How could he be king with such a cures.. on his 21st birthday the poison in side of him started to turn on him it started on his right arm leaving a mark it was spreading and slowly killing him . Jarret and his family had always served the Royal family. Befor him was his father, his grandfather, his great-grandfather and so on. Well, he wasn't entirely sure just how long the royal family had been here. His grandfather had gone a bit senile by the time Jarret was old enough to talk to him. His father didn't really go into the history of their family all that much either, so Jarret was basically at a stand still in that area. But he didn't mind. He was a royal knight now, and had even gained rank all the way until he was the prince's personal guard. The prince, a young man who had supposedly been cursed at a younger age.

Jarret had heard the stories of the curse and upon becoming a personal guard had learned about it first hand. When the prince had turned twenty one, he had started wearing a set of gloves, unable to touch those who wished to serve him. Much like Jarret, who was unable to perform his duties 100% because of this curse. Jarret was out on the training grounds, getting in some combat exercises before he didn't have time. From the training grounds, the stables was easily seen. And where Jarret stood, he could see the young prince make his way to the stables.

Jarret raised a brow and wiped off the sweat producing on his forehead with the inner part of his elbow. He sheathed his sword and followed after the prince. Upon reaching the stable, he found the prince looking for his horse. He wondered what the prince was thinking. "Where are you going without telling anyone, your highness?"

Rowlyn looked around the stabels finny seeing his horse ..a strong Coloured

Breed its long main was a golden yellow much like the princes own hair he brushed him with his gloved hands and sighed “ I am sorry my friend.”

He put on a traveler saddle putting his bags on the horse . He took a moment to look to make sure everything was on right its not like he had done this before but he enjoyed spending time in the stables so he watched it be done often.

He was about to mount on and take off when he heard a voice Jarret voice.. “ .. great.. “ he mumbled as he turned around.

“Noting “ he responded when the knight asked him what he was doing he didn’t want to involve anyone. “ just going for a quick ride.. your dismiss ..” he order .. a map was sticking out of his bag over Rowlyn shoulder . He waited for Jarret to leave he didn’t want to risk anyone life.

At the monotone way of dismissing the knight, Jarret raised his brow in interest and pushed himself off from the frame of the stable where he leaned against. He strode over to the prince, only taking a few steps with the length of his legs. He came to a stop mere inches from the other and looked over him, then at the horse. He watched the horse a few moments before looking back at the prince. As soon as he did, he took notice of the rolled up scroll sticking out of the satchel slung over his shoulder.

He scowled, knitting his brows together and crossed his arms over his chest. "And where exactly would you be going, that requires the use of a map?" He knew the prince was adventurous, and would ultimately cause chaos in the castle whenever he had gone missing. But he never ventured out of the Kingdom.

He shook his head and sighed. "Your highness, please, why must you take your adventures on by yourself? One of these days your going to end up getting hurt." Jarret was a loyal knight, and he had sworn to the royalty he served to protect them, especially the young prince, over his own life. And Jarret wasn't about to break that oath.

He watched Jarret walk closer to him he started to tremble he didn’t like people getting close he didn’t want to hurt anyone. He sighed notice the map was sticking out of his satchel .. “ i..” he sighed and looked down “ I Left a note.. I am going to fine the lake of life..if its real.. I have the course of were its told to be…and I don’t want anyone else getting hurt not even you I can handle my self.. and beside.. the poison will one day end.. me.. “ He said looking at him .

“please don’t worry about me.. .. surly my father will name you hire .. after all your family has been noting but loyal to mine..” he said trying to convince the man to leave so he got leave He he mounted his horse and looked at Jarret knowing full well he couldn’t take off until he left.

Jarret pinched the bridge of his nose and groaned out a sigh. "Your highness please, the lake of life is not a journey to be made on your own." He pointed at the map. "If the map is right, then you cross into our Kingdom's enemy's territory. And who knows what else you'll venture into. Bears, wolves, thieves..." He watched as the prince merely stated that his father, the king, would name in higher rank. Jarret shook his head ad the younger male mounted his horse. Jarret grasped hold of the reins from under the horses chin. "It's my duty to protect you. Let me come with you at least. Seeing how I can't stop you from going."

Rowlyn looked at Jarret .. “ I can kill a man with one touch.. I don’t think.. there anything I cant handle.. “ he knew full well that he have to cross in to the enemy kingdom which is why he wanted to go alone and unnoticed He sighed knowing Jarret was not going to let him go he got off the horse and nodded . “ go pack .. ill even come with you to do so.. but be quick..” he said with a sigh . “ Jarret I don’t want you hurt.. my life isn’t one of value not with this cures.. I cant kiss anyone let alone have a child..”

"Yes, the curse can kill a man with a simple touch. But one against a possible army...a spear and arrow would kill you before you could touch them." He held his gaze with the prince until the younger one jumped off the horse in a sigh. He smiled at his win for the day and turned back to leave the stables. "Come then, i only need a few things and we can be on our way."

Rowlyn sighed as he walked with him leaving the stabels “ I also map out stops were there may be healer if they are still any alive.. “ he sighed as he walked with him he fixed his gloves and sighed “ you .. need to pack well its going to be a long journey.. he followed the guard putting his hood over his head so he would not be noticed he was happy mostly everyone was asleep.

He sighed. "And how would you get to a healer, if you'd been killed before getting to them? Your highness please, you need to think these things through." He looked behind him as the younger male threw his hood over his head. Jarret at least approved of that. From the stables they reached the training grounds, and from the training ground they would reach the soldier quarters. A building separated from the actual castle, but still feet away from reaching every main door to the castle. He entered inside and his room was on the first floor just down the right corridor. Inside there was already a pile of things he kept packed in case there was ever a need he had to run or travel from the kingdom. He shouldered the pack that had everything he needed and turned back to the prince. "Alright, let's go saddle up my horse."

“then I would have failed my qust and the kingdom would need a new hire..” he had never been to the soldier Quarter as he walked in he could hear groaning coming form one of the rooms . He hide a blush but keep walking to the other room “do you want me to carry anything..” he asked as he headed back to the stables getting back on his horse he waited for his knight to saddle up “ he petted his horse with his gloved hand . wondering if he ever feel skin on his skin.. he didn’t say thank you to Jarret even though he should have.

Jarret had caught the sound as they passed, but as someone used to it he merely ignored it. Having entered his room he declined the prince's help to carry his own things. "No, your highness, I would not allow you to dirty your hands with my things." Just as soon as they had left the stables they were now returning to them. Jarret dropped his pack and in a timeless manner saddled his steed, a beautiful black gelding with a braided mane and long black tail that almost touched the ground. He'd gone on many adventured with this horse and was glad to see he was still strong as younger horse. He tossed his pack on the rump of the horse and tied it down to the back of the saddle. In a simple hop from the ground, Jarret was now sitting in the saddle. "Are you ready, your highness?"

rowlyn sighed as Jarret didn’t take his offer to help . he didn’t want to be treated like a prince e on this quest ,but it didn’t hurt to have a servant since he wasn’t used to doing much on his own. He got on his hores “ nice.. your so much faster then .. then me at this lets ride till sun raise then we make camp. He nodded “ ready..” he give a gentle kick to the horse side and took off leading the way.

Jarret chuckled at Rowlyn's comment when he saddled and mounted his horse. "Years of practice. Ive been saddling horses since i was tall enough to reach the horses back. At the prince's nod Jarret nudged his horse to start moving. Rowlyn took the lead and the two left the stables without a single other person knowing. As a knight to the kingdom he felt guilty for not having said anything. But he was glad to be giving the prince he served some company. And when sun rose in the sky, the castle would know the two and their horses, were missing.

“Jarret find us a place to rest.. please..”

They'd been traveling all night. Jarret was used to it, but when he happened to look at his prince, he found the other starting to slump against his horse. He made his horse trot up to the side of Rowlyn's and glanced over just as the other started shiver with exhaustion and hunger. He smiled sympathetically and shook his head. He reached over the reins and rasped them from Rowlyn's hands. "Hang on to the mane and I'll find us a place to sleep and some food. A small mountain stood before them, and slough he wasn't sure there would be a cave, there would be some sort of cover. He mumbled out as he began leading them towards the mountain. "And you wanted to do this alone."

“Rowlyn didn’t like how close Jarret was close he held on to the main and finally found a place to rest as he got off his horses pulling out a blanket he didn’t like the man remark “ shut up.. “ he said and closed his eyes “ i guess I am weaker at night.. he hummed “ you can get us some bread form my bag it need to be eaten 1st before the dry meat and jarred good.”

There was no cave, but there was a part near the bottom of the mountain that was showered with heavy vegetation. It was a hassle trying to get the horses through at first, but when they finally managed, Jarret unmountd and got to unsaddling the horses. As he was doing so he caught the smart remark of his prince and the hopeful demand for his knight to get the food. Jarrett looked over at the younger male. "If you'd be so kind, your highness to het your own food. I have to make sure our trail can not be followed in." He started walking out of the vegetation. "Or you can wait for my return. And I'll start a small fire."

Rowlyn stood up his leg were weak “ we may have to stop more tomorrow.. he sighed as he grabbed the breed out of his bag and took the saddle off he had to eat a lot more then most just to keep his body form falling in to sickness. He put some herbs that he eat with everything on the bread leaving some out for Jarret he then pourd some water in to a bowl for the horses to drinks.

It wasn't long before Jarret returned to the small hidden camp with a bundle of sticks in his arms. He also managed to bring back a pouch of berries, which he had found while hiding their train and looking for fire wood. He passed the pouch to the prince, who was already eating some bread. "These should fill you up well. At least until tomorrow comes." Jarret dropped the sticks in a pile on the ground and then arranged them in a small circle. It was day time, so he wouldn't start it yet. For now they would just sit there until they needed it. Jarret brushed his hand across his horse as he came back to sit across from the prince. "When you've finished eating get some rest. I'll take watch."

Rowlyn smiled “Jarret thank you.. for comeing.. he said carefuly doing his best to make sure the gloves would stay on and no part of his skin touch Jarret as he took the berrys “I really shouldn’t have thouth I could do this alone.. but my father is still king.. he will be unhappy of you doing this.. and there no need to keep wach.. we both need rest..” he said as he set the rest of the bread down he curled up to a rock and started to fall asleep.

Jarret noticed just how careful Rowlyn was with reaching for the berries. He wondered if the lake of life would truly be able to cure the prince from this unruly curse. At Rowlyn's thanks, Jarret smiled himself and bowed his head. "I serve the royal family, your highness, not just the king himself. Which means I also serve you. I will take what punishment I must when we return." But Jarret ignored his comment of getting rest. Instead he reached behind him for the blanket in his pack and tossed it over to the prince. "Please use it, your highness. And get some sleep."

“How did you know am cold all the time..” he smiled there was no uses fighting Jarret they would only ride for a short time tomorrow so Jarret could rest . He curled up even more as he feel asleep feeling the warm of a fire shortly after he feel asleep . but he started to shirver and couch in his sleep he did this often in his slepe and just hoped his knight would be careful touching him.

"It's my job to know how to care for you and your family." He smiled back at the other as Rowlyn took the blanket from him. It was a cooler day, and soon Jarret found the air around them too cold. He wondered if a storm was planning to brew over head and he only hoped the shelter was strong enough to cover them from it. Jarret started the small fire and it slowly started to warm their shelter. However, it wasnt a very strong warmth, and Jarret caught the prince shivering where he lay. There wasb't much he had left in order to keep him warm besides his own body heat.
