Well, I don't know for the mum, but the guy got all butterflies in his tummy cos someone took care of him for the first time. The only thing is that, he didn't separated the love of a mother, from the love of a "woman". Well, I can't speak, in that matter. He probably got confused, cos he never got a mother's love, so he saw her affection as what a girlfriend would give him in a Relationship...not sure :/

Well I'm not surprised, this is pretty normal in daily live, it happens all over the world, especially in the regions of the world where there isn't a good education system. There still allot of people who believe that a blood line must be pure, and to ensure that you got to keep it within the family. Just like our royal families in the past.

 

If we talk about modern world, We have to look deeper into this. The world is evolving really fast, and our brain and reasoning evolves with it. But our primal instincts are still the same as the one we had in the stone age. Love, hatred, horniness, all instincts that are left over from those age. And it isn't really that strange if you look at it, what is 200 maybe 300 years of evolution over 40000 maybe more. Our primal instinct is to survive, and in order to do that we have to make offspring to ensure our survival. These instincts are very strong and take over our reasoning, which result in beast like things like lust etc, the internet is full of it kouch porn kouch.

 

While we think that we are decent humans, we all still have this beast lingering within us, and god knows how long it will take to temper this beasts. We are on a good way but we still got a long wayyy to go. I mean were still fighting for freedom in many parts of the world, where the only rule is the survival of the fittest. This mongowly girl in India is a great example, if you have a handicap, your just a burden, not fit to survive not fit for offspring.

 

But even in modern world, we still got lots of cases where brothers and sister fuck each other, in America are allot of cases, even in my country. When we are young, we just don't see the risks and we give easier into our instincts. Our brain is fully grown until were 30? not to sure but for everyone this is different.

 

So to give you a quick answer, no I'm not surprised, even Donald Trump wants to fuck his own daughter, and he would if he hadn't lived in America.

 

My reasoning tells me it is wrong, because it only will bring disaster, but can we still fight with reasoning if our primal instincts take over, if you really love someone, even if it is your own sister, love is a strong emotion, you can't just walk away.

 

I'm not judging anyone matter these things, because it is far to easy to tell people it is wrong, we all have this beats inside of us, and it can happen to any of us. Okay, let's take your logic in consideration about the beast within.

The selection between humans in matter of resulting offspring is no different than this in animals,

we take in consideration the following;

- looks, because we need a healthy looking partner. That might mean someone whose body is to 'our likes' but in fact is how you see the partner can take on the role of 'mating'; teeth,hair,height,weight and so on - we unconsciously pay attention to these.

- odor, it is proven that women actually pick their 'mating partner' by the natural odor - yup, just like some animal.

- intellect, as some people pick on appearance for their offspring will take on these features - some people pick the 'mating partner' based on intellect -coughslikemecoughs-.

 

Now, taking these in consideration to move on.

A mother, same as the father, already have the offspring and these offspring cannot mix the blood.

Now, you would ask - why not? It is our instinct speaking.

 

It is not the instinct speaking but some fucked up need to break the 'taboo' and 'be different'.

 

You spoke of evolution and stuff,

inbreeding in animals actually lead to bad results as it brings nothing 'new' into the clan/tribe/pack/group or whatever else. Thus animals avoid inbreeding.

 

During my biology classes we actually spoke of a DNA error when there is inbreeding between humans.

For the life of me I can't recall the term but one of the most fearsome errors is 'the inability to stop bleeding'.

That means, the offspring can die from a small cut. Back in the days these people didn't live up to their 30's.

 

Basically what I am saying is,

that has nothing to do with the primal instinct to continue the chain of genes for the sake of 'purest blood of them all'.

 

Humans just like animals seek features which in their utmost mixture from both sides will give nature 'the best offspring' - evolution requires it.

 

Inbreeding cannot bring evolution but mutation or a very bad gene-error.

I think you darted the topic because it is related to DNA error, but then again as we know psychology always had clashes with biology - so psychology would claim it is due to 'traumatic experience' which led the brain to grow 'abnormally'.

 

In both cases we have 'abnormality', in a way. Although I find that rather tasteless and lame as a definition because then we go to the old good question - what is normal?
