"Besides, the others should be returning from the hunt soon." But as soon as he said that, he heard a howl in the distance. Tate stayed until the other turned around. Pei came running up to him before he could. He had no time to talk to her so as he nodded to Hiro he called out to her as he ran off. "Fix his splint!" And with that he was shifting into his wolf form and bursting through the forest. Another howl came, cut short and a loud deafening cry sounded in Tate's ears.

Hiro watched as the other bursted off into the woods, Hiro looked over at Pei.

"What do you think happened?" Hiro's tail thumped on the ground.

"I can't tell the difference between the howls they're using, do you use different ones here?"

Pei came trotting over before shifting into her own human form and fixing the make shift splint. She was gentle as she crouched down beside him and moved his leg around. "Yes we do. Tate made sure that we develop different howls for certain things." Pei looked up and in the direction of the howls. "By the sound of it. The others are being attacked by something. That cry we just heard....They were about to tell us who it was before they were cut off."

 

Tate ran through the forest, crashing through brush and low branches that slapped his face. But he was bound to keep running until he reached the other members of the pack. Suddenly he did, he broke through the forest into an open field. And what he saw surprised him. Rein was lying limp on the ground. She was the one who's howl was cut short. Kou and Hal was fighting back the creature, Hal still slightly limping from his last fight. But the two were easily outmatched against the grizzly bear that was attacking them. Tate quickly jumped in, running and jumping on the back of the bear, catching it off guard.

Hiro's ears flattened agansit his head as Pei spoke.

"I hope their OK..." Hiro was worried about the others especially Tate he hoped that Tate would be able to handle the situation and get them all out alive.

"Does this often happen? Where I use to live didn't have many large animals so I didn't have to worry to much."

"Wild animals normally know when not to attack others. In fact, the only attacks that normally happen is territorial or feeding. I'm afraid I have no idea what could be attacking the team." In the distance Pei heard another howl. It was weak, meaning one of the wolves were injured and had barely enough strength to howl. Pei listened to the howl. "Oh goodness. A grizzly!? Grizzlys never attack wolves!" Pei had stopped working on the splint as she looked in the direction of the howl.

 

Tate was thrown off the grizzly, but he soon jumped back on, latching his teeth around the bear's arm. Hal jumped at its leg and latched on as he tried to trip it backwards. Kou was nipping at it, trying to distract it. Over and over the three wolves ran around it and threw it off guard. But the bear quickly and effortlessly threw them off. Hal's injury was worsening, and even now, Tate and Kou were supporting fresh wounds.

Hiro's eyes shot wide open at Pei saying that the attacker was a grizzly bear, Hiro quickly sat up darting out of the cave before the other had time to finish his splint.

 

Hiro ran towards the sound of the grizzly bear and wolves growling upon arriving at the scene Hiro taunted the bear untill it followed him , leading the bear away from Hal Hiro shifted into his human grabbing a nearby branch throwing it at the bear which seemed to cause it to be irratated towards Hiro.

Pei tried calling out to Hiro, trying to get him to stop. She ran off a little ways down the hill before she couldn't follow anymore. There was nothing she would accomplish getting in the way of the other's attacking the bear. Pei slowly returned to Nira and her pups.

 

Tate had just been distracting the bear from Hal, his limp stronger now, when Hiro came bursting through the trees. He had no time to say anything as he jumped out of the way from a swipe of one massive paw before Hiro distracted the bear himself and took off through the forest, the bear dead on his heals. Tate checked on the others quickly, Hal nodded at him and went to Rein's side. Kou, still fine followed Tate after Hiro and the bear. They managed to catch up rather quickly, just in time too. Hiro shifted, and Tate noticed the branch fly and hit the bear, clearly irritating it. It rose it's massive paws and lunged at Hiro. Tate did as well, shifting into his own human form. "HIRO!"
