Theo went into the shower for a while, washing out the saltiness from his body. Once he got dressed again, he started to clean his room since he had left it to be a mess earlier. It took longer than he thought to have all the clothes sorted back, grumblimg at the extra work he needed to do but he was not actually blaming the merman. When dusk almost arrive, he went to the kitchen to have his meal for dinner prepared. Eating together with Kaisui would be a one time thing only, he thought since he did not want to have the creature to change his tail into legs everytime when he wanted to eat. So, he just took a plate and placed a mackerel from the cooler as usual to serve it when he was in the pool as usual.

Also binging along a towel into the back room, Theo thought to replace it first before walking over to Kaisui. "Here's your dinner. Do you need anything else?" he asked, wanting to settle his stomach immediately so that he could spend more time with the merman soon after.

Kaisui had returned to the water after about an hour where his skin was getting a bit more dry and he swam around and around until he was bored again and laid on the bottom of the pool staring at the things on the shelves behind the pool. He counted how many different things there were, and tried to imagine what each thing could do. The mermaid smiled only slightly and only for a little while before that disappeared and all he could think about was his family. Did they miss him? Did they even know he was gone?

Kaisui perked up a bit when the door finally unlocked and opened to reveal Theo with the merman's dinner in hand. The mermaid swam to the surface and looked at the meal. "I'm sorry but I don't think I can join you for this meal..." Unless Theo was willing to let Kaisui keep his tail as they ate, then he knew he couldn't eat with the human the way he had earlier today.

Giggling at what Kaisui had just said, The did not actually mind what he asked fo since he was not planning that either. He knew the merman prefered his fish form rather than the human one so he would not force him to change for such a small matter. "That's fine." he smiled, handing over the fish to the merman. He needed to stop himself from getting any closer to the creature. Being lonely was nothing for him to care about but he really did not want the merman to leave him. If he let him go, there was only a measly of a possibility that he would end up here again here. The half fish has a family and friends. Once he manage to reunite with them, the human will be out of his mind in a blink of an eye. "Have a nice dinner." He waved at him before going back out of the room, not forgetting to lock it. Returning back to Kaisui after his dinner, he felt like he was contradicting himself. Why spend more time with him if he did not want to get close? "Should we do something together again?" He asked in his usual manner, trying to hide his insecurities.

Kaisui watched as Theo simply handed him the fish and then disappeared as quickly as he'd come in. Once again, that depressing click sound came as soon as Theo closed the door. Kaisui reached for the fish food Theo had left on the stairs and fed his friends before he himself ate. When the human returned, the mermaid was a little surprised but then wondered if he really should be because Theo might want to do it again with him. The mermaid wasn't really in that kind of mood.

"I'm fine with anything you want to do..." Of course there were some things he'd rather not do but the merman didn't put up a fuss and would do as he was told now that he said anything was fine.

Theo let out a cheerful hum, trying to figure out what to do but he was already satisfied just being here. Although, he did not want Kaisui to ended up ignoring him if he said that to him so he avoided talking about that to him. "Then, how about we chat?" He paused, thinking of what he wanted to know more about the merman. "The rare seaweed you mentioned before, is it as good as mackerel? The taste, I mean," he asked, remembering that the creature had talked about it when he asked if he can eat other foods that are not mackerel. The topic might remind the other of home but he did not really have anything else to talk about after he usually avoided subjects regarding it. He was also curious if the merman was not interested in asking him any personal questions.

"Alright let's chat then." Kaisui swam to the surface knowing Theo liked his voice better like this. "No, it's not as good but it is good for us so my parents forced us to eat it whenever we had it. Eventually, you get pretty use to the taste as you grow older and it just becomes one of those things you eat to stay healthy." The mermaid thought for a minute to ask a question of his own but for some reason it was hard to come up with one. "What do you do for work? You always say you have to work and then run off..."

Smiling when Kaisui agreed to talk with him, Theo went closer amd have a seat at the top of the steps as he normally would. Forced? So this seaweed is just like a vegetable to the mermaids. Although humans did thought of normal seaweeds to also be vegetables in culinary terms. "Work?" he repeated, not exactly defining it to be one. It was more of a hobby that he could get income out of it but he did say that exact word to the merman for generalization on what he was going to do. "Well basically, I laid traps then the next day I check it to see what I've caught. I either sell them to the townsmen I do business with or keep them if they are useful to me. But if I know I can't do neither, I just set them free," he explained, wondering whether it was unnerving for the creature to hear something like this.

"So you're a hunter for that town?" He seemed sort of interested and it was clear the mermaid approved. Theo was talking to a natural born predator so he knew the importance of hunting and he'd already asked how humans caught their food some time back. "I think it's nice when creatures work together like that and help each other out. It's not like sharks that end up losing themselves in a frenzy and even wind up injuring their friends... or at least those around them..." He thought about the sharks for a bit.

Theo was a bit taken aback by how Kaisui took an interest in what he does instead showing any discomfort. "I guess you can think of it like that." Hearing him say all those things, he really liked how his way of thinking was. Quite opposite of him and very unexpected yet could always amuse him. Speaking of sharks, he was reminded that was those animals were the exact reason why Kaisui ended up in his trap. "How long do you usually sleep?" he asked as it was almost bedtime. Taking note of that never came to mind. If the creature's awake, he would spend his time with and if he isn't, he won't. He still wanted to know just in case or really just wanted to continue the conversation.

"I can run on anywhere between 4 and 13 hours of sleep a day. Typically in the ocean, we sleep closer from 4 to 6 hours since we obviously have to deal with predators of our own. There as some days we sleep more and I've certainly been able to sleep more here... What about you? How long to you typically sleep?" Kaisui really didn't know where this conversation was going because he wasn't all that tired right now so how could it be bed time. The mermaid was still curious because it didn't even seem like Theo was sleeping that much.

"That's good to hear." Theo was glad that Kaisui seems to be resting well here, hoping it will stay like that. "I usually sleep 7 or 8 hours but it depends though. Like if my body needs to rest longer or I need to stay up to tinker my traps." He looked at the glass bottom of the tank, thinking whether it was comfortable for the merman to sleep on. However when he wondered about the creature having bad dreams, he could not help but be more curious about that fact. He was not even sure that mermaids can even dream of something when they go to sleep. "When you sleep here, what kind of dreams do you have?" he asked, his eyes looking straight at the other with him really wanting to know.

"I don't want to say," He mumbled almost instantly. Kaisui dove back under water and sat on the bottom of the tank. Mentioning dreams wasn't a happy topic for him because almost all of his dreams were nightmares. The mermaid didn't really want to burden Theo any more then he had and his dreams... his nightmares would seriously trouble them. "I should go to bed now," He said from down below and curled up on the bottom of the tank and closed his eyes. Of course the merman wasn't tired but there was no way he was going to continue the questions.

Seeing how the merman respond to his question, Theo was rather worried but would not want to pry on it to much. Was that something he should not have ask? Of course he wanted to know the answer to his question but he would not force it out of the creature. "... Good night." Exiting the room, he did find it quite odd that the merman wanted to go to sleep already when he did not seemed to be tired. He wasn't himself so maybe that was just his own imagination. He went to sleep after playing with some of his traps.

Theo returned the next day with Kaisui's breakfast, hoping he was not mad about yesterday. It had really bothered him how he had acted and did not like the thought of the merman hating him. "Good morning," he greeted as soon as he entered.

Kaisui took the time he was alone to swim around a little more but each time he did this he realized just how little room there actually was. He could hardly do laps and even his circles seemed like he was just chasing his own tail. The merman looked sad and eventually gave up before laying down again to try and get some rest. He stared off into the darkness and wished he could see the stars again... He was probable locked in this room again... Almost like it came out of nowhere, Kaisui was so upset and wanted to return home. It was interesting being away but he was starting to seriously suffer from home sickness.

When Theo came in the next morning, Kaisui was asleep but he was twitching and clearly having a nightmare. One of the fish started nibbling at him to try and wake him but there was no way that was going to work if Theo's words didn't do a thing. The mermaid started breathing heavily which was just his gills opening and closing at a much quicker pace and he suddenly kicked himself up and hit one of the walls of the tank. "Ow..." He moaned now fully awake. Kaisui moved away from the wall and noticed Theo. He looked horrified. How long had the human been standing there?!

Theo was about to drop the fish in the tank and leave the room just like that but when he got closer and saw Kaisui twitching and seeing him breathing rapidly by looking at his gills, he became extremely worried of what was going on. The merman was still sleeping and never had he seen him to be like this. He had not much time to help when he heard a sound, the glass being hit by something. The creature was now awake, relieving him. But as the half fish saw him, he did not look delighted or something but instead seemed more troubled. He knew he had witnessed something he should not have.

"Hey... You alright?" Theo asked although he already knew that was not the case and it was pretty obvious that Kaisui was having a nightmare to be acting like that when he was still fast asleep. Was it because he asked about it the day before or has it been more than a few days this had happenned? The merman did try to hide about his dreams the day before, wondering why he would do that. He would not use those nightmares against him and if anything, he would try to prevent them. Hoping that the creature was hungry, he thought maybe filling up his stomach would take his mind off of it. But he was still going to ask about it after he had calmed down. "I brought you breakfast," he nervously smiled, gesturing at what was on the plate he was holding.

"I'm fine..." he mumbled meekly as he landed on the bottom of the tank feeling horrible. Every other time Theo had seen him, he'd either wake up to the door opening or Kaisui wasn't yet in the nightmare... Best was having the human show up when the merman was already awake. That solved the problem of trying not to let Theo see him having a nightmare. When the other mentioned breakfast, Kaisui almost wanted to skip the meal but he nodded and saw the mackerel. These two were clearly losing touch with one another and the mermaid was realizing just how different they were.

Kaisui swam to the surface to take the fish thinking that was what Theo wanted. He reached up with one hand to take the mackerel wanting to just get breakfast over with. The mermaid really wanted to and needed to do something to distract himself now.

When Kaisui's hand approached the mackerel after he had climbed the step, Theo was quick to grab his wrist and pulled him closer while he bended down a little. "Can you come out?" he asked softly yet in a stern manner, his eyebrows scrunching that showed how worried he was of him. He was suddenly afraid that the merman would not be himself anymore if he did not do this. "Or I can be in the water. You choose." he added before the other could protest. He was not going to believe the creature when he said he was fine when he clearly isn't. "I won't let you go until I know you're really fine," he continued, tightening his grip on the merman but tried not to use too much strength and hurt him. He wanted the merman to know this was not just one of his games and he was being serious for once. His face was just inches away from the other as he observed his expressions.

Kaisui panicked when he was grabbed and reached up to try force Theo off him. It was easy to see that the human wasn't looking to play with him but the mermaid still wasn't in a mood to explain himself. His gaze fell to the floor and Kaisui seemed to give in. "I'll get out...." He mumbled letting himself be held up by his arm. The mermaid didn't want to have to dry off but he didn't want Theo in the pool right now either. The mermaid reached out and got onto the stairs and sat on the stairs until he was told to do something else. The mermaid was quite sad and he looked really nervous about something. The last thing he wanted to do was explain his nightmares.

Theo did not want to let Kaisui out of his sight, carrying him to the shelves after he had set the plate down on one of the steps below. He was thinking of drying him off when he grabbed the towel while the merman was still in his hands but instead as he placed him down for the other to be in a sitting position with his tail forward, putting the towel over Kaisui's shoulders. Kneeling beside him, he stroked the creature's still wet cheek and then his hair. He went in for a hug, his arms around the shoulders as he rested his head onto it. "I won't ask about it yet," he slowly started as he whispered into the half-fish's ear, expecting the him to know what he was talking about. "To be honest, I'm still curious. I won't pry if you don't want me to. But I really want to be someone you can rely on." By the look on his face, he could tell the merman was not ready to reveal what he had dreamt of. He did not want the creature to relieve it once more when telling him about it if it was this bad.

Kaisui didn't want to talk about it and thankfully Theo understood. He didn't even seem to force the mermaid to change into a human form. He left the half fish to stay as he was and to sit with his tail still out. The towel being on his shoulders wasn't any trouble so the merman was a little more at ease at least. Soon, the human reached around his shoulders and pulled him into a hug. Kaisui understood that Theo wasn't going to pry and was happy to hear it. The last thing he wanted to do was burden someone else by telling them about things they didn't want to hear about and this nightmare, this one in particular had to do with Theo and it would have really made the human feel sad or maybe angry. It was impossible to completely tell without explaining but Kaisui didn't want to put Theo through that. "I'm sorry," He mumbled and reached his hands up around Theo and hugged him back.

Hearing the apology, Theo gently carressed the back of Kaisui's head with his hand. Now, he selfishly wanted to remain this way after the half-fish hugged him back. Not for the merman but for himself. He found it to be calming when he had the creature in his arms when he felt like they are growing apart for some reason. He would want to let the other go back to the pool and eat his breakfast if the creature did not want to stay like this but he wondered if he can do that as he cannot calm himself down yet. However, it was him who ended up breaking the hug as he take the towel off of him and then carried him back to the pool. "I guess you're pretty hungry. Eat up," he spoke softly as he dropped the mackerel into the tank. He cannot risk being greedy and causing the merman to distance himself anymore. "... Do you need anything else?" he asked as he tapped the glass just to get the attention of the clownfishes inside, trying to not meet the merman's eyes but that question was still directed at him.

Theo soon pulled out of the hug and Kaisui looked at him wondering why he would do that. When it was clear that Theo wasn't looking at the mermaid as he carried him up the stairs and dropped him into the pool, Kaisui thought he had done something wrong and now this human hated him for it. The mackerel was then dropped into the pool and Theo didn't even seem like he wanted to be there with the merman as he asked if there was anything else. "I'm fine," his voice cracked for the first time and the mermaid swam to the other side of the pool and sat on the bottom. He didn't even look at the mackerel as it just stayed in the pool.

Theo heard the slight change in Kaisui's voice but when he retreated himself down to the bottom of the tank, he decided not to say anything about. Leaving the room without another word, he continued doing his own business when yesterday he had ignored it completely. The results was as he expected. Some of them had escaped while there are that happened to just be dead in his traps. He managed to return way before lunch due to having to handle less things than usual.

Theo knocked on the door of the back room before entering, not sure himself why he would do that. Somehow he felt awkard to see Kaisui again but wanted to ask him about something. There was spare time and he wanted to use this opportunity to spend it with the merman. "Kaisui?" he called out to the creature after stepping in, thinking up the words in his head on how to ask him properly.

Kaisui was laying down on his chest staring into space. His tail lifted and dropped at a constant rate but he hadn't eaten and was just laying there acting spaced out. The mermaid didn't even hear the door opening and remained in place but then he finally heard his name and looked around to see the human near by. Kaisui jumped up and moved at an impressive speed to grab the mackerel and he hid it behind is back as he sat back down with his back almost against the back glass wall.

"Hi," he said nervously. The mermaid didn't want to get in trouble for not eating his breakfast and he also didn't want to get in trouble for being a burden after what happened this morning. Kaisui knew he should tell Theo something about what happened in his dream but just thinking about it again made him simply want to cry.

Walking in to suddenly see Kaisui's quick movements and finally positioning himself further away, Theo thought he was still bothered by the dream and did not actually noticed what he did. His nervousness just made him more reluctant to ask of him but not doing anything about this would make it turn out worse. "So, I was wondering if we could go for a walk." He looked at him but still kept the distance, wanting to know how he thought about it. Being reminded of their previous outing together, his let out a short gasp of surprise. "But not to town. I'm sure you didn't enjoy the outside much that day. We don't want something like that to happen again. Wait, forget about that. Sorry for making you remember." His words coming out of his mouth very quickly, trying to avoid giving the merman any discomfort or fear. He really wanted to have another outing with the creature but now it seems impossible. He cleared his throat before speaking up again, staring down at the floor before returning his gaze back to the merman. "I'm thinking about around the forest. Just a ten minute walk. If you don't want to, that's fine." He actually did not want to be rejected by the creature, forcing him out if he could but he cannot bring himself to do that to him again.
