Blue Exorcist (Ao no Exorcist) gets to have another anime adaption.

On 31st issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine, it has also been announced that Blue Exorcist will be having a new anime series.

of Ao no Exorcist, there is a countdown launched starting this month which would end about 7 hours later starting from now to Monday at 8:00 a.m. JST.

 

The new series, titled Ao no Exorcist: Kyoto Fujō Ō-hen (Blue Exorcist: Kyoto Impure King Arc), will debut in 2017.

 

The returning cast are:

The anime series will be adapting the "Kyoto Impure King Arc" that started in the fifth volume of Ao no Exorcist.

 

In the late Edo Period, a demon known as the Impure King killed thousands of people. After defeating the demon, the Knights of the True Cross kept its left eye safely sealed away on Academy grounds - but now someone has stolen it! Hearing the thief has taken a child hostage, Yukio and Rin go to help. The investigation and pursuit will lead Rin and his friends to Kyoto and involve them even deeper in a sinister plot! But will his friends' knowledge that Rin is the son of Satan drive a wedge between them?

In a sense, it would be a second season... but the first season, the anime ending is not following the manga... but it seems that they are able to adapted a new season from another arc so... not really sure >

Yay...love the anime. Glad they decided to make another one. Wonder how many episodes this one will be?
