Kai heard the medic, asking him stay where he was. He thought to himself how that was a stupid statement. There was no way he was going to leave Yuu now. He heard the door open, the admiral walking in. He didn't look back, but he could hear the medic demand the key from him. When the medic returned to the bed he unlocked the cuffs on Yuu's wrists. Kai felt the other wrap his arms around him and hug him back. Kai smiled, holding the teen tighter. He then whispered to him again, glaring at the wall behind Yuu. "Everything is going to be okay, Yuu." He closed his eyes and lowered his head to Yuu's ear. Lowering his voice to a whisper only Yuu could hear. "I'll make it okay. No matter what."

"Thank you, Kai." Yuu whispered. He was finally able to let go and was clearly dozing off. The teen went and tired himself out just from crying, though the medic didn't seem to mind, he knew Yuu needed as much rest as he could get. The admiral stayed nice and quiet making sure not to disrupt the scene until another grunt came and informed the admiral that he was needed for other work. He rolled his eyes and was forced to leave without saying another word to the group. The medic actually seemed pleased by his leaving.

 

"Let me know if either of you need anything. My name is Dr. Fujito," the doctor spoke mostly to Kai since Yuu was just about dreaming before he'd fully fallen asleep. The medic quickly handed the key to the cuffs to Kai just before walking away with a quick, "in case he starts thrashing." Yuu wasn't one to move in his sleep but it was best to be safe then sorry.

Kai watched with a sour expression as the admiral was asked for and left. There was something about him, that made Kai tense. He looked back at Yuu and laid him back on the bed. He watched as he slept quietly, tears drying on his red swollen face. Ki continued to rub his head as the medic started speaking to him. Kai looked up at the man, he could see no reason to think bad of this man. He didn't seem to want to do with anything besides helping the injured. He nodded a thanks. "I'm Kai. Thank you...for uh, bandaging me up." He was handed the key and he stared at it. He clenched it in his free fist. "Thanks, but I won't need it."

"Don't thank me kid, I do what I do because I like to. Nothing more and nothing less." This was what the medic did. He helped and hated it when people thanked him because he was just doing the right thing, doing what he loved.

 

Yuu was still pretty weak so he slept until morning and slowly woke up and looked around instantly looking for Kai. The teen didn't care about anyone else but this male. He relaxed when he found the other asleep in the next bed or at least resting on the next bed. He couldn't tell if Kai was awake or not but since he was on the bed, he was probably put there while he was asleep so he took a guess. Yuu stayed quiet for the sake of his friend.

Kai nodded at the medic, acknowledging his comment. Yuu stayed asleep for the whole of the night. Kai stayed up the whole night watching him, sitting on the chair beside the bed. That was, until Dr. Fujito told him to rest. "No I'm good. I'd rather stay awake." He watched Yuu a little while longer until this time the doctor forced him into the bed beside Yuu's. He didn't like that he was further away now, but there was nothing he could do.

 

Morning came and Kai was awake. He had manged to rest his eyes, but he never once fell asleep. There wasn't any way his mind would have shut down for him to do so. He lay quietly in the bed as Yuu still slept. When he heard rummaging of sheets he looked back, finding Yuu looking over at him. Kai instantly got off his bed and came to sit on Yuu's. "Yuu, how are you feeling?"

"I'm alright, I got lots of rest. I hope to be up on my feet soon but I still have to recover from the blood loss first." He smiled a bit at Kai and then added, "I hope you got enough rest and if not please sleep now. I'm not going anywhere so I'll probably just order some food and something to drink." Yuu knew Kai hadn't gotten enough rest just by looking at his face but he hoped the older male wouldn't lie and would say he didn't sleep well and would in fact go to sleep for a while. Yuu waited patiently for Kai to reply before even trying to order any food.

Kai smiled at Yuu, glad he was feeling a little better. "I got some rest. Don't worry about me." He then pulled Yuu close and touched foreheads. Yuu felt warm still, which made sense. Yuu still looked a little pale from the loss of blood, but with the sleep he got he had some color back. Kai let Yuu go and ran his fingers through his own hair. He'd kill for another shower right now. For a beer and a large juicy steak. "You need as much food as you can get if your going to get healthy again." He nodded and Yuu, a smile on his face.

"You're right. We should go down to the food court and eat as much as we want!" That being said, Dr. Fujito was not going to let Yuu get up. It was pretty clear the medic had known Yuu from some time back and that the teen must have spent enough time in the medical wing that they really did get to know each other. Of course as many times as Yuu was sent to the medical wing, he always left early to do whatever he pleased.

 

Another general came in to greet the lost teen and in just an instant, the man took off his shirt showing off his tattoo. "I see you have finally embraced your inner man, Heiba!!!" the general said referring to the fact that Yuu was still shirtless for the sake of bandaging.

Kai smiled at Yuu for energy he was starting to get back. "Yeah, all we want to eat." The only way was to figure out how to go about getting out of this room. After being forced to lay down, Dr. fujita took the key to Yuu's cuffs from him. Of course, all he knew was that it was the key to the hand cuffs. And not the key to the other cuffs and chains tying Yuu down. Suddenly the door opened and a man came waltzing right in, calling out to Yuu. Kai watched, tension filling his muscles. The other man grabbed Yuu's shirt, puling it off to reveal his tattoo. Kai lashed out. "Hey! Don't touch him!"

"Oh come now, he doesn't need that just as I don't!!" the general said showing off his matching tattoo off. This was that general Yuu had mentioned when he was drunk, the one always ripping off his top in order to show off his tattoo. It wouldn't have been an issue because Yuu had dealt with him hundreds of times but the look on the teen's face said it all. He had no idea who this man was and was kind of nervous and conscious with his shirt off. "See Heiba? You just have to embrace your inner man!!!" He looked Yuu over again. "I see you're still as small and skinny as I remember. You can pack a punch but your arms are still little."

 

Yuu just couldn't remember who this man was and it was scary with him still there showing off his huge muscles and even grabbing the teen's left arm since it wasn't injured. It was too frustrating to not know who someone messing with Yuu was.

Kai was getting aggravated. He watched as Yuu's expressions quickly changed. He was uncomfortable with the man that just entered the room. Kai stood up off the bed, pushing the other man away. "Dammit, I said don't touch him!" Kai wasn't about to let the man bother Yuu. When he grabbed Yuu's arm rather harsh, it made Kai instinctively protect him. He stood next to Yuu, blocking him from the man. He'd have to go through him first if he wanted to get to Yuu.

The medic heard the raised voices and hurried over to help deal with the situation. "Get out. Unless you have an injury you need me to look at, then get out," the medic declared. The other general was startled and backed off a bit instantly. It was clear to see just how much they either respected the medic or just how high his ranking he really was. Even the admirals listened to what the medic said. When the general tried to explain he was just here after hearing of Yuu's return, the doctor replied with, "He has a bad case of memory loss and your over bearing attitude is stressing him and his friend out. Both of them need to relax so get out." The general wanted to say more but he complied with the doctor and left.

 

The medic then turned to Kai, "Thank you for defending him but both of you need to relax so if anyone tries to bother you two let me know, i will send them away." The medic then grabbed what he needed and returned to Yuu trying to take care of his wounds.

Kai watched with tense muscles ad the other general left the room. Down in his gut he could tell the man only wished to see Yuu. But after seeing how nervous Yuu was getting, Kai couldn't let it happen. He sat back on the bed as the doc spoke to him and inspected Yuu's wounds. "I'll be fine. Just, please....take care of Yuu until he's better." Kai looks at Yuu, his eyes filled with feelings. He wanted to protect Yuu no matter what. And if Yuu told him to stop he.....probably would. Depending on who it was, he thought to himself. He sighed, leaning back on his hands, a small twitch from his ar,s as he laid pressure on his injured wrists. He could handle the pain though. It made him feel alive when he felt it.

The medic said that he'd always take care of anyone put in his care and went on to redress all of Yuu's wounds. He had to completely unchain the teen from the bed because of the wound on his leg but Kai was able to see just how extensive the injuries were. Now that Yuu was conscious, the medic went and got him a hospital gown so Yuu wasn't left in just underwear or something but he also wasn't allowed to wear pants because the doctor didn't want them rubbing his leg injury or make it harder for him to do his job.

 

Once everything was clean and rewrapped, the medic walked away again not chaining Yuu to the bed this time but he turned to Kai and said, "Do not let him leave that bed for anything. His wounds are still freshly closed and will open if he puts any pressure on them." the medic then returned to the others that required attention.

Kai looked back at Yuu before the medic finished and began walking away. He noticed how Yuu was left free of the chains and looked back at the medic as he walked away. Calling back to him about not letting Yuu walk. At this rate Kai figured Yuu was safest in here. The medic wasn't going to let anyone interfere with treating Yuu for his wounds. So Kai wouldn't either. He looked back at Yuu, taking one of his hands. "Yuu." Just calling out the name of the teen made him feel better. Not the he was awake and doing better then before, Kai didn't feel like he was worthless.

"Thanks for being here Kai." Yuu smiled at the other, happy he was the one sticking around to take care of him. The only problem now was that Yuu was hungry and really wanted to be able to go and get something to eat. He wasn't allowed to move so he stayed there and stayed quiet, that was until his stomach growled. "Please ignore that..." he whispered just hoping Kai wouldn't offer to go to the food court and get the food. Yuu didn't want Kai going anywhere but if Kai was hungry he'd have to go so he wouldn't pass out or something.

"I told you right? I won't leave you." Kai suddenly heard the growling of Yuu's stomach and laughed. "Well, except for right now." He started to stand up, ruffling Yuu's hair gently. "I'll go get something for you to eat. You have to stay in bed so this is the only option." He began walking away from the bed, stopping and calling back to Yuu, loud enough so that even the medic knew he was leaving to get Yuu something to eat. With that Kai left the room. Based on the map he had in his mind, the cafeteria in this place wasn't all that far from the medical room. He supposed it was because if the patients got hungry, the doctor would have to be close enough to know reach his patients if something were happening.

Yuu watched Kai leave starting to get really stressed out. He didn't want to see the other leaving even for this. The teen went to go get up but knew the results of misbehaving. He turned and laid down again waiting for Kai to return with something, the stress was making him hurt a lot more but there was no helping it. The medic came over again monitoring Yuu's stress levels and tried to have him relax saying that Kai would be fine and would be able to make it to where he needed and back without trouble. After all, the food court was basically one floor up and just to the right of the medical wing so no added noise would be able to disturb the patients.

Kai made it to the cafeteria with very little trouble. There weren't too many people there, so he knew he wouldn't get himself into an argument. What didn't help however is that the guards who watched him in his cell were there. When they spotted him they made to get up and walk over. Kai stood his ground ready to fight if he had to, but the two walked past him mumbling words about him and Yuu that clearly he didn't like. He growled at the comments, and would have started trouble if he didn't think of Yuu waiting for him and his food. Kai clicked his tongue, walking towards the food stand.

 

He was starting to exhaust himself. All this tension, what happened to Yuu, not sleeping and not eating. He didn't know how much longer he was going to last. But he'd rather risk his health and watch over Yuu then worry about himself. Besides, Yuu was one thing. People here knew him, some respected him, he didn't think someone would readily poison his food. Kai on the other hand was an outsider. Someone who was learning too much. Someone who wouldn't hesitate to put up a fight. He'd be a reason to poison his food. He entered the medical room again. Heading straight for Yuu's bed he placed the tray of food on his lap and then sat next to him in the chair. "I got something easy for you to swallow. Eat up."

Yuu hated being left alone and hoped no one would give Kai a hard time. Of course no one would since they knew it wasn't in their place to. When Kai did make it to the kitchen, the lady there gave him some oatmeal to eat and told him to come back after he ate to give some to bring up to Yuu as well. The lunch lady seemed pretty determined and kind. She smiled and watched Kai carry the food off.

 

Yuu was resting a bit when Kai came in but it was clear that it wasn't an optional rest. The medic came over and put him on something to relax him completely. The teen looked over at his friend and gave a slight wave. As the food was placed on his lap, Yuu couldn't really use his right arm so he had to do what he could with his one available arm and he was very slow and kind of messy eating the oatmeal. He spilled it all over his chest and ended up dropping the spoon back into the bowl laying back. He was just too limp to even eat properly.

Kai watched Yuu as he ate. It had been ages since he last ate oatmeal. It brought back childhood memories. He noticed how weak his arm was after Yuu kept dropping the food and then finally the spoon. Kai laughed, the scene was rather cute. Though he wouldn't say it out loud. He sat on the edge of the bed near Yuu and grabbed the bowl from the tray. "Here, come on." Kai held up the spoon and brought it to Yuu's mouth. Yuu needed to eat, and if he was this weak to hold his own spoon then Kai would help him with that. Even if it meant embarrassing the younger male.

Yuu opened his mouth and ate the spoonful but as Kai brought the spoon down again, the teen tried to take it from him to eat himself. Yuu didn't want to have to make Kai feed him but clearly wasn't winning that battle. He continued to eat as he was suppose to and gave up after the bowl was finished and leaned back not even caring about the mess he had made. Yuu was quiet wishing Kai hadn't left him but he did know Kai was only helping by going and getting the food as well as having his own. He still didn't like the idea of being alone.

Kai fed Yuu until he had finished, even protesting against letting Yuu feed himself again. Kai had won that battle. He set the bowl back on the tray and placed it on the chair he had just been sitting in before. Kai sat on the bed and watched as Yuu leaned back against the pillows, sated after eating. Kai could start to feel his own stomach growling from not eating. But he'd deal with it. It was hard for Kai to suddenly except this place, the food as well. Kai had trained his body to handle situations like this. He'd be able to go without sleep or food for a good while before it took over him. "How are you feeling now Yuu?"

"Weak...." it was the only thing he could managed to think of for a word. Yuu wasn't even tired but just weak as he was still drugged. As much as stress was an issue for him, Yuu hated feeling like this. He couldn't even talk to Kai properly because of how he was feeling. Stikl, it wouldn't be too bad if Kai did all of the talking and maybe told Yuu some stories or something.... anything. "You should sleep." As much as Yuu wanted certain things or wanted to do certain things, he couldn't do anything and the least that could happen was Yuu could stay awake while Kai slept. He really was going to push himself too far if he didn't relax.

"Don't worry, you'll start to feel better soon." Kai placed a hand on his leg gently. He didn't rub it or anything. He spjust kept it on his leg. Kai wanted to make Yuu feel better. But there was nothing he could right fully do for him, besides not leaving him. When Yuu told him to sleep, Kai shook his head, smiling at the teen. "I'll be alright. Don't worry about me." He hoemstlt was glad Yuu was worried. But Kai was the type of person to forget about his own health when it came to protecting what he cared for. In fact that was always something he forgot about when he was younger, while trying to get revenge for his family.
