WolfDog12
In a small village on the outskirts of a great kingdom, there is a tale of a beast that attacks the town at night. It is a smart creature, fast and powerful. It hunts and kills humans mostly, sometimes livestock. For quite a few years, this creature had come out of the woods on the hill next to the village and attacked in the night. The only night everyone is safe, is the night of the new moon. At the same time, there is no safety on the day following a full moon where the creature comes out in the day light to attack. With no where else to turn, the villagers make the long journey to the capital where they speak with the king hoping to have someone come and kill the beast. YC can either be the prince that sets out to control the beast, a knight sent, or he could just be a random hunter of sorts brought in from another land to solve the problem, just let me know. Anyway, what YC finds is that the beast is actually human during the day and an out of control demon at night. Wanting to help/tame the creature, MC must be removed from the village and tamed in some way whether it be locked up at night or always locked up even when human. Having no control over his transformations or his actions as a beast, he accepts his fate either way knowing there is nothing he can say that will set him free. Of course, He later doesn't want to, having developed feelings for YC.
Beast Form: Name: Hikyuu Age: 19 or so Gender: Male Species: Some type of cursed beast/human Personality: Hikyuu is actually a very kind human that loves to help anyone where he can. He lives just outside of the village line in the woods but will constantly travel into the village every day just to help the people out. He smiles a lot and has a very gentle demeanor that hides a lot of self hate for not being able to control himself during his beast form. Hikyuu also can't remember anything that is happening while in beast form and only has a vague idea of what happened when he changes back leaving him typically confused and lost a lot of times.
Just outside of the village, just beyond the tree line within the woods, there was a small cabin that looked abandoned. It was old and fairly well hidden but it was the home of an outsider... even though the villagers didn't know the true extent of what made him an outsider. Just as the sun rose, a boy emerged from the cabin and made his way towards the village. He had a sword strapped to his hip and a scarf around his neck. It was a strange look for this place and he certainly stood out, but everyone here knew him all too well. "Hikyuu!!!" One of the villagers called, the boy turning in response. "You headed down to the market? Can you tell Choji at the market that I'll be a little late on my delivery? My daughter was sick yesterday and I couldn't get to the field before nightfall." "Sure thing! Tell Hana I said to get well soon and you stay safe. Don't go out during the night!" Hikyuu called back waving goodbye to the farmed and heading down the hill around his field and into the main part of the village. Most villages would work well into the night just by having lamps set up, however, in this village, as the sun was setting, everyone was hiding. A beast came out just after sun set and always found its way into the village and tried to kill the villagers. Hikyuu got to the market and relayed the message to Choji while helping him with a few of his other items. Of course, Choji understood completely and while it was a shame not to have the corn he'd been waiting for, it wasn't like he could ask that the farmers work into the night. They'd be killed and then there would be no one to tend to the farms. "Oh, Hikyuu, have you heard the news?" He looked at the other curiously. "Well, we sent word a few days ago about our situation and the prince himself is said to come to take care of it." "The Prince?! Wait, he's coming to try and kill the beast?! I thought it couldn't be hurt by human weapons." Hikyuu was shocked and afraid that the prince would come and just be killed. "I have no idea what his method is going to be but we will finally be rid of that demon that lives in the woods... by the way, have you really never seen the beast?" "Where'd you hear that from?" "Come on Hikyuu, nothing stays secret in this village." Hikyuu sighs, "Ya, I hide in my basement every night with all the lights out and locked up." "You should come and live in the village. We work together to try and stay safe from that beast. You're in more danger actually living in the woods with that thing. What if it suddenly decides to come out during the day?" "If that should ever happen then we are all doomed," Hikyuu admitted and said his goodbyes. He continued on helping people around the village as well as getting himself some food. All the while, he worried about what was going to happen when the prince showed up... would he try and face Hikyuu's night form head on or what? That beast was incredibly slick and smart.... taking him down would certainly be a challenge.
greenbunny2468
Name: Augustus Di Raizel Often called Rai for short Age: 22 Gender: Male Species: Human Personality: Augustus was raised to be commanding and stoic. His father drilled logical reasoning and military knowhow into him has a young boy, and often gave him little love or praise. His strict upbringing from his father left Augustus a little emotional stunted when it comes to knowing what he truly wants or how to worry about his own wellbeing – he often puts the kingdom first and himself last. His self- destructive attitude displeases his mother, and she was the one to teach him to be lenient and kind to others. Augustus took both his mother and father’s teachings to heart and is often praised by his people for being both smart and kind. Augustus Di Raizel was packing when the queen swept into his room like a storm. Anger cracking her stoic mask as she glowered regally at her son. The maids transferring the contents of his closet into travel bags, hastily dropped to one knee, their eyes lowered to the ground in a show of submissive respect. Augustus refused to feed into her unjustifiable angry by bowing. He simply returned to combing through the papers on his desk – trying to decide what documents were mundane enough to bring along on his excursion. “You’re going to that horrid village.” It was an art of his mothers to make statements seem like questions. He’d been envious of it has a child when his father asked his mother about stately affairs and her simply saying “you are no fool,” made his father change laws or fund expeditions. Now he found it tiring. It would be so much simpler if she’d say what she truly meant and be down with it. “I am,” Augustus replied while setting on some documents about lowing the age of apprenticeships. It was dull enough not to cause trouble if stolen, but something that needed a decision soon – the blacksmiths and alchemists were raising the most fuse about yearning to accept younger apprentices. “Why is the prince going to slay a beast when this kingdom has many able hunters and warriors?” The queen had taken to unpacking and repacking his travel bag with heavy clothes, rich furs and coarse leathers. Augustus chose not to stop her even though the weather had been remarkably warm lately. A mother’s job is to worry, his father would say, so let her worry. “Because villagers have died, and livestock stolen away in the middle of the night to feed the beast’s hunger while villagers starve.” The queen looked putout, a worried look overcoming her. “All the more reason for a skilled –” “Prince, who the people adore, to restore order and inspire confidence in the people.” The two stared at each other, tension engulfing the room. The queen was the first to look away, a small hand coming up to rest on her expanding belly. “If something were to happen to you…”Augustus stuffed the desired documents into his leather sactual before walking around the oak desk and claiming his mother’s hands in his own. “If something was to happen to me, the little prince or princess in your stomach would make a fine replacement.” The queen squeezed her son’s hands, her face turning pale at the thought of her son dying. “Does death not scare you, my son?” Augustus blinked his face blank as he took in his mother’s words. The thought of death had never crossed him mind, even with the news that normal weapons had no effect on the beast. Evening hearing that it was clever and said to be as smart, if not smarter than men – death had never crossed his mind, but here staring into his mother’s teary eyes Augustus felt that death was a true option. Yet, somehow, that revelation did not frighten him. Embracing his mother in his arms, Augustus spoke into her ear; “I fear that one village will not be enough. That the beast will plunder and destroy village after village until it is scratching at the castle’s door. I fear that I will not be able to stop it, but I am more afraid of not trying then of death.” The queen’s tears soaked the fabric of Augustus’s shirt while the prince stood firm, holding the shaking woman in his arms tightly. “Then,” his mother sobbed into his chest. “As always, I will fear your death enough for the both of us.”
WolfDog12
Hikyuu walked to a small tea shop nearby and sat down on the bench near a window. He happily chatted with the owner who brought up a point that made the young man jump to attention. "Wait, the full moon is when again?!" "Oh come now, Hikyuu, you're typically the one always keeping track of the moon cycle," the owner said as he joined Hikyuu for a cup of tea. "Ya, I've been working in the fields trying to help farmer Kolmar the past few days.... He hasn't been doing so well...." "I heard he got bit by the beast. I'm surprised he managed to get away with his life." The owner was then called by one of his workers and said good bye as he got up from his seat. "Oh, in two days, it is the full moon so remember to get what you need and stay hidden the day that follows. The beast seems to come out during the day that follows a full moon." "Thanks for reminding me. I should probably go make sure Farmer Kolmar is alright. He was up and about today and yesterday but who knows if he's pushing himself." Hikyuu still staying in his seat for a moment. It would only take a couple days for the prince to make it from the kingdom to get here and if he made it by the night of the full moon, it was even more dangerous. What was Hikyuu going to do? Now filled with a new wave of self hate, the male got up and left the shop running as fast as he could to go to Kolmar's farm. When he got there, Kolmar was safely resting and doing well to not push himself. After seeing that, Hikyuu had to go straight back to get himself new tools so he could get to work on something to deal with this night problem of his... He tried lots of things and in doing so, it would always lead to worse situations if the beast didn't find something to eat or kill.... or even hunt, he'd just about lose it.... No one has died in nearly a week but it didn't make living here any better. Hikyuu got his tools and walked his way back up the hill and into the woods. The sun was only a couple hours from setting and most people in town were wrapping up what they were doing. This cursed human... half human was going to get this done as soon as possible. Raising the ax, Hikyuu swung at a tree deep in the woods. After an hour of hacking away, he was quite a ways away from getting the tree down. He placed the ax down for a minute panting a bit. He wasn't good at this and his hits were pretty varied and not in the same spot each time. Why was swinging an ax downward so much easier than sideways into a standing tree. The sun was setting so Hikyuu sighed and took off his scarf, sword, shirt, and everything. He stripped down knowing that when he changed, it would tear through his clothes.... It wasn't exactly magical but a painful bone structure change... though after so many years of it happening, Hikyuu was use to it and could get up each day without wasting too much time recovering. The red eyed male looked up at the sky before pushing his things under a bush and basically just waiting to change. Normally he would try and lock himself in his house but every night he'd get out and still wreak havoc. Better wait until he could seriously seal himself away. As the sun vanished beyond the horizon, Hikyuu's face lengthened, his teeth turned to sharp fangs, fingers retracted, claws extending. His spine lost the human curve and stretched out flat, hips and shoulders shifting to handle being on four legs. His tail bone stretched and extended to be a long and dangerous tail, his whole body growing a layer of soft fur that was amazingly durable. The red of Hikyuu's eyes filled up the larger eyes looking like some kind of metaphor for "Blind with Rage". The beast took a couple of breathes as the human lost his consciousness within the wild creature, losing control of the body and awareness of what was to come. The nighttime had fallen upon this desperate town.
greenbunny2468
Somehow, after pushing the horses to run nonstop – their only retrieve time to drink and eat – Pejic had managed to get Augustus to the village in a day. The sky was a purplish pink when they finally came to a stop– sunrise almost two hours away. The village-head, a greying oldman who looked perpetually nervous, hurried to the prince’s carriage. His shaking hands helping Pejic with the luggage as Augustus climbed out of the chart and gazed at the village. Wheat and crops, mostly corn, dominated Augustus vision – as expected of a farming village. Yet, there was something lonesome about the sight. The wooden foundations and lushes crops reflected in Augustus eyes seemed stained by despair and hopelessness – there were farming supplies left out, houses with a piece of them shattered or broken. It was as if the beast was wrecking things to quickly for the villagers to replace. Augustus frowned. Though he didn’t have long to think about his negative thoughts as the village-head was standing before him, moist hand held outwards. Augustus gripped the older man’s hand in a firm shake. “Abidan,” the elder introduced himself nervously wetting his lips as he led the prince and his companion towards his house. “My family has run the village for years…in fact, my son who was supposed to take over was…” Adidan bit his lip, face expressing great pain as he opened his front door, allowing the prince to enter first before following closely behind. “My boy was taken by the beast.” Taken, Augustus mused silently, a gentle way of saying eaten, I assume. Abidan strived to control himself as the three set down at the dining room table, his wife gazing at them from behind kitchen’s door. “After him,” Abidan cleared his throat. “I became village head again, and I just want to thank you for coming here, Prince Augustus – we really need the help.” Augustus gave Abidan a soft smile. “Your suffering is my suffering, Abidan.” Abidan could practically feel his wife swooning in the other room. Abidan offered the prince an answering smile. “Still if I didn’t thank you I’d feel horrid. So, thank you, my prince.” Augustus bowed his head in acceptance although he felt the thanks were premature – he hadn’t truly done anything worth acknowledging yet. Abidan talked a little more about the village – told Augustus of the beast attacking at night only to vanish by morning. And it always vanished into the woods – that promise got the prince thinking. “These woods….I would like to see them.” Abidan nodded quickly at the prince’s words – expecting them. Although, as he looked out the window – gazed at the pinkish sky and took in the prince’s regal yet lethargic appearance, he felt it would be unwise to send their savior into the woods now. He voiced his concerns gently; “Of course, my prince – but would it not be better if you went after a rest? Tomorrow is the full moon, when the beast is even more clever when it is upon us. A little rest would do you good.” Augustus started at Abidan. The prince’s face blank as he took in the man’s words. There was wisdom in them. He was tired and it wasn’t like the beast was going anywhere… “Well, then,” Augustus spoke calmly. “Tomorrow I shall go into the woods.”
WolfDog12
The beast was pretty happy to go about in the night and only stayed in the woods long enough to get use to his body again before taking off towards the village. He walked in and looked around for a while before going on the hunt for people. After an hour of finding no one around, the beast became very upset. He scoffed with a low growl before getting really pissed. The creature went to the corn farmer's house and found the tools that hadn't been put away. Normally, they'd be safe but the beast was hungry and there was no food. So, he began getting the handles of the tools and breaking them within his jaws. After everything was broken, the beast moved on. Wandering around, the beast began getting angrier and angrier only taking it all out on everything he passed. The beast tore into the buildings and the tools, anything he could get his fangs around really. For a while, the beast just returned to the woods to find a deer to eat. However, he returned 3 hours before sun rise and walked out to try and find a human to hunt. After getting to the point of wanting to tear a building to the ground just to kill someone, there was the sound of horses approaching. The beast moved to hide himself but spotted the elder outside. When he wanted to approach, the horses pulled a carriage up to the old man. More humans that looked damn good to eat. The creature waited patiently with no intention to kill and just watched as everyone made their way into the building. Once the door shut, the creature got up and ran the long way around to get behind the building and leap onto the roof. For an animal the size of a tiger that looked like a cross between a panther and a wolf, he was incredibly light on his feet and jumped onto the roof without making a sound and the roof didn't even bend due to his lighter weight. The beast carefully listened to the conversation until they said that it was time to rest, now knowing the plan, the beast make a fangy smirk before leaping down and taking off for the woods again. He toppled over a whole row of corn before returning to where he hid his clothes. The beast always returned to where his human form left the clothes. Morning finally came and the bones changed and retracted, fur disappearing. The now human, was left laying face down for a long while before he managed to even move. Hikyuu got up and got dressed again, taking himself back to his house to make sure he was ready to go. Finally, Hikyuu was able to head down to the village. He talked to the farmer who's daughter seemed back on her feet but found the news that all of his tools were broken. At least he was thankful to be alive. Hikyuu spent half the day helping the man with his corn field and said good bye while taking a good portion of that corn down to the market. "I brought some of the corn for your market. More will be brought later today but it took a while since all the tools had to be replaced," Hikyuu explained. "Well thank you for getting these for me today. I can at least get it sent out for trade so we can get some other food in here." "I wish you luck!" Hikyuu waved good bye and walked over to go see what other damage may have been done. As he walked, an older voice called out to him and the male turned to look over. There stood the village chief and elder with the prince and his men. "Hikyuu!!! Do an old man a favor, would you mind bringing the prince here up to your house? He would like to take a look around the woods." "I wouldn't mind sir but that's dangerous isn't it?" "He is here to help." With a heavy sigh, Hikyuu looked down and agreed. "Alright. Come on sire, my house is quite a ways away. My name is Hikyuu by the way. I live on the outskirts of the town in the woods up there." As they walked, it was pretty clear home much Hikyuu alone stood out as everyone called out to him saying hello or thanking him for his help. They had to make there way up the hill ad around the corn field. The highest field was in the worst situation. The beast seemed to have fun trampling that one. By the time they made it to the top of the hill where the woods were, Hikyuu only now came to the realization that he hadn't eaten anything since noon the day before. He swayed on his feet and almost fell over from dizziness. "I'm sorry, I guess I forgot to eat this morning..."
greenbunny2468
Augustus reached out a hand to steady Hikyuu, a frown engulfing his face at the young man’s words. “The fault is mine,” when Abidan had offered him a guide into the woods the prince at agreed readily despite the early hour. Augustus was used to rising early to carry out his duties – although it had taken time to be accustomed to rising with the sun, Augustus was now a pro at it. Yet, he knew others wouldn’t be as comfortable with it as him. Taken in the boy’s paleness, Augustus waved Pejic forward. His stoic servant inclined his head towards the prince. “You’ve packed nourishment, yes?” Pejic nodded once, Augustus smiled. “Well, then – I’d like some food for Hikyuu.” Pejic swiftly retrieved a blanket from one of the parcels he was carrying and spread it out across the ground, before laying out fruits, breads, and some tea. Augustus gestured to the set up and gave Hikyuu an imploring look; “Would you care to sit?”
WolfDog12
Hikyuu was caught and steadied by the prince who blamed himself for something he had not done. "You needn't worry yourself over me your Highness. People around here are use to rising as soon as the sun rises and getting to work as quickly as possible. We have half the time most do thanks to the beast that comes as soon as the sun sets... Heck, it's still fairly light out when the beast is out and about so we have to take time to getting into the house and hiding the best that we can." He seemed sad and almost lonely at the thought of the beast once more.... "You see, it is my fault for going to work earlier without having anything to eat so please don't blame yourself." Now he managed to get back on track... His body was running on emptier than he thought since Hikyuu didn't know that the beast hadn't managed to find anything good enough to eat. His body may change forms but it is still his body so running on empty wasn't good for either of them. It was impossible to resist the prince's kind offer so he removed his sword from his side and placed it on the ground beside him when he sat down. "Your Highness, would you mind telling me about the capital? I've never been. What's it like in such a big place?"
