Kai stopped packing again and looked at Yuu. This time wihtout saying anything. When was the last time he had someone sending him off and greeting him home? He never had a girlfriend, never a boyfriend. So...since he had his family. He closed his eyes and zipped up the bag. He came to stand beside Yuu and ruffled his hair. "Get some sleep while I'm gone okay?" Then he dug through a drawer in his desk and pulled out an old flip phone. Flip phones had been outdated for over ten years now, but he kept one for special use just in case.

"Listen, this phone connects to my watch. Just call this number here," He showed Yuu how to get to the contact menu and then scrolled down to the number that connected to his watch. "and it will connect you to my watch. If there's something you need or something you've remembered call me, okay?" He took Yuu's hand gently and placed the phone in his hand. Then strode out of the room, down the hallway and stopped at the front door. He grabbed the keys to his bike and opened the door behind him. "Lock it. This device clicks and locks the door." He pointed at the lock. Then stared at Yuu and waited for hi to respond.

Yuu took the phone and looked it over a couple times before following Kai to the front door. Something about this sittuation felt so foreign. The touch to his head was still lingering and it made him feel almost sad for some reason. "Don't worry, I got it." Unconsciously, he said, "come back soon." Saying that felt so weird but also kind of nice. "Don't worry, I won't try to make any more sandwiches." It was a sad attempt at a joke but he didn't even smile at it himself. When Kai finally left, Yuu locked the door and headed of to bed.

Kai left feeling somewhat forlorn. He didn't really want to leave Yuu alone in his apartment. Mainly for the safety of his own home. He let the thoughts slide off however, thinking instead of his new target. It would only take him 30 minutes to find his target. Another 20 to follow him to the hotel he was staying at and another 10 before he would confirm that his deed was done. From there he'd go straight into his next target. Kai wasn't glad to be doing this job, but it was the only thing he could do with his background. He sighed before mounting his bike and fiddling with his watch.

When he left the apartment it had been about 10 o'clock. Now as he stumbles into his home, throwing down his bag and jacket and plopping on the couch, it was well past midnight. 2 in the morning to be specific. Another couple of hours and he'd be awake again. The job definitely kept him on his toes. But he hoped for more sleep then he managed to get. And now with Yuu here, he'd ratyher not sleep in. Especially since he had to go to the store first thing in the morning. It wasn't long before he managed to fall asleep, fully clothed and hanging half of his limbs off the couch.

Yuu woke when he heard the door open and walked to the door and looked out. He saw the older male collapse to the couch and fall asleep. Concerned, the teen grabbed a blanket off the bed and silently walked out and placed it over Kai. He now felt like he was really being a burden but couldn't do anything about it. The lost kid turned and returned to the other room to get a little more sleep. He laid down and fell back to sleep a short while later waking again to more noise from another room.

He got up and walked out of the room to find Kai. "Good morning." It was all he managed. He watched the other closely wondering what would happen next. Not wanting to be a bother, Yuu stayed quiet and off to the side.

Kai had woke about four hours later, around 6 in the morning. He ran to the nearest corner store and bought some things he could make for all three meals of the day. At least enough for the next 2 or three days. Depending on how much either of them ate. He was in the process of making breakfast when Yuu came lazily into the kitchen. With a small "good morning" from Yuu, Kai turned with a pan of bacon in hand. "Yo!" He chimed back at him. "Hungry?" With a wide smile, too wide for his on liking, Kai returned to the stove top where he had an arrangement of pancakes, sausage and bacon cooking. Eggs were in the microwave. He called over his shoulder to Yuu, "How'd you sleep? Oh and uh, thanks...for the blanket. Did I end up waking you?" He glanced behind him at Yuu, who was still awkwardly standing out of the way. He nodded his chin at the stool near the island for him to sit.

He nodded to being hungry and sat in the stool as Kai nodded to it. "You're welcome. The door is a bit loud but I'm fine, I fell right back to sleep. I still haven't been able to remember anything...." He watched the cooking a bit interested in what was happening. Kai seemed to be very skilled at what he was doing.

"You came back pretty late. Aren't you tired?" Yuu was trying to make small talk even though Kai didn't seem like the type to really like small talk. At least it gave them something to do.

He flipped a pancake into the air with the spatula he held in his right hand. with his left hand he was checking on the sausage by stabbing them with a fork and turning them around. Seeing how those seemed done he finished with the pancakes and put the sausage in a plate. Placing them on the island he managed to catch Yuu's answers to his questions. It was very unlike Kai to idle in caring for someone. Better yet, someone who he didn't even know. But he could definitely see his younger sibling in him, and that's what made Kai seem so caring towards Yuu. He turned back to the bacon when Yuu asked him about being tired. "Ah, I am a bit. But my job keeps me up almost all hours of the day and night. Unfortunately its what keeps food on the table."

He put the bacon on a plate and set them on the island. Next was finishing up the pancakes and then dealing with the eggs. He glanced back at Yuu. "So no such luck in remembering anything else since, huh?" He set the pancakes and eggs on the island and took a seat at the stool opposite of Yuu. "Don't worry too much over it. It will come back to you with time."

"R-right," he said unsure about himself. The teen waited for Kai to sit down before he started to dig in. The male had a little bit of everything before claiming that he was full. He clearly wasn't a very big eater so feeding him would be pretty easy. "Mind if I go outside for a litter while? I want to try my hand with that sword. I don't know if it will help but it's all I have right now." He looked down sadly. He stood there waiting for an answer.

Kai watched Yuu eat, compared to his large helping of food, Yuu ate very little. To Kai it felt like he didn't eat enough. He wanted him to eat more, but forcing someone was never a good thing. Instead he let him finish and just as Kai was finishing up his second helping Yuu asked to go outside. "I'm not stopping you from doing anything. Unless I have reason too. Try to stay near the apartment though. This area isn't exactly the best to be swinging around a sword." He finished his sentence while placing the dirty plates they used into the sink.

He went about storing the rest of the food into the fridge for later use. Luckily he made enough to last a whole other breakfast. "Ah, how about I find another change of clothes for you? I might have something. Or we can go buy you some clothes." He called from inside the fridge. Yes, inside the fridge, where he was trying to make room for the food. He apparently bought too much beer for anything to fit in his ridiculously small fridge.

"Alright, I'll be just outside then." Yuu returned to the bedroom where he grabbed his sword and headed for the front door actually knowing which door it was this time. He stopped nearby hearing Kai calling out to him again. "Alright, though you shouldn't be wasting your energy on me." Yuu had already thrown on another shirt to head out but wondered if he should get another change of clothes. Did he even have any money? If he did wouldn't it be better to go and buy the clothes himself so he wouldn't have to burden his savior any more.

"Mind if I ask why you helped me?" It was a question he hadn't even thought about until now but it was an important question none the less. Why would anyone want to just save a stranger. For all Kai knew he could have come to kill the man or something like that. Well... as far as Yuu knew he could have been sent here to do that. It's not as if he remembered anyway.

Kai stopped what he was doing, which at this point was washing the dishes. He came over to Yuu who was standing by the front door. Bent over so that he was eye level with him, which wasn't much. And then scowled at him. "Listen, kid, this is where you take advantage of people's kindness and ignore what if scenarios." He stood straight again, patting Yuu's head and ruffling up his hair. "To be honest, I really have no idea. I thought it was because I didn't want some dead body at my front door. But, I don't think that's what prompted me to help you."

He waved Yuu away, walking back to the kitchen. "Don't worry about anything while your here. Food, clothes, games, drinks, heck, even porn! I'll get ya what you need." Kai looked up and winked at him, letting a boisterous laugh right after. Who the hell knew he had such a laugh in him. He for one didn't think he did. Kai went back to washing the dishes as Yuu left outside.

'Games? Porn?' He was going to ask what those things were but seeing Kai laugh made him drop the question and just nod. "Thank you," he quickly stated before leaving. The male walked out of the house and closed the door behind him. He hesitated at first but took a breath and headed out to an open area right nearby.

Yuu drew his blade carefully and began moving it around in his hand, getting a feel for its weight and everything. The kid took about 5 minutes before he started swinging and wielding the sword. He was a mess at first but a minute into it and he was moving like a pro. It was a good way to stretch and some things began coming to his head. Memories. They were in pieces and hardly made sense but they were his and once he couldn't remember anything else, Yuu put his sword away and headed over to the house again. He walked back in to try and tell Kai the good news.

"I remembered something. It's strange though, I was surrounded by people... they seemed happy and they were calling my name... Yuushio Heiba... I don't know why they were happy but most everyone was..."

By the time Yuu came back inside, Kai was once again sitting at his laptop. His small television was on reporting some new about a new bank being opened in some distant city. Either way, Kai had no interest in it at all. This time he was interested in what was on the laptop. He had managed to find the tattoo Yuu sported. But the only information he had gathered so far was the reference of 'general'. "General to what? What, no, who the hell is Yuu?" Yuu had walked in just as he asked himself that question. Suddenly he started telling him about a memory.

"Surrounded by people and all calling your name. Yuushio Heiba. To be honest I've never heard of the name before." He opened a new page on his laptop and typed in the name Yuu had just told him. He offered a seat beside him for Yuu to sit. If anyone would know something while looking for information, hopefully it would be Yuu

The male somehow missed the comment about who he was that Kai had said to himself. He looked over and saw the male soon motion towards the seat next to him. Yuu walked over and sat down wondering what the other was doing. He looked at it and saw his name written out. Unconsciously he had reached up and placed his fingers over his chest where a name tag would sit if he was wearing one.

"What is this going to do? Will this thing give you all my information?" He moved his and away and put it down. The male sat up straight as if in some kind of interview or whatever. He looked kind of proud but his young face and stature was really a huge throw off.

Kai waited for Yuu to come and take a seat. He watched him carefully as he looked upon the screen and raised his hand to his chest. A sign that unconsciously he was remembering something. But didn't know what. "If any information is provided about this name, then yeah, we might be able to find something." He looked from the screen to Yuu and sighed very slightly. "Yuu, its very possible we can find out what happened to you. But that also means we can find out about something you'd rather not share." Kai watched his expressions, to try and make out anything he could. "I need to have your word that you won't mind what we find, whether good or bad."

"I've got to know..." He looked like he was thinking but there really was only one answer to this question. "I give you my word. No matter what it is, I don't mind you finding out." There was most likely something bad about him in there just the way he wielded a sword was a good answer to that but he was determined and was fine. This guy saved his life and if this information makes him kick the teen out, then so be it. At least Kai had the right to know.

Yuu looked determined and then focused on the screen hoping something would come up from his search. At first there didn't seem to be anything but then, a news letter talked about a general of the military abandoning his post after learning information about the government. There was a bounty on Yuu's head for anyone that could capture the male. They seemed to be fine if he was found dead or alive. "I don't get it..." This wasn't helping him at all but it did have a strange vibe to it none the less. What could he have found out that the government was so desperate to get their hands on the kid.

Kai sat quietly as he scrolled though websites and opened up new tabs. Anything similar to to Yuu's name, sword or tattoo was enough to put him on a hunt through the site. After 2o minutes of searching and finding nothing at all, Kai thought the search had failed. Any further leads would be from outside sources not dealing with the internet. And Kai was sure to not like that course. But then Yuu's expression changed. Kai stopped on the page he was on and allowed Yuu to read. Something about a general and abandonment. Seemed serious, but Kai had no idea what it was tlaking about.

"Yuu, does any of what you just read ring a bell for you?" He looked at Yuu, trying to get something from his expression. "If what I'm getting from this article is true, then....Yuu, did you run away from your post? Are you a military genral?" He fell quiet and watched in earnest. He didn't want to cause Yuu to shut up. Now that he read this article, Kai was interested in it. What was it that Yuu found out? Was it what caused his memory to fail on him?

"I don't know... I don't really get it... If I am a general then why would they want me dead?... No, I didn't-" He suddenly fell silent trying to figure this whole thing out. What was going on with him? Did he really abandon his post or did something cause him to have to suddenly leave? None of this even explained how he'd lost his memory in the first place. He placed and hand to his forehead trying to remember but it felt like the closer he got to the truth the more his memory retreated and hid.

Finally, Yuu shook his head and moved away from Kai a bit. He couldn't remember and didn't want to keep looking. His bad feeling had only gotten worse and the teen seemed almost afraid to be here. If Kai did bring Yuu in then he'd be able to live a pretty comfortable life. The bounty was pretty high after all and did Kai really want to live the way he was for the rest of his life?

Kai suddenly felt Yuu's nervousness. He noticed how he inched away from him. Kai shut his laptop, thinking Yuu had seen enough for today. He looked over at Yuu who seemed all to afraid of being here. "Listen Yuu, I can promise you right now I won't harm you. Or turn you in. I know it's hard to trust some stranger who found you on his doorstep, but..." His eyes had closed have way through his speech and when he fell silent he opened them again. "Yuu, you can stay here if you feel comfortable and safe. I won't send you off anywhere."

Kai had really meant what he said. But not wanting to pressure him, Kai left his words at that and didn't press him. Suddenly his watch started ringing. Someone was trying to connect to him. He excused himself and headed into his bedroom where he answered the call. A call that he had secretly been hoping would never come. Or if it did, not this soon.

It certainly was hard to trust anyone but Kai had helped him thus far so trusting him was the best option. Yuu was still lost so running from the one person who ever tried to help him didn't really seem like the smart thing to due. While the older male took the call, Yuu calmed himself down and thought it over. He was going to stay, if this place proved to be dangerous then he'd run but right now it was the safest place in the world that he knew about.

Yuu waited on the couch for Kai to return. He figured the other would have another job tonight so it made everything a lot easier. The teen would be alone tonight so he could at least rest without keeping one eye open the whole time. When Kai came out of the bathroom, Yuu stood up and walked a bit closer to him. "Another job tonight? I'm nervous but I'm going to stay here, it's the safest place I know."

"Fuck you! Asshole!" Those were the final words heard from the conversation Kai had in the other room. Kai had come back from his call, a foul mood had set over him. That certainly wasn't the way he was hoping for it to go. But he knew sooner or later something like this had to happen. An old client of his had decided to catch up on good times by hiring him for one last job. Unfortunately that job, might have involved Yuu. Shit, he thought to himself.

He noticed Yuu walk up to him, standing closer then usual. As if he were trying to find comfort in his presence. He twitched when Yuu asked about the job. But ignored it when he continued to speak. Kai nodded. "It's nothing to worry about. Just an old friend that's all." He pat the top of Yuu's head. "That's the best situation for you right now. Going off anywhere on your own, not knowing what your getting into, will only cause you problems."

"That's why I won't go into it so blindly..." He heard the other raise his voice but not the words or the reason. Something felt off but Yuu was going to give Kai the benefit of the doubt and believe it was just some old friend bringing up something about a girlfriend or something. "Well I shouldn't stay here for free so if there is anything you want me to do, Let me know. As long as you don't say to let you turn me in then I'm up for anything else." That he truly meant. Yuu was very calm and honestly didn't care much of what the request was.

He gave a slight bow since he couldn't smile and then looked at the older male and waited for him to come up with some kind of request. Lots of people had something they wanted another to do for them so how was Kai any different. It wasn't like it mattered much anyway.

Kai let his shoulders in an attempt to laugh. But at this point there was no room for laughing. Not after what he just dealt with during a call. "Nah, there's nothing in particular I need you to do. Wait, I take that back. Tomorrow I need you to come with me. We're going to get you some proper clothes. Hanging around in my over sized ones won't do." He went over to the kitchen to grab a beer. It was still too early for one, but he needed it. He grabbed a second one and looked at it. Is Yuu even old enough to drink?

He looked back at Yuu. "Do you want a drink? I mean, its not like we know how old you are....right?" He held the drink out towards him. If Yuu didn't want it, then he'd just put it back. There's no way he'd pressure the kid into drinking a beer. Ezpecially the stuff he had. Out of all the beers still being brewed today, the stuff he got was the strongest.

"Alright, though I don't mind the size." He followed Kai to the kitchen so they could continue their conversation. He looked at the offered drink and the teen shrugged and took the beer. "Does it even matter anymore? Who cares what it does to me?" He raised the beer in a form of cheers and opened it up to start drinking it. He took a few large gulps and almost fell over. It was quite strong.

"Whoa...." He left it at that and continued drinking. Yuu finished it off and felt really weird now. He clearly couldn't hold his liquor. Yuu stood there for a minute before he dropped to butt on the ground and stared off into space.

"It should still matter, kid. Your living a life as someone you don't know. Yuushio Heiba was who you were, right now....your just Yuu." He never finished however, after he watched Yuu take a swig of his beer and lose balance. Kai almost threw out an arm to catch him, but Yuu had caught himself. Unfortunately Kai was not prepared for the second loss of balance and this time Yuu fell straight on the floor, landing hard on his ass. Kai almost toppled over in laughter, he didn't think Yuu was such a light weight.

"Your kidding right!?" Kai held out a hand for Yuu to take. He'd help him over to the couch and let him rest the alcohol off. Who would have thought he'd be unable to handle beer. Than he thought for a moment, "hey, it must be because you don't eat a lot." He helped Yuu sit on the couch and sat on the other end, setting his left foot on the couch and the right still hanging off.
