Kai stood in the doorway seething with anger. He ignored the admiral an immediately started talking to Yuu. "I can't let that happen Yuu! I- Dammit I watched as he tortured you before. I stayed quiet about him hurting you just now. Yuu why can't you find your memories without hurting yourself!! I can't stay quiet any more." He fell quiet for a moment, clenching the hand that wasn't broken. "If you lose that eye I won't hesitate to donate my eye! There's got be other ways!" He glared t the admiral, forcing his anger at him now. "Your a fucking military base! Don't you have machines that can harmlessly tap into brain waves!?" He fell to his knees, losing strength to hold himself up. He lost his family when he was young, now he was going to lose Yuu. The only person he felt could make him feel alive. "I can't let you get hurt anymore, Yuu." His voice was shaking and quiet. He looked up at Yuu. "I can't watch you get hurt anymore."

Yuu watched as Kai's legs gave out and saw just how desperate he was to keep the teen safe. It hurt so much to be letting him down and Yuu quickly said that he was done and there had to be another way to get his brain loose enough to find the information. "We have machines that torture and wipe someone's memory but nothing that will help him remember," the admiral declared. Just then Yuu realized something.

"What about alcohol? I don't remember anything when I'm drunk because I'm not thinking straight or at all... I don't know what kind of information you can get out of me but who knows... I might remember more when I'm drunk... Do I?" he asked Kai who was the only person to ever see him drunk.

"When did you get your hands on alcohol? You're not even old enough. You have to be 20 to be able to drink and you are only about 18," the medic piped in angrily and Yuu quickly looked away from him wishing he wasn't around when it was mentioned. The medic was a stickler about this kind of thing.

Kai kept to his small area on the floor. He never once looked up, not even when Yuu decided he was done with hurting himself. His hand was in some serious pain, but it was quickly ignored when he thought about the pain in his chest. Then Yuu suddenly started talking about alcohol. Kai looked up just in time to see Yuu looking at him in excitement. Kai nodded, "Yuu normally starts talking about random things he learns in here. In fact, now that I think about it. The guy who came in before who was loud and annoying was someone Yuu spoke about once before." He looked at the admiral, "Even though at that time he knew absolutely nothing about anything." He fell silent when the medic started rambling on about drinking alcohol at such a young age. He spoke up, looking up at the medic. "That's my fault, I let him have it."

"The two of you need a constant baby sitter. You're both far too irresponsible!!" The medic was very angry at the both of them but he also finished bandaging Yuu and walked over to Kai and dealt with his broken hand. "I've known children with more common sense then you two." The more he spoke, the more gentle and father like the medic sounded. "Now, I'm going to call my wife and have her bring up some more oatmeal. The two of you will sit down and eat it or so help me I will chain both of you to separate beds on different ends of the room." He then stood up, lifting Kai to at least sit in the chair before he turned to the admiral. "You, go get the oatmeal for them." At first it looked like the admiral was going to protest but he didn't and left the room putting his knife away. "Now, neither of you worry about being poisoned," He was really looking at Kai when saying this. " There is no way the admiral is going to risk dealing with my wife's wrath if he should try anything with that food." Yuu nodded in agreement to what the medic was saying. No one wanted to deal with his wife's wrath.

Kai looked away when the medic lectured them. He winced when the medic stated his own issues with not eating. Kai looked up when the shadow of the medic came over and helped him into a chair. He grimaced when his hand was touched. He watched the admiral leave the room. Kai fell silent before sighing and smiling to himself, his eyes closed in thought. His memories of his parents forced their way into his mind. Kai was old enough to live alone, to do as he pleased. He spoke quietly, where only the medic and Yuu could hear them. "You remind me of my own parents." Again he fell silent, letting the medic go about wrapping his hand in a cast.

Yuu was surprised by the statement since this was the first time Kai had even mentioned anything about his family or his past. He couldn't help but give a weak smile feeling kind of sad that this would bring up the memories. He and Kai were so different and yet so similar and it was getting more and more clear. The room was silent for a long time before the admiral returned with the oatmeal trays in hand. He placed one with Yuu and the other with Kai and then simply turned and left. He had his own work to do and wasn't about to deal with Kai's glares or accusations and he certainly wasn't about to deal with the medic's wrath. Yuu realized he was still cuffed and waited until Kai was finished and then the medic walked away without uncuffing the teen. He had a nurse come over and feed Yuu since he now had a new injury on what was his good arm and now both arms were useless. "Kai was it," the medic began. "If you use your injured hand at all, not that you can with the hard cast, but if you do I will chain you to a bed and send a nurse over to feed you.

Kai looked down at his hand once the medic finished casting his hand. That was when the admiral came back in, setting a tray with Yuu and then passing him his own tray. Kai glared at the man as he grabbed his tray, but let his words remain in his head. Kai looked down at the food. Yuu had nothing against the food and ate it without hesitation. He grabbed the spoon with his dominant hand, glad it wasn't that hand he broke. He took a bite of the oatmeal and his stomach growled in anger from not eating. Kai stopped his second bite when the medic spoke out to him. Kai smiled, letting a small puffed out laugh. "Don't worry. I doubt I'd be bale to use it for anything anyway."

"Good, now eat up." The medic lurked around for a bit before going and doing all the reports he neglected to do. Yuu hated being fed by the nurse and kind of prefered to have Kai doing it. Still, he stayed quiet and ate until there was nothing left. Finally, the two were left alone as the nurse took the empty trays and bowls back to the food court. "We'll have to try alcohol later." Yuu whispered so they wouldn't be heard.

Kai finished his food, he to admit,it was he most delicious food he'd had in a long time. In fact, it really reminded him of the food his mother used to make for him. Kai moved the chair closer to Yuu's bed. When he sat back on the bed he heard Yuu's whisper and chuckled. It was the first sort of laugh he had since being in this building. Then he fell silent and looked at Yuu. "To think after all of the wounds you received all we had to do was get you drunk again." He rubbed at his head with his good hand. His wrist was almost healed, at least he thought it would be.

"Well, I don't remember how I was drunk so of course that wouldn't be the first thing I thought of. Though at least we know now so I don't have to lose my eye or anything else." Yuu was feeling better about not having to hurt himself anymore and was realizing now just how much pain he really caused himself. It was no easy task to take a knife to the gut even if none of his internal organs were hit. He even lost the ability to use his left arm because of it. What was strange was the admiral never hit or stabbed Yuu where his tattoo was. It covered a lot of space on his left arm and side of his back but the knife was never even aimed at one of those areas.

Kai leaned forwArd and pat Yuu's head. "I'm glad you decided to stop the admiral. I don't know what I would have done to him if he'd stabbed your eye." He looked Yuu straight in the eyes. He really was glad Yuu had stopped hurting himself. His mind couldn't handle watching him hurt himself. It was bad enough he broke down like he did in front of everyone. Much like he had done in front of all the cops when they found his family lying dead. His body sent a shiver down his spine, he didn't want to be seen breaking down like that again. He was supposed to be strong in front of Yuu. He was supposed to protect him. Instead he was becoming nothing but a child, regressing back to how he felt when he lost everything in one day.

"Well thank you for giving me the reality check I needed. I was being stupid and going for the only thing I knew that worked. If I knew about what I was like drunk then I would have suggested it a lot sooner. I'm sorry for being so stupid. Also, thanks for being around I really do appreciate it." Yuu smiled gently at Kai wishing he could reach up and hug him but that clearly wasn't about to happen any time soon. "By the way... am I really that horny when I'm drunk because that might look weird..." He was a bit nervous by the thought of it since he would have to be drunk in front of everyone.

"Well, its not like I told you what you were like." He looked away from Yuu for a moment. "In fact, the last time you drank, it was because you didn't want to remember what happened when you were drunk." Kai sat back on the bed like he'd done before. He ran his fingers across Yuu's cheek. "I promised I wouldn't leave you. Sure I couldn't stand what I was watching, but there was no way I was going to leave you like that." Kai fell silent for a moment before Yuu suddenly asked about him being drunk. Instantly Kai laughed out, if any one was sleeping, he'd probably just woken them all up. He calmed down, letting his hand fall to Yuu's leg. "Yeah, sorry, you do get seriously horny."

He looked down sadly hoping he wouldn't just start having everyone sleep with him just because he was drunk. "Please, I know it's a lot to ask but please keep me in check so I don't trying anything stupid like hitting on anyone other than you." Yuu wasn't sure what was going to happen and Kai was the only one that he could trust to control him. What if Yuu started to come onto another man... what if it was another military man?... then again if he did come on anyone here it would have to be someone from the military. The stress was killing him and it was pretty clear how Yuu was glancing back and forth wishing he wasn't so nervous but he was just so clueless it hurt.

Kai sat back on the bed, hugging Yuu very briefly before backing away again. "Don't worry. I won't let you get to anyone other then me. And I won't let anyone touch you either. He pat Yuu's head. He enjoyed touching the younger male, the way Yuu remained still and allowed him to do so made Kai think he was somewhat special to Yuu, that the younger male needed him in some way. He just wished Yuu was able to touch him back. He liked the touches the other gave him. Kai had gone years without someone to feel warmth from. Once Yuu came along, he quickly realized that he didn't want to live without the touch of another human being. Besides it being a hand touching his while passing his payment from a job.

Yuu loved when Kai touched him and assured that everything was going to be alright. The teen smiled and moved to try and hug Kai but his hands couldn't go that far so he instead just leaned his head into Kai's hands as they touched his face and hair. Yuu loved Kai and even though he was more sure of it when drunk, the teen at least knew that he loved this and he loved being around and being touched by the older male. To him, this was like a drug he could never get rid of and would always be addicted to. "I'm sorry I can't do anything... if I'd ever regretted hurting myself it would be now," he spoke so softly so no one would hear him except Kai and that was if Kai was really listening well.

Kai had his eyes closed, still touching Yuu, so he never realized when Yuu tried to reach up and hug him. Instead he felt Yuu lean his head into Kai's touch. Kai smiled, he really was glad Yuu enjoyed his touches. He didn't know what he'd do if Kai was the only one. When Yuu spoke up, Kai almost couldn't hear what he said. But smiled a little more after hearing the words. "You'll get to move around soon. And when you do I expect a hug." Kai opened his eyes and looked around the room to see if anyone was looking. When he saw no eyes looking their way, he tilted his head down and placed a kiss on Yuu's head.

Hearing Kai's reply make Yuu really happy and he gave a gentle smile at the other when he looked towards the teen. Yuu watched curiously as Kai glanced around before moving in and giving him a quick kiss. He was so happy by it that it was sad how quickly it had ended but it wasn't like they could risk being seen and Yuu knew that. "Kai, Do you remember that number that is on your laptop?" He was trying to ask about that computer pass code he remembered but wasn't sure what the numbers were. He had to make sure Kai didn't know the numbers off the top of his head or the government might just wipe his memory as well.

Kai held Yuu tight against him, not wanting to separate from him just yet. Knowing that he could hold him like this made it easier to think he wasn't some prisoner in a military base. They had fallen silent for a moment before Yuu spoke up again. Kai thought a moment. "Passcode?" He looked up at the ceiling as he thought about it. "I remember some of the numbers....I think. Why?" He looked back at Yuu as he tried to figure out why he was thinking about the passcode. The code he'd found while looking on his laptop. "Speaking of the laptop....You don't think they sent someone to the motel to collect our things do you?" He looked at his wrist, when he ran out of the apartment, Kai left without his watch. That watch held as much information on it as the laptop. If someone wanted to get him for something, they'd find it on that watch.

"They probably did but depending on who was sent would tell if they would try to get into the laptop or anything. I do know that most people here can't hack a laptop and even more don't want to unless there is something in it for them. Anyway, I don't want you to remember that pass code. In fact, when your laptop does get here please let me delete it off so you never even accidentally remember the numbers. That is one of the key things I learned from the government and if they find out you know the number then your memory will be wiped as well... or you will be killed... I'm not really sure which they will choose so I guess that also depends on the person." As they were talking someone had been sent to go collect everything since the two would be stuck in the military base for a while but luckily, the person they were sending was the general who loved to show off his tattoo. He was strong and good at military strategy but he couldn't hack a breakable safe let alone a computer or watch. He didn't even care either.

Kai listened to Yuu without interrupting. He hoped that if they were sending someone to grab their things, that they would't know how to hack into anything. When Yuu told him it would be better not to remember the passcode, Kai looked down at him. "They really show no mercy, huh?" Kai gently ran his fingers through Yuus hair. "Don't worry, even if I manage to remember the passcode, they won't know it. But to make you feel better, I'll let you delete it." He smiled at Yuu. Kai was normally pretty good at remembering numbers, even if it was a brief and quick look. This time however, he didn't see the passcode, but while Yuu had been looking at his laptop, Kai had very silently heard Yuu say the numbers out loud. Of course, that meant he could only make out a few numbers and not the whole thing.

"Thank you... but you're right... They don't really show any mercy... The military works right under the government and in this world..... No, I'm sorry that information shouldn't be shared... I'm sorry." He kept apologizing because he wanted to be able to tell Kai everything and anything but he couldn't... There were so many things that needed to be kept quiet... This was why the military hated people having lives outside of the military in case someone wanted to tell a person they thought they could trust all these secretes and yet someone would turn around and stab them in the back. It was all so messed up. Though they didn't hold much trust in those outside of the military, it was easy to be able to trust those in it... or at least it was for Yuu but that might have been because he didn't know any differently.

Kai's smile never stopped. "Yuu it's alright. You don't have to keep apologizing." Kai made sure to let his fingers continue running through Yuu's hair. He felt that somehow, it helped Yuu calm down. Although, it might have been the opposite. "I know what's it's like hiding something from someone." He looked down a little sad about his own words. Then he looked up, looking Yuu straight in the eyes. "Yuu, I've been hiding my life from you as well. And I know it's nothing compared to what you've had to keep silent about, but....I don't want to keep secrets from you anymore."

"Are you sure about that?" He would continue to push his head into Kai's hand loving that it was still there and not retreating. "Shouldn't we wait until I know I can remember? I don't want to get angry at you for not telling me when you really did just because I'm the one who's memory was wiped. Plus if it's that painful I'm not going to make you tell me twice." He took this topic very seriously and refused to have Kai hurt because of it. "It's your call..."

Kai loved that Yuu didn't want to hurt him as much he didn't want to hurt Yuu. He smiled and sighed looking at the younger male, then nodded. "I think I can handle it." He rubbed Yuu's head again, realizing he had stopped at some point. "Besides, I intend to try and make a new life when this hell is all over." He looked at the teen again, loving how his eyes looked straight at him. He hated to think of them looking away from him. Like they had before they were caught.

Kai took a breath and began telling Yuu who he was. "I'm a gun for hire Yuu. I've been one for nearly ten years." He closed his eyes. "My parents were murdered by a gang boss when I was ten. At the age of fifteen I had trained my body enough to fight and use a gun. At the age of eighteen I had joined the gang of the man I sought out my revenge against." He opened his eyes to look at Yuu. "Two years later I killed the man and his entire gang. The news reports called it a mass murder." He was shaking very slightly. It was the first time he'd told anyone this story. "Because I lived my life for killing that man, I had no idea what to do with my life. From that day, until today....I'd given myself to those who were willing to hire me. I killed for a living too. You aren't the only monster, Yuu."
