Each and every episode makes me giggle like a fangirl and leaves me browsing weibo reading everything on the show... what a weird feeling when you're a guy...

It's just, they're so cuuuuuuute together. :In love:

I mean, just look at them. Even off screen they'd make a cute couple. I ship them so much, I want them to be together in RL!!!

I can't handle this anymore. I really can't! My usually tough me can't handle this anymore! This is the cutest show ever. I still don't understand how this hasn't been blocked yet! How is that possible?! This show got it all... It's tease factor 100, full of boy on boy romance that's visibly gay, it got sex talk and gay kissing. It's a case for the censorship bureau! The guys at the bureau must be blind. XD I am schocked how this show is possible!

lmao I was thinking the same, it's clearly a gay romance why arent they banning this show? At first I though oh maybe the episodes on youtube are different than the ones streaming in china, weibo, idk, but they are the same, they didnt even cut the kisses!!!

thank you china

pd: thanks for the episodes!

I am sure they secretely love the show as much as you and me. XD

OASN, the series is better watched anywhere else than weibo. Also, I remember reading that if/when it airs on TV it won't air without getting through the editing department first. It's probably uncut because it's not gone through editing/censorship. We basically get to see the free-world version online.

Yay! =(^ .^)=

Hi guys, the ban on Addicted was NOT for homosexual content, rather it was a ban for explicit depiction of underage drinking, explicit depiction of abusive relationship by minors, explicit bad depiction of a powerful (albeit fictional) military family, explicitly promoting inappropriate underage relationship, and a few others. The team that produced and released Addicted repeatedly ignored the warnings from the Government Censorship Bureau and did not edit the explicit contents, thus getting them banned. But Mainland BL movies production does got affected big time because of that.

It is NOT weird that Yandaixiejie No.10 can still be broadcasted because they do not have the elements that was banned by the central government.

Well I guess that makes sense then.

i doubt anyone can give definitive answers about why some productions are banned while others are not, bc that's just the way the system was set up

"China’s vaguely-defined web content rules and inconsistent censorship enforcement work the same way as the fog near a cliff: since people can’t see exactly where the edge is, they’re more likely to stay far away from it, just in case."

they dont ban everything, but they will ban the most prominent thing to make an example. in my opinion, addicted is that ill-fated example. its the best example bc one its also a culmination of other "inappropriate" themes and two, it was WILDLY popular.

said, yandaixie is getting little attention. its being published on youtube and their official weibo, which is almost like an independent film project compared to addicted (published officially on 5 chinese streaming sites and sponsored by huace co.). i can bet money that if yandaixie starts bleeding into mainstream the way addicted did, sapprtf would strike down like the hand of god. flying low is kind of a blessing in disguise?

which is why i think bl productions that reached fame like like love cut itself off preemptively. and while new ones are still being produced, they'll have to be careful about ways to release it and then watch their backs once they reach a certain level of success

p.s. homosexuality IS a reason for addicted's banning. it is not the only reason, but is it one. you can unearth over 20 news sources for this in english and chinese. try naming one source excluding homosexuality that is not some online speculation post. to deny it is ridiculous.

While sparft is not banning this series, the facts that the casts and the series itself do not get any exposure and further opportunities are telling. The series is good, imo. The story is good, the actings are good, the actors are handsome. Yet, no future because everybody is afraid of sparft so nobody in the entertainment industry is giving the cast and the series attention.

Addicted probably got banned for a combinations of reasons, included the one you listed, but it was never really clear. All I know is that China can cite reasons such as anti-corruption campaign for the banning.......this show is corrupting our youth so we're gonna ban it....!

I wouldn't say that Addicted is ill-fated. The banning actually have the opposite effect by making it more wildly popular and sky rocketed the actors to fame, making the two leads into mainstream celebrities. The only ill-fate it has is toward BL dramas that comes after it. The fallout from the banning of Addicted will affect any type of promotional work for future BL dramas and actors. I assume this is the reason for why the YanDaiXie team is not getting any invitations to interviews, shows, or events. Now is still a sensitive time and folks are afraid to invite BL actors.

When I watched yesterday on Why Wether Channel they are some parts that is already subbed. I can understand most of it and I had to said it really end with cliffhanger. Will there be EP11 or are they plan to film Season 2. I guess I'll just listen to the audio dfama to know the rest of the stories.

I havent watched the episodes yet, but I read the official weibo and (I google translated) it said episode 10 was the last one, but no the end of the story? someone told me there were 2 special episodes, but I dont know.

Also,

A message from the producer, Wang XiaoWen:

(translation)

A day-long is just like a year-long, this is how I feel, throughout the whole month, I'm prepared for the worst... to ensure the series won't get XX (banned), to ensure the actors are not being affected, to ensure we are able to reach everyone, to ensure the actors are being recognized by the media, to realize the dream of the whole crew... we've done what we should and shouldn't as well... I've nothing to say now, not sure what should I say anymore. See you, goodbye, YanDaiXie Street No.10 Web Series.

(I didnt translate this, credits to lavalse)
