I've been wondering about that too, maybe she is planning to move the future BL productions to Taiwan but with Chinese actors? I'm not sure if this sounds legit, but I doubt she wants to risk another ban in mainland. SARFT will follow her new project closely, I am confident about that. Because Addicted was a huge success fans would look out of her future projects and am sure her BL dramas would start with a good viewing rate, but that means popularity again and that leads us back to the same issue that Addicted had. I am one of those fans (if she uses a good director, not like with CA) then it could be a hit, and of course if the new BL storyline is interesting and hooks you in.

These guys career would be immediately over if they acted in S2. (and we all know that there are so many scenes weren't included from the book, so actually there will be new things to see) And I also believe that given Addicted success the investors wouldn't hesitate to finance it.

 

However I am still reluctant about her new project and I am sure her post is not about Addicted. (However this 185 height and well build body is a bit fishy)

 

I am a YZ shipper myself, but I had to accept the fact that, for now, it's over and I only mean it in relation to Addicted. We don't know what the future holds...maybe in 8 years time...?

But I don't think she's casting actors for S2 of Shangyin.

First, because if they do that right now I'm sure it'd be a total flop and she probably knows it too... People are still very angry and sad about what happened and how things ended up with ZZ and JY and many are even hoping these two will come back to film the series in the future (which is obviously totally delusional, but I understand that everyone is coping with this news in their own way).

And secondly, the series is still officially banned with or without JY and ZZ. Unless she decides to film it and air it only in Taiwan, which I highly doubt (but that may be true too, who knows).

 

And I'm sure she went through a lot of pressure and stress too with Addicted and may now just want to let it go and turn a new leaf.

 

What I think is, she's just trying to move on, just like everyone else, and start a new project. She has to make a living too after all.

I've already accepted the fact that Johnny and ZZ won't film another season and also the fact that Addicted ends there with that cliffhanger. I still however much prefer that Addicted ends there instead of having another season with different actors and different cast with different chemistry.

None of us knows what she must have been going through during this last three months. I am sure that she needs a break from Addicted too at the moment, and move on.

Call me old fashioned please but I can hardly move on if I attached to something. I know how hard might be in CJD's situation but I cannot trust her anymore on future projects especially if it comes with series. I might read her translated novels but I don't know whether I can able to support her in future Webseries or not. My heart is fragile and couldn't crack anymore.. No.. Should I say no more room left to crack? Already in pieces even with YuZhou.

 

I will respect her as a brilliant writer but couldn't respect her anymore as a producer. I might be wrong but I still have feelings she could save addicted if she use all her strength but she didn't.

Yeah, for me personally, it is better if CJD starts a new project. Addicted can be shelves for a moment, maybe next year she can produces season 2 with JY and ZZ? Yeah, I agree with some of you.

I can't trust CJD's future works anymore. First of all, she failed CounterAttack. She failed Addicted. Secondly, if she isn't addressing issues or changing her tactics, regarding obstacles being placed against her, then history will repeat itself. Lastly, lack of transparency. She isn't communicating openly at all. For whatever reasons, it isn't working in China for sure. She should take her business elsewhere- like overseas.

 

Because now, if she is casting brand new actors, people will auction in it for all the wrong reasons....

 

There are plenty of other low-profile BL underway by different productions. Now it'll be like finding a needle in a haystack if you don't know Chinese. -___- I will show my support to them. Because it can't be just CJD, but other producers as well. Let them be known. The BL wave cannot be stopped!!!

I think this MC is really awesome. It's not everyone who would talk about this situation and with so much honesty at that. And It's a shame we couldn't really appreciate his good intent and his hard work in this fucked up fanmeeting because of the restrictions they had at that time. I'm sure he would have made JY and ZZ have some amazing interaction because you can see he was really passionate about the whole thing (and I suspect he's actually a fan of the series and a shipper too xDD)....

Anyway I want to point out some parts that I found really meaningful and interesting (and which we're probably all aware of by now). Watching an insider telling all this is even more powerful...

"It was stressful. I must say, frankly, I've been a host for many fanmeetings and a MC for many events. This is the TOUGHEST mission in my whole career. I had to be cautious with every words, any kind of mentions about the series was prohibited in its own FM, even their name in the series, any scenes any episode, all prohibited and I felt very annoyed, I thought what could I do, I tried as hard as I could, I've never put all my best like that before. I had to pay attention to the actors, be careful with my words, take care of the audience's reactions and it was the audience I cared the most about, because fans had paid to come and I knew couldn't give them what they wanted"

 

"In many discussion the organizers insisted: they don't need to get close to each other, just let them be on stage together. In the original plan it shouldn't have happened but when I knew it would happen I was so happy. Fans would could still see this scene even if they wouldn't stand side by side. On stage I was thinking how could I help them be with each other for even a moment? What should I do? But there was no chance. I was given an order, if they got near to each other, I have to pull them out right away. My mission is to separate them. But finally something happened. When an actor knew what fans were waiting for for so long, and I think he must have felt something at this moment, he just pushed him and switched positions then pushed him more. I should have separated them but I didn't and the staff came firmly to pull him out and rearranged their position."

 

"At that moment, if you're observant, you'd understand that when Da Shu pushed ZZ next to JY, JY was happy. ZZ was happy too. They were all waiting for this moment. After that while standing side by side JY had no avoiding moves at all. I mean if I were him, being prohibited to do it, I would stay away, move away as soon as possible. There was no such behaviour from JY at all, he even put his hand up and waved at fans! I was like OH MY GOD!! Bring it on!! I don't care!! Stay there! For a LONG time, please! (The guy is so enthusiastic while talking about this part!). But they didn't allow it. The staff had an order, if I didn't separate them they had to do it."

 

 

So yeah, I already said it before, that I admire their courage, because for me it was obviously an act of bravery what they did at FM. And regarding JY's behaviour I couldn't help smirking and thinking "yeah, right.... and to think that it's this guy that A LOT of people were bashing not so long ago saying all kind of bullshit or saying that he wants to distance himself from Addicted for his image and career and such...".

I have a lot of admiration for JY's way of thinking and living to be honest (from what I can see in his interviews/bts and such). And I was also thinking all along that his attitude at that very moment was definitely showing happiness, pride but also defiance. As the host said, he should have tried to stay away, but instead of that, he showed boldness. He probably couldn't do anything more because he's also aware that he's not the only involved in this.

 

The host said all that was so stressful and he was feeling very annoyed for days because of the FM and this guy is just a third party... so that really makes you wonder what are the guys involved must have been feeling.... especially since this situation wasn't only limited to the FM but also to all of their appearances together....

I think this MC is really awesome. It's not everyone who would talk about this situation and with so much honesty at that. And It's a shame we couldn't really appreciate his good intent and his hard work in this fucked up fanmeeting because of the restrictions they had at that time. I'm sure he would have made JY and ZZ have some amazing interaction because you can see he was really passionate about the whole thing (and I suspect he's actually a fan of the series and a shipper too xDD)....

When I think about how that fanmeeting could have been a great closure for everyone and how it finally turned out... I'm angry again....

I haven't watched it yet, Sis. Though I heard a lot about that interview. Thanks for sharing that rare one since it's unlisted. I also have the same thought when I was in FM.. MC is wonderful and he's totally looks like a fan of boys. But later I saw SNP's unprofessional announcement and heard several blaming games on JY, I decided not to look for that since I couldn't believe JY will be the one who'd like to abandon the gangs. That thickhead will be the last man standing even there's no one else last.

 

After watching interview, yeah.. MC looks super excited when he's talking about our glorious 2 secs of moment. Exactly.. JY didn't give a duck!! He's happy when ZZ coming near him. He even proudly raised his hand to the fans while you can see ZZ's happy face with tense body.

Like we discussed several time, yeah.. I did admire their courage like you too. I always have a feeling they tried to protect each other. I couldn't help but keep thinking about that. JY was in FM since around 1 PM for the show while he can participate only after 7 pm and FM finished at 8 pm. He came even earlier than others. I have no doubt about his attachment on Addicted and on others teammates. ZZ felt tensed because he knows he shouldn't near JY while at the same time he couldn't help but happy. If it's only one sided arrangement by JY's side for his own good, I highly doubt ZZ and others give a duck about that. May be I'm too much biased, but I feel like JY took all the blame for others.. for everyone's sake.

 

LFS even wished for JY and ZZ in the end while bawling. I'm freaking hate all this things happening and wanna BURN the root cause of them. SHIT.. MY BLOOD ARE BOILING AGAIN!!!!

Actually the real problem is not the fact that they're appearing together in another country, but the fact that any of their appearances together, even in another country, will have an impact in China. And it's what is bothering SARFT.

 

As the host said, now that the series is so successful and famous, more people are starting to show concerns about the topic of sexuality, acceptance of homosexuality, bisexuality and so on in China. And obviously, the government doesn't like that.

But I think the reason why it seems like this restriction doesn't apply to CW and FS but only ZZ and JY is because people started to see these two like a strong symbol of sexual liberty and after the ban of the series they somehow became the epitome of the repression people are going through everyday. Which made people even more frustrated and angry but above all let them feel helpless.

The governement must be thinking it's better to cut off everyhing now and assert its authority rather than let it go out of hand later and lead people to some kind of revolt.

 

Well, it's just my thinking and there must be a lot of things going on in backstage that we're not aware of too. But I think that may be one of the reason why the government seems to pay a close attention to them. That, and also the fact that people can't stop relating them to Addicted when they're together so that creates even more buzz for the series even though they banned it.
