Paradoxical world (Bloody x Perch)

Kana has heard about the sickness flying around, that's why Sato made sure to keep him safe as much as he was keeping himself safe and health, making the younger male drink all sorts of strange tasted drinks that almost made him sick, because of the taste itself. A few times the thought that the monk wanted to actually kill him with them passed through his head, yet as soon as he realized that he was actually feeling why better after that, he thanked him.

That was one of the many reasons to worry for Goto these two months, non stop. Even Sato felt burdened and almost forbid him to talk about his friend, just to help him forget. Yet it wasn't happening. That's why the poor tree in front of him was now full with cuts and Kana panting silently. As soon as he heard someone speaking behind him, not even able to realize it was Goto at first, with an all quick move he turned around, pointing the sword at the other's throat, as he lifted his gaze though, freezing on place. His big blue eyes widened, unable to believe that he was even seeing the other, at first almost shouting out from happiness, yet holding it inside in the last second, taking a deep breath and eve though he was happy, he was also really angry.

"The one who has promised me to be back after a month, but is still not here. Have you seen him by any chance? He is a tall, big silly head. Older and the one I wanna kill the most right now." Kana spoke out the words all calmly, yet his body was speaking it all. How nervous he was, how much he wanted... to just hug the other, to make sure it was really him. To tell him so many things, but he wouldn't. Not yet.

Goto wasn't really expecting the threat of a sword at his throat. But as soon as Kanase had turned around, Goto froze and put his hands up by his side, giving in. He let a small smile hang from his lips as he watched the emotions flash through Kanase's eyes. Happiness, shock, anger. Goto didn't blame him for throwing a sword out at him, even though it wasn't exactly meant for him. "Ah, I suppose he should be around here somewhere. He had his hands full moments ago with turkey and rabbit." At his hip hung three rabbits and a turkey from ropes tied to his belt.

Just as much as Kanase had seemed to change, so had Goto. Instead of his normal kimono, Goto now wore black ninja clothing. He claimed it was more comfortable then the kimono. His hair had grown slightly longer. So instead of spiking out from all over, it now hung heavily from his head. His left face had the scar, lightened by the sun and reflected off Kanase's sword. He had grown taller and had lost some weight due to the sickness. His brown eyes gleamed as strongly as they had before, if not more so. Goto had grown stronger both physically and mentally.

Goto looked down at the sword, following it to Kanase's hand and up towards his face. Kanase had also grown. Where he would have normally ignored holding a sword, he now pointed it at Goto. His long hair had been cut, and it now hung low around his face. His eyes showed strength within them, and he could tell his voice had slightly grown manlier. Through his Kimono, Goto could tell the muscles Kanase had grown. His arms had power, his leg had strength. His fears of Kanase changing on him had come true. And although he was still very clearly the same Kanase, Goto couldn't shake the small feeling he had in the back of his head. He spoke out softly, handing his head low. "I am truly sorry, Kanase."

It took him a moment, yet as soon as he was able to think at least a bit, Kana took off the sword, yet still holding it in his hand. He took a longer look at the other male, from head to toe. He has changed. His hair... it looked even better now. His eyes - they were as strong as ever. He seemed to have lost some weight, yet he had grown taller as well. Damn. Now Kanase was really feeling like a kid compared to him, because he didn't grow an inch from his previous height.

As he heard the other's words, he peeked at the rabbits and the turkey, shaking head and crossing his arms. "He deserves to sleep in the forest then. Maybe he will befriend with the animals there.." He was rather sulking like a real kid then anything else. But he couldn't help it. He missed Goto. Too much. And still not showing for such a long time. He had to accept it though. He had to also let his happiness out. Maybe because he wasn't able to hide it anymore, but he had to.

Kana peeked at his friend, after a small pause, sighing and throwing the sword aside, putting on a small smile finally. "Welcome back, silly Goto." I've been waiting for you. The younger male made a step closer, just before to reach his hand up to the other's face, hearing Sato all happily shouting from behind him. "Gotoooo! You are back! Come come. We have so much to talk about. I must tell you what a disaster Kanase was while you were gone." The dark haired boy threw a small glare at the monk, clicking with his tongue and taking the sword from the ground. "Don't listen to him... Everything he says is a lie."

As Kanase lowered his sword, Goto had also lowered his hands. They stood face to face, neither one talking. The Kanase spoke up, claiming that he should sleep in the forest, befriend the animals. Goto let out a small chuckle. "Ah, he would deserve it. But he's been sleeping with the animals enough." Goto looked down at the younger male with such vigor that if he had been staring a wolf in the eyes, the wolf would give way first. But though he stared, his eyes weren't menacing. In fact, they held a more pleasing emotion. Caring, kind, affectionate eyes that showed how much love he held within him. Love for the other standing before him. But he would never announce it out loud.

They fell into silence once more, Goto watched the other carefully. Suddenly Kanase was sighing, tossing the sword aside. He smiled up at Goto and welcomed him back. Goto flashed a toothy grin at Kanase. "I'm home." He had missed the sound of those words. The sound of Kanase's voice. In his death bed, Goto had realized he no longer remembered what the other had looked like, had sounded like. He thought for a moment at that time, thinking he himself had just forgotten the other. Luckily for him, it had been the force of the sickness that made him forget. He took a step forward when he noticed Kanase do the same. He had watched as his hand rose to reach his own face but stopped short just as Sato had called out to him.

Goto laughed out at the man's eagerness to speak with him and took a step past Kanase, not first before looking down at him with a smile. "I'm back old man. And tell me what disasters have you gone through with my absence?" He laughed out once more as Kanase trudged behind him with the sword in hand once more. He pat the top of his head as he told him not to believe what thew monk said. "Oh come on, you have to admit that even when I was here you were a trouble maker." Goto reached Sato and sighed, slumping his shoulders. "I tried to keep you out of that village but you always went in." Then he perked up and laughed out. Goto had truly changed. His view on the world no longer had him nervous and suspicious of everything.

Kana blinked a couple of times not quite sure what did the other mean at first, shrugging his shoulders slightly and running his hand through his hair, messing it a little. On top of everything else, it was hot... damn hot. The younger wasn't even sure what took his friend so much to be back, yet he was surely gonna ask sooner or later. Maybe sooner then he thought.

As soon as Goto stepped forward, Kana's heart skipped a beat. He totally forgot what this feeling was, due to the other's missing, yet he was to remember it now. Damn. Just as much as he thought that everything was gone, it turned to be stronger then he even imagined. Though, cut of his thoughts, the younger looked up at both the other males, pointing at them. "You two... I am stronger then both of you, remember." He mumbled silently, yet instantly leaning into the pat and grinning all widely. "But you still loved me, even though I was such a trouble maker." Kana didn't even realize how these words sounded like, yet seeing the other laughing, he himself did it.

How much has Goto changed. Even Kanase could see it. He was happy somehow. Without even thinking twice, he headed forward, pointing at the house with the sword, grinning widely. "Let's go inside. The sun kills me." The younger mumbled out and literally ran to the house, never letting off the smile of his face.

Goto laughed at Kanase's sudden outburst of being stronger. That was true, but Goto was sure he could find his ways around the other's powers. He was able to hold up to him before. Why not now? Then Kanase answered him from his own remark of being a trouble maker. Goto's eyes softened as he peered down at the other and he chuckled softly. "And you was I to have loved a troublemaker." Goto knew exactly which words he had used. But he made no indication that he meant them. He winked at Kanase before laughing out. His words clearly came off as a joke. But to Goto, they actually spoke the truth.

Suddenly Kanase was running back into the house, claiming the sun to be too hot. Goto laughed again. He lived in Edo all his life, and the summer days were always dreadfully hot. Yet even now, Kanase had never been able to handle the summer heat. Goto however liked it. On the most hottest of days, Goto had trained himself. ANd rested only when the sun fell. Kyoto wasn't nearly as hot as Edo, and thus Goto looked up at the sky, reveling in the heat of the sun. Then he looked back at Sato and he shrugged. "Shall we go?" Goto began walking to the house before stopping himself and pulling off the hares and turkey he had caught earlier. "For you Sato, for helping us two months ago and watching over him until now."

Even though the time has passed, it seemed that Goto had no signs of liking him again. Though, he was able to hide his feelings well enough and Kana knew that, so maybe, there was still any hope. He was so going to ask the other later on. First, he wanted to take a shower and eat. Damn his clothes were all wet already, making him wanting to just throw them away. He looked back to make sure the other guys were coming, before to stretch himself slightly and keep his way to the house.

Sato looked at the hares and the turkey, then at Goto again, shaking his head as a sign that he shouldn't, patting the other's shoulder slightly. "Thank you so much. Though really you shouldn't. I did this to help you. Also you deserve the most help."With these words, the monk entered inside the house, while Kana was already inside, more like jumping up and down around of happiness, yet as soon as he caught Sato's playful smile, he stopped and all obediently sat on the first chair hit eyes saw. "Um... well... I will go take a shower, you... uh yeah, wait here." He mumbled to Goto, yet instead of looking at him, looking at Sato, realizing how messed up he is getting, just grabbing the towel from the sofa and running into the bathroom.

Darn, his heart. It was beating so fast that he almost wasn't able to even realize what was going on with him. Even though he was trying his best to calm down, it was just turning to happen the opposite. "Breath silly." He mumbled quickly to himself, for a second just leaning against the wall and closing his eyes. He was fucked up with these feelings.

"Why don't you join him in the shower?" Sato looked at Goto suggesting him the crazy idea, without the younger even realizing about that.

Goto looked from his catch to Sato. He didnt know why the man wouldnt take them as thanks. He brought them into the house with him an set them aside. Once he had the chance he would pluck the turkey and skin the hares. Store them in an ice box for later and when the time came he would cook them and they would have a feast. He needed to thank the man someway, and he wasnt going to take no for an answer.

Goto watched, when he entered the house, as Kanase ran around aimlessly. He caught his nervous glances from time to time. Then he stammered making him stay in this room until he came back. And without any other word left in a hurry. He had stared off after the other, even when he no longer saw the other's figure. Then Sato spoke up, suggesting that he shower with the other. To some they would think the monk was just offering a shower to Goto and was trying to save his well from using up too much water. But Goto knew, he could tell, that that wasnt what Sato had meant.

Goto's eyes widened briefly before before narrowing again. He let out a smile that split his face in half and took a seat in the chair he had two months ago. He shook his head at the older man. "Ive got other ways of surprising him. To bathe with him like that is not one." Goto figured he would let him have his privacy for now.

Sato just nod his head, not even bringing the topic again. Maybe his joke went too far, yet... it wasn't really a joke at all on the first place and both Goto and him knew that.

After taking himself some more time, Kana finally took off his clothes, already used to the bathroom not even waiting for any hot water to be brought, he went to where the snap-roll was, quickly taking a small cold, yet rather all refreshing shower, especially in this hot weather. He had no clue of what were the two males outside doing though, yet for him it was rather all quiet right now. He liked it though. The silence around. As if, everything got back to normal and even the trees were heaving a peace now that Goto was back. Yeah, actually Kana learnt how to read even the trees, so they actually were feeling relaxed right now. At first it was odd of course. It wasn't like he was speaking to walking trees though, nothing like that. Just call it.. the power to control the nature itself had its pluses.

Once done with the shower, Kana took the towel, glad that after such a long time there was already a big enough one to wrap it around his body, taking the dirty clothes and walking off the bathroom just to see Sato, talking to Goto. He raised a brow at how excited the other seemed, for a moment puffing his cheeks. Gosh... he... he was jealous of an oldie? Seriously. The younger boy ran his fingers through his hair and walking to the other two just the hear the monk talking about his small accidents.

"And as I was saying, he almost burnt the forest! He... caused a whole week of rainy weather and what else." The dark haired boy crossed his arms, sitting all sulky like on the chair next to him. Even though he was grown and all, one thing was probably not going to change: His childish behavior around Goto. Was it good or no, he wasn't sure, yet... There was no sign of him changing it at all.

"Remind me though why was this going to happen? Because Sato mistook the spell." Kana pointed at the monk next to him, putting on the most devilish smile.

It had several minutes since Kanase had entered the wash room and gone to bathe. Sato and Goto had fallen into silence for a moment before the monk started a conversation about Kanase's amazing feats. Goto had started off on a laughing fit with each story Sato had told him. And it wasnt long before Kanase had returned to the room and instantly started to pout.

Sato had been talking about how Kanase had nearly burned the whole forest and how for one week the rain wouldn't end. What made Goto laugh out was when Kanase, in his innocent childlike manner accused Sato of having read off the wrong spell. "Oh come now. A monk...forgetting his spells?" Goto couldnt stop laughing. He truly missed being back here with the two. The whole two months he spent away from them wore heavily on his chest. Especially when he fallen to the sickness.

For a moment Kana stayed silent, just watching his friend laugh. It was kind of cute, nice and he so missed to hear this laugh. Except for his feelings and all, just the fact that Kana was here along with the these two was the best. He somehow, in this one moment, wished for everything to just stay the way it is, forever.

"Right? He is supposed to teach me how to use the spells correctly, but he, himself, mistakes them!" Kana threw a small playful smile at Sato, who started explaining why this happened and all, even threatening Kana that he would make his training heavier, instantly making the younger one gulp and come closer to Goto, tugging on his sleeve, while looking all sadly. "See what monster he is!? He... he even left me to sleep outside for three freaking days, Goto!" The dark haired boy mumbled all silently, pretending to be even sniffling.

"Because he broke the table! I have no idea what had gotten him, but he broke the table! My table!" Sato instantly threw the words in his defense, making Kana sigh and look aside. He knew pretty well what the reason was. He was just angry that Goto wasn't back yet, so... he just took his anger. He... wasn't at the fault, well maybe a little.

After few small rather all funny argues about why did Kana do that and why did Sato punished him, both started laughing, as Kana pulled back from Goto, clearing his throat. "Well, I will go put some clothes on." He said and got up from the chair he was sitting on, seeing though the monk doing the same. "And I have some things to do in the forest, so unfortunately I will need to leave you two. Please Goto, make sure that he won't break my house while I am gone hmm?" As Sato said the words, Kana looked all threatening at him, humphing and just heading out of the room, entering into the other one, he was sleeping in, ready to search for any fresh kimono.

Goto looked down at the shying Kanase with a smile. The other had pushed closer to Goto and gripped his sleeve as Sato threatened to punish him. Goto quite liked the little argument between the two. When they first arrived, Goto was suspicious of the monk. But very quickly he grew to like the man. After two months, kanase had also grown closer to the monk. And now he could see a slightly more clearer resemblance between the two. With Kanase's innocence, he tried to get Goto on his side. However, his attempts didn't quite get anywhere when Goto spoke out himself. "You were threatening me just moments ago with the same thing, you know?" He had a grin on his face as he looked at the other.

After the small argument between the two adn the fit of laughter, bith were leaving to go elsewhere. Where Kanase was going to go put a kimono on, Sato was going outside to do some other things. Goto watched as Kanase left the chair he sat in and Goto couldnt help but watch his back side closely. He made sure not to let the other know, looking back at Sato as Kanase had turned around. Sato then left before hoping Goto could keep his house in one piece. But when Kanase turned back to leave again, Goto's piercing eyes watched the younger male go. Goto now sat in silence, a grin on his face as he waited for the other to return.

Kana looked at Goto and pursed slightly his lips out, making a "shh" sign. "That was a different case, okay?" He whined, before to hear Sato laugh now, just before both of them got up. For a moment the younger felt the gaze of his friend over him, yet he thought it's just his imagination. Why would be Goto looking at him, right? He though thought that the other would come in the room as well, yet the seconds, even minutes were passing and he was still alone in the room. Was there any hope for him seriously? As he found some light blue kimono to put on, he just sat on the floor, slightly laughing at himself.

"Silly. It's not like, he'd even come and tell you that he loves you. Stop hoping." He mumbled the words to himself, slightly gripping on the kimono, as he took a deep breath, lying on the floor, just a one minute rest. Kana knew very well why was he waiting for Goto so desperately, yet what? The other was back, changed. Who knows, he may have even found a wife already. Thinking about that, maybe it was time for Kana to do the same? "Wife, huh.." mumbling these words he let out a small laugh again. Like it'd be possible - he loved Goto.

Kana slowly got up from the floor in the end, taking off the towel, yet instead of instantly putting on the kimono, he walked to the mirror he got from Sato not a long time ago, taking a small look at his body. He had few scars covering his skin, from the heavy training, yet he had really grown manlier. He liked himself. Yet maybe... just maybe, he wasn't enough for his friend. Well of course, they were friends, that was normal. After taking one last look at himself, Kana slowly began to dress himself, a small sad smile finding its way over his face.

Goto sat in silence as he waited for Kanase to return. He could hear the rustling in the other room indicating that he was walking around. Goto had thought about popping into the room, surprising the other. He was sure he would end up seeing quiet the surprise himself. Which ended up hungering Goto's thoughts more. He leaned forward, hand to his chin as he thought. He couldn't just walk in and confess. He had to do it in a better way. Goto had no worries about whether or not he would be rejected. If he was that was fine, he would merely stay friends. But is he wasn't, then he would be ecstatic. He'd probably jump poor Kanase right then and there. Which meant it couldn't be done in Satos home, with him walking around anywhere and anytime. He sat up again, before thinking of another plan. Wait! The river...that was the place he had first realized his feelings for the other. But not today., no. They had to talk about the minister first, about what he spoke about with Tokugawa thanks to his cousin. But soon after Goto was sure to make his moves. Before they fought with the minister. He would just have to figure out how.

It took the younger few more minutes before to dress himself and just get rid of all the sad thoughts and just calming down. What if he was rejected? He would live with that. Yet, for now, they should concentrate on a way different thing: the Prime Minister. He had to speak about that with Goto, to tell him what did he hear. That bastard totally had taken the whole village, making everybody live in fear. He tried to find Kana a couple of times yet failed both thanks to Sato and he, himself, and their magic. But still, they had to make their move soon. Else, almost nobody would be able to help.

Kana came back in the other room, giving his friend a small smile, walking to him yet instead of sitting next to him, squatting in front of Goto. "So, wanna prepare something to eat? I'd like to tell you few things Sato and me heard for the minister as well." Kana said and patted the other's hip, slightly widening his eyes, seeing how muscular they were, yet instantly shaking his head and getting up. "What do you want to eat though? I... well learnt how to make some things, but... Sato still forbids me to enter the kitchen when he isn't around." With a small sad face, the younger looked at "the kitchen", which wasn't exactly a kitchen, but just a small separated place in the other side of the room, sighing and whining silently. Well, it was true that he was a disaster sometimes when trying to cook, but still, he wasn't that bad... or so he thought. At least his meals were edible. That was still something, right?

Goto noticed Kanase walk into the room, but instead of standing to greet him he just straightened himself in the chair. Kanase crouched down on front of him, which Goto found slightly strange. But he said nothing of it. But when the other decided to feel his hips for that mere moment, Goto flinched, but hid it well. Kanase stood back up and continued talking about what to eat. If he was in fact hungry. Which lucky for him he was.

Goto cleared his throat and stood up before walking to the door and grabbing the two hares he had caught before. "How about some meat? We should probably eat them before they go bad." He held up the hares and turned them in his hands. They were both males, and the meatest hares he had seen on his travels. He had learned well to scavenge and live off the land. They had no money to pay for a night in a house, so they camped outside for the one week they traveled to Kyoto. When he returned, Goto felt safer camping out then he would buying a night inside. Now that he was coming back to the clutches of the minister.

Kana raised a brow, for a moment thinking that he felt the other flinching, yet realizing it was impossible, shaking his head in disbelief, just smiling a little, as soon as he saw the hares, feeling his stomach clenching a little on a ball. He was too busy going straight to train, so he even forgot to get his meal in the morning. He thought for a moment though how did Goto live at all, if he was able to eat anything, if yes what? For Kana it was easy, he had someone to cook for him, so he shouldn't have worried, but what about his friend?

The younger pointed at where the so called kitchen was, heading to there and instantly stealing one apple from the basket, taking a bite all happily. "Nae nae, before we start talking about anything else tell me how it was in Kyoto. What has happened? Is your family alright?" He had no idea what was happening outside Edo except for the sickness he heard about, so he wanted to know. Kana had never been outside this village at all, so he knew nothing about the outside world, so when he asked, he kinda looked with sparkling eyes at his friend, expecting to hear how beautiful it was there.

The dark haired boy even took a seat on one of the chairs there, stretching himself a little and smiling at Goto.

Goto noticed the kitchen like area Kanase pointed too. He took the hares with him and set them on the ground as he looked around. He found a small bucket and a sharp knife, which would literally be the only two things he would use in preparing the hares to eat. Kanase had grabbed himself an apple and as Goto went to sit down he had heard the crunch of the fruit between his teeth. "You better not spoil your appetite for my special hare stew." Goto laughed. For the two weeks he traveled to and from Kyoto, he had learned how to cook up quite the stew. Hare was his specialty now, turkey was just a side dish he learned how to cook well.

Before he could start anything however, Kanase had him stopping to talk about life in Edo. Goto fell silent for a moment, then looked up from the bucket on the floor. "My father....and my aunt....they, they died from the sickness. We couldn't find a medicine that would help them." He looked at the knife and turned it in his hands. Because they couldn't find so,e sort of treatment, many people died. And Goto was among those who caught it. But through sheer force he defended against the sickness. He was the only one who could. By the time he got better a medicine had finally been found. And when he left Kyoto it was already being passed from village to village within Kyoto.

Goto smiled after, remembering what it was like in Kyoto. "It's beautiful there. The trees are bright with color as our are just more plainly green. The food in indescribable and smells delicious. The streets, no matter which, all smell so good because of it. There's a red in Kyoto you know." He looked up at Kanase with a wink. "my cousin forced me to go in a few times." He let out a laugh before continuing. "There was a festival going on when I left, the ending of the season they said. With the colder nights coming on they set a festival to help them prosper in the winter." His eyes showed how much he wished to see such happiness here within his own home. But Edo never held such festivals. And now, there was no happiness in Edo. Not with the minister being here.

Goto went to work on the hares. He cut a slit in the stomach of one and let the blood drain into the bucket. When the blood had drained he skinned it. Once skinned he rinsed it off from the well within the kitchen. Once rinsed he cut it into pieces. Removing the meat from the bones of the hare. Then he set it aside and did the exact same thing with the other. He found some broth in Sato's food supply and poured some into the black pot above the fireplace. Then he dumped the bits of hare meat inside. From his pouch, that he still wore at his side, he pulled out an herb which he stripped and through into the pot. He was glad to have found some sake too, because he even poured that into the pot. On his way back he purchased some vegetables and after chopping those up he threw that into the stew. It would be an hour before the stew was completely ready.

Kana pursed his lips out, shaking head as if to show that he wouldn't get full just from an apple, yet as soon as he heard what Goto said, he looked at him all shocked, unable to even react. His father... he was dead? The younger boy was still kinda in hate of his friend's father, yet he would never wish for him to die. It was just too sudden. But once again, he heard himself about this sickness, so he knew pretty well how bad it was. With a small sigh, he mumbled a silent "May him rest in peace." slightly playing with his fingers feeling guilty for even bringing this topic.

Even though that, as Goto kept talking, he smiled a little, hearing the rest of the words. Just as his friend described it, it looked so beautiful. He so wanted to go there once, when everything was over maybe. As soon as he heard about the red neighborhood, he threw a small glare at his friend, crossing arms. "Aha! And you had fun there I guess... How was it? Humph." Kana turned his head aside, rather all sulky. So while he was here training and wondering what to do with his life and his feelings, the other was visiting such places? That was mean...

Kana slightly stomped with his foot, like a real kid that didn't receive his candy, yet as soon as he saw how was Goto cooking so skillfully, he widened his eyes. The other was indeed good at this, unlike him, who literally burned the bread Sato managed to buy once, getting scolded and punished. But he couldn't help it. He was just a disaster in the kitchen and he knew it.

Just a minute after the meal was ready, Kana heard the door opening, seeing Sato coming back, as soon as he smelt the food, instantly running first to check how was everything in the small "kitchen". "Thanks god. It's Goto who cooked. We will be able to eat normal food." Kanase glared at him, pointing at him and making a small "I will kill you" sign, turning his head aside. Damn, Sato just loved messing with him.

Goto nodded in agreement with Kanase's silent prayer for his father. But he continued cooking and stirring the stew occasionally. He laughed as soon as Kanase's eyes widened from the horror of his friend visiting the red district. But his voice didn't come out. Not for a while. He stopped stirring and just looked at the pot. His lips had a soft smile on his lips and his gentle and low voice escaped from his throat. "It didn't even compare." Goto then turned his head towards Kanase, his eyes alight with truth and emotions. The red light district was very eye catching, and there were times he couldn't escape it, but never once had he ever wanted anything to do with the woman and buys of the district.

He picked up stirring again as he looked away, only to hear the door fly open and running sound through the house. Sato panted in the door way with an expression of worry. But as soon as he saw Goto cooking instead his body visibly relaxed. Goto laughed at the action, wondering how many times Kanase had threatened this man's house with burning down. Then he fell silent and silently, still stirring the stew, he spoke up to the both of them. "You know....I almost never made it back." He looked up at Kanase only, staring straight into his eyes before back to the stew. "That sickness....it almost killed me too."

Kana raised a brow at first, tilting his head aside. He was kinda curious of these places himself, if he had to be honest. He have heard what ever of them, yet the beauty of the district itself was another thing to see it yourself. As soon as he heard Goto's answer though, he opened his mouth to say something, yet stopped himself. He actually believed his friend seeing his eyes. These eyes weren't to be lying. That's for sure.

Just when Sato joined them in the kitchen place, almost sitting on the chair next to Kana's, they both looked at Goto all in disbelief, shocked and not even sure how to react. The younger took a deep breath, for a moment imagining if he had to meet his friend's dead body, gripping slightly on his kimono, where his heart was. He knew that he shouldn't be crying because the other was here, right now in front of him, yet just the thought that he could lose him, it just killed him for a moment, from the inside. A small, yet the worst pain.

He didn't care what would the other think of him, nor how would that look, nor anything, Kana just got up, kinda shaken still by the words of Goto, walking to him and just hugging him all tightly. He gripped on the other's cloth, all strongly from behind, burying his face against the other's chest. "Don't say anything. Just remember one thing: I'm not letting you die. Never." Kana mumbled the words all silently, not even daring to look at his friend, taking himself a few seconds to actually calm down by the news he got.

After stating what he had gone through, Goto went back to stirring the stew. He didn't look back at the other two, even after seeing the slight shock on their faces. The room fell into silence, the only sounds coming from Goto fixing up the stew. When he determined it ready and set the cooking tools down, he turned around on the stool he sat on. Jut in time for Kanase to crash into him with a hug. Goto could feel the shaking of his arms as he gripped hold of his shirt from behind. He could feel his clothes becoming wet with tears as Kanase cried into Goto's chest.

Goto brought his hands up and held Kanase close to him. This was the first surreal hug they had shared for a long long time. He rested his head against the younger male's and smiled. He never tried to think about what Kanase would end up going through without him here. He didn't want to think about how they would never feel the others warmth anymore. Heard their voices. And from where Goto lay dying, Kanase would be fighting on his own. He fought that urge, he fought the sickness. He came out unscathed compared to the others. And some who lived in the village he hid in, called him a demon. He didn't care what they thought of him. He would never see them again anyway.

"Why are you crying? I'm here now right?! I'm not dying anytime soon." He fell silent as he took in Kanase's sent against his own. "That goes for you as well you know? I will not hesitate to sacrfice myself for you." He looked up with a grin on his face at Sato. "And I will fight for you as well. I was suspicious of you at first, but you've taken care of the both of us in ways I will never be able to thank you for."

It wasn't that he wanted to, yet the tears had slowly started falling down on their own. Just the thought of the other not being here now, it was killing him. He couldn't get over the thought of losing him. Kana remembered the night where he went to Goto's house, seeing him almost dying by the wounds he had, a small hiss running out. He almost forgot what it was to feel anger these past two months, like... such strong anger. The desire to want to kill. Thanks god that now at least he was able to control it well. Unlike before, he learnt how to impress his strength and powers, so he wasn't even worried of losing control.

Yet, once again, like a real kid, he was crying silently against the other's chest. Kana put on a small smile though, feeling the Goto has returned the hug, he was glad the other was here. He heard his friend asking yet what could have he answered? To tell him that he doesn't know the reason himself? No. That was idiotic. With a small sigh, he wiped his tears and smiled at the other, shrugging slowly. "Shh, I just got emotional. Don't worry." Kana pulled slowly off the hug, as soon as he heard the other's words again though, a small chuckle running out. "I know. Saw it quite a lot times. But nobody's going to die, okay?" After saying the words, he peeked at Sato as well, who raised his hands in the air, as if saying that he doesn't know anything. "Don't look like that at me. I am old already. And Goto. That's the least I can do for my nephew after all." Until now, Kanase hasn't even realized it but that was true. He still had a relative here: His uncle, so he had to appreciate that more then anything else.

He sat back on the chair after the small cheesy moment clearing his throat and looking at the food. "When is it gonna be ready, chef Goto? I am hungry."

Goto held onto Kanase until he let go. He could not only physically feel the other calming down, but he could visibly see it now. The shaking had stopped, the hiccups slowing, and his shoulders had started to relax. Soon enough Kanase was pushing himself away from Goto's chest and telling him he was fine now. Goto wiped away what tears didn't get absorbed into his clothing and laughed at the mess Kanase was. When Goto heard Sato's response to Kanase's statement, he laughed. Soon he fell quiet when Sato had told him it was the least he could have done. Then he watched as Kanase took a seat back on his chair from earlier. He frowned very slightly at the loss of the others warmth against his, but he didn't make any notice of it and just let it be.

At Kanase's chirp for food, Goto laughed. "Yes, yes. It's done already." He looked for some bowls and found those of which Goto and Kanase had used when they ate together for the last time here. He reached up and grabbed them with ease and looked at them. A small smile graced his lips before he ducked the spoon into the pot and poured some stew into the bowls for Sato and Kanase. Then he reached up for the third bowl there and poured himself a bowl. He watched the other two take a bite of his food before he himself took a bite. He wanted to see their expressions at eating wild stew instead of purchasing some from the market.

As Kana pulled back and sat on the chair, he could feel himself already missing the closeness of his and Goto's bodies. It wasn't like he had any hope that he would feel more then this, yet just a simple hug was able to already make his heart beat all fast. The younger took a small, yet deep breath, after a second though, as the food was mentioned, he clapped with his hands once. He had to admit, he loved food way too much. At times he even made Sato worried, since he wasn't even gaining a bit, yet he was eating for three people.

"Sometimes I wonder if I am living with a real pet here." Kana heard the monk saying, throwing him a small sulky face, then looking at Goto. "Goto, please. Now that you are here, get a hold of this hunger...Though, he is like his mother. She was the same - tiny, ye eating a lot, so unlike a woman though." As soon as he heard the other's words, a small smile popped over his face. He wondered how his mother looked actually, since Sato never really showed any photo of her. Kana was sure that she was a real beauty though.

As soon as he saw the food in front of him, Kana took the spoon and just started eating all hungrily. All this training was actually taking all his strength, so he needed to get it back from somewhere. "What are you two planning to do though? Wanna go get some food for the next days?" The younger heard Sato speaking again, gulping kinda nervously, for a moment peeking at Goto. He had to admit, he was worried that... if he was left alone with his friend again, he would... not hold himself. It was enough difficult at times, to be able to control you especially with no one around. He thought that maybe he learnt how to control that along with his true self, yet no. Unlucky for him.

"Nah, it's already getting late enough. I suggest us to eat, talk about what is happening with the minister and then go sleep." Kana could see Sato's surprised face to go sleep soon. His face was like: "Which demon got inside you boy?", making him puff his cheeks and just eat the soup all silently. "I was just suggesting, okay?"
