The woman was not as gentle as she could be but she was quick and Yuu came out a short time later. His hair was hard to wash but somehow they managed and Yuu was quickly returned to bed. He rested not even caring that he was stuck in bed now for some time. "Hopefully tomorrow won't be so rough..." completely exhausted, Yuu laid back and relaxed finally. He wasn't tired to sleep per say but he was in some serious pain.

As soon as Yuu returned to the medical room Kai sat up on his bed. He stayed there until the nurses finished helping him in his bed and got up to sit in the chair instead. Yuu spoke up after relaxing in the bed. "I would hope not. At this rate your wounds really will opene again" he reached forwards to dab one of Yuu's hands. He smiled gently as he traced his fingers and intertwined them together with his own. Kai truly missed being an.e to freely touch Yuu like he had in his apartment or in the hotels. He'd give anything to go back to his home. To bring Kai back with him

"You're right... I'm not going to make it until the end I don't think... Let's just hope if one of them does open, it is not my neck... I won't be able to last long if that opens again. The doctor said that it was lucky to have just missed some vitals but if it reopens and gets any wider, I will bleed out and die within minutes." Yuu finally admitted to Kai the severity of his injuries. The leg was in just a terrible painful and troubling place, the neck was deadly, the stomach was painful and in a place he strained often, and his arm/shoulder was in such a bad condition it may never heal right. Yuu hated telling Kai just how bad it was because of the way he worried but there really was no helping it.

Kai didn't know how bad Yuu's neck injury really was. His surprised look suddenly turned into a scowl just thinking about the injury he had received. Kai sighed, knowing no matter how angry he got, there was nothing he could even do about it. He just hoped, that like Yuu, the nek wound didn't open. Kai brought Yuu's hand to his forehead. He hated seeing him like this. Then he brought his hand down and continued rubbing it like he was before. "I just want you healed again. Walking on your own without it being painful." Kai sighed, the time Yuu got out of this place couldn't come fast enough.

"I know what you mean... I want the same thing," He gave a kind of grim smile and stared at their hands as Kai was rubbing his. The medic came over and told Yuu it was time for him to have his dinner and go to bed. He had to be up early again the next day and his body needed all the rest it could get. The medic had sent a nurse to go get the food for Yuu to be able to eat where he was. Yuu ate the best he could and placed the tray to the side. "I'm sorry to ask this, Kai, but would you mind staying here with me until I fall asleep?" He was a bit strange right now as Yuu took Kai's hand again before closing his eyes to sleep.

Kai rolled his eyes when the medic came, interrupting their moment once again. He forgave the man though when he had a nurse come and pass him a tray of food. Kai let go of Yuu's hand to let him eat. When he was done eating he watched as Yuu placed it to the side and rested against the bed. What Yuu asked of Kai next surprised the man. Yuu took his hand again as he fell asleep. "I won't leave you, Yuu. I'll stay as long as you need me." Kai was able to get his words in before Yuu actually fell asleep. He was glad he fell asleep so fast, he needed all the sleep he could get. Eventually Kai to fell asleep, still sitting in the chair. He was resting against Yuu's bed, still holding his hand.

No one bothered to wake them and let the two stay just as they were. Yuu slept pretty heavily until the medic quietly woke him up the next morning. The teen yawned and got out of bed and got dressed. He made sure not to wake Kai just yet because he had to have the trainees to warm ups first anyway. The young general had to do some stretching to get himself in a position to be able to make it as far as he had to go. Sadly, Yuu was still sore from the day before. He looked back at Kai just once more before he disappeared without a sound to go get the trainees ready. The medic woke Kai at an early hour as well telling him the newbies would be done with warm ups soon and that he should head down to help out with their training.

Kai never once woke during the time Yuu moved around. He remained in his seat, leaning over the bed like he had been when he fell asleep. The medic woke Kai up later that morning. Blinking his eyes open before he sat up, wincing from the soreness in his back from sleeping the way he did all night. Kai slowly stretched it out, yawning all the while. When he finished stretching he stood up, heading for the training area. While walking he remembered last night he forgot to eat dinner. And even this morning he chose to not eat breakfast. He had to make sure Yuu didn't find out until lunch, when he would eat more then usual. When Kai entered the training area he let out another good yawn and one final stretch. He had to make sure he was able to keep up with the younger trainees.

Due to Kai having skipped breakfast, Yuu and the trainees were out back still working on their warm ups. Typically the general would run the exercises with the group but Yuu managed to get out of that one without anyone batting an eye. Once they were one with their running and everything, the group moved back into the building to find Kai waiting. Yuu gave him a nod but there was pain in his eyes. The teen had already reached his limit. Everyone broke into the two groups again and Yuu had everyone gather and continue what they learned yesterday. There were more dummies now for all of them to practice at once and every now and then, Yuu would shout to teach them to always stay focused and vigilant. The Shouting pushed him too far. On the third yell, the teen bent over in pain and grabbed his stomach with his good arm. When the trainees stopped to watch, Yuu told them to focus and keep working. It took a bit for him to bleed through but finally, blood was showing on his uniform having gotten through the bandages and then to his undershirt and now his military jacket. He was panting but kept up the training .

Kai decided he'd do some running around the area while he waited for everyone. By the time they returned he had ran around the large room about 6 times. Instantly the trainees broke up into the two groups. Kai's group went to the back room, grabbing their guns again. Some switching out their choice of gun. When they returned Kai was already determining what their next steps would be. "All right, moving target practice. No shooting, for now." He explained what he meant, and when he finished they broke up once again. This time they took turns focusing on a target, spinning in a circle and focusing on the same target. Kai would time each one to see how long it took them to regain focus. By the time he got to the last of his groups, Yuu was having trouble on his end. Kai hadn't noticed anything until he looked over for a moment. He found Yuu doubled over, holding his stomach. A pain shot through Kai's chest as he ran towards Yuu. Kai hung on to yuu, trying to help him just the tiniest bit. "Dammit Yuu, I told you this wouldn't last."

"Please, Let go," He begged. "I have to get though this training." He gently pushed Kai the the side and continued with what he was doing. A lot of the trainees were now distracted wondering if it was really that bad that Yuu needed help. "Come on, you guys need to focus!!" He yelled, pain tearing into his body and begging for him to stop. The teen was going to push himself over the edge for these kids and there was nothing anyone could do to stop him now. "Come on everyone, we still have several hours before lunch so lets really push it to see if you guys earn the right to spar and try your hands in combat." The trainees saw Yuu pushing through his injury, the strength he displayed and they mirrored it focusing and working harder.

Kai was pushed away, clearly not being needed. He watched as Yuu moved away, determined to finish the training. He knew Yuu was a stubborn workaholic. But he couldn't watch it anymore. If Yuu no longer wanted his help, then he wouldn't give it. If he wanted to hurt himself, then he'd let him. Kai wouldn't interfere anymore. He looked down at the ground as Yuu yelled to the trainees. "I guess my feelings are worth nothing compared to this." Kai whispered to himself, he wasn't expecting anyone to hear him. He turned back to his own group of trainees, but he had no will to actually train them. He gave out advice where needed. But most of the time they were on their own, training themselves. Heck, that's how Kai trained anyway, so why couldn't they.

Yuu's voice got weaker with each statement. His exhaustion was clear and he was getting dizzy... Really dizzy. He missed a yell and the trainees stopped and stared as Yuu completely lost his vision, blood dripping from his wound. The leg had also opened up despite efforts to keep pressure off and was starting to bleed through too. One of the girls from the trio was in Kai's group with a sniper in her hands. It was a perfect fit for her as she grabbed Kai and pointed to Yuu. "He's going down!" She announced rather loudly. Of course, in the next instant, He fell. Yuu couldn't hold himself and collapsed hitting the ground hard, landing right on the arm in a sling. Everyone backed off and freaked out. No one knew what to do and they were searching for instruction.

Kai heard when Yuu had stopped yelling, he tried to ignore it. If he ran to him again, he just figured he'd be pushed away again. And he hated to think about it. But when one of the trio members ran up to him, pulling him and pointing at Yuu, his heart nearly dropped to the pit of his stomach. He booked it to Yuu's side immediately, hating himself for ignoring Yuu's wounds. He landed hard on his knees by Yuu's side. "Yuu!? Yuu!?" When Yuu didn't answer he looked up, noticing the trainees forming a circle and backing away while freaking out. He growled as he lifted Yuu into his arms, careful not to cause any more strain to his wounds. Unfortunately Yuu's weight made his wrists and hand scream in agony. The medic was right, they weren't ready to handle stress anymore then Yuu's wounds were. He turned towards the door, starting to leave. Then he turned back to the trainees. "Get some laps around the room. When I come back we'll finish the training." Kai left, an unconscious Yuu in his hands. Kai hurried as quickly as he could to the medical room without causing stress to Yuu. All he could think about was getting Yuu there, so his mind wasn't exactly racing with any other thoughts. He made it to the medical and instantly shouted out for the medic as he laid Yuu as gently as he could in his bed. "D-Doc. Quick." Those were the only words Kai was able to speak before moving away from the bed to let the medic and his staff in.

"I knew he wasn't ready," the medic growled as he got Yuu onto a stretcher to get him into surgery. The teen needed more stitches since a few of them popped but the first thing he checked was Yuu's neck. Luckily nothing had happened to it so the medic just had to focus on the leg and stomach. They hurried off to the operating room and got right to work on the injuries. After almost an hour, they finally came back out with the unconscious teen. They placed him back on the bed and cuffed his good wrist to the bed just in case. "Thank you for getting him here so quickly but next time carry him on your back. It will cause less strain for the both of you." He sighed. "Yuushio will be fine. I'm going to talk to the admiral and see if he can use any other general to train the newbies. Yuushio needs some serious rest and if that means I have to keep him under like this then that is what I will do." The medic wanted Yuu to get better as quickly as possible.

Kai watched as the medic and staff got Yuu on a stretcher. He couldn't say anything, not like he would have been answered. Kai clenched his free hand tight, so tight that he dug his nails into his palm's skin and pierced it, causing a very slight bleeding. When they left with Yuu, Kai returned the the bloodied bed. He crumbled up the blood stain sheets in his fists and stared at it. For an hour he remained in this one position. He didn't move to sit down, he didn't move to look around the room. He did nothing but stare at the blood on Yuu's sheets. He knew he had to get back to the trainees, he promised Yuu he'd help with them. But he couldn't think of leaving the medical room until he knew Yuu was going to be okay.

When they finally returned, Kai removed the bloodied sheets quickly. He would help give him new ones later. He watched as they cuffed him to the bed again like before. Dammit, Yuu... He thought to himself as he was laid down. The medic then came up to him, thanking him for bringing him to the room. But still lecturing him for the way he carried him. Kai looked down. "I wasn't exactly thinking about how to relieve the stress on my own wounds, you know." Kai let out a sigh of relief when the medic claimed Yuu was going to be okay. He didn't know what he'd do if he wasn't. When the medic mentioned talking to the admiral about training the trainees he nodded. He didn't say anything as the man left. Kai took one last look at Yuu as he laid the bloodied sheets on the chair Kai sat in. He then left to go back to the training room. Even if they didn't want him training them, he needed to concentrate on something else.

The trainees had been completely lost without a strong leader. After Kai had left, none of them did anything else until one of the girls stepped up and started taking control. She was another of the trio, a girl who had chosen a rapier for her weapon. The boy of the three was near here carrying his broad sword. In the back of the group, watching them from a distance was the third, the one with the sniper. The one in front lead the group to do the running Kai had told them to do just before he vanished with their teacher.

When Kai returned, the trainees were running laps and came to a stop in attention when he returned. The trainees had a hell of a lot more respect for Kai now and the new leader said, "Attention," They all moved and even saluted to Kai. She nodded to him to take control again so she could step down and go back to training.

When Kai returned he found the trainees running. He was actually surprised they were doing so. When they spotted him they all came running towards him and saluted. This caused Kai to twitch just a little bit. He could tell they waited for someone to return to instruct them, he was glad he didn't leave them running in circles all day. He sighed and stood straight, this was where he'd get his mind off of what happened to Yuu. "All right, let's break back into our groups again. I'm not perfect in close range weapons, but with what I know hopefully it can help." He hoped his little defense training in hand to hand combat would come in handy in training them.

The groups broke up and Yuu stayed behind as he watched them self train for a little while. When he spotted someone who needed assistance he would help them. The first one was one of his own group members. After several different ways in trying to hold the machine gun the trainee chose, they determined a more smaller gun would work. They found that an automatic rifle and pistol were the two best weapons for him. Then he moved on to the short range group. He found one who couldn't get her footing right when it came to avoiding a swing. After a few minutes of helping her, she became one ofof the quickest reflexes in the group.

The trainees gave Kai the respect he deserve and helped each other where they could to make it easier for him. They all worked hard until it was time for lunch. The trainees thanked Kai before they headed off to go get some food. The Medic had talked to the admiral but he was pretty pissed that the admiral didn't really listen to what he was saying this time. The medic was storming around the medical wing trying to help where he could but he was steaming with the way his conversation with the admiral had gone.

When Kai showed to come check on Yuu and inquire about the conversation, the doctor sighed and tried to explain. "The admiral wants Yuushio back on his feet and training those kids tomorrow morning. He is willing to let him rest for today but that's it. There is no one else they can spare."

They ended for lunch. And as Kai waited for the trainees all to leave, he received a thanks from each one of them. Kai decided he'd take this time to check on Yuu. When he returned to the medical room he could tell just how pissed off the medic was. He cautiously walked up to him. "How's it go?" It wasn't the best question to ask. The medic went off on him right away. He managed to calm himself down enough to tell Kai that the admiral wanted Yuu back up and training tomorrow. Kai scowled and looked at Yuu sleepy on the bed. He shook his head. "That's not going to happen. Not with his wounds like that. I won't let him." He stared at the medic and claimed, "I'll knock Yuu out myself if I have to in order to stop him." He looked back at Yuu. "Besides, I'm already training them." He looked back at the medic. "They seem to accept me enough to let me train them. So I'll do it. Let the admiral come to me if he has a problem with it."

"That's the thing, he can't go to you. If he could he would have hurt you when you were first locked up in here. The problem is that you're a civilian and he can't hurt you so any anger towards you he harbors will be taken out on Yuushio...." He paused for a minute and looked at Kai sides, skeptical. "The trainees really trust you that much? These kids are known to chew strangers alive and wish themselves dead." The medic was highly impressed by Kai but then glanced at Yuu wondering if part of it was Yuu's trust in Kai as well as Kai's strength around and towards helping the general. Yuu was always known to be a lone wolf.

"Look, I'll do something to make it look like Yuushio is out there training but you need to keep those kids on their training like nothing's wrong. I know you don't know what they typically do but if you get them outside doing their exercises and then quietly inside training, We might be able to pull it off. Yuu will have to make an appearance at the morning exercises but then I will get him in a bed in a separate room so the admiral won't find him. If we fail...You'll probably be sent far away and Yuushio will be tortured until he gives the information the admiral wants and then they'll execute him."

He didn't get it. If the admiral had raised Yuu and taken him under his wing, then why would he torture him and hurt him so much? The military he knew growing up was there to help the weak. They portrayed men and women like brothers and sisters in arms. If Yuu was like a son to the admiral, he wouldn't be causing so much harm to him. A simple lecture or a more busier schedule seemed to be a good punishment. He hated thinking that the military allowed such actions against one of there own. He scowled at the thought of the men continuing to harm Yuu. Kai nodded at the mention of the trainees and shrugged. "I don't know what it is. But they listen to me, even despite being a crude and bratty outsider."

He was going to start heading back to the training room when the medic continued to talk. He mentioned talking to the man again and how he came up with a small plan. Kai nodded, hoping that the plan wouldn't fail. For Yuu's sake. He could care less about what happened to himself. He turned around then and stopped at the door. "I'd like to see him try. I can be pretty cruel and violent in it comes to getting what I want." He waved and left the room. But then something struck at him. He never met his Grandfather, having died before Kai was born. But he remembers stories of him being a military man and hghly respected. He turned back to the medical room popping his head in. "Hey, do...Does the name Tobio Futami ring a bell to you?"

The medic was able to calm down after hearing all that and to be able to get a lot of things off his chest. When Kai stopped and poked his head back in inquiring about a man, it was clear the doctor knew exactly who Kai was talking about. "I know him, very well in fact. The man was a hero around here. He never had to be hard on anyone to gain their respect, he just held himself to a high standard. Admiral Futami was one of the greatest admirals I've ever known. I was a trainee when he was still around. He'd come in and see to our training himself a lot of times. He treated everyone like they were his brothers, and sisters, even his children where I was concerned." The medic suddenly started laughing feeling so much lighter as he thought of a story. "When Admiral Eugene was a general, Admiral Futami would mess with him and have him do all kinds of odd things generals didn't typically do. Eugene looked up to him like he was a father. It's too bad he died... Even saved Eugene's life before he went." He looked sideways at Kai again. "How do you know the name? He died before you were born."

After the medic went off in story about his Grandfather, Kai returned to the room. He leaned on the door frame and listened. He didn't realize his Grandfather was so well respected in the minds of the military. Heck, he had no idea he was a war hero. Better yet, his story ended saving the man who was admiral now. Kai grinned at the thought. Not only did he know more about his Grandfather, the man he always yearned to learn about. But he now had some pretty nice dirt on the admiral. If he did ever need it, then he would sure as hell use it. When the medic turned to look at Kai, he asked how he even knew of the man's name. Kai, with a straight face, stood of the door frame, crossed his arms and looked the medic dead in the face. "Because...He's my Grandfather. "

The medic's jaw dropped. He couldn't believe what Kai was saying. "So, you really are Admiral Futami's grandson? I can't believe it! You must have his natural charisma." The medic was highly impressed by Kai showing him a little more respect even now but he did look at him and tell him to go eat so he could be ready for those trainees. Kai needed the strength now that he was alone to train the group. The medic still held a high rank.

The trainees were all grouped together when eating and were sharing different fight tactics and so on. They were really into their training and were happy to be able to start specialized weapon's training at such a young age. No one else, other then Yuu himself had been trained in such a way but Yuu was also the youngest to join the military and youngest to ever gain the rank of general. Even now he was still the youngest of the generals.
