Macys
Have you ever read or at least brought yaoi with you in public places? I have never read yaoi in public places, but I did bring with me a yaoi manga when I was in a trip with some friends. However, I didn't read even a line, in fact I didn't even get it out from my bag, cause I wasn't alone even a moment and I was afraid they would see it... :leaf8:

YLove
I brought once a manga with me at school and got it out in the break and my deskmate saw it, but she didn't say anything, maybe she was ashamed to ask :hamtaro-005 (15):
Inulain
Kekekke~ Why hide it? xD I bought a manga (Yellow - rawr) and read it about 5x times in school (because it's such a nice manga! ) People were asking me why I read it (here in Germany there aren't a lot of people who do actually confess that they read mangas or like them! -> reason? People start saying things like "You should grown up!" or stuff like that :x) And I even explained to them that it was a Shonen ai /yaoi genre... xDD Some of them were a little shoked (BECAUSE OF THE MANGA - NOT THE GENRE; LOL! xD) - other wanted me to lend them the manga - kekekeke I don't know how the circumstances are in Amerika and if you are not allowed to talk about homosexuality - but in germany the reaction on homosexual people isn't bad - only sometimes. In my case it's more "dangerous" to be seen with mangas on the streets than to admit that you watch/read gay moviea/"books"
Rei
Hmm really interesting... not minding that you read bl stuff, but minding that you read manga Strange reaction... Ppl in America, in fact my friends and in general ppl I know won't tell you things like "You should grown up!" if they saw you reading manga, they would just see it as a hobby of yours, a way for you to relax and have fun. Ppl here are quite open-minded and most of them are not bodered by bl, but some of them would be disturbed if they knew you read yaoi...but only some of them... Aki
Oh, you really like Yellow by Makoto Tateno so much? Then you should gimme five cause so do I. I've read it about 8 times I guess.
Inulain
@Reita Yeah - the reaction here in Germany is quite - strange ^^ But I guess - they really aren't fond of Asian culture in general - and they think that all "comics" are kind of childish I don't know a lot of people who really do watch animes and read mangas as a hobby (only a few people are telling that they watched Dragon Ball Z or something like that "when they were young..") I recently talked a lot about gay movies with a friend of mine (who is homosexual too ^^) And he ... wasn't that impressed. xD He thought I was watching some "hard porno" stuff - and was really disappointed when I explained to him, that they are "only" kissing, hugging and moaning (?) He was like "Ok, sweetheart, you HAVE to watch some GOOD and REAL stuff." Others wanted me to send them the movies (one girl who is interested in shonen ai because of me... xD) @misakixusagi Yes it IS one of the best mangas I've ever read @Kaoru Chan -gives five- LOL wow 8 times it's a lot~ But I'm going to read it soon a 6th time too and then I'll catch up with you
misakixusagi
lol awsome, im glad some other people love it too i think cause its simple in a complicated way-if that makes sense lol thats why its so cool. my other fav which i read every nite for months is CUT , i have read and own every book by toko kawaii ^_^ (sorry its a bit off topic)
Nena21
I also like Cut It's awesome!!! Now going back to the subject, I do read yaoi in public places now and then, but not that often anyway. I read some yaoi manga (Bi no Isu, which is in fact a hard yaoi manga) at university and some collegue of mine saw it and asked me what it is. I told her it's a yaoi manga and explained to her what it means and she said she'd like to try it as well. I recommended her some shounen ai manga and she liked them and then I borrowed her some "harder" stuff and she liked it as well, in fact even more and now she's just crazy about yaoi, just like me
Rei
@ Inulain Your friend has pretty strange tastes... I mean hard porn is nothing but sex, so, nothing special, that can be found everywhere. But yaoi mangas and animes show a different side of love, a more romantic one. You should tell him some yaoi manga titles and encourage him to watch and after he sees he might change his opinion, who knows? I was skeptical in the begining as well, but after watching some yaoi mangas and anime, I totally changed my mind This could be his case as well... or maybe not... not everybody is the same

yaoi-fangirl01
I use to read Yaoi manga in my school library everyday, I don't anymore cause I'm in college and am swamped with assignments. I also dont have to worry about my mum finding out as she knows and has even bought me Yaoi manga for christmas XD
Morinaga's Girl
Wohow! Your mom knows about it and she even buys you yaoi mangas??? I want my mom to be like that too. Unfortunately I don't have the guts to tell her about my yaoi addiction, but I DO read yaoi in public places and in front of my friends. I read once a chapter of Viewfinder at school and I was in the first desk and my Biology teacher got in the class and I was terrified that she might have seen it as I was sitting in the 1st desk, just near the door. I hid it in the bag as fast as I could and I don't think she saw it or at least she never mentioned anything about it :leaf8:
yaoi-fangirl01
Never been caught by a teacher, unfortunatly one of my friends who was reading fanfiction did. However the teacher blew the whole thing out of proportion as the story she was reading was Shouen ai and had no explicite scenes in it.

If my teacher would have caught me, it would have been BAD, real bad, as I was reading a HOT Viewfinder chapter... the one with the fireworks :leaf15:

Morinaga's Girl
They don't have it, for sure. It is licensed, that's why. I'd upload it here, but I don't know if I am permitted to...
