How did you start watching yaoi?

First time, I looked yaoi 3 years ago and it was Gravitation, I accidentally looked, becouse gravitation was on the same drive with anime the Evangelion 0o.And for some reason I liked it. Then I started reading the manga.In the beginning it was somehow strange to read manga and, I started reading fanfiction and then, I was able to read manga easily.Then so on and away we go ^__^

When I was 17 I watched Queer As Folk out of curiosity, and found out I enjoyed stories with male x male pairings...alot.

Later my lovely cousin introduced me to the popular animes like FMA, Naruto and Bleach, and as I was browsing through fanfiction and fanvids, the word 'yaoi' kept popping up, so I literally Googled "what does Yaoi mean?" I found out, and then thought 'I gotta watch some of that', and thus it began...XD

I started because one of my friends asked me if I knew what it meant, I didn't so I googled it, after that I went in search of yaoi manga, but because I was only about 14 or so and the first one I found was Crimson Spell I stopped, but then one of my other friends lent me Junjou Romantica to watch and that got me back into it (as I was about 16 1/2 by then)

i was watchin sailor moon on youtube and i dont know how but from the results i got to see gravitation so i watched it and i like it after that i began serching for something similar until i found out it was called yaoi and now im here in paradise

i watched a youtube video entitled "asian bL kisses"

with that, i was able to know the movie titles of the kissing scenes!

so that was it, i realized that i really love shounen-ai

I knew nothing about yaoi but I always have liked boys, so to me its perfect haha! I started with one day this person I know showed me a story of Harry Potter and in the story draco started making out with him and I was like OMG I cant believe it. Then they had sex and I was going crazy. So then I wanted to know where it came from and I started looking around and found out about yaoi. The first thing I saw of Yaoi was Sensitive Pornograph and then Junjou Romantica. I loved it so much!!

I first got into boy/boy stuff when I was 14 and obsessed with My Chemical Romance. There's a bunch of pictures of two of the members being flirty, kissing etc and, well... me gusta.

 

Then it moved onto anime stuff when I came across Gravitation (I can't remember how that happened though)

My whole yaoi obsession started because of an old friend of mine. We were in class one day (we were really young at the time XD) and she was writing something, so of course I wanted to read since I'm very curious. She warned me that I might not like it but meh, I didn't care XD And it was a yaoi original story. I didn't go further than kissing and snuggling between the main characters but I loved it so much I started writing my own stories. And then I learned about the wiiiide world of fanfictions...with all the yaoi in it. The first real yaoi fanfic I wrote was about Rurouni Kenshin which was my favorite manga at the time (and really, Saito and Kenshin went together so well that I couldn't hold back XD).

 

From then on I began watching/reading anything yaoi I could find. I never stopped since then~

Well...It was about four years ago...when Shoujo was beginning to bore the hell out of me and I wanted something different and exciting. I was on Photobucket roaming around and stumbled upon a picture of an actual "Yaoi Train". Wow was I amazed and captivated by it. So I went on MF and looked up Yaoi and viola! I stumbled upon a Yaoi manga that was so freaking explicit my young 14 yr old eyes couldn't believe it. So I wondered to myself, if there is Yaoi manga then there has to be Yaoi anime, ne? So I looked up Yaoi anime and stumbled upon Aarinfantasy Yaoi Collection and ended up watching Sensitive Pornograph, Ai No Kusabi and many others. So yea that's when I started watching Yaoi. Four years ago and counting.

My first shonen-ai was Gravitation in 2003. I got it from a friend. And than another friend had a lot of yaois. I didn't even know what yaoi is. So she copied a few of them. I think, my first yaoi wa Haru wo daite ita manga and OVA, and Fish in the Trap OVA. I didn't like them in the beginning, but when she borrowed me Bronze, my opinion changed, and I started to like yaoi.

the coincidence lead me to find Gravitation on youtube I fall in love with yaoi because of it but the

first gay drama/movie I ever watched was QAF (Queer as folk) and that happened before I find out

about Gravitation and yaoi anime, movies and manga

I was over 20, when there was an anime meet, in 2003. I was a little bit new, and I didn't know about yaoi, or shonen-ai at all. One of the girls borrowed me the anime, Gravitation, and told me, this is a great shonen-ai anime. I watched it, and I liked it first time. So this is, how it started.

Looking back, the first time I watched yaoi was hilarious for me.

 

I was in high school. At the time, I was already interested and knew a bit about maleXmale but mostly from fanfiction (I know. I know...). I was checking on the web for anime pics when I came across a gif that has two boys "entertwined".

 

I was like :9onion70: then I looked behind me, no one was in the room aside from myself.

 

So I searched for the title of the anime the gif was derived from, looked for the video, downloaded it and watched.

 

My expressions went from rabbit16 then rabbit8 and finally :cuteonion41:

 

My first yaoi to watch was "Sensitive Pornograph"
