not be the same either....

And to be honest, as much as I want to support the cast now I'd probably reconsider buying the dvd too because I fucking hate buying dvd of a show for which I'll never see the end !

Very well said. I agree with you.

The situation right now is very uncertain and there are a lot of rumours that we don't even know whether it is true or not. I believe, its not only the fans who is anxious, angry and sad, CJD and the production team are also going through the same thing, and they have even higher pressure. Right now, they would be very careful before stating any news since a slight misinformation can backfire badly on them. They also have a lot of things to consider before making a decision. Let's be patient and wait for the official news.

To be honest, I'm a little bit upset reading the previous posts. We are all fans of Addicted, we love Addicted and their casts. Yes, I am also sad that the future Season 2 is still unclear. Everyone felt the same thing.

I'm truly sorry if this sound offensive, but I need to get this off my mind. Please don't argue with each other, we are all at the same side. We all love and support Addicted. And I understand that people express their sadness and anger regarding the news in different ways.

Yet, I am more disturbed when I read some comments saying that they will stop supporting Addicted if the main casts were changed and so on. All I can think about is how would they feel if they were to read the comments. Yes, we are afraid, angry and upset because they might not be able to film season 2, change the casts and so on. But if they were unable to film it, it's not because they didn't want to, it's because the situation does not let them. They would not purposefully abandon the series. I believe they also wanted to film the series until the end.

Personally, I would look at the bright side, I'm truly grateful that so far the series as well as the main casts has been so successful and for me, Addicted is the best BL-themed series/movie that I've ever seen. This is a great improvement for the BL industry. And due to this sudden, huge improvement, they encountered a lot of hurdles as well. Remember, things happen for a reason. The ban (although very disheartening) has allowed Addicted to become more recognized internationally. Not to mention, ZhouZhou and Johnny's rapidly rising fame.

I don't think they are the type to abandon their fans. From what I have seen so far, they love and are grateful to their fans as well. They would think twice, thrice before abandoning Addicted, since it's the series that has made them come so far. Again, if somehow they are unable to film it, it's not because they are not willing to, but perhaps it's the situation that does not allow them to do so. So, please don't put the all the blame on CJD, the casts or the production team. They are trying their best to make season 2 happen despite all the difficulties.

Therefore, support and have faith in them instead. In my opinion, they would not take the risk to change the main casts, they know that it would mostly enrage the fans since we all fell in love not only with the plotline but also with the casts and how they bring the characters to live. I believe that they would continue Season 2. (But, I get the hunch that the filming schedule might be later than expected. Then again, it's only my hunch). As

For most of us, its not just about the plot... its not even close to it... its the BTS...

This is bull's eye for me :)

First time knowing about Addicted, I was kind of "meh." I have never interested in BL/gay movies/series because I think the act would be superficial. When I watched ep. 1 and 2, I got more interested but still on "alright, this is not bad" stage.

Then, I made the mistake of watching the BTS. And I fell in love with Johnny/Zhouzhou off-screen chemistry and interactions.

I was heavily touched by their closeness/bromance/whatever that was (is?). For me who had lost my (first and only) best friend years ago, the bond between the boys are something that I long for, envy and admire. And when I saw how that real life bond translated into on screen and off screen activities, my soul was sold.
