Pls be nice toward me sensei /whut - - - Updated - - - I'm soo ADDICTED to them! I've never been this crazy before about a series or a pairing before.. or ACTORS before!! I'm turning NUTS, I tell you! I spent the days refreshing forums, refreshing Instagrams, laughing, squealing by myself. I've never been so active on forums as I am right now. Hope you guys find this...enlightening The video: The basic theory: There are several reasons why someone licks his/her lips. Let us start from the most casual one: 1/ Parched/dry lips. Yes, this happens to most of us. That is why we invent lip balm and its families of lip moisturisers.This kind of lick usually done only on the parched area of the lips (very particular and localised). 2/ Nervousness. When we are on extreme/uncomfortable situation, we might lick our lips to release some tension and reassure ourself. This kind of lick usually quick and when nobody could see, or at least, we think nobody could see us licking our lips because it signify a moment of weakness in our psyche. 3/ Sexual. There are several sexual motives on licking lips: 1. the individual is 'moisturizing' the lips to prepare for a kiss 2. the individual is flirting with the other person, while hinting to progress to the next step 3. the individual is reminded of the kisses he/she had with the other person To further enquire on this case, we need to take a look on the broader body language exhibited by both JY and ZZ. What took you so long? 00:28-00:30 JY moved his body, blocking us from seeing his face. And also, blocking us from seeing ZZ fully. JY was being protective of their privacy. It would be more natural to JY if he moved and stood between the Korean singer and ZZ. But that would expose his face -and ZZ's- to us, the audience. 00:31-00:32 ZZ shifted his body to the (his) right, giving JY space to stand. ZZ: stand here beside me. 00:31-00:33 JY claimed his place beside ZZ. JY: I am here with you. 00:34 JY and ZZ stood side by side, looking forward as if nothing had happened. Sigh. I was thinking that both of them were being shy because both of them turned their head away, breaking the gaze. ZZ first, then JY. But closer inspection, I'd say, JY was more embarrassed by this flirting, while ZZ was very confident. 3. Whoever did the editing knew body language well. He/she slowed it down so we could see the second-by-second transformation, he/she add fitting BGM (Winter we fall in love? Hell yeah! Winter 2015! etc) Kudos to you, whoever you are! 4. Hahaha and to think that I didn't want to elaborate on their body language this time because I was thinking that I've been analyzing their every gestures way too much these last 3 months.... @ gayyoxx, you don't leave me a choice here! :_red_fox 4 I couldn't help giggling when I first saw the video and noticed their gestures. And after reading your analysis I must say that we have actually the same impression about some parts. But the big difference is that, unlike you, I think it was ZZ who was more embarrassed. Even though I think ZZ is really not the shy type and is actually really playful and mischievous, I noticed that around JY, sometimes, he tends to appear shy and selfconcious. I saw him being like that in the BTS, in the fanmeeting and in some old fancams at airport, and I also see that here. So here's what I've analyzed. At first ZZ's looking at JY very intensely then JY turned his head and looked at ZZ as well. Immediately when their eyes met ZZ blinked and moisturized his lips. This gesture have many meanings, including showing sexual attraction, but here I can only interpret it as ZZ feeling some kind of embarassment because of JY's look (actually I noticed that when ZZ is embarassed or feeling discomfort, for example when being surrounded by fans with cameras, he very often licks his lips). And this idea is reinforced when just after ( 0:05) ZZ turned his head and you can see him putting the mic before him and pressing it with his two hands. That shows nervousness. At 0:06 JY looked away for a fraction of a second (seemed like he was trying to control his smile) then he looked at ZZ and laugh (maybe JY noticed that ZZ was embarassed and that amused him? Or maybe they just smiled for no reason, just because they were happy). Then ZZ smiled as well. Here (0:09) you can really see mutual understanding and affinity. JY then moved closer, lowering his head and eyes. That is a submissive posture which I interpret here as shyness. I think they were actually both aware of their mutual attraction there. Then (0:25) JY changed his posture right in front of ZZ, he put his hand on his hip and looked at ZZ. This gesture usually means the person is confident or narcissistic or wants to appear dominant. But it can also be seen as a sign of a possessive/exclusive person or just shows that a person's trying to seduce another. ZZ was looking at JY when he was moving closer to him and then ZZ changed his posture and put his hands before him. The way and the place he put them (the " protection of manhood" posture; it's especially men who use it) shows usually that the person is being uncomfortable and being defensive. Here, I think that shows he's feeling even more embarrassed when JY got closer or he's being guarded because he's not sure what JY will do. He also lowered his eyes when JY raised his head and looked at him but when JY turned his head again at the end (0:30) ZZ glanced at him. I must add that their intense looks and smiles at each other show a strong mutual interest in each other. When one person gives (subconsciously or not) some signals of seduction he/she observes the other to know whether he/she feels the same. It's only if the attraction is mutual that they'll show an interest in each other and that they'll be able to become closer. The way they're always looking at each other even when the other is not looking at them show a strong interest. Also, when two persons are attracted to each other they may show signs of shyness at times. And I must add that we often see them making physical contacts with each other or, like in this video, trying to move closer to each other. When speaking about attraction, people only stay close or touch the person they're strongly attracted to. It is also a promise to each other to always live on for each other. This is quite touching as both BaiLuoYin and GuHai literally almost died for each other. And both times they hated each other for doing what they did. They would rather die than for the other person to sacrifice for them... foxy3 However, those that did not read the novel and understand Chinese cannot fully feel the range of emotion and the experiences BLY and GH went through. I just want to share a few comments on Youtube I found that I felt was especially touching. "不看剧的人 体会不到歌词的意义 大海的执着 因子的犹豫" For those that did not watch the series will not understand the meaning of the lyrics: GuHai's dedicated and LuoYin's hesitation. "大海因为一直一个人 没有让他爱的人 到最后喜欢上因子 因子就好像他的全世界 一举一动都牵扯住顾海 顾海的生活有了重心 有意义 因子冲小就跟白汉旗过着粗心大意的日子 直到顾海出现 无私的付出 一点一点亲属他的内心 因子的内心是渴望被疼爱的" Because Da-Hai has always been alone, there wasn't anyone for him to love. When he finally met BaiLuoYin, Yin-Zi meant the world to him. Every action and every word LuoYi is the centre of GuHai's world. His life finally found meaning and purpose. On the other hand, BaiLuoYin lived a very simple and carefree life with BaiHanQi since he was young. He had to sacrifice everything for his family, living a life in poverty. But when GuHai appeared, his sincerity and unyielding love moved BaiLuoYin little by little, through his tough exterior. A lot of people around BaiLuoYin did not realise(even Shi Hui), because BaiLuoYin always appeared to be aloof and carefree, but he is actually someone who is very lonely and someone who innerly craves for love alot. And it was GuHai who provided that love. yoyo7 While it is great that we love ZhouZhou and JingYu, I think it is nice to sometime take pause and appreciate what made us fall in love with them in the first place. He and Johnny are on the seme -errr, sorry, Freudian slip- same category. Both are young stars, catapulted by their first movie/series. They even played the same character type at that movie/series: high school bully falling in love with a quiet person. LOL. Now, they share the same handsome, dangerous, bad guy image. If anything, I hope WDL can bring good influence to JY, making him more comfortable with the new environment. Maybe they can be good buddies, you know, replacing a certain backstabbing bastard? Meanwhile, I am curious why WDL did not take a selfie with ZZ? He did take a selfie with Hwang Chi Yeul, the Korean singer in ZZ's team even shared a hug when HCY had to board his plane. I even memorized how to write it in Pinyin. Those words kinda made me feel so warm and can feel how deep their love is. Those are my favorite words in that song and I totally love to see those words in sub when Gu Hai piggy-backing BLY. I even made a screenshot from MV. So, I hope this indicates that JY-ZZ found a big brother in WDL. On whether WDL is attracted to JY, well, every straight pipe can be bent LOL. But I guess, JY is too busy bending ZZ . JY and WDL are also kind of alpha wolves, they just have different territories so they are not fighting. Also, by this moment, I guess everyone starring on HC already got the vibe between those two. - We saw the photos of the two actresses looking meaningfully at JY/ZZ as if "oh, I see!". - We have HCY moved away from ZZ when JY came (the licking lip video). - We saw WDL looked at JY when the fans chanting YuZhou! One of the commenters thinks that he said Baby on purpose. And the more I thought about it, to me (and my shipper mind) thinks he is directing it to Johnny. Remember that video where Johnny told his fans that they could call him "Baby"?
